Wait is her psychiatrist Hannibal?!?!
Hey!! Something like that 🙂 her psychiatrist is heavily inspired by Hannibal.
I really enjoyed Silence of the Lambs and the Hannibal series and movies. I haven't read the books which I really should. But I am super interested in Hannibal as a character. I'm also a firm enjoyer of the cannibal trope as both a metaphor for love but also exploitation of power/ego.
Shes a redhead with a 70s blowout. Think curtain bangs but this is another image that is very her energy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amulya's psychiatrist is a woman by the name of Milana Spezia Deodato. She is an Italian woman that originates from a family of werewolf hunters. From a young age she was raised to be a hunter and it caused her to develop some peculiar behaviors and habits as a result. On the outside though, she is a very intelligent woman who at most seems a little eccentric and polite but snooty. She is also known as a very good cook! She was hired in the 1970s by Hellsing via a recommendation l from Sir Islands.
In my lore, I have it as Islands beinf part of the roundtable but his family owns and runs hospitals. Milana did her years of residency at one of the hospitals that the Islands operated. She obviously made an impression with the family and Islands himself for her background in monster hunting and how she was researching how to apply it to her field of psychiatry. Islands suggested her to Arthur for a new department of Hellsing that was focused in rehabilitating individuals who had experienced encounters with the supernatural. This was in hopes of keeping the operations of Hellsing from the public more and that people could return to normalcy in an easier fashion. Some people who have those experiences never exactly recover.
For Milana, she was given people to research and treat, while she got a good paycheck. But it also gave her plenty of food. Her cannibal habits are not known by anyone in Hellsing(aside from Walter ofc but listennn). Anybody she takes are simply seen as having fallen in battle and missing. She was always very good at covering her tracks.
Arthur handing Amulya to her was out of desperation because realistically, Amulya couldn't express the worries she had to any psychiatrist. It would put Hellsing at risk. Additionally, it gave Amulya someone in-house to talk to. If she had an episode, she always had immediate support through someone with actual experience and licensing.
Amulya came to rely on her and was being treated properly for some time. Many of her lapses was due to her own spiraling.
Milana had varying thoughts on her. She found her intriguing and a good ticket to get a look at what Arthur is like behind closed doors. She found herself very entertained by her dynamic between Amulya and Walter. She knew of his feelings from observing them both. It wasn't neccesarily wanting to match them up but more that she was interesting in seeing what would happen. The possibilities, the reactions of them all. She did eventually get bored of the situation. Milana did know Amulya was going to commit suicide before it occurred. It was how it affect Arthur, Walter, and anyone else in the organization. She got what she wanted, though she was out under alot of pressure by Arthur after the fact but Amulya's death was seen as her mental state getting the better of her.
After one of her attempts, Milana did start doing sessions with Walter. It was a conflict of interest but they couldn't exactly afford anyone outside of the organization. Their sessions was ordered by Arthur so Walter couldn't exactly refuse. Walter was never a fan of her. She had a habit of prodding anyone she talked to so he felt like he was always under a microscope. He never wanted to be analyzed while all she wanted to do was analyze him. Milana knew he was involved in an organization separate from Hellsing while he found out she was a murderer and cannibal. He was disgusted with her despite his own actions. Really they were two fucked up individuals that found a messed up but hesitant (on Walter's side) kinship with one another.
Milana remains in Hellsing till after the battle of London where she moves to America for a new start and new roster of meals.
Her and Walter's dynamic is this:

How could Logan be stupid enough to fall for the little sister of an overprotective metal controlling mutant? As it turns out, very easily.
Warnings: angst, gunshots, burns/fire, fluff, protective!erik, descriptions of pain, reader is german but there’s no further description than vague references WC: 2.7k

She was too much like her brother in a lot of ways, but at the same time, they couldn’t be more different. Where Erik could command any room he walked into, she blended, finding a home in the shadows where she could be hidden. He exuded confidence and a suave attitude that could charm anyone. She was meek, shy but with a power bubbling under the surface that felt like an even bigger threat than any her brother could come up with.
Erik shot first and asked questions later, Y/N wouldn’t ask, she would get all the answers she needed with a single look and then dispose of the trash without so much as a flick of her wrist. While Erik controlled metal, Y/N controlled pain.
Logan met the brother and sister duo long before the mutants were fractured. He noted how beautiful she was, even when he only glanced at her through his peripheral vision. She was curvy, with a belly and plump thighs. He told them to go fuck themselves.
The next time she saw him, she was alone. She seemed lopsided without her brother beside her, incomplete. Logan saw the way her hackles raised when Charles screamed at him to leave, calling him a liar. He saw how she flinched when Erik was mentioned.
Wolverine knew what happened between them, the rift that hadn’t ever been healed, even after her death in the far future. He was stunned by her beauty then, finally seeing her in the flesh after so many years, alive and well. Logan pulled her to the side as soon as they were alone, embracing her. Y/N tried to push him off but when she felt his pain, the raw burning like his nerves were on fire, she wrapped her soft arms around him, easing him.
“Stay alive.” He told her. “Do whatever you have to, you have to live.” He pleaded before he was pulled back to the future but not without kissing her like it was the last time. He stole her breath away as he poured every ounce of love as he could into her lips.
When Logan strolled into the Manor many years after that kiss, Y/N stayed away from him. He was so much younger, so much more whole. She could see now the pieces of him that would break away over the years and it hurt her. She knew what was going to happen to him, what had happened to him. But he cornered her eventually.
“You seem to already know who I am.” She shivered when she heard his voice call out to her from the infirmary door.
“You made a very big impression on the school.” Her accent had long since disappeared, snuffed out by the need to be hidden, to be safe. She didn’t look at him, instead concentrating on cataloguing the new medical supplies that had been delivered the day before.
The mutant huffed, clearly not content with her answer. “You avoid me like the plague while everyone else is indifferent.” Her eyes flicked up to him briefly.
“Maybe I have decided that I already don’t like you. You did threaten to abandon a young mutant on the side of the road.” He scoffed at the mention of Rogue.
“She had it comin’.” He shrugged. “So what is it exactly that you do?” His large body lounged against the one hospital bed in the room. She couldn’t help but glance up at him. He was physically older, slight grey in his sideburns, more lines on his face but his eyes weren’t as sad, the deep brown swirling with emotions he was trying desperately to tamp down but hadn’t learned how yet.
He was still incredibly handsome though. He walked with a confidence that came from youth, that blind faith in himself and his strength that made him cocky and untouchable. Y/N turned away. “I’m the school’s nurse, I thought that was pretty obvious, given I’m in the infirmary.”
Logan grunted, crossing his thick arms over his chest, holding a beer bottle between two of his fingers. “I was talkin about yer power, bub.” That made her smile, the corner of her lips turning up. She wouldn’t admit it out loud but she missed his attitude.
“I control pain. It’s useful.” She shrugs off the question with a half answer. She picked up the last of the supplies on the infirmary bed, making a note on her clipboard before putting them away.
She heard him huff and a silence settled over the room but it was not awkward or uncomfortable, it was just… silence. The beer in his bottle swished as he gulped down the last of the brew. The supply closet’s door swung shut with a creak and she chanced another look at the man.
She couldn’t ignore the way his muscles bulged so she forced herself to turn away. It would do her no good to get involved with him in any capacity, even if her heart screamed for him. Logan took the hint, leaving the infirmary with a grumble and a glance back at her.
It was impossible to completely avoid someone like Logan, even in a school as large as the academy. He seemed to appear in moments when her guard was down, lurking in the corner of her vision like a ghost. His blue eyes locked onto her whenever they would be in the same room, both undressing her and observing her with some morbid fascination.
But no matter how hard she tried, her lips still ached from that kiss all those years ago and her heart burned to know what would become of them in the future.
——————
“You seem awfully close with the professor.” The manor was silent, a much needed reprieve after the long day of classes in Logan’s case and lots of skinned knees in Y/N’s. An ancient record player crooned in the corner of the huge sitting room, bathing its two occupants in pleasant song which was quickly becoming more of a lullaby. The older mutant sat on one end of the couch with his companion lying across the rest, a thick book propped up on her chest and her sock-clad feet dangerously close to his lap.
She let the statement sink in for a moment as Logan took another sip from his glass of bourbon he had pilfered from Charles’s not-so-well hidden stash. “Are you asking me something or just talking out loud?” He rolled his eyes.
“What do you think darlin’?” He snapped but his usual condescending tone was replaced with a sarcastic tilt to his voice. Her lips quirked up and she shut her book, letting it rest on her sternum as she met his gaze.
“Yes, Charles and I are very close. I’m the same way with Hank and Alex, we’ve all been here since the beginning.” She knew her answer was one that was far more simple than he would’ve liked but she wouldn’t give him the full story unless he asked.
Logan dropped his left hand from where it had been resting upon his chest onto his meaty thigh, the edge of his palm now just grazing the tip of her fuzzy socks. “Are you fucking him?” The question was so unexpected that Y/N choked on her own spit. She shot up as she coughed, tucking her legs beneath her. Too caught up in catching her breath, she missed the way his eyes dulled at the loss of her closeness.
“Scheiße.” The German naturally slipped from her lips and she thumped her chest with a closed fist. “God no! Having a telepath as a friend is bad enough, I could never imagine dating one.” He smirked, letting out a pleased chuff.
“So…” He prompted. Y/N leaned back into the couch. They now sat side-by-side and Logan was able to study her profile as she eased the drink from his hand, finishing it off in one gulp.
Her face was solemn, haunted by something he couldn’t quite place, even in his many decades of life. She looked as if she were in mourning. “I traded one overprotective brother for another.”
——————
Logan’s legs ached as he ran, the smoke from the fires that raged around him singed his senses. Flames licked up the sides of the manor as gunshots still echoed across the fields, even if the fighting had already stopped. They had come in the dead of night, guns and torches lighting their way.
The school had always been a risk, especially being so close to town. But young mutants needed a place to go. It was inevitable that those who hated them would try to run them out, they all thought they had more time.
It was her voice that pulled Logan from his retreat. Laced with tears, she was comforting one of the older students as he nursed a severe burn to his arm. They were laid out in the grass which was still damp from the early morning dew. Y/N cupped his face with glowing hands and Logan could clearly see the pain that rippled through her.
More students gathered around them, each with an injury of their own, each begging for some kind of relief. Exhaustion painted her face as her body wound tight with agony. The ground shook as Logan dropped to his knees next to her.
“Give me their pain.” She was withering away right before his eyes, driven only by a need to protect, to give the children comfort in the only way she knew how. She shook her head and instead moved to a girl who was no older than 13. A flesh wound cut across her leg, the edges of the wound burned with residual gunpowder.
A sob escaped Y/N’s lips as she took the girl’s pain and Logan watched as the woman began to wither away. She was killing herself.
“Give me their fucking pain.” He yanked her hands away from the girl and laid them on his broad chest. She thrashed in his hold in an attempt to pull away but he wouldn’t budge.
Her eyes met his and she froze. This was the moment that he had warned her about so many years before, a premonition that he would never remember. But to give her pain, her gift, to someone else, she couldn’t even fathom it. “Please.” He begged, squeezing her hands in his own. She was weakening, she doubted she could stop him even if she tried.
Logan felt like he was burning alive as gunshots ripped through his arms and legs. And yet he smiled at her and in that moment, something shifted between them. “That’s it doll face.” Heat rushed to her cheeks and it wasn’t because of the fire that still blazed behind them.
——————
The sounds of power tools and hammers were almost constant nowadays as the mutants worked together to rebuild the crumbling school. Y/N strolled happily through the halls, the walls still blackened from the fire. The students were gone, taken home by their families or sent to safe houses around the country, leaving only a few teachers who wanted to lend a hand.
“They’re working quite quickly.” Charles noted from his place where the greenhouse used to sit. A handful of people, including Logan, Hank, Alex and Rogue among others were steadily building a large room across the way- a brand new library.
Y/N chuckled as she handed him a cup of lemonade. “They have a goal to achieve. This school is important to all of us.” He grinned slyly at his long time friend.
“I’m sure one of them has another motivation for working so hard.” His blue eyes flicked to the love bite that peaked from her collar.
“Shut up.” She muttered with a kick to his wheelchair, Charles laughed under his breath as she walked away to the man responsible for her tender steps and slight limp. As much as Charles loved to tease, he loved even more that she was smiling again and the pain that always seemed to radiate from her mind was now a dull ache that was easily chased away by the touch of her lover.
As soon as she was near enough, Logan abandoned his work, his full attention turned to her. Her laugh carried through the summer breeze like a bird song as he wrapped her up in his arms, lathering her face in kisses. The others rolled their eyes and continued their work as the couple embraced.
“I see my absence was not missed.” Erik’s cool tone froze Charles’s blood.
Rage rolled off the mutant in waves as he glared at the man who was all over his precious sister. His knuckles turned pale and Charles could almost hear the way his muscles tensed. “Erik, what a surprise. I thought you were still on the run.” He looked up at his old friend though he almost didn’t recognise him. His eyes were so much older, his soul so much darker but yet, it was still him.
Y/N had yet to notice her brother, too wrapped up in the arms of her lover but as she pressed another kiss to his cheek, Erik’s anger mounted. He knew what Logan was, knew exactly what pain he was capable of inflicting. “How long?” He growled.
“A couple months though I suspect that Logan had been pining for her since the moment he met her.” Perhaps it was optimistic of Charles to divulge details of their relationship to Erik, but he was a romantic at heart. “Logan saved her life, Erik.”
Her laughter did nothing to ease the furrow in his brow but the way that Logan grabbed at her ample backside absolutely did something.
“Logan?” Y/N asked curiously as the man in her arms suddenly froze and his eyes widened almost comically. “Are you ok?” She cupped his cheek and pain unlike anything she had ever imagined rocketed through her veins. Her bones felt like they were twisting in upon themselves, severing nerves and destroying her body from the inside out. She could feel Logan’s flesh move unnaturally as she pulled him closer to her.
“Logan!” Her hands pressed harder into his jaw in an attempt to steal the violent sensation from him but still, his chest echoed with his suffering.
“Erik enough!” Her head whipped around, as did the attentions of all the other mutants gathered around. The fury in his eyes was like nothing she had seen before, as if he was looking at a roach he had crushed under his boot. His knuckles paled with the force of his power.
A howl of pain escaped Logan’s lips, finally breaking Y/N from her trance. “Release him or I’ll fucking break you.” She snarled and for just a moment, Erik faltered.
His hold wavered briefly but it was enough for Charles to grab his wrist and completely break his focus. “This is beyond childish.” He scolded as Y/N pulled her partner behind her but her deadly glare remained firmly on her brother. Erik didn’t bother to respond, instead his shoulders dropped in surrender and Logan collapsed, the pain finally dissipating.
There was a flurry of movement as she fell to her knees and the others rushed to make sure they were alright. “She’s happy, she’s safe. Leave it alone.” But Erik ignored his friend. His Y/N was gone and perhaps she had been for years. This woman that threatened him when he hurt a boy, as he had done dozens of times in the past with no fight from her, was not the girl he grew up with.
She stood up straight all on her own. She didn’t need Erik to balance her nor Logan to push her up, perhaps that’s why her brother slipped out in the dead of night, leaving behind the one thing that kept him tethered to his humanity. Y/N would awaken the next morning in the protective hold of the man she loved and find a single coin, rusted with age and stained with dried blood on her nightstand. She knew that she would not hear from him again, Erik was dead, only Magneto remained.
The worst decision indeed.

Norrisville High, 1984
Mac Antfee - Junior, 18
Mac is the current Ninja of Norrisville, and has been for the last five years (redid freshman year three times)
Mac grew up hunting with his family; he’s not afraid of the rough-and-tumble fighting the Ninja has to do and will often attack with his bare hands
His relationship with Hannibal is very tense. They used to be closer at the beginning of high school, but Mac is beginning to let his jealousy get the better of him
The biggest conflict here is that Mac Antfee was not well-liked, but the ninja was. Everything he went on to do was driven by a deep-rooted fear that he would become obsolete without the suit
Hannibal McFist - Junior, 16
Member of the NHS football team and just organized the brand-new NHS Mustache Society. Hannibal is popular and rich and well-liked. Nobody quite understands why he still hangs around Mac but no one says anything either. Mac knows he’s out of place in Hannibal’s social circles
Hannibal knows Mac is the ninja, but doesn’t do much about it. He’s not like Howard - Hannibal doesn’t like to get involved with Ninja Business
Hannibal is head-over-heels for Marci but knows he has no chance with her
Marci Kranksi - Junior, 16
Marci is an Army Brat - her father serves in the military, so she moves states every couple of years
She stayed in Norrisville for only two years (her sophomore and junior years, 1983/84)
Marci is a heartthrob, but she’s very loyal to her out-of-state boyfriend (who goes on to be Bash’s bio father)
Marlene Gatlin - Junior, 17
Mary goes on to be the crooked Mrs. Driscoll, but in high school she was very popular. She’s pretty and funny and loves drama
Mary is high up socially, think cheerleader popular, but prefers the science wing and the nerds that are in it
Her love life is MESSY. Everybody wants Mary Gatlin. She’s the It Girl. Somewhere along the way it became common knowledge that if you wanted to ask her out, you had to get her attention by pulling the fire alarm. We know her type lmaoooo
Mac is in love with her, but of course Mary is more interested in Hannibal (she doesn’t date gingers). This is another point of contention between the boys
Willem Viceroy III - Freshman, 13
Willem - never Will or god forbid William, he’s very insistent about it - is a science prodigy. He’s in the same chemistry class as Hannibal and Mac, which is how they met
Willem doesn’t like Hannibal necessarily, but he’s a nearly impenetrable guard against being bullied. He’s a little bit like the group’s pet freshman and annoying as it is, it keeps him safe
Mort Weinerman - Freshman, 14
Mort is the most loser-est guy on this list. He’s the faceless freshman that wants to be cool
He’s part of the chess club and is very advanced in math. He has a couple band geek acquaintances but no solid friends
Mort knows Willem by name, but Willem doesn’t seem to know Mort. Same with Hannibal, Mary, Marci, and Mac
To be so honest, Morty here has no real tie to their plots. Like generally I think he grew up in a different state because of the accent so this is a Big Exception. But I couldn’t do this and not include him ok🙄

Hannibal but make it sapphic
Someone recommended a novella called Bloom by Delilah S. Dawson as it was apparently inspired by the tv show Hannibal. That got my attention. As did the cover art. (I kind of want to fuck the cover art, and I'm asexual.)
I feel like this is a twisted romantic horror story between a budding bisexual and a homoromantic asexual. Which I loved. More of that, please. Lesbians are great, but I like it when those of us who are a bit underrepresented are front and center.
Tumblr media
What I will say here is that if you're a fan of the show but really wanted more of that sapphic element - this novella is worth a read. The rest of what I have to say I'll hide in case you want to pick this book up without my thoughts in your head.
This is a story about Ro, a newly appointed assistant professor of literature, and Ash, a free-spirited artisan. The story is sapphic and feminine, even when the horror is on full display - and it is on full display. There are very clear parallels into Hannibal which fans will pick up on, so those craving a sapphic version of the Will-Hannibal relationship may be interested in this story.
That said, the Hannibal references got a bit heavy-handed in my opinion. I think that in honoring every part of him, the narrative leaned in a bit too heavily. I enjoyed the elements that were unique to this particular story more than I did the tie-ins to Hannibal. Something more domestic, something that turns a certain kind of polished pastel Instagram aesthetic into horror. A protagonist that resonated with the awkward feelings and tendency to overthink that many of us experience. How well Dawson represents what obsessive feelings look and feel like.
Because this is a novella and it had to move quickly, there were things that had to be told rather than shown. That's fine - but at times, in this story, it felt clunky. There are moments where the narrator is clueless, yet it's so obvious what's going on. The literary references are sometimes great but sometimes don't pull their weight, and I wish they'd been used a bit more intentionally. The foreshadowing is at times less shadowy and more like a big blinking neon sign. Even without knowing anything about Hannibal, readers will know fairly quickly where things are going. This novella is about appreciating the journey, and what that journey looks like between queer women.
Ro is actually annoying, and I love that about her, because anyone who has ever been obsessively fixated on another person knows how your critical thinking skills suddenly shut down. She's distracted, she's fumbles, she does the wrong things for the right reasons and doesn't really listen and often knows she's not really listening, and her internal justifications are weak at best, so she's definitely not a martyr in this story. She both ignores red flags, and is a red flag herself. Both of these women have needs they're trying to sate, and have elements of toxic behavior.
Ro's awkwardness and mistakes and messy emotions and overthinking are usually relatable. She's pretty quickly out of her element and gets pushed more and more out of her comfort zone, which she at times overthinks, but at times just gives into. I did enjoy that about her.
Ash read to me as distinctly asexual. That's never overtly stated, but that was the vibe I got, which I enjoyed. And yes, there's sex in this story, because asexuals do fuck, and do even enjoy fucking (it's me. hi.) but Ash? She's a homoromantic ace. She's not getting off on the sex - there's something else driving her desire. (I'm a panromantic ace with kinks. I will die on this hill.)
Ash is an interesting predator, and any story where you've got women hunting women is going to get my attention. I've had enough of men hunting women. Women hunting men does satisfy a certain urge but I have to be in the mood.
Women hunting women is a whole different beast. And there's something Ash says toward the end of the story that felt very uniquely like something a predatory queer woman would say. We only ever see her via Ro, but it's easy to fill in the gaps that Ro doesn't (want to) see. If you're a Hannibal fan, you'll understand Ash pretty quickly. Even if you're not, her motives become clear. I think the thing I liked the best was that her desire isn't singular - by the end you realize that there were several ways this could have gone, and Ro was always the one who was going to determine that. (Of course, how much agency Ro actually has is debatable.)
I'm not sure how more hardcore Hannibal fans will like the ultimate ending - they will definitely understand where it comes from. I have mixed feelings about it simply because it does borrow from the show in a very direct way that I didn't like. I wish it had been done a bit differently. But I'm not disappointed at what it reveals about Ash.
My biggest critique is that I feel like this should have been a novel, because the things I felt were a bit clunky and heavy handed and rushed could have been easily smoothed out in a longer narrative. I also wanted to stay in this story longer. Despite my critiques, I did like it, and I feel like there's a lot more here that could have been explored. Dawson wove in lots of interesting threads.
I love stories that center women and women's spaces and feminine aesthetics, without making them seem silly or diminishing them. Stories that, like Dawson's, see the beauty and the horror without trivializing. You never get the impression that she's parodying or making fun. You see the idyllic nature of the life behind the aesthetic, as well as the gruesome realities. These are all things that are very familiar and very understandable. And that's what makes it chilling.

Will left Lizzie's room after tucking her in. It went smooth. After only one bedtime story she seemed to be sleeping soundly.
He checked his phone and smiled at the notification that popped up on the screen seconds ago. A text from Hannibal who was away with business for the weekend.
He congratulated himself for managing everything so well. He had even cooked and the food did not turn to ashes. Neither did the kitchen.
And their 7 year old was asleep.
He walked to the fridge and grabbed himself a beer then turned on the TV. He could still watch the end of the game before he could go to sleep.
He texted Hannibal back before sinking into the pillows of the sofa.
Before he knew it he felt the sleep slowly creeping in and he decided against going upstairs into the bedroom since he was already comfortable.
"You are snoring."
Will opened his eyes while his heart was trying to escape his chest. Lizzie was standing right in front of the sofa, a few centimeters away from him, holding her blanket.
"I thought you were asleep." Will finally muttered as he rubbed his eyes.
"I can't sleep."
"Come here." He said as he lifted her on the sofa next to him and turned the volume of the tv to the lowest level. "Another story?"
No reply to that.
"I miss daddy."
"You know what? I miss him too."
That stupid bastard. As much as Will treasured his independence, he was also craving Hannibal's presence. The fact that he did so well without him meant nothing if he could not rub it in Hannibal's face.
"Tell me about how you and daddy met." She said as her big dark orbs searched for his.
Oh. Dangerous territory.
"Nothing really special. We met at work. I told you that I used to work with the police, me and daddy were helping them."
"That's it? That's weird. When I asked daddy, it took him almost an hour to finish the story."
Hopeless bastard.
"Daddy is talking too much, isn't he?" Will commented. "If you had asked him, why did you ask me as well?"
"He said that if I asked you, your version would be a little bit different. I wanted to see how. You could put more soul into it." Lizzie said honestly.
"Is that so?" Will replied and sighed deeply. Put more soul into telling a 7 year old about how Hannibal had hidden his encephalitis? About how Hannibal had framed him for murder? How Hannibal got him out of jail? How he stabbed him in the kitchen? How Hannibal almost sawed his head open?. Wait in fact what exactly had Hannibal told her?
"Lizzie, what did daddy tell you?"
"He said that even if at first he hated your aftershave, he ended up loving it." She said and giggled which also made Will smile. What an idiot.
"He also said he was annoyed that you were the only one who was not complimenting his cooking. But he liked that as well."
So these were the kind of things Hannibal had said. Will hated that he found it cute.
"Well, his ego was big enough already. But just between you and me, he is damn good. What else?"
"He said that you were the first person to ever help him glue a shattered teacup back together."

Father of Humanity (Adam Headcanons)
My Adam Headcanons... This is a scenario that just went through my head whilst cleaning, and this will most likely feature in the Fall of The First Man fic in the future (will contain teensy spoilers). (In which Alastor tries to return the humiliating beatdown Adam gave him in Episode 8 of the show during a 'trust, bonding and open forum' excercises in Hazbin Hotel because Adam Falls/is now a sinner (still not sure which, just that Adam will fall from heaven). Adam shows that despite Lucifer easily beating him up and almost killing him, he wasn't some weakling nobody that some low life sinner like Alastor could just push around. Adam shows to everybody that being the First Man and the Father of Humanity is NOT an empty title.) "Hannibal Lecter." Alastor tilts his head "What?" Adam points at Alastor "You basically are a second rate rip off of Hannibal Lecter. Although unlike that dude, your pathetic." Alastor sighed, legs crossing as he leaned back on the chair. "I don't know the details, but I do know that this, Hannibal, is a fictional character that appeared in 1999. I would be the original serial killing cannibal. Your attempts to insult me are not only pathetic but also unoriginal-" Adam interrupts him "Don't interrupt me, freakshow. We have our turns, and as the Princess of Hell decreed, this is my fucking turn." Charlie nervously scratched her cheek. This was another failed attempt of bond excercise with Adam around. The others are all uncomfortable and cold, if not outright hostile to Adam except for Charlie and her Dad. The others all took their shot to insult Adam in their turns, and now Alastor was the worst. Honestly, Charlie could understand them and couldn't begrudge them for their feelings because Adam was still Adam, and despite his change of heart about the exterminations, he still was such an asshole and didn't seem to change that much that Charlie almost questions if he really had a change of heart.
"That's- that's right, Alastor. You had your turn earlier, now let Adam have his." Charlie looked at Adam, who was for the first time in weeks, pissed off. Adam, to his credit, brushed off the others outright hostile and unwelcoming behavior towards him and was apathetic. It was her Dad whom he would have an argument and be pissed off at, but even then, her Dad was... strangely welcoming to Adam, in his own sadistic, mischievious way with how much he keeps wanting to piss off Adam but still want to be around him.
Charlie thinks that Alastor finally got to him, and all the others who had smirks and grins and snickering and especially Alastor who was giving his razor sharp smile, was delighted by it. Charlie hopes this wont end in a fight. "First, let's get one thing clear." Adam leaned back, lazy and comfortable, despite the bright bright burning gold of his eyes glaring down at Alastor "This is me NOT insulting you. This is me speaking facts. This is me enlightening you WHY you will always be the scum, the bottom feeder of my shoes, the ugliest stain of humanity, and a cockroach in my eyes."
"Alastor and Hannibal. The similarities? Both of you were serial killing cannibals who thought themselves above others and were stupidly entitled they thought they had the RIGHT to take others lives because of it." Alastor piped in, pointing out the hypocrisy "Isn't that what you did with the exterminations? Slaughtering so many because you thought you could?" Adam raised an eyebrow "There's a fucking big difference between us, shitface. I am the First Man, of Divine Ordainment of the Heaven, and it was Heaven who wanted exterminations to happen and it was FOR Heaven that exterminations happened while your a stinky filthy ugly sinner who DESERVE to rot in hell-" Everybody rolled their eyes at this and bristled at the asshole arrogance of seeping through once again "The extermination is a job. My duty. You? What's your excuse, oh-second-rate-Hannibal?"
Then Adam leaned onto the table, elbows on it and hands loosely held together. There was a glow in his eyes as he stared at Alastor. "You know what makes Hannibal better than you? He had a worse villain origin than you and STILL was the better evil between the two of you."
Adam smile was wicked and sharp "Again, the similarities. Both of you were serial killing cannibals. In your childhood, he only had his precious little sister, and you only had your dear sweet mother-" Alastor froze, radio crackling sharp it hurt to the ears for a moment as Adam continued on "Hannibal and his little sister were only little starving kiddies trying to survive a war, and then some assholes came by and kidnapped them, and decided to make a meal out of his sister. Right in front of Hannibal, they murdered and butchered and cooked his baby sister into a soup so they could eat. And you know what they also did? They forced Hannibal to eat her, because they pitied her! So in return of that 'kindness', little shit took revenge and killed them, and ate them!" Alastor eyebrows twitched.
"What does this have to do with me?" He sneered "The story in question is a that of a mere fictional character. You make no sense at all." Adam laughter had come to a stop suddenly, and suddenly he was standing, looming over Alastor with his hands on the table, casting a big shadow on the radiodemon.
Gold burning eyes and a unamused cold look on that face.
"What it has to do with you? You had the better story. A better childhood. A good fucking parent. You didn't have a little sister you had to take care of and be responsible of. You had a fucking sweet mother who loved you to bits." Adam said, his broken halo crackling with his fury "You had the better villain origin. Your bastard father killed her, and so you killed him. But you didn't have to eat him. Just like you didn't have to eat your other victims."
Adam's wings snapped open. Everybody, including Charlie were frozen in absolutely fear as holy power and Adam's aura grew like a forest fire, making them unable to move and slowly suffocate.
Her dad, where was Charlie's dad?!
Alastor though snarled at the mention of his mother though "Don't mention her, you don't know her, you don't know anything at all-" "Alastor Hartfelt." Adam spoke, voice echoing the room "Son of Mrs. Helen Hartfelt. Hannibal Fucking Lecter had the excuse of trauma and the horrors of what happened to his sister to turn to cannibalism. His psychopathy and number of victims in his ledger were all killed in ways just like yours, for artistry and for the satisfaction of sadism, and in a way, and all that stupid jazz. What about you? Is it because your dear old 'pops' used to beat you up every weekends?" Alastor radio screeched "Or is it because it was your dear old mommy who took the weekdays beating for you?" And then it was silenced, Alastor stared at Adam with wide eyes, fear and shock. He was all stiff and frozen, he wanted to run, but the loook in Adam's eyes, the gold burning eyes, Alastor could not move. He fucking felt like the deer he really was. Frozen in fear. Adam hummed "Could be, could be. It's understandable. Scum sinners like Alan Hartfelt truly deserved Erasure. But here's the thing-
Hannibal Lecter is fucking fictional, but still has the better excuse than you do. Tell me, Radiodemon. Why is it you have more numbers in your ledger of 28 years on Earth than Hannibal Lecter's 48 years of living?" There was not a sound from everyone at Adam's words.
Adam withdrew and sat back. With that, he folded his wings, his halo and aura returned to normal, and he wasn't fucking suffocating others with anything anymore. Vaggie clutched her spear. The others were all pale and sweaty and fearful and wary.
"Redemption is proven possible thanks to prissy princess here. But don't get me wrong, there's a fucking reason why sinners are sinners. Why souls are condemned to hell." His eyes flickered to the others.
There, they finally felt it what must have Alastor on edge.
They fucking felt as if their souls were there for Adam to see.
"Anthony Genovese." Angel Dust flinched, Husk was hissing and snarling protectively, fur all bristled "Don't worry, unlike this antlered freak, I won't tell anything that I've seen in your life. Just know this. Solve that little soul contract issue you have going on, and fix yourself up, try harder in turning your life around. In this hotel, your are the one who is the closest thing to being the next redeemed soul, that is, if you and princess here have figured out how to do that without fucking dying by my hands."
Adam crossed his arms "You have someone waiting for you up there. A spider winner who looks like you, white and pink. But wings and halo and that shit. Molly's her name."
Angel Dust stood up, eyes wide in hope "S-she is?"
Adam nodded "The reason why exterminations were kept a secret by higher ups is to avoid winners, human souls in heaven, to be upset. Family is family, love is love, and all that shit. That snake weirdo in Heaven is now reunited with his wife and son. If you ascend to heaven, you would be another fuck you to Sera and the seraphim, the final nail to the coffin of the end of exterminations. You and that friend of yours will be the hope of your princess, and the winners in heaven to be reunited to their family. That is, if you work hard and stop fucking around. How, don't ask me. I'm just here to oversee the hotel, and what I have done is already enough." Adam got up to leave.
Angel Dust didn't say anything, but there was hope in his eyes. Hope that was also in Charlie's eyes.
"Oh, oh Adam! Thank you!" Joy was in Charlie's eyes, she was happy with Adam's admission about Angel. This, she was sure was Adam's honest admission. No fucking around. Her heart swelled in joy. She always knew that he could do it. That they all could do it! They just needed time and faith!
Adam grumbled "Don't thank me. It's just me telling you an observation."
Charlie glanced at others, who were still wary, but were surprised and happy for Angel. But she glanced at Alastor, her enthusiasm died a little bit, and remembered that despite Adam's Fall, he was still very much powerful...
"But um, Adam that was not, very nice of you to do that for Alastor-" Adam snort "That lanky prick has been nipping at my heels for weeks, he got what was coming for him."
Charlie wanted to admonish Adam more and have him apologize to Alastor, but at the look in his eyes, she remembered the oppressive suffocating fury he had earlier and decided to let it go. Adam did mind the rules, he didn't start the fight. Alastor did and even then, Adam hadn't really harmed a single hair.
"So, uh. I appreciate your uhm, encouraging words. Even though I've been nothing but shitty to you-" Adam waved away Angel's sheepish but heartfelt apology and appreciation. "Don't mention it. Seriously, don't." Angel continued "So uh, how did you do, uhm, what you did earlier? Is that what powerful angels do?"
"Oh, that." Adam kicked his chair back into the table and dusted himself off "That's just me alone. No one could do that. Not even Lucifer. The closest thing would be the Hell Book in Lucifer's hands, that tells the very sin and reason of how sinners are condemned to hell. Oh, not just me. God could do that to too, very easily. But he's not around, so it's just me. It's a perk of being the Father of Humanity, of being the First Man."
Adam let out an aggravated sigh "It's why I was very insistent on wearing the exorcists mask. One look at every human soul, I could see everything in them. Their whole lives, in just an instant. It's pretty fucking annoying."
Alastor gritted his teeth. Still standing tall, but when Adam turned around, and stared at Alastor with his golden eyes again. Alastor stiffened, baring his teeth and his ears pinned back.
"But it's useful every now and then." Adam says, but there was no look of gleeful satisfaction. Of malicious enjoyment at another humiliation of Alastor from his hands. At how Alastor seethed in hatred and anger, but also was stiff and frozen in absolute fear.
"Charlie."
The Princess of Hell perked up, it's the first time the man had addressed her by name instead of any nicknames, gross or insulting or annoying.
"I don't know what that guy is doing at this hotel, but there's no way he's here for redemption. He doesn't care, and even if he did, he'll never be redeemed. Zero chance in hell."
Charlie looked at him, upset.
"I'm serious. I'm not insulting you. You already proved that redemption of sinners is fucking legit already, and I believe it and I can see its possible with the pornstar here. But this guy?" Adam scoffed "No fucking way in hell. Not all sinners can redeem themselves, and not all sinners are deserving of the chance of redemption."
Adam gives a sneer and a disdainful look at Alastor.
"That guy is the kind of sinner that deserves to get permanently erased from existence by the extermination. And good fucking riddance." Adam's next words pierced through Alastor's heart.
"Because if his mother ever were to see him, she would fucking weep."
Alastor felt his knees buckle from no outside pressure and fell to the ground, staring at the floor, feeling numb.
"Alastor!"
Adam didn't give a shit if the deerfucker fell to the ground and started sobbing, but the all red asshole really did look pathetic on the ground.
Without a smile on his face, and looking like he's about to have a panic attack right then and there.
Charlie glared at Adam, upset and angry, wanting him to take his words back. The others all rushed to the radiodemon, except for Husk who was looking at Alastor with an inscrutable look in his eyes. Alastor was swallowed by his shadow, and disappeared into the room.
"I'm not saying sorry. And shut your mouth Vagasaurus," Adam said as he put his finger on Vaggie's spear and moved it away from his face "Even you with your one eye can clearly see that I said nothing but the truth."
"Dude, that was uncalled for."
Adam shrugged "Truth hurts."
"Adam, you were unnecessarily cruel!" Charlie said, not budging.
"And you are stupidly naive." Adam was annoyed. The little bitch was the spoilt naive pampered princess who was sheltered by her asshole parents "Listen here, Charlotte Morningstar. I get that you care, like a LOT, but atleast be a realistic bitch! Your lil'gf and your dad can't keep pampering you and sheltering you. Your the goddamn Princess of Hell. Stop with the sunshine and rainbows, and actually THINK!"
Charlie eyes started getting teary, hurt but still remained firm in her stubbornness.
Adam sighs. Calm the fuck down, dude. Don't lose your temper at a kid. At Lucifer and Lilith's stupid kid, the spoilt pampered grown kid. Chill the fuck down or else your gonna get fucked up and thrown across all rings of Hell by her stupid dad.
"Take this seriously. If you keep up that naive idealistic rainbow mindset you have, not only are you gonna gett laughed by the entirety of Hell, you'll have Heaven looking down at you and not taking you seriously." Adam says "I'm not joking. Lucifer has no power to back you up against the High Council in Heaven."
Adam finally turned around and left for his room.
When he took a left, a direction to where his room was in, he was not surprised to see fucking Lucifer being the snake eavesdropping spy he always was.
"Not gonna throw a punch at me for hurting your daughter's feelings?"
Lucifer sighed, looking defeated "You said nothing but the truth." And then he shot a glare at Adam "You were being unnecessarily harsh to her though." Adam was not surprised that he gave zero shits about the deerfucker.
"Your daughter is a century plus old. She's a big fucking girl. She can take it." Adam said gruffly, unimpressed and then scrunched his nose at Lucifer "What kind of parenting did you and Lilith did to her? You guys were massive assholes-" "Hey!" "but you guys were confident. Arrogant and entitled, actually. Your kid? Your kid is a century old but has the self-esteem of a poor imp with a deadbeat dad and a abusive mother."
Adam shook his wave "Nevermind, don't answer. I don't care really. Just go in there and fix your kid, give her the fucking truth about how the real word works and how she needs to pull it together. Heaven is not gonna cut her any slack, Lucifer. You should have knowm that more than anyone else."
Lucifer released a deep sigh, and ran his hair back.
"I fucking know, Adam..." There was a troubled look in his eyes "It's just hard... There's... I don't know where to start..."
Adam sneered, no pity party and sympathy for the deadbeat dad that was the Devil.
"Why don't you start small and in the beginning, starting with Eden, and how that actually went down. Hm?" Lucifer flinched, a guilty look in his eyes.
"Adam, I'm- I'm sorry for that..." he said as he cringed,
"I saw that little book, and it seems that its spread all over in Hell. Even on some places on Earth. But I didn't mind it. Propaganda is also a thing in heaven." Adam gold eyes burned as he stared down at Lucifer "But I'm fucking confused why the hell is your pampered spoilt rotten grown kid still fucking believes that shitty propaganda of a fairytale is an actual thing that happened. Care to explain, L u c i ?"
"Adam, I'm sorry. We, I, I didn't mean to-" Lucifer stumbled over his words, unable to find the right fucking words, and reached out to Adam.
Who slapped his hand away.
"Save it." Adam said "Just go talk to your kid. Be an actual parent. And just mind your own business. Stop bothering me. I don't need your pathetic excuses. It's not going to change the past. Your fucking sins. Your fucking mistakes. All that you did. All that happened to me. Everything is all settled and done." He steeled himself, and fucking took a breather.
Lucifer eyes were full of guilt and regret and shame. Adam had had enough of it. He wished he could pluck them off.
"Adam, please. Hear me out. Let, let me explain myself-" "Didn't you hear me? The dust has fucking settled, Lucifer. Nothing can change the past. So fucking let go of it. And focus on the present and on the future, on your daughter. For fucks sake." Adam cursed, backing away from Lucifer who was still reaching for him, looking at him with those red red fucking red eyes full of regret and longing- "Just. Just do what you gotta do. I'm just here to see how your daughter is doing in redeeming souls and making sure she succeeds to say fuck you to Sera and the other angel assholes upstairs."
Adam closed his eyes "And if that happens, maybe, just maybe God will finally fucking forgive me and give me peace." Lucifer stiffened at Adam's words. His face graying at Adam's words, a reminder of Adam's wish and motivations for helping his daughter succeed. It made Lucifer remember the aftermath of the extermination battle those weeks ago... The look of horror and fury. The desperation in Adam's voice. Of God answering Adam from where the fuck he is. Of Adam's eyes, full of despair and emptiness. Lucifer held himself, his claws digging into his flesh. His He wanted to say something, but he couldn't find the right fucking word. In the end, he said nothing. He did nothing. All he could do was watch as Adam left and headed towards his room.
Lucifer tried to swallow the stifled feeling in his throat. Tried to soothe the stifling ache in his heart. Lucifer... Lucifer didn't Adam to go.

Baltimore Part Four (Will Graham)
Tumblr media
Description: Will and Y/N are on the hunt for Hannibal
Warning:Drugging, Violence
Word Count: 1,571
I looked at Will like he was crazy. He wanted us to forgive him? After all he did, like almost kill him? I wasn’t a big fan of the idea of forgiving him. We walked into the chapel and looked around. It was a nice chapel but something felt odd about it. “The Chapel is closed.” We turned to leave but someone yelled something in our direction stopping us. “What did he say?” Will asked not understanding. “He wants to talk to you.” Will looks at the guy as he comes up to us. “Senior Graham.” “This is my wife Y/N Graham.” I shake the guy’s hand. He read all about Will in the FBI file. “What do you need from us?” I asked as we walked. “I’m just like you. I do what you do. We share the gift of imagination.” Pazzi as I learned his name said to Will. “You do what he does?” I asked the man and he nodded. “So you knew Hannibal?” I asked him after words were exchanged between the two. “I met him 20 years ago.” I looked at the man as he told us what he remembered. Hannibal was a dangerous man that I knew but I wasn’t aware that he had another life. “That’s where you met il Mostro.” Will said. Pazzi pulled out a picture of Hannibal 20 years younger. “That’s where I met him. The Monster of Florence.” I looked at the picture and saw how beautiful he was.
We watched Pazzi leave as I looked around the place. Will had the crime folder in his hand. Will walked up to the crime scene and I followed. He moves the yellow tape and starts visioning what happened. “I splintered every bone…” He went off as he talked about how Hannibal did this. “This is my design.” He finishes. “He left us his broken heart.” “He has a heart?” I asked jokingly but Will looked at me and didn’t laugh.
We were walking down the stairwell to the catacomb door. “You think Hannibal is here?” I asked him. He nodded. “And you wanna forgive him?” I asked. He nodded again. I wanted to question him on why he thinks that we should but we end up at the door and walk in. The place was dark and kinda scary. There was barely any light and Will called out his name. “Hannibal.” He called out over and over again. I got the feeling that Will was right about Hannibal. He was here. I hear Pazzi down here calling Will’s name. “Senior Graham.” We turned to him. “You shouldn’t be down here alone.” Will says to him. “I’m not alone, I'm with you guys.” “You don’t know what side we’re on.” I said to him. “What are you guys going to do when you find him?” I shrugged. “I’m curious about that myself.” Will says. “You and I both carry the dead with us, Senior Graham.” Will nods. “Why don't you carry your dead back to the chapel before you count yourself among them.” Will threatens him. I hit him on the shoulder. “Don’t threaten him.” I growl. “You’re already dead aren’t you?” He asked and slipped away into the darkness. I looked around as I expected Hannibal to show but he didn’t. “We forgive you.” Will yells to him. That is if he was even in here with us.
The train moved as Will and I slept in the bed on top and Chiyoh slept at the bottom. We didn’t have much conversation but she was gonna help with Hannibal. Will shook me out of my peaceful as it can get sleep. “Sorry but you’d be mad if I didn’t wake you.” He says and I wait for him to continue. “She’s not in bed.” He tells me and we both get up. She was at the back of the train staring off as we walked out to her. “I like the night. It’s different from where we are during the day.” She says. “We’re different from who we are during the day.” Will says. We are both on her sides. “Why are you searching for Hannibal?” I asked her. She turned to me. “I know exactly where he is. I’m not searching.” She says. “Is he in Florence?” I asked her. She nods. “Why didn’t you tell us you knew?” Will asked her. She never broke eye contact with me. “I told you there are means of influence other than violence.”
She leans in and kisses me. I was shocked but didn’t push away or move. “Hey.” Will says and pulls her off me. She looks at him. “But violence is what you understand.” She says and pushes him off the train. “Will.” I yell and jump off it not even looking at her. I hurt myself by doing that but didn’t care. I got up as fast as I could and ran to Will. He was face down and he groaned as I helped him up. “Are you okay?” I asked him. He didn’t answer but took my hand. He looked bloody and I wanted to tend his needs but he began walking in the same direction the train went. “She thinks you want to hurt him.” I say. “Yeah well I do and so do you. But she wanted you to herself.” Jealousy laced in his voice. I smirked and gripped his hand tighter. “No need to be jealous Will.” He rolled his eyes at my teasing.
“Will, Y/N.” Jack said to us looking happy to see us. We both nod at him and smile.
“He’s wounded and worried.” Jack tells us. “Why didn’t you kill him?” I asked. Jack looked at me. “I want him to suffer alive.” “You can’t suffer dead.” Will says. We talked some about the situation until Jack mentions Mason. “Mason Verger is trying to capture Hannibal himself for purposes of personal revenge.” Jack tells us. “Have you told the police that he’s looking for Hannibal?” I asked. “They want to find Dr. Fell inside the law.” Dr. Fell. That was Hannibal’s new name. He couldn’t go under his actual name.
Hannibal turned towards us and smiled. “Good to see you.” Will said. “Hannibal.” I say, wanting nothing more than to kiss him. Though I held myself back. “If I saw you guys forever I would remember this day.” He says. “Crazy seeing you in front of us.” Will said. Hannibal smiled.
“How is Chiyoh?” Hannibal asked us. “She kissed me and pushed Will off a train.” I said and Will still didn’t look happy about the kiss. “Atta girl.” Hannibal said. “Hannibal there’s something all of us need to talk about.” I say and look at Will. He nods and looks at Hannibal. “We aren’t having marriage issues anymore and we’ve come to the conclusion that we both have feelings for you.” Will told him as we walked out of the museum. I watched Hannibal's face and he didn’t show shock or say much at first. “It’s true Hannibal. We’ve talked about it a lot.” I say. Before Hannibal answers, Will gets shot. “Will” I scream as he almost falls to the ground but Hannibal catches him. I help him with Will as Hannibal looks around. I noticed a knife on the ground that Will had dropped and picked it up. Was Will planning on killing Hannibal? “Come on, we need to go.” Hannibal says.
Hannibal walked into the house with me holding Will up with him. “Set him on the couch.” He said and I helped him sit Will down in the cho. “Will, you okay?” I asked as he groaned and moaned in pain. Hannibal comes back with a glass of water and make Will drink it. He hands me the glass and I kept giving it to Will. “The bullet is still inside you. This will hurt.” He says and helps Will. We both pull Will’s coat and shirt off to get to the wound. Hannibal handed the knife to me. “He dropped his forgiveness.” He told me as I looked at the knife. I looked at Will. “Will what the fuck is this?” I asked him. “You forgave how God forgives.” Hannibal says to him. “Does God gloat?” Will asked. I wanted to hit him for ignoring me.
“Will why the fuck do you have a knife?” I asked him again, this time aggression was in my tone. “Do you actually think I would kill him?” He asked me. “I don’t know why else would you have a knife?” Hannibal chuckled as he had a needle and injected it into Will’s arm. “What’s that?” I asked. “An antidote to help with the pain.” I saw Will focusing in and out of consensus. “No I don’t think that’s what you gave-” Hannibal pulls me close to him. “No love it wasn’t. But you two belong to me and you just made it easier with that confession.” He says and pulls me to the kitchen. “Hannibal, what are you doing?” I asked but he set me in the chair. He caressed my cheek and leaned down to kiss me. I missed the feeling of his lips on mine. They were soft and felt just right. I kissed back and he pulled away and smirked. His face dropped and he took my head and slammed it on the table knocking me out.

Hannibal scar tally
Spoilers for the whole show beneath the cut and some gore, blood, etc.
So, why do I care about scars in Hannibal? Well, I think pretty much everyone knows that there are a lot of metaphors and deeper meanings behind most of the ideas brought up in the show. It seems like scars are a big part of that. Every scar on Will left by Hannibal is seen as a gift by most characters and possibly Will and Hannibal themselves. As Frederick put it Will lived after the season 2's bloody end because," Hannibal liked him that way" and the whole affair was," Tantamount to flirtation". When will awoke, we saw his scar under the bandages bleed into teeth that morph into the shape of lips as if it was a kiss left as a parting gift. Hannibal speaks of Abigail's scar on her neck being a kind of gift from her father. That he loved her, and she should repay the favor.
Aside from speaking directly on scars, death and injury is much more obvious in the use of it being flirtation or devotion and what are scars but a lasting reminder of that act? Hannibal killing Antony Dimmond in season 3 and leaving him in the shape of a heart for Will to find speaks to this, as well as killing the judge in Will's trial that took a path closer to conviction for Will, and Will killing and displaying Randall Tier to prove his loyalty and appreciation of Hannibal, finally all culminating in Hannibal and Will killing their enemy together, The Great Red Dragon. This fight left them with plenty of scars to remember it by, which I'm sure they are just fine with.
Scars speak to experience, pain, lessons, and, in some cases, love.
Anyway, enough rambling, on with the count.
Hannibal
Tobias stabbed Hannibal in the right upper thigh on the side of his leg during their fight. (This scar is more so, in my opinion, a necessity to make it seem like Hannibal was helpless, but even if it wasn't planned, it is more of a lesson and showing a difference between the violence of true friendship and love, and violence that isn't worth Hannibal's effort.)
Tumblr media
2. Matthew Cut Hannibal's forearms when trying to kill him. (This scar is done in the name of Will with none of his input, it is meant to kill efficiently, but slowly enough to let Hannibal experience his death. It is purely for Matthew's own enjoyment.)
Tumblr media
3. Cordell branded Hannibal in the back during his time in Mason's farm. (This is obviously a scar of ownership. Showing that Mason has triumphed over Hannibal.)
Tumblr media
4. Jack stabbed Hannibal in the back of the right calf with a hook during their second fight of the show. (This scar is done with the intent to bring maximum pain for Jack's enjoyment. (Not that he doesn't deserve that.))
Tumblr media
5. Jack slashed Hannibal with the same hook up his chin. (This scar is meant to show Jack's triumph over Hannibal in the end. Showing that Jack either miscalculated or just didn't care to kill Hannibal but he left a scar in a highly visible area to constantly show that he was able to injure him on a fair playing field. A reminder and an exclamation of hatred.)
Tumblr media
6. Francis Dolarhyde shot Hannibal in the back, which came out through his stomach in the final fight. (This wasn't a massively personal scar; it was mainly intended to bring him down so that all the other injuries could be inflicted with maximum enjoyment with the camera and no risk to the Dragon.)
Tumblr media
Will
A pre-show unknown criminal stabbed Will in a shoulder, most likely the right, causing a lasting injury. (Not even a face to put to this injury, it is mainly used to paint Will's background and show that he is fallible and give him the depth of definitely once being in the field and fighting with the best of them. Likely being unable to do real harm caused this injury.)
Tumblr media
2. Jack shot Will in the right shoulder to defend Hannibal from Will in season 1. (This scar was a lesson in the fact that Will cannot depend upon anyone. Jack, Hannibal, anyone. His support system was taken from him and this scar reminds him that they will always be shooting Will first.)
Tumblr media
3. Hannibal gutted Will causing a scar across Will's stomach in the season 2 finale. (There is so much to say about this scar. It is pain, it is choice, it is devotion, betrayal, proof of love. Hannibal stabbed Will as a punishment for conspiring against him, but he missed all of his vital organs and left Will's fate largely up to Will's will to survive.)
Tumblr media
4. Chiyoh shot Will in... the right shoulder, to defend Hannibal from Will stabbing him. (This was a scar of warning and protection. Chiyoh, at this point, doesn't like Will. He has forced her hand and forced her into looking at her emotions toward Hannibal, which she has been avoiding for years. One thing she does know is she doesn't want him dead. Another reminder for Will that Hannibal has stacked the game against him in ways Will can't even know and that he will always have the winning hand.)
Tumblr media
5. Hannibal sliced Will's head in an attempt to eat him in season 3. (Another scar of many meanings. It means that Hannibal is attempting to forgive him, it means he not only wants to consume him, but he wants his most precious part of himself, his brain. It is also a scar of pain as Hannibal is so confused what he even wants, and this action largely comes from a misplaced sense of betrayal)
Tumblr media
6. Cordell sliced open the right side of Will's face to transplant it onto Mason. (This scar is clinical and doesn't have much deeper meaning besides the fear of once again losing who he is. A constant ongoing theme of the show is Will's becoming and his losing and gaining of who he really is. Losing his face would be a pretty big loss of self.)
Tumblr media
7. Francis Dolarhyde Stabbed Will in the........ right side of his face during the final fight. (This scar is a bit more personal. Francis doesn't like Will and may even envy his looks. I mean, him making it a point to tell Hannibal that Will looked "weird" while being largely insecure in himself seems a little jealous. Either way, Will was not being threatening, but the Great Dragon takes no prisoners, so after taking out Hannibal he makes Will his main victim and starts with his face.)
Tumblr media
8. Francis Dolarhyde stabbed Will in... are you freaking kidding me? Again? in the right shoulder in the final fight. (This was also a scar that doesn't mean much personally, though the knife has had a journey at this point. It was stabbed into Will, then the Dragon, then back into Will. This scar speaks to Will's resilience, he is not stopping the fight, he is not letting the Dragon get Hannibal or himself. It is a scar to commemorate the fight more than anything.)
Tumblr media
So, Hannibal's final tally is 6 scars and Will is at 8.
Hannibal's scars are all over, with two hitting him in the right leg, though in two separate places and mainly being done by enemies either in a fight or in captivity. Strangely enough, Will never scarred Hannibal at all. He had a couple chances, such as in season one when he threatened to shoot him, season two, when he... threatened to shoot him again, season three when he was going to stab him, etc. The closest Will got was sending Matthew, but he didn't give him that clear of instructions, so I wouldn't give Will those scars. I wouldn't give Hannibal any of Randall Tier's scars if we knew of any.
Will's scars are overwhelmingly centered on that right shoulder. Maybe people are sensing his previous injury or something, but he has 4 injuries out of 8 being that one shoulder, front and back. Another three injuries focused on his lovely face and the last one slicing across his whole stomach. Hannibal also owns two of those scars, one being on Will's face and the other on his stomach, both very personal, noticeable places.
Also, to say all of this about scars and not talk about after care would be criminal so, real quick.

I've recently found out a portion of Bedannibal shippers think that Hannigram is not canon and Bedelia is the love of Hannibal's life. At first I thought it was satire then I realised that they are serious 😭😭😭
Like Bedelia herself says that her relationship with Hannibal is not as passionate as Will's 😭 Are these people delusional or dumb? I love Bedelia as a character but canonically it is made clear several times in the show the Will is the love of Hannibal's life including Mads himself saying it. Also these people think that Will Is a boring and dull character. They hate Will Graham with a passion. This is so confusing and polarizing 🤣😭 These people are more bitter at Hannigram and Will than Bedelia was at her leg dinner.
Hiya. First of all, let me say that I think that people should be able to ship whoever they want and enjoy it without judgement. If that’s Bedelia and Hannibal, so be it. I’m a Hannigram shipper but I’m not the fandom police and I absolutely abhor the fandom police.
That being said, there’s a big difference between what is canon, the actual textual evidence of the show, and saying that Bedelia and Hannibal are soulmates and the love of each other’s lives because that’s textually inaccurate. At no point during the show this is portrayed as true. This is not even suggested on the show.
What the show DID TELL US is that after Will’s betrayal, Hannibal is devastated and angry and Bedelia being his therapist, becomes a temporary replacement for Will Graham and a source of advice to Hannibal. Hannibal is upset, feeling betrayed and he needs counsel and companionship. And Bedelia is a curious woman so she wants to be behind the veil and find out what the whole Chesapeake Ripper business is about.
But that’s pretty much it. As you said so yourself, Hannibal and Bedelia’s relationship is not that passionate, it’s almost clinical. AGAIN, this is stated on the show. It’s also a game. They’re always trying to outwit each other. I mean, after a few months with Bedelia in Florence, Hannibal is bored with her - she’s not a good substitute for Will Graham and he realises it pretty soon. Hannibal makes it very clear by feeding her (with the diet that the Romans gave pigs to change their taste) that he’s bored and done with her and she must die. Hannibal is literally feeding her to change her taste so he can eat her!!!!! She doesn’t want to kill with him, and she doesn’t understand him like Will does. She’s not a participant, she’s afraid. She doesn’t love him like Will does and she doesn’t love killing like Will does.
I mean, he then kills Anthony Dimmond in front of Bedelia to terrify her. From that moment forward, Bedelia is basically trying to find a way to escape Hannibal and Florence and trying to survive.
The show literally ends with Hannibal and Will surviving the cliff fall and EATING HER FREAKING LEG!!!! She’s holding a fork to stab whoever shows up to the dining room first… no love lost there, mate.
In the end, we see the canon soulmates, Hannibal and Will, taking revenge on her… that’s canon, that’s what the show textually provided us with. That’s that.
So shipping Bedelia and Hannibal, I mean go for it. But it’s certainly not canon that they’re soulmates or anything like that.
Also, thinking Will Graham is boring?!? Pfft please we’re certainly not watching the same show. He’s one of the richest and most interesting characters out there, and Hugh Dancy did a brilliant job of portraying his inner conflict, penchant for violence, love for Hannibal and overall desire to see the world burn down.

I spent the longest time wondering why Hannibal had an affair with Alana. Mads says that Hannibal doesn’t lie emotionally, but obviously he’s in love with Will when we see him sleep with Alana on the show.
The way I see it, Hannibal’s attracted to Alana and even cares about her. Not the way he cares about Will, but he does care. In Mizumono, he gives her the chance to run, to escape and pretend that nothing ever happened. She doesn’t take that chance, but this proves that he doesn’t want to kill her.
This got me thinking about the lack of physical intimacy between Hannibal and Will (oh yeah big shock right). Beyond the meta of making a kiss or actual sex “too obvious,” I wholeheartedly believe that canonically, Will and Hannibal wouldn’t have had physical intimacy during the plot of the show.
Hannibal never hoped to let Alana “know him” or “see him” (cries grossly). So sex with her was less important.
Will, however, did get to know Hannibal completely. During season two Hannibal held NOTHING back from Will. He trusted him so much that he caught Freddie’s scent on Will and still decided to trust him.
But maybe Hannibal didn’t want to give Will everything until he was absolutely sure Will would give him everything back. I’m 5774822882% positive that if Will had gone through with it and ran away with Will and Hannibal, that would have been the closure Hannibal needed (and they would have fucked in the bathroom on the plane).
As it was, they ended up engaged in a whole different type of penetration in Hannibal’s kitchen (I have been waiting to make that joke for too long). That’s why Hannibal and Will never made love. Because even if Hannibal trusted Will entirely, he wanted Will to sacrifice every chance to betray him before giving him everything.
Imagine how devastated Hannibal would have been if he’d slept with Will and then been betrayed. It would have shattered his heart.

I love Chiyoh, but I feel like in a lot of fanfics she is portrayed as horribly cold, emotionless and she doesn't like Will and would do everything to protect Hannibal from him. We don't know much about her, practically as much as nothing, but I'll allow myself an amateur analysis of her person.
(I spent too much time to read scripts of episodes with her). In inverted commas I placed dialogues and italicized the descriptions from the script. I also added screenshots of scripts, if I felt the need to. In bold letters I wrote the titles of the episodes I discussed and the summary of the whole post, because it turned out to be much longer than I expected.
Secondo:
We meet Chiyoh in Secondo when Will went to Lithuania to better understand Hannibal. She is an excellent shooter and has a very good intuition — being watched by Will while hunting, she realizes that something has changed on the property (Something is off in this place she knows so well.).
When she finally meets Will, who tells her he's Hannibal's friend, Chiyoh dips [shotgun’s barrel] slightly, either in hesitation or relief., but when he tells, he is looking for him, she raises the barrel again. She is apparently surprised that Will knows about Mischa, which shows the fragment of the script:
Tumblr media
Chiyoh also asks Will how he knows Hannibal and when she hears his answer, she comes to the right conclusion:
Tumblr media
Then Chiyoh asks Will to tell his story. We don't know exactly what Will told her, but he must have said something that made her react that way:
Tumblr media
Finally she comments his story with: “Hannibal took someone from you, are you here to take someone from him?”, so I guess it's safe to assume Will told her about Abigail, but probably without details about complicated relationship between him, Abigail and Hannibal.
She tells she can understand Hannibal, because he is doing what has been done to Mischa. So she rather knows about killing and cannibalism, however I guess she has no idea about the fact that Hannibal ate his own sister, but about that a little bit later. In my opinion she sees Hannibal's actions as a coping mechanism to deal with what has happened to Mischa (and it wouldn't be wrong, people deal with trauma in different ways).
As I mentioned before, Chiyoh has perfect intuition and realizes that Will is similar to Hannibal (“You're nakama. Aren't you alike?”) and that he thought about killing and eating her (“You've given that some thought.”). Here is a script of that moment:
Tumblr media
Will tells her also infamous: “I've never known myself as well as I know myself when I'm with him.” and Chiyoh’s reaction is: She considers that, recognizing the feeling.
Choyoh tells Will her story — she didn’t let Hannibal take the life of Misha's killer, so he left the prisoner's life in her hands. There is a dialog:
Tumblr media
Not only Hannibal is curious if Chiyoh would kill the prisoner — Will is also curious, so he frees the prisoner. Prisoner, overwhelmed by the freedom he regained after twenty-five years (Outside for the first time in twenty-five years, the man shivers with terror.), returns to his cell and attacks Chiyoh, when he gains an opportunity to do so. Feeling life slipping away, Chiyoh drives a pheasant bone into the man's neck, eventually killing him, which results with: She does what she has always resisted and deliberately kills the caged man. He slumps and falls off her. She lies still for a moment, then lets out a SCREAM.
She knows Will is responsible for that and tells him that, but the shock of what she did caused also dialogue, in which she begins to wonder if Hannibal lied to her about what happened to his sister:
Tumblr media
She decides to help Will to find Hannibal, because she had no reason to stay in Lithuania after killing that man.
Contorno:
On the train, Chiyoh tells Will how she came to meet Hannibal, how they played together as children and Hannibal was, “charming the way a cub is charming, a small cub that grows up to be like one of the big cats.”, with Will commenting, “One you can't play with later.”.
Will talks to her about the prisoner she killed. He asks if she sees herself killing that man, to which Chiyoh responds she does not see herself, but him:
Tumblr media
When they are getting ready to bed, they are also talking and the dialogue I'm pasting in the next paragraph, makes me think that Chiyoh, despite living twenty-five years in solitude, can read people like Hannibal like an open book. Will says that violence can be used to control behavior, and Chiyoh notices that Hannibal is affecting Will and wonders if Will is also affecting Hannibal. She also realizes that Will wants to kill Hannibal because he fears otherwise he will become like Hannibal, so she comments with the words, “There are means of influence other than violence.”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later she repeats words, “There are means of influence other than violence.”, followed by:
Tumblr media
(I really wanted to use that fragment of the script)
Dolce:
In this episode, Chiyoh introduces herself to Bedelia as Hannibal's family. She also tells Bedelia that they are like birds and that Hannibal puts them in cages, wondering what they will do.
When Bedelia asks her what she wants, Chiyoh answers, “I want to cage him.”. Bedelia tells her that she thought that the biggest Hannibal's mistake was Will Graham but maybe it's Chiyoh.
Tumblr media
The next time we see Chiyoh, she shoots Will. While treating Will's gunshot wound, Hannibal tells Will that Chiyoh has always been protective of him and is delighted that she, not Will, killed the prisoner.
Later Chiyoh gets into the elevator where Jack is. Realizing that Jack is going to the same floor as she and that the man is watching her suspiciously, Chiyoh tells him, she has mistook the floor and leaves.
Digestivo:
This is the last episode where Chiyoh appears. It is also the episode in which Chiyoh meets Jack Crawford. After Hannibal and Will got kidnapped and Jack is about to be killed, Chiyoh rescues him by killing corrupted police officers, because she thinks she should have done it (“I ought to. I should. Therefore, I must.”).
At the same time, she apparently realizes that Jack must know both Hannibal and Will. She understands that when she's talking about Hannibal, she apparently must also talk about Will (“You're sitting at Hannibal's table. You know him. You know Will.”).
Jack sees that Chiyoh can be violent, when the situation demands it and being asked, to where Hannibal and Will were taken, he tells her, he will tell her that information if she take his IV away, so she does so. He tells her where to find them and assures her he won't interfere.
To save Hannibal, Chiyoh travels to the United States, to Maryland. There, on the Muskrat Farm, when Hannibal carries Will half-conscious in his arms and is followed by Mason Verger's employees, Chiyoh kills them to keep Hannibal safe.
Next time when we see Chiyoh, she is on the porch of Will's house, where she finally meets Hannibal again. Hannibal asks, if she will go home, if she can go home, to which Chiyoh replies, “No more than you can.”, which is followed by the dialogue:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Much of this dialogue did not end in the episode, but despite everything, Chiyoh has changed her mind and does not want to see Hannibal in the cage anymore. The words “I see the best of you and the worst with steady hands and a slow heart.” I understand as the fact that Chiyoh knows Hannibal, she knows his good and bad traits; she's not afraid of him, but she knows she should be careful and not put her gun down.
I come back also to the topic of her knowledge about Hannibal's actions. As I wrote, she rather didn't know about the fact that Hannibal ate Mischa and it's pretty clear in that moment. She asks him about it and is actually relieved he only ate and didn't kill his sister.
Hannibal’s words “The most stable elements, Chiyoh, appear in the middle of the periodic table, roughly between iron and silver. Between iron and silver. I think that is appropriate for you.” mean to me that even though she killed a man, she's still the same Chiyoh he knew, since she is violent only when situation demands is and she's still going to protect him. Despite what she did, she didn't betray herself, as he did after Misha's death — she's better than him.
The last time we see her is when Hannibal surrenders. She's pointing a rifle at the officers and Hannibal, ready to fire if the FBI wants to kill Hannibal on the spot. Eventually she goes into the woods. It's the last moment we see her, the last moment we hear about her.
Summary (tl;dr)
All in all, Chiyoh is an excellent shooter. She also has great intuition, because — even though she barely met Will Graham — she practically immediately realizes how similar he is to Hannibal. She knows Will and Hannibal must be close if Will knows about Mischa. She also knows Hannibal took away someone close to Will. However, she says she accepts Hannibal because he does what has been done to Mischa, his sister, whom he loved above all else. She sees herself as Hannibal's family, but cries, realizing that maybe Will knows more about Hannibal than she does, because she asks him if Hannibal lied to her about what happened to Mischa.
She had a strict rule not to take a human life, but she's forced to do so in order not to die herself. She wants to protect Hannibal, because he's probably the only family she has.
Her words that there are other means of influence other than violence and her kissing Will, I understand that seeing how identical he and Hannibal are and that Hannibal influences Will's behavior and Will influences Hannibal's behavior, Chiyoh wants to convince Will that he doesn't have to kill Hannibal because violence is not the only means of influencing people's behavior — it can be also love. In my opinion, that's why Chiyoh doesn't kill Will when he pulls out a knife to hurt Hannibal. She shoots him to simply disable him, to give him a chance to reconsider his decision to take Hannibal's life.
She also realizes that apparently when talking about Hannibal, she must also be talking about Will, because in a conversation with Jack, she points out that Jack knows both Hannibal and Will.
At first, she wanted to put Hannibal in a cage, but: 1) after hearing from Bedelia that she thought Hannibal's biggest mistake was Will Graham, and yet maybe his biggest mistake was rather Chiyoh; 2) and after the massacre at the Verger farm; Chiyoh changed her mind.
I think it might have something to do with Jack's words, “I know them. They are identically different, Hannibal and Will.”, and with Bedelia's statement that she thought Will was Hannibal's the biggest mistake, and with the massacre at the Verger farm itself, as everyone Chiyoh has met tells her about closeness between Hannibal and Will; she also saw Hannibal rescuing and carrying Will, taking care of him at his home.
She realizes that all of this can't be the result of violence. I think she sees that both Hannibal and Will are beasts, but they can control each other to a certain extent. She promises Hannibal that she will continue to protect him, but not in a cage, as some beasts are better not be caged. However, seeing that Hannibal decides to let himself be locked in a cage, she allows it, because it’s his decision.
I believe that after these events, Chiyoh remained in the United States to keep her hand on the pulse in case Hannibal needed her. Given that Chiyoh herself said she can’t go back home for the same reason Hannibal can’t (bad memories) and that, according to Bryan Fuller, she was the one who took care of the house on the cliff, I think that theory makes sense.

Hi hello I watched all of carmilla in a weekend when I was 17 because a student teacher who in retrospect I had a bit of a crush on mentioned that she knew one of the actresses. also I am pretty invested in all your recent vampire stuff because I watched iwtv in 2 days last week because your edit intrigued me
oh hiiii 🫶 thank you for indulging me. thats so cool that you watched iwtv! did it live up to the expectation?
i also watched carmilla at 17! or like, 17-19. i found it when s2 had just started and followed it to the end. did something permanent to my brain but i think it was a good thing. on rewatch now im like, i was right to like this. like it's a solid show, it's good. it has its flaws obviously but it's well written, the emotional moments still get me, i can see why i liked it and i still like it now even when it's not anymore, you know, meeting every need that baby gay me didnt even know they had
what it doesnt reaallyy do though - i dont remember if i posted abt this or if i left it in my drafts but - is explore vampirism as a concept. their subject matter is more lesbianism than vampirism. which is great! thats what they wanted to do and they did it and it's very good. but reading interview with the vampire the book rn im realising how much potential vampires have to be metaphors for like so many things and i started wondering like 'wait, did carmilla just not really engage with it or did it all go over my head'. but it just didnt really engage with it all that much. which again is fine bc that wasnt what they were doing. im glad they were more about the lesbianism than the vampirism
but there's this interesting difference in framing, because in iwtv they keep calling armand 'ancient' right? and emphasising how old he is. and he's like 500? and i was like 'wait isnt carmilla like 400?'. she isnt, shes 340, but still, thats getting there, you know? and we know quite a lot about her history, but kind of just the Big Events. when she was turned, the events of the novella, coffin of blood, silas. thats sort of what we know. but none of the long lonely slog of history day to day you know? with armand i feel like we can really feel how much time everything takes. how every one of those years is made up of single days. with carmilla i dont feel that as much. i keep kind of thinking about daniel, when louis calls him a boy in the first episode, saying "im an old man, with all the triggers that come with it"
because carmilla might look 18 (or mid twenties at this point) but she has lived all that time. shes also seen her native land be claimed by like a succession of ruling powers, right? like armand. shes been buried alive, like louis. when lestat is born, shes already 80 years old, shes lived a whole human lifetime, and the entire adult part of it shes been a vampire. shes lived through 1680-1870 being a lure. i compared her to abigail hobbs in some tags on a post, i dont know if youre familiar with hannibal the tv show, but i do also kinda keep thinking about that comparison
if youre not familiar, in the first episode of hannibal the murderer of the week is this guy garrett jacob hobbs who kills and cannibalises girls who resemble his daughter. and later on it turns out she was made to be his lure. like they'd go places and he'd sent her to the victims to make friends and maybe get them back to their home or smth. not sure if they specified all the details. but that's what carmilla did for mother. and in s2 we hear from mattie that while every couple of decades carmilla had to lure victims for the fish god, she also seemed to just enjoy humans between those times, right? like the doctor, gets lonely, gets a new companion. but we've only sort of got mattie's mocking word for it ("dont eat him, hes a poet! or her, shes got such a wonderful voice. or that one, shes just too pretty to ruin"), we don't know exactly from carmilla's point of view what she was doing or why. if mattie's talking about stuff that happened after the blood coffin, 1950-now, then i think it's a fair assumption based on what carmilla says in the s1 sock puppet show that after she'd figured out what the real situation was and what her role in it was, when she'd started trying to save girls from being sacrificed, that she mightve been doing the same trying to save people from becoming mattie's victims. it's probably more likely that she was just trying to find excuses to stop mattie from sucking someone dry rather than actually having like an aesthetic based morality. but it might be a bit of both. im still trying to figure out what her philosophy actually is, like i dont know what existentialism actually means ghkfjghkj but i will
i also found it pretty striking in the movie when shes turning back into a vampire she says like "this was supposed to be done, you know? the blood lust, the self-loathing, the sleeping tied to a chair in my own bedroom". thats what defines her vampirism, wanting blood and hating yourself for it (the third part is a joke/reference to s1 but also i think meaningful for how she sees her relationship with laura when she IS a vampire. little bit of that 'she will reject me for my monstrousness' shining through). and thats what defines vampirism for lots of vampires across the genre obviously, but i dont know, it struck me. we dont get a lot from carmilla's pov, we know a fair amount about her, but the story is always told through laura. we get laura's diaries, but just snippets here and there from carmilla, what shes thinking, how shes feeling
and i love that shes a philosopher. i love that thats how she seems to try and find something to hold onto, in a world that kind of moves around her, having been murdered, kidnapped, turned and groomed to be a lure on the cusp of adulthood, never having been properly loved (the relationship with her father wasnt good she says in s3, and her mortal mother i dont think has ever been mentioned (like laura's)). the only good relationship she seems to have had for the better part of 3 centuries seems to have been mattie, and mattie seems to love being a vampire. i can imagine carmilla just sort of going along with anything mattie wants to do just because shes so desperate for that friendship. not like, against her will necessarily really. but more like, she hasnt even had the space to develop her own will, you know? and philosophy lets you do that. philosophy gives you frameworks to understand the world and to develop your own opinions on it. and by the 21st century she seems to have developed those opinions, she has a sense of her own values, but shes also still stuck in that same situation. shes jaded and cynical in the face of laura's optimism and strong moral code a lot of the time in s1 because she feels probably pretty powerless. like she does what she can to save some girls but at the end of the day shes scared of her mother and she has nowhere else to go really, right?
i like how she grapples with that over the course of the series, in tandem with laura grappling with her black and white morality. she sort of jumps ship from her mother to laura bc theyve fallen in love, but then laura still stuck in her hero thinking refuses to see her monstrous side. not literally bc i think the biological vampirism never seemed to be a problem for laura, but morally. the having murdered. carmilla needs laura to see that and love her while seeing it bc the last girl she loved rejected her for being a vampire.
but you see her kind of swing back and forth in s2. she softens first with laura but then they break up and she leans back hard into the sarcastic cynic defense mechanisms, leans hard into "im a monster, dont expect heroism from me". but thats like, it's sort of learned helplessness i think. it's powerlessness, resignation. bc morally shes not a monster. maybe she doesnt have as strong a drive to help other people as laura does and is a little more selfishly hedonistic in that she just wants to enjoy her/their life, but she doesnt hurt people for fun, she never has. she just sort of didnt have another option for a Really long time. so she pretends she doesnt care. "im a vampire, this is what i do, this is who i am". but clearly from the way she talks about it when she turns back into one, she doesnt enjoy it
and i like how she goes even further in s3, where she starts swinging even more to the heroic side, bc she sees hope. shes like "wow if we kill my mother, i'd be free". theres hope and she becomes like a lot more active. and shes like that at the start of the movie too, a lot happier, a lot more relaxed, and then vampirism is back and bam depression gfhgkjh like shes immediately more gloomy, ashamed of her past and her self, retreats into herself
sorry i just took this as an opportunity to dump all the carmilla thoughts floating in my head on you. you didnt ask fhkghgjh consider this an open invitation to you or anyone else to come talk to me about carmilla
#just finished watching the movie and i had actually forgotten but at the end shes a vampire again!#they totally gave us a super great opening for more conflict to explore hollstein's relationship#bc carmilla sort of puts closure to her past by taking responsibility for her part in it and it makes her a vampire again#and laura is like 'dont give up on our life together' and shes like 'im not giving up on anything!'#and laura is like 'we're supposed to live and get old and have grandkids how are we gonna do that if you dont age'#so thats a great set up#im putting the fic im writing i think another 5 years in the future#bc the movie is 5 years from the end of the series and im doing another 5 years so it's 2024#but theres so much opportunity to play there. theres conflict. tehres problems to solve. but theyre in a good place#i dont think they ever specify how vampires are made in this universe#therees some posts on carmillas blog where she responds to asks abt why she doesnt turn laura or if she would#and she just says 'you have no idea how this works'#but that was still during the series and the writers obviously wanted to keep their options open and their writing cards a bit closer to#the chest#but at this point you could make laura a vampire#you could explore that. see how they both feel abt that. would bea difficult decision#theyre also not married yet in the movie#they celebrate carmilla's 'rebirthday' where she turned human again#you could do a thing where they turn laura on that same day. sort of make that their wedding#not an easy decision i think. i think it would take a lot of discussion to get them there but not impossible#and would be fun to explore. both their feelings abt all that. and like anotehr 5 years in the future where they are in their lives#idk idk. brainstorming#thanks for giving me an opportunity to infodump a little :)#carmillaposting

The Rietveld-Schröder House undoubtedly is the most famous building of the Netherlands and an epitome of the De Stijl movement. Completed in 1924 it was the brainchild of Gerrit Rietveld and Truus Schröder, Rietveld’s lover and a woman with precise ideas about a house for herself and her children. But while Rietveld always emphasized Schröder’s share in the design of the house, architectural history largely omitted her contribution to this groundbreaking design that celebrates its centennial in 2024. This milestone offered the opportunity to not only celebrate the house’s birthday but also to shed light on its eventful history as well as its co-designer. Besides numerous events the festival year also brought about the release of a comprehensive biography of the house that has recently been published by Hannibal Books. Its authors Natalie Dubois and Jessica van Geel dug deep into the archives and embed the house in the work and life of Gerrit Rietveld and Truus Schröder.
After the death of her husband Schröder and Rietveld developed a radically different, anti-bourgeoise idea of living without household staff, little housework and in a fun surrounding for her three children. The result is history and obviously suited Truus Schröder so well that she lived in it until her death in 1985. Rietveld himself only lived in it for seven the years between 1957, the year of his wife Vrouwegien’s death, and his own death in 1964. But as the manifold photographs from the Rietveld and Schröder archives reproduced in the book show, they seem to have led a very merry life.
The depiction of the latter is one of the great strengths of the book as the authors vividly recount the life behind the walls of the house that to a great extent was shaped by Truus: she initiated the sliding walls on the upper floor of the house so that it would be possible to form one big space for her and the kids. At the same time the reader gets to know Rietveld’s work before and after the house as well as Truus’ contribution to e.g. the Schumannstraat apartment block. Hence the book is outstandingly vivid portrait of an icon, profoundly researched and comprehensively illustrated. A true page-turner!

Red Dragon (2002)
Tumblr media
Red Dragon can feel familiar at times: the novel by Thomas Harris was also adapted in 1986, much of what we see here we also saw in Silence of the Lambs and this is a prequel so you kind of know where things are going with most of the characters. That said, Hannibal Lecter as portrayed by Anthony Hopkins is such a compelling monster that even a little bit of him goes a long way. If you want more, you get it. Even if you shudder at the thought of ghoulish serial killers, this is an engaging psychological thriller.
After capturing Hannibal Lecter (Hopkins) and nearly losing his life in the process, agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) retires from the FBI. Years later, he’s brought back as a consultant when a serial killer nicknamed the “Tooth Fairy” attacks a second family during a full moon. After hitting a wall and with the next full moon approaching, Graham reluctantly admits he cannot complete the killer's psychological profile without Lecter's help.
We’ve seen several aspects of this scenario in The Silence of the Lambs. Lecter behind bars, an FBI agent asking for his help, a serial killer whose pattern needs to be deciphered, etc. Though there is a segment at the beginning of the film that shows what Lecter was like before he was caught, it’s not like in Hannibal where he’s out in the world for a good chunk of the film; the scenes are there to establish the connection between Graham and Lecter. That relationship is where this picture differs the most from Silence, as there’s a horror equivalent of a love triangle going on. Lecter is playing a strange game with Graham. He wants to keep him nearby by feeding him information about the Tooth Fairy but he also wants him dead. Lecter hopes the Tooth Fairy can get revenge on Graham on his behalf.
On the agent’s side, he and Lecter were friends, or at least respected each other professionally before they tried to kill each other. One of the reasons why Graham was pulled out of retirement is his unique ability to put himself in the mind space of someone as deranged the Tooth Fairy. Diving back into that world puts him in danger, in more ways than one. You can imagine a scenario in which his psyche slips and he winds up in the asylum too.
Though he doesn't know it, the man Graham pursues is Francis Dolarhyde (Ralph Fiennes). We meet him early on and see that he is infatuated with Lecter. Once he realizes Graham is on his trail, you can bet a part of him hopes he can impress his idol by adding him to his list of victims. He has many newspaper clippings of Lecter in the heavy scrapbook he hides in the attic and that means he's intimately familiar with the man who's on his tail.
That triangle is further complicated by the time we spend with Dolarhyde. He’s a bit… sad in a way, though we only think of him as a man whose redemption is possible because we exclusively see the aftermath of his murders – chillingly effective snippets thanks to the editing by Mark Helfrich and the cinematography by Dante Spinotti. Dolarhyde’s motivation may be even more off-the-wall than Buffalo Bill’s but he's made more human thanks to a romantic subplot with a coworker (Emily Watson). She adds an extra element of danger and intrigue to the story. Neither Lecter nor Graham knows she's in the middle of this storm. Only Dolarhyde has any idea of what she may have gotten herself into and he has feelings for her but he's also the one she should be afraid of.
The big unknown in this thriller is how Graham will track the serial killer down. What’s going to be the “Aha!” moment? In a way, then, we’re both ahead of the characters and following behind them. That’s sometimes the case with these types of films, particularly when the serial killer has a bizarre modus operandi but the characters make Red Dragon stand out. The familiar faces (Anthony Heald returns as the Dr, Frederick Chilton), the new main players and the side characters too. Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Freddy Lounds, a reporter for a trashy newspaper has a memorable role.
I’d have to sit down and watch Manhunter again to decide whether this is the better adaptation or not. Maybe it doesn’t matter and there’s room for both on your shelf. While Red Dragon is not on the same level as The Silence of the Lambs (and I haven't seen Hannibal recently enough to decide where that one fits in the series) it is a satisfying way to get more of what you liked before. Hey there!
Tumblr media
Have fun XD
(Blank version.)

- Saber
Thank youuuu! I am definitely printing that one on my wall, haha! My personal yap coupon. :3
Now run >:3
Lemme tell you something about the stories in my brain that never actually made it out! As you may have noticed, I have many characters that I care for. Deeply.
So how about I just throw them all into one big world of a bag and shake it?
Get ready for the most random Crossovers you've ever read about.
...
Let's start simple:
I've recently rewatched Wednesday, so who do I cross it with?
If we are staying in the world of Wednesday: Tyrell Galpin being the biological son of the Hannigram.
If we are shoving the characters into the other worlds: Wednesday being a 14yo with a doctorate, taking over the mental hospital from her father, Dr. Frederick Chilton. (still being the morbid curious girl with limited empathy)
If we move to my favorite The Collector Series
I've already talked about this before but i would absolutely love for the Heart Eyes Killer (HEK) being best friends or at least Profesor colleagues with Asa Emory. I feel like they could truly understand each other.
I also sometimes imagine how funny it would be for Arkin to get away only to get assigned psychiatrist by the police and it turned out to be Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The poor luck on this guy, honestly.
I also toyed with the idea of Frederick Chilton being the son of the Collectkin. Which would explain why he was so into Will Graham and Murder Husbands. I have a headcanon that Asa taught him taxidermy and Frederick secretly enjoys the Cheasapeak Ripper murders.
My newest addiction Final Destination
I absolutely am erasing the Canon. That never happened. I nearly cried because I was so pissed off.
I decided that I want to put Erik into other Fandoms and I've actually had a long discussion with Dar-Dar about which one.
No offense, but he's just not smart enough for the Hannibal, he's sarcastic and rude. He wouldn't possibly survive a day.
I would maybe put him as an influencer to the whole 'Message to Scott Cawhton' Universe, as an additional character against Darko. That could be fun!
Or as the next Collector's Victim.
There's also Mr Robot
I often think about Tyrell Wellick being best friends of Dr. Chilton. For some reason I think that they would understand each other and be able to unravel and relax.
I also choose to ignore Canon situation and I believe he actually moved to Duskwood, and that's what happened in the Game. The whole game is just Tyrell Wellick being the bisexual disaster icon he is. I just want him to have a happy ending.
Who also deserves a better happy ending is Dr. Chilton himself from Hannibal
That's why I sometimes imagine that he was married for the last few years and never told anyone. His husband would be Michael Schmidt from the Fnaf Movie. Chilton would be so curious about his dreams and about Abby. And Michael would take absolutely no shit from the Doctor. They would be such a baddass couple.
I almost forgot about Mafia!
Of course, my man Tommy. Now, I don't really imagine him in many of the other Fandoms, can't really imagine it with the year gap. But I am still set on my Mr Angel AU fic. (those who are interested, it's on my AO3 acc). My poor little meow meow.
While we're at it, let's see with the Youtubers
Now, I have said so before, but I don't nessessarily see the people behind the camera when writing such content. Since, I feel like it's obvious that there's a different between (an example) 'Dawko' and 'Lewis Dawkins'. I feel like youtubers put on a persona, just like Anti is. When writing a youtuber fanfiction, you're not really writing about Real People, but mostly about their characters that they created for the camera.
At least, that's how it works for me. I've had a lot of thoughts about this since I've already gotten into some arguments about writing about them.
I've already written a few chapters of the Mafia rewrite and I am still so happy about it, when I have more time I want to go back to it. Since I feel like that is a great universe for them.
...
Alright, I think that's enough yapping for today haha
I am not good at photo editing but!! This is me giving the coupon to you too @sabercatproductions, now I want to see you yap about something you want to! /nf
Yet again, thank you!
