Not me making the umpteenth post about this very panel, but, bc I have only so much to go by here ;_; this panel has some funny underlying subtext because at the first glance, this seems like a very normal, very formal conversation between two people who are more or less strangers but--

1.] Break knows her name now?

interesting that Break addresses her as Miss Lottie here, and not little miss (flirty (derogatory)) like in the Sablier arc.

so, my guess is that he really did not know her name then, because he simply followed Oz (eye of the cyclone lmao) hoping to find some Baskervilles targeting him as they did in the Lutwidge. In fact, Oz himself wanted to do the same, put himself out there as bait for the Baskervilles before deciding to venture into Sablier.

(Funny how Break shoots down Oz's idea of meeting the Baskervilles with the excuse that they might be following absolute orders and hence, useless to negotiate with. and then..... proceeds to do the same lol)

Also, in the same chapter, Oz lets slip Zwei's name in their conversation which Break silently registers--

all in all, the most names among the Baskervilles he would have known by the time of Sablier arc is Zwei's.

meaning, after returning from his meet-cute meeting with Lottie, he must have set about trying to find out her name. Since they don't have internet in those times, only way to get information is to manually dig around.

but... of course, that is not possible just like that, right? Break cannot ask around a Baskerville's name without raising a bunch of questions, facing trouble from the Pandora (which is why he even hid the Intention's desire from them), ntm, nobody even knew any of the Baskervilles, much less their names.

Well, nobody except Oz. Oz did get to meet the Baskervilles and see and hear them interacting. during which time, Fang and Doug did call out Lottie's name a bunch of times. so obvs Oz should know her name. however, it's up in the air whether he would remember, rather want to remember the name of the girl who stomped all over his chest?

so this means Break really went that extra mile to manipulate this information out of Oz without rousing his suspicions. Oz is too smart for his own good, mind you. The slightest misstep, he is going to figure out what Break was planning:

and from this panel, it appears he didn't want anyone (including Oz and Gil) to know what he had been planning with the Baskervilles. and now even we, the readers, will never know lol

He must have asked Oz to recount his experiences from Lutwidge for him again and got him to slip up her name, the way Oz did for Zwei. Sneaky, so sneaky!

sooooo, while everyone was busy putting together two and two about the Tragedy of Sablier and whatnot, Break here was trying to squeeze out the name of the girl he met in a dungeon someday before he went fully blind (he was fated to see her just once, he can never see her again.) lmaooo what kind of shoujo manga plot was he playing out here?

2.] Lottie expected to meet him again?

This is a little more obvious but funny (to me) nevertheless. when Break puts his sword at her throat, Lottie doesn't even blink or get startled, merely sighs and goes: oh yeah I was wondering why the hell you didn't show up?

But for some reason I felt you'd show your face here.

So, I don't think she means Break making an appearance at Yura's party. That's way too obvious. Rainsworths, and by extension, Break their important valet, are invited and are going to be present here.

No, this means she had a feeling Break would slip out of there and come out here to have a tête-à-tête with her which is just... ??? How was she so sure? Was she looking forward to it? Waiting for him to write her a letter to her hiding place in Sablier or something? Waiting for him to come there just as her lion knocked down Yura? She wasn't in the least fazed! just goes, oh yeah I was waiting for you >_>

Because logically, Break surely went radio silent the whole of the month(?), right? Owing to his untimely blindness, whatever plans he might have had for her also must have cut off. Unless he got help from another person which he didn't seem to want, esp. not in this case, which, for whatever reason, he wanted to keep a complete secret. And in spite of this radio silence, Lottie doesn't think he was bluffing or stood her up at Sablier. She actually seems quite prepared to meet him here? I wonder how many times she turned the scenario over and over in her mind since they met and parted, and got more irritated what the hell did he mean and if he did mean something, why can't he contact her again?

because, the very first thing she demands of him is an explanation of what he meant by his words at Sablier

and surprisingly, this.... surprises him? at least enough to sheathe his sword and start talking properly to her??? (a huge thing bc Break never gives a straight answer; he is always talking in riddles and annoying everyone on purpose)

First claim: MSP is bad written

Yes, it is. For many reasons. I will elaborate on the main two.

It kind of presents itself as some sort of heir of Bad Buddy, but the comparison is pale to say the least. The main characters don't really have any reasons not to date. They could date in secret from the very start, as soon as they realize they both have feelings for each other, and then come out as an actual couple as soon as the whole music contest is over, or something like that (even waiting for another year until they graduate could be a valid choice tbh). No particular drama needed. They could still go to each other's houses and make out all day in bed while Gun's mom is working, or go out somewhere public without their classmates present and have a real date.

The actual conflict that makes them star-crossed lovers is ridiculous at best. The mere idea that a school club in high school (well, Mattayom actually, but whatever) would have a rule like that is genuinely stupid - like, it's not even 'club members can't date', but 'those who are in this club and going for Hot Wave can't have a faen'. Like, hello? What if I've had a faen before joining this damn club? I'm supposed to break up with them because some idiot thinks that'll make me more focused on singing and playing music? Are you fucking kidding me? I'm only accepting this as something not entirely crazy and fucked up if there's some cultural reference I'm missing behind it (if things really work like that anywhere in Thailand, then apologies, pretend you never read this last complain; but I did look it up on the internet and didn't find anything about it). It'd still sound stupid, but at least it'd make sense. It was something so out of the blue that just felt like the opposite of plot armor: something made entirely just to create an obstacle to the love story of the main guys once their path was clear and they were both sure about their feelings (if that's such an important rule, why didn't it come up sooner? It felt like watching a kids show, where threats gradually become scarier the more our protagonist becomes stronger). Regardless, like I said, it was not that bad for them.

Pat and Pran are star-crossed lovers because the parents they love and admire - and are economically dependent on - hate each other and actively tried to keep them apart, causing trauma and pain on both ends. They can't get rid of them. It's not highschool, it's not a damn music club you'll eventually get out of (soon enough!!!). It's their whole life. It's the people they love the most who are trying to oppose their relationship (not to mention their friends as well, while Tinn and Gun have full support on that regard). They feel guilty, they feel sad, they don't want to have to say goodbye to their fucking families in order to keep their relationship going. This is serious, and complicated - and practical, as money does buy happiness after all. This will last, probably forever, until their parents will finally come around and accept things are the way they are - we see a glint of it happening in the last episode, at least. Compared to this, Gun and Tinn are fine, really. Even a teenager should be able to see that. The writers didn't have to go out of their ways to make comparisons that martyr PatPran's symbols, like having them use the word 'friend' instead of 'boyfriend' as an 'inside joke', or their colors, or anything at all really, only for them to be related to a fucking school club rule.

The secondary couples are bad handled, which is a shame because I was genuinely interested in Sound and Win at first. I even dared to hope - fully aware I was fooling myself, but at least hoping it was going to be a fun road to something interesting and original! - that they would have actually written an aromantic/demiromantic character in this drama, based on what Win says to Sound in episode 10. But then everything that episode was supposed to be a build-up for in terms of their bond just suddenly disappears in the next, when they're somehow in an established relationship already. Great? Would have been nice to see that happening on screen, I guess. I suppose that's what happens when you WASTE so many episodes around only two characters (TinnGun), relegating focus on your secondary couple (I won't even mention the third couple, since there isn't much to say about them tbh) in the last ones, making it rushed and kind of pointless (this also happened with the feud between Tinn and Sound, which never got explained to the viewers for some reason; okay). And they even get an explicit PatPran reference at some point towards the end of the drama, which makes me cry and not in a good way - poor babies, don't worry, we'll all just collectively forget your outfits and cans were even brought up in MPS in the first place.

Second claim: TinnGun are not as healthy as people say they are

I want to be brief with this one, because people are going to hate on me anyway, and I don't feel like writing a whole ass essay on those two. All I have to say is: if this couple had been heterosexual, people would have probably hated it. With how much double standards affect the way people perceive female characters and straight relationships, all those traits that make them state Tinn is a green-flag and a lovable simp would instead have them assert that he's a succubus, that he's not indipendent enough, that he's only obsessed with the guy and doesn't actually love him, and that he doesn't do much in the show other than being the love interest. Usually, when people say these things related to female characters, they're wrong - and just being mysogynistic, hating on any girl who dares to have a cute crush on a guy. Ironically enough, in Tinn's case, they wouldn't even be all that wrong.

Like I said, I don't feel like elaborating much on this issue, unless anon really wants me to - then I'll dive into it in detail in another post. But, like, genuinely, Gun really pissed me off at times, he often takes Tinn for granted (I'm thinking about that one moment where Tinn tells him he's not going to make it to one of their rehearsals and he gets mad about it, as if Tinn hasn't been at his disposal the entire fucking time; that scene really made me feel uncomfortable, because if I were the one who had been so helpful to anyone at all, just for them to treat me like that as soon as I have a problem of my own and can't attend to theirs, I'd be genuinely disappointed; and yes, I know that Gun will later change his attitude, but I feel like there was no weight placed on this matter, as if him finally acknowledging Tinn's struggles and effort wasn't a turning point in their story but more like something optional that just kind of happened), and I feel like their relationship is often unbalanced on many aspects.

I won't elaborate on all the other claims - "he's obsessed with the guy", "he doesn't do much in the show other than being the love interest" -, but I do genuinely believe there should be more dialogue about them in the fandom. I never once read anyone complain about these issues, and I know for a fact they'd have come up immediately had it been a female character in Tinn's place.

My Rating: 4.5/5

Wow, that ending was WILDE. I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading about Auren's journey to embrace her magic and to find out what kind of life she wants. And I adore Slade and how he bolsters her and wants her to succeed. Their relationship is constantly making me smile/tear up. Raven Kennedy excels at that, tbh. Even though Osrik and Rissa had such few chapters in this book, I gobbled up what little we were given. I wish we were given far more than we got with them. I understand this is Auren's story, but god dammit, Raven, you can't just throw that couple at me and not give me just as much with them as you give with Slade and Auren. >.< 

The relationships in this series are one of the things I like most. I love the relationship between Auren and Digby. Honestly, he makes me cry so much. I love how protective he is of her and how they basically adopted each other, and he only stayed in the Sixth Kingdom to protect her. Gruff, grumpy middle-aged men with their sassy rebellious adopted daughters is one of my favorite tropes ever. I even really liked the relationship between Auren and Milly(?). Up until Auren's unfortunate accident, I thought it was so sweet. I love the people who adopt Auren, tbh. It was like she got a wacky hedgewitch grandmother she didn't even know to want. 

Judd and Lu are too cute. I can't tell if their relationship is purely platonic or if they're flirting with one another, but either way, I love their friendship. I hope it stays platonic because seeing a well-written friendship between a man and a woman is always lovely. 

The story about Slade's background breaks my heart. Raven Kennedy sold me on him, tbh. I adore Elore and am so sad about what she had to go through. The parallels in family dynamics between Midas and Slade are fascinating. Midas had an abusive father and was abandoned by his mother. Slade also had an abusive father but had a mother and a younger brother who showed him love and affection. Midas didn't have that, so he grew up hating women and being a general sack of garbage. 

Now, the one thing I have to complain about. The only reason this book doesn't get five stars from me is that I find the dirty talk during the sex scenes to be so cringey. The written sex itself is fine, but any time Slade opens his mouth, I want to crawl out of my skin. Listen, he is the perfect book boyfriend to me 90% of the time, but he's the type of guy where you put your hand over his mouth to shut him up. Honestly, though, he probably would be into that, so...it's okay. I never want him to talk about milking his dick again. Nor do I want him to say that Auren's pussy is quivering ever again like please, for the love of god, Slade. Stop. 

As I said, the ending was WILD. So many loose ends that I need to see tied close. Does Rissa survive? Does Argo? Where does Auren land in Annwyn? Will she cross the Bridge of Temuria back to Orea to find Slade or vice versa? WHAT HAPPENED TO DROLLARD? WHERE'S MAMA RAVINGER? Real talk tho, loved this book. 

Oh, I am very disappointed in Malina for being so STUPID. I was rooting for her back in Glint. I wanted her to win over Midas, I wanted her to kick his ass and steal back her throne, but she really bit the bullet and now basically just started the faerie war like a big dumb idiot. Also, fuck Kaila. I think she's a bad bitch, yes, but how dare she for hurting my wife, Auren, like that. 

And the last thing I've got to say. Isolte...we got beef. If she doesn't die super painfully...I'm going to be very upset.

I mean, I like this trope, it's pretty much the baseline of most fics I read. But you need more tropes for flavour. Admittedly I'm more of an enemies-to-lovers person. Well, no, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. THAT'S where it's at.

However saying that, Dreamling does friends to lovers very, very, very fucking well.

Found Family: +9

GIB. I love all the found family tropes.

Hurt/Comfort: +10

Yesssss. Sucker punch me with angst. I'll thank you for it. Just burrito blanket me with comfort afterwards. I love this trope, especially if the character going Through It is a pathetic little meow meow anyway.

Love Triangle: nope.

Just not really my thing. I've tried a few fics that have done this, and every time it's ended with the author getting hate from readers who wanted a different ending with the other love interest, and the comment sections were just war zones. However that's my experience with the trope, so take it with a pinch of salt.

However, if it's a love triangle that turns poly, I fucking love that shit. Especially if they're all being idiots about it. Rating for that is: +50

Poly, open relationships: +10

The only issue I have with this trope is keeping track of everyone's arms and legs while writing smut lmao. Otherwise, an absolute god-tier trope.

Uhhhhh, idk It really depends on the context for this one. I don't think I'd go searching for a fic like this, but if it's propped up by some other tropes I'd probably read it.

This is a weird one for me. I like pregnancy fics if that's what I set out to read, but generally, if there's an unexpected pregnancy halfway through a story I lose a bit of interest. UNLESS we're working in omegaverse.

No strong feelings on this one tbh.

this book was given to me by a friend for a birthday gift years ago. i didn't get around to finishing it until July this year. i didn't think i had a lot to say about it, but this is the longest review ive made so far :P

the story follows Henry "Monty" Montague, who were born as his father's heir to the family lordship in 1700s England. Monty struggles with himself and his relationship to his abusive father, who expects him to be the perfect son, and so Monty often seeks escape in life’s easy pleasures. The only person he holds dear is his childhood friend Percy, who he is completely in love with. One summer Monty manages to convince his father to sponsor a Grand Tour around Europe. Monty is excited to spend time with Percy, while Percy is happy to be distracted from the troubles in his life. Oh, and Monty’s sister Felicity is there as well.

this book was lovely! i feel like if i had read this book when i was younger i would have completely lost my mind about it, but alas i am now an old judgemental grandma and so there were some things that didn't impress me too much, which ill speak a little about, but all in all it was a fun book, with the my fav kind of main character (V Chaotic Bisexual) and some fun adventures and interesting plotpoints. i might have gone into it thinking it was a different kind of story (mostly historical and a little vague pinning towards Percy - that's not what we got) but that's on me and tbh you'll never hear me complaining that stuff's too focused on the romance. though i feel like they tried at one point to justify everything with some sort of explainy science, which just made things a little silly in my opinion. the relationship between Monty and Percy was Very cute and there were moments that were super satisfying and lovely to read. however some things that were being said and done that just didn't sit right with me. it's hard to explain properly, since i see where Percy comes from and if this was real life i wouldn't fault him for flipping his shit over Monty's stupid antics, but this is a romance book. And i couldn't help but feel like maybe Percy were being a bit unfairly cruel and mistrusting of Monty in some parts of his points during their arguments. Monty deserved to be called out for his actions but he's also a person who are in an abused living situation and his bad way of behaving were his own way of surviving. it needs to be addressed, and i'm glad it was, but i think it needed to be done with more thought, than just Percy saying cruel untrue things to him. these idiot boys and their horrible communication skills.....

But here he is, proposing we run away together with nothing but each other like some sort of star-crossed pair in a broadside ballet, and while my heart is ready to burst for loving him, love is not a thing you can survive on." idk i do love them both and them growing to figuring out how to open up about their feelings to each other and trust each other were lovely to experience, but i also were kinda more on Monty's side on most of the arguments and i really don't think he deserved That Much shit, like he fucked up a lot but he did it sexily and handsomely so i for one forgive and forget easily. at the end when Percy apologise and Monty tells him he doesn't have anything to be sorry for i sat there like :/ he does tho... honestly i shipped Monty more with the pirate captain Scipio they befriend than with Percy. Scipio, despite his weird name and occupation, were so nice to Monty and so encouraging for him to be a better person AS WELL AS being true to himself. I read The Gentlemans Guide to Getting Lucky (won't be making a whole review on that...) and in that Mackenzi Lee specified that Monty apparently thought of Scipio as a father figure. that shouldn't be a surprise reveal i think, like that should be made obvious through dialog in the actual book.

also "abso-bloody-lutely" is used several times amd doesn't make any sense and brought me completely out of it i hate it

i didn’t dislike this book, i found the romance-y bits absolutely adorable, and Monty is my all time fav kind of character. Mackenzi Lee manages to bring the reader along a crazy adventure around the beautiful places of Europe with amazing characters and with a brilliant sense of humor. and that is why i have bought the second book, that’s Felicity’s story (helps that it's wlw), and ill get around to reading that at some point. i know there’s a third book following the Goblin as well, but we’ll see how i feel about the second book.

they were not expecting you to be this good. almost everything in your technique was polished, your tema work was remarkable and god bless your ability to read the blockers.

but there was a moment when they just saw the panoramic view of your skills. atsumu could see your tired expression, the sweat on your body, he just knew you were feeling now the adrenaline of the last moments of the set.

Hey Supergirl fandom, specifically like the Season 1 Supergirl Fandom who knows what General Danvers is, I have a question.

Am I the only one that looked at General Danvers, and then looked at Dansen, and then decided General Dansen would be a cool thing?

Like give me two idiots who were all lined up to be star crossed but somehow they beat the odds and they're both kind of a mess about it. Then they get introduced to this nice lady qualified to help with all that psychological shit who as a sister to one of their inner circle is the perfect candidate to bring into the fold and talk out their complicated history with. And everyone is super proud of them when they start regularly seeing this woman. Right up until they realise they aren't seeing her professionally. Some-Fucking-How they're just seeing her, and instead of her being their therapist and a stabilising force you've suddenly got a 3rd woman who would fight all of creation and make the devil beg in order to protect her loved ones. Kelly is still a stabilising force but she isn't there to be their live in shrink. Everyone is happy they are all happy but they're also just a tiny bit scared.

Or give me two women who put in the work and chose each other and want to be each others rock and then this shattered Kryptonian comes back from the dead and everything is turned on its head except its also not. Everyone is sure it should be a blow up and instead it's closer to the moment they decided to take Esme home (by comparison not sure that should have already happened/be happening at same time, maybe just leave for later but could be fun mixed in anywhere tbh). They just hang out waiting while the Astra pulls herself back together and figures out who she is now, and of course they help along the way, and once Astra is ready they make the offer and its basically a forgone conclusion since she practically lives with them so that she and Kara don't smother one another.

Fuck, give me Kelly finding a weird and intense lost lady when she's living her pre National City life and just taking her in like a stray cat because she wants to help but Astra freaks at the mention of authorities and Kelly just has a vibe. And so by the time she moves to NC for work her and Astra are a Thing kinda on the DL cause Kelly's family still think she's grieving her soldier (which she is but she's not refusing to live her life because of it, but doesn't want people to take it the wrong way, and also how do you explain your gf is an alien fugitive?). They've talked over a million times the fact that Astra should reconnect with Kara sometime and Kelly was already facing the possibility of needing to move out west for work. James gets shot and everything just accelerates. Suddenly they're in an emergency room in NC and Kelly goes full Army mode shutting down the panicked reaction to Astra (she wasn't gonna let Kelly go alone) to get info about James. She sends Kara and Astra to get coffee and then just falls into a chair across from Alex once she has her facts. She sees how Alex watches Astra like its painful but like there is no where else she could look and decides interrogating that look is a better use of her time than catastrophising over what is happening to James. And so it begins.

Home Sweet Home.

Exiting the train station, you exhaled a deep breath and took in your surroundings. Most importantly, the huge sign that had “WELCOME TO CENTRAL CITY” scrawled across the board.

After the events of the day, you’d decided that the best course of action would be to make your way to this Earth’s Central City.

You’d figured they had to have a Star Labs which you knew would hold the necessary equipment you needed to fix the extrapolator or at least the communication function so you could contact Cisco.

Luckily, whilst on your journey, you’d managed to hack into the train’s wireless computer so you could then erase the museum’s security footage from your phone. The footage of your fight with the robbers was the last thing you needed getting out.

Hailing a cab, you made your way to Star Labs, having pocketed one of the maps that detailed the route to the facility from the train station.

In little over 20 minutes, you had arrived. Paying the driver with what little cash you had left, you craned your neck to look up at this Earth’s Star Labs.

It was different to the one back home. Yes, it was modelled fairly similarly but this had a more...robotic feeling and was definitely a lot darker than yours.

Though you supposed that was because this Star Labs seemed to be more full, several employees walking in and out of the building.

Whereas the Star Labs back home, whilst full of technology, was only home to Team Flash and no one else. The risk far too great for ordinary people to see what you were doing.

Entering the building, you quickly donned a white lab coat and went in search for the equipment you needed to fix the breach device.

Finding a secure room, you put on your mask and used your powers to open the door.

As you walked in, you let out a small gasp. The room was larger than you’d expected; filled to the brim with computers and screens all hooked up to one another. Making your way to one of the larger ones, you began writing a line of code. Then you took out the extrapolator, placing it on the table and grabbed some tools that were on the desk.

You started to mend the broken device, remaining careful and alert incase someone was going to catch you. You were about halfway through when you felt a familiar rush of air and found yourself in an unknown area.

Not unlike Star Labs, it was filled with computers and the like but also held training equipment in the far side of the room. Then you felt yourself tied to the back of a chair, staring up at a group of men.

You recognised most of them, except the one that could only be described as a half-man, half-cyborg hybrid.

“Oh fuck.” You murmured to yourself.

This was all you needed.

To be captured by none other than Batman, Superman and the Flash.

“Yes, indeed. Who are you?” Superman asked, his arms crossed over his chest.

You narrowed your brows, analysing each of their outfits. This Earth’s Superman outfit was different to the one back home. Batman, you’d never really met before so you couldn’t comment.

But the most interesting was the Flash’s outfit.

It appeared to be made up of metallic materials whereas Barry’s was made out of intense heat-resistant and abrasion resistant polymer and some other stuff that Cisco had explained to you that you didn’t take note of.

“More importantly, where are you from?”

You heard a familiar voice say behind you.

You turned your body, as best you could since you were confined to a chair, and felt your jaw drop at the female who stood before you.

Not only was she the woman you’d met earlier at the museum but she was freaking Wonder Woman!

“Holy shit. Cisco is going to be so jealous he didn’t come here.”

“Who’s Cisco? And where did you come from?”

Not giving you time to answer, the brunette continued, “I saw you earlier at the Metropolis museum. You told me about the criminals.”

“We tried to pull the security footage but it had mysteriously been erased.” The man you nicknamed Cyborg said. “Why were you at Star Labs?” He asked.

“You know. You gotta let a girl answer before you continue asking questions.” You joked.

“This isn’t a joke. Tell us who you are.” Batman spoke for the first time, his voice coming out hoarse and rough. Probably from a voice distorter.

“I will. As soon as you untie me.”

When the five of them stared at you, you sighed.

“Guess I’ll do it myself then.”

With a flick of your fingers, the ropes that bound you came loose and you stood to face the group.

They immediately went into fighting stances, ready to take you down if need be.

“Oh, for God’s sake,” you scoffed, “I’m not going to hurt you. I just don’t like being tied up. Unless we’re in the bedroom.” You teased, laughing to yourself.

“You’re a meta.” Wonder Woman commented.

Placing your hand in your pockets, you were about to reply when you felt that they were empty.

“Wait, where the hell is the extrapolator?”

“Oh, you mean this?” The Flash said, holding the device in his hand.

“Give that to me.” You ordered, charging your way to the speedster before Batman stood in your way.

“I don’t think so.”

“Barry, that is not something to play around with. Give me that.” You repeated.

“Wait, how do you know my name?” He paused, everyone’s eyes trained on you.

“It’s a long story. Now please, put down that device.” You sighed when he placed it on the table beside him.

When he put it on the surface, he must have accidentally pressed a button because Cisco’s body popped up like a hologram.

“What on Earth?” You heard Wonder Woman say.

“Y/N! Where the hell are you? Woah, is that Batman?!” Cisco’s voice crackled through the device as the hologram glitched.

“Cisco, the device broke. Can you track what Earth I’m on using the GPS?”

“I can try. But I need you to fix the small chip that’s in the extrapolator first.”

The Cisco hologram glitched out and faded away.

“Shit.” You murmured to yourself.

“What do you mean ‘what Earth’? Who are you?” Batman said.

Sighing, you spoke, “I’m not from this Earth.”

“You’re an alien?” Barry exclaimed.

“What? No! The only alien here is Clark.”

You gestured towards the Man of Steel.

“How do you know who I am? Did Lex send you?”

“Oh, please. As if I’d work with that idiot. Besides, I like his sister much better. As I was saying, I’m from an Earth called Earth Prime.”

Then you gave them all a brief explanation of the rebirth of the Universe and how you’d arrived here.

“Ever heard of Everett’s many-worlds theory? Simply put, this Earth is not the only Earth that exists. I come from a parallel Earth where I work with the Flash and several other heroes, including Supergirl and Batwoman. Though no one’s seen Kate in a while.”

Looking into each of their eyes, you could still see apprehension.

Facing Wonder Woman, you held out your wrist, “Use your lasso of truth and you’ll see I’m not lying.”

“How did you-”

She started before you interrupted her, “Do it and then I’ll explain.”

You watched as she removed the rope from her armour and wrapped one end around your wrist.

Your eyes widened as the rope started to glow a bright yellow, the material feeling warm against your skin.

“What I just said was true. And I know about all of you. Your parallel selves are my family and friends back home. And Wonder Woman-”

“You may call me Diana.” She interjected, flashing you a kind smile.

“And Diana,” you corrected, “you’re somewhat of a Legend where I come from. I visited Themyscira once, it was beautiful.”

“My home is hidden from Man’s world. How did you see it?”

“My sister, Sara, travels through time with her team and when I worked with her for a brief period, my friend, Zari, and I, took Helen of Troy to your island to save her. Anyways, you do exist on my Earth but no one really knows of you.”

Diana stared at you for a few moments, her intense glare making you weak in the knees, if you were being honest.

It was as if she was looking right into your soul.

Whatever she saw must have pleased her because her gaze faltered and she removed the lasso from you.

“She’s telling the truth, guys.”

“Thank you. Now I need to fix the extrapolator or I won’t be able to get home.”

“So that little thing can make anyone travel between worlds?” Cyborg asked.

“Yes, exactly.”

“It’s like one of those damned mother boxes that almost destroyed our world.” Bruce said harshly. “We can’t risk having that here. We need to destroy it.”

“Don’t even think about it.” You spat out, your hands clenched at your sides.

You narrowed your eyes, watching for any indication of movement from the vigilante.

The only warning you had was Bruce’s muscle tensing before he reached for the table that held the device.

In a quick motion, you used your powers to throw the former into a pile of boxes to break his fall.

The playboy rose to his feet and charged at you, ignoring the shouts of his team.

You blocked his punch and deflected his kick. Ducking when he swung his arm, you used all your strength to throw him over you.

He reached into his cape and you flung whatever he was about to hurl at you into the wall. He swiped at your legs, making you stumble to the ground. You picked yourself up and when he ran at you, once more, you used your powers of telekinesis to rise in the air above him.

You extended your hand in front of you and lifted him in the air to face you. He struggled within your hold before you both looked down at Diana who’d shouted.

“Enough! Y/N, put Bruce back on the ground.”

With a crash, Bruce fell to the floor whilst you gracefully landed upright on your feet.

“Bruce, this device isn’t as harmful as the mother boxes. And it is her only way home, we cannot destroy it.”

Diana said calmly as Bruce huffed and murmured a curse.

“Listen, Batboy. I will kick your ass again if you don’t shut up.” You said, meaning every word.

“I’m not trying to be hostile here but I only came here to prove my theory which I’ve clearly done so now I just want to repair the device and go home.”

Walking over to the table, you picked up the extrapolator and inspected it. Your heart dropped when you saw a crack in the chip.

You knew that there was no way to fix the locator.

“Y/N, is everything okay?”

Your voice not strong enough to answer, you shook your head. Clicking the communication button, you saw Cisco’s hologram appear again.

“Y/N, have you fixed the GPS chip yet? Y/N, what’s wrong?” Your friend asked in concern.

“The chip’s broken. Majorly so. I’m going to need to replace it but the only replica of the chip is-”

“Here.” Cisco finished. “Is there a Star Labs near you?”

“Yeah, I went there earlier to fix the damage but there wasn’t any chip. I checked.”

“Okay, I just need to create another extrapolator and then somehow come and get you.”

“Cisco, you know that can take weeks.” You sighed.

“Y/N, it’ll be fine. We’ve been stuck on other Earths before. Including with a telepathic gorilla. I doubt there’s any Earth worse than that.” He said, trying to inject some levity in the conversations.

“You’re right. Look, don’t tell the team. You and I both know that they’ll just worry and I don’t need them telling Sara or Dinah either because they’re too protective. Just lie and say that I was missing Laurel and decided to take a vacation.”

“You got it. Stay safe, y/n. And keep this extrapolator with you so I can speak to you.”

“You got it. Bye, Cisco.”

Once again, the hologram faded away and you hung your head.

Cisco was right.

It was not the first time this had happened and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. You were damned if you’d let this get you down.

Clearing your throat, you straightened and faced the group, having forgotten that they were there for the entire exchange.

“Guess I’m going to be in your hair for a little while longer.”

It had been 3 weeks since the day you’d arrived on this Earth.

Diana had kindly invited you to stay with her whilst you waited for Cisco to arrive. You remained in constant contact with the latter; he wanted to keep you updated on his progress.

You were still on rocky terms with Bruce, him not appreciating you beating him. He was stubborn and irritating but reminded you of Oliver in that regard.

You helped the Flash with his speed, giving him tips on how to manage it and retain his strength which you’d learned from having closely worked with Barry all these years.

You also got on fairly well with Superman and Cyborg and even met Aquaman who tried to hit on you the moment he saw you.

But out of everyone, you’d grown close to the Amazonian warrior. The first night you’d stayed with her, you found yourself talking to her all through the night until the sun had come up.

She had told you about her family back home and you told her about yours. You supposed it was easier to tell her than anyone else since she’d endured so much loss and pain and understood what it was like to be separated from her family.

“Y/N, you ready to go?”

Interrupted from your thoughts, you turned to face the beautiful brunette who had a soft smile painted on her face.

She had asked you to dinner a few days before, telling you she wanted to give you both a relaxing evening. You had graciously, and rather, immediately accepted the invitation.

The truth was that, over these past few weeks, you found yourself hoarding a crush on the Goddess.

You could have disregarded it as a schoolgirl crush but the last time you’d ever felt like this, was when you were with Thea. But that had ended amicably after she found love with Roy.

“Yeah, let’s go.”

After eating outdoors at a small bistro, the two of you strolled down the street. Then your heart skipped a beat when she slid her hand in yours.

Looking up at her, you saw a gleam in eyes as she smiled at you which you reciprocated. You basked in the feel of her hand against yours, her warmth spreading through you.

Then you both jumped when her phone started to trill in her pocket.

“Diana Prince.” She answered her phone, humming in response before disconnecting the call.

“That was Bruce. He needs us at Star Labs. Both of us.”

She answered when you opened your mouth to ask just that. Closing your mouth, you nodded and ducked with her into an alley so you could both fly to the building.

“What is it, Bruce?” Diana asked as the two of you walked into the facility.

“The mainframe’s been going crazy. It’s as if someone’s breaking in here but no one actually is.” Cyborg answered instead.

Running up to the screen, you noticed the flashing alarms on the screen.

“Well, at least you guys have better security than we do.”

Pulling up the schematics of the building, you furrowed your brows at the thermal energy reading.

Parting your lips, ready to voice your confusion, you jumped back when a breach opened up in front of you.

When it closed, it left two people in its wake.

Barry and Sara.

“Y/N, Cisco told us what happened. We’re here to take you home.”

Glancing behind you, your eyes fell on Diana whose eyes flickered between you and your friends.

“God, I’m going to kill Cisco.”

Yes, I try to! The trick is not to let them build up until the inbox looks too daunting lol.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I like happy endings, even if I sometimes put the characters through a lot of shit before they get there. I’ve only written two sad ending fics (both for Shadowhunters) - The Lighthouse on Lightwood Island and The Kingdom by the Sounding Sea.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Like I said, I like happy endings. I think the fics with an ending I was most satisfied with are All Realms of Where and When Beyond (Shadowhunters), lovers be lost (but love shall not) (The Untamed/MDZS), we’ll be carrying each other (The Untamed/MDZS) for some Yunmeng-Jiang sibling feels, our love is a harsh chord (Shadowhunters) and there is a light and it never goes out (Shadowhunters) mainly because I put them through so much shit that they deserved their happy endings.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I don’t really do cross-overs, but I’ve done fics set in a borrowed ‘verse - Supernatural-verse Monsters and Star Trek-verse series inevitable orbits.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yes, but my favourite kink is two idiots catching feelings and falling in love :P Probably the only tropes/kinks I will never ever write are non-con, incest, and stuff that belongs in the toilet.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. Also weird people who will leave comments telling me that they’re going to write a fic exactly like mine (like ??? WHY. Go write your own shit).

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have! I’ve had some fics from all my fandoms translated mainly into Russian and Spanish, and a few in Italian as well. And a couple of podfics (not translation but transformative I guess), and fanart for my fic from some really talented artists, which I always appreciate a lot.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not really? I’m bad at writing with other people.

What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Malec. The first ship I wrote properly for, and I keep coming back to them ❤️

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I am a stubborn asshole and I intend to finish all my WIPs. Haven’t broken my record yet! *touch wood*

What are your writing strengths?

World-building. And a lot of research.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Too much plot getting in the way of my porn. Why is there so much plot and all these action/adventure fighting scenes, this was supposed to be simple?? *cries*

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I had such a hard time when I first started writing for The Untamed and Word of Honour because I hear all the dialogue in my head in Chinese *facepalm* Sometimes I get stuck and I end up having to just write it down in Chinese and translate it later, and sometimes I know the perfect phrase/idiom for something I want to say but it’s in Chinese? Luckily I enjoy translating too, it’s always a good kind of challenge trying to approximate the nuance in a way that isn’t too clumsy in English. 

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Ranma Nibun-no-ichi. This was back when you had to post fic on geocities.  

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

I am proud of most of my fic. I like to challenge myself with new tropes or techniques, and I enjoy writing and researching for them. If I had to choose, I’d pick three. 

All Realms of Where and When Beyond because it was my life for six months and I will always love the world and lore that I built for it.

Lost & Found // 有缘千里来相会 (The Untamed/MDZS) because it was an exploration of the complicated concepts of belonging and family in the framework of my culture and my identity as Chinese diaspora.

And our love is a harsh chord (Shadowhunters) because it was the most structurally complex thing I’ve written. It was basically like a psychological experiment? I used a non-linear narrative to mimic the way that memories come back to us in a non-linear fashion, one thing triggered by another, and the order of the scenes were chosen in a way that sort of mimicked the highs and lows of drug abuse/addiction in the way that a happy scene gets tainted with the dread of the drop that you know is coming. So that was a very fun thing to write and possibly somewhat ambitious, but I think I did pretty well with it!

If someone had told you that a mere night out with the girls would've resulted in you being pinned to the back of the club wall by none other than Lee Juyeon, you would've probably flipped them off and laughed in their face.

How had this all started? One might ask. Well, it all started because of a breakup between your friend and the star quarterback of the school, which prompted her to fall into a downward spiral of tears and the remnants of a broken heart.

In an attempt to lift her spirits, your friend group and decided to go out this particular weekend, in hopes that alcohol would be able to cure her broken heart. So off you went to the club in tight mini dresses and alcohol already running theiugh your veins only to bump into the said group of boys you'd been avoiding in the first place.

Your friend, named Suyeon, had reeled back like a an injured cat, hissing through narrowed eyes, "what is he doing here?" She asks, eyes glinting dangerously, with such ferocity that you grab her arm to tug her back, "don't. Just ignore him."

"Look at him, flirting with every fucking girl that gives him the time of the day," Suyeon spits out, not bothering to ask about the shot your other friend presses into her hands. She downs it in one go, not even wincing at the sting, "it's disgusting."

"Come on," you try tugging her towards the dance floor, adamant to make her forget his presence altogether, "let's go dance."

You're not quite sure how the rest of the night goes, just that at one point Suyeon his making out with another guy -- you guess his name to be Sangyeon, the captain of the football team -- while the rest of your friends tell you that they're going for another round of drinks.

"Having fun?"

You swivel around and almost stumble right into one of your mutual friends. Juyeon's grin is as gorgeous as ever against the disco lights overhead.

Your eyes quickly dart to the side, where your friends are currently screaming at the bar man for "one more shot!" Before swivelling back to him.

"How come you're not surrounded by the ladies?" You ask instead, quirking up a brow in the process.

You see him smirk and electricity zaps through your bones upon realizing how gorgeous he actually is.

Like, drop-dead gorgeous.

His reputation precedes him, of course it does. And ever since you've moved to high school his puberty seemed to have kicked in, causing girls to fall right left and center for him. You knew Juyeon though, knew him like any classmate in middle school did before coming to the conclusion that; he's still the awkward, lanky goofball that you know. Except, with a pretty face.

You've been staring too much, missing his response in the process, "sorry, what did you say?"

"You're not even paying attention to me," he whines through the throbbing music and you let out a laugh at that, nudging his arm, "I am, idiot! I just can't hear in here!"

That's when you feel his hand grasp your own. He tugs you closer, his smirk deepening into a smile. There's a spark in his eyes, "wanna dance then?"

"You flirting with me or something?"

His mouth brushes your ear, "what if I am?"

In retrospect, this is a bad idea. Not only are you all friends, but Juyeon forms part of the group of guys you've been trying to avoid all evening.

But as everything goes with alcohol, you throw safety to the wind and instead, wind your arms around his neck to pull him closer as if it's a challenge that you can't lose.

The heat is palpable between your bodies as you move in sync with the music, well aware of Juyeon's mouth brushing against the side of your cheekbone, the warmth of his hands gripping the sides of your waist as he slowly grinds into you. It makes you gasp and for a split second, you panic that you might have made a fool of yourself.

That is erased howevr, when Juyeon grunts in response.

Fast forward a few minutes later and here you are, pinned to a wall with Juyeon's hands on either side of your head and his heavy breaths caressing your face. Your stomach feels all twisted up in all the good ways and in this particular moment, you completely forget Suyeon, her ex-boyfriend, and everything that surrounds you.

Juyeon moves in closer, lips milimeters from yours. But then he stops, pauses to look into your eyes, "you sure about this?"

Frustration zaps through your nerves, "why? You backing out?"

"No. But I wanna make sure this is what you want," he pauses, and something that ressembles gentleness crosses his face, "I don't want you getting all awkward over it--"

Your hands shoot out, tug the front of his shirt, and you crash your lips to his, cutting off the last of his sentence.

Juyeon groans softly. And then he's kissing you back like his life depends on it. Adrenaline floods your veins and you tug him even closer, fingers carding through his hair as his mouth slants even deeper into yours. His hands drop to your waist and he pulls you close, oh so close that you feel his heat against yours.

You whimper at the contact at the same time his tongue delves out to dance against yours at a pace that makes your head turn, cause your eyes to roll to the back of your head. Tugging onto his hair strands and hearing the vibration of his hum against you sends sparks flying straight down to your toes, prompted even more by the way his lips slide down your neck to nibble onto your skin.

"Juyeon," his name rolls off your lips the moment his throat rumbles with a satisfied growl, and before you can blink he's back to kissing you fervently. It's a kiss full of mouth and teeth and -- god his tongue, it makes your body sing in delight. You swear you've never tasted something this good, this...passionate.

When he pulls back, it's only to come up for some well-needed air. Your eyes lock, dark and hazy and filled with unmistakeable passion.

Your heart flutters up your throat.

"What..." the words trail off, unsteady under his piercing gaze, "why are you looking at me like that?"

In response, his grip on your hips tighten slightly, "I've...been wanting to do that. For a long time now."

Embarrassment flares up through your face, "what?" You splutter.

"I mean it," one of his hands come up to push a stray strand away from your face then, the movement gentle and making your heart melt, "and I don't find it fair not to tell you."

Alarm bells ring in the back of your mind, signalling to you that this is a bad idea and that you will definitely regret this the next day. However, you find it impossibly to pull yourself away from the heat wafting from Juyeon's body, from the amazing smell of man and spice and just mouthwatering sexiness pooling off him.

Warmth pools at the bottom of your stomach. You swallow, hard. Juyeon's eyes never leave your face.

"Say something," he urges through what sounds lime a nervous chuckle.

You do.

You cup the sides of his face and pull him towards you into another searing hot kiss.

Fuck it.
