I can't explain it, but Batman needs to be mythologized. In Gotham, that is.

Logically, they know he's just a man, made of skin and bones and blood, like all of them. Those who met him, who had the ill luck to, say he feels like the city itself.

When danger approaches, with the click of a gun or hiss of a knife, it’s not the police people pray to. There's a single name that rivals Gotham‘s, and it’s not them.

So much so, there's whispers of what might happen, about guidelines being stepped. Kinda like how if you're compared to Aphrodite, you might die.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I actually do like the way the whole “oh yeah, sometimes Jedi fuck” stuff is presented in recent books, because of course, the emphasis on it being a personal, individual choice, but also the implication that many Jedi do not fuck. Not because sex is forbidden or shame-based in the culture, but because within the Order, people more often choose not to, to the point that the footnote mention of “oh, but some do” needs to exist in current canon. 

It’s a society of communal living. Everyone pitches in on everything from childrearing to food growing to medicine, regardless of interpersonal relationships. Titles like father or wife that tie reproductive/family cycles to lifetime connections or property don’t exist. I love the idea of many Jedi choosing celibacy happily, and the Temple being a great place to live a lifestyle where your connection to others are expressly not dictated by a romantic or sexual relationship. And the inherent, platonic intimacy of a psychically-connected community. I really love thinking about it.

would you guys believe me if i told you that someone came onto My Fanfic. Mine. Written By Me. and did not comment on the actual content of the fic that i poured my heart and soul into but yelled at me for using tags that were funny. you know. like the ones that get posted on this blog. the ones that get submitted and posted on my blog which is dedicated to Funny Ao3 Tags. can we believe that this happened to me of all people because i am still in shock.

there’s no harm in using funny ao3 tags as long as you’re actually Also tagging the whole thing correctly (which i did). and there’s also this great phenomenon called Don’t Click On Something You Don’t Like. also. while we’re at it. don’t leave comments on people’s fanfic if you’re going to be mean. this is basic fanfic etiquette.

“No, I don’t need to ‘move on’”

Danny is staying in a shitty, run-down apartment in Gotham with Sam and Tucker, having been forced to flee from Amity Park due to the GIW.

An apartment that happens to share a building with one of Jason’s safe houses (or some family he checks on fairly often, or etc). So while Jason may not be like, close friends with the trio, he does know that they exist.

Then a rogue attack takes the lives of Sam and Tucker, and Jason notices how badly Danny seems to be taking the loss. He catches glimpses through the window of the younger boy still setting three plates at the table, holding conversations with thin air, and even talking about the others in the present tense as if they were still around.

Jason’s no therapist, but he knows that level of denial can’t be healthy.

So he asks the other Bats for advice in how to get through to the kid. Gotham’s mental health resources may be… lacking, but there has to be something they can do to help Danny process his losses and recover.

…what Jason doesn’t know is that Danny doesn’t need to. Sam and Tucker did die, yes, but they very much aren’t gone. They’re ghosts. It’s just that most people—Jason included—can’t see ghosts outside of ectoplasm-rich areas unless they were born with the special ability to do so.
