Hellooo there was something abt your post that kinda got me thinking. The mha fandom has always been populated by mostly fem and general queer people, which is probably the reason why these toxic brodudes were SO pissed whenever anything queer looking would happen in the story, and why their reaction to 430 was so bitter and vindictive. They hate when they see the queers feeling like they have been catered to, and they hate having to be creative by themselves.

I watched a video by a yt named Shaun, abt a fake outrage that the same kind of brodudes instigated, but with the difference being that it was abt video games. He said something that seriously makes sense even in the context of mha and various other mangas.

"They don't want to be a part of diversity, they want to be superior to it. They don't want a game with the option to cater to them, they want to be the ones who the game solely caters to".

And to me, that is exactly what 431 is.

Now i'm gonna be honest, my opinion of Hori wasn't the greatest before, and after that it just became really sour. But i recognized his capabilities and his passion. So being as chariable as possible coming from me; i think he just got angry that he had to see people criticizing the previous ending in such a humiliating way. It wouldn't be surprising, since the the fuss they made wasn't just in one place, it was everywhere. Everyone was spreading misinformation to hell and back and even attacking him personally.

He tried his best to counter all of what they were saying, by making everything they wanted a possibility at the very last minute. But, as you know, the things they wanted were absolutely nothing but the bland, underdeveloped het ship becoming canon. And for that, everything had to be dumbed down, forgotten, or forced in a shoddy way. Now all the same ppl who were pissed are praising him for "fixing" his ending.

He'll probably try to do damage control if the backlash of now gets to him, by like, idk making family/romantic illustrations for Iz/och? Which to me personally will just mean that he really is that lazy or weak willed. But maybe he will just show cool illustrations and stay quiet.

The biggest problem with mha is that it’s debut, and the initial few years of its publication, it mainly garnered a very dudebro like fanbase. Even during the first half of 2020 when it blew up, it catered heavily to dudebros with fan service and power scaling. The issue is that eventually as the manga transcended to become something that was much more inclusive, it stopped catering to these guys.

I have always said this but a man’s biggest enemy is women and queer people. So when a fanbase garners a massive female and queer audience, it becomes a job for these guys to shame said consumers who actually heavily heavily contribute to the popularisation of said media. I’m not sure if you have seen the video of that woman on tiktok who went viral for crying over chapter 431 and how aggressive these “normal” guys were towards her. I believe infiltration of fandom spaces mainly happens when the author tries to cater to EVERY side of the audience, the dudebros, women, queer people. And it simply cannot work that way. This is something i have always critiqued on Hori’s part, that despite that sheer density and strength of his story, he becomes directionless when it comes to appealing to certain sides of the fandom. Which is why we get sm fan service, sm forced izcha crumbs, its Hori’s attempt at keeping both bkdks and izchs happy. And it simply does not work that way.

However, i truly truly thought his choice of ending 430 the way he did was groundbreakingly beautiful. It was the most amazing open ending we could’ve had. But his choice to publish 431, which, he too, seemed unwilling to, really undid 430 chapters of his hard work because not only did it fracture the narrative and corrupt the characters but it also dismantled everything he had built. In a way, it also very much ruined mha in multiple ways.

I hadn’t seen a relationship as beautiful as tgchk and bkdk in shounen before, it was so raw and jarring in so many ways. And as a bisexual woman, Toga’s conclusion felt very dear and personal to me. But sadly, the ending really left a hole in my heart. So when i see these dudebros violently trashing ships and calling them senseless I cannot help but feel super sad because in a way, after chapter 430 the number of these aggressive dudebros had significantly reduced maybe because they were forced to come in terms with the finale. But 431 really resurfaced them in the worst way possible.

I started reading your fanfic, and to be honest… I usually don’t read het. It just doesn’t interest me most of the time because it almost always turns into some heteronormative bullshit where strong female characters end up bending over backward to worship some alpha male. It’s an awful trend in modern stories.

And in fanfiction, self-insert ships like character/reader are even more off-putting. They just scream low-effort writing or feel like those cringy TikTok plots where the main character is a total Mary Sue.

Your work caught my interest because I’ve been following your blog for a while now, and I absolutely love your posts—your character analysis, everything. There was no way I could skip this one. And holy shit, I’m so glad I started reading!!

First of all, this is the most book-accurate Severus I have ever seen in fanfiction. And since I pretty much only read fanfics for Snape, I can already give this a 20/10. I’m losing my mind over how natural and canon-compliant he feels. It’s just perfect.

I also wasn’t expecting much from the main character, but she’s absolutely delightful. I love how alive your characters feel—it’s not something you see often, but you nailed it 100%. I’ve only just started, haven’t even read half of it yet, but I’m already obsessed. I’m even forcing myself to read slower just to suffer a little less while waiting for new chapters. :3

And another thing—I never realized how interesting a wizard/Muggle dynamic could be. I’ve come across similar stories before, but they always focused entirely on the magic. But here (and I REALLY hope this happens!!!), the main character might actually get to introduce Severus to the Muggle world!

I’m only on chapter 6, and that alone was enough to leave me seriously impressed—especially considering I already had high expectations, and you completely lived up to them! There’s still so much ahead, and I really hope it stays just as amazing. 🤌

It's funny because there are literally people who stopped reading the story precisely because the FL had "too much depth" and "didn't feel like a reader insert anymore," so they just went, well, goodbye. I totally respect that, but it made me laugh because, honestly, I can't conceive of a longfic where both characters don't have some level of depth? But in the end, it's all a matter of taste.

Anyways, I read this comment yesterday, but I didn’t have time to properly respond and tell you how much your words moved me. Because honestly, I don’t usually read much het anymore either, precisely for the same reason—or I just don’t read romance at all because the dynamics often feel problematic to me. So, I completely understand the caution when approaching something outside of what you usually read, and the fact that you stayed and kept reading seriously flatters me so much.

Also, girllll, keeping him in character is so hard. Seriously, if I take a while to update, it’s not out of laziness—it’s because I really need to have my mind in the right place to make the character feel realistic and respectful of canon. It’s something I struggle with a lot, and being told that he truly feels canon-compliant is literally the best compliment I could receive because I put so much effort into it. I honestly reread my chapters, delete things, rewrite them, and then delete them again because I feel like they’re coming off too OoC. I know I can’t make it 100% in character, but I try to stay as faithful as possible, and having that effort recognized and appreciated genuinely makes me so happy—I won’t even try to deny it.

As for the FL, I didn’t want her to fall into the typical trope of taking over the story because I really intended this to be more of a character analysis of Severus. But at the same time, I didn’t want her to feel artificial either. And while, as I mentioned, some people don’t like that, I need to give the characters I write a personality—otherwise, I get bored. I’m really glad she doesn’t feel overwhelming to you—that’s important too, though she is meant to be a bit insufferable at times, lol.

And yes, I’ve also read wizard/muggle stories, and the problem is always how the muggle suddenly gets thrown into the magical world and all its lore, which is something that’s already been explored extensively—not just in fanfiction but in the original series itself. When I planned the story, I told myself that the muggle world, and especially the dynamic between wizards and muggles (which is so underexplored in the series), would be one of the main themes. One of the things that becomes clearer as the story progresses is not just the cultural but also the moral and ethical differences between the two worlds, and how wizards tend to be much more rigid and conservative in that regard. It’s something I really wanted to write about and explore because I find it fascinating, and it’s a shame there’s so little information about it—Rowling never really took the time to explain how these things played out in those contexts.

Severus, besides being a half-blood, actually grew up in a muggle environment, even if he later rejected it, denied it, and, in a way, hated it because it was a part of his father, whom he despised. So, I also saw it as a great opportunity to explore that returning to one's roots trope—to some extent, coming to terms with them, because at the end of the day, in order to start healing, we have to reconnect with our childhood selves.

Anyway, thank you so much for this wonderful review, seriously. Messages like this give me so much motivation to keep writing, especially because, as I always say, I’m not a professional, nor is English my first language. Au where Bumblebee was a war frame living on a neutral colony where pre!triple changer Blitzwing meets him and start dating. (I like to imagine the reason they met was because Bee is a weapons engineer and Blitz sought him out to commission what later became his hyperfrost emitter cannon :3, but you can change that if you like)

One day, while Blitz is away on deployment, Bees colony is attacked and he gets forcefully drafted into the autobots. After getting reformatted he’s thrown into boot camp as a form of “rehabilitation”, where he befriends Bulkhead and Longarm and makes enemies with Wasp and Sentinel. There’s a whole uno reverse with Wasp being the one to claim Bee the spy, but he doesn’t find any evidence. Any time he does find something condemning, it disappears soon after (curtesy of SW). After many escape attempts, disubordination and pranks, Bee gets branded a failure and thrown onto a space fairing crew to get him off of Cybertron and out of sight. Bulkhead follows soon after the tower incident. Both of them agree to keep his previous frame status a secret from the others.

Then the rest happens per usual and they are all on earth. Idk if they’d recognize each other immediately, but they would notice similarities between them and their old frames. Poor Blitz is hit with the surprise that his honey bee is not only alive but also an autobot, and Bee is struggling not to run and embrace the big bot in front of his team while also feeling self conscientious over his small frame.

AAAHHHHHHH I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS!!!!!!

My romantic & tragic loving heart says yes they know EXACTLY who the other is because in between times Bumblebee helped Blitzwing het used to his large warframe & learned with him how to get used to the personalities. Found ways to help silence the voices and even how each can have their turn so to speak so it’s not all chaos. He loves Blitzwing personalities & quirks & triple changer abilities & downfalls and all!

Blitzwing falls even more in Love with him & when Bumblebee was forced to join the autobots he never stopped looking for him!

They were freshly bonded before Bee was taken and so Bee kept being insubordinate to get kicked out so he could find Blitzwing and be freed!

But then the events happen & the moment they see each other on the battlefield they get away from the others & reunite!

Bee feels bad but he chooses his sparkmate! Megatron already knew who Bee was on the ship its why he didn’t try to offline him when Bee got close & made that joke! Bee was also giving him a signal & Megatron realized!

Bee and Blitzwing go off on there own for a while & bee’s team are worried but he comms them telling them he’s fine he just needs to be alone for a while!

He feels bad but he doesn’t want to be branded a traitor but he also doesn’t want to be apart of either faction! He prefers creating things be it a medical lab tool or a weapon! He never wanted to join either side & understood where both were coming from!

It was something a lot of the cons admired about him even though they wanted him to join their side! He truly is easily likable even if he is a brat he’s a loving brat!

I’m sorry i got carried away but i love this idea!!! Bee really would be insecure on his size but blitzwing would love him no matter his size.

“You took care of me when you were my size so now its my turn to take care of you.”

But bee is like, “nah we can take care of each other!”

He’s an engineer he’s resourceful making things to help Blitz who both loves & hates it because he just wants to spoil his hummel!

Loki S2 Pre-E6 Thoughts

So I know that this is totally random content to give to y'all this morning, but I wanted to post up my thoughts about the series before its final episode airs tomorrow. I have, in the past, talked about my thoughts on S1 and how I really did like it until the last 5 minutes of Episode 6 and how out-of-nowhere-forced the Sylvie/Loki kiss felt (I was physically cringing about it).

Given how S1 ended, I was a bit wary about S2, but decided to watch it anyway, and holy hell I think Season Two is KNOCKING it out of the park. I'm loving it as much as I loved Moon Knight, and it's right up there now in my top 5. The episodes are SO cinematically beautiful, well written and flow nicely, the characters are all so charming, and the Mobius/Loki relationship is being built up so much that it COULD lead to more or canonization in the final episode. During the past 5 weeks, I've been lurking on the meta spaces for Loki on Twitter and Tumblr, and wow the nostalgia I feel for it, it SO reminds me of the hey-day of my Johnlock meta-ing before S4.

I think my only gripe right now with this season is that they wasted Sophia DiMartino... her character Sylvie feels like such a... filler character (like they just put her in there because she was in the first season and they didn't know what to do with her this season)? But I think ALSO she's meant to be a counter-mirror to Loki, to show that he ISN'T like her anymore, that he grew and changed for the better with the positive influences in his life, and unlike her he doesn't WANT to be alone and such. And they're REALLY making her so unlikeable this season for me... I'm glad that it's looking like they're pretty much not going the Sylvie/Loki route (and I honestly don't see how people who ship it think it will canonically turn around at this point), but the showrunners are having her have every interaction between her and Loki rather hostile, demoralizing, or toxic. And rather that, they're countering it by showing a more positive alternative for Loki with Mobius as his potential romantic partner. Which is fantastic because I've shipped Lokius since Mobius came on the screen in S1, LOL. I just think they could have done that in S2 without making Sylvie an unlikeable character (like have her be a cheerleader for them instead?) I dunno. It's a shame because I did like her in S1. Don't like her at all in S2. She's so MEAN to EVERYONE. To Mobius especially, like CHILL girl, let a man stress-eat, JEEZ.

And here's the rant I actually wanted to write this post about because I didn't want to clutter up other people's threads with it: So, every week, I usually watch breakdowns and review videos so I can understand the characters and their comic counter parts a bit better, and usually the breakdowns are really good because they show the nods to comic-canon things and such. But OMG these past two weeks, I had to stop watching the reviews because LITERALLY all of them ship Sylvie/Loki and are trying SO hard to prove that it's canon when the past few weeks it's only been more and more likely that it's not happening.

NONE of Big Name Reviewers (NRS and SC specifically, if ya know you know) acknowledged AT ALL the RIDICULOUS amount of romantic tropes and dopey staring that Episodes 4 and 5 had (Loki watches Mobius through a window the first time he finds him, and the second time before going to talk to Mobius again Loki LITERALLY groomed himself and then stutters like a lovesick teenager. It was very rom-com; and they're skirting around the fact that all the empty places in the TVA that Loki kept slipping to were ALL places that Loki tshared time with Mobius in... I CAN GO ON FOREVER HERE, AND AND AND that Loki is constantly panicking if he can't find Mobius). LIKE. NONE OF THE REVIEWERS, who literally break down all the episodes and point out shit like All That for het-ships, just won't acknowledge any of it!! They glossed over both Loki's and Sylvie's bisexuality confirmations in S1, and only briefly mentioned their genderfluidity in the comics and in actual mythology. I usually watch the breakdowns because I'm not familiar with comic lore so I find it interesting to learn about those backstories, as well as little details they find, but they've been dropping the ball ALL season, and EVERY one of them mention EVERY single breakdown that Loki just wants to get back to "his one true love Sylvie!!", like what are you smoking?!?!? I was getting SO FRUSTRATED because they skipped over LARGE chunks of E5, especially, just pointing out the surface level stuff instead. I literally turned it off after all that.

THAT ALL SAID, since episode one it's been clear that Sylvie wants NOTHING to do with Loki – she just wants to live a quiet simple life. Then when shit goes bad, she blames Loki for all the problems SHE caused, shits on Mobius every chance she gets, and then in that bar scene when Loki's bearing his soul to her, telling her that he wants his friends back and DOESN'T want to be alone, she basically is like "tough titties" and leaves him ALONE, showing she's not a friend at all.

But the reviewers literally just gloss over all of this. ANYWAY.

Ugh, sorry about that, that's been eating at me for like 3 weeks and last week's reviews finally just pissed me off so much because even casually watching the show I could see all this shit. I only REALLY started believing Lokius could happen after Episode 4 aired, and then Episode 5 had me reeling.

I am DYING to write meta about every episode as it comes out... I just feel that other people are writing better stuff than I could, and much faster than I have time for, and really it's nice to be on the reader side of things for a change. I just... don't want to add in my own two cents to their posts because I'd feel I'm intruding, is all.

I have lots of hope about where Episode 6 will go... like I'm feeling pretty good about them canonizing Lokius... However... I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't get canonized simply because this is Disney and I am REALLY not thinking they're going to explore Loki's comic-canon genderfluidity and sexuality on a surface level.

Good thing I eat subtext for breakfast LOL. I lived through BBC Sherlock, hahah. BUT... can I get a third ship canonized in one year??? Is it wishful thinking? Oh, for sure. I hope so. I would be so happy if Disney even ACKNOWLEDGED that they love each other But I'm not expecting it. I'll be happy with another hug at least, or a forehead touch or hand holding. I'm a simple gal.

Honestly though, I do inevitably want the last episode to have Loki as the ruler with his friends, because they built up to this for 12 episodes, I DON'T want an unhappy ending for the sake of a twist or whatever. Truly let him be the Loki Who Remains (a callback to Episode One) as the Keeper of Time with Bea, O.B., Casey, and Mobius at his side <3

I LOVE the character development of Loki in this series, too. I legit didn't really care for Loki all that much in the MCU, but this series did the same to him for me that FatWS did to Bucky for me: Make me want to see MORE of them and their adventures with their new friends.

hey is it just me who just find it baffling why Starboy even has a fandom? Normally I don’t like to be a party pooper regarding interests and selfshipping is fine but I never like how his fandom ignore Asha’s ENTIRE DANG ARC and think it’d be better if a twink was there. Yes we need more black lead romances but it screams regressive to me. Because I remember Disney was constantly hit with piss poor takes abt romance from “critics” and now y’all want a romance? Exactly, I also hate to be a killjoy when people feel inspired to actually be creative and do something in the fandom by making fanart or fics instead of just moaning endlessly about something they half read on tiktok (that was also… mostly made up). I still don’t hold anything against starboy or even an asha romance concept, I just think it’s sad that 1. People think she NEEDS a boyfriend in order for wish to be a good movie and 2. They act like disney never gave us a heterosexual couple?? Come on now. Many starboy essays I see around can be summarized with: “why did they get rid of the sexy twink??😭” which is… I mean… And I’m not trying to diminish people’s work, really, I’ve seen some AMAZING fanart for asha and starboy. I just wish they stopped with the insufferable captions (“we were robbed!!!! This is wish as it should have been!!!!”) because what they do is only fueling further hate from half disinterested people who will look at their posts while scrolling and say “yeah, this was so much better, disney sucks”. And yes, about the critics; people spent years criticizing snow white for being “weak”, then when a latina actress was cast as her and said the same thing, The Knights of Snow White rose to defend her because she’s apparently everyone’s favorite princess now.

So uuuuh let me ruin it by saying some cancelable controversial opinions I have.

Preface:

This is gonna be kinda bitchy… and I’m sorry for that but I wanna put it out there. Also I have deeper thoughts on this topic but I’m fried af so here the overview.

I will say this is why I avoid more Gen Fandom spaces (Reddit I avoid like the plague) and opt to try and craft my own here. I don’t want to spread hate but something I have strong bitter opinions, so I air them here (pls NEVER use anything I say as a reason to attack other groups or schools of thought just because I personally dislike them).

I feel like I’m gonna be made out to be a “Woke Disillusioned Queer” for saying some of my more LGBTA+ Headcanons but this is Tumblr so like so I should be able to be crazy here.

Kumoko and Marketing:

I hate that the Kumoko Anime went for basic “Waifu” Marketing (especially cause the App Game doubles down on that a bit) because I feel it really doesn’t capture the feeling of the series and attracts the wrong type of fans completely. Look I get it. Waifus are sort of a guarantee for at least a little sales where going a more unique angle might’ve risked not making profit, doesn’t mean I have to like it. And I have no problem with people liking female characters or being into a series because of them, but “Waifu bros” (derogatory) tend to be the type to not care about women as characters or dumb down their personalities and Kumoko has some amazingly written female characters so it breaks my heart. Kumoko herself is so insane and unique seeing people dumb her down to “Dere Girl” or “Crazy Girl That Doesn’t Show it on Her Face” just hurts a lot.

I feel like appeal wise Kumoko should’ve gone somewhere between Overlord (power balancing, social comedy of thoughts versus appearance, and political intrigue (being brute forced by mc) in the background) and Campfire Cooking (cool monsters, silly monster based eating, and found family (plus a little queer cough cough what)). I would often describe Kumoko’s appeal to me as my “Female Power Fantasy” where women get to be in strong positions (and a lot of the men take more supporting roles) without it having to be social commentary (not that that’s bad but this is a “fantasy”) or people creeping on the ladies. It’s just cool to see strong and proud women.

I would say the three things that bug me to the most (reason I avoid the Gen Fandom again don’t attack anybody THIS IS JUST MY OPINION) is the dumbing down female (and male ngl (my poor Kyouya)) characters for Waifu Slop, people being really against Shiro x Ariel (look you don’t have to ship it but the Grandma thing was clearly a joke and I think people cling to that line of reasoning to be lesbian-phobic. Not all the time, you can just dislike/be icked by that, but the way people say it is off putting af), and people shipping Kyouya x Shiro (look ship whatever you want but the prevalence of this one makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER TO ME??? It feels really random and Comp-Het when I think they give more Mother-Son Vibes. And I feel they’re often mischaracterized in that content too).

Just Kumoko is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES so I have VERY strong opinions on it and sometimes don’t know what to do with that (hey self esteem issues ahahah).

I’m gonna end this by saying sorry I don’t post more but (trying to be positive when the new year is already whipping my ass) THANK YOU for being patient with me or even just stopping by and reading my posts!!!! I like self inserting in shit but i also love shipping!! Here r a few thoughts about sdv ships 💋 (mostly between bachelors)

First of all underrated as hell ship... haley x sebastian.... god the ineffable drip of the goth boy x bimbo ship... they would have the enemies to lovers fuel!! They would hate eachother bc stereotypes but also kind of be into eachother and if you get my gist...they would be ♤ in homestuck lingo... but there's also potential to them discovering a hidden depth in the other ☝🏻 we know haley is very open to trying out new stuff after her character development so she would very much love seb showing her a new side of life she hadn't considered before :)

No brainer but maru x penny feels so right, they're best friends and maru is like, the healthiest most sane person in the valley so penny would feel very safe in that relationship lol

Out of all the 'canon' het ships i think the one i like the most is shane and emily?? I dont like em romantically bc it feels very manic pixie dream girl fixes broken man's life type but it is an interesting dynamic that should be explored more in fics. Em in general is soo underrated i wish more ppl liked her bc she's my favorite bachelorette :(

The 'would-be-canon' ships just feel weird as hell all around bc at least half of them feel like friendships which is cool but the other half feel so forced 🤨 why would the LI have other love interests if at the end of the day nothing happens w em?? Its not like im actively competing with penny to get with sam the girl can barely stand up for herself. And its also not like they will ever get together either!!! Time does not develop for them unless I am there to control it.

My farmer and sebastian have a corny ass romcom plot together bc i started dating seb in order to piss off abigail because i dont like her but jokes on me bc seb became my favorite bachelor and i married him so. Yeah.

I rlly like leahxemily! I feel like they match eachothers vibe and its rlly sad that we never see them interact in canon :(

Hi, just want to say, thanks for your blog. Before I found your blog, I thought I was the weird one for loving "problematic ship". But now, I can be proud of myself (as shipper of Goyuu, Bakudeku, Sebaciel, Ereri, Mobrei, etc)

Can't belive some great Sebaciel blog got reported and now they're gone. Bet if either Sebastian or Ciel were female then it's 'okay' and seen as less problematic.

GMMTV2024 Hopes + Predictions

Predictions:

It's clear that G4 is becoming GMMTV's new BW since ON didn't work out. They will definitely have more concerts, and their ship is too lucrative for GMMTV to NOT give them a series. If they do get another one, I definitely think it'll be another school-based series. One thing is for sure though, they will be working like crazy next year.

While we're on the topic, Gemini might just get his het drama. I think we could even see him star in one of GMMTV's classic ensemble het shows or even a non-romance series. If he gets one, they'll definitely try to make it a non-threatening pair (knowing Thai entertainment it could be a slight age difference pairing).

Possibly another MSP special episode, second season or movie. This is one of my most far-fetched predictions but there's something about how G4 pulled out of 23.5 and Mark pulled out of Cooking Crush that gives me the vibe that they want to have another season of MSP possibly giving more screentime to the TiwPor couple.

There will be another The Warp Effect/Friendzone-esque drama that will introduce a BL pair we never knew we wanted. Maybe Lee Thanat X other seasoned GMMTV actor..

If MilkLove shows promise, ViewJune will get a GL.

Hot take but I think we'll get another PerthChimon-led series. GMMTV DUMPED budget into them and, barring a disaster, I can't see them fading the same way ON did.

We will continue to see JoongDunk have international fanmeets, concerts, etc. I can even see GMMTV focusing less on making a good series for them and more on selling tickets and merch.

OffGun will not have a series next year.

I have no basis for this prediction but I feel like either Tay, Off, or Perth will get a movie. (watch me be wrong lol).

One of the babies will get their first puppy love BL, probably near direct knock-offs of either Bad Buddy or MSP, since those were massively successful. My bet is on Indy or Ohm (not a baby but we move) leading. Chokun or Java could be a second lead/part of the second couple.

A GMMTV basement dweller (e.g., Podd, Pleum Pongpisal, etc.) will have their 2023 Gawin moment and resurrect their BL career with a more established, yet unpaired GMMTV actor.

The thing is that it's incredibly hard to built a healthy marriage when it's based on the resentment of being a forced one (also that thing about women not being able to see their family once they move to their husband family registry thats hm... thats not helping). For the love and sexuality part, I think they do have love for each other as partners who were together for years, not a romantic one like you say. The thing about sleeping in separate room I think it's more of a traditional thing that specific choice.

I don't really want to weigh too much on Natsuhi's sexuality, or a lot of other characters very hard tbh (I see that as a catbox too a lot of time, happy for the EvaNatsu and those who don't like it. And some of my friends are EvaNatsus i support with all my heart lol) because theres also a lot of cultural and time period context to take in consideration. There was a lot of expectations around a woman's sexuality that usually normalized being repressed and unsatisfied (whether they were het or not but if they were not, it was even harder to figure it out because "well i guess its normal for a woman to never find pleasure with a man/never have desire for a man because they have natural low sex drive and sex is just useful for kids" kind of thing.) so she could be ace, or lesbian or both or something else, totally, but theres a lot of baggage around it. I'm not going to debate all of that lol.

As for Jessica, I think she especially suffers from them not being able to communicate with her outside of criticisms (especially from Natsuhi). I think Natsuhi is trying to connect with her daughter (conflict is a way to maintain a relationship), she just... doesn't know how to convey her thoughts... Which is too bad :(

I remember how I binge watched the first five seasons of Supernatural (there were more after that but my internal system said stop so I stopped) and dipped my toes just long enough to encounter some of the most delusional rpf shippers I ever had the displeasure of encountering. That fandom was so weird - sorry to shit talk them but some pockets were really repellent - that I didn't last there very long.

I also remember watching two British YouTubers do the most gay shit ever with each other as a fourteen year old and having to gaslight myself because one of them had proclaimed he was straight. Do you know those annoying people who go around saying don't assume anyone's sexuality but only do it when someone's assumed to be gay? That was me at fourteen. Only for both of them to come out years later and buy a house together. Coincidentally I had also come out in that time period lol

The sum result is I make no assumptions of anything. Most shippers are dead wrong about everything but it's also not impossible that two attractive people who see each other every day and work together might possibly be attracted to each. Maybe people are gay, maybe they're not. If they're in the closet, there's probably a good reason why. Don't try to out them, don't force them into weird het narratives but also don't force them into weird romantic narratives with each other either.

This is a very healthy take to have regarding shipping. Those experiences you encountered sound awful and I'm glad you adopted a healthy mindset because of that.

Nothing is impossible and not everything is possible but we won't know the entire truth ever. And we are not meant to know. Because these are not characters with a storyline but actual humans.

Sadly, I think that many people feel like they are owed the truth so they take it upon themselves to fill in the blanks of what we don't know and end up creating characters out of the guys and invalidating real things for the sake of a ship.

I can't stress this enough:

As someone who has been in fandoms with toxic shipping environments, ship whatever the fuck you want. You enjoying a ship doesn't effect anyone. Your ship doesn't stop me from having my cornflakes in the morning, your ship doesn't stop me from working, your ship doesn't make me lose sleep.

If someone is bothered by your ship, they are choosing that for themselves. That is their problem, not yours. Regardless of whether your ship is gay, het, canon, non-canon, taboo or anything else.

The only time you should check yourself as a shipper is when you are trying to force others to endorse your ships. Or if you are pushing it on others who don't want to talk about it.

Healthy shipping is a two way street, it requires both parties to understand that it's SUBJECTIVE and PERSONAL.

I've been a shipper now for 15 years and being a homestuck taught me so much about toxic shipping culture. Ship gatekeeping etc... especially when I started receiving death threats for shipping dirkdave. But no one batted an eyelid when I shipped windicuffs.

That’s not what I meant about shipping. There’s shipping A (thinking two people are cute together) and shipping B (making or sharing fanfic, art, edits about real people.) Most people that are anti RPF are against the latter. The former is mostly grounds for speculation, which has its own group of critics. Most het shippers fall in shipping A category and slash shippers in shipping B category. Larries are interesting because most of the fandom falls in column A and column B.

Speculating that two people are in a relationship isn't shipping. Noticing that two people are in a relationship, but are forced to hide it isn't shipping. Wanting two people to be together because of your own desires is shipping and expressing and honering that relationship through art and fan fiction is shipping. So anti RPF people are basically against shipping when it comes to real people. And you making a destinction A and B where the divide is het shipping (which is okay) and slash shipping (less okay) does read a bit homophobic, i have to say.

Also, the reason why slash shippers are writing more fics, doing more art and edits is because of lack of canonical gay relashionships and gay representation. Het shippers don't need to do this, because they can open any book and read about het relationships, and they can look at any art and see love between a man and a woman. So they way het shippers express themselves is usually through projecting onto the woman in the relationship. There is also nothing stopping a man and a woman from being together (if you don’t ship two people married to other people like Ryan Reynolds with Victoria Beckham), so het shippers usually only ship people where it's suggested there is something there (like Sidney Sweeney and Glen Powell).

Larries aren’t shippers at all. It's sort of offensive that you think i've been here for over a decade because i badly need these two men to be together. I came into this fandom because i thought they were together and were already out! I thought how brave of them and how refreshing. I want to support them and their music. And then it turned out they were actually forcibly closeted and trying to tell us how much they love each other through signalling to the fandom. The shipping aspect of the larry fandom (art and fanfiction) is scondary to supporting H and L against a homophobic industry. I don't think there are any larries who is like "I don't care about how H and L and their relationship are repressed and that they are forced to stunt, look at the new fic i just posted instead".

Larries are people who recognise love between to people who are forced to hide it. Larries are supporting their want to be together and to be open about it. If they weren't actually together, there would probably be a lot of larry shippers, because of their chemisty, who would want them to be together. I think there's currently very few larry shippers in this fandom. Because after all these years, either you know they're actually together or you buy into the enemy narrative and think that shipping them would be hurtful to them. So the current number of larry shippers is low. You are either all in or all out.

Anyways, i think anti RPF people need a long and hard think about why they deem something as okay and other things as not okay, and if any of this is rooted in homophobia or if it's about their own lack of understanding the inportance of representation, and of normalisation of gay relashionships...
