Pardon my lack of knowledge but what is the difference between feedism and feederism?

i’d like to say that feedism is generally the term most people prefer once you take a look at the reality of things: people see this fetish as predatory. everyone has seen those cash-grab stories about a feeder pushing someone unwilling to very high weights. the person leaves them, loses weight, tells their story—the term they see partnered with those stories is almost always feederism.

however, the fact is that feedees do in fact have agency in these scenarios. just like any healthy relationship (platonic or romantic or anything in between), communication and consent are necessary.

with all of that in mind, feedism is preferred in order to take the focus away from feeders and bring it onto the act of feeding itself. it’s a super simple change that helps covey the reality of what we indulge in: feeding. feeder and feedee, not feeder and victim.

the fact the tumblr guidelines specifically state “feederism” says, to me, that whoever made that change has an implicit bias against us.

please feel free to add to this if anyone has more to say, too!! this is sort of what i’ve thought with my use of feedism, but i haven’t seen many other ppl explain their thoughts on the two different names.

something i really enjoy when done right in horror and tragedy is when it refuses to let comedy be a relief. yes, it is absurd, it's absolutely ridiculous - and isn't that just fucking awful? you have to laugh, or you'll cry, you'll scream, you'll lose your mind completely. it isn't escapism, it's complicity.

a criticism I’ve often seen of ds9’s handling of odo’s character specifically is that the show never explores that he previously worked for a fascist government and try to paint over it by saying he was “fair to both cardassians and bajorans” which… I’ve personally never understood because from my view they definitely do explore that, in fact it’s literally the entire premise of things past.

that whole episode is literally dedicated to deconstructing the idea that odo treated “both sides” fairly during the occupation and showing that he does in fact have blood on his hands (to the point where there is a scene where he hallucinates literally having blood on his hands). and though the episode only shows one specific instance of him siding with the cardassians out of convenience and his desire for order it deliberately ends on the question if this was the only time it happened or whether things like that were a common occurrence with him.

idk maybe people wanted a full arc dedicated to it instead of a singular episode but even then I still feel like odo’s tendency to fall into or sympathise with fascist ways of thinking is shown as one of his biggest overarching character flaws. when the dominion occupies the station, he almost sides with them not just because he craves the companionship of other changelings but also because they sooth his desire for order and (negative) peace. and those desires are often things he actively has to fight against to also fight against the fascism of the dominion.

and I think that’s actually a really interesting conflict for his character. having to learn to control those impulses from influencing his worldview too much lest it hurt the people he cares about most. especially because I think it’s a heightened version of patterns that often play out in real life — a lot of people have unexamined biases and beliefs that often make them susceptible to fascist ways of thinking even if they don’t want to be.

obviously odo has done things that would very much complicate his moral standing in real life, I’m not denying that at all but the same can be said for a lot of the ds9 cast. I just think it’s odd to single him out specifically and act like the show gave him some massive pass when I really don’t think it did.

i literally do not care about big emergencies on abc's 911. i want to see my characters talk to each other and have stories that are parallels to small, everyday (everyday for first responders) emergencies

Okay, but imagine a human giving their yautja lover a lemon for the first time. the yautja just chews the entire lemon whole, and you instantly burst out with laughter, causing your love to narrow their eyes in suspicion. But before they can question you, their entire face scrunches into disgust and mild horror. They can't spit it out because to waste a gift from you would be to dishonour their mate. So they're forced to chew through the intense foreign feeling, unable to stop their manibiles from clacking visciously in displeasure. You can't stop giggling, eyes watering as you have to cover your mouth to keep from bellowing laughter. Your yautja certainly doesn't find it as funny.

When they finish the nasty fruit they growl at you. "Ooman knew what would happen. Tricky ooman." And they reach out to pull you into their chest. "Will show you what happens when little ooman plays tricks." Their growl in your ear is seductive and makes you shudder instinctively.

You're already wondering how they would react to a lime next.
