Yohakihiko's relationships with the Upper Moons

Gyuutarou and Daki:

- yoha always found them disgusting. he doesn't understand why they would merge together like that. they've always been stronger than him together, even if he's pretty much on par with daki in terms of strength. still, wherever daki goes, gyuutarou is sure to follow, and yoha is no match for gyuutarou

- they share a sibling-like relationship on a very loose sense. they share a sire in that douma was the one to turn them into onis (even if yoha had forgotten how exactly that had happened)

- they're siblings who hate each other. yoha detests the idea of siblings; they make his skin crawl and he was never happier than when the combined upper six fell to those ridiculous demon slayers

- but it sure pissed yoha off to learn that gyuutarou and daki had been the first to make ayame bleed

- he's never forgiven them for that

- gyuutarou tolerates yoha bc douma does, but that's about it. he won't greet yoha when they pass each other, and they don't have much contact anyway

- except that time gyuutarou cut yoha for calling them disgusting

- daki adores yoha, but in a really annoying way. she enjoys the fact that she's technically his aneki, and she rubs it in his face any time she can. she stole his mask once and ever since she saw his pretty boy face, she was obsessed. she likes pretty things, after all

Gyokko:

- yoha doesn't care much for gyokko, and upper five feels the same for yoha

- they tend to ignore each other

- yoha does bear a grudge against gyokko for gifting his precious douma-sama that ugly vase. he hates all things to do with art. where possible, he tears it apart with his bare hands

Hantengu:

- yoha scares hantengu, oddly enough. there's something about the way yoha carries himself that makes hantengu's senses grow wary

- probably the fact that even though yoha forgot he was akihiko, he still carries himself like a demon slayer

Akaza:

- akaza cares very little for anyone who respects douma, so he's extremely apathetic about yoha

- this irks yoha to no end. especially since he sees akaza as his mortal nemesis. he doesn't like the way akaza commands douma's attention in the brief moments they meet. he especially hates the way douma-sama always tells him to play nice with akaza-dono

- yoha is still outwardly respectful of akaza, but he's plotted to overthrow akaza from the seat of upper three for the longest time

- it's thanks to akaza that yoha developed his obsession over ayame. it started with wanting to see the demon slayer that was so unremarkable but managed to gain the ire of akaza, but then he took one look at her and decided she was interesting beyond the rage she invoked in akaza

Douma:

- obviously yoha's relationship with douma is screwed up

- he's yoha's sire after all

- yoha thinks douma is fond of him because he was the one who decided he was worthy of becoming an oni

- douma doesn't feel such emotions. he acts like he's fond of yoha, but he's just fascinated by the particular way yoha broke because of his torture. he pokes and prods to see how he can make yoha worse, all under the guise of being a loving sire

- their relationship is seriously messed up. i don't even know how to go into the details

- douma rarely lets yoha out of his sight. (he needs to break yoha every day to feel some form of enjoyment.) he does loan out yoha to do muzan's bidding every now and then

- after all, no one can torture as well as the king of demons

Kokushibou:

- yoha's reaction to kokushibou is utterly fascinating

- he detests upper one with every fibre of his being. it's a revulsion that is written into his very dna, clinging to his skin and carved into his bones

- of course, yoha isn't stupid. he knows he's no match for upper one - he can't even fend off gyuutarou. he does his best to never look at kokushibou should their paths cross

- kokushibou feels nothing for yoha. i'm not sure he ever registered his presence. yoha might as well have been a speck of dust to kokushibou

- after all, for a demon-slayer-turned-oni, he's very dull. he doesn't even remember being a demon slayer

Muzan:

- ah. this is... it's hard to tell.

- yoha is an interesting experiment to muzan. nothing more, nothing less. a demon slayer who successfully turned into an oni but is useless otherwise. his power is unremarkable, and his ambitions are far too big for his body. his mind is in tatters and yet he still marches on

- muzan's decision to bring yoha along with him to okutama was nothing more than a whim. he was curious about how he might react away from douma's influence, but he brought kamado tanjirou and that girl he drags along into his life

- an unsuitable replacement for akaza. that's all yoha ever is to muzan

- of course, if it wasn't for muzan, ayame and yoha wouldn't have met again. he really shouldn't have fed yoha's obsession of ayame. it only ever made things worse for himself

- hindsight is twenty-twenty, eh?

and as for kanae...

- yoha was there was kanae was killed

- or maybe it's better to say that yoha is the reason kanae was killed

- kanae could have survived the fight with upper two. after losing a friend, after seeing the way sanemi retreats into himself after akihiko's death she trains harder than ever

- "i don't want sanemi-san to lose another friend" is what she tells herself, but the truth is that she fears what sanemi will become without her. she kept sanemi afloat after akihiko died, even when she knew it was dangerous to grow too close

- she loved sanemi, the way she loved akihiko. she could never choose. she just never expected fate itself to choose for her

- but obviously when she hears news of upper two on a rampage once more, she cannot stand idly by

- akihiko gave his life to stop upper two once. if kanae can kill him, then maybe she can redeem herself. (she had been to slow to come to akihiko's rescue. the sight of sanemi clutching akihiko's bloodied haori will forever remain ingrained in her brain)

- so she trained hard and could fight upper two to a standstill. she would even survive

- and then akihiko shows up and kanae is thrown off-guard

- then she was stabbed, cold freezing her lungs and causing her body to shut down

"see what becomes of demon slayers?" upper two tittered as akihiko's monstrous gaze landed on her.

utterly blank.

"pathetic," says the oni wearing akihiko's face, and kanae finds herself mourning akihiko all over again

- as shinobu holds her close and tears fill her eyes, she's struck with the cold realisation that, even in the afterlife, she won't meet akihiko

been rewatching s1 of leverage and it really hammers home how down bad hardison has been from the start. and it's not even the stupid flirting and telling parker she looks good in the bridesmaid dress.

when the team first gets together they don't really get parker. eliot calls her crazy about twice per episode, sophie clearly feels bad for her, and nate barely cares for anyone at this point. hardison, by contrast, always engages with her, answers her questions, listens to her concerns about the orphanages in the stork job, explains to her that they're a little more than a team, cheekily adresses her, while in character for the juror #6 job, just to make her smile. yes we all remember how parker stabbed the guy from the stork job with a fork, but also remember that, just moments before, while talking stone-faced to this guy she clearly loathes hardison managed to make her laugh with only a stupid vampire joke mocking the mark's accent. she thinks he's funny! they're in love your honour!!

So, like. This book takes place in the future, right? Around 100 years give or take. One of my favorite things is that at one point, the OT3 is walking around these ruins, and one of them, Othello, finds a working instant camera. He's kinda emotional about it for reasons I cannot disclose lol, but the point is it reminds him of home and he LOVES taking pictures of Everything™️. Especially those two, Lyvrea and Isador, but Isa is always a little annoyed about it because he thinks Othello is trying to make fun of him by taking an unflattering picture and doesn't really get that Othello is actually trying to flirt lmao. The Sophie “this isn’t her stage” reveal. The bait and switch that they meant for Dubenich to know he was being conned. “It’s a walk away job” but none of them do. “So go find some bad guys. Bad guys have money.” It does so much good work to establish what this show and these characters could become without jumping the gun on making them get too close too fast.

Like, the thesis of the episode is Nate’s “You all know what you can do, but I know what you can do together” and it’s such a fantastic way to handle a pilot because it’s all about potential: we understand immediately that these people are already hyper competent, but by the end of the episode we see what they could become together too. It’s about showing you the tentative beginnings of this partnership and all the space it still has to grow.

Help Firas and Nisreen pay their university fees until August 1st!

i had an exchange today with Firas @firasmuhaisenn that brought me to tears.

Firas is a first year medical student, currently studying in Egypt together with his sister Nisreen. they have to struggle through an extremely tough university year, studying for exams, all while the rest of their family is stuck in Gaza. they have lost their beautiful home and their jobs, their livelihoods. his campaign is extremely time sensitive. it has been verified and reblogged by @/90-ghost here their father's factory which was bombed by the occupation used to specialize in construction work. in the future, when it is rebuilt, it could play a crucial role in the reconstruction of Gaza. but because it was reduced to rubble, their father is out of income and cannot possibly help them with their fees.

to make matters worse, they have to pay university fees until August 1st, otherwise they will have to pay a fine and won't be allowed to continue their studies. their university knows of their plight and is not sympathetic to them at all. they are not granted any exception to the rule, not even a time extension. they are treated like every other student even though their family is going through genocide. these siblings are their families last hope, they desperately want to become medical doctors to better aid people in Gaza and they are also responsible for getting their family out of an active war zone. i think most of us would not be able to imagine or even withstand the amount of pressure Firas and Nisreen are under. they need to raise $ 6,000 CAD as a short term goal, to not only pay for both of their university fees but also accounting for the cut gfm takes. so far they have:

Headcanon future scenario (either postcanon or post-the OT3 getting together) where it dawns on Europa that three of the absolutely most major political powerhouses on the continent are allied - something that would normally be a matter for a library's worth of complicated treaties - on the stated basis of "MINE".

No one actually knows what the Agreement is.

The traveling Heterodyne shows drama it up into a dread document written in demon blood on human skin, dripping with oaths so powerful they scorch the eye. Great special effects, fun prop design work, zero expected accuracy.

Quite a lot of people, including the Valois dynasty, try to insist that the Agreement doesn't actually exist. Or sometimes that they know the terms and they're this-and-such (they do not know. Seffie is going to murder someone with their own teeth).

Except it does exist, because the Triumvirate is acting as if it does, and that carries a lot of weight in Europa.

Very observant people and our main cast, however, know it exists, because they've repeatedly seen Agatha and Tarvek and Gil all check a matching notebook they all seem to have, and write stuff in it. (A copy of the notebook got stolen once. The thief discovered it was in three-Sparks-invented-this-for-fun depths of code, and then did not survive.)

What no one knows is that it's the same notebook, triplicated with the same Skifandrian technology that created Zeetha's expressive headband face...

My heart belongs to sanegiyuu and sabigiyuu

Sanegiyuu makes my heart pumped up. Thinking of them gives me energy, I'm excited to explore aus with them where they come to terms with their feelings after misunderstanding each other for so long, most especially Sanemi towards Giyuu. It's funny to think of their shenanigans where Giyuu is clueless and Sanemi is no better. My heart is elated to see them finally get together, become a little more understanding and honest of and to each other. However, it's equally devastating to think of their inevitable fates post-war, but at least they have time to realize their feelings for one another. I relate a lot of songs to them wherever I write them. One of my favorites is "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson (I'm younger, but I love older songs, haha)

Sabigiyuu, on the other hand, gives me that bittersweet feeling of all the "what-ifs" considering their canon past. I love exploring AUs where sabito survives and/or is alive. He may not be as aggressive as Sanemi in dealing with things, but he can be rough and strict too, but I want to believe he has a special soft spot for Giyuu and I will hold that deeply in my heart. I love AUs where he and Giyuu grow up together like best friends and later on Lovers. Best friends to lovers are oftentimes a good foundation in relationships. I love protective Sabito. AUs where Giyuu is just as protective of Sabito because he's afraid of losing anyone else is also close to my heart. They both have "I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven" energy (for me, "Your Guardian Angel" by red Jumpsuit Apparatus is their theme).

Just, I love these both ships and no ship is above the other for me. They make me so enthusiastic yet also so soft and so warm. I even sometimes explore ot3 of them.

I'm glad I love them.
