BILLS LIKE STOP CSAM ARE TRYING TO BE SNUCK INTO THE NDAA, WHICH IS A MUST PASS BILL. THIS WILL NOT ONLY REMOVE ANY CHANCE OF PRIVACY, ENCRYPTION, AND FREE SPEECH, BUT IT WILL GUT THE INTERNET AS WE KNOW IT. THIS WILL NOT PROTECT CHILDREN AT ALL, IT WILL ONLY CENSOR THEM AND GIVE THEM NO SECURITY OR PRIVACY. CALL YOUR SENATORS AND SIGN PETITIONS!!

take action @ badinternetbills.com
send postcards and emails like this:
I oppose all bills that weaken end-to-end encryption, infringe upon teenagers’ constitutional right to free speech on the internet, and enable censorship of valuable online resources for abortion seekers and LGBTQ+ communities. If you truly care about young people’s experience on the internet, you should pass comprehensive data privacy legislation and oppose EARN IT, KOSA, the RESTRICT Act, STOP CSAM, the Cooper Davis Act, and age restrictions on social media.

CALLING ALL US CITZENS, CALL YOUR SENATORS
If you've been here for long enough, you've heard about KOSA. The Kids Online Safety Act is a harmful and horrific bill that would censor content for ALL, all under the name of "protecting kids". This is the same ideology of queer people and people of colour being inappropriate or sexual divants from the 1980s, 1970s going all the way back to the 1920s. Progressive bill my ass.
So we need all hands on deck to help fight!
If you're in the US:
CALL. YOUR. SENATORS.
You can use this resource to help
TELL THEM PEOPLE DON'T WANT THIS BILL AND THAT IT'S CONTROVERSIAL.
If you're not in the US,
Here's a linktree

hey y'all
this link right here gives majority of the information needed about the situation regarding the governments plans to censor sites that host LGBTQ content (for example tiktok, twitter, wattpad)
sites such as tumblr & ao3 could be at huge risk due to their smaller size and more acceptability to taboo subject matters
these bills are supported by the right AND left and will cause more harm than good
it's not artists job to monitor what children do on the internet it's their parents/guardians
i just had to put on my big boy drawers & call a bunch a old folks i do not fuck with
it's that easy

Please sign petitions and call your representatives. These useless and harmful bills have bipartisan support so its an issue across the board. This site can inform you of all the bills, give you easy access to petitions, and offer scripts for when you call.

Rant. Tw: SA
It makes me so mad when a predator’s wife learns that he has abused children and stays with him anyway. Even with proof she stays. Even though they have small children that he could harm she stays. Part of me feels bad for her because he has probably abused her and she depends on him financially so I’m sure leaving is hard. I think the thing that makes me so mad is that she tries to blame me for what happened while also telling me that I’m just delusional and nothing happened at all. Even though I sent her proof she still tries to deny anything happened. I hope she accepts the truth soon and takes the children away from that creep.

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE! 🚨
KOSA has officially passed through Congress as of today.
Does this mean that it has become US law? No. But, regardless we still are not 100% in the clear. For those living in the United States of America, I have a lot of information for you, in this Google Doc.
If you don’t reside here, that’s fine. Keep boosting messages about KOSA. You’re actually doing Americans a service by helping us out— because not only will this have ramifications on us, but as most popular sites are US based, this bill, if passed through the chambers of the senate, will effect how you get to use the sites you use.
If you follow me and if you keep in touch with my content, (all 578 of you,) I do have my own plans in place in terms of KOSA and where it goes.
DON’T LIKE— REBLOG. IT HELPS GAIN EXPOSURE!
STOP KOSA!
Tumblr media
KOSA 101
Let’s talk about this. This is something I haven’t seen a lot of in my end, and this new bill may be troubling to not just us as a whole, but content creators. So, this isn’t just exclusive to AO3 anymore. This can go as far as places like Wattpad, Quotev, DeviantArt, and here.
So, to put it bluntly, if you give a fuck, listen.
Tumblr media
What is KOSA?
KOSA (Kids Online Safety Act,) is a bill within the United States that was initially created last year with the aim of protecting youth (considerably age 16 and under,) from viewing harmful content online. It has since been updated and reintroduced by Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN.) Now, on surface level, it may seem like this has a good outlook, right? Not in the slightest. This bill, while it may not be passed yet rather introduced, may take an extreme to protect youth and monitor all. Yes, I said monitor.
Not only is NSFW content bound to be flagged, which may totally censor a lot of creators not just on this platform but others, a wider band that is under this new bill is LGBT+ content. According to Senator Blackburn of Tennessee, who is KOSA’s co-author, even education on race discrimination was viewed as “dangerous to kids,” and this soon branches out to race, gender, and sexuality discrimination. This also extends out to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, etc. The bill puts itself in the hands of State Attorney Generals in order for them to use tools of censorship against our rights and safety— not just for the youth, but for adults too, as we may face (giving an example,) hurdles trying to obtain things like legal documents.
How does KOSA work?
KOSA works by acting as a censor and self filter for the internet. By the hands of Attorney State Generals, they ultimately decide what is harmful to kids online. Though, this is a dual edged sword. This would also present the loss of access to information that a large sum of people may not deem dangerous. This again extends outward towards things like depression, substance abuse, etc— complex topics without a clear agreement on causes or solutions. This means that it could also filter, and possibly censor medical information, extending outward to trans medical care as well, which may lead on to silence the transgender community further. This is a very bad thing.
There would still be features like Age Verification, but it also filters legal speech. What I mean by “there will still be features,” to give an example, Tumblr has a tab in settings where you can add your birthday, which in turn verifies how old you are. Tiktok has this feature as well. About filtering legal speech, any kind of media or information that has to do with societal ills that is held on a platform, for example, Tumblr, will enable that platform to be held liable for holding that information. But… it may seem like I’m getting off topic, aren’t I?
So let’s swing back around…
KOSA has the ability to hurt creators on several different platforms. This gives the United States Government unlimited range of control over the internet.
This linktree has at least four different petitions open for you to take action against the bill, and to contact your congressmen and women. There’s also a discord server that’s dedicated to stopping KOSA from passing.
By doing this, you are spreading your voice. You are helping millions of people nationally— creators, artists, writers, everyone.
And finally, don’t just like this post. Reblog it— it helps it spread and gain exposure.
Let’s put an end to KOSA.

S.1829
There is going to be a hearing on several bills in the Senate including S.1829 June 5th. Like other bills meant to protect children online, S.1829 as written does more harm then good. This hearing is believed to be a markup hearing, so use the information below to call the Senate Judiciary Committee. When you call make sure you emphasize the threat Trump poses is such a bill were to pass, especially to the Democratic members. Make sure to call between now and June 5th.

Call To Action: The Stop CSAM Act, S. 1829
As always, the powers that seek to take our privacy and safety from us look to get the jump on us and give us little time to prepare. Which is why we now have a new call to action.
This thursday, 6/5/2025, the Senate Judiciary Committee will be holding a meeting for a possible markup on S. 1829, the Stop CSAM Act.
Once again, the bill's good intentions and emotion-grabbing title are yet another Trojan Horse for a bill that would seek to peel back privacy and protections for citizens under the guise of a noble cause. This bill's intent, supposedly to create further accountability and make internet services have further accountability, is masked by the potential harms it can do.
As this bill intends to cause damage to the currently assailed Section 230 by carving out an exemption for allowing lawsuits against services which might host this type of content (redundant as Section 230 already does not cover things that are a federal crime), and attacks privacy by destroying the coverage of end to end encryption in online services which offer DMs and messages like WhatsApp, Facetime, Signal, and others. Making them ripe pickings for anyone who might want to hack into and access peoples' private messages. Especially in the current political climate where the President wants to create a database on US Citizens and privacy protections are being tested more and more.
I urge you to call and write the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee before this Thursday, to warn them of the dangers of this bill and urge them to not allow it to pass through committee.
Tell them to vote NO on S. 1829
