Green Daddy?
18+ Minors DNI!!!
Full Masterlist Marvel Masterlist
Pairing: Daddy!Bruce Banner x little!reader
Summary: Bruce turns into hulk….
Warnings: swearing, age regression, fighting, shouting, arguing, crying!!!(please tell me if I missed any!!!)
“Calm down You big Green Giant!” Tony said as he tried to hold onto the back of his arm.
Steve groans in pain as he feels the wall he was just thrown into break an echo going through the whole building.
Hulk threw his arm, causing Tony to go flying head first into a desk, luckily he was in his Ironman suit.
“Fuck me….” Nat said trying to catch her breath as she was also thrown off of hulks back, flipping her in the air directly onto the ground.
And that was when they heard a tiny voice amongst the shouting.
“Dada?”
“Sam” Tony shouted as he got up again trying to keep Bruce away from you.
Motherfucker. “Morning sweetie c’mere” Sam said in a high pitched voice as he held his arms out for you but you began to cry catching hulks attention.
“Dada? I want dada” you cried as you tried to push Sam’s arms off of you.
“C’mon pumpkin calm down” Sam said to you but it sounded more to himself when he saw hulk was walking towards you two.
He took two giant stomps whilst throwing Nat onto the floor and Thor into a wall.
“Cupcake?” Hulk roared as he stormed towards you and Sam.
“Fuck..fuck..” Sam muttered to himself as he shielded you behind him as you cried.
“Dada! I want my dada!” You cried as you tried to push Sam off of you.
You had seen hulk before, only once. And he accidentally bruised your arm from being too strong, but he didn’t mean to and everyone knew that except Bruce. He swore to never be around you as hulk after that.
Untiiiil now.
“Let her go” hulk roared to Sam as he tried to push him without hurting you.
“Hey you better get back! Because if you don’t then banner is gonna kill me!” Sam yelled and hulk shrugged pushing Sam away into the kitchen sides.
You gasped a cry when you saw Sam be thrown like that. “Dada! We don’t hurt friends!” You cried at him shaking a finger at him like he does to you.
Hulk sat down making the whole ground move.
He then hesitantly held his hand out, you walked onto it holding onto his finger when he lifted his hand up to his face.
“Cupcake” he mumbled to you softly, well soft for hulk anyway.
You was now eye to eye to him and he leaned in and gave you a ‘little’ peck on the nose but from his size it was more of a slobbery big kiss.
You giggled wiping your face.
You watched hulk slowly turn into your ‘normal dada’ again.
And instead of being in his hand you was now in his arms.
Bruce hugged you tightly breathing in your scent for comfort.
“Cupcake…you okay?” Bruce mumbled into your messy hair and you nodded
“M’tired dada” you yawned making him chuckle.
“Alright cupcake” he smiled holding you on his hip.
“Bruce?” Sam groaned in pain as he stood up.
“I’m sorry Sam..you alright?”
“Yeah no I’m great” Sam said sarcastically making you giggle.
“I’ll take care of these guys, you go get her to bed” Sam smiled at you giving your cheek a squish.
“Alright, see you in a bit” he said before taking you back to your bedroom.
“Dada you was Green! Like a booger!” You squealed making him laugh.
“I know baby..I know” he said through a chuckle.

Jennifer shrinks back to her human form in front of Y/N…
Jennifer: this is how I normally look.
Y/N: wow
Jennifer: I-I know it’s not as glamorous as-
Y/N: you’re still beautiful
Jennifer: I-I am?
Y/N: the hulk persona is one facet of you, if a person can’t love all facets of you then they’re totally in the wrong
Jennifer: so you like me as just Jen?
Y/N: I love her
Jennifer giggles and jumps into Y/N’s arms…

Steve, rubbing his temples: I am not proud of what I am about to say, but someone get me a cigarrette.
Clint: But Steve, we don't smoke.
Steve: Cut the crap, Clint. I'm not an idiot. I know that one in five people smoke.
Steve: *points at Tony* One! *points at Thor* Two! *points at Natasha* Three! *points at Bruce* Four! *points at Clint* Five!
Steve: Now, I am going to close my eyes, and when I open them, there better be a cigarrette between these two fingers!
Tony: *puts a cigarrette in Steve's hand*
Steve: Thank you. ...Light?
The Squad: *all simultaneously pull out lighters*

Y/n looking around the common room, with all of the Avengers talking, playing board games, and watching movies.
They sigh in content, finally feeling relaxed and safe.
Sam: What are you so smiley about L/n?
Y/n hums: Just happy is all
The others glance around at each other and smile. Y/n had been pretty new. Coming from a bad background like most of them. This was the first time they said something like that.
Tony: I think this calls for an Avengers pile.
Y/n's eyes widen in horror.
Y/n: Dude, I said I was happy, not wanting death.
Thor: To late!
All of the Avengers pile onto the couch with Y/n effectively trapping them.
Y/n struggles and tries to get away.
Y/n: Guuuuuuysssss! Get offah me! This sucks!
Nat hums: Bull
The others murmur agreements.
Not too long after Y/n gives up and just lets it happen.
Y/n: ..... okay, maybe this is nice
Peter: I knew you loved us!
Y/n half asleep but still sarcastic as ever: Don't tell my teammates. It'll go to their heads.
They chuckle, and after a while, they all drift off to sleep.
It was a sight to see for Maria the next morning. The Earth's Mightest Heros and most skilled people in a giant pile on the couch happily sleeping.

Relationship: Bruce/Hulk x Reader
WC: 1.5k
CW: Fluff. Lots of cuddles. Soft kisses. Implied Tony being a dickhead. Working in customer retail sucks.
Tumblr media
In every way that mattered, your life had improved immeasurably since you and Bruce had started dating. You already had a friendship, a connection, and you couldn’t believe how easy the two of you just fit.
It was still early days though - you had your shifts, and when Bruce, or rather the Hulk, wasn’t off saving the world with the other Avengers, he had his research and other interests. You didn’t want to live in each others pockets, but still made the effort to see each other at least three times a week, and spoke on the phone all the other days.
You’d introduced him to your small circle of friends, and none of them realised who he actually was, aside from being a sweet nerd who’d swept you off your feet. It was the one advantage of having two personas, you supposed - it meant that he could maintain privacy when out and about.
In return, Bruce had invited you to come and meet the other Avengers. He’d done that charming thing of coming over all shy, asking you while cleaning his glasses with his shirt, so that he wouldn’t have to look at you and risk rejection.
“I mean, you only have to come if you want to. I don’t want you to be disappointed or overwhelmed, because they can be a handful. Tony will tease me… and flirt with you, Steve’s actually got a filthy potty mouth, Nat can be pretty intimidating, Thor, when he’s here, is loud and Clint… well… he’s got a specific sense of humour.”
You’d reached out and placed your hand on his arm, and he’d put his glasses back on and looked at you, expression unreadable.
“I’d love to meet them, and not because they’re the Avengers, but because they’re your friends and colleagues.”
“As long as you’re sure.”
You’d shifted closer, cupping his face with your hand and brushing your nose against his.
“Certain.”
They’d been everything Bruce had described and more, but you’d won them over, and now had your own Avengers Tower access clearance. Sometimes you and Bruce met up there, especially if he was working late, or had been on a mission. It was also the best space for you to hang out with Hulk. The green giant was actually a massive cuddle bug, and enjoyed lounging in his/Bruce’s room, watching Disney movies with you while eating insane amounts of popcorn and candy.
At first, Bruce had been reticent about letting you spend time with his other persona, but you’d convinced him that you would be fine. You knew almost from the first moment that you’d met him that you and Hulk would be friends, because he and Bruce were two sides of the same coin - he would never hurt you.
Now, so far in your relationship, it had all been sunshine and roses - well, apart from that night, but considering what it had led to, you couldn’t be too upset - you and Bruce having cute dates, sweet kisses and lots of laughter.  As you got off the subway you hoped that he’d be able to manage something different, and you didn’t mean intimacy. Well, that would be nice, but also, you were content to wait until it felt right for both of you. What you did need today was comfort, because it had been A Day TM (a really shitty day) because even the best relationship could improve what it was like to work in a retail job.
It wasn’t as though you weren’t used to asshole customers - you had to usually deal with one or two every day, but today! It was like they’d all held a meeting and decided to show up at the same time and be meaner and more horrible than normal - asking for complex drinks that made no sense, then telling you that you’d done it wrong, when you’d actually triple checked with them before starting.
Walking up to the front entrance of the tower you fanned your face, trying to disperse the tears that threatened to fall from just thinking about it. You wouldn’t let them bring you down!
Striding into the building, you flashed your access card to the security guard before swiping it at the executive elevator. You were glad that you’d be able to travel straight to Bruce’s floor. He wasn’t expecting you at this time, but one of your colleagues had owed you, so you’d ended your shift a couple of hours early and made your way straight here. Hopefully you’d be able to hang out in his room while he finished up his work for the day. Or maybe you could keep him company in the lab if you signed some kind of NDA.
You could feel yourself spiralling and you swallowed back a small cry, turning it into a hiccup as the elevator came to a halt and you virtually stumbled out into Bruce’s living room…
… to be met with the sight of Hulk, sitting on the floor, worry beads around his neck, watching Lilo and Stitch.
His face broke into a broad smile when he saw you, and he clambered to his feet as quickly as he could.
“Pretty Girl!” He turned and looked at the clock and then back at you. “Pretty Girl early!”
You bit your lip and nodded. Despite your mood, a small smile played at the edges of your mouth.
“Uh-huh. I just needed to see you… or Bruce.”
Hulk looked at you for a moment, and blinked. “Pretty Girl okay that Hulk here, not Bruce?”
You nodded, his earnestness and innocence threatening to destroy the last of your control. You took a step towards him, followed by a second and then you were throwing yourself into his arms, pressing your face against his chest and letting the tears of frustration flow.
Slowly, Hulk wrapped his arms around you, and you noticed he was a little unsure.
“Pretty Girl sad. Did bad man come back and try hurt you?”
You lifted your head, and sniffed with a little smile. “No. Nothing like that. Just a bad day at work.”
You eased out of his hold so you could drop your purse and take your coat off.
“How Hulk help? Want Hulk smash?”
He was too sweet. It was tempting.
“No. No smashing. Just be you, buddy. Sit back down and I’ll join you - we can finish watching together. I just need some cuddles.”
He let out a light snort and lumbered back over to his pile of cushions, dropping down heavily. You knew that Tony had had this floor reinforced, but you were still astounded when the floor didn’t shake. Once he appeared comfortable you joined him, climbing up into his lap and pressing into his side. He was so warm!
You watched in silence together for 10 minutes or so, both of you letting out the odd bark of laughter at the antics of Lilo and her extraterrestrial friend. You could feel yourself calming down just through this - being here and being cared for, with no expectation, something that previous boyfriends had never given you.
You were glad you had Bruce, and Hulk. Which brought you back to why the latter was here.
“Hey, Big Guy. Any reason you’re out today? Was there a mission, because I know Bruce had a load of scientific stuff to do today.”
You felt his body stiffen under you.
“No mission. No smash. Stark happen.”
You sighed - it stood to reason.
“Did he frighten Bruce again?”
He let out a resigned huff.
“Wanted to know what makes Hulk appear. Now Hulk not want to go back. Hulk come here, home. Watch movies, try to be calm.”
You rose up on your knees and pressed your palm to his cheek, feeling him lean into it gently.
“So you’ve had a bad day too? I’m sorry. What about if I get some more snacks and you pick another movie. How does that sound?”
“Hulk like snacks. Hulk like movies. Hulk love Pretty Girl.”
You dropped a kiss to the corner of his mouth.
“Love you too, Big Guy.”
You got up, and went to the kitchen, rummaging through the cupboards for enough snacks to keep Hulk sated. You smiled to yourself as you heard him talking to FRIDAY, picking the next thing you were going to watch. Snacks and drinks obtained you took your place, back on his lap.
The opening credits played and you smiled - the Little Mermaid.
“You know, if you ever have this problem again, ask FRIDAY to call me. I’m more than happy to help cheer you up. We’re friends, aren’t we?”
“Yes. Hulk and Pretty Girl best friends.”
You both settled down then to watch Ariel fight for her true love. Hulk kept an arm around you, holding you close, but without squashing you, and every so often you ran your hand up and down his arm or scratched your fingers into his black hair, quietly soothing him.
About 10 minutes from the end, Hulk started to fidget and shift under you. You got up and watched as he slowly shrank, and his skin returned to pink. Bruce looked up at you, slightly chagrined, from the pillow nest on the floor. “Hey.”
You smiled and sat back down next to him, wrapping your arms around one of his and leaning your head on his shoulder. “Hey, yourself. Feeling better?”
“Absolutely.” Bruce leant over and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “And you? Sorry I wasn’t here to help.”
“Not your fault. And I’m sure there will be another day with a-hole customers. I’m also certain that Tony won’t frighten Hulk out of you again.”
Bruce chuckled. “You give him more credit than he’s due. Although he might not try it again for a while - the Other Guy smashed up his new Porsche…”
You couldn’t help it - you laughed out loud, cuddling into your boyfriend, and realising that life wasn’t so bad after all.

cw: nothing i can think of, husband! nico, barbie references, nico doesn't know what toner is, reader saves nico from having YELLOW hair
wc: 275
Tumblr media
"nico... what have you done?" you asked your husband as he walked out the bathroom. you should've known something odd was happening- nico never spent more than an hour in there.
your husband grinned, running a hand through his newly done- borderline yellow- hair, "isn't it good? i really look like ken!"
your jaw drops before you cover your mouth to stifle a laugh, "its a little... yellow..." you giggled, placing your phone down and walking over to your husband. he leaned down slightly so you could run your hand through his hair.
"have you ever heard of toner, darling?" you asked- nico frowned, shaking his head slightly,
"...what's toner?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. you laughed even harder, which made him laugh as well- mostly in confusion.
you pulled back, furrowing your brows together, "well... to the salon!" you pushed him back into the bathroom, placing him down on the closed toliet seat and shuffling though the box dye to find the purple paste. you held it up to him and he shrugged,
"i didn't know it was... like that, you know" he sighed, letting you massage it into his hair. you shook your head, stifling another laugh,
"at least you have your very own barbie to help, nic" you offered to the man. he grinned, wrapping his arms around your waist- although, it was very awkward, as he was sitting on the toilet - and let you work your toner magic.
"now i just fit the part, huh, barbie?" he joked, letting go slightly. you rolled our eyes, stepping back to admire the purple product in his yellow hair, and nodded,
"sure, ken, sure"

It's only pretend right? ( Bucky barnes x reader) part two
Tumblr media
summary : the morning the two get to the ranch only to discover the stay is longer than intended , Bucky meets her family some great and some honestly pissed him off , as if the seeing her judgemental family her ex was also there but still in all that she ignored it ready to show bucky they things that made her love coming home shitty extended family or not
warning: majority of this is fluffy some shitty people but bucky is there to keep her smiling
(previous part )
“ wakey wakey kiddo” Clint's voice boomed throughout the room sending her startled form out the bed. “ we’re leaving in 20 minutes. I was also informed to tell you that  Bucky will have food and coffee  on the jet” he chuckled seeing her on the floor glaring up at the man.
“ gotta ask laura if she would enjoy the widow life , ” she grumbled heading towards the bathroom .
“ nah she loves me too much and so do you ,  just not like how you love  bucky” he teased .
“ Everybody knows I like bucky?”she came out a minute later.
“ everyone but bucky , enhanced sense my ass” he muttered.
“ it’s 5 am even steve knows to not wake me up so early bird man what is your deal ” she whined looking at the phone.
“ Get dressed, you can sleep on the jet” he called, pushing her back to the bathroom with the clothes the girls were so kind to pick out for her the night before.
“ when did you become so bossy?” she growled
“ Oh shut up , get dressed,” he chuckled .
“ told you she doesn’t like to be woken up , she didn’t stab you either that good” nat assessed.
“ she didn’t get a chance” he winked.
“ Nat Your MALE best friend is going to be visiting the bermuda triangle so say bye bye” she walked out rubbing her  eyes and yawning before shooting the man with another glare.
“ Nice knowing you barton , you grumpy sit down” she saluted the man before taking the hair brush in her hand. She sat as nat tackled the bird nest that was her bed head eyes dropping slightly  .
“ Ten more minutes” she mumbled before Clint lifted her up, making her yelp before walking out the room and down the hallway , Nat following after.
“Are you excited to see your family kid?… Y/n … is she .. she’s asleep” he turned to see nat standing trying to suppress her laughter as the woman on his shoulders let out soft snores .
“ oh this little shit”he grumbled heading out to the jet .
“ hey doll” bucky smirked seeing  clint carrying her onto the jet.
“She’s still asleep” he grunted, placing her down on the chair as she stirred , waking up again.
“ Here's some coffee doll,” the man smiled .
“ hey thank you bucky , good morning” she beamed before taking a generous gulp. “ Where was my goodmorning “ Clint looked to her, arms crossed.
“ back in the room when you scared it out of me” she took the tupperware filled with food.
“ Just friends my ass” he turned, seeing the two filled with adoration for each other .
The trip wasn’t long enough when Clint landed the jet near her family's ranch before rushing them out .
“ Enjoy , have fun  and I'll collect you guys in two weeks” he called a mischievous smirk as the two spun around.
“ Did  he just say two weeks?” she asked.
“ he did and apparently we weren’t told” he held up the phone to see the team texting them to enjoy the time off.
“ I mean I have Stark's black card so the second week doesn’t have to be here” she held the black plastic up and a devious smirk on her face.
“  I mean I could use a vacation” he chuckled, both turning to see her mother and father coming out smiles painted on their faces as they walked up the drive.
“ Natasha just told me we have you both for two weeks isn’t that exciting,” her mother cooed.
“ she is not getting that prada bag.. Hey mama , pops where is everyone” she smiled softly hugging them.
“ Nice to see you sir , ma'am,” bucky smiled, shaking their hands.
“ Son, call me frank” her father pulled him into a hug .
“ and me beth , your aunt owes me fifty  for this” she giggled, hugging  her then him . “So good to see you both  but i must say seeing her smile this hour of the morning is strange, you must have the touch mr barnes” her father chuckled.
“ Please call me Bucky or James, please both of you and I didn't wake her. It is my secret” he laughed.
“ I aint that bad” she grumbled.
“ doll loki is afraid to go near your room in the morning and i think Clint learned his lesson” he nudged her softly.
“ he’s not wrong , i mean you nearly stabbed jack” her mother nodded.
“ Well my dumbass brother shouldn’t have worn a mask” she rolled her eyes.
“ Speaking of Jack , he  and Helen and Izzy and Maya are staying at a hotel along with the rest of the family.”  her mother smiled as she and her father cheered.
“ oh give it up to you two , grandma is still staying here” her mother rolled her eyes. `` which one?” she whispered to her dad while Bucky smiled at the close bond the two seem to share.
“ Her mother ,  so the evil one” her dad winced.
“ Bucky ..baby you’re catholic right? '' she asked .
“ I mean I was back in the 40s” He almost melted at the pet name.
“ She's going bingo Thursday  so Izzy will propose to Maya then  it will be just us as a family rest will be out ” her mother sadly smiled.
“ Why do we have to entertain these assholes?” Y/N asked.
“ Because they are still family, '' her mother shot back .
“ Well they don’t treat us like that,” she shook her head.
“ it's not even for the full week we can do it kitty” her dad wrapped his arm around her as they approached the house. “ your mama set your room up for both of you so bring your bags up and join us for breakfast” he smiled as she froze turning to her friend.
“ Sorry I didn’t think we’d have to share a room for a week, nevermind two” she winced.
“ it’s ok we bunked together on a mission and sleepover in the compound” he brushed it off pretending his prayers weren’t just answered and frankly he thought his acting skills were Oscar worthy at that moment .
“ ok we can do this” she nodded before taking his hand in hers .
“ Show me the way, little cowgirl” he winked, making her burst into laughter.
Thankfully the rest of the morning was quiet once they finished breakfast ,she helped her mom with preparing lunch while Bucky offered to help her father with some of the chores on the ranch.
“ My , my a  little kitty has gotten into the kitchen” she heard the voice before she felt him lift her up swinging her in a bruising hug.
“ Jack in the box” she laughed excitedly.
“ Where is this fella who thinks he’s good enough for my little sister?” he puffed his chest and stood a little taller.
“Behind you” her father chuckled as the two walked into the kitchen .
“ holy shit that’s sergeant james barnes' ' her brother's tough guy act fell instantly.
“ aww shit i owe mama 50” her sister izzy pushed past the men before hugging her sister tightly.
“  Who else owes you money?” She turned to her mother.
“ A couple of your uncles and aunts,” she shrugged, heading back to the food.
“ So where are my future sister in laws?” she asked quietly.
“ how good at you with controlling that little gift of yours” jack stood back shooting izzy a worried glance.
“ Why are you asking?” she crossed her arms as the man gulped.
“They’re outside with Eli. '' Izzy called  hiding  behind jack.
'' as in the cheating ,  dick of an ex left me alone in a big city alone , that eli '' she felt the heat on her finger tips til a sudden coldness snapped her back to reality  .
“ I got you, '' Bucky whispered in that voice, instantly melting the annoyance.
“ fuck please never leave” izzy patted the man on the back
.” yeah took us forever to grow out our  eyebrows last time  , he’s my best friend and helen's brother” he smiled sadly to his sister .
“ KITTY” her head whipped to see the two women pulling her to their arms.
“ good to see you Y/N” his voice had the hair on her body standing like bucky could sense it pulling her to him and wrapping his arm around her waist tightly.
“ See my sister the avenger pulled sergeant james barnes” Jack smiled brightly.
“ Please, it’s bucky” he waved to them .
“I'm a big fan, Bucky,” Eli smiled.
“ Mr. Barnes to you son” he turned, ignoring the outstretched hand pulling the knife out of his back pocket . " i forget i had this , hey beth why do i help you with lunch my knife skills are almost criminal " he smirked seeing the man pale .
“ I like this one,” her father beamed.
“ Me too” Helen chuckled before shooting her own brother a glare.
.................
“ So how did y’all meet?” Eli asked, taking his seat across , most of the family arriving.
“ work dummy” Helen rolled her eyes.
“ oh yeah your mom told us you took to being an avenger , what are you the secretary? '' her uncle joked.
“ No, she is part of the team , she beast on a mission.. But always safe, super cautious "Bucky spoke up ,then he added seeing the worry on her parents' faces .
“ I mean she's always been a spitfire,” Jack chuckled.
“ yeah she beat up those boys that picked on you when we were kids” izzy high fived her little sister.
“ You allow her to do that,” another uncle scoffed.
“ I don't own her so she’s free to do what she wants ma’am” bucky laughed thinking it was a joke but from her expression , he wondered what else she hid from the team when it came to her own family.
“ We thought it was made up, “ her aunt laughed as her shoulder tense.
“ Is  your son  out of rehab yet oh sorry i wasn’t supposed to say that was i? is he out of that college for drugs ” her father asked as she and her sibling hide the giggles.
“Hey bucky wanna see my horse? '' she asked, feeling the man's jaw clench and tension build throughout the table .
“ Sure doll” he smiled softly when his eyes set on her . Almost pulling him out the door as they all watched judging like always . she barely got out the door before he pulled her to a halt .
“ ok what the hell was that” he asked with an almost sad tone in his voice.
“ I may be the black sheep of a judgmental as hell family. I know I should've warned you,” she let out a sigh, wringing her hands.
" Is this why you don’t visit home much?” he asked softly.
“ You cracked that code huh?, i mean even if she can be bitchy i still write to my grandma and my folks visit and i ring siblings regularly but the rest i avoid because i’m never good enough and I thought maybe with a boyfriend and great job would help nope” she sighed.
“ How long are they staying for?” he asked, wrapping his arms around as she melted in his embrace.
“ They leave in a couple of days which is too long” her father's voice rang out. “ you ok kitty?” he asked softly.
“ I'm fine papa , we're going to bring bucky on my trail ” she smiled sadly.
“ What is this kitty I keep hearing?” Bucky asked, smiling as her cheeks heated.
“ oh she ain’t told you that one yet , ” her father chuckled . “ After the madness i’ll tell you “ he added before walking into the house.
“ Let's go see these horses” she rushed off before he could ask her more.
“ Oh no back here doll face ” he chuckled, chasing after her as her father watched from the front door with a smile so wide he couldn’t remember the last time he saw it so free on her face not a force one as she took the battering of their words  .
“ he's a bit old for her, no? '' her fathers eyes rolled walking in they barely waited til she was out the door before the nit picking started .
'' yeah isn’t he like a hundred or something” eli added.
“ he was frozen doesn’t count” her brother shook his head
“ he makes her smile i don’t care if he is a thousand years old” her father almost snapped at the guest at the table.
“ That job is so unsafe, people are gonna know she one of those thing ” her aunt shook her head.
“Well ain't we lucky you ain’t doing it , she could be a lunch lady and you’d find a problem in it and ain't nothing wrong with her ” he looked at the woman .
“What is your problem with Y/N? least she not a junkie or a dim witted whore like your kids '' izzy asked hating how it was alway y/n they would attack or show disgust at .
'' You know what our problem is? She’s not even … ''.
“ everybody stop yelling and eat your food” the elderly woman yelled, instantly shutting them up, eyeing the sneaking touches from her eldest granddaughter before the two went to eat their food. “ Sorry mama” and “ grandmama” were uttered around the table as the woman looked out the window  at her granddaughter running around smiling . “ she is very happy” she murmured as the rest ignored her words, bragging about their fake lives .

“ Here bucky bear is star , she is the best horse in the state nah in the whole of the US although i might be biased”she winked as she patted the mare’s side.
“ she is a pretty one, star nice name ,it's cute ” he mused but  a black mane caught his eyes . “ Who's this?” he asked, walking toward the one across.
“ Oh moon,  he's the new one , my pops rescued him , the previous owner said he ain’t nothing good but my dad sees the best in everything i think i get that from him” she smiled .
“ he seems ok to me” he patted the horse .
“ he’s misunderstood like someone i know” she mused only for the horse to kick the stall . “ You must be fed up there huh buddy” she mused.“ What do you say bucket wanna  see my childhood being little cowgirl and all that ” she walked towards the saddles.
“ Lead the way doll” he smiled as she handed it to him but the minute the stall opened the jet black stallion made its way toward the almost stark white mare's head rubbing hers.
“ oh you dirty dog come kicking a fuss for the ladies huh ? ” she chuckled pulling them apart as she led star out both getting them ready before she hopped up with ease.
“ you make that too easy” he chuckled before not so gracefully getting on the stallion before she took head.  Bought passing the window as her father and brother almost fell over each other seeing bucky easily walk by .
“ catch me if you can” she giggled before taking off down the trail as his horse followed  after .
“ Hey, this guy is doing the work” he called.
“ That's because I think he is  in love” she giggled, enjoying the feeling of the wind in her hair , taking full advantage given she didn’t get to do stuff like this back in the compound.
“ he’s not the only one” he sighed following after her. Watching her so free and smiling wider wondering if he could get tony to get something like this on the compound just to see her look like that more often .

trouble man
Tumblr media
EVERY THOUGHT HAS BEEN UNDER SCRUTINY. She thought about it hard enough for her to come back home to her parents. It had been three months since the incident, and he gave her nothing but radio silence. While she suffered alone through confusion and betrayal.
It was a rainy night in NYC. But she did not let the weather wipe away her excitement about seeing friends on a Friday night. Chatter and music, specifically Trouble Man by Marvin Gaye, were what welcomed her into the bar while she wandered her gaze to search for her company tonight.
She walked further over the bar and found someone she didn’t expect to see. It was Steve. She figured it out from the back because of his vintage leather jacket. She was confused at first. He told her that he would be at work the whole weekend. So this must not be him. But eventually, a smile crept onto her lips, realizing it might be him. It’s been a week since she last saw him. How she missed him.
Only to be abrupt with a frown when a slender figure crossed her sight. A random lady in a bodycon was batting her lashes at the man in front of her.
Confusion was written all over her face as she watched the two exchange timid laughter. She froze on her spot and couldn’t approach them. She watched as she slapped his biceps playfully. She was confused, but she wasn’t dumb. She saw how the lady started to lean in on him. As if she was about to kiss him.
“Steve..?” She was weak in the knees at the scene in front of her. But her fragile voice calling out to him was her only way of defense. To try to stop whatever was about to unfold.
She prayed so hard. She prayed so hard in those milliseconds before the man looked behind him. She prayed for him to not be her man.
But those same innocent blue eyes found her frayed ones. His expression was quick to change from confusion to shock. He stood up from his seat when he realized that it was her who called out his name. He looked back at the random lady he was talking to and back to his woman. Her eyes held pain as she looked back at him.
When it hit him what she must've thought about what was happening, he was about to speak, but the woman behind him interrupted him.
“Do you know her?” The lady behind him said. He closed his mouth before saying what that was about to punch her in the gut.
“No.”
No.
No. He did not know her. Those two letters echoed in her mind. They were like daggers stabbing her in the chest as it repeated again and again.
“Oh, okay. Let's get you another drink. Excuse me, another whiskey over here, please!”
He didn't even glance back at her before turning his attention back at the lady, and it broke her.
She was embarrassed. She was hurt. She was confused. She was denied.
She was about to turn her back and leave, but her name was yelled.
When she looked back and saw her friends, she remembered what she came for. She saw the blond man and the lady once again talking, and it now infuriated her as she marched past them.
She tried to compose herself before speaking to people who knew her. “Hey, uhm, have– have you guys seen Steve here before I arrived?”
“Steve? Oh, right. That's Steve?! We thought it wasn't him 'cause that man has been flirting with that lady over there all night…”
She nodded and wiped away the single tear that fell from her eye. “Okay. I'll head home now. I'm sorry.”
They called out to her and tried to chase her. “—wait!”
She ran past the two again and headed outside in the rain. She didn't stop and she didn't know why. She kept running until a beaming light and a deafening horn from a vehicle stopped her in her tracks.
“Watch where the fuck you're going lady!” And it ran over her.
Her friends called from behind her and ran to her. “What the hell are you doing?! You could've died! You're all wet now! What happened?”
She couldn't form any words. All she could do was break down in tears in the streets of New York at midnight.
“Sweety.. Did he not tell you he was gonna be there?” Her friend's tone became gentler, and she looked at her and shook her head.
“What an asshole. I expected better than that from Captain America. Come on, darling, let's get you home and dry.”
She reacted the way she did to the incident that night. She listened to her friend when she said to ignore him no matter what he does because he deserves it. Although, even when she planned to hear his side, and have him explain everything to her, none of it happened. He did not reach out to her. He did not come to her and explain everything. So she had nothing to ignore and give another chance to, which tore her to pieces day by day.
A fresh breezy wind passed by her skin as she sat down with a book in hand. That was three months ago. She decided to come to her hometown and stay away from the city that screamed his name. Here, she was surrounded by people she could trust and feel safe with.
“Honey, you have a visitor.” When she saw her mother's excited smile, she couldn't help but still hope. She wishes that it would be him. The past three months were still fresh, and every thought that crossed her mind was him. It never changed.
“Coming.”
She entered the living room and found a familiar face. Disappointment poked another hole in her chest. She brushed it off with a fake smile, as she was still surprised. “Paolo? Oh my, it's been so long!” The grown man smiling wildly at her ran to her open arms and embraced a friendly hug. It was her childhood friend from their village.
“So.. What brought you here?”
“I heard you were back in town, so I figured why not visit you, aye?” She nodded and gave him a small smile.
“Of course.”
“So, can I take you out? This town misses you so much. I know I do.”
“Take me out? Like.. a date?” She awkwardly asked. She wasn't ready for that. She's not available. Yet.
She invited him to sit on the couch with her. “Yeah! Why? Are you single?”
“No. She's taken.” That voice. That baritone voice struck her like lightning. It straightened her back and widened her eyes.
She slowly looked up and saw home. She found and finally felt at home when she met his ocean eyes. She was once again falling for his innocent eyes.
“I'm so sorry I took so long, love.”
He was slowly walking up to her. She was speechless. She wanted to cry. She wanted to run into his arms. She had forgotten why she hadn't seen him for months, and she just wanted to feel his arms around her. It was all she wanted to do as tears filled her eyes.
“Who’s this? Do you know this guy?”
“Do you know her?”
“No.”
All of a sudden, she remembered what she felt three months ago at the bar where he denied her.
“No. I don't know this guy. Mom! Why did you let a stranger in!” She stood up and glared at him. She tried to find her mom, but when she walked past him, he grabbed her by the arm and made her face him. His eyebrows creased in confusion as he cupped her face.
“Love? What's wrong?” She frowned and held his hands on her cheeks to take it off and fight. He let her take off his hands on her face, but he pulled her closer by the waist.
“Why are you acting like this, baby? Tell me what's wrong.”
“What the hell is wrong with you, Rogers?!” He looked even more confused at her anger. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“Language.. baby.” She threw his arms off her waist and broke free.
“Have you gone insane? How dare you come to my parents’ house and act like nothing happened!”
“What? Love, I don't understand.”
“Will you stop acting like you don't remember? You're a goddamn super soldier, for goodness sake!” His face became serious, and he called her name.
“Tell me what's wrong. I don't understand.”
“What’s wrong? Ask what's right! What's right with what you did, Steve! Nothing! Nothing's right! Nothing was correct with that!” She suddenly found herself hitting his chest as she sobbed.
“What did I do, baby? Please, tell me.”
“You denied me!”
It nearly broke her apart as she said those words. “You.. denied me.”
“What? When?”
“At the bar! When I last saw you! And I didn't hear one thing from you for the past three months, and now you barge in like nothing fucking happened? You're unbelievable.”
“At the bar? Baby, I was on a mission. I was undercover. I told you that. I called you.” She looked at him as if she couldn’t believe him.
“What? You’re really using your job as an excuse?”
“No, sweetheart, I would never do that. It was a mission. I intended to let you know, but you weren’t picking up your phone.” She felt ridiculed. She wiped her tears as she shook her head. She pushed him gently for some space and looked away.
“Okay..” She exhaled as she took in his excuses. “Then explain why I heard nothing.. Not a single thing from you for the past three months, Steve Rogers.”
He hesitated at first. It sounded as ridiculous as he knew it would be to her. “I.. I was at work. We were in Sokovia for a mission.” He looked down with a frown in shame.
“And you had zero chance to call me? You saw how I reacted to your “mission.” You saw me in that bar. You gave me radio silence, Steve. How do you expect me to react?”
“I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I’m truly sorry, love. I didn’t think you would take it that way.” Sincerity flashed in his coral-addicting eyes. And he sounded like a troubled man. He was sorry. He sounded genuine, and it healed something inside of her.
“I thought you'd understand.”
“Well, I guess it's just unfair for you to expect me to understand all the damn time.”
They bore their eyes into each other. He was trying to read her emotions, but there was nothing there now.
“Excuse me?” She suddenly remembered that she had a visitor.
“I.. I’m sorry. I forgot you were here.”
“It’s alright.” He stood up and walked over them. “I’ll just come back and tell you more about our date.” Steve was quick to react to the man’s words. He frowned at him.
Steve watched as she gave him a forced smile, and leaned in to whisper something while he rub her back in their side hug. He grinned at her before leaving.
Once the man was out of sight, he asked, “So... you’re dating now?”
“It’s none of your business.” She was full of spitefulness, and it was obvious on her frigid tone. His brows creased as he questioned her.
“It is my business. You’re mine. We’re not over yet, love, it’s only a misunderstanding.” He was starting to plead as he was ready to. He was ready to do anything to get back the woman who made his heart beat again after 1945.
“I think after hearing nothing from me for three months? You’ll assume we’re done too.” He frowned and looked down. He nodded. He couldn’t knock down her icy guard. He was built to tear down forces to protect the people. But her defense against him seems to be unbeatable. He wouldn’t give up. Not on her. But he was still hurt.
“I will give you some space.” He turned his back on her, but he was stopped when she grabbed his arm and placed her palms against his cheeks. A bliss of relief flourished inside of her when she finally felt his warm and soft skin. Her palms were carved over his sharp jaw. Feeling his stubble against her skin, she tiptoed to reach his lips, which yearned for hers.
He wasted no time responding to her passionate kiss. Her hands couldn’t get off his face while his hands curled along her waist. Their lips crashed, corresponding to one another’s longing.
She let go first. It was one of the hardest things she had ever done, but she knew she had to. “You know that I love you.. But Steve, you’ve put me through so much.” She tightened her shut eyes before leaving a mark on his forehead.
He was speechless and couldn’t do anything but accept everything she was generous enough to give him. Slowly, she untangled his arms around her waist and let go of him.
“If you want me back… I’ll know.”
She said that before running upstairs and leaving him by himself. He stood there, staring down at the floor, processing what had happened. What he had done and what it did to her.
“Steve, did you get to talk to her?” Her mother’s voice pulled him out of his spiraling. He looked at the path she took before she left and nodded at the lady.
“Yes, ma’am. She went to her room.”
“Oh, okay. I’m glad you finally talked to each other before she leaves.” He looked puzzled.
“Before she leaves?”
“Oh, yes. Did she not tell you? She’s going to be relocated at work.”
“No, she didn’t tell me..”
“She’s leaving early tomorrow. You know where the airport is if you want to catch her, son.” He nodded and politely smiled.
“Thank you, ma’am.”
The whole night, the same as every other night, she thought of him. Why was it that easy for him to give her space? Well.. He gave her a long ass space for months, how hard could it be for him? Are they really over? Was it truly a mission? Did she overreact? How come he didn’t find time to text or message her? She believed him when he said that he was in Sokovia, it was all over the news. But still. If he’s really sorry, then he’ll do something. Right?
She sighed and gave up. She forced herself to think of nothing and go into slumber as she had to get ready for her flight.
Morning rose, and she did and had everything she needed before heading downstairs for breakfast.
“Good morning.” Her father at the dining table greeted her.
“Good morning. Are you ready, dad? We need to leave after breakfast.”
“Of course.” She nodded and started eating as planned.
The morning was normal. Normal, quiet, yet unlively. There was something missing. She knew too well what that was. “I heard you had visitors last night.” Her dad’s voice brought her back to her senses just in time before she started to spiral and possibly cry.
“Yes.”
“Did you get to talk to him?” Him. He who shall not be named.
“Yes, dad.”
“And what did he say?”
“That.. It was for a mission. An undercover.” She started playing with her food as the thought of last night stole her appetite.
“Well? Then why do you look like that? You don’t believe him?” His father’s tone was firm. Commanding. She shook her head in response. “It is the Captain of America you’re dating, isn’t that right, young lady?”
She sighed. “Yes.. dad.”
“You must know what you had gotten yourself into then.” She frowned and nodded. She leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms, she just couldn’t wait for her dad to get to his point.
“Then what is the problem? Did he not tell you he’s sorry?”
“He did. He said he was sorry.” She was starting to feel annoyed.
“You think he’s lying?”
She stayed silent as she frowned at nothing.
“Men lie all the time, that’s proven right all the time, I know. But Steve Rogers.. is not like any other man I’ve met, daughter. He’s a soldier. He wasn’t physically qualified, but his spirit was. Loyal, sincere, and brave. Don’t you remember that? Those were your exact words defending your hundred-year-old boyfriend to me. ”
She scoffed and almost smiled at his dad’s face. He was scowling. “I remember, dad. It was the speech that  convinced you to let me date him. ”
“The question is, will it work on you as well? I’ve never seen you happier when you were with him, sweetheart.”
She smiled at his dad’s remark. “I don’t need convincing, dad. I just need some wooing.” His dad rolled his eyes at her, and it was the funniest thing she’s seen this morning, making her chuckle.
“Honey, don’t you have a flight to fly to?” Her mom popped out of the garden in her gardening attire.
“Yes, mom. Just in time. Let’s go, Dad.” After bidding her goodbye to her mom, her dad drove her to the airport and said goodbye there.
“Take care, Dad.” She waved at him and watched as his car drove away. She entered the building and went through security. The busy ambiance of the place kept her mind busy from things she had to worry about.
She was an hour early before her flight, and so she sat on the chair intended for standby passengers to use. There, she started wondering. She still hadn’t heard from him. He said he would give her some space. What does that mean? Is it really.. Is it over now?
She was biting her nails as she watched the crowd walk and attend their businesses over and over until the microphone announced her flight.
She dragged her suitcase to the line of people she will share the plane with. In the back of her mind, she was still hoping. She always does. Just another glimpse of him would be enough. She told herself.
Until her name was called, she thought it was her turn. She thought the flight attendant called her name,  but it came from far away. From the back. She looked back and saw that the voice that was calling to her was stealing people’s attention. She tried to find out who was calling her. And there she saw a tall, masculine blond man running to her.
“Steve?” She was about to ask herself, but the woman beside her did it first.
“Isn’t that Captain America?” And so all the people in the airport murmured.
“Why is he here?”
“Oh my god! Are we safe?!”
The whole place went into silence once he reached her. He said her name. “I need you to listen to me, please.”
“What are you doing here? How did you know..?”
“I’m here to let you know I want you back.”
She was confused by all the commotion from the back, but she was still focused on the man pleading in front of her. “It was for an undercover, my love. I would never do something like that to you. Please believe me.”
“Always. Of course.” She sighed in disbelief. She had heard this reason a thousand times.
“I know it’s hard to hear it from me. I know I understand. So, I thought if you heard it from someone else, you’d give me another chance.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Hey..” A feminine voice came from behind him. When he walked aside, Natasha Romanoff showed up. “I know it looked bad, and you must’ve felt awful. But it’s true, it was for a mission, and we didn’t expect you to be there. It was all a misunderstanding. I hope you give him another chance.”
“Uh, hi. I’m Clint Barton. Captain’s co-wor… friend.” Another one popped up from behind Natasha and reached for her hand to shake. She took it, despite being bewildered. “I was with them that night. I would also testify that it was what happened. ”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Bruce Banner. I wasn’t involved in the operation, but I was aware of the plan. I’m also here to testify.” Another confused handshake happened before another tall blond man showed up behind him. How many people did he bring?
“Good day, lady of Rogers; I am Thor Odinson of Asgard. I am here to give my word that Rogers is an honest and sincere man. I wasn’t also involved in the said mission but eventually informed, and I do not believe Steve would be able to do that to you.” He smiled and bowed at her, and she nodded confusedly.
“Hey, hi. I’m Tony..” He reached for her hands and quickly shook them. “I heard what happened, and he looked pretty bad, I’m not gonna lie. But Cap’s the most honest person you’ll ever meet. You’re a good influence on him, he’s not cranky when he is with you.” They chuckled at him, and she almost did, except she was still trying to take in everything. “We all know how sorry he is, so we wish you find it in you to forgive him.”
And he stepped back. They lined up on her right, and she was waiting to see if they were all done or if there was another one.  And a tall, dark man walked in with a patch on his other eye. He was a serious man. “Apologies for interrupting your flight,” he said her name, and she just watched him, waiting for what he had to say. “I’m Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I was the one in charge of the mission that went badly for the two of you. Here is the confidential file about the mission, there was nothing but professionalism that night. We hope you understand.”
A huge black folder was handed to her. When she took it, it was heavy. She opened it, and it was a tablet containing tons of information about the same stranger lady she saw that night. And everything else that answered why they needed to conduct the mission that caused a quarrel between her and her man.
A slight crease was carved on Nick’s forehead as he watched Steve’s significant other handle the tablet expertly. He took note of it in the back of his mind, and ignored it for now when she handed back the tablet.
“I.. Steve? I.. I know, I believe you that it was for work.. But did no appearance for 3 months come along with it?”
“The Avengers went through a lot at that time, and it’s my fault. Aside from them not being able to contact any relatives, I prohibited it for their own sake and yours. Considering that the main opponent’s strength was the internet.” Fury jumped in to explain to her, and she nodded understandingly.
“It’s still not a valid reason to leave you like that, I know. You were confused, betrayed, and hurt. I should’ve done better. I could’ve found ways. I’m so sorry. Will you forgive me? I love you. I can’t afford to lose you.” She was once again being lured by his sky-blue eyes. And those three words were the only thing she needed to accept him again. She held his cheek and read the genuineness in his eyes.
She nodded eagerly, “I forgive you, love. I love you.” He smiled up to his eyes and did not only captivate her heart again but also her lips, which he longed to feel.
“Yes!” Thor yelled with a wide grin, starting the applause of the crowd. Natasha smiled at the couple reuniting, and so did the others.
“Whoop— Okay, job well done, I guess,”  Tony commented on the side.
The airport interrupted the commotion with her flight’s announcement. When their kiss ended, they stared at each other while their foreheads touched. “What about my flight?” She asked him.
“Do you mind me joining you?” She gasped at him. “Stark got us first-class seats.”
“Oh, really? That’s so sweet.” She looked at the six people who bothered to come to her just to convince her. “Thank you. Thank you all for coming just to help Steve. I appreciate it. I can’t believe he had the Avengers come here just to say sorry.”
“We’re not paid for this, so it’s good to know that we convinced you,” Tony replied, making them chuckle. “You two better get going before you miss your flight.” They both nodded, said their goodbyes, and expressed gratitude.
As they sat on their first-class window seats, they couldn’t take their hands off of each other. They kept talking and catching up until everybody else on the plane fell asleep on their seats and the lights were dimmed.
“I missed you so much,” Steve whispered in her ear as he inhaled her sweet scent by the neck as she sat on his lap.
“I missed you more, love.” She murmured back as she snuggled in his chest and put his heart beat by her ear. It was the most comforting beat. The inhumane beat of his heart was a sign he was alive and well, which gives comfort to her.
“You know what? We should have a code name for you. So if a similar situation like this happens, you could still write to me.” He smiled as he brushed her hair softly with his fingers.
“Okay, I like that idea. Writing to you. What code name are you thinking of?”
She smiled and adjusted to kiss his lips.
“Trouble man.”
He chuckled and stole her lips for a passionate kiss as he let his hands roam. “Trouble man it is.”

Liking Jen for Jen
Jennifer Walters x Reader
When Jen clearly has a crush on you, her best friend encourages her to ask you out. When another coworker is talking to you, she’s afraid she’s waited too long to ask
Note: I’m back with more Jen! I just adore her. No spoilers once again. Enjoy!
Jennifer Walters Masterlist, Main Masterlist
“Jen? Jen? Jennifer? Earth to Jen!” Nikki tries to get Jen’s attention as she walks into her office.
“Oh my bad, sorry hey,” Jen says although her attention isn’t fully on her best friend.
“What’s your deal?” She asks her, but when her eyes follow Jen’s she sees the culprit. “You know maybe if you just asked her out then you wouldn’t get so distracted by her talking to everyone else,” Nikki says.
“What? Who?” Jen tries to play dumb.
“Don’t be silly with me, Jen. I know you like her, so why not ask her out?”
“Oh, I don’t know there’s a million reasons,” Jen says with a sigh. “I’m just- I’m not going to ask her out. Can we drop it?”
“Okay, fine. But I think you should ask her,” Nikki says before she changes the subject to what she had come into her office for.
Today is one of the partner’s birthdays and everyone goes out for happy hour. You sit at the bar not really that interested in the celebrations.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Your coworker, Pug, asks as he sits next to you.
“Thinking about ordering another drink,” you reply. He laughs and asks the bartender for another round for you. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” he says. “So, hey y/n I was kind of wondering if you’d like to go out sometime? Like on a date?”
You’re stunned, honestly. You didn’t think he thought of you that way.
“Oh, I um- I’m not really looking to date right now. It’s just- yeah,” you explain.
“No worries,” Pug says.
Just then another coworker joins you at the bar and the conversation is over. You thank goodness for Mallory’s timing. Pug excuses himself to go play darts.
“So, that was interesting,” Mallory says.
“Right? I didn’t expect that to happen.”
“Me either. If anyone was going to ask you out, I expected it to be Walters,” she says.
You choke on your drink.
“Jen?” She nods. “You think Jen likes me?”
“You don’t?”
“Well, I mean I guess I just kind of didn’t think she wasn’t straight and/or into me,” you say.
“It seems to me like she likes you and remember that I know everything,” Mallory says before she takes her drink back to her booth.
You sit there a little dumbstruck at the idea of Jen being into you. Of course you’re into her. She’s gorgeous, talented, and an absolutely brilliant woman.
What you didn’t know is that Jen was sitting at a close by table with Nikki during all of this. She heard Pug ask you out and she got an undeniable pang of jealously in her gut.
“Go get her, Jen,” Nikki says.
“But what if she doesn’t like me?”
“Jen, if you can just conjure up the confidence of one man and ask her out then you’d know. You gotta do this for you. You can do this,” her best friend hypes her up.
“Okay, yeah. Okay. It’s just she said she wasn’t dating right now and-“
“Jen!”
“Okay, I’m going,” she says as she stands up from the table.
She walks up to the bar and nervously sits next to you.
“Hey y/n,” she says.
“Oh, hey Jen. It’s good to see you as Jen,” you say with a laugh.
“Ah yes, technically it’s a work event, but I was tired of hulking out,” Jen says.
“I like this look best,” you say, your eyes don’t miss the way Jen’s cheeks flush a light pink.
“Thank you. Um- can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” you say.
“Would you maybe want to go out to dinner?” Jen asks you.
“Like a date?”
“Yeah, if that’s what you’d like to do. No pressure of course and l’ll just go and leave you alone and I’m sorry I haven’t asked a woman out before and-“
“Jen, hey it’s okay,” you ease her worries with your hand over hers on the bar top. She smiles softly at you and you feel a warmth in your chest. “Yes, I’d like to go on a date with you Jen.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. Thank you for asking me,” you say.
“Thank you for giving me a chance,” she says.
Your hand is still over hers and you run your thumb over the back of her hand. The celebrations are almost over and you’ll be heading home soon.
So, you move closer to Jen and drop a soft kiss to her cheek.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” You ask her.
“Tomorrow works, yeah,” Jen says. “I can’t wait.”
“Me either, Jen,” you say before you leave the bar.
Jen sits there smiling. She finally found someone who likes her for Jen and not just for She-Hulk. And she’s got a great feeling about you.

If Only
Pairing: Jennifer Walters/fem!Reader
Category: slight angst with a happy, fluffy ending
Words: 2,336
Warnings: talk of both reader and Jen’s insecurities, sort of boss/employee relations
Requested: No. I’m so sorry to those of you who do have requests in my inbox. I’ve had so little inspiration to write lately until this randomly hit me.
Summary: Jennifer’s assistant is doing everything she can to keep her very inappropriate crush on her boss under wraps. But she just can’t keep her mouth shut when Jen shows how much the constant attention she’s receiving as She-Hulk rather than Jen is getting to her. Set after episode 5.
A/N’s: The most unrealistic part of this show about superhumans is that supposedly no one wants Jennifer as herself rather than as She-Hulk.

Jennifer Walters is a good boss. A great one even. The best boss you’ve ever had, as a matter of fact. Which really should be a good thing. And it would be if she wasn’t also the sweetest, cutest, and just all around most infatuating woman you had ever had the pleasure of knowing. But she was.
Which has left you with a bit of a dilemma. Because you can’t date your boss. Hell, you shouldn’t even be thinking about her like this at all. You shouldn’t be thinking about how adorable she is in the morning when she first gets into the office and can barely keep her eyes open until she drinks the coffee you always bring her. You shouldn’t be wondering about what else goes through her head while she’s reading over the case briefs you’ve printed for her. And you definitely shouldn’t be daydreaming about how nice it would be to hold her hands, the same hands you can’t pull your eyes away from now as she packs up her briefcase for the night. It’s a wildly inappropriate thing for you to imagine with any coworker much less your actual employer! And most definitely grounds for her to fire you if she were ever to find out.
But you just can’t help yourself. Especially not now, while she’s standing in her true ‘just Jennifer’ form rather than towering over you as ‘She-Hulk’. Moments like these were becoming more commonplace. Moments spent alone, just the two of you in her office after most of the building had already gone home. Jen spent most of her time with you as her green alter ego, whether that be in court or during any other regular business hours in which she was representing the firm rather than herself. She didn’t complain to you about it, but you could tell sometimes that the constant pressure to be someone larger than life could get to her in certain moments. And while you try not to think too much about it, the fact that she feels comfortable enough around you to trust you with her more vulnerable side, it makes your heart flutter and your palms sweat.
“-need to formally file that appeal by the end of the week or we’ll be screwed. Can you be in a few minutes early tomorrow so we can get that started before we need to be in court?” Jennifer’s honey sweet voice breaks through your thoughts just a moment too late.
You do your best to hide the way you’ve been zoned out with a measured nod and a quick hum in agreement even though you aren’t entirely sure what appeal she had been talking about. That’s a problem for tomorrow.
“Ugh. Thank you so much. I hate to ask. You’re already working way longer hours than most of the other assistants in the office. I promise you that we’ll be all settled into things here soon and then we’ll be able to work less overtime. I feel terrible about having to get in the way of whatever you’d rather be doing outside of this damn office,” You force yourself to focus on restacking the mess of paperwork sitting on the desk next to you rather than allow yourself to get sucked into the way Jen’s eyes focus on you as she talks.
Though maybe you hyperfocus too hard because you definitely aren’t thinking about the words that come out of your mouth next, “It’s ok. Honestly, my friends are all either busy with their own jobs or relationships and I haven’t been very into the dating scene lately. No one’s really caught my attention as of late. Well-” you barely catch yourself before taking what was already becoming far too personal of a conversation and moving it into dangerous territory. What are you doing? You can’t be saying any of this! Think! Think! Fix this before she gets uncomfortable. What was almost ‘Well other than you.’ becomes, “Well, other than this girl I know through a friend of mine. But, I don't think I’m her type,” The half truth you tell is probably still pushing it a bit, but at least you hadn’t admitted your schoolgirl crush on Jennifer to Jennifer.
You force yourself to look up from the now perfectly symmetrical stack of papers you’ve been fiddling with to where Jen stands directly on the opposite side of the large desk from you. Instead of finding a judgmental glare pointed at you as you’d feared, you see that she’s no longer looking at you. Jen’s head is turned slightly, staring over your shoulder towards the large windows that make up the back wall. Her warm, hazel eyes are unfocused, clouded over with something you struggle to place.
A moment passes in silence between the two of you before her eyes meet yours once more and she speaks, “I can understand that,” her tone is soft, almost whispered as she continues with a brief chuckle, “I haven’t had much luck in that field as of late either. I don’t think online dating is meant for someone who the world already knows so much about. There’s so many…expectations. Then again, they’re all about She-Hulk. Not Jen.”
Something in the way she says her own name, with a touch of contempt almost, gives the final clue for you to recognize what you had been seeing in her eyes just moments ago. Insecurity. Self doubt. Loathing even. They were all feelings you know well. But ones you can’t handle seeing come from the striking woman standing across from you.
You’ve only been working for Jen for a few short months, but the long hours spent together have allowed you to become incredibly familiar with her. You know her coffee order by heart, could pick her handwriting out of a lineup, and had even met much of her family after dropping some critical documents off at her house when she’d forgotten them at the office. You've seen her sharp mind at work a hundred times but still don’t find yourself getting bored while watching her practice her opening or closing arguments. Her nervous rambling makes you smile and the way her natural curls frizz up after a long day of mussing with them causes your heart to flutter. And that idea that Jen doesn’t see all of this beauty in herself the way you do is heart wrenching. You just can’t stand for it.
“Look, Jennifer, this is probably completely out of bounds for me to say and I know I should just keep my mouth shut but I can’t. So I’m sorry, but you deserve the world. You are smarter than pretty much anyone I have ever known but somehow manage to never make those around you feel dumb or less than. And you work harder than every lawyer on this floor combined. Not for the accolades or the attention but because you genuinely, truly care about making a difference. You’re a good person with a huge heart,” you should stop there. You should really, really stop there but you just can’t. Now that the feelings you’ve been holding back for weeks have started to come out, you just can’t stop the rest. So you continue to express every compliment you’ve thought of about Jen since meeting her, each becoming more definite in tone as you go on, “And my god, Jen! You are so damn cute and funny and sweet while still managing to be hot and intimidating in the best possible way. I’ve been going mad sitting in this office with you every day and not being able to tell you how much I care about you and how I just want you happy no matter what form you are in. I hear you and Nikki talk about these shitty dates you’re going on and it kills me! Because these people you’re seeing are completely ignorant to just how amazing you are and how lucky they are just to sit across from you. And I know I’m ranting but I just can’t sit here and not say anything while you feel anything less than wonderful about yourself. I just want you to see yourself the way I do. To love yourself the way I do.”
You’re breathing hard when you finally finish your outburst. The pump, pump, pump of your heart against your ribcage is nearly painful but only intensifies as what all you’ve just said truly sets in. I’m so fired.
“Y/N I…I-” You can’t even look at Jennifer as she stutters over just a few words, seemingly unable to find any real response to what you’ve just told her.
Oh, god. What have I done? “I’m so sorry. That was completely inappropriate. I’m just gonna go,” You grab your work bag off of the chair next to you and scramble out of the room without looking back.
Please be at work a few minutes early today so that we can talk. - Jen
Jen’s text is the first thing you see after waking up from a fitful night of broken up sleep. The words stare back at you as you run through options of how to move forward in your head. You could call in sick. You could go in early and just pretend as if nothing has happened and ask her about the appeal that needs filing so as to avoid the subject of last night. You could change names and move out of the country so that you never have to risk running into Jennifer ever again.
No. You have to be a big girl about this. You’re an adult and adults own up to their actions and handle the consequences. I wish I was a child again.
So instead of burrowing back under your comforter like you want to, you get up and put the bare minimum into getting ready for the day and at least try to look professional. The subway ride to the office feels like it goes by faster than ever before, giving you little opportunity to ready yourself for walking into Jennifer’s office. It takes you a full minute to sike yourself up before you can finally force yourself to knock on her door.
“Come in,” Even on a morning like this, her voice still sounds like music to your ears. But it doesn’t make pushing open the door and stepping through it any easier.
The roomy office is full of early morning sunlight and just slightly cold. Jennifer is still in her human form when you walk through the door, which surprises you. She normally comes in in her Hulk form and stays that way until the very end of the day. Though you guess that switching between the two forms is a little easier now with her new adaptable suits. Don’t think about how good they look on her.
“Hi,” Jen is the first to speak as you near her desk but you still can’t bring yourself to meet her eyes.
“Hi,” Your reply is barely audible and filled with shame.
“Will you sit down? Please?”
You comply and make yourself as small as you can in the comfy chair in front of her desk. Your hand taps nervously on your knee as you force yourself to finally look at the woman in front of you. Her expression surprises you. It’s not one of scorn as you’d expected. Instead it’s soft. Nervous even. Her deep hazel eyes hold yours as the two of you look at each other for a moment.
“I talked to Pug this morning when I got in. We discussed having you work for him, instead of me,” Your heart breaks at the statement. Pug’s a nice guy, but he’s not Jen. You drop your head and feel your face heat up as you process what’s just been said. Jen doesn’t want to work with you anymore. Of course she doesn’t. What you said last night had been wildly unprofessional and more likely than not had made her uncomfortable. It makes sense that she wouldn’t want to be around you anymore.
“I-I understand. But Jen, I just want to say that I’m so, so sorry. What I said was incredibly inappropriate and I-”
“No!” Jennifer cuts off your apology, “Well, technically yes. It was inappropriate I guess. But, I’m not mad. I’m thrilled actually! I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind since your first week on the job. I was just never gonna act on anything because I’m your boss and I didn’t want you to feel pressured.”
The force with which you snap your head up to look at her is almost painful. Jen’s cheeks are flushed a soft pink, but you can see a look of hopefulness hiding behind the nerves.
“You’ve been thinking about me? Like the same way I have about you?” This has to be a dream. If you weren’t so focused on her, you might just pinch yourself.
Jennifer’s smile grows at your question. She nods as she answers, “Yes. That’s why I’m transferring you over to work for Pug. Because I really, really want to take you out on a date. But I want it to be above board,” You would laugh at how incredibly on brand that is for Jen if you weren’t so close to crying happy tears.
Her eyes search yours for a response. Before she can find one though, you are leaping out of your chair and racing your way around to her side of the desk to throw your arms around her small frame. You bury your face in her shoulder, unbothered by the way her curls tickle your nose and cheeks. A half sob, half laugh leaves you as you whisper, “I can’t believe it took us this long to figure this out.”
Jen’s arms circle back around you as she laughs at your remark, “I'm just glad we figured it out at all. This is what I’ve been dreaming of.”

okay but just like… imagine, being Jen’s younger sister, like fresh out of college, and meeting Matt.
like, okay, you’re twenty one, and Jen introduces Matt to you at a party of hers with all of her colleagues. and you’re this like- super cute, super young girl, and Matt’s instincts go wild, ‘cause you smell like flowers and honey and your heartbeat immediately fastens when he speaks to you.
and let’s say, for the sake of this story, that things between him and Jen didn’t work out, and Jen sees the sparkle between the two of you, so plays matchmaker, until one day at another party the two of you find yourselves alone talking all night.
and Matt just can’t help it, his mind goes overdrive everything you move your hair (because he can sense when you move it, of course), and your perfume sends a splash of sweetness to his nostrils.
so he has to say it.
“honey and flowers, right?”
“hm?”
“your perfume.”
“oh- oh yes, how did you know?”
he simply chuckles.
and he spends his days crushing on you, until one day when you’re talking to Jen and she keeps complaining about her inexistent relationships, until you tell her:
“come on Jen, Matt likes you.”
and she looks at you with her jaw in the floor.
“uh… no he doesn’t.”
“he so does.”
“no you idiot, he likes you.”
“what?”
“what?”
so you wait for Jen to arrange another party and this time, you go up to him and ask him the important questions.
“do you like me?”
“yes.”
“wait-” now your mind goes overdrive “you said yes?!”
and he takes you by the waist, presses your body softly with his, and gives you the most passionate, yet awaiting kiss you’ve ever had.
“tastes like honey and flowers to me sweetheart.”
hi, i’m back :)
