everyone always talks about That One panel of Trigun: Multiple Bullets, but i havent seen anyone talk about how fucking BATSHIT INSANE the surrounding fight is
like
Vash & Wolfwood fighting back-to-back, both using the punisher as a shield
(the rest under a readmore bc this accidentally got LONG...)
Vash seeing the shots coming from behind & purposefully not moving bc he knows if he does, Wolfwood would get hit
Wolfwood getting injured too, but not moving from Vash's back. the way he's stanced, it looks Protective. he's doing what he can to keep Vash out of the direct line of fire.
even when he's getting shot up for it, he Doesn't Move. (this also seems to be the moment he got hurt, which leads into the panel later)
& throughout this whole scene, we are only seeing Wolfwood's reactions.
until the girls give them an opening, and they burst out with THIS:
Wolfwood injured, so he can't properly aim the punisher... and he gets around this by sticking one of the leather straps in his Mouth
and then we FINALLY get to see Vash's face again as he grabs the punisher (with a "GAN" sound effect, so he fuckin SLAPPED that metal hand on the punisher).
Wolfwood trusts him enough to just do what he says in the thick of battle, so we FINALLY get to the iconic panel:
which brings us to the aboslute insanity of what Vash is actually Doing.
"DON DON" -> two shots fired for two missiles launched. he literally manages to TURN THEM AROUND MID-FLIGHT (interesting to note that they seem to have internal propulsion, rather than simply being fired by Wolfwood. how many of these does Wolfwood have? they seem heavy.)
he manages to avert the third missile from hitting the dude directly, and instead makes it land Behind him. then the other two missiles, he rests his arm on Wolfwood's shoulders to hit them and direct them behind the other two enemies
Boom.
killing no-one, but showing an INSANE level of fine control AND teamwork.
and in the end, Wolfwood's arm is in a cast, Vash seems either unhurt or hurt but unbothered by it (typical Vash). And Life Goes On.
(forgot to mention before, but all panels are from @trigun-manga-overhaul! thank u for the beautiful pages)
#speculation nation#trigun#vashwood#fanny reads trigun#fanny's trigun analysis#does this count as meta? it's more a fight analysis than anything else#sure w/e i'll tag it. i'm going pretty in depth into it anyways.#trigun meta#anyways. these 2 drive me fucking insane & this WHOLE fight exhibits it so much#the cooperation... the Protecting each other... the extreme skill...#as it's put later in the manga. 'These two are accustomed to fighting as a team.'#& honestly this is the Perfect example of it.#no id#bc it would take... an Eternity to ID all these. sorry .

me and the guy that i think is possessing me (were actually two fragments of a shared consciousness).
In the headspace, harvey and (unnamed alter called two face by others) look like each halves of the body. they are co-hosts, but two face completely takes over during times of extreme stress or during fights/criminal activity. hes a protector/persecutor alter who has only ever really experienced violence. his whole body is deadened burn scar tissue. harvey looks like he did before the accident. both of them have bad body dysmorphia about the other side of their body when fronting.
his first memory was the accident that scarred him, pain and terror and burning alive. now he has to take care of the body and get revenge, while everyone treats him like an unwanted pest or completely insane. Hes Not Handling It Well! why should he have to protect harvey if harvey only ever hurts him and fights against everything he tries to do!
two face has no memory of his life before the accident, so all of his relationships are with criminals and crazy people and all his skills are crime (he loves cats tho)
harvey has some memories of his life before (he Thinks he has all of them). even still, alexander (another alter who fronted during their teenage/young adult/schooling years) is closer to bruce wayne than harvey. (alexander is a perpetually teenage protector based on bruce, a little emo genderfluid trans girl with a HUGE CRUSH on bruce. they dated without harvey knowing). harvey is confused why bruce cares about him so much, he doesnt remember a majority of their time together (a few clear memories and a lot of distant feelings of friendship)
anyways, harvey is just incredibly not cool to two face. he was the first alter he knew was an alter immediately, and he felt like he was being possessed. all the time loss, dissociation, his voice in his head all the damn time, it was scary. especially when they were both preoccupied outrunning the mob after their career was ruined and they were being hunted by assassins.
harvey had experienced voices and dissociation before, but never this sudden. he always just wrote it off as being forgetful, or having a normal inner monologue.
This is just their characterizations early in the comic. they learn to be kind and cooperative eventually! system communication and integration for the win!
#to clarify they dont fuse#they just work more like a well oiled machine and less like a snake and a badger duct taped together in a trash can#outletverse#my art#art#dc#digital art#batman#gotham rouges#harvey dent#two face#dc two face#gotham rogues#outletverse the justice system#outletverse the justice system: harvey dent#outletverse the justice system: two face#twobats#bruharvey#character design#did#dissociative identity disorder#two face may be my favorite#i just love a character who wants to do good but accomplishes it through evil/questionable actions#and hell does he even want to be good?? he hates all his headmates and himself#thats the question indeed

SONIC THE TAROT Card Previews #18
Today's previews are for the Suit of Wands' Five of Wands, Six of Wands, Seven of Wands, Eight of Wands, and Nine of Wands! See their guidebook entries below, and check out our website for more and our storefront to preorder a copy!
Five of Wands (Babylon Rogues: Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, and Storm the Albatross)
The Babylon Rogues—Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow, and Storm the Albatross—are a volatile group of thieves and Extreme Gear experts. Although highly competent on the racetrack as the Five of Wands, they often come to rows over trivial matters, such as who gets to relay information or touch items like the Babylon Garden's key. This nasty attitude extends to others as well: Jet was willing to let the Metal Virus run rampant because he considered the task below his pay grade, only being talked out of it with flattery.
Despite their ill tempers, the Five of Wands reversed sees the Rogues often helping Sonic and friends’ cause. Eggman often forms a united point of annoyance for both groups, and they also work together to thwart SCR-HD's Ark of the Cosmos plot. Ultimately, even if many tournaments turn out to be a front for Eggman-related schemes, the Rogues first and foremost live for the thrill of the race against skilled opponents and each other.
The Five of Wands may be at each other's throats at times, but they always have their allies’ backs.
Upright Keywords: volatility, arguments, bad attitudes, competition
Reversed Keywords: compromise, cooperation, conflict avoidance, sportsmanship
Six of Wands (Barry the Quokka)
Barry the Quokka, the Six of Wands, stands testament to the importance of self-assurance. Initially anxious in their unglamorous microwaver position, their clue-solving partnership with Tails allows them to find the strength to believe in themself and their ideas, however unlikely they may seem. Eventually, their success in exposing the Mirage Express plot grants them esteem in the eyes of both his boss and Sonic and friends, leading to a bright future no matter what they choose.
Lacking confidence becomes Barry's vice when the Six of Wands is reversed. Despite deducing that Amy’s murder mystery party took a violent turn, they are unable to be firm in their assertions of that fact to Tails and Amy. In times of duress, Barry shuts down almost completely, needing Sonic's support—or an imagined version of it—to recover and refocus.
The Six of Wands always finds eventual success, but weak self-esteem often delays its arrival.
Upright Keywords: self-assurance, finding strength within, success, acclaim
Reversed Keywords: lack of confidence, poor assertiveness, following the pack, moments of weakness
Seven of Wands (Shahra)
The Seven of Wands is the determined Genie of the Ring, Shahra. Despite her intimate ties to Erazor Djinn, she recognizes the dangers of letting his plan come to fruition and ultimately puts into motion the plan that defeats him. Shahra’s latent magic aids Sonic at every turn, and her loyalty to him even led her taking a fatal blow to protect him.
But as the Seven of Wands reversed, Shahra’s willpower crumbles. Despite her discomfort, she nevertheless betrays Sonic to aid Erazor Djinn, their toxic relationship having become too important to her. Even upon resurrection, Shahra is too exhausted by her grief to properly express her emotions over Erazor Djinn’s defeat and her betrayal, instead wordlessly acquiescing to Sonic’s final request.
The Seven of Wands will not hesitate to protect those closest to her, but her resolve wavers when her loved ones come to blows.
Upright Keywords: determination, doing the right thing, standing up for one's beliefs, protection
Reversed Keywords: wavering resolve, giving in, lack of willpower, exhaustion
Eight of Wands (Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel)
Best buddies Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel are the Eight of Wands. As close compatriots to Sonic in his early days of adventuring, the duo are quick on their feet in both motion and thought, seen in their deft trap navigation of Eggman Island. Their energy extends to their positivity as well—Mighty and Ray are always excited to help their other friends and love hanging out at chili dog picnics.
Tardiness manifests in Mighty and Ray when the Eight of Wands is reversed. Many of Sonic’s later quests conspicuously lack the duo, with missing posters even cropping up during the Time Eater incident. Even when present for the fight, such as against the Hard Boiled Heavies, Mighty and Ray must be freed or otherwise found to be unrestricted enough to help their friends’ cause.
The Eight of Wands are fast-paced and ready for action, but some roadblocks must be cleared for it to happen.
Upright Keywords: fast-paced action, sharp minds, deftness, excitement
Reversed Keywords: slow to the draw, late starts, missed opportunities, unpreparedness
Nine of Wands (Princess Elise the Third)
The story of Princess Elise the Third, sovereign of Soleanna and the Nine of Wands, is one of resilience. As the center of a decades-long conspiracy, she constantly faces adversaries who wish to do her harm, ones she is ill-equipped to handle alone. However, Elise’s lack of martial prowess does not make her a weak person: she learns the importance of protecting her people against Eggman despite her fears, and this growing courage ultimately allows her to let Sonic go in order to save the world.
Elise’s initial lack of proactivity is found when the Nine of Wands is reversed. Despite repeated kidnappings by Eggman, she lacks the situational awareness to watch out for danger and lets her guard down frequently—culminating in the surprise attack by Mephiles against Sonic. Additionally, Elise often gives up on trying to escape herself, waiting on those like Sonic and Amy to rescue her instead of formulating a strategy herself.
The Nine of Wands gathers her inner strength in tough situations, but may not be proactive in setting plans into motion.
Upright Keywords: resilience, perseverance, gathering one's courage, growth
Reversed Keywords: lack of proactivity, not learning from the past, letting one's guard down, giving up

Inhuman
Fandom: MCU Pairing: Bucky x fem!reader, eventually Loki x fem!reader, Stucky, more (some canon, some not). Word count: 2768. Contents: Talk of zombies, Thor visits, new mission, death, despair. A/N: Yes, I update irregularly but very frequently - sometimes several times aday. Any questions are welcome. Please comment and like and reblog. Let me know if you want a tag.
Chapter 18
... Reader’s PoV ...
Daisy has done everything possible to spread the words through the Inhuman community: “Someone is hunting us down”. Again. Most people seem to have taken the threat seriously, but there are still reports of disappearances trickling in.
The latest news arrive with a girl who managed to escape when a “zombie” came for her mother and her. It had managed to get into their home one night and had, according to the kid, placed a necklace on the mom so she couldn’t use her skills (phasing through hard materials). The girl had heard the sounds of muffled struggling and had gone to see what was happening. Then she’d run. Run to the nearest family...her uncle who happened to live 10 km from her home. When SHIELD was notified and got to the scene both the mom and intruder were long gone.
Since the little girl arrived, FitzSimmons (you’ve adopted this way of referring to the duo) and Banner have been busy digging through old files and reports concerning the work Holden Radcliffe made. The man was truly a modern-day Doctor Frankenstein. He had, admittedly under threats, tried to replicate the work of the Kree by infusing normal humans with the alien blood in an attempt to create more Inhumans. Despite a certain success, the results were horrendous as the victims of his work had been reduced to something akin to ghouls. Mindless, violent, and extremely powerful. They had followed the orders of Hive, the first Inhuman and origin of Hydra.
What if, instead of using Kree-blood, like Radcliffe did, Vasiliev had used the blood and other DNA-yielding substances from the Inhumans in an attempt to gain their powers for himself? This was what Steve and Coulson had been referring to at the meeting a week ago.
… …
There are always two sides to a coin, and thankfully the horrible case with the girl (unofficially referred to as the “running girl”) and her mother has brought some much-needed cooperation from many Inhumans who now band together, seeking refuge in numbers in secluded places under the protection of SHIELD and each other, and thankfully this nearly stops the series of abductions. Nearly.
Among the newly identified Inhumans is a man that’s witnessed several of these attacks and therefore has seen the “zombie”. At first, it seems highly unlikely that he should have been able to escape several times in a row but when he starts to explain it makes sense because this older man doesn’t have to be there to see events. New to his skill, he’d thought they were dreams in the beginning. Nightmares that would wake him up at night. Then after it happened in broad daylight, he began to fear for a brain tumour. It was only by pure chance that the doctor, an Inhuman that examined him at a hospital, recognized the scenarios described and put two and two together.
Since then, he’s been sitting in a white pod with Coulson going through each of the events one by one, identifying the Inhumans that are missing and describing the one person who took them. He rarely knows what the victims look like, as he has seen everything from their point of view, but he can describe their abilities and emotions, as well as depict anything they’ve seen as if he’d been there himself.
Initially, the perpetrator taking the Inhumans looked like Vasiliev from the pictures SHIELD have of him, but at each new attack he’d changed. Subtly at first, as he began to grow bald, then lose weight…but before long he’d appeared tall and scaly...but most prominently, the eyes had started to change to yellow and the skin looked like it had melted partially off the face. The visions always end with the target blacking out as they stare into those yellow eyes.
Daisy and you are standing outside the containment module, looking in on the scene unfolding, unable to hear the conversation.
She’s fidgeting with the bracers (hidden beneath the sleeves almost all the time) which help absorb any tremors she may produce. If she didn’t have those, she’d shatter her bones every single time she used her powers.
“We had another, once, who was able to see and show how someone would die long before it was to happen...but there was nothing that could change the fate that awaited...” her voice trails off.
For a while she stands, lost in her own memories with a pained expression fluttering as a shadow across the face before she manages to regain control of herself.
“You’ve...seen your own....death?”
“Thought I had...might even’d been better if that had been the case...” Then she shakes herself and walks off.
For once it seems better not to follow, so you decide instead to get back to the homework on Inhuman genetics. Homework that Bruce and Simmons have assigned in the hope that you’ll be able to see something they cannot. So far, you’ve had no luck as reading about something’s very different from feeling it.
… …
There have been neither new abductions nor leads despite the combined efforts of agents and Avengers (especially Natasha and Clint have been using their networks), leaving everyone frustrated and prickly, so it’s a relief when Thor finally returns with news.
He’s been busy and can affirm the findings of four of the Infinity Stones: the blue-coloured “Space”, which was originally kept in the Tesseract; yellow “Mind”, which now rests in the forehead of Vision; red “Reality”, also known as the Aether and which is fluxing in forms between a fluid and a stone; and finally “Power”, a purple stone that was found and wielded, although only briefly by a semi-Midgardian.
As Thor explains the origins of the Stones and the powers they hold, it becomes clear how vital it is that these items are kept from anyone who’d use them for destructive purposes.
“But this...semi-human you mentioned, who’s that?” It might not be the right term, but Coulson isn’t going to call anyone from Earth a Midgardian.
More than a handful of the people involved (Vision, Stark, Steve, May, Bruce and you) are collected in Coulson’s office.
“He’s known to many by the names of Star-Lord though his true name’s Peter Jason Quill. He’s the son of a mortal woman. As for his paternal ancestry...I’ve not been able to confirm nor deny the rumours flourishing that he should be one of the oldest beings in the verses,” the god tells.
The last part sounds like near gibberish to you, though you’ve learned not to judge straight away. “Meaning?”
“Nothing’s certain...but surely this Star-Lord’s a son of no ordinary being as he has been able to withstand the destructive force of the Power Stone.” And aren’t you mighty impressed by that, eh, Point Blank?
“Peter Jason Quill. His mother was Meredith Quill,” Vision explains, as if reading from a text, “she passed away in 1988, the same evening Peter disappeared. It was feared that he got abducted or that he simply had run away in distress over his mother’s death.”
Thor nods. “Indeed. The Orb, containing the Power Stone that Star-Lord unearthed was also sought after by Ronan the Accuser, a Kree-usurper wishing to follow the old ways of his people and as such sought any means possible to destroy the peace between the Kree Empire and the Xandarians. One of his allies was Thanos. It also appears that Thanos is the one who aided my br...Loki and provided him with the Chitauri army.”
“So Thanos has an army now?”
Steve’s voice makes you think of an actual captain. Strong, attentive to details and used to getting the information he wants.
“In the years after his banishment, he sought out the furthermost regions of the galaxy. There he has affiliated with the Chitauri. They call him Dark Lord...and even The Most Powerful...” Thor scoffs. “Everyone else finds Mad Titan more fitting.”
“Can we find this Quill-guy?”
Everyone considers Stark’s idea for a moment and in the end, Thor’s tasked with the challenge. There’s not a lot else anyone can actually do anything about, but at least it makes you feel like you’re getting nearer figuring out what’s going on.
The last issue on the list’s the safety of any Inhumans not staying in a SHIELD-facility, including you, and as an extra safety measure, Coulson suggest that security cameras are installed in and around your home. You bristle at the idea. One thing’s the obvious protocols at HQ, but your home is your private domain and you refuse that anyone should be able to look in on that without your permission, the idea alone makes your hairs stand on end and your eyes shimmer pinkish until Tony offers the option that the tech could be coded to only activate when detecting a foreign signal, a person not on a VIP-list, so to say.
Once home, you’re bound there until Tony or one of his people shows up to turn your home into something befitting a George Orwell novel.
There’s no chance to go for a run as you normally would do when restless or frustrated, so instead you bury yourself in the files on Vasiliev’s victims. There is so much information. Life stories, photos, assessments of skills and their potential risks, medical reports, and much more. It’s hard to not feel a personal connection to each and every one of them as their lives unfold on the laptop screen.
Reading about the ones they’ve each left behind is the worst because you know that almost all of these family members and friends will never get a proper explanation as to what happened. WHY it happened. You wish there was some new brilliant clue to glean from all of this, but you’re no scientist or profiler. You’d maybe have been able to provide some sort of information, maybe, if you’d met them while they were still alive. The pictures are heartbreaking. The faces of them aglow with hope. Dreams they still had to fulfill. The promise of life.
It’s a relief when Tony arrives, distracting you from the miserable fates of the fellow Inhumans and soon he’s putting up small cameras with sensors that you can (de-)activate either on a small screen in the washer room or on the cell phone. They’re at each door and window plus a few placed strategically around the apartment. Any feed will be sent automatically to your phone as well as laptop but to no one else.
… …
A week has gone by, slowly and with no new leads. All the information SHIELD has has gone out to every single agency to help narrow down Vasiliev’s whereabouts.
And finally, there are news. May’s gotten information of sightings of him in Venezuela. Naturally, the officials in the country have treated it as a myth created by the younger generation and to be fair it makes sense. Like the stories about Slender Man, the word has spread across the internet and social media about a soulless and mute ghoul that abducts people in their sleep. But of course, those who know better have to investigate and a team has been put together.
The flight south is very quiet considering one of the team members is Tony. Normally Natasha would be one to hold up a conversation too, but this time she follows May’s example and only says whatever is strictly necessary which leaves you and Daisy to almost be afraid of stepping out of line.
“Each series of reports and rumours has indicated Vasiliev’s travelling more or less south from the coast after having frequented Caracas and Valencia.” May’s on top of the intel.
Tony’s studying the holographic map for the hundredth time. “Would’ve made more sense to stay near the coast and the bigger cities...”
She seems to agree with Stark’s observation but the flow of information and the attention to what goes on in the cities might have been what has forced Vasiliev to seek out the less obvious places. Thankfully, he has more or less followed one of the highways.
“I might be a party pooper...” You can’t help the hand that’s raising tentatively as if you’re a scared school kid. “But don’t we risk that he wants us to think that’s what he’s doing?”
“Yeah, we do…but that’s a risk we’ve gotta take.” True.
...
When the jet touches down on the little airstrip at the town of Calabozo, the musty heat hits you like a hammer. It’s late in the evening, and by now there’s a cacophony of sounds from crickets, dogs, music from a bar, and the voices from people now that the air’s starting to cool down after the sunny day. Apparently, it's cattle-country with vast fields surrounding the town and wet areas next to the lake, but despite the nearby sources of water everything’s dry and dusty inside the city borders.
Having brought his suit, Stark’s in the air as you’re following a predetermined path around town in one group to minimize the risk of trouble (rather, to avoid Daisy and you becoming targets). You’re well in the middle of the Francisco de Miranda-neighbourhood when a scream rises above the bustle of town.
Running down the street and around the corner, you find an elderly man sitting on the steps to his small green-painted home, crying and desperately rocking back and forth. He's not hurt. As neither you nor Tony report any signs of someone inside the home, both May and Natasha start talking with the man.
Almost no one inside. You can sense the last embers of a woman fade away with any hope of saving her.
“Woman’s dead,” you mutter quietly to the others.
“There should be a girl. His granddaughter.” It looks like May’s been personally insulted.
“Which room’s hers?”
A moment later you’re standing in a little room where the walls are a soft yellow with big flowers painted on in purple, white and pink. There aren’t many toys and only a few, very worn teddy bears that clearly have seen several generations worth of small, sticky hands. Along a wall is a child-sized, white bed with soft mosquito nets embellished with sequins.
It could have been a pretty and cozy room were it not for the fact that the net is torn and across it, the bed, and the wall behind are deep-red drops belonging to the mother who’s lying on the floor looking…far from intact. Her eyes are still open, showing horror and defiance. One of her hands is holding on tightly to a doll with a frilly purple dress.
“He didn’t see the face of the attacker, but he could smell him,” Nat quietly explains, “a sweet smell like from rotting flesh.” The idea makes you shiver, and your friend wraps an arm around your shoulders looking at the dead woman on the floor. “She was the Inhuman. The daughter had shown no signs of any powers.”
“What would be the point of taking her then?” Daisy’s not coming into the room and is trying her best not to look in either.
“Maybe he hopes to...activate her...?”
… …
The group stays in Venezuela for almost a week tracking down old leads. Unfortunately, none of them pan out and there’s nothing new to help you get closer to Vasiliev, meaning that eventually, there’s no other option than to give up. Before leaving the country, you all revisit the grandfather who refuses to give up the hope that the girl will return. On the trip home, you can’t get his determined defiance out of the mind.
…
Finally home, you need a shower. Long, warm showers are therapeutic in the way that it’s not just dirt and sweat getting washed away with the water down into the drain but also the heavy feelings of sadness, disappointment, failure. At least normally they follow the water...not this time.
You cannot comprehend how the others do it. You might be an Avenger by name...but let’s face it girl, I’m not like the others. You don’t have the same responsibilities because no one expects something grand from you like actually finding Vasiliev or preventing killings of Inhumans. Even so, you feel ashamed. A cold-burning feeling of self-loathing that stems from being inadequate.
It’s when you hear the croaking sound that you realize you must be crying. The air’s sticking in the throat, being pushed out with each sob as you slowly let yourself get down on the floor, sliding with the back down the wall until you’re sitting with the arms and forehead on the knees.

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?
OH GOSH YEAH THERE IS it's called 'without grace, without understanding' (thanks wrinkle in time) and it's a reimagining of the training arc with roy and jamie in season 3
this got a little long so it is..... under a cut lsdfkjs.
update: 'a little long' this is basically a fic in itself lmfao WHOOPSIES. i guess i may as well actually tag it, enjoy... whatever this is.
started off with me thinking about the myriad of ways that could've been a fascinating plot to use to explore those two characters' trajectories and their relationship to themselves and each other and this sport. roy's lack of trust in himself and his conviction that he ruins things.
and it's like... thinking about how roy's approach is uh. a bit much sometimes and jamie particularly doesn't necessarily react super well to that and has a tendency to take things the wrong way even when they are well delivered, and thinking about roy's concerns this season about his coaching skills. that he's REALLY worried about being a good coach. and the stuff in season 2, where he was worried he was Ruining Phoebe somehow, just.
and there's the jamie of it all. him trying to hard to be better, to do better, not sure how to make it work. how to make it happen. how to be as good as zava, be better than zava. still trying to deserve the second chance he's been given. still a brat a lot of the time bc he is who he is but also trying so hard to be good. be cooperative. be a team player. Work Hard Enough.
so you get into the actual training of it, right. they're working together one on one, and roy is pushing him. hard. and i looked at that and went. okay this is supposed to be humorous but also what if we took it seriously. what if roy pushed him TOO hard and jamie just let him because he’d do basically whatever roy told him to and thinks he’s supposed to shut up and not whine and Be Good. and this somehow ends up pushing jamie so hard he’s just completely exhausted or hurt somehow and roy is absolutely horrified by this. and is like NOPE i cant do this i shouldn’t be doing this and doesn’t really communicate to jamie why he’s calling it off. he just does it. so jamie thinks he’s done something wrong and roy thinks he’s protecting jamie by (freaking out and) walking away and it’s a MESS they gotta sort out.
somewhere in there there's a thing with roy and the coaches or the diamond dogs as a whole, right. after he's walked away from training jamie one on one and their relationship is extremely strained bc roy is spiralling beyond proportion like Oh Fuck, Oh Gd, I Was Ruining Him, I Was Hurting Him and jamie is like He's Done With Me He Don't Want Fuck-All To Do With Me. so things are... weird. they're not really talking. they're both upset and hating it. but roy sort of. he doesn't stop coaching jamie again at all, but he does sort of. he pulls back. he goes stiff and distant and doesn't engage. he doesn't ice him out like in s2 but he's not. there. either.
and so they're talking and he's like. (in his mind the training is like. paused. they're Taking A Break.) but he's like. i need to talk to you about jamie. and the others are like... yeah, sure seems like it! and roy just admits. i don’t know how to train him. what i know how to do isn’t working. what worked on me isn’t working (ted/beard/someone voice maybe it perhaps Didn’t Work On You in a good way, but-) so What Do I Do.
which gives ted the opportunity to pay it forward with some advice and just - positive reinforcement. maybe try approaching this differently. he’s destroying himself trying to make you happy, make you proud, do good in your eyes. he idolizes you, not sure how AWARE of that you are, but he does. still. maybe try using that - tell him what he’s doing right.
(and that's the fuck of it all right is like. there's this part of roy that's been wondering if he's a bad coach for the opposite reason, too. he's been wondering if he's been too soft on jamie, and maybe that was the problem. it was something that was gnawing at him, before jamie worked himself sick/hurt and he realized his approach was massively backfiring, that like... maybe he was a bad coach because he couldn't be harsh enough. but he couldn't just. he couldn't stomach being like the coaches he'd had, he just couldn't do it. and then that happened, and obviously that wasn't it, but it was in there somewhere)
but so he talks a bit about that there, like, it comes up somehow - the coaches he had when he was young. when he was a kid and when he was coming up. he talks about how he was trained and they’re like right okay sure and how do you feel about those coaches now? how did they make you feel about yourself? is that how you want jamie to feel about you? is that how you want to know he feels when you talk to him?
he doesn't. he doesn't want jamie to feel like that about him, to feel like that when looking at him. because roy respected those coaches and wanted them to be impressed with him but he was afraid of them too. and he never thought for a minute that he ever lived up to their expectations. and fuck, gd, he never, ever wants that for jamie.
and that's the point ted and beard and company sort of gently make to him too like.
and so it's like. he trusts you. he looks up to you. he'd do anything you asked him to. that's good, that helps, but it means you gotta be careful too, y'know?
so he has to figure out a new approach. and it's like. roy doesn't need a personality transplant, don't get me wrong. he's never gonna be ted and he doesn't need to be. that's not the goal here. it's about figuring out how to be tough without being mean, right? and maybe a little about figuring out how to let himself soften.
(especially since half the time it’s his own younger self he’s hollering at imo. and so treating jamie better sort of asks him to realize he should’ve been treated better too. Be Kinder To Him And In Doing So Give Your Own 24 Year Old Self Some Gentleness And Grace.)
so roy offers to resume training with him after some other stuff happens etc, this is the part i have less thought through lmao.
(there's a subplot also with isaac and captain stuff and figuring out there's something up with jamie and not knowing what and trying to piece it together. love that too.)
and there's a scene in the end, right, where we get this whole... they've sorted things out, they're resuming training again, roy has extracted a promise from jamie to Speak The Fuck Up if things aren't going well, and he's promised to be less of a hardass generally, and then there's a bit where he like. apologizes for ever having been that hard on jamie in the first place and not thinking about whether that was the right approach.
and jamie just... he shrugs. he's not affected by this. "gotta make sure i don’t go soft, yeah?" and roy is like. no. absolutely not. stop right there.
which is when roy then makes the very specific point that like. when they talk about jamie’s performance on the pitch and how he should approach it sometimes he needs to be a prick, and he needs to worry about being permissive or passive or whatever else, but even if they have to bust out a thesaurus they will not be referring to him as soft. we will not be using that language here. do you understand me?
which... jamie. doesn't, really. he's like ??? and tries to brush it off at first like pshh that’s just the same thing “don’t want to be noncommittal or passive on the pitch ain’t that just the same thing as soft just more letters” and roy is like no. no it’s not. there’s implications in- in calling someone soft that there ain’t in there, and even if it is, so what. that’s a word that’s been used to hurt you. right? and jamie’s just kinda sullenly silent and roy goes right. which is why im not fucking using it. that’s the fucking point im trying to make here. if i can help it im not gonna fucking hurt you because i really don’t want to.
which y'know. is a lot. it's a lot for both of them. but they figure it out.
i’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while tbh but keep being like no that’s excessive- that’s dramatic- whatever this arc is gonna turn into it doesn’t NEED to turn into an angsty character/dynamic study- but honestly who cares. why not have fun with it. why not get into some of the vast unexplored potential here. maybe one day i will.

SCP 3456.2 also known as the Horsemen can be both demanding and dangerous but mostly cooperative. They participate in SCP expeditions, help terminate other dangerous SCPs, and train MTFs. As a family they’re very protective towards each other especially SCP 999.2. Somehow has the ability to resurrect each other after some time passed. One case being that SCPs 3456.2 B and D were killed underestimating SCP 3000. After being revived, they were harshly scolded by SCP 3456.2 A and comforts 999.2.

Since SCP-3456-2 willingly joined to cooperate with the Foundation, Keter status has been absolved and instead are classified to Thaumiel. (Secondary class has been assigned as Apollyon should SCP-3456-2 breach containment).
Though with attributes of their own accord that make for handling them dangerous alongside their demanding temperaments, the Horsemen are mostly responsive to following commands, likely due to their history serving as enforcers of some kind. Their independent files go into detail about their prior occupation and experience as allocated guardians of the balance.
Once they were reunited and assured that SCP-999-2 was secure within her containment, establishment of their new assignment was handled. SCP-3456-2 serves a special role in ensuring the safeguard of staff members and fellow MTFs, even taking it upon themselves to provide further training through simulated routines and scenarios. They also participate in SCP recapture/termination expeditions. All expeditions have been successful thus far.
Each Horsemen has a preferred method of approach and execution when out in the field, but with SCP-3456-2-A “Death” taking point as team leader, the Horsemen’s combined experience and skill demonstrates a level of reliability when undertaking these tasks. However, it is important for personnel to understand that SCP-3456-2 is still stated as an anomaly and may prove to yet turn if managed inappropriately. Furthermore, improper action taken when handling the Horsemen can prove to be detrimental.
The current data on file about these instances is still relatively unknown and all caution must be exercised. Therefore, SCP-3456-2 requires a dedicated amount of space without the interference of Foundation staff and MTFs if it can be helped.
In increased sessions of study between the Horsemen and SCP-999-2 “Cinnamon”, the researchers department have documented that their dynamic is a close-knitted family structure. Highly protective of the other (especially that of the child).
Those of the departments that cordially interact with the SCPs have collectively agreed that for the time being, any extreme cases of experimentation be halted or conducted in a highly cautious manner as to preserve cooperation and sustainability.
It’s on record that the Horsemen possess abilities that can resurrect terminated subjects. Death’s ability surpasses that of his siblings with his dominance over the control of necromancy. He is able to reanimate corpses to serve as lesser or average functioning minions or to fully restore one’s life force without damaging affects that have been found.
Such a discovery was made through one case of improper management over the Horsemen. A divided team expedition allowed SCP-3456-2-B “Strife” and SCP-3456-2-D “War” to engage SCP-3000 without the proper precautions known. Because of this incident, both Horsemen were underprepared and announced KIA.
Due to the intervention of Death and Fury, recovery over War and Strife’s remains was successful and SCP-3000 was “neutralised” but not determined dead. SCP-3456-2-A stated that he merely incapacitated the anomaly.
Harnessing the power of resurrection, SCP-3456-2-B and -D were revived and afterwards scolded by their elder. In having returned to on-site, both War and Strife were found in SCP-999-2’s containment cell after a containment breach alert had been called. Her ability to calm and comfort them is one that has been seen and documented but not to the extent of the Horsemen. It’s intrigued the staff to conduct on-going sessions as to how her powers are able to stabilise the most out of control states of fellow SCPs; more so that of the Horsemen.

I think it's funny, in a horrifying way, how so many people have the tendency of circling around from extreme leftism to extreme right. Like, it's less of a spectrum and more of a circle.
Terf nonsense is similar to this. They argued so fiercely for female empowerment and if you listen to their arguments, it's conservative bullshit in pretty language.
A lot of this so-called left bullshit is actually just extreme right ideology painted in leftist language. It's part of why I hate how intent matters less than language use in many left/liberal circles. They ignore meaning and tell you that you are a bigot and a monster and whatever based specifically on your language choice. Psyops pick up on this. Right-wing extremists take it to their pulpits. So much of the current transphobia is using leftist language to defend not only transphobia but racism.
A major component of the Extreme Right movement is using the emphasis on individualism to attack many minority communities. In the end, it's about billionaires protecting their billionaire communities by convincing poorer communities to attack each other by promoting individualism. It's highly effective. "Fuck people who require food stamps or disability. Oh, you need it? Well, your situation is different. You wouldn't be on it if you didn't need to be. You're an individual. Those people are lazy and just don't want to work." Dismiss how these programs assist communities by focusing on individualism.
We are actively seeing these things in left circles. The language is different but the intent is the same. The breakdown in social etiquette. The defense in not cooperating with and building communities. The right to attack and harm others. The current language is couched in mental health language or "fuck the boomers" language.
"I don't see why we have to follow their rules! That's stupid. It's a new generation and I'm not going to follow tradition for the sake of it. Okay, now what do I do in this situation which used to have an answer found in common social etiquette?"
"I can't assist with this community activity! I have social anxiety. If you try to force me to do it, you're the bad person!"
"I have this type of neurological disorder, so it's not my fault if I yell insults at the person! They just need to be accepting and realizing that some people have disorders which make them be assholes."
This isn't to say that these issues don't exist. Social anxiety is a thing! Neurological disorders which impair certain social skills and create impulsivity issues are a thing! The problem becomes when the emphasis is on the individual rights over recognizing individual responsibilities and recognizing that the individual is still a part of the community.
We go from "I, as an individual, paid off my student loans, so no one should have student loan forgiveness" and how that attitude harms our community to "I refuse to help and support my communities in any way because I have a neurological disorder, and due to my rights as an individual, people need to adjust for me 100% with me not needing to provide anything in return." In leftist circles, we are taught to hate the former and promote the latter, dissolving individual responsibility to the community.
Communities need to recognize individual needs. Yes. Absolutely. Survival of the fittest for humankind means those who work well within our communities survive. That is what it means for humans, not how well an individual can live alone. There's a quote about how civilization first formed when humans within a community helped an individual survive who otherwise would not have survived without their care and support. In turn, individuals need to recognize that they are parts of a community, and they need to do what they can to support that community, too. That differs from person to person, day by day. That means voting. That means recognizing the need for social etiquette. That means if your disorder causes you to lose your temper and lash out that you own up to it, apologize for it, and work on getting a handle on it. Maybe you succeed, maybe you don't. The point is recognizing your role in the community and how to assist how you can.
Those in power have learned that turning communities against each other is effective. Look how the feminism movement has been divided! Look how the LGBT+ community has been divided! How many elections have been lost to people like Trump because people decided that the main Democratic nominee wasn't pure enough and voted for a third party? It works.
Sometimes, being a part of a community is going "I know I have social anxiety, but I'm at least going to smile and greet this stranger before bolting away." Sometimes it's working to manage your mental health instead of shrugging and saying that everyone will just have to put up with it. It's voting even when you don't particularly like the candidate but you know that the other guy is WORSE. There are many components to it, and it's figuring out what works and what doesn't.
Being involved in a community involves work, and you can't expect other people in a community to support you when you have the means to support them back and refuse to do so.

"How may I be of assistance?"
Welcome to the ask blog of Irina Warashi, the hospital ghost!
Irina is a first year Mortkranken student, recovered after a mission involving the haunting of a local hospital. She tends to lie often about whether she is a ghoul, an anomaly, or a human. It seems she will do anything to before a human again, perhaps so far as to sell her soul, the only thing she has left. Mysteriously, Irina is still tangible and can be touched, though she does not react to things the way someone living should. She may go out of control in messy places, or if she feels as though she must fix something. All hell breaks loose if she must protect the ones she loves. She does not remember her past, but small clues in reactions and instincts lead her to believe her fate was less than pretty.
Irina currently serves as a paramedic and assistant, though her focus lies in researching refeeding syndrome, muscle atrophy, and resuscitation. Her expertise lies in emergency improvised medicine on the scene of the accident. She is said to be highly agile, highly optimistic, deeply caring, and skilled in hand to hand combat. There is reason to believe she is skilled with firearms but it hasn't been confirmed. She has no artifact, but is reported to go on a large amount of missions.
Irina regards Jiro much like an older brother and is extremely proud of her house.
It is also said that Irina might have a crush on one of the ghouls in Sinostra, but she denies it and claims it's "nothing more than a scientific curiosity." Irina is rather easy to fluster, though, all things considered.

Function of the Democratic Party
Grassroots Mobilization Happens > Mobilization Becomes a Threat to the Status Quo > Democrats find representatives of the most moderate elements, co-opt and hire them. > Co-opted Leaders Use the Language of Popular Movement to Funnel Energy Back Into the Electoral System > Nothing Fundamentally Changes > Repeat.
In keeping with the theme of staying aware of co-optation within social movements, this graphic remains highly relevant reminder of the function of the democratic party's function, historically.
There is nothing intrinsically "progressive" about the Democratic Party -- the vast majority of all gains made in terms of establishing protections for marginalized communities have come as the result of mass direct action, not because Democrats value them over profit.
The few mediocre reforms passed by the Dems and the lip-service paid to these oppressed communities serve two primary functions: a transparent bid to garner votes and discouraging revolt. Democrats desperately need to appear as the morally superior choice to their base of voters, even if they are functionally similar to their apparent "rivals".
This deception ensures that voters believe that their interests are represented, that the electoral system can be tweaked to work in the favor of the masses, when in reality it can only ever work in favor of corporations and those of extreme wealth -- the majority of whom are white, cisheterosexual and abled.
For examples of this phenomenon, we need to look no further than the Black Lives Matter™ movement.
While activists who engaged in direct action against the state were killed or thrown in prison, "celebrity" activists who mostly stayed away from the frontlines got invited as guests on talk shows, sold their books, rebranded as influencers or otherwise continued to use their association with the movement to further their careers or work for the campaigns of whichever politician could line their pockets and use them for social justice credibility.
In order to break this cycle we must:
Maintain a security culture that is resistant to co-optation This means realizing that cooperation with Democrats will always come with the risk that our demands and goals will become whitewashed into less secure, ineffective and counterproductive versions of themselves. We must resist the urge to elevate charismatic or experienced individuals to a position of permanent and centralized leadership within our movements. We must strive to create horizontal organizations and networks, and break with our reliance on "representatives", and be diligent in creating safer networks that are resilient to infiltration or sabotage.
Resist engagement with the electoral machine. There are often arguments made by "leftists" that we can engage in direct action or mutual aid and participate in elections -- however, given the massive amounts of money and labor used for these campaigns, what is more likely is that many of our allies will become enticed by the promised opportunity to have a "greater impact" on the political landscape while advancing their own professional careers in the process. However, the short term and conditional "impact" is nearly always offset by the fact that these campaigns primarily serve the interests of the individual politicians and their corporate sponsors and benefactors. Social impact will always be a secondary concern, at best.
Change the narrative. The Democratic Party, and electoral politics generally, sustain themselves on the myth that we are collectively too foolish and lack the necessary skills and power to effectively cooperate with each other to solve the critical issues that are affecting us. The conceit is that we must rely on representatives in the desperate hopes that they'll act in our favor once elected, that they'll keep the promises they've made instead of betraying us once more for profit and power. This myth of our own powerlessness has led to a vicious cycle of dependence, impotence and fear -- and has caused even those who claim to care deeply about social issues to turn on each other and blame fellow victims of this propaganda when they dare to resist the allure of elections instead of the puppet masters themselves. If we are up to the challenge, we can instead take control of the narrative and change it to reflect the reality -- that it's us who have the power to change our circumstances, heal our communities, stop the imperial war machine and begin living dignified lives. We can decide that instead of waiting around for leaders to save us, we can save ourselves. Self-determination is an internal process. No one can "give" us freedom -- we have to take it.

Okay okay so i went to see the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes yesterday (and i loved it) and after your post about the Nuff lookalike, I got to thinking about the games themselves
How do you think would the otwd gang respond in the event of being thrown into the hungergames? Like how would they act, would they group up, who would take care of others, who would eventually win (and maybe how would that affect their psyche and mental state afterwards oop)
This is just a very interesting question to me and id love to hear your thoughts about it!! For me this has always been a way to build certain parts of characters that aren't necessarily shown in stories, but are still important to know as the hungergames often drive people to either their lowest lows or their highest compassion
Anyways
Yeah this franchise is just smt that always me thinking LMAO
Omgg this is a difficult question! Prev gen is quick and easy: Gustav is obviously a district 4 boy and very clever but easily gets in over his head so he'd probably befriend a Career pack or somehow form an alliance with Cato. Unlike our fav Career of the same name, Cato is extremely district 12 coded (all lucy gray's songs!!!!) and very unfriendly and independent haha so despite his hunting skill I think he'd be underestimated and unwilling to join a pack. If he was in the same game as Gustav, he might join him but then (when he begins to suspect that he's next on Gustav's list) stab him in the back (or the eye). Cato is likely winning any game they throw him in, but in an actual hunger games au his rage against the Capitol would make him a risky victor. He wouldn't be cooperative afterwards and that could get him killed.
I don't wanna get into the Hiccup gang bc that's too difficult haha but my bets are on Astrid. As for the kids, it's hard to think about district splits bc it messes up their family dynamics so I won't try to sort that out.
Baldur and Rilla are textbook Careers, well trained with most weapons. Baldur in particular can win over a crowd and he's less honorable than Rilla so I think he'd get far and probably stab her in the back. He usually overestimates himself though, and that's one of his major flaws.
Nuffink is a loner, he wouldn't trust anybody in the games. He's mostly avoiding others and hiding, I can also see him luring others into striking range and he's pretty feral when forced to fight. I'm thinking of Thresh from Katniss's games. He gets a favorite weapon in itpn but not one that's usually in the Games afaik. I think a Career pack would have the best chance of taking him down.
Zephyr would have a Katniss-like technique, a mix of hiding/surviving in the wild with traps and occasionally ambushing others. I can see her and Bjorn teaming up regardless of if they know each other. I don't see Zephyr winning, though, even if Bjorn was trying to protect her. Like Peeta, he's charming the Capitol, winning lots of sponsors and working well with other tributes. It's been mentioned only once or twice, but Bjorn has well rounded talent with most weapons. Particularly spears. And he'd be an ideal victor, "a real hero" like his playlist says. Someone who can manage to win the Games in an honorable way despite the odds. The part of itpn I'm most excited for involves Bjorn being challenged and pushed to his limits in a way that's spiritually similar, I cannot wait to write his plot!
Eret's odds aren't great I fear. She's better trained in plants and climbing than fighting, similar to Rue or Foxface. She'd definitely try to sneak around poisoning people. She'd also be good at charming the Capitol in a real au scenario. But I don't see her winning either, somebody ruthless like Baldur or Tryggir would get her :(
Tryggir is a Career pack type who relies on others to back him up (like how Coral led the others), but I don't think he'd work well with Baldur or Rilla, so if he joins them he's going down early (or managing to take Baldur out). Either that or stays a loner until they take him out anyway.
If Sikka was in their Games (despite her age) she'd have a good chance too. Super sneaky and clever, super good tracker, good at fighting, very Katniss like in skill and temperament. She'd have a good chance at taking Bjorn down too.
So I think it's a coin toss between Bjorn and Sikka, with Sikka maybe having better odds. Probably not what you were expecting since they've barely been involved in the plot so far! But they will be :) They'd both be able to cope with life post games in a mostly normal way, I think, and they'd be good mentors. Both would understand that doing what it takes to survive isn't their fault, it's the system they live in. And I think they're both ideal recruits for a rebellion :) Characters like Baldur and Tryggir would be shameless victors, gloating and reveling in the attention. Nuffink would be a wreck as usual and I think Zephyr would be drowning in guilt. Eret and Rilla would be more like Sikka and Bjorn if they won, though I think Eret and Sikka would be very private and try to disappear from public eye.
I would ask the same about your ocs but I don't wanna put poor Siri through that 😭 the kids though mayhaps?
#district 12 cato is something im so passionate about#cato is a cog in the wheel like all the district folks and he hates the system#he'd burn it all down and the rest of the world too if he wasn't so focused on surviving every day

Queer Wargaming with Cards
Yeah we do wargaming.
With cards.
Extremely gay cards.
You know, the Transformers Deck-Building Game XD
It's a wargame in the sense that we've collected a bunch of expansions (we have the core autobot game, the core decepticon game, infiltration protocol expansion, and the war for cybertron core game) that would together enable 4v4 gameplay... we calculated that would mean having a card matrix (the battlefield as it were that gets flipped over to reveal allies, enemies, gear, friendly or enemy strategies, bosses, and locations, and battles resulting in defeated enemies leave ruins) of 6 x 6 (36 cards, with one starting polity) cards, and a 21+21+21+5 deck containing the bosses and more polities... (note the game rules go up to 2v2 or 3v1 or 4 player coop/team competitive but if one wants to get in more content and players you just increase the matrix from a 4 x 4 for four players to say, 4x5 for five, and add two cards to boss stacks, going from a 11+11+11+5 to 13+13+13+5, and so on for more players)
as a deckbuilding game, a core mechanic is collecting cards from the field and adjusting your deck and buffing cards and the like, all actions you take are with cards, whether repairing, attacking, blocking, assisting, recruiting, commanding, damaging, and so on. So inevitably you end up collecting a bunch of blorbos, tactics, and gear...
so it's completely unlike any other wargame in that every player is a sort of mass effect style commander who brings their team of blorbos (including humans and non-transformer aliens), gear, and tactics with them to wreck or charm opponents, lead polities, repair the tolls of war, collect relics, take down enemy leadership, protect each other, complete war goals, along with defending ones own leaders...
which is a very transformers premise, come to think of it, but it also feels a lot like ancient war stories, and very gay equivalent, both because of all that and because well, transformers has been very same-gender love uwu intentionally since 2012 which shows no signs of halting, and hit a gender expansive aspect too (the deckbuilding game so far only has sword arcee and overlord but we are sure more will turn up)... so suffice to say that uh we are glad this is the board game we decided to collect for-
its also a lot cheaper than wargames typically are for army building or what have you, and has a built in cooperative or solo mode if you don't want to fight your friends! for reference the amount of money we've spent on the game to now have a vast number of gal characters who would appear on the board is around the cost of a single Manticore missile tank from a certain grimdark game... (although that series is infamous for being much more expensive than other wargames)
speaking of women:

With the cards we have there are 11 different options for playable characters (the leaders of your decks) who either were introduced as gals (Arcee, Elita-1, Slipstream, and Windblade), have at least one gal iteration (Starscream, Skywarp, Ironhide, and Optimus Prime) or would have been canonized as gals but either that was turned down at the time or character cut from a continuity budget (Ratchet and Jazz respectively). If we had the Dinobot expansion that would put us at 12 since Swoop is a gal in Cyberverse.
also the alt modes are on the flip side, transforming is a key mechanic since you need your alt mode to move around usually (respectively, Ratchet: ambulance, Arcee: sports convertible, Elita-1: sports muscle car, Slipstream: fighter jet, Windblade: VTOL jet, Starscream: fighter jet, Skywarp: fighter jet, Ironhide: van, Optimus Primes: truck without the trailer, Jazz: sports car)

Dunno about you but that's a lot of options who are gals for any board game usually... and they vary vastly in capabilities, for example:
-Arcee (from the core/autobot set simply known as the transformers deck-building game) has a skill lay out that is built around moving quickly and gathering maneuvers to use selectively customize personal prowess while playing cards that, in our experience, tends to defeat/eliminate the most enemy npcs on the board (at least until the war for cybertron expansion). she also has strong synergy with her own npc card and the energy blades whose art of hers held by her from the same set.
On an obscure lore note, since the Matrix of Leadership card can be picked up by anyone who can play 8 power (having the power and the touch here doesn't seem to function on a morality basis but hey it doesn't always do that anyway), if you do it with her you can effectively play Arcana Magnus, which is close to the name that was considered for her if she had won the choose a Prime poll for the Power of the Primes toyline (for which she ran on a platform of giving up her career as a warrior, serving with honor, and focusing on reparations in the aftermath of the Great War)
-Windblade (war for cybertron bonus pack) can boost one of her cards while on a site (because of her cityspeaker thing) and can for 1 energon also teleport to allies / sites (another reference because of titans often having spacebridges, but also she's a flyer), and then draws a card she has card draw... on top of that for 2 energon she can recruit an enemy of 2-4 power so she can recruit from the start of the game without the matrix of leadership (which is the only other way to do this, from the core/autobot set)- so effectively politician Windblade has made it into the cardgame (which was so exciting to us), and she can also move allied players to an adjacent space when switching to alt mode, her team versatility is very different from Ironhide who is all about focusing on blocking attacks for teammates, or Ratchet who doles out assists and repairs like no tomorrow (this also uniquely positions Ratchet to defend friendly Autobot bosses)
-Slipstream (war for cybertron) is the first real starter sniper/gunship of the lot, she can give her starter cards +1 range and can also battle enemies not in her space with +2 range and +2 power which makes her a killer to rival arcee, and has card draw or can self heal 2 damage and in alt mode can choose a card from her discard to put on top of her deck so she is the deck engine blorbo (insert blue/red deck joke here)
-Elita-1 (war for cybertron) on the other hand has a sort of turn by turn engine because when she recruits an autobot they go on top of the deck for the next turn, so she can determine her next turn draw, and also can boost autobot cards- and most importantly, for each autobot she controls on the field in play, she can deal 1 damage to a target character, so um... Elita can completely mess up enemy players/teams, if she has five Autobots played on a turn she can hit someone in the same space as her for 5 damage... which means -10 points at the end of the game if not repaired! she is a menace even compared to the Decepticons in other other sets because of the amount of damage she can deal mid-late game. If one wants to reimplement the core game co-op/solo rule of a team loses when a character takes 5 damage, but instead do it as the player is taken out until getting at least a damage repaired (for the record we came up with this variant, but otherwise it's a death by a thousand cuts situation where you can keep racking up damage), this makes Elita extremely dangerous for shutting down opponents and also the ideal Autobot wielder of the Star Saber, since that card is in part for dealing damage to other players
-Skywarp (infiltration protocol bonus pack) on the other hand is all about scouting (Jazz from the autobot/core game bonus pack is even more so), utility, disruption, able to teleport upon transforming to altmode, flipping adjacent regions' cards face-up when playing a starter card for the first time on a turn, and able to either cause a friend to discard a hand and draw again -1 (which is handy if your pal does not like their hand and especially if they know what cards are next), or can do the same thing to an opponent to try to mess up their next turn or defensive actions they might take
-Optimus Prime's War for Cybertron variant is the strategic counterpart to her own (for clarification, Transformers Universe Optimus Prime and Yellow Splendid Convoy are she/her Optimi) autobot/core game card autobot card boosting and card draw/blcok capabilities and to Elita-1's guerrilla cqc style: this Optimus can block an attack from anywhere in the field against any player, while having the ability to draw a lot of cards or just build up victory points while on a polity
-Starcream actually has interesting counterplay to Elita in that she (she was a gal in the French dub of TFTM) can spend energon to give 1 damage dealt to her to a target player anywhere... and aside from this can also can battle Decepticons allies to gain their defeat rewards instead of adding them to her deck. Very Starscream
Some reviews of the game said it is lackluster with the lack of energon utility and having a lot near the end of the game- a rule was implemented in War for Cybertron capping the amount of energon one can have to 12, and also another rule (unsure if this was a rule before) established that cards spent to fight people could not have their move points be used after, so the game is now significantly more difficult hehe
We've played it a bunch of times with friends prior to acquiring War for Cybertron, it is easily one of our favorite games not just because of the intentionally queer-coded alien robots' art and personalities being all over the game, but also because the dynamic card synergy is enjoyable and the bosses can really mess you up if one doesn't have the right build. We aren't getting into this because we'd be here all day but the npc's personalities are certainly there: e.g. well known for her martial artist bodyguard iteration, Chromia (war for cybertron) helps players to gather maneuvers and to buff them in combat/diplomacy, along with having significant move and combat/recruiting capabilities herself (this could, for example, help Windblade collect combat and scouting cards, or enable Arcee to be even more deadly). There's other things we haven't tried yet, the Infiltration Protocol expansion comes with the eponymous six phases of Decepticon resource extraction invasion from IDW1 as a playable mode, and the bonus pack (which we have tried) came with Metroplex (who is an Autobot boss location rather than playable card), and also has a 1 vs team mode where the solo player is buffed significantly
anyway, we had to ramble about it because this game is cool as hell

Overlock Roblox Tier List Breakdown 📊🔥
The Overlock Roblox tier list is divided into five categories: S, A, B, C, and D tier. Characters are therefore sorted about performance, usefulness, and productivity during single-player translations and cooperation training drills. Let’s take a closer look at each tier: S-Tier Characters: Overpowered and Must-Pick 🏆👑 While S-Tier is considered the optimal and most reliable character within which to use Overlock Roblox. They exist in almost every aspect of the field and are defined by raw power complemented by accuracy and speed regardless of the game. Therefore, these, dear readers, are the characters which let you increase your possibilities of the prize-winning! - Volt ⚡ – Volt is swift and muscular, he takes the reigns with high speed and handles electricity to a number of enemies. Because of this, he has awesome Mobility which gives him the right place among tops both as the striker and the defender. His high speed also facts him from any dangerous situation apart from putting the opponents on the back foot. - Terra 🌍 – Terra as the name depicts, means earth/ ground, it is used for capturing the commanding area of the battlefield zone. Physically in manipulation ability, she is the type that can prevent the movements of the rival team, protect her teammates, and also have a great impact on the rival team. She can control the crowds due to her ability to have ability to shape the ground; another strength she is useful during team combat. A-Tier Characters: Strong, but Require Skill 🔥💪 As has been said earlier, A-Tier characters are indeed very powerful and the characters fit the tourney tier if not the tourney category; they might however not be extremely easy to control. Not as tanky as the heroes of S-Tier here yet these heroes have enough increase for one to be given the wheels and dealt the turning point of the battle. - Blaze is only good DPS as a hero but she has some sass and her attacks are fire-based. Her terrain control ability automatically makes her a god at controlling a crowd and makes her very useful during team battles. - These are generally powerful characters who can fight and have the potential to surely win games but for this, they might need a certain level of skills. Compared to S-Tier, they are not exactly broken, but these characters can and will win you the game. Blaze – Blaze is one of the great DPS characters and his appearance and general disposition may support fiery attacks. But effective use of Blaze involves positioning and timing to very well deal as much damage to the enemy as possible. - Nova – Nova specializes in long-range attacks, making her a great option for players who prefer to snipe enemies from afar. She’s mostly useful in the larger maps because the enemy will be far away while she will be closing and damaging at range. B-Tier Characters: Good, but Situational 🔄🎯 B-Tier characters are useful but tend to shine only in specific situations or game modes. They can still be very powerful in the right hands but aren’t as flexible as S or A-tier characters. - Echo – Echo can duplicate herself, confusing opponents and creating chaos on the battlefield. She’s great for strategic play but can be tricky to master. - Forge – Forge is a melee character who excels in close-quarters combat. However, his weak abilities in abilities that allow ranged attacks make him less flexible than the other superior characters. C-Tier Characters: Mediocre Choices 🤔💥 Characters that fall in the C-tier are more often than not portrayed as being average. Despite being better than the worst in this game in some ways they cannot make as much utility or damage as those in the higher tiers. - Quake – Quake can cause massive shockwaves, but his abilities are slow and easy to dodge. Any time he can dish out his attacks or block, but too slow to beat most other characters in the game. - Pulse 💻📄 – Pulse also has fairly decent crowd control but very low damage and HP pools so she is not that great in highly-ranked fights. D-Tier Characters: Avoid Picking 🚫😓 D-tier characters are thus slow on the meta and can be regarded as low-tier characters. They are fun to play casually but should be avoided if you would like to make real money on them. - Vapor ☁️ – All of Vapor’s moves are centered around the concept of stealth and while she may be non-threatening, her small amount of health/damage puts her in the category of characters that are merely interesting, but not capable of competing. - Fuse 💣 – The fuse is boring and too slow, movements are way too predictable. His explosives can still dish out a surprising amount of damage, but it’s easy to get around, which makes him annoying in the stressful match.
New Characters Added to the Tier List 🆕✨
Every update of Overlock Roblox also comes with the addition of new characters, and then the Tier List is affected. Volt joined the fray last year, and as for Terra, they both have shaken the metagame! - Volt ⚡: Those same two speed and electricity-based powers place Volt into the S-Tier from the get-go. Indeed his speed with which he navigates a battlefield evading blows and giving out a powerful hit to the contenders has made him so popular. - Terra 🌍: Terra is one of the strongest tank characters as a defender who can change the location of the battle itself successfully. Her interpersonal skills are great a fact that makes her outstanding in group combat and she is excellent at shielding her teammates. Both characters have shifted the balance of power, so be sure to check out the latest updates and news for more information about them.

India-Israel Cybersecurity Collaboration: Strengthening India’s Digital Defenses
India has catapulted to become one of the world's largest internet user bases, an indicator of the country's digital transformation that otherwise focuses on creating boom innovation and economic growth. This digital zeal has changed India to be a prime target for attacks trend which has created higher scepticism over the country's resilience to cyber threats and high vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure breaches to the financial sector. In this regard, cooperation with Israel, being a world leader in the field of cybersecurity technologies, appears one of the future directions for strengthening India's digital defence and ensuring the further security of its developing digital economy.
India has experienced over the past decade several large-scale high-profile cyberattacks, which have highlighted weaknesses in the security infrastructure of India. The mass power outage in Mumbai in 2020, for example, was suspected to be the result of an attack by hackers that was sponsored by the Chinese state. These blackouts have affected millions and thrown up red flags about India's power grids and other critical infrastructure. In 2018, for instance, cyber thieves hit Cosmos Bank by drawing ₹94 crore (about $13 million) into their account using a jumbo-size malware attack on the bank's ATM server. Each of these incidents reveals how vulnerable India's banking and infrastructure sectors have grown to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks.
Against such a backdrop, Israel's advanced security technologies in the field of cybersecurity prove to be excellent solutions for India. International recognition of skill for innovation in cybersecurity by the country has been such that it has yielded some of the most cutting-edge technologies for helping other nations make their defences tight across all sectors. AI-driven threat detection is such a technology where Indian defence can be precisely identified in real-time about actual potential cyber threats. Israeli companies like Cybereason and Deep Instinct are using AI and machine learning at the edge to detect most of these threats and stop them in their tracks. The case of the Mumbai power grid attack is an important example: if it had succeeded, it would have cut the power to almost half of India.
One other area of expertise that Israel has is that of Zero Trust architecture, where all inside and outside network users are considered threats. In a place like India, where digital and online transactions are increasing, the numbers of unauthorized access to the sensitive data and networks will be kept low with Zero Trust systems. Israeli firms like Ericom Software have developed advanced Zero Trust solutions that can equip Indian organizations and its banks with effective protection from internal and external threats to their networks.
Israeli technology could prove highly crucial for India's growing smart city initiatives when it comes to securing IoT devices. As India increases its urban infrastructure in association with connected technologies, the safety of IoT devices is of prime importance. Israeli companies like Armis are into IoT security and offer solutions that could help safeguard India's infrastructure, which is connected. As it is smart city projects form the centre of the urban development plan in the nation, cooperation in this area could prevent vulnerabilities that hackers could exploit in the future.
Mobile security is one area where Israeli innovation can be of extreme use. Millions of Indians bank, communicate and even do trade on their mobiles. Therefore, the necessity to keep mobile devices secure is grave. Companies like Check Point in Israel have a well-built solution for mobile security, one that can prevent malware, phishing and other mobile-specific threats. As India has a massive base of mobile users, it will check the risks which are widespread in the cyber world.
India and Israel already have reached an advantageous state in collaboration on cybersecurity, having agreed to collaborate in this critical sphere. The scope of cooperation is huge, though. For example, Indian and Israeli companies might come up with customized cybersecurity solutions tailored to India's needs. Likewise, knowledge sharing projects, such as training programs for Indian cybersecurity professionals, may further enhance India's capability to handle emerging threats.
India will continue with its great digital transformation, but only by securing its digital assets will be able to maintain the pace of economic growth as well as national security. Indian defense systems could be supported by Israeli high-end cyber technologies in facing the challenging, rapidly deteriorating hostile cyber environment. Such collaboration with Israel will help to strengthen India's cybersecurity and is part of a broader goal of building a secure, resilient digital ecosystem that helps support the nation's ambitions in the digital age.
