While I didn't actually have this in-game I found this post of party banter and thought this Gale/Karlach bit went perfectly with my other comic between Karlach and Croissant.

"And you are sure these are edible?"
"Ja. Well, sort of."
"What does 'sort of' mean, Caleb Widogast?"
Here is Shadowgast in the style of Scavengers Reign!
Yes, this is a transparent and blatant attempt to pspspsps my fellow fans of Critical Role into watching this series. The first season is airing now on Netflix as of May 31st. They picked it up after Max did not renew it for a second season, and will decide based on the reception now whether to continue - so I am hoping that lots of people discover the show and love it! The animation studio is Titmouse, who also produces The Legend of Vox Machina.
It's like a Miyazaki-esque Annihilation. Cosmic horror and cosmic wonder in equal and necessary parts. If you like the funky biology parts of Candela Obscura, give this a shot. There is horror. There is humanity. There is hope and connection. There are creatures of all shapes and sizes, including a wonderful amount of tiny idiots, which I have made many compilation posts about. It's a setting where you can envision David Attenborough peacefully narrating a nature documentary about it, but be horrified the same time. Just an absolutely incredible show.

Mind Over Matter
I think it's fucked up that all of the pupils lose their body and/or mind somehow because of Magnificus and his trials. Most of them literally, some metaphorically.

Lily: I mean, small animals are way more vicious. It's because their anger has less space to be bottled up in
Barty: That's ridiculous, give me one example of this
Peter: Wasps
Remus: Spiders
Sirius: Terriers
James: Regulus
Regulus:
Regulus: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?
James: *insert high-pitched girly scream*
James: *turns in to a stag and prances away*

Remus:
Sirius:

Lily: This just proves my hypothesis

Prongsfoot Microfic: Kindred
@prongsfoot-microfic - 2/28 - 237 words

“That’s not fair, they can read each other’s minds!” Peter complained when Sirius figured out James’ pictionary clue from nothing more than a circle with an arrow pointing into it. “They shouldn’t be allowed to be on a team together. How could anyone get ‘Captain’ from that?”
“I can’t read his mind, I’m just better than you are at this game” Sirius said, cocky from their seventh consecutive victory.
“We are simply kindred spirits,” James agreed, a wide grin across his face, “who know each other very well.”
“Bloody cheaters is what you are,” Peter muttered, still sounding irritated. Remus, his partner, was just sitting next to him on the couch looking entertained. He, at least, had gotten used to losing ages ago. From the first evenings they’d started playing, really.
“We simply work well together,” James said. He didn’t sound like he was taunting - his tone was friendly - but Peter still took offense to it.
“Then partner with me next time and Padfoot can go with Moony. It’ll be a more even match up.”
Remus laughed, which brought all of their attention to him.
“Oh come on, Pete, that’s never going to happen,” Remus said, “They’re going to be a team in every game we play them. You simply have to get used to it.”
James and Sirius grinned at each other madly because Remus was right. They were a team until the end of time.

speaking of women in the death eaters, I always got the sense that it was a highly male-dominated group. the OG death eaters we see in slughorn's memory is very much a boy's club and the vast majority of known death eaters are male. there are two named women: bellatrix and alecto carrow. I definitely don't think women were barred from joining at all, it's just that there weren't many of them and typically they weren't high-ranking or inner circle. narcissa is obviously a sympathiser and aligned with the death eaters, but she's very much the wife of rather than being a death eater herself. I imagine this was common among the inner circle, and it makes sense with the DEs being a group that upholds conservative ideals.
alecto (and her brother) don't seem like high-ranking DEs to me. they weren't named personally by Voldemort at the graveyard, if they were there, and they never went to azkaban. I think their posting at Hogwarts might have had more to do with the fact that they weren't publicly known as death eaters at the time. also their dialogue reads as more working-class (i can't see lucius saying "skint" for instance lol) so they just aren't really inner circle material even though they have dark marks. they're foot soldiers.
bellatrix is THE exception, and I think this is important to her character. She wasn't content being a wife of like her sister, and I think she distinguished herself among the inner circle because of her talent, unwavering loyalty, closeness to voldemort, and the general terrifyingness of her. bellatrix is a much more significant and influential death eater than her husband, because she made it that way. snape, a half-blood who was skint himself, eventually became a trusted death eater for much the same reasons.

We don't talk enough about what a painfully small chance Prince Justin had against the Witch of The Waste, a literal magic holder. There was particularly no chance he could do anything to her, no matter how strong he was. There was a huge chance he would just get himself killed. But he did it anyway, hoping it would lead him to Wizard Suliman.
He knew it was connected to the Wastes. He argued about how he the King shouldn't have let Ben do anything there in the first place, argued to the point he wouldn't even listen anymore, just do whatever he needs and go away.
He bought way more than one searching spell to find him — a dozens from Howl, at least two from Lettie and ms. Fairfax. And he didn't stop until he found something that looked the most right, even though it still missed. Everyone, almost everyone including his own brother and Ben's mentor believed his was long dead at this point, but Justin still spend loads of money and power at the really smart chance he could find him. He was searching for months.
He had to go there himself, clearly, without any additional help from the Royal, because no one believed him — because Howl mentioned that Suliman might be alive along the lines and that made things worse. He went to this scary place miles away from Kingsbury, the spells were leading him the wrong way and the Witch had to use her own magic to show him the right one, but he still knew where he was going.
The Witch used Ben as a bait to lure Justin right to her hands — the exact same strategy she used with Sophie to lure Howl — and it worked perfectly, to the point when ever King himself acknowledged this?
The fact that the first time they actually became separate people and saw each other aftee all this horror with dogs and servants, they were smiling at each other, shaking hand and basically hugging?
The fact that Ben was almost able to recognise Justin, saying he "reminds him of someone he knows" without a doubt, — the same way Midnight were able to recognise something familiar in gennie's bottle — even though the Prince was under a spell and the room was in a horrible haos?
And you're telling me the only fanfiction there is about them is mine?
