yeah overall more toned down music this week coz i've been working later and later into the night so my music has been getting chiller/smoother/calmer but it's a vibe

BTBT - kpop! i don't really listen to kpop all that much anymore (although i really like iu, she's cool :D) but i like the synths in this song and devita's smooth voice works really well here it gives like a very soooooothing + calm vibe that works really well the later it gets into the night. i do not really like soulja boy's part but i guess you win some you lose some m

succession main theme s1 - i've only seen 1 ep and i'm not hooked yet but the soundtrack is goated i like the theme very much. it has all the tritones and weird chords and all that good stuff. is vaguely jazzy to me but that could also just be the chords anyway it's good i recommend listening to soundtrack

street by street - i love laufey's voice (alto supremacy i used to be an alto my voice changed and now i am a soprano big sad) and it's *jazz* which is nice. street by street is super chill and its jazzy and i like very much go listen. (i don't listen to a lot of laufey and i don't know why coz she's great but yeah street by street is lovely)

one of the drunks - i love patd. i love patd. i love patd. go listen to one of the drunks. (has similar vibe to BTBT but it's patd style)

quand c'est? - one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard dear god it's so good. "quand c'est" kind of sounds like "cancer" in french and the song has a doubleish meaning with how stromae's mom (?) had cancer it's a good song it's kinda sad if you understand french but i do not so :(

a small child came into the café today and asked to buy a chocolate truffle. he tapped a credit card on the reader and it did not go through, mainly because it was not a credit card but in fact a junior cinema pass. i gently explained he couldn't use that to buy things in shops and he looked so gutted that i was like "...but just this once you can have it for free, don't tell my boss though" he said thank you and walked out with his truffle and as he went i heard him chuckling to himself and saying "yes..... yes!!!!!" like the sickos comic

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

really i think step one of really digging your teeth and nails into a work of fiction is to surgically excise the buzzwords "media" and "consuming media" and possibly even "entertainment" from your brain and instead try grafting in the terms "fiction" and "engaging with art". step two is to have fun and be yourself!
