Hey! I wanted to ask for your advice. I was a minor part of the IF community, specifically the COG community, back in 2020. Mostly as a reader, but I dabbled in sharing some of my own writing too. For... reasons we are both well aware of, both in regards to COG, the larger IF community, and the start of COVID I eventually quietly left. Now, three years later, I've been quietly picking up writing IF again as a way to share my story with others. I was wondering if you think, in your opinion, it's worth officially re-joining the IF community on tumblr. On one hand, I feel like things have improved in that the larger community has matured (somewhat). I would like to make more friends, get advice, and maybe even share some more of my art. On the other hand, my project as it stands is... very non-traditional compared to a lot of other IFs (IE: No character customization, no romance, focus on a singular story with emphasis on worldbuilding, etc.). So I don't know if I would even be able to build a community around it even if I did officially rejoin.
I've followed your blog since 2020, including Project Hadea (although I think I originally started following you for your urban fantasy project, although I cannot for the life of me remember if that was you or another author!), and thought I'd come to you for your advice.
I chose to send this ask publicly so that you could choose to answer it privately, if you wished, since it is a longer ask. But I'm okay with you posting it publicly if you would like to! Additionally, no pressure or obligation to respond. Have a nice day!
hi there!! thank you for thinking of me - and welcome back! i'm glad to hear you've been writing again<3 it's such a good feeling, especially when you haven't been able to be creative for a while.
i think i'll start by addressing your game itself. personally, I think this community could do with some new blood in the form of games that are non-traditional; some of the best IFs I've played, ones that have really stuck with and inspired me, have been ones without romance, or cc, or otherwise outside of the typical format that gets popular on tumblr. honestly, i think we could all stand to get a little weirder with it. having said that, there is a very clear type of game that gets popular on tumblr (long-form, narrative-driven, usually with romance, usually with some kind of emphasis on character creation), so if you're a number-go-up kind of person (or someone who is susceptible to that mindset), I would be braced for your audience to remain small, particularly when you're just starting out.
that's not necessarily a bad thing. while I do agree with you that this community has grown and changed shape a lot since the late 2010s, and in a lot of ways for the better, it's definitely not perfect. I can't, in good conscience, say that this is the friendliest or most comfortable community: lots of people are absolutely lovely, and very very kind and enthusiastic; however, and this is absolutely not limited to IF but endemic to any online community, there are ongoing issues with Boundaries, and Respect, and the ways people interact with work and authors they're fans of. certainly, when you share your work you're giving up some control, but it's hard to predict exactly how that's going to go, and how the audience are going to react.
not saying this to put you off, but it's something I think everyone needs to be aware of before deciding to share. it's good to remember that you're not beholden to anyone. this is tumblr dot come, and you're quite free to start a blog, decide it's not for you, and delete; you're free to turn off anon, or asks altogether, or to never post anything save for updates; this is not a corporate space (and while there are considerations if you plan to open a patreon etc, but if we're just talking tumblr) and you are not obligated to do or provide anything you haven't promised.
my other bit of advice - and i think one of the ways to keep any interactions as pleasant as possible - is to be honest, and transparent, and manage expectations. if you make it clear what kind of game you're writing, you're less likely to get people who are disappointed that it's not what they were expecting and taking it out on you. likewise, setting boundaries is important.
i can't really tell you if it's 'worth' rejoining: i've definitely questioned if it's worth it, myself. i've seen some people, ostensibly in the same community as me, doing and saying things i find utterly reprehensible, and i've made some incredibly close friends who i adore and wouldn't give up for the world. and, after all, i am still here and answering asks, so i can't hate it that much. communities are made up of people, and like any group, there's gonna be people you can't stand and people you can. it's about finding your corner, and making it a bearable space for yourself.
i can't tell you if you'll have a positive or negative experience; I can't tell you how to control that. all i can say is that this is an online community, and ultimately you can control when and how interactions occur.
finally - again, i'm glad you're writing again! if you decide not to step back into the IF scene on tumblr, there's plenty of devs who keep purely to itch.io or the cog forums and seem to do fine; sharing your game does not necessarily mean sharing anything else. do what makes you most comfortable <3

As a twitter/tumblr user since 2010-2011, I believe I have sufficient grounds to say that currently we as a community are living through the scariest, shittiest time yet. This post isn’t trying to fearmonger, no I’m not leaving tumblr until it literally keels over, but I suggest that we don’t put all our eggs in one basket.
If twitter/tumblr stay usable, great! In the worse scenario, you’d have kept posting on a new platform and stayed ahead of the curve.
This post shares my personal experience with three potential “new”* fandom places, and is aimed to help fellow content creators. I’m an artist fully depending on internet to survive, my reasoning may not apply to you if you’re a hobbyist. Do your own research, it’s always healthy. * Pillowfort and mastodon have been around for 5+ years, bluesky is ~2 years old.
Discovering new people to follow kinda sucks on all three platforms, twitter and tumblr are eons ahead, but, given the recent chaos and uncertainty, I’m willing to be patient, keep posting on those, and feel safer than I would’ve otherwise been. More baskets good, one basket bad.
All three have poor visual customization, don’t expect custom tumblr themes.
This list starts with the least popular, but most human and easy to join, and what I personally trust the most. All three allow nsfw if labeled properly.
✦ Pillowfort is a barebones tumblr. Intuitive, cozy, but currently very, very small. Be patient with its clunkiness or lack of some features, it’s made by an AO3-like team. I’d personally love if the fandom crowd managed to redirect its attention to it instead of the sus bluesky.
Joining: is free, invite-only, but the waitlist is nearly instant.
Lurk around on their official tumblr: @/pillowfort-social
✦ Mastodon, for me personally, is impossible to explain directly. I’ll use several comparisons.
- Discord but all servers can interact. You’re still on a server curated by some human(s) that might tell you what you can and can’t post, BUT, if you don’t like that server’s policy, you can move to a new one while keeping your followers. - Email, users A and B may be registered on different domains, still they can talk. It’s a weird comparison, but fediverse (please I’m not explaining THAT but it’s a good thing) in general looks like another email story: unlike big sites that come and go, it might stand the test of time. - Someone compared mastodon’s structure to xiv’s dc and servers, if you look at its domain names that way, it might be easier to understand.
Depending on user, mastodon may feel gatekeepy/snowflakey. I haven’t spent enough time on there to form a proper opinion yet, but a warning’s due.
An actually good and hopeful thing about mastodon AND tumblr: the two might start interacting in future. Ever lamented that your fav asian artists don’t use tumblr? If they use misskey, or any other place on the fediverse, it might be possible to follow them directly from tumblr in future, and vice versa.
Joining: is free, however some servers close for new members sometimes, and have human moderators reviewing your request.
✦ Bluesky is a twitter without Musk: today’s average internet user reads this, drops everything and already looks to register there. It’s still sus, but people flock to it like crazy. Most likely to become the next big fandom place in my eyes, even if I’m not happy about that.
I personally have no good feelings about bluesky. Same as twitter, which I hated even before the 2018 tumblr exodus, yet the crowd decided to make it The New Fandom Place, and, grudgingly, I had to give up and also join them in 2022. During the year I haven’t stopped despising twitter, yet, I can’t deny that it helped me survive. I estimate half of my patrons, and, hell, even tumblr audience, comes from twitter. So, if bluesky ends up being the next hot shit, I’ll have to keep up because internet pays for my living.
Joining: is free but hell, invite-only, the waitlist is a lie, your best chance to join is a direct invite.
This’s all I’ve got to say for now. If you have a correction or an addition, replies/reblogs are welcome!

firstly, I love your blog and it's been a great resource to have as I've been learning abt punk! I hope you're well & ty for everything you do <3 do you have any advice for finding punk communities, both irl and online? I really wanna talk to ppl abt everything I'm learning and loving, but it's really hard to find communities. besides the landmine of trying to avoid nazi punks and the like, I don't rlly drink or anything so bars/clubs can be weird -teacupqueer/persie
Thank you so much!! I’m doing pretty well!
Finding Punk Communities Online:
I’ll be honest, I can really only speak on behalf of tumblr here. I don’t use other socials all that much.
But! If you want to find a fun awesome punk community on tumblr, you are already off to a great start! Find a punk blog you like or who has similar music taste, see who they reblog from and tag in their posts. I’ve met a LOT of really cool people this way on here! (Shoutout to @polyamorouspunk and @my-chemical-ratz whose blogs you should check out simply because they are cool people). And I’ve also met people who are in bands, or involved with bands (like @necromancy-savant and @dopamineband (who don’t use their tumblr anymore 😭)). I didn’t meet these people right away, it took a while of steady interaction with tumblr to build up these connections.
There are also Discord communities too, I don’t use discord much but I *think* (?) I saw a post go around a while ago where someone was starting up a punk discord server? Honestly maybe I’ll take the time to start one up, it might make me use Discord more lmao
Finding Punk Communities IRL:
Bars and clubs aren’t the only places to find punks!!
I’d recommend checking out any queer spaces in your area, I doubt it would surprise you to learn how often these two groups overlap.
Also! If you are near a city, chances are you have an underground scene somewhere. Google and Reddit are great resources to find the places punks gather in your city. For example: in my city theres a cafe and record shop that are popular among the alternative crowd that I never would have found without the use of Google.
Otherwise, what are your hobbies? If you like gardening/are into solar punk, see if theres a local gardening club! (I’d say a 50/50 chance of punk or karens tbh with this one).
Start up a book club at a local library that focuses on books like 1984 and Brave New World.
Go to gigs that arent at bars or clubs, I went to one back in February that was at an abandoned church, that was turned into a concert venue. The place was child friendly so there was no alcohol, but there were a lot of cool people there!
And the best tip I have for you to avoid nazis is to just know their symbols and signs. Do a bit of research on it and familiarize yourself with what to avoid
As always, other suggestions for anon are welcome!!

LONG ASK I AM SO FUCKIN SORRY
I always think of people's tumblr accounts/discord servers as actual places, and my mind is very fantasy centered. I've been in a big writing drought and thinking of your tumblr, how tumblr works as a whole with reblogs and asks and interactions, how the discord is set up with a bunch of brain jars really got me thinking.
I see your tumblr as a quaint shop in a small town, mainly full of hand-made books and pages everywhere, with a single shelf a Jars. I combined your discord and your tumblr into one place: your shop. I figured there's so many things going on in both places, so a fitting name would be "Charlie's Trinkets" since it's not just one thing and Trinkets are fun.
Anyway here is a little writing ramble I made, it's also in my "Not A Murder Jar" section of your "Brain Jar Collection".
While resting on your journey you find a quaint shop, simply titled "Charlie's Trinkets". You decide to venture inside, not knowing what is in store for you. However, that is half the fun, isn't it?
"Welcome, traveler!" A voice from somewhere you can't see states. "Come in, feel free to have a look around."
The shop smells like a campfire, in the sense that it smells as if people have come and gone, sharing stories, thoughts, things that have mattered to them. It smells as if you walk in as a stranger, yet leave as a friend. It leaves you curious.
The shop is stacked with multiple things. Now you realize why it is named “Charlie's Trinkets”. There's paper on every table and shelf you look. Some have even been bound into books, you realize. They're quite messily put together and obviously hand-made, as if the writer had no idea these individual pages would become one giant story. Other pages are ripped; intriguing sentences half-finished and leaving you wondering. You soon come to the conclusion (after reading a few pages) that all the books- or even pages of the same book- are not written by the same person. These stories have been shared and tampered, many lines bore into time and time again, erased and rewritten until they fit.
As you look around, you find where the voice came from. In the back corner, a person is writing. They are sideways to you and are instead facing a wall full of shelves. On the shelves are an assortment of jars, varying in shape and size.
"Do you need any help? Are you looking for anything specific or just browsing?" The person asks, looking up from their page. You tell them you are just browsing, and you inquire about the shelf of jars, asking if they are for sale.
"Oh no, they are not for 'sale'." They chuckle. "These jars are no ordinary jars."
They do not explain more, which urges your mind to ask another question: what do you mean?
"Well," she- Charlie- starts, glancing at the shelf as they set their page aside, "these jars are the thoughts of many who have come into my shop. We have been friends for a while, and they wanted a place to keep track of and organize their thoughts. These jars give them a home. While these jars rest here, a person has a copy of their jar. When they have a thought they wish not to lose, they open their jar, speak into it, and their thought is kept safe here, in my shop." you take a cautious step closer, attempting to read the labels on each jar. Some are completely empty, you realize; such as "Soleil jar". Others are filled with thoughts, yet never seem to run out of space.
"You are welcome to open whichever jar you would like, but be cautious about it. It will take you inside the jar, to a different place. There is always a way out. It can be very nerve-wracking for your first time."
You find a jar on the edge of the shelf. It looks newer than the others, taller than it is round, almost touching the shelf above it. You pick it up and read the label "Not A Murder Jar". Charlie watches you with careful eyes the entire time, struggling to find the right words to say.
"You might want to choose a different jar for your first one.."
You shake your head, saying it'll do just fine.
You force open the tightly screwed lid.
Finally, you realize one detail too late:
You Should Have Listened To Charlie.
I hope you had fun reading this, I'm glad I was able to escape the dark grasp that Writing Block had on me by thinking D&D thoughts lol
Have a nice day/night!
WALTZ
I don’t even know how to begin expressing my adoration for this. It’s… it’s like a fanfiction of the community? Of me? (Is that vain? I hope not)
And oh my god it’s so ADORABLE! The brain jars, the shop, the imagery!! I could cry this is so beautiful and sweet and thoughtful. It was the most wonderful thing I could have woken up to after a rough night.
I am constantly blown away and humbled by people like you, that I’ve gotten to interact with and share thoughts and ideas and writing with. I am so lucky and grateful. I’m seriously going to cherish this forever. It means so so much to me 💕 words cannot express just… how much this has blown my mind.
Sincerely, thank you, Waltz.

just an update?
Hello my maggots, Asmi here. I'm really sorry that I haven't replied to a lot of the stuff I've been tagged in/reblogs/DMs, it has been a... chaotic two days. I promise I'll get to them soon, as soon as my mind calms down a bit (to its ordinary level of chaos, I mean).
In an update on the 10khaos, for those who haven't heard, my hair is indeed now Crowley red, the Discord server is made (and currently broiling in utter madness, the Youtube channel has also been made and I have an idea for the first video, and I will soon set forth and adopt the Crowley, Aziraphale and Adam plants.
So as for the irl mind stuff, it's basically that the red hair brought up the question of whether or not I'd be able to go through with college, design school starts in May-ish.
(um mild tw for bullying and a mention of transphobia, skip the next two paragraphs if that is a trigger for you)
I've been in college before, that was design too, for three months. And I had to drop out because I was being isolated and bullied by everyone there including the dean, as well as a lot of transphobia and discrimination on the basis of mental health issues.
Soooo... yeah. There's also the fact that the new college will be far more conservative and I live in India and it's all really a shit of a mess. So my mum asked me to think about whether I wanted to do distance learning instead, since I already am a designer and have done projects.
It's a lot to think about. And my head is being all messy, ya know how it is. If any of you have advice or experience with distance learning, that would be amazing, actually.
(Also my family were kind of really mean about my Crowley hair)
(Oh well)
(I love it and I have you amazing maggots so)
Anyway yes I just wanted to say what was going on so that you know why if I don't respond immediately to things going on :") And if you want to interact with the other maggots, the Discord server is always there, links get messed up on posts but I'm sure @arkytiorlecter or @howmanyholesinswisscheese will send you the invite link if you need it. It's in one of my posts, but things do tend to get lost on my blog, don't they?
No matter what I want you all to know that you are so, so loved, you are more than enough just by existing and being your beautiful selves, and you have made my life immeasurably better. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I love you I love you I love you maggots. I promise I'll go through the notes soon and cause chaos :") So beware. It just might take a day or two for me to get back to my usual frequency of chronical onlineness (which is my happy place muehuehue).
Have a wonderful day, and remember to eat and sleep and hydrate and take meds if you need to.
All my maggoty princely love for you, Asmi

👋Tell me about Zampanio
OKAY. so. (unreality tw)
i've explained this before in an old post but i am always up to ramble about this more lmao (also idk where the old post is, it was pinned for a while but has since been Buried)
back in like. i forgor exactly when, the 70s-80s? there was SUPPOSEDLY this weird old retro game called zampanio
what is it? what's it about? how does it play? who knows lmao
descriptions of it are wildly different and wildly inconsistent beyond a few core themes, and apparently have a tendency to delete themselves? idk it's weird
is zampanio even real? doubt it!
but! people still make fan-works of it
and now there's like. this weird self-perpetuating spiral of zampanio fanfiction where there is no original source material so people just make stuff based on other stuff based on other stuff
basically anything can be a zampanio fan-work (usually called a "branch" since there isn't really an original source material for it all to be fan-works of)
people have made zampanio branches in all sorts of different fandoms
it's magnus archives and it's homestuck and it's rain world and it's animorphs and it's mario & luigi and it's undertale and it's basically anything you want it to be
and basically the only things tying most of them together are occasional references between specific ones like recurring characters, and a few general overarching themes of obsession and stuff
it's kind of like goncharov
except it actually PREDATES goncharov (like, i'm in a zampanio discord server which has existed since before goncharov was a thing and i remember how funny everyone thought it was when Zampanio But Mafia Movie became a main-stream meme lmao)
it's very fun interacting with the community, it's pretty small but they've made some really cool stuff
there's a lot of unreality themes and it can definitely be. intense. at times
if you have issues with unreality/horror stuff it might not be for you?
but there's also a very comfortable vibe of like. you're surrounded by cautionary tales about getting too obsessed with stuff, but also reminders to NOT get too obsessed with stuff
the shambling horror with your face is asking when the last time you drank some water and went outside is
it's very funny how those two things can coexist
anyway like. if you look up zampanio you'll probably find a bunch of different zampanio things around the internet
but this is also a pretty good place to start
http://www.farragofiction.com/ZampanioSim/
jr's branch is kind of like. the one that kick-started everything
it's very cool lmao
anyway everyone go check out zampanio

Progress Update!
I know it’s been a while since I posted an update on here so here’s just a big update dump!
Last time I really talked on here, I was about to run a few beta test sessions. Which did happen but too much happened during the two sessions and I ultimately had to cancel the rest. Which was a bummer but its ok! I got a lot of good data on what did and did not work. So I took a few weeks as a break and got back to work. Most of said work has been reworking the Move dex to be clearer and more consistent. Which brings me to…
The Move Dex is now at version 6!
@bdigfreakingwooper and I, as well as a few others from the discord server, have gone through the entire move dex (again) and its hopefully in the last stages of development! Combat still needs overhauled somewhat so the move dex might need to be updated again afterwards but other than that, I don’t foresee any other big issues so I’m happy with where its at.
It now includes all moves (excluding z-moves & dynamax/ gigantamax moves), a few custom moves (still being added to), Key words, and move range descriptions/examples. I will be posting it here in the near future, once combat has been reworked and a few more custom moves have been added. Here’s a few notable moves that I just want to show off:
Tumblr media
I’m sure parts of this won’t make much sense yet so if there’s anything you’re curious about, let me know!
Current Focus
What we’re currently working on is creating an Ability dex, with every ability being adapted to this system. We’ve started work on it and it hopefully won’t take nearly as long as the Move dex to finish (or finished enough). Other than a few annoying ones (looking at Transform) its not too bad! My personal favorite so far is Ball Fetch, the signature ability of Yamper, which in this system has a D6 Chance to regain an Orb after a party member uses it, if User has free pouch slot. Just the thought of little Yamper running to retrieve Orbs is so cute I couldn’t help myself lol.
As for what comes after the Ability dex, I have an ever growing To-Do list that’s slowly being worked through, starting with overhauling the combat system. Then there’s going through all the status effects, weather, terrain, items, Dojo effects, and a bunch of other stuff. Once that’s done I’ll be going back to working on the Player’s Guide, which will be a simple introductory guide to the system, character creation, and a few other important things. After that? No clue. We’ll see what happens!
Other Stuff
The server has reached over 30 members! Its been an absolute blast to hang out in with everyone. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten as much work as I have without those in the server, most notably Nines (@bdigfreakingwooper) who is now the Co-Creator of PDM! She has done a lot work independently as well, like creating a version of the character sheet that automatically fills in stuff like move information and a treasure bag sheet that does the same with items! Its absolutely insane, biggest thanks to her for being here through so much of the development.
Also about the server, I’ve been streaming a playthrough of Explorers of Sky, following the adventures of Team Soy Bois, and it’s been a huge blast. A few of us have even been doing voices for all the characters and some others enjoy just joining muted and chiming in using the text chat. We also have been doing movie nights, going through all the Pokémon movies, which has been on hiatus but will be starting back up next week! Its overall a very chill place and I would encourage anyone following the blog to consider checking it out!
As always, I appreciate the support and interactions from everyone and I will try my best to update more regularly! If you have any questions or comments or anything, my asks and DMs are open!

Blog Introduction
Hello! Welcome to our very own "___ culture is" blog. We hadn't seen any for this topic yet, so here it is! In this post, we'll explain what this is all about and the rules we have in place before you can think about sending anything.
So, what is this about?
An intuspluric or intra-system relationship refers to relationships, attractions and connections between headmates of the same system. This is often understood within a romantic context, but can apply to any sort of relationship, be it platonic, queerplatonic, familiar or anything else. Definition adapted from the following Pluralpedia pages:
The purpose of this blog is to share culture (AKA relatable situations, moods or personal anecdotes) by any system who experience those kinds of relationships! If this sounds interesting, be sure to read the following rules before participating:
1. Submissions must be posted in the form of asks.
This is just for uniformity's sake. Instead of sending submissions, select the option to send an ask and share your ideas through there. Additionally, all culture asks must start with "Intuspluric culture is", "In-sys culture is" or any variations that might fit the specified relationship type.
All types of relationships are allowed, and we will try our best to tag accordingly, but we don't have any strict format set in place.
2. This is not a social blog.
While it's fine to send non "culture is" asks, please still keep them on topic. We might occasionally try to answer questions related to being a system, having intuspluric relationships, etc. But don't forget that this is not the focus of our blog and we won't always be able to help you. Please look for specialized blogs, Discord servers, or r/plural for dealing with such matters.
If you want to be friends with the mods, that's great! Go follow us on our main account @kazanfamily and interact us with there!
3. No syscourse allowed.
For the sake of remaining impartial, anyone is welcome to submit an ask to this blog, regardless of their syscourse stance. If that makes you uncomfortable, simply ignore our blog or ask to be blocked. That said, avoid making references to your opinions on the topic, or bringing syscourse to the notes. I don't care which side you're on, this is not the place for it. Just keep it civil and stay in your lane.
Tumblr media
(Flag made by us, using the symbol from the Intra-System Relationships page on Pluralpedia. The colours don't mean anything, we just chose them for aesthetic value.)

Aether Sail MMO/ Treasure Planet MMO
i am a person of many ideas, all of them too much for me to do, so after many years of hoarding my ideas, and without making any progress towards any of them, i have decided to make some of my ideas public, i started with the RPG system that now has a blog that i will probably not post that much, so i ask you to judge this without thinking the scope is too big or whatever, i know all of that all too painfully, but i want to interact and maybe if this gets enough popularity i will get a contract or something. if you do decide to make my idea, please get in contact, i can work for you.
so, the basic idea is a MMORPG with Treasure Planet aesthetics and the 70% Victorian and 30% fantastic, the medium is cell phones, and you play with the phone standing upwards and the game should be made to be played with only one hand, both for accessibility and to make it easier to play. so you slide around to walk and tap to interact, if you interact with a enemy you get into attack mode. the combat should be something close to monster hunter but with a tab target system, idk if this could work but it would interact very well with the notion that you can only do one action at any time.
for guilds, one idea that i found somewhere that i don't remember is, that guilds are badly designed because it assumes that people only have one social circle, so my idea is to make it like Discord servers, where you can get into any numbers of servers you want, but you always get into the lowest role, and you can go up on roles if people like you or any criteria people want. you could also have multiple bank accounts per server and lock the bank accounts by roles, so you can really customize who has what money, and even share accounts with other guilds.
for dungeons, i want something like Tarkov with their loot n' scoot system, or extraction looter if you are boring, basically the idea of going in, getting stuff and either backing off to be safe or going farther to get more at the risk of losing everything you got. so its actually a risk and reward game to get better loot, to support that you can create encampment to create better gear, store loot and get out of game bonus.
PvP is optional, but its guild based, so you are in war against any other player that your guilds are enemies with. so it is optional, but its also social. enemy players can steal your items from boxes that otherwise they couldn't access, open doors, even if with some difficulty, and other PvP related stuff. to support that you have guild options that make you not enemies with everyone or be enemies with everyone (except if they have the previous setting activated). idk how overlapping would work, but i think its a good system overall.
for cities i think people should be able to buy terrain and houses, with limits, and create things like shops, also have a way for players to create laws and stuff, so basically player driven bureaucracy, that could be fun if balanced for fun, even if might generate too much conflict and be bad for some players.
crafting is something that i thought some amount of it, and i am thinking chore play, so instead of having placing things in a grid and happening instantly, something closer to Potion Craft, with some real physicality to it to make it satisfying, with a bunch of materials and ways to mix them to make it crunchy and let information on how to make some type of material be a political tool, a new way to interact with other players, so if you have a specific recipe that you got from dismantling a specific weapon.
notes are a way to create notes, you can at any time create a note and put information at it, you can sign them and they keep day and hour of creation or last change, they can work as documents, patterns of drawings like Animal Crossing, work like checks, material recipes to make crafting faster but at the risk of people discovering your recipes, and to give people temporary guild roles or other permissions. you can seal notes with wax and stamp it with a pattern. you can also create coins the same way, but not like the original coin, but side coins, so its really a player driven economy, player created coins need a stamp and a material to be made.
combat is like monster hunter but tab targeted, so you aim at the enemy you tap and get your weapons, and when you tap you attack, if you drag you move, if you slide quickly you can dash or roll depending on the distance and you have a block/parry or secondary attack button, a change weapon button, a change target button and 3 abilities buttons. so the combat is about playing towards the win condition of your weapon and using abilities to create openings or getting a big payoff from openings. the enemies would stun or throw you away with every hit, regardless of damage to make you really change how you play depending on what they do, but if you parry attacks you have a chance to throw the enemy away and if the enemy is really big you need multiple people to parry to push the enemy back.
Hades like dialogue, just add something about a player or tell a myth or something interesting but prioritizing things that are important.
and contest that the players can create to play around with other players, basically create rules for a sport or a arena, ways to allow light hearted conflict between players. be a fight to glory or a fashion show, ways to facilitate that type of stuff.
out of game bonus like World of Warcraft, but you can get better ones if you are in a good city or has a decorated house.
for monetization i would like a premium currency that you can trade with other players for coins only, but you can buy something from the game, but i am not sure what, probably some convenience or fuel for better out of game bonus. i think any form of monetization hurts the game, but this hurts the game less.
ships, with a velocity based on cloth released, and functions like cannon, helm, boarder and engineer, idk if the canons should use ammo or have a cd. we have a radar, that has info about enemies like position, speed, cooldowns, so its worth to keep someone there. idk how to make this exactly, but in Starfinder each spaceship has a number of rooms that it has to be able to hold stuff, so something like that, basically a room for people to sleep, a room for medicine stuff, a room for radars, basically space slots, but the trade off would be speed for size.
i think that's all and i would really like other peoples opinions on this, even just for the fun of talking, and if you see a future for this idea, pls send me a message because we can definitely have a deal. thanks for reading, luv ya.

I'm here to ask you about you Bastard Children of Bones Riley AU before you explode. So, could you please tell me about your AU?
ABSOLUTELY I CAN
So this all started in DMs with Atohi (@/atohii, not actually tagging because I don't want to spam you, my love) who got me into Call of Duty in the first place. It was his special interest and I was like "oh, to show my love for my partner, I should learn more about what he's interested in" you know, as one does. And now it's my special interest, too.
But here's the thing: for my special interests, I create a metric shit ton of OCs. If I have even a vague idea for a character, it's spiralling out of control. This is how Lennie, the all-seeing Irish cryptid Chief of Logistics & Supply officer on the 141's home base, came into being. AND it's how I came up with Cam.
Tumblr media
This is Cameron "Cam" Love Davis. I was using this avatar maker app and trying to make a version of Simon, but this one didn't really have the looks I wanted. So I was like "damn he looks like he could maybe be Simon's baby brother, just not Tommy". And then I was like "okay now wait, we all know Ghost's dad is a bastard who regularly slept around, so what if...?"
So Cam is Ghost's trans baby half-brother who felt his life lacked direction and never met Simon but always felt a connection to him. As far as he's aware, Simon's dead - and innocent of the Riley Murders - and he's following his footsteps into the military trying to make his big brother proud from wherever he's looking down from. And he does! He follows his brother's footsteps all the way to the 141 where Ghost, who doesn't know he had any half-siblings at all, oversees his training.
And so I was telling Atohi about all this and then I went "lmao you know it would be really funny if after the reveal Cam was just like 'yeah there's dozens of us let me add you to the groupchat'" and then I went "wait, what if...?"
So now, I have this au where there's a discord server with 21 people in it and 2 people too young to join, and the server is titled The Bastard Children of Bones Riley (1962-2015, RIH) and they all have the same dad and they all hate him and none of them ever met the Riley brothers even though they all knew they were related. (The youngest kid was born after the massacre, so she never had the chance to meet them.) In some versions of this au, the older ones all met for the first time when they showed up at Bones' grave for desecration purposes. (Most of them also brought flowers for Tommy, Beth, Simon, Joey, and Simon's mom's graves.)
And for Ghosts fans, I made the oldest of the Bastard Children have a mom who was an American tourist and went back to the States and had one Keegan Russ. So Keegan and Simon are half-brothers in this au, and Ghost Team does still exist, they just came into being under different circumstances and haven't interacted with the 141. Yet.
ANYWAYS! Here's the whole list of Bastard Children - with pronouns, place of birth, and birth year - including the pseudonym Cam manages to puppy eyes Ghost into joining under. I have it formatted kind of like what a pinned post in the server might look like.
The Bastard Children of Bones Riley (1962-2015, RIH)
Simon Riley (1988-2015, RIP)
Giles, he/him, Manchester, 1988†
Keegan, he/him, Las Cruces NM, 1989

Thomas Riley (1992-2015, RIP)
Carter, he/they, Manchester, 1992
Ava, she/her, Madrid, 1995
Mary, she/her, Glasgow, 1996
James "Jambo", he/him, Birmingham, 1998
Shauna, she/they, London, 1999
Joy, she/her, London, 1999
Sean, he/him, Belfast, 1999
Danny, he/him, Manchester, 2002
Anise, she/her, Bristol, 2003
Oliver, he/him, Liverpool, 2004
Cam, he/him, Manchester, 2005
Keisha, she/her, Manchester, 2005
Mei, they/them, London, 2006
Victoria, she/her, Manchester, 2007
Avery, they/them, Manchester, 2008
Axel, they/them, Manchester, 2010
Charlotte, she/her, Manchester, 2010
May, she/her, Liverpool, 2011
Rodney, he/him, Manchester, 2011
Mary-Louise, she/her, 2012‡
Kitty, she/her, 2016‡
†"Giles Norman" is the pseudonym Ghost joins the server under.
‡kids under 13 are not part of the server and do not have their location/hometown listed
I've also decided Shauna and Joy are twins and Oliver and Axel have the same mom.
tl;dr: ghost's dad is a WHORE and he has more family than he knows

🪐 Just started season 4 of My Hero Academia and I’m dying to do a ocxcc roleplay at the moment! (At episode 70 of the whole show so far). I’m also more than happy to do a double up. Bonus if both sides take place around the same time and gives our ocs opportunities to interact and all that!
I have two ocs and I’m dying to use either or depending on who you feel most comfortable together. I can play just about any character from seasons 1-3 to the start of season 4 as that’s what I have seen and feel more confident playing characters there!
Here are the characters I’m looking for for either of my ocs. No specific order!
my pro hero/UA teacher oc: Toshinor Yogi (All Might) Shota Aizawa (Eraserhead) Enji Todoroki (Endeavor) don’t kill me for this pookies i have so many ideas cooking for them two
my teen/student oc: Shoto Todoroki Tenya Iida Katsuki Bakugou
Again I’m more than happy to play any character for you. I’d love for us to discuss the story for the roleplay together and I would love if both sides could take place around the same time. I would also love a roleplay partner that would prefer to move to discord and have a server so everything is nicely organized!
Some ideas I’d love to throw in depending differently for each ship: opposites attract, on and off relationship, unplanned pregnancy, following the anime, omegaverse, secret relationship, forced proximity, soulmates. Hell I'm always open for more angsty/dead dove ideas as long as it's discussed 🕊️
These are just ideas! We can discuss more in private. Like and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!

how would you go about finding friends if you didn't have any and can't find a space. either irl or online.
oh hey I can actually answer this one bc that was literally me. I spent like. 10 years being for the most part completely and utterly friendless and disconnected, and at least the last 4-5 years I've been extremely isolated. not gonna go into too much detail but yeah it's really fucking hard to break out of it, I still struggle a lot.
what worked for me might not work for you, but:
for online: what helped me was that I just started Talking. this blog helped a lot, for the first time since being on this site I started consistently posting my thoughts about sonic, and then sometimes people with similar thoughts/interests would interact. and so I would interact back. and it was really scary, but I would comment on other people's stuff too, open conversations that way. it can be really hard but you gotta push yourself to Talk. find a common interest, share your love of something with someone.
I struggle a lot with discord servers, get overwhelmed easy, but if it's something you're interested in then that's always a great place to start! if you like drawing or writing or anything creative, joining one where everyone shares their stuff and talk about it is a really good way to make friends!! its really nice to share your projects with others, and listen to others talk about their own, if that makes sense. sharing the hype! if you don't really create, just enjoy things, the same applies
it can be really hard and uncomfortable and scary but its WORTH it omg
as for irl. I still don't know. only have a small handful of irl friends and I'm pretty sure all of them I met through my sibling and it happened that way. but the actual "becoming friends" way works as above same principles. just finding people is what I don't understand; I'm still stuck in the house 95% of the time
ONCE AGAIN this is just what works for me and also I am like. still incredibly bad at being a good friend take all of this with a grain of salt. godspeed o7

hey! I was wondering if you have any advice at getting stories out there? I’ve started a sideblog to practice some writing and I’d love to get some engagement - I’m not even sure if my posts are showing in the tags I’ve used :/
Ooof, it's rough starting out when no one knows your blog name and you have no idea if your stuff is being seen or if it just hasn't found its audience yet. Hang on in there, Anon!
I'd say maybe have a few stories ready to go, and if you've already posted them, create a masterlist immediately before you lose track of where your stories are (searching for stuff on Tumblr is a lost cause), even if it's only got a few things on it to start with. That way if someone does find your work, they can find more of it immediately. Link it at the bottom of every story too, and on your blog.
Make sure your grammar and formatting is as tight as you can get it. People know quality writing when they come across it, and if it's well written and edited, they're more likely to stay than if it's full of goofy paragraphing, typos, and has a jokey 'lol un-edited' at the start (I'm exaggerating for effect, but I have actually noped out of stuff on AO3 after reading that in the author's notes at the start. If the author doesn't care, why should the reader?).
Speaking of AO3, if you have an account on there, so long as you're not taking money for your writing on here, you can also link to Tumblr from AO3 (if you don't know how to code a link, google it, it's really simple - even I can do it!!) and if people don't have to copy paste a URL, they're probably gonna check it out if they use Tumblr too. Same for other socials - link back to here. Use the audience you may already have somewhere else, but don't spam them.
Interact as your blog's name so that people see your name around the place, because tags suck. (I don't follow any tags, I only follow people, so I'll very rarely come across something 'out in the wild'.) Since you're a sideblog, you can always go anon and then sign off your ask as your sideblog's name.
Be patient. It sucks, but don't expect to get hundreds of notes overnight.
Open your blog to all the prompts and challenges that you're comfortable with. Don't burn yourself out, but if people can engage with you and if they get something out of it too, then they're more likely to reblog your work. That's what I did at the start - I just got people to send me prompts for free stories and I wrote for free, for *exposure*, you might say. (Don't write anything you're not comfortable with, obviously, but be open to new challenges and writing things you maybe hadn't thought of).
Participate in fandom challenges if it's fandom you write for, and look for other writing challenges or events. That can help build a sense of community and might bring you an audience that way.
If you're in a server with people whose opinions you trust, share your work on Discord and maybe ask them for feedback and/or reblogs if they're on Tumblr. Only if you're comfortable with that.
At the end of the day, remember why you're writing though. Notes and responses aren't the be all and end all of creating. Create stuff first because you enjoy creating it, and then share it because you want to share it. Don't give up or get disheartened if you don't get much traffic for a long time, and just keep on sharing anyway. That way, when people do find you, they've got a good backlog to go through as well!
If anyone has any more advice to add to this, please feel free to stick it in the notes!

Tumblr media
Hi! And welcome to my Pizza Tower blog. This is my awesome epic pinned post that will have all of the information you need!
Tumblr media
Let's start with the TAGGING SYSTEM
I always loved themed tags. So. Considering the theme of my blog is televisions... we'll go with that!
PTV News Channel - Any analysis or theory posts I do
Director's Cut - Posts from me that aren't analysis or theories
PTV Arts Channel - Idk if this will ever get used but just in case I post art (or writing) here that I made, here is the tag
Special Guest Episode - Crossovers
Squid Tower - My adventures in Splatoon as Noisette
And all characters are tagged with their names. I also rb Sugary Spire art here too so those will also be tagged as Sugary Spire.
Spoilers will not be tagged. I assume you know spoilers if you follow me, considering this blog is themed on the final boss.
More tags might be added as I think of them!
Tumblr media
Okay now. DNIs. I will block you if you're pro ship, aka the fancy term for "I'm okay with children being in romantic relationships with adults or siblings/cousins being in romantic relationships with each other". I will also block you if you're a terf, homophobic, racist, or anti semitic. So don't follow me, this isn't a place for you.
Tumblr media
I'm going to talk about this here too. Yes, I know about the controversy. But I am still going to interact with this game and enjoy it.
McPig may have said some racist things five years ago, and he put caricatures in the game, but what he's not doing is donating the money he gets to hate groups. He's not using his platform to continue to be racist and to convince people to agree with him. While the apology wasn't perfect, he did say he regretted it instead of ignoring it or confirming that he stayed the same by doubling down on the racist things he had done in the past.
I see people talk about FNAF all the time despite the creator using the funds to donate to republicans. People still love Stranger Things despite its anti semitism. People love Undertale and Deltarune even though Toby Fox has collabed with "problematic" people, was friends with Andrew Hussie, and even has some racist and anti semitic stuff in his games. Hell, even Splatoon has its faults. The only reason PT is so easy to condemn is because it's new, and people love to hate popular things.
Point is- I'm not going to throw away an entire game just because of caricatures in the game. Maybe it's because I'm used to it already being in everything (I watch a lot of old cartoons). Maybe it's because I've experienced far worse hate towards me, my family, and friends irl than a couple of caricatures.
I still think it's bad. I still think it should be changed. And I'm not going to buy any merch or any dlcs unless things in Pizza Tower change.
Sometimes you just have to be uncomfortable. The caricatures in PT should be making you uncomfortable, they are not okay. And I'm not just ignoring them. I'm not going to defend the dev either. There is not an excuse for what he said and did.
And if McPig ends up to still be spouting hate and saying racist stuff and using his fame to spread more hate? Then I'll eat my own words and try to distance myself from the game.
Tumblr media
And with that, let's wrap up this pinned post!
Feel free to send me asks to talk about the characters, I love talking about stuff!
Also my pizza tower discord server is RIGHT HERE! It's small and quiet but we love talking about Pizza Tower.
This is an awkward and abrupt end, but so be it.

You're so right. I feel like at this point everyone just shares the same kinks and brain cell. I just want to be manhandled sometimes, y'know? So what if they're not human?
Growing up, I always thought I was weird for being interested in that kind of stuff. There was a feeling of shame I associated with it. Look at these creatures that are varying degrees of humanoid and my unexplainable attraction to them. I was prepared to die (metaphorically) before letting anyone find out about it.
I definitely felt better about it when the Venom movie came out and suddenly there were all these people who are just like me. Cue to me discovering Predator and falling down that rabbit hole lol.
I totally get the primal play. Like the adrenaline? The blood pumping through your veins as you're running from someone or something? Knowing they could completely overpower you and possibly tear you apart. All that power hanging over you. And you know they could destroy you. Your entire fate lies with them. But instead, it's endless mindblowing pleasure and lots of tender affection. I also adore the concept of prey fighting back, just a little to keep things interesting, before ultimately being put in their place.
Don't even get me started on the mask kink😫
I'm tempted to join the Gremlin Discord but I am incredibly shy and crippled by social awkwardness. Maybe someone can bully me into it?
Have you considered making an 18+ channel (if it doesn't have one already) in the server for all the adults to share their smut ideas and writing? Although I understand if you don't want to risk it as it's not hard to fake your age when making accounts.
-🐄
MOO MOO YOU LISTEN TO ME.
You just described every fucking crumb of thought i own with that primal play description I swear to fucking God. Like the thrill of knowing that they have the capability of destroying you and them teasing you that they just might (enemies to lovers) but then they're so fucking tender despite how nervous you are and they're careful and they hold you like you're a glass treasure. Or when things get intimate, not even sexually but like they just boost that tension and there's the thrill of not knowing what they'll do next, they could fucking destroy you and they love how nervous you are but ito3pwowowow
They would fucking never hurt you.
But the submission just gets them going ya know??
OR LIKE YOU SAID THEM CHASING YOU DOWNSV3O2KWOWOWLW FIGHTING BACK AND JUST BEING FUXKIN PINNED AND TOLD TO BREATHE LIKE BROOOOOO
Ugh join the fucking discord. There's an 18+ channel. If a minor wants to fake their fucking age that's on them, they wanna be traumatised that's on them but if they do that then they can live knowing that I think they're an absolute piece of fucking shit should they break those boundaries on MY channel.
But the minors are pretty good here and understand that in order to make it safe for them to interact they need to work with us.
SO JOIN THE FUCKIN DISCORD BRO THERES NOTHING TO BE NERVOUS ABOUT THERES LIKE 55 OF US TRUST ME YOU WONT BE SINGLED OUT

I stumbled across your tumblr and it prompted me to ask: how are you so unashamed about being proship/shipping rick x morty? I'm 16 years old and I started shipping them when I was 14 and It's my deepest secret. I've always been ashamed by it and thought something was seriously wrong with me, but you have this whole account and even talk to others about it. I'm almost envious.
Honestly, my unashamed-y of my posting of ships, not just rickorty, was a long journey for me.
Its probably because of my bipolar impulsiveness, but when I meet people irl, the first thing I tell them is I ship Rickorty. RnM is my hyperfixation right now, so it's all i can talk about anyway. It's just my way of chasing off any antis I might meet irl.
I am almost TOO unashamed, perhaps lol. Them getting married is my lockscreen.
But I wasn't always like that. I only learned to be open about it thanks to finding out my romantic partner was also secretly proship. Being able to talk to faer about it helped me to realize that there isn't anything wrong with it.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. Finding taboo things interesting is normal. Regardless of whether you use it to cope or just find the dynamic appealing, it doesn't say anything about you as a person. Fiction isnt reality. It often connects to reality in a lot of ways, but they are still seperate planes of existence.
Being openly proship is hard. Right now, my notifications are filled with people arguing on my Simpsons and Family Guy posts. Depending on the fandom, sometimes I can't interact with anyone in it.
I haven't gotten any death threats on this account yet, but I've gotten plenty in the past. Including uncensored gore and racist, homophobic, and transphobic comments.
Sometimes, having a proship account isn't the right thing for a proshipper. I only have one because I've been in a super good place mentally for a while (partly because of RnM).
But that doesn't mean you can't find proship communities! Having a sideblog with asks and everything else turned off just for reblogging art and posts of your problematic ships is a good way to make small connections while avoiding the Antis. If you have a discord, proship servers are all over disboard!
Being in proship communities was *so* relieving for me the first time I did it. You don't have to walk on eggshells anymore.
My DMs are always open if you need someone to talk to (just keep in mind I am 20 lol), and I'd be happy to provide my discord too.
I hope you find people who support you, you deserve more than you probably know.
