evaluations are always hard on minjun, no matter how confident he was feeling at the time and the one he went through just a few hours ago left him floorless. he could still feel his hands shaking and his throat closed, his face burning with shame when the words coming from his dance teacher echoed in his ears again - he wasn't breathing properly, his voice was weak, he couldn't match the tempo of the choreography. his stress levels were so high that he was grateful his roommates weren't there right now, so he could cry and yell and thrash the place (not really) and no one would witness it.

still pretty much on the edge even after taking a shower, he chooses the only safe option around, his eyes falling on the small package delivered to him earlier that morning, a treat from his brother - cooking always made him feel detached from his routine so if that doesn't help him, at least he would have a batch of cookies to eat. it's a win-win situation, in the end, he thinks as he starts to open the cabinets in the dorm's kitchen, gathering all the ingredients he needs for his recipe.

minjun isn't surprised when a familiar face gets in front of him, with a concerned look. the stupid invisible string connecting him and yoojoon is so evident that even if he tries to hide from him that everything is okay, he'd sound like a fake liar; also his shaking hands are a dead giveaway anyways. "thought you'd be busy, hyung." he speaks quietly, adding flour to a bowl, cautiously. "you didn't need to come."

I didnt have the energy to express that in ink but thats the ult version #adaine I truly imagine to grow up to be the perpetual t shirt and jeans person but she carries her sword everywhere #gorgugs truth is that shes just hot she can wear anything. but I do give him the skirt hike bc I love him #I really like skirt hike... such a fun thing to put in designs. if ur garment has no variance in how it falls or drapes u can do it urself #this is also a little bit of an exercise in how much of an accessory I can freehand from memory #fig's bass I straight up did not fact check for. just rawdogging it memory only. same with fandrangor and adaine's crocs #I did write in my funny little document that gorgug takes up baking and is good at it bc I think itd be good for him #to do basically chemistry and math that also feeds people #out of them... kristen and riz would be Good good at it. but riz would get way too stressed abt the recipe and kristen bakes by #eyeballing the texture. fabian likes decorating but refuses to get anywhere near the heat of an oven. adaine isnt good at it first try #and is like well my effort goes to other things actually. fig Loves baking and Nobody lets her into the kitchen #idk why this manifests so clear in my head. must be bc of recent foccacia events #living in the subtropics is hell for baking nobody try it ok? what is "you will dance with me anon?"

It’s a callback in Jon’s mind to Alys Karstark’s dialogue to Jon during her wedding, but with a twist.

The conversation goes something like this

“You could dance with me, you know. It would be only courteous. You danced with me anon.”

“Anon?” teased Jon.”

Jon X, ADWD

“Anon” is an old English word which I feel is most closely translated to presently or shortly. It’s an adverb that denotes a future tense, something that is yet to happen, and Alys uses it in the past tense to say that, “hey we danced just now”, which is why Jon teases her.

Jon later thinks back on this moment but uses the correct tense of the word

A snowflake danced upon the air. Then another. Dance with me, Jon Snow, he thought. You'll dance with me anon.

Jon XII, ADWD

To me, this feels like a cry across time a space. Maybe you had the wrong dance partner last time (past tense use of the word anon which is wrong), Jon Snow, next time (the correct usage of anon) it will be the right one.

And also, since anon means soon, I am led to believe that Jon and Sansa will also meet pretty soon (as soon as twow, if my eyes ever have the good luck of seeing its pages), for a dance maybe, literal or metaphorical.
