Suegiku: Jouno prefers hand kisses || Tecchou's hands are warmer
The familiar weight on Tecchou’s chest shifts until a pair of lips lazily land on his jaw. They attempt to trail down his neck but it seems like Jouno gives up halfway to simply rest his head on Tecchou’s shoulder again. He’s tired—they both are, drained from days spent on a mission with no proper rest. Despite catching a full night of sleep, Tecchou doesn’t see himself or Jouno doing much today. Not even getting out of bed, probably.
He has mixed feelings about that. Over the past few months, he’s learned to give his body and mind more time to recover than just the bare minimum. Before, he always tried to push himself up again the second life returned to his bones. It’s hard to get rid of old habits and Tecchou feels his fingers itch to get back to training but he doesn’t want to force Jouno out of bed either. He knows they both have to rest.
No matter if it’s intentional or not, Jouno is the only thing stopping him from slipping back into that habit.
Tecchou sighs as he tries to satisfy that annoying itch by reaching for Jouno’s hand. Without looking, he finds it eventually.
Jouno’s hands are always cold. They make shivers run down Tecchou’s spine whenever he uses them to touch his neck from behind with a mischievous smirk, or when they carefully roam his body. They’re cold when Tecchou holds them and Jouno complains that he’s like a furnace, even though they both know he doesn’t mean it negatively despite his tone.
Now, Jouno doesn’t say anything. He simply lets Tecchou guide his hand up with a gentle grip before he places a kiss on each knuckle. Slowly, lingering on every single one for a bit before moving on. The cold doesn’t bother him now or ever. It feels nice against his chapped lips, and it feels nice to leave light kisses on his partner’s softer hands.
Jouno sighs. Not in annoyance, for once. He sounds content and melts into Tecchou’s chest a bit further.

Suegiku forever plagues me.
Anyways, my most recent thought has been
Jouno: whos rlly picky
and
Tetchō: who will eat EVERYTHING.
Jouno doesn’t like cucumbers and the salad place put cucumbers in his salad? Don’t worry Tetchō will take them.
Olives an issue? GONE. (olive theory :3)
Carrots?? DONE.
Spinach? DONT EVEN WORRY ABT IT
The day Jouno eats everything on his plate is the day Tetchō dies.
inspired bc my picky sister REFUSES to eat,and has NEVER had bread, cheese, blueberries, or any kind of green vegetable EVER. and yes, there’s health issues…. so i don’t recommend doing the same :( ❤️

endearing bastard || suegiku sickfic
ao3! 2.9k - please refer to the tags in the link for content + warnings! sicktember 2023, day 10: “The only place we’re going is to the pharmacy”
“Tecchou,” Jouno starts with a heavy sigh.
Every sign he’s observed in the first five minutes of meeting Tecchou this morning has pointed to proof that his fellow Hunting Dog has come to work with some kind of illness. Unsteady breaths, gurgling from his stomach, groans quiet enough for only Jouno to hear.
“Yes?” Tecchou starts. They’re both an hour early. Completely unnecessarily, really. Jouno started showing up five minutes early to their meetings, and out of pettiness, Tecchou being showing up ten minutes before him. And now, they’ve done it so many times that they’ve reached an hour.
“Go home. You’re sick,” Jouno grumbles. He really doesn’t want to argue with him. Tecchou is stubborn and difficult to reason with. It’s hard to get a lot of things through that thick skull of his.
"But we have to report to the captain today," Tecchou murmurs. So he’s not denying that he’s sick. That’s good, he thinks, but it might be bad that he’s sick enough to know he can’t hide it from Jouno.
"I'll report to him. The only place you're going to is the pharmacy."
Jouno lands a hand on Tecchou’s arm and snakes it down to his wrist before he starts pulling him in the direction of the exit from where they stand in one of the halls on the first floor of the building. Tecchou’s arm is warm. The heat is already radiating through the sleeve.
Tecchou only makes it a few steps before he stubbornly plants his feet on the floor. Stubbornness aside, he’s physically much stronger than Jouno. Jouno couldn’t deadweight carry someone like Tecchou even if his life depended on it.
"Do you really think you're in any condition to work today? Be serious," Jouno huffs. He'd really like to get that through Tecchou's thick skull, but he doesn't seem to understand it at all. He uses his teeth to pull off his glove, and brings his hand back up to Tecchou's forehead, gently pressing his palm against his skin. He's much warmer there as opposed to his arm. If he had to guess, that's at least a hundred-and-one fever, and the way his stomach is gurgling isn't a good sign either.
"But you've come to work sick before, Jouno," Tecchou eventually says, his voice a little softer than normal.
Jouno groans. He should have known that argument was coming. He slides his glove back on. "So you think that because I do it, that it's okay for you to? If I jumped off a cliff, would you?"
"Depending on the circumstance -"
"Oh my god, shut up. We're taking you to the pharmacy. End of story," Jouno huffs, his hand snaking back down to find Tecchou's. This time, he interlocks their fingers, and starts to pull him back down the hall. "And then you're going to stay at home and rest."
“What about the captain?” Tecchou mumbles, not sounding very on board with this plan, but at least he’s following Jouno.
“I’ll call Teruko and fill her in. You call a cab.”
And so, they do just that. Tecchou stands outside as he calls a cab, and Jouno asks his phone to call Teruko, who responds just as annoyed as he would expect her to. He assures her that no, it’s no disrespect to captain Fukuchi, that Tecchou is truly ill and Jouno is simply escorting him home.
“Are you taking him home to his place? Or yours?” Teruko asks, just as Jouno was planning on hanging up.
He pauses. He feels his ear start to get hot, wondering if maybe she’s onto something. “Why does that matter?”
“Just curious,” she says rather mischievously. “Bye-bye, Jouno.”
“Bye, Teruko,” he grumbles with uncertainty as he steps out of the building, hearing the taxi cab approach from the distance.
“Why do you need to come with me?” Tecchou asks as Jouno steps in line beside him.
“Because I don’t trust you to take care of yourself,” Jouno says, and for some reason, that stops any additional questions from Tecchou. The two of them climb in the taxi cab, and Jouno requests they be taken near the shopping district near where their apartments are, to the nearest pharmacy. The driver apparently nods, quietly pointed out to Jouno by Tecchou.
Tecchou is quiet for most of that ride, but the gurgling sounds of his stomach don’t seem to be getting any better. They coincide with the irregular nature of his breathing, and that makes it clear enough that Tecchou is nauseous. Jouno wonders if he’s had anything to eat, or if this is a symptom of his illness. Probably the latter.
“Flu?” Jouno asks.
“Not sure,” Tecchou says quietly, almost embarrassed, but he seems to recognize that Jouno will not take silence for an answer. “Maybe.”
“How long have you been sick for?” Jouno asks him.
“Two…two or three days, maybe,” Tecchou says.
“And it’s worse today?” Jouno asks. He hasn't seen him the last few days. Tecchou had a few days off while Jouno was working with Tachihara on a Port Mafia related matter.
“Yes,” Tecchou admits.
Jouno doesn’t understand him. Maybe it’s because of how being ill messes with his senses, but he would never want to endure multiple says of being ill without seeing a doctor, or taking some kind of medication. Tecchou is really far too stubborn for his own good.
“If it’s a flu, we’ll get you some flu medication and see how it goes. If you feel worse tomorrow I’m taking you to the doctor,” Jouno says sternly, making sure that Tecchou knows his intentions from the beginning.
“Okay,” Tecchou answers dejectedly.
It’s quiet for the rest of that ride, until they reach the pharmacy in the city.
Jouno and Tecchou enter inside, and Jouno realizes too late they’ve forgotten to change out of their outfits judging by the whispers of police, military and other such things from the staff and patrons. Jouno doesn’t mind too much, it often gains him more respect on account of his disability, but Tecchou doesn’t like using his status to his advantage.
They walk a few steps forward, and before Jouno can ask Tecchou to lead him to where he needs to be, he stops behind him.
"Do you think there's a restroom here?" Tecchou asks quietly.
"Probably in the back,” Jouno says before Tecchou’s footsteps trail away, and he realizes he’s on his own. He doesn’t like doing things like this. There are certain things that his hearing is incredibly helpful for, and this is not one of them. He’s certainly more suited for combat and investigative work, not navigating a pharmacy.
He doesn’t like asking for help, but he’ll do it for Tecchou.
He follows the sounds of the register - the drawers opening and closing, beeps from scanning items, and heavy foot traffic, and he stands himself at the front as the last patron exits the store.
“Excuse me,” he says sternly. “I’m looking for a good flu medication.”
A woman starts to speak. “Oh, yes, sir. There’s a few options down in the isle behind - “
“I’m blind,” he tells her before she can give any further directions.
“Oh! I’m so sorry. I’ll go find one for you, sir,” she says, stepping out from behind the register.
“That’s fine. I’ll wait here,” he says as she scurries off to one of the many isles behind him. He starts to hear whispers from some others behind the counter, comments about a blind soldier, and things he would rather tune out. Jouno can usually count on Tecchou to argue back, even when it's not his place to. He can hear him in his head. You have no right to say things like that. Please mind your own business.
He smiles to himself. He’s ridiculous, really.
He hears Tecchou’s footsteps get closer. His stride is very distinct. He carries himself well, but even today, Jouno can tell he's getting sluggish. He tries to listen for other signs, but the scurried footsteps of the cashier return, and she steps behind the cashier.
“Here you are, sir. Is this for you? Or - ”
“Thank you. It’s not for me. I can have him read the instructions himself,” Jouno says, gesturing with his head toward Tecchou as the woman scans the medication.
They're out of the pharmacy before long and Tecchou leans against the outside of the building after he finishes his call for a cab.
“Did you ask someone for help?” Tecchou asks. He sounds surprised.
“Don’t act like I can’t do it myself. It would have just taken me longer," Jouno insists. He'd like to not admit that it would have been virtually impossible to pick out a medication without already being familiar with how each and every container is shaped, and how the pills sound in the bottles. He only recognizes what's in his own collection at home.
Tecchou almost responds, but he's interrupted by a quiet groan, and stifles a near silent burp into his fist.
"Did you throw up?" Jouno asks him, realizing he missed something. "In the bathroom?"
"Mhm," he mumbles.
Jouno sighs. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Tecchou is quiet for a few moments, like he's confused. "I just told you."
"I know that. Just…" Jouno sighs again. He finds himself doing that incredibly often around Tecchou. Jouno, personally, hates throwing up. He doesn't understand how Tecchou shrugs it off to easily. "Tecchou, you can't come to work when you're feeling this bad. It's not good for you or anyone else."
"Okay."
"Okay?" Jouno raises a brow.
"I won't do it again," Tecchou elaborates. "I just didn't want to disappoint you."
"Tecchou, you're not…" Jouno groans. He wonders if there's any point convincing him otherwise. "Let's go home. You should rest."
Tecchou confuses him. He’s so weirdly competitive, but then in moments like these, he shows that weakness. That he’s only trying to compete with Jouno to prove himself, for some odd reason.
“I can go home by myself. It doesn’t make sense to trouble you," Tecchou insists.
“Don’t be stupid. I'm telling the driver to take you to my place and I’ll take care of you,” Jouno says as if it’s the only viable option.
“Why?” Tecchou asks.
“What do you mean, why?” Jouno thinks he's more confused than Tecchou is.
“Why do you want to? What difference does it make?” Tecchou asks. It sounds like a genuine question. Like he’s confused about it.
“You’ve done it for me,” Jouno says. "And, I…you know."
He can practically hear Tecchou tilt his head.
"Ugh, don't make me say it," Jouno grumbles.
"I can't read your mind, Jouno," Tecchou reminds him. He almost sounds like he’s teasing. He’s getting harder and harder to read, these days.
"I care about you, idiot," Jouno huffs, feeling his ears heat up before he turns his head away, making sure Tecchou won’t be able to see his reddening face. "Where's that damn cab?"
Tecchou is quiet after that, and the short taxi ride back, too.
They make it to Jouno's apartment without incident.
He holds his key card up to the door handle and he lets the two of them inside. Jouno won’t mind a little day off, and he’s sure Tecchou could use it, too, especially while he’s unwell.
“You can change. I’m sure I have something that fits you in my closet. Just hang up your uniform on the coat rack, and don’t forget it like you did last time,” Jouno says as he wanders off to his bedroom. He’s pretty certain that he has some of Tecchou’s clothes in his closet. He remembers finding unfamiliar clothing in his laundry the other week.
He finds one of his old shirts and a pair of sweatpants just as Tecchou shuffles into the bedroom, and Jouno tosses them over to him as he sits down on the bed. Jouno’s still deciding on what he wants to wear, but he doesn’t hear Tecchou making any effort to get changed.
"Jouno," Tecchou starts.
"What is it?" Jouno sighs. He hopes he doesn’t have a complaint about the outfit choice. It’s not like they’re going somewhere.
"I'm sorry," Tecchou says quietly.
Jouno lowers his arms and turns around. “If any of this were actually a problem for me, I would have ignored you at headquarters and made you deal with it yourself, Tecchou.”
Tecchou doesn’t have anything to say to that. He’s concerned about his behavior. Maybe his fever is just throwing him off kilter or something, or maybe Jouno just hasn’t seen how he acts when he’s not feeling well. He busies himself with hanging up his own uniform, not caring much that he’s changing right in front of Tecchou. He’s seen him do it before.
“Are you changed?” Jouno asks as he slips a shirt on. He hears Tecchou hum something sounding like a yes. “Read the instructions on the medication. You should go ahead and take a dose.”
“Can I wait a minute?” Tecchou asks.
“Why?” Jouno huffs. He pauses for a second, before he realizes the sounds coming from Tecchou’s stomach are a bit too wild for his liking. “Are you about to throw up?”
“I think so,” he murmurs.
“Well then get to the bathroom, you idiot,” Jouno sighs, not bothering with his sweatpants in that moment, taking Tecchou’s wrist and leading him to the bathroom.
Tecchou gets ahead of him with a pained groan as he drops onto his knees in front of the toilet, and before Jouno can even kneel down beside him, he hears him gag and choke before he brings up a mouthful or two of vomit, splashing into the toiler water below. Jouno hates that sound, and normally he wouldn’t stay with anyone through something like this - it’s far too much auditory stimulation for someone like him, but he feels guilty leaving Tecchou alone when he’s feeling so unwell.
He has a pretty strong stomach most of the time. He can drink without suffering hangovers, he can eat those ridiculous food combinations without having to deal with so much as a tummyache, and he never seems to deal with headaches or migraines like Jouno does. He’s not used to feeling miserable like this. He doesn’t show it easily, but Jouno can hear the little whines and whimpers from the back of his throat, moans of discomfort as he lets the drool pooling in his mouth drip into the toilet.
“Maybe this is what you get for eating crap all of the time,” Jouno teases as he rubs his back, a little unnerved by how warm his skin is feeling.
Jouno thinks that he really doesn’t feel good. He doubts it has anything to do with Tecchou’s strange diet habits, because he’s running a fever and he doesn’t even have the energy to put up with Jouno’s teasing. He tries to hide a burp by closing his mouth but it’s accompanied by a gag that he can’t hold back, and he throws up again. He sighs to himself and Jouno feels him lean forward and lay his head down on the toilet seat.
“Hey,” he starts, sneaking a hand under his shirt as he leans against him to rub circles into his slightly bloated tummy. “You shouldn’t lay there. Let’s go to bed.”
“I don’t want to get up,” Tecchou murmurs quietly, spitting out a wad of saliva.
“I’ll help you,” Jouno insists. He can’t carry Tecchou, he’s sure of that, but the least he can do is provide him some support. “Do you think you’re done for now?”
“Mhm,” Tecchou murmurs. “Can you…can you keep a trash bin by your bed?”
“I can do that,” Jouno agrees. That tells him Tecchou must not feel much better after that. Maybe he’ll really have to take him to the doctor sooner rather than later. He hates that he feels like this.
Tecchou groans as he forces himself up off the floor, evidently much more fatigued and weak than he was initially letting on. Jouno’s glad he managed to convince him to come here, he doesn’t want to think about what would have happened if he stayed at work.
Jouno takes his arm and leads him back to his bedroom, and the latter crawls into bed and under the covers without needing to be told, thankfully. Maybe he’ll give him some time for his stomach to settle before he makes him take any medication. It doesn’t make sense to do that while he’s feeling so nauseous.
Jouno sets the trash bin on the nightstand beside where Tecchou has claimed a spot, and climbs into bed beside him with a deep sigh. His hand snakes around until he finds the hem of Tecchou’s shirt, and he lays it over his tummy, continuing to rub gentle circles into his warm skin.
"I can still hear your stomach gurgling," Jouno tells him quietly. "Do you still feel nauseous?"
Tecchou hums something, but that's all Jouno hears. That’s impressive, Jouno can usually tell what he’s saying no matter what.
"What was that?" Jouno asks.
Tecchou's quiet, now. Jouno almost says it again, before he hears a quiet snore. Tecchou has always been quick to fall asleep, and especially now.
“I’ll take you to the doctor if you don’t feel any better after your nap,” Jouno says, sinking his head into his pillow, scooting a little closer to Tecchou, keeping his hand where it is. He hopes he can soothe him a little, even while he’s falling asleep. “Sleep well, Tecchou.”
Tecchou snores in response, and Jouno’s annoyed by the way the corners of his own lips start to turn upward.
Stupid endearing bastard.

Fill In The Colors I Cannot Gaze Upon
Bsd, Suegiku
1k Words
Fluff + Angst
Warning: referenced eye trauma
He wrapped his arms around his knees and held snug.
The wind gently moved through the trees. There were distant heartbeats, footsteps, and other signs of life.
When Jouno was young, he loved to look at the sky. He would count the stars in the sky, figure out what weather it would be the next day off of the color. He loved the skies beauty.
When he lost his sight, he lost many parts of himself. He had to gain back his ability to live properly. His senses needed to be heightened. He had to figure everything out when his vision went out fully.
A pair of footsteps approached behind him. The heaviness of the step and the pattern of which his feet fell helped him determine that it was none other than Tecchou approaching.
The man sat beside him without a word.
Tecchou shuffled beside him.
He opened his mouth to ask why Tecchou had come to sit beside him.
"The sky is beautiful tonight," Tecchou announced. "There are so many stars out."
Jouno nodded. "Yes. What color is the sky?"
"A dark blue mixing with pink."
"Good weather is coming tomorrow then."
"Yeah."
They lapsed into silence. If only for a minute.
"Do you," Tecchou started. "Do you ever wish that you still had your sight? That you could still see the sky."
"Of course," He chuckled. "All of the time. After all, I can't see anything of beauty. I can not even see your face."
"I have light brown eyes."
"What?"
"I have light brown eyes. And I have three little marks beneath my left eye. They make me look cooler, I think. My hair is dark brown. It's really fluffy. In fact, it is a mess. I try to tame it, but it just flies everywhere. And some pieces grow faster than others."
"Really? That must be a struggle."
"It was. I gave up. It just gives me a better overall appearance."
Jouno laughed at the thought.
"Really?"
"Yes."
Jouno placed his hands against the grown and rubbed gently against the grass.
"Is the grass still green?"
"Mostly. Yellow pieces are mixed in. Its starting to dry out a bit."
He smiled.
"And how tan are you?"
"Tanner than most. Yet, I wouldn't say that I am dark."
"I like to try to imagine my surroundings. It's better than seeing nothing."
"I can't imagine only seeing black all of the time."
"I don't see black," Jouno laughed. "I see nothing."
Tecchou sputtered. "Isn't that just black?"
"No, it's nothing."
Tecchou made a few confused noises.
"But.. when you close your eyes, you see black. Wouldn't you just see black?"
"No," He laughed again. "When you close your eyes, you see your eyelids. And plus, it's more dark red. I can't see my eyelids. I can't see anything."
Tecchou shook his head. "I am going to pretend like this makes sense and let it slide for now."
"It is not that confusing."
"It is."
"Okay, okay, how bright are the stars tonight?"
"Bright. Brighter than I have seen them in a long time."
Jouno hums.
"I usually do not look at the sky. You are giving me that opportunity."
"I'm glad."
Tecchou's hand rested on the grass right next to his.
"What other colors do you want to know?"
"What type of top are you wearing? And what is the color?"
"It's dark purple," Tecchou answered. "And it is a hoodie. One without a zipper."
Jouno hummed. "And your pants?"
"Black jeans," Tecchou said. "A singular rip down each knee."
Jouno felt himself smiling.
"I can imagine you a lot better now. Thank you."
"Of course. I may not understand, but that only makes me want to help more."
"I am lost on features a bit. But I have a good understanding. I'm glad you helped me."
Tecchou's hand moved to lay on top of his. He then grabbed the other and pulled them to lay on his face.
"Would this help?"
Jouno gasped.
Nobody had done this much for him. Usually people would find out that he was blind and pretend he wasn't. They would answer little questions, but then not bring it up. Either that or they'd think of themselves as some hero who was going to save him from this disability he didn't know he had.
Tecchou wasn't like either of those. He was taking his time to carefully help him. He wasn't doing it to be selfish. He just wanted to help.
Tears sprung up in his eyes, but he didn't let them shed.
He rubbed his thumbs against Tecchou's cheekbone. It was sharp. His cupids bow wasn't very prominent. His nose wasn't very big or very small.
Tecchou sat there peacefully letting Jouno trace his features.
"I-" Jouno tried. "I think I have a better idea. Thank you."
"Always."
"Thank you."
Jouno felt his heartbeat beating louder.
"Is there anything else you want to know?"
Jouno let out a shaky breath.
"Are you alright?" Tecchou asked in panic.
"Yes," Jouno chuckled. "I'm perfect."
"That's good."
"Your descriptions," Jouno gulped. "You help me fill in that emptiness. There isn't anything I can see. Yet, with how you describe everything, it is almost like I can see it too."
Tecchou gasped.
"I can try and imagine the sky." He let out another shaky breath. "I can try to imagine your face. And it fills up that lack of sight. It gives me something to see again, if only in my mind."
"I'm glad that you feel that way," Tecchou breathed. "People don't understand you, Jouno. And I want to."
"I appreciate that so much. You could not imagine how much I appreciate that, Tecchou."
"I want to understand you. Every part of you."
Jouno's lips tugged into a slight smile.
"Thank you, Tecchou," He said. "Thank you so much."
"Of course," Tecchou giggled. "I am so happy that you appreciate what I am doing."
"I will always appreciate what you do for me."
Tecchou hummed quietly.
"Now. Tell me, Tecchou, is this stone gray, just like I imagine?"

Red Tipped Feathers Bits and Pieces bc I cannot work on Chapter 8 atm
Jouno used to love reading when he was a kid. Him and his sister couldn't afford going to school so they they tried to make up for it by reading up on everything and anything they could find. They would often sneak into schools' and universities' libraries overnight or during storms and instead of actually sleeping, they would spend the time reading. He was lucky for the immense volume of information his brain could absorb in a short time, because he was never allowed to actually take any books with him, since they were heavy and ultimately useless.
At first, his favourite section to raid was the one with detective novels, but as he got older that developed into criminology text books. His sister had to rip the books out of his hands to force him to read about something else and form a general knowledge of every branch of social and natural sciences.
Tecchou's love for cooking actually started way before working at the bakery. The house he lives in now is in fact his childhood home (his parents moved away to live on the northern sea shore because they couldn't stand the extreme weather anymore) and the layout looked a lot different when he was little, since it had to accommodate three people, not one. Also their garden was much smaller, Tecchou's current garden and animal pens are a very recent addition. That put Tecchou's bed in his current living room/dining room/kitchen. Some of his favourite memories of his early childhood are waking up from his afternoon nap to the room being muggy and smelling heavenly, then immediately sitting at the table to watch his mom finish making dinner. He would ask her about the spices she's using and she would let him taste things before and after seasoning them, she taught him how to hold a knife when he was 7, which he fully believes is part of the reason why he's so good with his sword now, and he's been kneading dough since he was 5, whether for bread, dumplings or cookies, he had them all under his belt since before hitting a double digit age.
When Jouno first met Tecchou, he thought he was the most annoying person on earth. He thought his stories were dumb and his voice was grating his ears and he wished he would just leave him alone. But then the night would come and he would find himself constantly thinking about him, belatedly laughing at his jokes. He realized the only reason he disliked him was the fact that he was mortified of being hurt by him. So his initial hatred slowly transformed into neutrality.
Until he got hurt and Tecchou had to bandage him up. He wasn't sure why the spell worked that way, but injuries he got as a human were transferred to his swan body, and vice versa. So when his wing got impaled, so was his arm during the night. Jouno spent days agonizing, sliding from one fever dream into another, unable to move around because of the pain and he supposed he had gotten insanely lucky to have Tecchou treat his wound with some antibiotic.
Speaking of dreams, Jouno realized he might have a problem with Tecchou a couple months in, after waking up in cold sweat from a wet dream. He was so embarrassed he wanted to kill himself (or Tecchou). He only had about an hour until the sun was rising so he hurried to clean his clothes, and he didn't come out of the forest the entire next day, unable to be around Tecchou.
alr I think that's all for today see y'all later

sometimes i wonder if there’s a universe where the Hunting Dogs get to live happy and domestic lives where the world isn’t exploding.
They could just be a small friend group who just go out to have fun and cause mayhem. (that isn’t potentially world ending)
Teruko & Tachihara trying to get Suegiku together
Tachihara introducing Gin to everyone
Jouno & Tachihara getting to continue their close brother-y(?) relationship
Them getting into trouble? Don’t worry Fukuchi is chief police and Teruko is his partner!
FLORIST & TATTOO ARTIST SUEGIKU?!
Tachihara going to school and getting pickup by Teruko in her car with music so loud they probably have ear damage.
Movie nights!!!!
Going apple picking together in the Fall. Pumpkin picking & carving. Making autumn treats, and going into haunted houses and corn mazes.
Making snowmen in the winter and then heading inside for hot chocolate. Going sledding and having snowball fights. Making cookies, peppermint bark, and homemade marshmallows.
Getting together for sleepovers.
Going to Tachihara’s band concerts. HE PLAYS TRUMPET (TRUST ME)
Kenji & Tetcho meeting when Tetcho loses Jouno at the mall.
Fukuchi waking up in the middle of the night to find Teruko, Tachihara, Jouno and Tetcho in his house making food.
‘Peaceful’ days at ______’s house. (redying jouno’s hair, racing on mario kart, fighting on what food to order, rolling around on the floor beating eachother with pillows, raging at board games, taking the most toe curling naps, burning food, jouno losing his earring and suddenly the whole house is on lockdown, Tachi & Tetcho going out back and coming back covered in dirt, Tetcho bringing back wild animals and Jouno scolding him like a mom, Tachihara practicing his trumpet and it sounds horrible)
A group chat where they’re either at each-other’s throats or the bestest of friends. There’s no in between.
Going to the beach and Tachihara looks like a sopping wet kitten because Teruko almost drowned him in the ocean.
Planning & Celebrating Birthdays together.
Vacations
See one of them out n’ about? 100% chance the rest are there too.
I HOPE THE HUNTING DOGS ARE HAPPY AND NORMAL PEOPLE SOMEWHERE IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE‼️‼️‼️‼️
IF ANYONE WRITES ABT THIS PLEASEEEE TELL ME. ❤️❤️❤️

“Jouno? Are you in here?”
Tecchou pokes his head into the restroom, and at first, he’s only met with an echo. Normally, that would be enough evidence for him to continue his search for his colleague elsewhere, but he’s spent the past half hour looking around their headquarters for him with no luck.
So he decides to hang around for just a few more seconds. He knows he can’t outsmart Jouno. If he is in here, he’ll know Tecchou hasn’t left, and he can’t fake footsteps in the other direction, either.
Tecchou leans against the wall in the hallway entrance to the restroom and waits.
“You really piss me off,” the voice finally says. Hoarse and generally sounding unwell. Tecchou had a feeling something wasn’t right with him. He’s been much less hostile today. Honestly, he thinks this is the first rude comment he’s gotten from him all morning. “Don’t you have better things to do than to stalk me, Tecchou?”
Tecchou almost tells him that no, he actually doesn’t have anything better to do, but before he can, he hears Jouno retch so hard that it sounds painful. Tecchou tenses up at the sound of it, and almost expects more comments to follow, but he just ends up breathing heavily for the next few seconds before Tecchou walks further into the bathroom, quickly locating the stall that Jouno is curled up in. His cape and hat are on the floor near the entrance, like he was in a rush to take them off.
“Are you sick?” Tecchou asks, tilting his head at the door.
“Get out of here before I make you leave, Tecchou,” Jouno grumbles, his voice trembling and softer than before, but the threat he’s making is very real.
“I was just asking,” Tecchou defends with a pout. Jouno seems to think Tecchou has some ulterior motives to being a decent human being sometimes. He really doesn’t. He just wants to know what’s going on. “You sound sick.”
“I’m not sick. Go mind your own business,” Jouno huffs. Tecchou sees him shift under the door.
“Did you not just -”
“It’s a headache. And you’re making it worse. So get. Out,” Jouno hisses, injecting far more venom into his tone with that than anything else he’s said today so far.
It’s all starting to make a lot more sense.
Tecchou isn’t sure he would call them simple headaches. What Jouno suffers from must be something closer to migraines, because they really severely debilitate him. Throwing up like this isn’t uncommon for him at all, and voices or sounds of any kind seem to make him feel much, much worse because of those heightened senses he has.
Tecchou understands what he needs to do. Fix everything on the outside, and then go help Jouno.
“I’ll be right back,” Tecchou says, as quietly as he can muster, because he knows Jouno will hear him regardless. He hears Jouno grumble something back, but Tecchou’s already on his way out of the restroom.
Thankfully, he catches sight of another Hunting Dog just as soon as he turns the corner. Tachihara’s a bit late as usual, but on time for him, considering his infiltration job. They had a meeting earlier this morning, and Jouno was the one who offered to pass along that information to Tachihara.
"Tachihara."
"Uh…yeah, Tecchou? What's up?" Tachihara says, looking a bit on edge. Tecchou isn’t sure why. Maybe he should have given him a normal greeting first, but Jouno is his priority right now.
"Tell Fukuchi that Jouno won't be able to finish today. He doesn't feel well," Tecchou says.
"Oh, is…is he okay?" Tachihara asks, his tense expression softening a bit.
“He has a bad headache,” Tecchou explains. He’s almost certain that Jouno can hear him and he’s almost expecting Jouno to suddenly appear between the two of them with a sword jabbed in Tecchou’s foot, but he never does. “Ask Fukuchi or Teruko to relay the information you missed this morning.”
“Oh - yeah, okay,” Tachihara nods. He doesn’t leave right away, interestingly enough. He looks like he wants to, but he stops, and eyes Tecchou again. “Is there - can I do something to help? Should I get one of the nurses?”
“I don’t think that will be necessary,” Tecchou says. He briefly considered that, but Jouno hates receiving medical treatment of any kind. He always says he simply doesn’t need it, but he thinks it’s a very overwhelming process for him.
That’s the worst part of the headaches, Tecchou thinks. Jouno’s senses are so enhanced, and headaches would cause a person with standard senses enough pain as it is, but it’s so much worse for Jouno. He’s able to keep his head high most of the time, but Tecchou knows that everyone has a breaking point, and he’s hit it already. Tecchou thinks he knows what he can do.
“Can you ask the receptionists to clear the top two floors?” Tecchou asks. It’s a reasonable request, he thinks, but Tachihara’s eyes go wide.
“Clear them? Like, everybody out?” Tachihara asks. Tecchou nods back at him. The top two floors aren’t too densely populated, most of the people working up there have the ability to relocate to lower offices, he’s sure.
“That way I can take him up there and he can rest properly,” Tecchou explains. Tachihara seems to be figuring out the reason himself - Jouno wouldn’t be able to rest properly with a headache when there are people around, even on the floor below him. Tachihara is on his way soon enough, albeit hesitantly, and with him informing the rest of the team, all Tecchou needs to do now is get Jouno upstairs.
He walks back into the restrooms, as quietly as he can, but he’s sure in the end it makes no difference to Jouno. He’s quiet again for a few moments, focusing on Jouno’s heavy breathing. One breath ends in a pained groan before he decides to speak again.
“I can just go home, you know,” Jouno mumbles. Tecchou had considered that, but he’s sure it’s more of a last resort option than preferred - Jouno gets terrible motion sickness, and he doesn’t live close to their headquarters at all. That drive would just make him so much more miserable.
Tecchou brandishes his blade and extends it to travel over the door and unlock the stall with ease before placing it back in its sheath. He opens the door, which, to his surprise, makes an awful, high-pitched squeak, even loud for himself - Jouno, who has tucked himself in between the wall and the toilet, brings his hands up to his ears and almost whimpers. Tecchou isn’t used to hearing sounds like that from him.
“I’ll make sure they fix that,” Tecchou says in a whisper as he kneels down in front of Jouno. He studies his face for a moment. He’s incredibly pale, something he’d already taken note of earlier. There’s so much tension around his eyes, his face is so twisted up from the pain he’s feeling.
“I don’t get you,” Jouno barely manages. It almost sounds like he’s about to start crying, with the way his voice breaks at the end there.
Tecchou doesn’t entertain his taunts.
“Let’s go upstairs,” Tecchou says, reaching his hand out to graze Jouno’s as an offer to help him up, but Jouno only uses that hand to swat him away.
“I don’t need your help. Go find something better to do. Watch some ants or something,” Jouno groans as he uses the bar on the wall to help himself stand, but the way his legs are shaking is proof enough that he won’t make it very far. Tecchou lets him try, though, maybe he’ll prove him wrong - he backs up as Jouno leaves the stall, and he briefly slides in to flush the toilet. He’s concerned with how little he's actually thrown up. His guess is that he’s been dealing with this all morning and hasn’t eaten anything as a result.
Tecchou wishes he had noticed sooner. Jouno’s very good at hiding when he’s in pain.
Jouno kneels down to pick up his hat and cape with a shaky hand, but Tecchou’s faster than him, he takes both off of the floor and starts to neatly fold the cape. Jouno has this way of glaring at Tecchou without using his eyes. Scary.
“At least let me do this,” Tecchou says.
“You’ve done enough already. Stop bothering me,” Jouno grumbles as he tries to stand himself up, but evidently, he does it far too quickly - his expression relaxes and Tecchou thinks he’s fainted, just for a second, so he takes his arm into a firm grip to steady him.
“Are you alright?” Tecchou asks. Jouno hasn’t completely gone limp, he’s still standing against Tecchou, so thankfully he didn’t completely pass out. “Did you stand too fast?”
“Just take me upstairs,” Jouno mumbles, and Tecchou does as he’s asked. That was his plan anyway, he’s just glad Jouno has realized he can’t fight him on it anymore. Tecchou lays the back of his wrist over Jouno’s forehead just to make sure he isn’t running a temperature. It’s warm, but not any warmer than it should be.
The elevator is just down the hallway, but Tecchou doesn’t rush him. He has Jouno’s arm securely hooked within his. He’s slower than normal. He must still be in pain. Tecchou wonders if the act of walking is what’s painful, and for a second, he thinks about carrying him there instead.
“I’m not letting you carry me here,” Jouno huffs as they make it to the elevator. Tecchou presses the button. Tecchou doesn’t think Jouno can actually read minds. He’s just really good at making assumptions.
“Here? So you’d let me do it elsewhere?” Tecchou asks, purely out of curiosity, before they enter the elevator.
Jouno groans. “I really can't stand you, Tecchou."
That's not a no.
Once they’re inside, Jouno inadvertently answers Tecchou’s question and lays his head on Tecchou’s shoulder with a quiet, shaky sigh. He wraps his other arm around Tecchou’s for just a second before the elevator slows to their floor, and he slides his arm out as the doors open. Tecchou could feel his cheeks getting warm.
Tecchou still walks with him down to the end of the hallway. There’s a room with bunk beds they often use to rest in case they can’t go home for any reason. Tecchou wonders why he didn’t go here in the first place, so he could at least lay down - maybe he really couldn’t make it there by himself.
Jouno breaks off from him once they make it inside the room. He lays Jouno’s hat and cape on the desk as Jouno takes off his boots and crawls into the bed, not caring to remove the rest of his uniform. Tecchou doesn’t blame him. He takes off his own hat and cape before he disappears to the adjacent kitchenette to take something from the freezer.
Once he’s back in the room with Jouno, he shuts the lights off and sits at the edge of the bed, silent for a moment, just in case Jouno has already miraculously fallen asleep.
“Tecchou, please,” Jouno murmurs.
“This should help. Try it,” Tecchou says.
Jouno turns over to face Tecchou. “I’m not trying anything you’ve made -”
“It’s not edible. It’s an ice pack. You should put it on the back of your neck, it should help your headache,” Tecchou tells him, as convincing as he can sound. He hasn’t personally tried this, but he’s gotten icepacks for this purpose at Fukuchi’s request before.
Jouno almost looks like he’s about to turn back around, but Tecchou decides he’s just going to gently slide a hand under Jouno’s head to place the ice pack under his neck. Jouno, surprisingly, sinks into it without any fight back from Tecchou.
Jouno sighs and lays a hand over his forehead with a heavy sigh.
“I can’t believe you told Tachihara to evacuate the top two floors,” Jouno mumbles.
“Did he?” Tecchou asks. He didn’t think he could get it done that quickly, but Tachihara is very reliable when it comes to following orders.
“I don’t hear anyone.” Jouno confirms quietly. “Still, downstairs, but…it’s not nearly as loud.”
“Good,” Tecchou says. Even if that’s all that could be done, he’s glad they did it.
“It does feel a little better,” Jouno barely manages. Tecchou thinks he’s starting to get tired, which he believes must be a good sign. It’s not bothering him as much as before, he’s feeling okay enough to get tired. He didn’t think the ice pack would help that quickly, but maybe it’s a combination of everything. The quiet of the space, the comfort of the bed.
“I can get one for your forehead too,” Tecchou says.
“That’d...be good.”
Tecchou is swift in his strides back to the kitchenette to take another ice pack from the freezer, since even though it’s indirect, Jouno is finally accepting his help. Hes back at his side in no time at all to lay the ice pack on Jouno’s forehead. At first, he flinches at the sudden cold, but Tecchou watches his expression quickly relax. It’s good to know for the future that this is something that helps him.
“Do you have your cell phone on you?” Tecchou asks him. Jouno nods. “Okay. You can text me if you need something. I’ll be around.”
To his surprise, Jouno has nothing to say to that. He just grunts in acknowledgment, and with that, Tecchou stands up, and heads for the door.
Just before his hand touches the doorknob, he hears Jouno’s voice.
“Wait,” he murmurs. Tecchou freezes. “All of a sudden…you have something better to do?”
Tecchou lowers his hand. “No, not really.”
“Then stay,” Jouno says. This response is even more surprising than him saying nothing at all.
So, Tecchou does as Jouno asks of him. He takes off his boots and crawls onto the twin-sized mattress beside Jouno, who doesn’t make a single objection, no attempts to take back his request. Tecchou won’t lie, this is an opportunity he’ll gladly take after he didn’t get much sleep last night, but he’s sort of glad to be beside Jouno, too.
“You’re an idiot for going out of your way for me,” Jouno murmurs.
“It wasn’t out of my way,” Tecchou whispers. “I don’t want to see you miserable.”
Jouno huffs and turns his head, just enough to face Tecchou and to not move his ice packs too much. Tecchou turns so he’s laying on his side to face Jouno. His expression has relaxed considerably since the last time he studied his face like this.
Jouno’s hand reaches out to cradle the side of Tecchou’s face. He doesn’t say anything, but his hand is ice cold, just like his hands always are. Tecchou’s hands are often too warm for Jouno’s liking. Tecchou wonders sometimes if there’s any meaning behind that.
Tecchou lays his own hand on top of Jouno’s.
It’s not long before Jouno slides his hand away, and Tecchou wonders why he tried in the first place, up until Jouno catches Tecchou’s hand to squeeze it and lay between the two of them. It’s still so cold. Tecchou’s hands are bigger than Jouno’s, they’re rather dainty and delicate. Tecchou’s hand wraps around Jouno’s easily, and he squeezes it, just for a few moments before he relaxes again.
Tecchou wants to say something, but any ideas he has are dead on his tongue. Jouno is a very confusing person. One moment he’s yelling in Tecchou’s face and the next he’s lying beside him and squeezing his hand like his life depends on it. Tecchou’s cheeks get hot and pink like he’s embarrassed but he doesn’t know why.
“I like you too,” Jouno mumbles just as he starts to fall asleep.
Apparently, Jouno knows why.

The door opens with a squeak, making Tecchou turn around. Right after shutting the door with his heel, Jouno saunters forward, posture erect and head held high. His expression looks serene, relaxed.
“Jouno.” Tecchou greets, eyes never leaving Jouno’s frame.
Jouno’s signature smirk tugs its way onto his lips. “Princess.” He greets in turn, voice even and smooth. He stands next to Tecchou, just before his desk. Tecchou ogles him in the silence, waiting for Jouno to speak.
Jouno’s gloved fingers trace the wood of his desk. “Announcement’s been made, the crew is aware of your presence and have begrudgingly accepted it.” He says.
Oh, Tecchou thinks.
