Someone (@ang3l0fde4th4ndd0gs, thank you soooo much for letting me write this, I had so much fun with it) mentioned the marauders as Minecraft YouTubers, and… why does it work so well??? Also, Peter doesn’t exist in this one (at least he’s not in their Minecraft world) because I said so, sorry to the Peter apologists out there.

Like Remus 100% is a redstone guy, he loves learning how to make the game more efficient. I also think he found the game by accident. He was doom-scrolling YouTube one night, and he saw this video of a guy explaining the basics of the game. Intrigued, he downloaded it to see what was up, and oh, he found out. His gamertag is definitely “moony” like be so fr, he didn’t have the energy to be clever, and it’s not like he made his account expecting to become some famous YouTuber or anything. Very quickly, Remus found ways to improve the game, and he felt the need to show people his discoveries. So, he started his career by posting these short videos on how to automate a chicken farm or something, and it just spiraled from there. People start watching his videos about his new ideas, like mob farms or like elevators (before bubble elevators were a thing), and they just fall in love. Oh! He definitely has a feral fan base (all the boys do), there’s just something about his nerdy vibe that gets the girlies going crazy even though they don’t know what he looks like. Because Remus would not have a face cam, he’s really big on his privacy, obviously (he knows about the dangers of the internet), but it’s also his insecurities getting to him. He’s scared that he’ll spook his fans away if they saw his scars, so he actively avoids any comments about how he looks irl. we also know how fans react to a faceless youtuber, they loveee to fantasize about what he looks like, amd like his voicve doesnt help at all (I mean it's so dreamy). every ine is still really supportive of his choice t be faceless, there have been a few who tried to find his identity but the overprotective og fans shut that down pretty quickly. Also also, speaking of looks, his skin is definitely a werewolf head wearing a jumper and jeans, Sirius and James spent a whole day at the computer designing the skin for him (this is before they joined the game, they’re were just so proud of their moony for doing this and wanted to support him the best they could) and Remus didn’t have it in him to change it (especially when they were practically buzzing with excitement to show him). 

Now, as for Sirius, I feel like he would be the builder of the group. I imagine him walking by Remus on the computer one day and seeing the catastrophe that was his world, and like having to fix it. That’s actually how he was introduced to YouTube. Remus was filming a video at the time, and his mic caught Sirius’s rant about color schemes and attention to detail, so when the video came out, Remus's fans begged to get more content with this new personality. It took some time for Sirius to actually start making videos; he wanted to learn how the game worked first (I mean, he wouldn’t want to embarrass himself in front of thousands of people). But once Sirius figured out the controls and the majority of the basics, he made his first real appearance on Remus’s channel. The video was a normal Moony video, just somewhere in the middle of explaining how he got the idea for a piston door and him explaining how he built it, in came this emo character (I’m thinking 2012 emo hair, band tee with a paw print, and ripped black jeans) named “padfoot” (Remus was already moony so he might as well have stuck with the theme). He wasn’t really in the video. Remus only made a passing comment on how “pads did promise to make the world pretty for you guys, you should check it out,” and everyone was hooked. It didn’t take that long for people to find his channel, starting with Remus’s fans who were happy for more content, but he did start gaining his own audience, too. People were definitely attracted to Sirius’s attitude (especially when he would grumble about his neighbor's advice experiments ruining his aesthetic) and his building style. I think Sirius tried to stay faceless as long as possible, but at some point, Sirius couldn't take it anymore, so he made a public insta (making sure to keep Remus out of it, he respects his friends' privacy) for his fans. Everyone went CRAZY when they saw how hot he was, like the fanfics came at an ungodly speed.

James really only joined the game due to his crazy case of fomo. Multiple days would he be looking for his roommates (because they are definitely roommates in this au) for someone to hang out with, only to walk by Remus’s room to see him on the computer talking to his fans, then to go the Sirius’s room to see the same thing. He spent a week pouting before Sirius and Remus invited him to join their fun. You should have seen the speed James had when he ran to the closest computer and set up an account. And that’s how “Prongs,” the character wearing a red and gold jersey, joined the world, completing the Marauders, which the fans loved to refer to the group as (they heard James refer to them as it in a video, and they were ecstatic to have a name for their favorite group of YouTubers). James, unlike Sirius, started his YouTube journey by learning the game. His first video, titled “You Can’t Hide Minecraft From Me, What is Minecraft?”, involved James running around the world, confused as ever. He cried when he saw a creeper for the first time. Fans loved watching James learn this game with them, it was a great change in pace from his two friends, who (they love and would never complain about) were goated at the game and instead see this himbo sob in a dirt hut. James’s fan base very quickly realized that he was not going to be this evolutionary Minecrafter who would change the game for the better, more than he was the personality hire (their words, not mine) that Remus and Sirius would spend way too much energy keeping alive. James didn't necessarily want to be a faceless YouTuber or show his face, but a few weeks after making his own Insta, Sirius posted a picture with James, and he went with it. After some begging from Sirius and his fans (people went crazy knowing the himbo in Minecraft was also a himbo irl), James went and made a profile for Prongs. He doesn't post much, but he is constantly tagged in posts by Sirius.

Everyone loved the dynamic between the Marauders: they had the brains, the beauty, and James. They tried to stay in Remus's og world as long as possible, but at some point, it couldn't keep up with all the updates, so they had to say goodbye to that one and make a new one. Fans were very upset about the end to this era until they realized they were going to be able to watch the Marauders build a new place from the ground up with all their knowledge. Watching Remus and Sirius combine their collective strengths to make all of James's wacky ideas into the coolest base known to the Minecraft world was so cool. I also feel like the boys avoid creativity like the plague. Remus feels like it's cheating, and the other two listen to him. Sirius will only use it when absolutely necessary, when a build is giving him a hard time and he like has to map it out.

You describing Donnie as a provider will always be so important to me because I think it’s one of the aspects people don’t use whenever they write his character. Genuinely speaking the main thing that I think gets lost in translation is that, beyond his boasting, he’s generally more passive than anything. I think his particular softness is something I kinda mourn the most in certain characterizations, because a lot of times it gets translated as aggressive protectiveness—even though his support is literally just, backline support. And more than that, he seems to enjoy that! He’s most comfortable playing support, he just wants recognition along with it!

(It’s been discussed before but I’ll say again that the odd softening of certain aspects of Raph while sharpening Donnie’s edges is kinda like. The automatic urge to associate caregiving with femininity and being a provider with masculinity. Think it’s important that Raph in particular is still very much a rough-and-tumble teenage boy, who also provides emotional support to his loved ones… alternatively I might be too woke.)

REGARDLESS I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS perhaps i am ALSO that one friend who's too woke,,, this is not a game of house where raph is the mommy and donnie is the daddy and mikey is the kid and leo is the dog (actually that one might be true mb), i think its an oversimplification of their dynamic and it also gives disservice to raph who i WOULD argue is kind of canonically their father figure more than he's being given credit for. i do not mind making him feminine all (or transfem! transfem raph rocks) but i do feel like some of it stems from a kind of misogynistic perspective of him. i like that he does fr have eldest daughter syndrome while also having a pretty masculine personality ngl

i also think it shaves down some of his really interesting flaws,,, raph will occasionally be over-appeasing when he's genuinely scared of hurting people's feelings, but he can also be callous and shortsighted especially because he's a little emotionally imperceptive. he kind of stumbles when things get more emotionally complex, especially if he feels pressured to do something about it. raph generally lashes out or gets upset if he cant appease everyone (like he will actually yell or freak out this happens SO much), there's a lot of evidence for this lol. this is a big reason him and leo have a relationship that can get really rocky, they get along great when they work together but leo is extremely socially clever and perceptive, he can run circles around him and raph's solution to things is literally Smashing so he'll usually just get mad at him. he also actually shouts at them quite a bit and even whacks them a few times (and DOES try to get into a fistfight with leo in the movie are we forgetting this) like cmaaaan

^^^ raph isnt low empathy like donnie is but i DO like that he kind of sucks at reading people, especially if he's built up this idea of how they SHOULD feel, because i do think that is a very neurodivergent trait to have. my autistic/anxiety king

WITH DONNIE THOUGH!! i think its your words not mine but like. he IS already protective in canon, this isnt something that needs to be dragged into the light or played up because i would argue that donnie is an extremely protective person, i just think its a misread to treat him like he's overbearing or even like,,,, extremely nosy? if anyone's gonna get up in your business and make it all about him its gonna be mikey imo

^^ i dont mind people exploring the potential of that kind of side of him, especially because i could see stress breaking him into that kind of person, but donnie being pretty passive is one of my favorite things about him. he's built to be a follower and he likes it that way, and i think that's really evident in the way that he desperately seeks out praise for his inventions. jokes about being self-centered aside, he does it for THEM. this is way of saying he loves them, of keeping them safe. every time he jumps in front of mikey in the movie he is TERRIFIED. donnie is not an angry person in combat. literally never has been. he's either manic and gleeful because he knows he's winning or screaming and crying and throwing up because he knows he's losing LMFAOOOO

A/N: guys this is my first time writing for 42 miles 😭 i have no idea how to write for him i’m just bumbling along fr 😞

“¿Cómo diablos…?” (How the hell)

You froze at the familiar voice coming from below you, embarrassment flooding the corners of your brain that weren’t occupied with finding a way out of this mess.

“Hey, Miles,” You tried to greet him by clumsily twisting around to give him a little wave. “This is actually very therapeutic. Wanna join me?”

“Look, ma, you know I love you, but this seems like a next-level dumbass move. How did you manage to get stuck tangled in tinsel on the damn ceiling?” Miles stood with his hands on his hips, eyebrows scrunched together in confusion as he craned his neck up to study the way your limbs were tangled together in the itchy silver decoration.

“It’s not just tinsel. My webs are up here too,” You chuckled awkwardly, watching Miles’ eyebrows skeptically sail up toward his hairline. “And don’t worry. This is, uh… a clever ploy to lull you into a false sense of security and get you to… show affection and loving concern. Yeah, that’s what this is. Stop looking at me like that!”

Miles held his palms up in surrender, the ghost of a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “I assume you don’t need my help, then? I’ll leave you to… whatever you’re doing. Have fun-”

“Nonono wait, please - my arms are starting to hurt,” You gave him a pout and he sighed, already reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket. “Okay, hold still.”

You saw a flash of silver, heard a small ripping noise as the tinsel around your limbs loosened, and blinked in surprise when Miles reached out and caught the blade calmly, the tinsel falling down with it.

You half-dropped down, shooting a web and hanging upside down from the ceiling so your face hovered only inches away from his. Before he could move back, you grabbed the sides of his face, pulling him into a kiss. It barely took a few milliseconds for him to melt completely into it, you noticed with a grin.

The sound of clapping split the still, silent moment wide open. Miles pulled back, his reflexes for loud sounds from being the Prowler kicking in. You turned to glare at the intruders, softening your gaze once you saw who it was.

“Sorry, mate, did we interrupt somethin’?” Hobie, to his credit, was trying his best to squash the broad grin on his face but wasn’t making any progress. Miles - the other Miles - looked mortified, trying in vain to tug at Hobie’s arm to drag him somewhere else.

Miles mouthed I’m so sorry at you, giving up and hiding his face in his hands like he wanted to disappear into the ground. “Not so ‘eartless after all, eh Milo?”

Margo suddenly appeared with a small flash of neon purple light. “Hey, guys, have you seen Gwen? She said she’d come Christmas shopping with me but I can’t find-”

The virtual spider-girl paused to take in the scene in front of her. The moment she made eye contact with (your) Miles, some telepathic message seemed to have passed between them.

“Okay, Hobie, Miles, who’s up for some Gwen-hunting?” At Miles’ exasperated expression, Margo quickly caught herself. “Er, Christmas shopping. But we need to find Gwen first and… you know what I mean. Let’s get going, shall we?”

She shooed both of them past your Miles, practically pushing them out of the room. “Simp.” She whispered to Miles as she passed him, giving him a smug little wave. “You owe me now!”

Miles glowered in her direction, subconsciously fiddling with the end of one of his braids. “Assholes,” He mumbled grumpily under his breath, though the traces of a smile hovered over his lips.

“He says while smiling,” You teased, detaching yourself from the ceiling and dropping onto your feet.

“Should’ve just left you up there.”

my thoughts and ramblings on merdeka (2) [spoilers!!]

CAN I BE SO FR this was my favourite production of the play so far.... the cast are incredibly talented and i really liked the additions of traditional malay and indian dance that weren't there in the original play (or at least, not in the recording i have). the coordination and chemistry of the cast (despite their increased size) during the added choreography in the syed yassin scene where farquhar and company were running around in circles and collectively sniping the temenggong's house, as well as the rani of jhansi regiment marching and flag signalling (semaphore?) scene gave me literal CHILLS.

also on the characterisation of raffles, i deeply enjoyed the played-up machiavellian portrayal of him for comedy here. i think i whispered to my friend "lore-accurate raffles" multiple times during certain scenes LOL it was so damn funny i was trying not to tweak out in my seat everytime the actors pranced around on stage. on the other hand, the real raffles is probably rolling in his grave rn. truly the raffles of all time.

also the way they utilised the stage and props in this one is genius even though all they had to work with was these platform things which they could stack and move around? in chapter 1 during the ritual humiliation scene where raffles and the installed sultan sat together in the palace (narration taken from hannigan's raffles and the british invasion of java!!), the platforms they sat on were stacked high and they were put in a very elevated position as compared to the original play, where they were just sitting on chairs on the ground. thought it was a very clever way of showing how the british constructed and enforced their superiority by literally elevating both the installed sultan and raffles above the the stage. watching this scene IRL was a very sobering and upsetting event like the whole audience was silent and the tension..... holy shit wtf. and in chapter 3 or 4 (?), there was also a bit where raffles and farquhar literally backed the sultan into a corner by moving the platform back into him which was a small thing but i will be thinking about this for the rest of my life...!! AGGHHGH

though i was a bit wary at the way they replaced the plot of the 'raffles must fall' book club with the one about a youth group staging a play for a school festival at first (not because i didn't like the idea, but i was just not used to the change and wondered if they were going to change any other parts of the play) i came to realise that the changes made were a sort of 'modernisation' of the play for 2025 (complete with jokes about DEI and cancel culture) because the original play was made in context of the bicentennial and i suppose it would've felt quite dated. and also they retained the scenes i loved in the original anyway so im good :3

also this is a random thought, but the national service protest scenes eerily made me reflect on the state of modern student protests in singapore. idk if it's just me but like it just feels so impactful that students (students MY AGE) were fighting for a cause they believed in with such conviction. but nowadays, it seems like any protests here are quickly shut down by the authorities as soon as they start (moe lgbtq protest, 'smiley face' guy, nus campus protests for palestine etc.). and it's easy to think that any sort of protest or activism is not worth the legal issues and are ultimately a waste of time and resources, but like. the whole point of protests is having the courage to disrupt the status quo for something you believe in, regardless of the consequences you might face!!! head in hands fr.

(OKAY TIME TO BE NITPICKY (not actual criticism. just things i want to be annoying about) erm ackshually ☝️ farquhar was scottish so i wish he was given a scottish accent, but i think it's really funny how he was given an exaggerated posh english accent instead. the rest of the audience loved it and i can honestly forgive it because i also love making fun of the english accent LMFAO. ALSO i was quite sad that they didn't do the thing where they threw the 'MERDEKA' prints to the audience </3)

BUT overall i fucking loved this play man. so much. kudos to the playwrights and the actors and everyone involved i'm so glad i watched it live (AND MANAGED TO GET FRONT ROW SEATS AHHGHHGHHH). truly the quintessential singaporean play i hope they stage this again every so often 🙏🙏 WILD RICE THEATRE DO YOU HEAR ME. WILD RICE THEATRE.......

Varang pre-movie headcanon

Hello everyone! Every day we get closer to the release of Avatar 3! Ngl I just cannot wait, I wanna see this fire diva in HD full screen! So I had some bit of fun and wrote some headcanon. These are more like fun, silly predictions of how she will be like. I will make a comparison once the movie is out and see how close or how far I was. So enjoy this one!

P.S: I had this done with my good friend @coraline-addams , so some of these are her ideas as well!

Highly manipulative. Like right off the bat, I just KNOW she is gonna be a league of her own in that skill. She gonna be saying shit to not just quaritch but to others and possibly us as the audience. Might make us change our minds about her and warp the perspective into her ideal way. 

Tactical and highly clever. A quick thinker and will have a plan B or an alternative. 

Believes she is superior.  However, she will fight for those in her clan, so long as they follow her orders. 

Holds deep resentment towards Eywa. Will not hear anyone who tries to say otherwise. Hates her so much, she might get really angry and/or lose patience. 

Speaking of, might have mommy issues. 

Total mommy dom. 

Will not bow down to anyone. If anything, they bow down to her. Guess it's another part of her superiority. 

Has a soft but sexy and deadly voice. She is almost like a deceiver. Her voice and looks are contradictory. Harsh and sharp looks yet speaks with delicacy and false sweetness. 

Pegs. 

High stamina. Very high. 

Her hips AINT gonna lie. 

Enjoys a good adrenaline. Riding her creature, ashley. Yes, I am gonna use that name since the creators did. 

Realistically, she might NOT have any form of romantic interests. I get people low key ship her with quaritch but I feel like she would use him like a dog to obey her. Quairtch might develop something but fr varang gon be like “SIKE!” 

BUT if we feed into our delulu then for sure she loves to keep someone all to herself. Won't share. Not even in poly. She has lost so much, and if someone catches her eye, she aint letting go. 

Will be possessive. Protective as fuck. Though, if her partner kills someone, or does a form of torture method, varang will have heart eyes. 

The big spoon. She will fight on that. Na’vi or human, dont matter. Big spoon all the way. 

A nails girly. Have ya seen her concept art? Manicure is at her core. Make sure they are long, sharp, red and sexy. Idc if they are fake, they are high MAINTENANCE! 

Blood is her lube. 

Blood is her coffee, facial cream, juice, her water. 

Loves a good steak. Herbs and spices are rare but will appreciate meat with a good flavor. 

Not picky. She nor the rest of the clan got the that option. Can and will eat anything. 

Ashes is her makeup pallet. Knows how to make smokey eyes live up to its name. 

Lives and breathes in ashes. 

Fire above all, is her light, air, her god. Admires the light, its unpredictable pattern and how destructive it can be. Wouldn't be surprised if she can walk on hot burning coal or a burning ground and would even dance on it like nothing. 

Will accept anyone who is deemed an outsider from the other clans. Believes her clan is the best place for others to seek a home. 

She is gonna hate kiri. 

Despite all that she might be, I feel like she will care for her people. Makes sure they are safe in her own ways. Won't let anyone else die, if they do, she will keep their kuru’s with her. She may be an outcast but I don't think she wants to be alone. 

Aaaaaaaaand that is it! Now for anyone reading this after trailers come out for in the year of 2026 or after, know this is written BEFORE December 2025.

I just wanted write this and think what varang could be like given what little information we have of her. I know its going to change once the movie is out. And, once it does, im going back to this and see what is right, wrong, far or close in any of it.

@silverhart-makes-art (link to post here) gives us these Definitely Mammals that are rather difficult to classify. I always enjoy this effect of "it doesn't really look like anything, but it looks like it would fit in as a reasonable animal design." There's substantial additional information about these critters in the linked post.

@coolest-capybara (link to post here) has drawn something delightfully bizarre, and I really enjoy both the design and style here. Again you may find additional information in the linked post.

@citrvsdrake (link to post here) was inspired by the description of the Gerzlaem pulling food back out of its stomach -- apparently this is a frog behavior, so we have the very frog-like feline you see before you. That is an unsettling face to have staring at you, but it is a clever decision I think.

@cheapsweets (link to post here) has decided to draw all three types of Gerzlaem even though the entry only actually describes two of them -- they propose that the third type is just intermediate between the other two. I also need to acknowledge the "scorpion" in the back there; excellent. For a detailed explanation of this image, please see the linked post.

@pomrania (link to post here) has doodled various elements of the entry for us here, and seems to have settled on a canine interpretation. I'm... fascinated by what's going on with that ape there. Some of these are very expressive too. More about all of these in the linked post.

@wendievergreen (link to post here) posits that the three different types of Gerzlaem are the same animal in different seasons, and has drawn this goat/cougar creature in various stages of wooliness. I think this is a good idea, and the art style is pleasant. You can get more information from the linked post, though an explanation for the song lyrics is not included.

@strixcattus (link to post here) has drawn us some dog-like critters which I can't type too much about because I saw their post right after I posted this one and now I'm hurriedly editing. As usual, there's a naturalist-style description in the linked post that I recommend checking out. Good dog-things here all around.

Now, to the Aberdeen Bestiary...

...actually we don't have a picture for this one. And it's not a missing or damaged page this time -- there isn't an illustration for this one in the Ashmole Bestiary either. It's the first entry in the bestiary, and I guess the fancy initials used up too much of the illumination budget:

Of course, this is a long entry, so they could have put the illustration on the next page, but I don't want to backseat-scribe here. Here's the one from MS Bodley 764, though, so we can see what it looks like:

Yep, that's a lion all right.

The lion is typically the first entry because it has that "king of beasts" reputation -- bestiary authors and others in the intellectual tradition of the time took the idea of some sort of animal hierarchy seriously and made sure the lion got pride of place. I think it's a Great Chain of Being thing, but honestly I just haven't done enough research on that whole concept to speak on it in an informed manner.

A lot of the rest of the entry is allegory, but some of it seems to just be nonsense of its own tradition. I suppose the lion's tail does look something like a brush, so I can see the steps there, but most of it I could not explain. This includes what exactly this thing is supposed to be:

On the topic of the drawing's of Viktor as a wizard. I bet he also written about him. Plus knowing Jayce, he defenitly has drawings/writtings of Viktor that are more 'for antonomy research' than others

FR though, this is actually fairly similar to the plot (term used incredibly loosely) of my fic Dream of You. I’m frankly obsessed with the idea of Jayce keeping a whole ass Machine-Herald-Only journal, where he writes down every minutiae he observes when it comes to Viktor, down to the most intimate of details. It’s not meant for anyone’s eyes but his, so he doesn’t shy away from notations about their sex life—the new, clever ways he’s learning to touch Viktor’s more mechanical parts that can cause biological reactions. Pinching wires, stalling cogs, trapping vents. Viktor is a machine in and of himself, so of course Jayce needs a manual. And he adds to it almost every day.

Fun fact; due to the fact that Volcarona only has four legs, in scientific terms it's technically not a moth, as all moths have six legs. That means it's more akin to that of four legged butterflies, what's even more interesting that the moth it's based of (The Atlas Moth, if giving Alder the last name Atlas was on purpose because of this you're very clever!) also has six legs despite Volcarona being designed with four.

What's even more interesting is that Alder himself is actually named after a moth; The Alder Moth! (Yes that's what it's actually called.) Quite the entomologist that man is isn't he, I don't blame him bug types are cool as hell

posting this here under a cut instead of on r/trans where it probably should be (but i can't stand reddit), in the vague hopes someone can give me some kind of advice.

so my gf is currently transitioning and has basically told me that she doesn't feel like she should be dating anyone while she's experiencing intense gender dysphoria and related depression. she's just started hrt this month but probably won't be able to afford and schedule her surgeries for another couple of months at least. she's also not publicly out (just to friends and family but her family is....not great about it) and i know she's scared to be out because where she currently lives isn't a safe country for trans people (which is like an oxymoron but some places are Worse y'know).

we're still in contact but she's slowly shut down more and more and thinks that she's dragging me down or holding me back from being with someone better (even though i've assured her that's not the case). i've always been super affirming regarding her appearance and that helped initially but it's at a point where she just doesn't believe me and then she feels bad for that. she also completely refuses financial help and says it makes her feel like a burden etc. right now i'm just sending the occasional supportive text, i don't want to smother her, but i do worry she'll cut me off completely out of some misguided idea that i'm better off without her.

i've been educating myself as much as possible on transitioning and dysphoria, i wrote her a list of things she might like to try even just at home like femme outfit ideas, hairstyles, makeup tips etc. things that might give her those more euphoric moments. i've sent her flowers, bought her 'feminine' gifts, talked about braiding her hair, going shopping with her etc. all the stuff i know she's sad she missed out on from being closeted. but it's really hard in a long-distance relationship to help her in a more material way. she won't be able to move until the end of this year at least and i guess i'm scared abt what might happen in that time.

i told her i'm happy to wait, months, or years even, until she feels ready to be with me. it doesn't matter because it feels like i've been waiting my whole life for her, what's a couple of years compared to that. i just don't know what else i can do in the meantime, short of getting on a plane and being there for her irl for a few days or a week at least but she completely shut that idea down and i know she's scared that i'm not going to enjoy being with her in person especially when she hates herself so much right now.

which is ????? to me. she's so sweet and kind and she's said the most insanely romantic things to me, she's clever and funny (my lil comedian fr) and she looks like a fucking model LIKE it's honestly incomprehensible that a girl like this calls herself trash. but at the same time, i know from childhood trauma and years of depression/suicidal ideation how easy it is to hate every part of yourself to the point you wish you were never born. and that makes my heart ache for her so much and makes me wish i could help even more. i just feel like i need direction, am i doing the right things could i be doing more is being here for her enough. i just don't know.

Odessa- The Spy -strong code of morality, clever, intelligent, calculating, a bit cold, morally grey but for good ) she’s flirty like a jungle cat, she’s dangerous and seductive and a little crazy. She’s clever and can talk/act her way through any situation. She feels a lot but doesn’t always know how to say those feelings. She’s a kill first ask questions later kind of person.

Allicent- The Knight -strong “morals”, strategic, adaptable, tends to make decisions based on her and what she deems worthy enough, morally white but for her own gain mostly.) she’s a strong independent girlie. Very outwardly good, does all the right things, but people don’t always like her, they find her /too/ good. Her performative goodness, and her blind rule following are very easy to see.

Aria- The Princess -(good for goodness sake, strong morals, a bit of a coward, quieter) she has lots of opinions and ideas but she doesn’t share them. She’s very much like “I’m not strong enough” or whatever, just living in a victim mentality. But she does want to break out of that she’s just needs the tools(and to grow a back bone jeez)

Natalie- The Villain-(loose morals, extremely smart and plotting all the time, short temper, and zero patience) She’s crazy dawg. That’s all I can tell you. She’s seven steps ahead of everyone. The only one who can sometimes keep up with her is Odessa. She has a loose attachment to the girls but she’s very much in everything for herself.

Perseus- The King -(strategic, wise, kind, understanding, calculating, clever, very strong morals) He’s not a king per se but he acts like one. He’s very strong mentally and physically, he wants to protect the people and the world. But he’s also very rooted in reality and such.

Dominic- The Warrior -(brutal, honest, not as smart as some others in the group. He's very good, he’s the nicest well rounded person here) He’s very down to earth, a steady level hand, very good at fighting with weapons and hand to hand so very good at that strategy, he’s very emotionally intelligent, a bit of a gentle giant. Kind of quiet.

Arthur- The Scribe -(extremely intelligent, tries not to act like he thinks he’s surrounded by idiots, kind of robotic? Strong morals) Very annoyed, he’s kind of like a bitch honestly but also not? He’s got a very strong sense of morality, but he’s like that doesn’t mean I want to be all mushy and soft with you ew get away.

Have you seen Mark Oshiro's AMA a few hours ago?? Apparently the preview is a draft they wrote as an audition of sorts for Rick. No one has guessed...at LEAST the second half of the book's plot yet. Also we're getting both Will & Nico's POV- and apparently Will was the harder character for Mark to write, because Rick seems to have a very specific idea of what he wanted to do with him. Much to think about

Anywayyyyyy----I'm aware of the fact that the preview is a draft now (which is... not quite a clever move btw, but eh). I hope it gets better in the official publication because otherwise, I'd be disheartened. I guess it can't be helped though. It's two authors instead of the usual Rick and try as he may, Mark shouldn't be faulted for their writing style. But again, it's not like I can control my feelings.

Regarding the last half of the book, I'm having huge expectations for it since, ya know, Uncle was being so bold about it. Again, I hope I wouldn't end up with a broken heart.

About Will, so far I have yet to form a coherent, completed image of him due to the lack of canon materials, so I'm pretty pleased to learn that Rick has specific ideas for him.

I'd hold nothing against him if Rick doesn't, btw, not every single character needs a detailed, fully filled-out background sheet for them to work well into the story. And if you ask me, I'm contented with Nico's boyfriend being a secondary character. It probably has something to do with me vs protagonists

With that being said, Will with his distinguished characterization is enthralling just the same. I'm quite curious as to how Rick's gonna build Will - considering the fandom has done an excellent job of it. The fanon Will is like a religion at this point. Many new canon materials turn out to be common in fanon. I'm a little concerned fr the official tbh lolol

It would be extremely disappointing in the unfortunate event that Rick fails, yet if he manages to surprise, I do believe it would be astounding to watch. Let us believe.
