so Merlin was most definitely malnourished before Camelot bc Ealdor definitely didn't have enough food for everyone. And one of the side affects of malnourishment in childhood is stunted growth. Merlin was one of those kids who was malnourished, but he is still taller then Arthur (not by a lot, but still taller). Arthur, who is a prince with more then enough food to help him grow. Even Gwaine's shorter than him (he's a noble, so it isn't malnutrition). It also can't be blamed on genetics, Hunith is quite short and Balinor is (I think) 6'0 something. Hell he's even taller/same height as many of the knights/guards we see!!!
So my question is, how tall would Merlin have been if he had the same resource's as Arthur, Leon or Gwaine??

Having stunted growth is being a young adult, complaining about a loose tooth, then very quickly having to tell the wide eyed people around you that you still have baby teeth

Today I was thinking about Spider getting taken in by the Sully's, getting adopted, feeling like he got everything he ever wanted and was as happy as he could be but still feeling like. It's not enough. Like he was missing time, like he's always making up for missed time with them. He can't ever have those years without them back, and no amount of time forward will make up for the past. No one else gets it, why sometimes he'd just rather stay home and weave baskets with Neytiri and Tuk, or just follow Jake around when he goes to boring meetings, instead or going out and having fun with his friends. Emotionally he's years behind.
The person who is the closest to getting it is Tuk. Sometimes Tuk just wants to sit in someone's lap while she plays, because she's little and sometimes she needs to be cuddled by her mom. Some days Spider literally can't let one of them out of his sight or something catastrophic will happen. Emotionally he needs a cuddle.

anyway my opinion on the eggs being gone is that the Federation has had certain controls on them for a long time, creating certain conditions in which they wouldn't hatch. This is why their first disappearance happened. They had begun to hatch, and the Federation needed to keep their shells in check, because as long as the eggs remain in their shells the federation has control over their lives system and the islanders.
This is also what happened with their pre-purgatory disappearance, and their hospitalization by the federation was a measure to keep them from hatching as well.
Since then, the Federation created Cucurucho cookies, which have certain hormone blockers that kept the eggs from growing further.
But with the eggs going into comas and not having cookies for so long... they began hatching. And they saw an opportunity for freedom, to be away from the island.
They love their parents, but baby dragons need time to explore, they need to stake their claims on the world and claim territory to feel truly at home. Most parents took this roughly. Some didn't even get a goodbye at all before their children felt that wanderlust and had to go.
They may return eventually, as adults, to lay eggs of their own. But for now? It's time for baby dragons to be free.

I've witnessed first hand how fucking awful an overly controlling and manipulatuve mother can be.
It destroys your mental health. It makes you question your own worth and intelligence. It makes you unsure of who or what to believe. It makes you terrified of others perceiving you in anything but a positive light. And that's just mentally.
When people say Riddle's backstory was "tame" I want to strangle them because no, no it fucking wasn't. Just because she (supposedly) isn't beating him doesn't mean he has a "less bad" or "less tragic" childhood.

I don't think Mangey would be tallest. He's been scavenging for food for, most likely, his whole life. That'd stunt his growth lol Sails would be the tallest for sure
I have a better idea
Sonic remains tallest (please as an eldest sibling who's experienced the height curse let me have this)

httyd book fandom, how big do we think toothless ended up getting over the course of hiccup’s life? i know the books say that he barely grew at all but tbh i half-disregarded that information because there’s no way he barely grew physically over like ~80 years 💀 i just assume they meant mentally

Actually the reason behind the Succession Wedding Curse is that this family can have no new beginnings their family tradition is grief and horror and abuse and death and they never really welcome anyone new into the fold bc they’re so insulated (I suspect this is the point of all the incest jokes, they keep their power consolidated to an incestuous degree, allegorical incest if you will) a cycle that allows no love and no joy and ironically ensures the family’s downfall by allowing no room for said family to grow beyond its shallow roots

“America first” indeed.
Bad when America does it, ❤️ when Russia does it.
I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve had to do a quick double take to see if it was a tankie or a rightwing Republican talking. If you examine it and listen closely, it’s really amazing how much their rhetoric overlaps. Sometimes the Venn diagram is just a big ole circle, which isn’t surprising because both parties care about the suffering of others ONLY if they like the people being harmed. Otherwise it’s cool indifference or worse, because they’re good with authoritarianism, imperialism and colonialism, because “communism” ☭ or some such bullshit. Completely morally and intellectually inconsistent with the beliefs they espouse.
Indistinguishable from conservative rhetoric.

I gotta say. Looking back on it, there’s no real reason that the Full Moon Deal even needs to exist.
Like, Stolas fully could have let Blitzø know he needed the book back on the full moon, and then just asked if he wanted to have messy hook ups when he dropped the book off for the night in addition to whatever other hook ups they may want to have with each other in their day to day lives. (More below cut)
There would still be some power imbalances there obviously, but I feel like that’s a much better jumping off point for a “complicated/messy queer relationship” than “if you have sex with me once a month I’ll let you keep my book that your business needs to stay afloat”
Have the relationship start with some power imbalances regarding Stolas and Blitzø’s class, maybe have Blitzø be anxious about Stolas potentially taking the book back permanently but without any transactional deal—this makes it clearer that Blitzø is more worried about not being good enough or being rejected by Stolas.
Establish that Stolas lets Blitzø know he can use the book whenever, and wants Blitzø to have access of it no-strings-attached with the only exception being the night of the full moon, and have difficulty understanding why Blitzø gets anxious about it.
Stolas could misunderstand Blitzø’s insecurities and think the issue is just about money—he offers to pay for everything having to do with I.M.P. and insults Blitzø in the process, since Blitzø wants to be a self-made Imp.
Due to Stolas’ class he can’t understand why Blitzø doesn’t want help with money or why giving I.M.P. money is any different from giving them his grimoire to use.
If there’s no threat of the book being taken away if Blitzø doesn’t want to have sex with Stolas, if they’re just friends with benefits, the conflict can revolve more around their inability to communicate well with each other and realize their true feelings.
Maybe they get into a fight because Blitzø can’t believe or struggles to believe that Stolas will never get bored of him and take the book back for good, despite Stolas reassuring him that won’t happen.
You can honestly have the EXACT same conflict where they both begin to catch deeper feelings, but because it’s always been about sex between the two of them, Blitzø still thinks that’s all Stolas is interested in, and Stolas takes this as a rejection. It’s the same conflict as in the show proper, but there’s not this weird quid pro quo situation dangling over Blitzø.
These are just a BUNCH of ideas I’m kinda bouncing around, but the main point is that the conflict between the two would be free-er to go different places, and would be more focused on Stolas and Blitzø learning to navigate their own feelings minus the whole “if Blitzo says no to Stolas or the deal, there’s a very real chance he’ll lose his business and everything he’s worked for”.
In hindsight, the Full Moon deal and everything surrounding it and Stolas’ season 1 characterization makes it clearer than ever that they never had a plan for this show’s story when they started to make it.
With the development of this whole story arc it just becomes more and more evident that they wrote the Full Moon Deal in as a way to explain why Blitzø would ever continue sleeping with Stolas, instead of just like. Writing Blitzø as actually wanting to have consensual sex with Stolas.
I’m sure there’s something I probably forgot or like…some plot hole fans know about that “proves” the Full Moon Deal was the only way to do things but like. Even so, I just don’t see why it needed to be a thing at all if Stolitz was endgame.
