Villain!Mumbo

Dr. K. Chrysalis-

A genius scientist turned villain after having invented 'End-Crystals'. Once only known by colleagues for his fancy attire and mustache, he is now feared by the general puplic because of attacks on big companies (who are also harmfull to the enviroment).

The eco-terrorist has hardly been on the scene for long, but the stress of leading a villainous life is already showing! Just look at those gray hairs!

Mumbo Jumbo:

Of course that's a name that exists. Yes, he does have an ID, he just left it at home. No, this definitely isn't a shapeshifted form, this is his real body, and he definitely does not show gray hairs when he's too exausted to hold this form properly!

'Jumbo Mumbo's' was the sort of run down technology store that had opened when computers were still new but had somehow not gone out of business. Except, it wasn't. It had opened a year or so ago and seemingly had the highest quality tech you could immagine. The owner wasn't all technoly nerd but also a big recycling advocator, meaning you could get your old stuff up and running again there for less than buying a whole new thing.

The worst part about getting older is that i never botherthrered to learn how to use github correcctioly in the uyndertstanding that th coreect way to dealwith connfusing technoly was to hope that the local thirteen year had figured it out and would help me but it turns out that that isnt going to work and i dont know how to use use git huib so we may as well all just try to kill thte internet and die.

Adding on some things my library also offers (that yours might too!):

Help with adult employment

Classes on basic technoly use

English language learner classes

Book clubs

Connection to legal aid (for housing, immigration/refugees, gender changes, etc.)

Sites where you can access free music movies and tv (as well as CDs and DVDs if you’re more into hard copies)

Tutoring for all ages across many subjects

Highly recommend checking out your local library (in person or online) to see what they offer! Keeping our libraries alive is so integral to promoting community :)

things you can find at your library!

not exhaustive and not applicable to all libraries but i wanted to share my handy little list. libraries are such great community spaces and there's so much more to them than meets the eye. as always, i would love to hear what your library has going on!

BOOKS! this is the obvious one. most libraries have fiction, non-fiction and plenty for kids from their first books through to ya. many libraries have a large print section as well.

audiobooks! libraries can have cds but also plenty of audiobooks that you can access digitally.

ebooks! with a library membership, you can use apps such as libby and overdrive to read books that may not otherwise be accessible.

free sanitary products! they usually carry tampons and pads of various sizes from nonprofit organisations.

computers! if you're seeing this, you probably have internet access but if for any reason you are unable to use your devices, library memberships usually include access to their pcs.

activities for kids! a lot of libraries have arts and crafts or weekly sessions where kids of all ages can enjoy reading challenges, stories and singing.

activities for adults! local groups for anything from sports to music use library spaces. your library may also have a board where events and clubs are advertised.

support for locals! libraries are lovely spaces that welcome everyone. chances are, your local library can help you get the support you need. i've seen libraries provide help for everything from mental health to immigration documentation.

libraries are such a great resource that i really encourage you to make the most of. show some love to your librarians!!! they really do so much for their communities

So Google banned AO3 from showing up in search results in Germany. What now?

Start using (and paying for, if you must) standard VPN services that offer a wide range of international servers to choose from.

Stop using Google. Use Brave, for example. DuckDuckGo has also started filtering content just recently, so don't go there.

For that matter, use different search engines from time to time and avoid those based on google algorithms. Startpage, for example, uses google result. They're committed to privacy but not to neutrality.

Be aware that your government wants to curate your internet experience for you. It's all about control. They treat you like children, so be aware that they're trying to install "child safety" measures that you're probably not even aware of. The internet is a huge open space, but the things they permit you to see are getting fewer by the day, whether it's people, porn, or politics.

De-centralize your own internet experience. Don't use just one social network, one platform, use ALL of them. Just so that in case you're banned somewhere, you have a space to migrate to.

Back up your works. Back up your works. Back up your works. Do not use company-owned cloud spaces as back-up, save your works the old-fashioned way on external devices.

Start looking into peer-to-peer networks and blockchain technoly. Just in case.
