hey! this is chance & here’s the prompt for week 6. what are your oc's bedrooms like? messy? neat? carefully designed? or a collection of their favorite things? you can verbally describe or use photos, whatever you think is best.
I’m answering this for Maeve and Marcel from TFBS because Darcy (TSOTE) doesn’t have a bedroom for the first two books, really.
Maeve’s bedroom is pretty neat, with some (but not many) sentimental items. She was train as a knight, and then was in a military for a while, so she got pretty well steeped in neatness and minimalism. Her bedroom, at the start of the book, is actually a bit unfamilar/out of date for her, because she’s been deployed for 3-4 years and hasn’t been in her room since she left. So to a degree it feels a little like a kids room—like coming back to your bedroom at home and your parents haven’t changed a thing, and rather than being comfortable it’s a little displacing.
Marvel’s room is a curated mess. Though she’s royalty, neatness evaded her education… She’s always in the middle of some aspect of her research projects, the room is scattered with books and tools and materials. She also won’t let anyone else touch her room, typically, so it’s on her to clean and she only kind of does. She also frequently doesn’t know where things are in the room when looking for them, but if you were to pick up a random object she would know exactly what it was for, what project, and why it was there. It’s curated chaos.
Tyr’s room is neat, but has more sentimental items and decor than Maeve. She had a small collection of books, and her room looks “lived in” —neat, but not manicured. The most prominent feature is the displayed weapons throughout the room, though they’re probably supposed to be with the armory. She A) likes to keep them near and B) has a fondness and a certain amount of pride for most of them.
Okay! Those are the girls from The Fire Between Stars!

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Have any of your ocs died protecting people they love and friends?
Oh man-- getting into the nitty-gritty with this one, huh?
The short answer is no.
The long answer is.... not yet?
The main cast of The Fire Between Stars are always getting into trouble, and are in the middle of a war, and they're all problematically devoted to each other. It's already ALMOST happened a couple times, and they've definitely expressed the sentiment before.
In terms of likelihood...
Maeve has a pretty high likelihood of dying to protect the people she loves; she's impulsive and hot headed, and painfully loyal, and puts other people's wellbeing over her own more often than not.
Tyr is slightly less likely to get herself killed doing something stupid or impulsive, and more likely to get hurt with calculated plans that she KNOWS won't go in her favor but will keep other people safe.
Marcel is the least likely to die protecting the people she loves, mostly because she's got both Tyr and Maeve willing to do just that for her.
