I am desperately trying to figure out a way to shove my dnd brain rot and Steddie brain rot into one thing as an au idea and I am having a hard time. Like I have a small idea where it’s a more modern au (simply because I only know 5e I’m sorry) but the entire series is one big dnd campaign with different ‘seasons’ ran by Eddie being the dm, set in a similar setting that Kids on Bikes uses but with regular dnd rules, where it’s a story set in the 1980s but with crazy supernatural and sci fi elements. It would focus more on the relationships between everyone outside of the game, though, because everyone knows the plot of each season already. But there would be some things that explain certain aspects of each season. (Like Dustin getting Dart in season 2 because he decides he wants an animal companion and gets a high animal handling check one time and every time after that he just keeps rolling worse. Steve joining in season 2 because he was dragged in as a chaperone for the younger teens to play dnd with a 20 yr old to begin with and Dustin begging him to join after they finish their first adventure. The older ones there who are not playing the game, aka Jonathan and Nancy, make little quips here and there so Eddie makes up NPCs to be their ‘characters’ so they can help out the party when their real world counterparts make good points. Things like that.) And I am now for once actually finishing watching the show in its entirety so I will have a basic grasp on the story for once. But it would be a lot of work to actually write if I really decided to and it would be a lot of work and I am STRUGGLING. So basically if there are any writers out there willing to let me ramble to them about stuff and help me figure things out so maybe I can actually attempt this, that would be great! I haven’t written anything properly (or finished anything I’ve written, you do not want to know how many wips I have for multiple different fandoms) in a couple years and I’m feeling RUSTY.

zolu is maybe one of the easiest ships i've ever liked. they're dating, except when they're not, they're best friends even when they're kissing and they're still captain and first mate when they aren't. they hold hands, they hug. they have sex. they don't.

Luffy can hold Zoro's katanas and Zoro can hold Luffy's strawhat and no one bats an eye. one says "You're so cool!" and the other says "You're strong" and it's just another way to say "I see you, this is why I follow you/this is why I trust you". it's not seeing each other for a long time and still knowing how the other's steps sound like against wood and sand. the captain runs and the first mate follows. it's always "Zoro and the others" and "Where's Luffy?"

if they're just friends, if they're something more, if they don't have a label for it, at its core, it's just about how they get each other. they understand how the other's mind works. however you view them, it doesn't erase they fact that they love each other in a way they don't love other people.

Might be blasphemy within the Danny Phantom fandom but I just cannot see Danny x Sam being an actual ship regardless of it being canon in the actual show and now book.

Even as a kid I thought it was weird and couldn’t figure out why that bothered me, and I think now it’s because I never saw any indication of Sam or Danny ever being actually romantically attracted with each other. To be fair I saw that show when I was little, and maybe I’ll see those romantic moments that the show was building to if I can find actual length videos of the episodes.

But at this moment, I can’t recall ever having seen it.

And it baffles me, because I kinda don’t feel like Sam really loved Danny, even as a friend. And I think that really showed in the episode with her wish that changed the structure of time and space so that Danny never died and she was never friends with Danny and Tucker.

If she loved Danny, regardless if it was as a potential lover or friend, she would never have allowed him to die. Not once, but twice.

The first, okay, it was an accident. Kids do dumb things all the time, the more potentially dangerous it is the better — but the second time? The second time was deliberate.

She put him into that suit, without explanation, and without assurance. Nothing but a change of his hero signature.

She didn’t hesitate to let him die again, instead of asking herself if she could stomach watching him go through that again.

What person who loved you could do that to you? Could stand to see you go through that pain?

I feel a good example of love as well, especially in the show, is Jazz. She loves Danny, as a sibling, as a friend, and with all that love she would choose to walk herself into that portal then to let Danny do it instead.

She shows that deep love for Danny to the audience by choosing to protect him from their parents so they would never know he is the ghost boy that they want to rip apart molecule by molecule because she doesn’t want to take the chance of loosing him twice.

Jazz wanted to do that.

So why couldn’t Sam?

I imagine her intro episode would have her having a little romance with the professor when he comes into a bookstore she works at/owns and the girls being (rightfully, given the prof's dating history) suspicious of her. Wacky capers ensue where they try to prove that she's up to no good, only to find that she genuinely is just chilling and wants to live a normal life on earth!

Well, normal as she can, now that she knows this family! I think she'd fit right in 😉
