Three generations.

That's how long it's been since this kingdom was conquered. In a time of great upset, the First Queen led a rebellion against reviled rulers and oppressive laws. Kaine Breckem (he/him) - The blacksmith's former apprentice, who your father took in and hired at the tavern a few years ago. A kind, but mischievous individual, Kaine cares about others a great deal, but that doesn't stop him from being full of snark. Kaine can be your closest childhood friend, or someone you unfortunately work with; the choice is yours to make. Regardless, he's rather protective of you... but who will protect him when he needs it?

Vermillion "Millie" Lousat (she/her) - A descendant of a noble family, Millie has extensive education and combat training... and is also quite the social butterfly. Leon is not easy to get close to because of the way he acts, but maybe the prickly prince has a softer side underneath the thorns?

Milo Lance (they/them) - The commander of the Order of Light, and they absolutely live up to the position. Practically raised in Gilramore's guard barracks, Milo's personality tends to come across as stiff and business-like, but in actuality they simply enjoy being effective and to the point. A truly gentle soul in a warrior's suit of armor, if you can persuade them to let down their guard.

Clementene Fairwreight (she/her) - Celementene is a talented soul mage for the Order, but she is a researcher at her heart; field work isn't particularly for her. A slightly nervous disposition and bad eyesight really only add to her penchant to stay within Gilramore's white stone walls. Her surprisingly daring experiments with magic captivate most of her attention, but maybe she'll find something in you that can capture her focus as well?

Demon Brothers: General Kink Headcanons

Belphegor's pretty versatile and enjoys both sub/dom roles but he's a pillow prince. Either way MC has to do most of the work. Very bratty when subbing and very mean when domming, Belphie likes power play and some of his favorite kinks are a little extreme, like knifeplay. He's not super into giving in general and things like oral don't do much for him. He gets off on giving orders and/or defying orders. This doesn't mean he can't enjoy softer kinds of intimacy like sleepy morning sex or mutual masturbation. He actually likes the idea of lowkey nonsexual domming where MC occasionally defers to his judgment or asks him for things outside of the bedroom, nothing too obvious, but he loves being in control. Even still he does have a weakness for petplay and will sub as a kitten, but it's quite rare and usually at MC's request. He likes being an authority and protector. This was a promo photo. The combat boots, the camo pants, the asymmetrical piercings, the camo paint and absolute feral energy in this photo.

There's a reason why she had so much hype before we even knew her personality. She exudes absolute girlboss energy and leaks with potential.

Her voice is incredible

Something about her dialect tickles my brain. Just listen to her speak especially in S2 E3 and you'll see what I mean. Her VA does an incredible job.

She's incredibly compassionate believe it or not

Her boot episode in S1 starts with her getting breakfast in the woods. She could have made food for just herself but took the time to find and cook food for the rest of her team.

S2 E2 consists of her helping her struggling teammates several times. Zee when he's taken too many hits and Damien after going through the 4 point tube.

You may think she does it out of necessity, but anybody could have gone and saved Damien, Priya especially. She's quick to inform them he needs medical attention.

She even admits that despite winning she doesn't approve of what Millie did. This is coming from the same girl that kicked a teammate overboard in the season prior. She genuinely cares about her team.

She's not very fond of Ripper, yet when she accidentally punches him in the face, she is quick to help him up and fix his broken nose. Her voice is incredibly soft as she helps him as well.

The way she handles Ripper's initial confession really sticks out to me. She doesn't lash out or mock him for having a crush, she calmly admits to being uncomfortable and gently tells him she doesn't feels the same.

She even apologizes. There's no need to apologize for not returning romantic feelings for someone. They're not entitled to your love. But she apologizes anyways despite Ripper never asking for one, because she knows that she hurt him and wanted to reject him as nicely and possible.

She recognizes Rippers development and sees how he's willing to better himself for her. He took the time to learn one of her hobbies for her and she realizes and truly appreciates that. She rewards his efforts by kissing him.

She loves Ripper for who he is despite his imperfections. She finds his stupidity to be attractive, and he's a bit insecure when it comes to impressing her, so she's quick to reassure him that she does in fact love him after insulting him and knocking him off their canoe.

There's these little blink and you'll miss it moments in the finale where when Ripper is getting hurt she's not too pleased and is there to comfort him.

Her confidence is unmatched

From the very beginning she's very sure of herself and her abilities. Her first line is her boasting about her survival abilities and how she's not afraid and how people should fear her instead.

She doesn't doubt her decisions. She kicks Ripper overboard in S1 and doesn't ever regret it, not even after she's been voted off because of it.

In S2 E3 she does a flip over a stump just because she can. Her only solo confessional is her bragging about how she was born for this challenge. She's fully confident in her skills and for good reason.

S2 E4 has a lot of these moments where she's so sure of herself not as a survivalist but also as a person. She was voted "most likely to make you regret stuff" in survival camp. She's not ashamed of that fact, she sounds almost proud.

When her love of poetry is revealed, she's not embarrassed, she sounds happy to be able to reveal that fact about herself. She knows that it's an interest not expected of someone like her, and she doesn't care.

She kisses a man on live TV despite being incredibly embarrassed and near uncomfortable with being put on the spot.

She doesn't change herself for Ripper. She is so sure of herself and she knows Ripper loves her for who she is. She's not embarrassed to show her love for him, and she's not afraid to still be her authentic self.

She takes bullshit from no one

When she stops Ripper from wasting his time and energy in the beginning, he lashes out. How does she respond? She growls at him. She's not gonna let some guy yell at her when she's trying to help.

Ripper refuses to have her lead the team despite majority ruling for her to be captain, so what does she do? She kicks him overboard for mutiny and refusing to cooperate.

Ripper taunts her for getting booted by waving his marshmallow in her face. She's already pissed, so she bites his hand and eats his own marshmallow straight from his hand. What a queen.

Ripper calls her and her team nerds in S2 E2 and she immediately snaps at him and intimidates him for his disrespect.

S2 E3 is when she and Ripper get stuck butt to butt, and it does slow her down a lot, but she ends up being in the pack getting carried by Caleb regardless. She's not really responsible for her teams loss. So when Chef puts her on the list of people on the chopping block, she immediately shuts him down because of how stupid that is.

Her split second Yuri moment with Emma consists of her intimidating her not to mess up the challenge. Emma does mess up, Axel falls, and Axel votes her off.

Her team loses for the 3rd time in a row by E5 and of course Chris relishes in their failures and rubs it in their faces. Axel is a blunt and honest person, but here she resorts to sarcasm because that's how done she is with his shit.

She's literally about to be eaten by a shark and she just turns and yells at it to back off, icon.

Incoherent, messy and out of order first spoilery thoughts on TUA season 3, let’s go!

Viktor’s transition was incorporated rather nicely in the show and it led to some really wholesome sibling moments that I will cherish forever

the actor playing Reggie is a delight and while the character is extremely unlikable, I love seeing him on screen. it really is a testament to how good the TUA casting is

I expected to dislike the whole Stan thing, but I actually found myself enjoying it? I think the humor and delivery of some of the lines was amazing and made it work even if I am not a huge fan of what became of Diego in the last 2 seasons

Lila and Five’s dynamic absolutely SLAYS! idk, they are such a pleasure to watch, all this easy banter and everything, I just find their whole chemistry very satisfying and it shows both in the show and in the interviews that the actors truly get these characters, what they’ve been through and how it affected this relationship in particular. honestly, some amazing performances from both of them

overall, I feel like the performances in general were what made this season actually good to watch. I have a lot of complaints about some of the lines, subplots and plot points in general, but I can’t deny that I simply love these characters and the way they are portrayed by the actors and even though I can’t say I’m happy with everything that happened, it was still a lot of fun to watch. again, casting of this show is absolutely unmatched!

I really wish some inconsistencies in Allison’s reasoning were fixed and I still don’t know how to feel about THAT scene with Luther... I mostly can’t believe that it not only made it into the season, but - more importantly - that it isn’t addressed later on... at all. it’s one thing to portray dysfunctional and grieving characters doing shitty and questionable things, it’s another to frame it... well, the way they did it this season. 

that said, I enjoyed Allison’s arc a lot and Emmy Raver-Lampman is an amazing actress who was horribly underutilized until now, so I’m happy to see her have more defined role this season.

there’s something really interesting about the theme of losing one’s family in a show that’s so focused on family in general. I mean, usually when you grow up you begin making your own family unit with your spouse and children, so it’s interesting to see how Allison is torn between her obligation to her siblings, the family she didn’t choose, and the family she created as an adult. I know that we are more inclined to root for her relationship with other Umbrellas because they are the focus of the show, but it does make absolute sense for her to try to bring back the family she made for herself

I liked Klaus so much more this season and his scenes, especially those with other siblings, were really great! him bonding with Five was everything I wanted and didn’t even know. and it’s nice to finally tap into his issues with his powers instead of having him escape from them

Five being the Commission founder... I said in another post that I totally saw him being tied to the Commission’s existence in a more meaningful way coming because of how his powers operate in the same way the briefcases do, but I did not see THAT coming

on one hand, Sloane and Luther are a great example of insta love and everything wrong with it. on the other, though, it gave us some fun subplots and dynamics and if there’s one character that deserved to find peace and normalcy - it was Luther. I honestly need more time to form an opinion on it.

Allison and Viktor’s fight in episode 7 was amazing, the tension was really palatable and dang, THIS is how you write characters fighting! the actual VENOM in Allison’s voice, just... such a great scene, I was so impressed with the acting 

the amount of sudden deaths and betrayals was absolutely INSANE, the reviewers did not lie about that, holy shit

that moment when Five steps on his star, in the middle of the circle, connecting all of them? I don’t know what is it about that scene, but holy fuck, CHILLS

Wally, Bart and Barry.

I think we forget sometimes that the vast majority of the crazy feats of godlike powers we see from speedsters are coming from these three. Wally, Bart and Barry have insane connections to the speedforce and their skill level is unmatched. What these three can do is by no means normal or average. They are op as fuck.

You have to remember that even... let's say Max Mercury is nowhere even remotely near their skill level. And we're talking about Max Mercury. The guy who knows more about the speedforce than anyone else and trained for years to master it. But Max (although he was faster than Bart when Bart was a child) isn't on the same playing field as Wally, Bart and Barry. Max couldn't enter the speedforce without Bart's assistance, Max couldn't leave the speedforce without Barry and Wally's assistance, Max can't time travel to a destination of his own choice, Max can't speed steal or fully pause time, ect ect. Max is one of the most skilled, most knowledgeable, most trained and most respected speedsters of all time. Max is the cream of the crop. You won't find another speedster better than Max. He's a shining example of what's humanely possible for speedsters to achieve.

But Wally, Bart and Barry aren't humanely possible. Those three are insane.

Wally AT HIS SLOWEST was still faster than every single goddamn speedster he came across, including Jay, Johnny, Jesse, the Blue Trinity, the Red Trinity, ect. HE JUST WASN'T FASTER THAN BARRY OR EOBARD SO HE THOUGHT HE WAS THE WORST. Because Wally is fucking insane. He's an insane human being. Anyway, Wally at his slowest is the typical representation of an average speedster. That's how they typically are.

You've dedicated over 3 years to the Academy, focusing your expertise on the biological sciences housed in the east wing. Although your background is in Pharmacy, you've embraced herbology to broaden your knowledge. Not only have you delved into the study of plants and their medicinal applications, but you've also become the driving force behind the flourishing herbology clinic.

As time has passed, your natural remedies have gained remarkable popularity, causing your clinic's demand to outgrow its initial, confined space. Hermendinger, your unwavering supporter in establishing the herbology clinic, keenly observed this expansion. Together with the council, he recognized your significant contributions, evident in the substantial revenue you've generated for the academy, second only to the pharmacy in the west wing of the academy.

Recognising your potential and the need for more space, the decision was made to provide you with a considerably larger area to operate your clinic. This shift to the north wing signifies the Academy's investment in your expertise, granting you the canvas to magnify your studies and elevate your herbology clinic to new heights.

You crossed paths with him –Viktor. He strode gracefully through the hall, his imposing form exuding confidence, his lush, chocolate hair swept back, framing his sharp features. His presence was unmatched, the rhythmic click of his cane trailing behind him as he remained engrossed in the papers held tightly in his grip. Click, click, click. In that fleeting moment, he continued on, oblivious to your presence. With boxes in your hands, you carried on your journey, making your way towards the glass door that lay ahead -your gateway to a new clinic and research lab, ushering in a fresh chapter in your life.

Unveiling the array of equipment -flasks, beakers, pipettes, and burettes, you meticulously unpacked within the confines of your lab. Your tools sprawled haphazardly across the surfaces, testament to the meticulous work that lay ahead before your grand opening. Days turned into a whirlwind of activity, just shy of a week's time spent sorting, organizing, and setting up both your plant study equipment and the natural remedies you intended to offer. The final touch awaited completion – the new sign, a masterpiece crafted by the skilled hands of the handyman. Amidst this transition, you had the privilege of meeting a multitude of new faces you hadn't encountered before. The wing you now called home specialized in engineering and experimental sciences, a vibrant tapestry of innovation and intellectual exploration. Among these new acquaintances was Jayce, who took it upon themselves to extend a warm welcome. It was Jayce who gave you more insight on Viktor, an introverted workaholic, reserved but with a kind and genuine heart.

Empowered by Jayce's insight, you mustered the courage to break the ice. As dusk settled in, and the lab doors were left ajar in anticipation of Jayce's return to close up, you seized the chance to observe Viktor. His absorption in his work was evident, his focus absolute as he remained oblivious to the world around him, including your discreet presence.

Over time, your late nights at the lab unveiled an intriguing pattern – the faint click of Viktor's walking stick at precisely 11 pm, marking his departure for the day. Today marked a turning point, the day you would take that leap and talk to him, setting in motion an unconventional relationship that would undoubtedly shape the chapters of your journey ahead.

As the clock struck 11 pm, you found yourself outside Viktor's lab, heart racing with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Tonight was the night you had decided to introduce yourself and hopefully initiate a connection with the enigmatic man who had piqued your curiosity.

Summoning your courage, you approached Viktor just as he was preparing to leave. "Hi there, I'm (y/n)," you began, a friendly smile on your face.

Viktor looked up, his initially guarded expression shifting into one of pleasant surprise. "Ah, nice to meet you, (y/n). I'm Viktor," he responded, extending a hand for a handshake.

"Likewise," you replied, relieved by his warm reception. "I've been working in the new herbology clinic and research lab down the hall."

Viktor's eyebrows raised slightly. "Oh, the herbology clinic? That's interesting. Quite a departure from the engineering and experimental sciences around here."

You nodded, encouraged by his interest. "Yes, I've been focusing on natural remedies and plant studies. It's been a great journey so far."

The mood shifted suddenly. "So, you're the one who's going to run the herbology clinic?" Viktor's tone had turned notably colder, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that took you aback.

"Yes, that's right," you responded cautiously, unsure of the shift in his demeanor. "I'm excited about the opportunity."

Viktor's expression tightened, and a sarcastic smirk crept onto his lips. "Of course you are. Running a clinic based on nature's wonders. Quite the departure from my realm of rigorous experimentation, isn't it?"

You felt a pang of hurt and confusion at his sudden change in attitude. "I believe there's value in both approaches," you tried to explain, but the words seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Viktor's cold gaze lingered for a moment longer before he abruptly turned, his tone dripping with condescension. "Well, I hope your herbs work wonders, (y/n). Enjoy your venture." And with that, he walked away, his steps echoing down the hallway.

Left standing there, you were stunned by the abrupt shift in his demeanor. What had caused this sudden change? The questions whirled in your mind as you watched him disappear around the corner, feeling a mixture of hurt, confusion, and determination to understand what had just transpired.

Would be fun to see a complete style overhaul for all of them for the new era, but since it's a continuation of the tour, I doubt we will.

I think this is a topic which actually is on a lot of minds throughout the fandom - especially since the chicken coat supposedly found his place for retirement in the Rammstein museum. As it should, it really did a good job and looks like it needs time to rest 👀

I agree with you that new outfits and styles for the whole band would be nice, but I think that either some parts of their wardrobe will be overhauled or maybe some outfits make a come back, which weren't used much or were worn a longer time ago (that's just wishful thinking on my part I guess). I'm especially thinking about the following (plus incudling some thoughts what would fit some of them concerning new outfits, at least imho):

Schneider's really comfortable looking, kind of yoga-suit from this year. He looks so good and relaxed in it, would be nice to see it again 🤍 Anything more lose-fitting or maybe some kind of cape would be really cool to see on him.

Paul's red snake suit (worn in 2019 I think), I really liked the color shade of it and the matching boots! In general would just wish for a little bit more color on him next year - maybe red or something completely different, just something else than the grey suit would be neat.

Regarding Olli, I just really wish for anything which makes him more visible on stage - please no more all black outfits and makeup 🙏 The stage make up from 2022 was absolutely amazing and so unique (thanks to @wizzardclown who reminded me of this!):

With Flake, I really want to see something other than a sparkly suit on him. I know it's his signature look currently and for the last few years, but this guy deserves a different look I think. Maybe something like the various medical scrubs he wore, I really dig this look:

But make it more refined and whimsical. (Funnily enough, even Willy Wonka popped into my head when I thought about potential Flake outfits, please don't ask me what's happening in my brain again)

I'm not the biggest fan of Till's outfits in general, but I liked the style and cut of the snake suit very much! But please, another material would be nice.

My favourite outift of Till will always be the one from Völkerball, it's really unmatched and fits him quite well.

Now, for Richard I have three very defined wishes.

1. The most realistic wish probably: I DEMAND that the vampire coat HAS to stay. This outfit keeps me alive, is the air that I breath and how he lives rent free in my head:

Idk what to call my AU, but here are some character descriptions and hcs.

General

When the main 4 were living together, Tord was 25, Edd was 25, Tom was 24, and Matt was 23.

Tord moved away when he turned 26

And then 3 years later he comes back, now 28.

And within a month, He is kicked out cause all of the events in The End.

The invasion happens a year later. When Tord had time to regroup.

Tord

Doesn’t show his face. He wears a very silly red armored mask.

5’8

He’s an inventor, engineer, scientist. This man is SO smart.

He knew about Tom’s Monster form for a while. Even before he moved out. He just didn’t say anything.

More focused on work than romance or even friendship.

Absolutely no restraint or hesitation on the battlefield.

Very much addicted to smoking. It’s to the point where he claims he can’t think straight if he doesn’t smoke.

Really wishes Edd and Tom were just random people instead of old friends, because now he feels guilt and remorse hurting them.

Paul is like an older brother figure to him.

Patryck is someone Tord met when he moved away originally. They totally met at the gym.

Paul

In this AU, Paul is actually a HUGE behind the scenes guy.

The Red Army was his idea originally.

In fact, he was going to be the leader.

But he met Tord, and saw CRAZY potential.

Convinced Tord to move away and train underneath him.

Listen, this man has like maxed out charisma. Convinced this little red guy to leave his entire life behind.

Tord is the face of the Red Army, and the one making most of the decisions. Paul is like his advisor.

Didn’t actually like Patryck at the start, but they work as fine coworkers. They can get along pretty well now.

Paul is 5’10

In his early 40s

Patryck

Patryck was a regular dude going to college and studying Supply Chain Management and Information Systems.

This guy is a businessman through and through.

Tord tried to convince him to join the Red Army, but Patryck insisted that he finish college first.

And he DID!! But during college, Patryck would train with Paul and Tord. He learned how to handle melee weapons, firearms, etc.

In his early 30s.

5’11

He really likes video games. Keeps a Nintendo Switch in his room at the Red Army base.

Really wants to grow out his hair, but Paul and Tord have instructed that it can’t be longer than shoulder length due to safety precautions.

Normally has his hair in a ponytail or man bun.

Tom

Okay so Tom’s monster form is like 20 feet tall.

While in his monster form, he isn’t really conscious.

He can kinda control when he turns into his full monster form, but can’t control when he turns back human.

Has this half human half monster form? But it varies. The more monster-like he is, the more foggy his brain gets.

REALLY bad suicidal ideation. He tries to remain strong and tough, but after about a year of being in a lab, it starts to eat away at him.

5’10

The most notable traits of his monster form are razor-sharp claws, teeth, a spiky tail, horns, and purple literally everywhere.

He isn’t allowed to talk to Edd. Isn’t even informed that Edd is captured.

Ever since experiments started, Tom’s craving proteins a lot more, and eats a lot more food in general, since he has to maintain his monster form for longer.

Once Tom starts cooperating, he gets little rewards! Like being able to talk to Matt, extra rest time, comfortable clothes, longer showers, even gets to go outside sometimes.

Edd

Oh boy.

When Edd abandoned Matt, he ran to start the Resistance.

Edd REALLY misses Tom. Regrets not staying around for him.

REALLY good with melee weapons.

Unmatched rage towards Tord. Towards any Red Army soldier. And now that Matt joined the Red Army, only proving Edd right, he now has unmatched rage for Matt.

If Edd and Tom were actually able to talk to each other, they would plan their escape.

Like actually HATES Tord. Hates him more than anything.

5’9

Really misses how things used to be.

Regrets ever letting Tord back in their home.

He feels like all of this is his fault, and that he could’ve prevented it.

Constantly replaying his past in his head, thinking about what he could’ve done differently.

Stays in an isolated cell after his capture. Only a handful of soldiers are allowed to interact with him.

Tord keeps him painfully updated on Resistance survivors that have joined the Red Army since his capture.

Matt

First of all, he’s 6’2.

He isn’t imprisoned for that long compared to Tom and Edd. He’s only in a cell for like 2ish months before being let out. This is mainly because he gave up fighting about a month in, but Tord needed to make sure Red Army actually had Matt’s loyalty, and it wasn’t just a lie.

Matt went from the cell straight into duties, becoming an official member of the Red Army.

Matt works as the supply manager?? Idk the right name for it, but he tracks food and water supply. He’s Patryck’s assistant too.

Matt takes on a few other duties here and there. He doesn’t do anything battlefield related.

Matt is also tasked with showing new recruits around the main base.

He has a room right next to Tord’s.

Sneaks away to bring Tom food or to just talk with him.

A Gentle Touch | Simon "Ghost" Riley x John "Soap" MacTavish | Daemon AU

John often wonders what must have happened in Simon’s life for his daemon to pick such a fierce form to settle on. Elanor is a beautiful creature, sleek and elegant and dark as the night. A stunning panther as large and dangerous as her human, able to go from quiet and disinterested to fighting with a surprising amount of power and speed in the blink of an eye. 

She tears through their enemies with brutal strength, yet still dances about the battlefield with unmatched grace and agility. John can never resist pausing to watch her work, just as taken with her as he is with her counterpart. He knows he must look like a lovestruck fool, but he can’t help it, far too enamoured.  

It was difficult to describe what it was between Simon and himself – he found all the potential labels lacking... something – boyfriend sounded too childish for the intensity of their relationship and partner felt too formal. They were just Ghost and Soap. Johnny and Simon. A package deal. Two halves of a single entity.  

Despite their closeness, Simon still had a certain weariness around their daemons. He would always get so visibly anxious whenever Gwen, Johnny’s daemon, got too close to him. He will allow the other daemon near his own, but will otherwise shy away from her.  

Elanor is always happy to receive attention from Gwen, laying passively while the honey badger eagerly grooms her fur. Price seems to think it’s absolutely hilarious whenever he sees the beastly daemon rumbling away happily while her face is covered with drool. In public, the two daemons are the picture of professionalism, but the moment they’re away from prying eyes? The poor feline is being smothered with affection.  

The first time Johnny asks if Simon would like to pet Gwen, the man had jerked back as if he’d been physically struck. “Why would I do that?” he asks, eyebrows furrowed in what must be a scowl behind his mask.  

It’s difficult to not take his clear reluctance to heart, stomach twisting uncomfortably. Perhaps he had misjudged how their relationship was progressing? They had slept together, spent evenings whispering sweet nothings to one another and discussed fanciful dreams of what the future may hold. Yet, he must have misread things if Simon is so repulsed by the idea.  

He’s about to brush off the idea when Simon continues, “why would you want me to hurt you?”  

Soap simply blinks, “why would that hurt me?” he asks, gently taking Simon’s hand and encouraging him to sit on the bed beside him. He gets the feeling this is going to be a long conversation.  

“Touching her will hurt you,” Simon sounds just as confused as John feels.  

“You wouldn’t hurt me, Simon,” he starts gently, encouraging Gwen up and onto his lap, “I know you wouldn’t, I trust you.” He knows it can certainly hurt when someone grabs another person’s daemon as it’s easy to use too much force, but surely Simon knows how intimate the action can be, right? How it can bring two people so much pleasure and joy? 

It seems that is not the case, as Simon hesitates, staring hard at the small honey badger. “You’re sure you want me to touch her?” his gaze is intense, searching for even the tiniest hint of unease or uncertainty.  

John nods, “of course, but only if you’re comfortable with it.” 

Gwen crawls to the very edge of his lap, leaning forward until her neck is stretched out towards Simon. He’s cautious to respond, offering out a hand to her so she can made the first move, freezing in place as though he’s dealing with a wounded animal.  

The badger, although very excited to finally be able to interact with Simon, moves slowly to nudge her nose against his open palm. She gives it a quick sniff, pleased when she encounters his familiar scent, before nuzzling her face against him. He’s still wearing gloves, the layer of fabric still separating them from true contact, but it’s a start.  

Over the weeks that follow, Simon begins to grow more comfortable touching the smaller daemon, getting into the habit of scratching her head whenever she’s within reach.  

It isn’t for another month that he finally places an ungloved hand to the top of Gwen’s head. Simon’s eyes are constantly darting between her and Soap, waiting until he’s sure neither are distressed, before his fingers slowly, very slowly begin to caress the animal’s fur.  

The sensation of Simon’s hand so tenderly stroking his daemon has John near enough melting, his whole body tingling with delight. His head is fuzzy, hardly a thought passing between his ears, and he can tell Gwen feels the exact same given the way she flops down into Simon’s lap with a pleased sigh. That reaction seems to be all that Simon needs to relax into the action, starting to scratch just under Gwen’s chin, before massaging his fingers down her spine.  

By the end of it, both Soap and his daemon are practically a happy puddle stretched out on the bed, drifting just on the edge of sleep.  

Touching Elanor is a much more complicated subject.  

He doesn’t want to ask to touch her, not when Simon clearly has some sort of trauma surrounding people touching her without permission. He wants to allow her to come to him first, lest either of them feel as though he’s trying to pressure them. They don’t discuss it and, after a while, John simply forgets about it, content with knowing they will never feel comfortable enough to allow it.  

He is proven wrong, however, one day when he’s sitting on his bed, working on a sketch in his journal. Simon is across the room sat at Soap’s desk working on some paperwork.  

From the corner of his eye he sees Elanor slink over, creeping up and onto the mattress. He isn’t paying much attention, not until she lays down right beside him, her side brushing up against his leg. His stomach flips as a thrill runs down his spine. Glancing up at Simon, he sees the other man hasn’t reacted, continuing to scratch away at the papers before him.  

“Elanor?” he whispers to the massive cat, meeting her beautiful golden eyes.  

She blinks up at him, staring at him silently.  

John moves his hand toward her, pausing just before her face to give the feline the chance to move away should she need it. But to his surprise, she leans into his touch, rumbling in obvious delight.  

Simon, meanwhile, whirls around as though he’d been jabbed, gaping at John and then at his own daemon. He looks anxious, but says nothing, only watching how John gently cards his fingers through the cat’s dark fur. The brit shivers, breath catching as Soap’s fingers feather down her back.  

“Sorry,” John laughs, pausing his movements, “is this... is this okay?” 

Simon’s throat bobs in a dry swallow, “yeah, uh, yeah, it’s fine.” His face is brightly flushed, looking everywhere but at John. His shoulders have drooped and he seems to be struggling to remain upright, hands tightly gripping the desk. “You can keep going if you want,” he mumbles.  

Trust Simon to never ask for something he wants, simply allude to it vaguely. Regardless, John starts stroking Elanor’s soft fur, his whole chest filling with pride at the way both man and daemon relax. Gwen cuddles up against Elanor, nosing into the panther’s side, the two daemons quickly passing out together.  

When John finally looks over again at Simon, the man is resting on the desk, peacefully asleep just like his daemon.

In an effort to combine both of my interests, I decided to expand on my Dragon Age!Metalocalypse AU in the style of Dragon Age: Absolution. I'll do more detailed designs later, I just wanted to get the basic concepts down

The general concept of this AU is that 5 musicians discover that weird magic shit happens whenever they perform together, due to demons or old gods or something like that. They're being watched over by a mage who's trying to study this anomaly and the Prophecy behind it. Also Crozier (not pictured) is a former Templar commander who's being mind-corrupted by Salacia (not pictured), the reincarnated visage of an old god.

Nathan: Qunari warrior (reaver). Nathan was raised by his adoptive human parents who love him very much (they're still alive; his backstory is very wholesome). However, Nathan started to manifest these weird magic-like abilities that could only be activated by screaming. Over time, he learned to finesse these abilities and now he can use them for cool pyrotechnics and stuff when he performs. Death metal exists in Thedas now.

Pickles: Dwarf rogue (tempest). Pickles was born to a very traditional merchant caste family in Orzammar, specifically a region in Orzammar where everyone has Midwestern accents. After being fed up with always getting compared to his twin brother, Seth, and not being able to live up to his ancestors and family expectations, he left for the surface. He expected to spend the rest of his life drinking his sorrows away, but then he met Nathan and they started a band.

William: Dwarf rogue (legionnarie scout). William is a casteless dwarf who was infamous for his abrasive personality. This ended up getting him into trouble when he was overheard badmouthing a particularly sensitive noble, and he was banished to the Deep Roads as a punishment. However, he actually enjoyed his time in the Deep Roads and felt a lot of pride dedicating his life to fighting the Darkspawn. His new purpose in life became wanting to join the Legion of the Dead. He manages to escape the Deep Roads sometime after the Blight, but he's still very proud of his legionnarie duties. He's a very good bassist because spending so much time in caves has given him a better understanding and appreciations for deeper sounds and vibrations.

Skwisgaar: Elf rogue (bard). Skwisgaar was well known in his Dalish camp for being the best musician in his clan. But over time, the novelty of that started to wear off and Skwisgaar wanted to be the best musician in other larger communities. He left home in search of a way to truly hone his potential as a musician. Also since he has a wolf motif in the show, there's probably some kind of Dread Wolf connection somewhere, I'll wait for the DA lore to update.

Toki: Elf mage (blood mage). Toki was born to an isolated village that was definitely ruled by a cult (think DA:O Haven). He spent his childhood being plagued by nightmares that eventually manifested in him accidentally summoning a demon that killed everyone in his village. But that didn't stop Toki from befriending the demon. Now Toki is just wandering around Thedas, developing an increasingly large arsenal of demon friends and being uncomfortably chipper despite his horrific abilities.

Charles: Human mage (knight-enchanter who is blood magic curious). Charles is a Circle Mage whose noble background has made his time in the Circle a bit smoother than most. After the Circles fell, he became the magical advisor to a few nobles, but he always felt intellectually unfulfilled. He decided to give up assisting nobles and instead chose to monitor this weird group of musicians, not knowing the kind of power he just tapped into. Also he's been secretly studying blood magic and necromancy.

Knubbler: Elf mage (rift). Knubbler is one of the mages Charles brought on to help him with his efforts. His time studying rifts left him blinded and a bit corrupted in the head, but his knowledge of magic is almost unmatched. Charles is the only person in Thedas still willing to work with him.

Abigail: Human mage (force). Abigail spent most of her life trying to be a perfect, by the books Circle Mage. But then the Circles fell and Abigail realized that none of this shit matters, so she might as well have fun. She joined Charles' team where Knubbler works as her assistant.

Melmord: Human mage (knight-enchanter). Melmord is a mage who fronts as a rogue. He was caught trying to steal Charles' research and Charles thought he could easily defeat him with magic, but oh no Melmord is a mage too. They have a homoerotic magical swordfight before Melmord falls off the tower. No one hired Melmord for this job. He just showed up and started causing problems.

Seth: Dwarf guy. Seth is Pickles' twin brother who did everything a merchant caste son in Orzammar is supposed to do. He married a merchant caste woman and had a kid, he honors the ancestors, he brings in coin, etc. However, Seth tends to get in trouble with the law quite a bit, specifically gambling, working with smugglers, fixing Proving matches, etc. But he's always able to pay off his crimes, so no one seems to care.

Amber: Dwarf lady. Amber is Seth's wife and another merchant caste dwarf. She has a pretty spotless record and tends to go unnoticed. I thought about making her secretly a former Silent Sister to explain why she never speaks, but I think even Seth would notice if she literally didn't have a tongue.

Magnus: Human mage (necromancer). Magnus was born in Seheron, but he moved to Tevinter in the hopes of expanding his knowledge of magic (and probably changed his name too to fit in). Unfortunately, even Tevinter thought he was too dramatic to put up with, so he was cast out of every group he joined. After getting fed up of his cool ideas not taken seriously, he joined forces with an escaped Qunari Saarebas, who is definitely going to listen to his ideas instead.

The Saarebas: Qunari mage (saarebas). The Saarebas is Qunari mage who escaped from his Aravaarad and went on a rampage across Tevinter to try and find his long-lost brother who was taken there. When he discovered that his brother was killed, he went on another rampage. He was able to escape Tevinter with Magnus' help and the two joined forces.

i feel like i'm in the minority here...but i love it when homelander's mean in fics. he's just so dreamy. <3

i absolutely feel you. i have a soft spot in my heart for meanlander, even though i don't write it terribly often. he was pretty awful in The Breakup if you haven't come across that one!

i actually have been noodling on a ficlet all day where Homelander finds out that the reader has cheated on him. i love opportunities to write interesting/tense conversations, and much like in the breakup, i think Homelander has an unmatched potential to be quietly terrifying and vicious. 😌🖤
