#this movie makes me emotional but especially these opening scenes

I don't think I will ever be over the opening flashback scenes & credits of Black Widow. Every time I watch it, I notice something new and another layer of emotion is peeled back.
The way that Melina comforts Yelena while still trying to mentally prepare her for the inevitable future in the Red Room. Then being vulnerable enough to say she didn't want to go back, trusting Alexei with those forbidden words. Then having to be strong as she watched Natasha's heart and hope shatter. Taking just a moment to sit in silence with her pseudo daughter, being vulnerable enough to let the child know she wasn't ready to leave either, that she was sorry, that she wished things were different.
The facial expressions and emotions while American Pi plays. Yelena's obliviousness compared to Natasha's utter despair. The way this dynamic both foreshadows and describes the lives the girls have each already lived.
The desperation in Natasha as soon as they landed in Cuba. Speaking to Melina in Russian, calling her mom, saying she was sorry. Then, protecting Yelena without hesitation. She hasn't been in battle for 3 years, knows that such actions could get her killed, and yet her instinct was to choose love.
The way that you know it was real to all of them, not just Yelena, because of these scenes. It didn't need to be said later because it's evident throughout this entire intro. Despite Nat, Melina, and Alexei all knowing the ruse was over, they continued calling each other mom/dad/girls/sweetheart. They didn't have to anymore, even for Yelena's sake. But they chose to because it had stopped being a ruse to them. It was real.
I may not be a film buff, but these first few scenes feel like an entire movie themselves between the many layers under each statement and palpable emotions. The lighting, music, acting, and visuals perfectly tell the story and it's a shame that people don't respect it more.

I don’t think I’ve ever been as violently irritated with the choice to kill off a character as I was with that of Ilsa Faust in Dead Reckoning
#it’s so ridiculously unnecessary#like i’m okay with her dying in theory#but she has no purpose in this movie#they basically bring her back to kill her off#and for what???#what does that accomplish????#angering and motivating ethan? he was already angered and motivated#showing off the entity’s power?#i think the opening scene on the russian submarine does that in a much more effective and cinematic way#idk it just feels so gross to me#to have this character who was so engaging and developed and motivated on her own#and just kill her off to get rid of her#especially when she’s been the only main recurring female character in this cast for the last several movies#like i assume rebecca ferguson must have wanted out of these movies?#or was just not super available for filming so they had to write out the character?#but gosh#give her a better plotline for her death#make her an actual character#and not just a plot device who pops up halfway through the movie just to die and farm some cheap emotion off the audience#like i cry at every little remotely sad thing in movies — i am so emotional most of the time#i did not shed one tear at ilsa’s death#i dont think i even felt sad#i was just irritated#it’s just such an insulting way to write out this character#at least give her character something interesting to do if you’re going to unceremoniously kill her off#mission impossible dead reckoning#mission impossible dead reckoning spoilers#<- I know this movie has been out a year but just in case

Well, I did it
Tumblr media
Megatron - I love his tfp design. Probably one of the best iteration of Megs. He is huge, heavy armoured, his face covered with scars… He doesn’t looks like an ordinary military leader who is only capable of giving orders, but like real warrior who can destroy any enemy with his bare hands.
So, in the WOF version, he definitely shares some features with Princess Burn, not only because of his might, but also because of his horns shape and dirty-dark scales (that absorbed blood of his enemies)
Tumblr media
Starscream - Boy, I hate him so much 🤣… but in the good way, trust me! In my opinion, when the show's creators make you feel such strong negative emotions towards a villain, it means they've done a great job. Also, I think that his animation in the show was absolutely incredible, because even though he's a 3D model, he still manages to move like a 2D character, which is amazing!
I feel that in my design he still looks more like a skywing, than an icewing (which is kinda logical)
Tumblr media
Soundwave - This one was tricky. I couldn't figure out what his mask would look like, so I just made his face a really dark color. I think Soundwave has both gifts of the nightwings, and he’s equally great at telepathy and a future vision. So he doesn't really need equipment to predict enemy movements, which makes him an ideal communicator in the WOF setting. His Laserbeak is part of the armor enchanted by Shockwave, and it might also allow him to open portals (but I'm not sure with this one)
Tumblr media
Shockwave - My favourite evil genius. He would definitely have animus magic and mind reading. I think Shockwave is the only one who has advanced the study of magic so far, precisely because he combined it with scientific knowledge and created safer methods of using it, that don't damage the mind. It's like if a Mastermind got animus magic in books.
I also like to think that he didn't heal the damaged part of his face just so that his enemies would fear him more)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dreadwing - This man deserved better! It's really a shame that he was removed from the show so quickly due to financial problems. It would be great if his arc got a proper conclusion in season 3.
Considering that I didn't want to make him a hybrid, it was difficult to choose a suitable color palette. So let’s just say, that I tried my best😅
I don’t think that he would have any nightwing powers, but honestly it doesn’t even matter - this guy can make a bombs, what else does he need to be cool
Tumblr media
Arachnid - Did anyone even doubt that she would be a hivewing? Damn, she even got her own “Othermind” virus. Her design was the easiest to work with - just a little poisonous ass (suspiciously similar to Maleficent).
Just like Starscream, I hate her, but in a good way. She's one of the creepiest characters in the entire series, who’s acting like a fucking heartless monster, especially with Arcee, but even so, there's always was something mesmerizing about her. I just really like strong female villains
Tumblr media
Knockout - Wery bright and charismatic guy, definitely one of my fav cons!
I tried to draw him as handsome as possible. Worked a lot on the face shape and coloring, and as for me it turned out pretty nice (finally).
Most decepticons think Knockout is as stupid and lazy as all the other rainwings. And it's not like he completely disagrees with that. Of course he’s not stupid and lazy, but if it’s means less dirty work on the battlefield, well, he’ll continue act like a tipical rainwing
(I also believe that Megatron keeps him as an “art”)
Tumblr media
Breakdown - Fun fact: "Operation Breakdown" was the very first thing I saw in this series. And it was an interesting experience for 8 year old me. Maybe that's why I'm so scared of eye gouging scenes in movies now…
I think that he didn't have any siblings initially due to his parents nature, and even after meeting Bulkhead, he felt uncomfortable among the other mudwings. And this is why he later chose the side of the decepticons. And maaaaybe because of one cute rainwing influence)
Tumblr media
P.s.
I think that, being mostly nightwings and icewings, the decepticons are much more concerned about purity of their blood and rarely accept half-breeds into their ranks.
During the war, there were many animus dragons among decepticons, which is why they have so many artifacts that allowed teleportation and communication at a distance. But, honestly, I still can't imagine what Nemesis would look like in this AU

By this point we’ve all seen a hundred “Lucy had a crush on Cooper Howard and doesn’t realize he’s the Ghoul” takes (which feed me during the hiatus, thanks), but just for the lols I’d love to see the reversal: Lucy hates this guy.
Cooper Howard is her personal White Whale. Lucy hate-watches his films and nit-picks every scene like someone is paying her caps to do it. Whatever the opposite of a blorbo is, that’s Cooper. She woke up one day and chose violence against this 200 years dead actor in particular… but, you know, in a PR approved, Vaultie kind of way. Why the hate? Who knows. Probably a combination of her dad showing her Cooper’s debut film right when she hit that tween age where liking what your parents like is soul crushing and the fact that if she didn’t have this emotional outlet she’d probably explode. It’s the one (1) thing goody-goody Lucy is irrational about and Norm takes endless pleasure in it.
So she’s traveling with the Ghoul, right? Not a whole lot to do while traversing the Wasteland, especially when your companion is blatantly ignoring you and the pip-boy isn’t picking up any radio signals. So when Lucy is able to open that wound again she starts talking about her dad. The books he liked. Jokes he told over dinner. His favorite pair of socks. Silly, inconsequential things that don’t touch on the weight of his betrayal.
Eventually, Lucy talks about the movies they used to watch.
Eventually, Lucy is comfortable enough—and bored enough—to segue into epic rants about Cooper Fudging Howard. For hours. Nothing escapes her passive aggressive, couched-as-constructive-criticism bitching. Not his acting (“Really, he’d benefit from learning a gesture other than sticking his hands in his belt”), not his looks (“Who decided to put him in those pants in Master of the Ranch? Although, Dad says Howard is the one who requested them…”), not even his unintentional impact on the family (“I swear if Dad makes me watch A Man and His Dog one more time…”).
All the while Cooper is walking a few paces ahead. Seemingly stoic.
Actually losing it.
What’s he even supposed to do in this situation?? He hates himself, but not like that. Cooper doesn’t have any desire to talk to Vaultie (that’s a lie. He’s good at lying to himself), but suddenly he wants to turn around, finger held aloft in the air (hers), and correct everything coming out of her mouth—whether he truly disagrees or not. Hands-in-belt is a classic cowboy pose. He loved those pants.
Cooper is Struggling™ and they haven’t even hit the strip yet.
Bonus points: Somewhere along the line they get together and Cooper starts angsting over whether Lucy will leave him. Not because of the radiation damage, or the murder, or the cannibalism, but because if she ever finds out he’s Cooper Howard she’ll absolutely abandon ship. Or kill him. Either option seems likely at this point.
Lucy: Are you ever going to tell me your name? Cooper, literally in bed with Lucy post-coitus: …That’s a little personal, sweetheart

Hi, didn't know if your requests were still open but I was wondering if you could make a one shot for blue beetle. Spoilers but y'know how in the movie Khaji Da blatantly says whatever like emotional thing or physically thing is happening to Jaime? Kinda a one shot with that same concept where Khaji Da keeps telling Jaime what he's feeling or *feeling* towards the reader and the reader like asks Jaime what's up causs he keeps arguing with Khaji Da. It can me suggestive, smutty or fluffy, or all. All up to you! :)
Wing...A.I.? ➜ Jaime Reyes × Female!Reader
lol that end scene made me crack up with jenny
Warnings: friends to lovers, slight angst, smut, dry humping, blue balls/no finish
title is based off 'wingman' but because khaji da is an alien/a.i., it didn't feel right to say that, especially since im 90% sure khaji doesn't have a specific gender
Tumblr media
He was annoyed. As much as he loved Khaji Da for being there for him, it was days like these where he would groan and wished he never opened the box.
You had came over since he offered to binge watch the new season of one of the many shows you both watched together.
"I can feel your heartbeat has increased, Jaime." The alien A.I.'s voice echoed through his ear, making him groan. "Not now, Khaji!" He whisper yelled as you were in the kitchen grabbing bottles of water for the both of you. "It only happens when she's around."
"Stop!" You raise a brow as you hand him the bottle of water. "You alright?" He nodded and chugged the water, making you slightly confused. "Uh, okay..." Jaime gave you a forced smile before turning towards the TV and played the show. You rested your head on his shoulder making his breath hitch slightly. "Your breathing has increased, and your heart rate has increased even more." Jaime groaned. "¡Khaji, por favor!" (Khaji, please!) You looked at him, brows furrowed as you tilt your head to the side. "Jaime, what the hell is going on with you and Khaji Da?" He shook his head and cleared his throat. "Nothing..."
You gave him a look he knew too well; it was the look his mom gave him when he was in trouble. "Jaime..." he huffed out a breath and ran his fingers through his curls. "Khaji's been bugging me about...something." You frown. "Obviously, but what?" He sighed. "I can't tell you."
"Liar." Jaime rolls his eyes at their words. "I mean, I could, but I don't...want to tell you." You gasp and rest a hand on his shoulder, feigning shock. "What?" He chuckled, but his breath caught in his throat when your hand trailed down to his bicep. "Your blood is-"
"Shh!" You giggled at him. "What did she say?" He shook his head. "Nothing I don't already know." You sighed. "Just talk to me, Jaime. What's up?" He took a deep breath. "If I tell you, it could change our friendship..." You snort. "Don't tell me another alien A.I. crawled up your butt." He glared at you. "For the last time, it didn't crawl up my butt." You laughed and nod, pulling out your pinky. "I pinky promise it won't change our friendship." He hooked his pinky with yours and gave you a shy smile. "I-I like you, (Y/N)...but more than just a friend."
Your eyes went wide as you looked at him. "Oh." He gulped at your response, but quickly regained his composure when you leaned in. "For how long?" You asked. "For a while now actually..." he admits while his hand reaches over to touch your cheek. "Well, you and me both..." now it was his eyes that widened at your words. "Really?" You nod. "Jaime, just kiss her." Jaime chuckled at Khaji Da's words before leaning in to place a kiss on your lips. You giggled into the kiss before kissing him back. His thumb caressed your cheek as you both got lost into the kiss, your heart racing before you eased your way onto his lap. He moaned into the kiss as his hands trailed down to your hips.
You broke the kiss with a smirk that made him chuckle. "So Khaji Da's your little helper when it comes to relationships?" He laughed. "You could say that." You shook your head with a smile before kissing him again while his hands trailed up and down your sides. Your hands gripped his shirt as your tongue slid across his bottom lip. He opened his mouth, allowing you access and letting your tongues dance along each other. You both let out a satisfied moan before you moved your hips against his. He groaned into the kiss as his hands traveled down to your hips once more. Jaime couldn't help himself as he moved you both so that you were laying on the couch and he was on top of you.
"Are we moving too fast?" He asked against your lips. "We could stop if you want." He shook his head before pecking your lips. "We can keep doing this. I don't mind." You bite your lip as your eyes met his. Jaime moved his hips against yours, causing you to moan. He leaned down and began leaving a trail of kisses on your neck as he continued to grind on you. You tangled your fingers into his curls as you buck your hips against his. He moaned against your neck as he kept going. You were both so close. The moment was right there. He felt it and you felt it.
Then your phone rang, the ringtone that belonged to your mom echoed through the room. "You got to be kidding me." He groaned as he got off of you, letting you go to your phone and answering it. "You're frustrated." He chuckled as he caught his breath. "You have no idea, Khaji."

Headcanon that Hobie Brown struggles with conveying his emotions/is emotionally unavailable
When we were introduced to Hobie, he seemed like a very outgoing, funny guy who's friends with the optimistic, friendly Spider-man India, and we assume that he's the same way, what with all the jokes he makes, the slightly high-pitched voice and the vibrant color-changing nature of his animation. However, when he takes his mask off, he immediately reverts to a deeper tone of voice, no longer cracking as many jokes, not really expressing any visible emotions. He keeps a straight face for most of the movie, only managing a smirk or a slight smile when talking to Miles. He doesn't talk much, and all his lines have a deeper meaning behind them or a specific goal in mind.
Tumblr media
"eh what of it?"
This scene specifically is what fuels this headcanon. We see all of the Spider-men reflecting over their canons, showing visible anguish at these past events, ex. Peter B. Parker looking away from Miles and kissing Mayday on the forehead, and Jess Drew adding on her little "and me" when Miles asks if the canon happened to them.
However, Hobie seems to be looking at the canon event with a completely straight face, showing very little emotion at the death of his police captain. Now its completely plausible that since he is most obviously ACAB, he killed his police captain himself and doesn't feel much guilt for his death, but if we look closely, he does look a little sad before he turns his attention back to Miles. He then proceeds to say, "what of it", brushing off the incident, and acting as if it wasn't a big deal. This, plus his fairly emotionless behavior from the rest of his scenes made me feel as though he might be emotionally unavailable, especially in the specific emotions of sadness, guilt, regret, etc...
We do see Hobie laughing, smiling, being cocky and sarcastic, but we never see him sad or regretful, compared to the rest of the Spider-men who are all shown experiencing some kind of negative emotion. (This includes even Ben Reilly, Spectacular Spider-man, Pavitr, etc...)
Being emotionally unavailable can also result from trauma, which we can be pretty sure Hobie has. Canonically, he was homeless before being bitten by a spider, and considering most Spider-people get bit from the ages of 13-16, we can assume that he spent most of his teenage life homeless. Being a homeless black teen in a fascist dictatorship in the 70s most definitely would have left some kind of impact on him, making the headcanon that he would be emotionally unavailable even more valid.
Either way, headcanons are headcanons and they don't need to be 100% accurate or even really have to make sense, but I like the idea of Hobie not really being the type to open up to people and I think it would be an interesting concept to explore in fanfictions, Hobie x readers or even Hobie x OCs!

ghost dealing with his pregnant southern wife’s cravings (aka you introduce simon to tomato mayo sandwiches). tw: pregnancy, a little smut, eating/food, a little vomiting. i didn’t proof read this
ghost loved coming home to you after tedious days doing paperwork on base.
whatever you were going, he’d wrap his arms around you, resting his chin on the top of your head and sighing. he probably smelled like man. gross, sweaty man, but you never commented on it.
when you fell pregnant he loved holding you like that even more, seeing your belly start to poke out as he gazed downward.
one night, he came home to you standing in front of the kitchen counter, arm gently sawing back and forth as you sliced a tomato.
he took his normal position, humming and closing his eyes. when he opened them again, he took in the scene in front of him.
“what is this, love?”
never did he expect you to cook for him, especially when you became pregnant. but maybe every once in a while when he came home particularly starving, he’d steal a bite or two of whatever you were making.
but lately, your meals had gotten a bit strange.
and really, it was his own fault. as soon as you’d so much as hinted at wanting to have simon’s kid, he had you anchored down to the hilt of him as he stuffed you with his cum.
“it’s ummm, tomatoes and sourdough, and mayo.”
you tilted your head back to look at him.
“that’s it?”
you shook your head, hair going staticky on his t-shit.
“salt and pepper, too.”
you watched as his face pinched into a grimace.
“hey!” you scowled. “don’t look at me like that mister beans on toast.”
you turned fully, playfully shoving his chest.
“used to eat this all the time as a kid. everybody kinda did.”
simon cracked as he saw embarrassment creep onto your features, like he’d made you feel gross for craving it.
you were often victim of trying new british “delicacies,” so it was only fair that he return the favor.
“alright, i’ll try one.” he shrugged.
he offered to help, but as always you refuse it. he watched as you slathered a generous layer of mayo onto each side of the bread, setting thick slices of tomato on top, and finishing it with enough pepper to make simon sneeze.
he winced when you handed him his plate, and you were suddenly nervous.
“it might not be that good, tomatoes being out of season and all.”
you both tuck into your sandwiches once settled on the couch, your preferred spot these days.
simon was pleasantly surprised. maybe a little too much mayo, but he was delighted.
you on the other hand, were gagging after taking a bite. it had you making a haste exit for the bathroom, where you found a familiar place on the floor, heaving into the toilet.
when you returned to the living room, sheepish, simon had discarded any evidence of the sandwiches and had put a pot of water on the stove to boil for plain noodles, one of the only things you could stomach recently.
“sorry si, i didn’t mean for that to happen. it’s just—”
you began to choke, suddenly overcome by emotion. he pulled you in tight, your face pressing into his shirt.
“i know love, i know.”
his hand smoothed up and down your back steadily until he felt your breathing return to normal and heard your sniffling stop.
“why don’t you find a movie, and i’ll finish up in here.” he nodded towards the kitchen
you did, finding a movie both of you would like, even though simon never really watched the screen anymore. he was too focused on you, watching your little belly rise and fall with every breath.

Figured if I was going to go on the Snow White rant, I needed to actually rewatch the Disney movie.
The opening credits are much more interesting when you know some of the names. The only women who got on the list were Dorothy and Hazel, but it was nice to see their names at least and know who they were.
That book is gorgeous. All the details of the calligraphy and illustrations and binding.
Wow, the Queen is so much creepier than I remember. The fact that using the magic mirror involves summoning a "slave" trapped in the mirror? Don't like that.
That peacock behind her throne, though? Stunning, fantastic, no notes.
I kind of love how the Queen forces Snow White to be a maid, and Snow White just...doesn't care at all. She's just scrubbing a floor and totally fine. Queen's obsessed with Snow White every minute of the day and Snow White doesn't think about her at all.
Sorry, I don't buy the romance at all. I know it's a fairy tale, but one song does not a life-changing romance make. (There was a version of the scene where the prince was going to rejoice over the fact that she loved him, which might have been too much, but it at least would have helped sell it.)
The scene of Snow running through the forest and then collapsing in tears did make me feel for her.
It seems like Snow White and the Queen are from a completely different movie from the dwarfs. They've got this whole high fantasy feud going on, meanwhile these guys are living in a sitcom.
The dwarfs were the best part. Forgot how cute those guys could be.
There was not enough story here. 75% of the running time is them trying to stretch this paper-thin story to feature length. There's a big long cleaning sequence. A big long sequence of the dwarfs figuring out who invaded their cottage. A big long introduction sequence. A big long washing-up sequence. Multiple extended gags involving a fly. All fun to animate, I'm sure, but not at all up to modern pacing standards.
(I'd kind of like to compare this to other escapist '30s musicals--is this kind of structure common for movies where the point is just to show up and escape the Depression for 90 minutes?)
As a kid, I had one of those sing-a-long videos with a bunch of Disney songs, and I did not realize that I had a deep emotional connection to it until "Heigh-Ho" made me instantly happy and the Silly Song unearthed memories I didn't even know I had.
A lot of the other songs kind of stink, ngl. There's a reason the washing-up song is not in the public consciousness.
Kind of out-of-line for Snow White to just show up at their house and treat them like misbehaving children.
The skeleton in the dungeon reaching for the water pitcher? Can't believe the movie went there.
(Then they drew too much attention to it and kind of wrecked it. But wow.)
I like that they give a valid reason that the Queen thought True Love's Kiss wasn't going to be a problem.
But the queen cackling over the fact that Snow White's going to be buried alive? When it comes to showing this movie to children, I'm not hesitating about Snow White as a female role model, I'm hesitating because it's dark.
(But also--why not just poison her? I get that living death/buried alive is a worse fate than just plain death, but if she's not actually dead, how does the Queen count as fairest in the land? Especially since she magically made herself as ugly as possible?)
They carved her name in the coffin! Just like the bed! They finally get to make her a bed and it's to lay her to rest! It's almost enough to make me tear up.
The castle in the clouds makes me think of heaven/resurrection imagery, which ties in interestingly to my take on it.
There is so much potential to flesh out this story in a live-action version. Since you can't fill up the runtime with comedy dwarf antics, there's so much space to flesh out the relationship between the prince and Snow White, and give texture to the feud between the Queen and Snow White, and to dig deep into Snow's sweet character and how it affects the dwarfs, which is why it stinks that they're going for just another Not Like Other Girls update.

brad dourif scrungly feature analysis: eyes
from the “Boys” dourif-hottie supercut music video:
Tumblr media
I’d love to see an artist break this down!
For now, let me write you a novel about Brad's spectacular eyes...
The Strangeness
(Skip if you want to preserve the mystery.) BD's right eye is placed a little higher, and turned up as if tugged from the outer corner. I think it's part of that subtle something that immediately sets him apart. This unique, catlike, romantic asymmetry snatches your attention.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.
The glow
His striking, chameleonic blues capture light — even in B&W — which directors loooooove to exploit by lighting him obliquely:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a great way to crank up the eerie vibe of any scene, and I respect Star Trek for trashing that option outright with all-black contacts. (Of course, he still served an incredibly compelling outsider.)
(Edit: I put up a post just about this effect because they seriously do it all the damn time) (...because it's awesome)
Set in shadows
He has hooded eyes, deep-set and accentuated by heavy eye bags. The shadows and textures draw you in toward those luminescent irises, like picture frames that amplify each motion of his eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.
Contrast
Sometimes he pops them wide open, creating these huge, expressive magnets...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Or squints lopsidedly...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Or interrogates, challenges, threatens — alert but defensive, like a prey animal on the edge of lashing out.
He’s said he chooses roles that "turn him on" (pretty clearly in an artistic sense); many of these blend menace and vulnerability, and our boy dumps emotion into every. single. line. This can manifest as an intense, wary, combative look, with eyes wide under neutral or furrowed brows:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.
Cry, baby
...And that's all before we mention the tears. He cries, of course, at will and liberally, and his eyes go red-rimmed and wet, highlighting them even more as he pins someone's soul to the wall with his gaze.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he hovers right on the edge, they seem to shine in the dark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
.
Bared
At times, his fair eyelashes almost vanish, compounding his unusual look with a birdlike or reptilian tinge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously, the shaved brows in LOTR add to this effect.
Tumblr media
A couple more things you'll notice here: he'll hold his eyes wide open for much longer than normal, drawing out these moments and making him seem even more alien.
And when he gets up-close in someone's face (which is often), he's constantly switching his gaze between their eyes — totally fixated, as if scanning for emotional feedback. In my opinion, it adds to that vulnerability: to the object of his attention, he must seem like a predator freezing them in place... but it's also desperate, like a prey animal trying to decipher the other person's intent, all senses tuned to pick up their slightest signal. (Gríma Wormtongue and Jack Dante especially have this pathetic air about them: grasping at sources of warmth while lashing out at the harsh, unintelligible world around them, allying themselves with uncontrollable destructive forces in an attempt to establish a place for themselves........)
.
TL;DR
The eyes — and how he uses them — are the standout scrungly feature, the main reason we can’t look away from this unforgettable weirdo.
The cat-eye asymmetry pulls focus;
His ice-blue irises are light traps, framed in textured shadow;
His full-bore emotional commitment ramps up the anguish and torment to an aching crescendo that's impossible to ignore.
Eventually I'll follow up on other contributing factors, but for now, I'll leave you with a couple of article snippets about The Eyes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagi-Movies: Vol 1 No 2 — Winter 1993/94. Pages 11-13: "Traumatic - Brad Dourif". Link
SoHo News: November-December 1981. "Tension and mercy - Brad Dourif glowers for our sins" (an article all about his eyes! But they don't mention the asymmetry.)
[Gifs were mostly stolen from the GOAT, @exdeputysonso — with some of my own, mostly the square ones. Shout-out to @dragonsbloodsnowcone for inspiring this word vomit.]
Thanks for reading!

This is more focused on Kimiko and Frenchie. Comments are appreciated, and please let me know if you'd like more!
Tumblr media
Kimiko and Frenchie absolutely adore you. They love taking you out to the spa or for picnics, and find it so fun just to see you relax and be yourself. Frenchie already has experience introducing Kimiko to the rest of the world, so he really does work to get you caught up.
Like Kimiko, you find yourself loving the glitz and glamour of musicals. These are the movies Homelander didn’t show you, and you find yourself enjoying the clear emotions and simple plots, a complete lack of discussion of modern supe politics or action scenes. It’s calming to focus on something that completely lacks violence.
Kimiko loves acting out scenes with you, especially when you transform into the main characters. She usually finds herself twirled around and laughing heartily through the excitement and Frenchie’s laughter. She loves hearing your singing voice, even if it isn’t all that good and even if you aren’t great at mimicking voices yet.
Frenchie loves watching you and Kimiko get along. It warms his heart seeing the love of his life and someone he views like a sibling get along, especially because the two of you are really opening up and getting to know each other, exposing a side of you not often seen. There’s just something about having someone who really gets your experiences that makes you beam in excitement.
Frenchie probably gives a huge, impassioned speech, all about how it doesn’t matter who you used to be; all that matters to him is how you wish to define yourself now. He helps you figure out your values and wants and likes and dislikes, building a personality from the ground up.
Every day, Homelander feels like he sees you less and less, really setting off that paternalistic anxiety. He knows what Kimiko and Frenchie are capable of, and the longer you’re spending time with them, the higher the likelihood of him attacking them without a care as to the P.R nightmare. It helps if he can label them terrorists and tell everyone they took advantage of a young, naive supe who didn’t know any better.
You’ll have to face off against Homelander for the first time, making it clear you’re willing to fight him for the safety of your friends. Don’t give up and don’t give in. Transforming and showing how you now view him as this towering, imposing, angry figure will stop him in his tracks, causing him to flee.
Don’t worry, he knows you’re being manipulated. 🙂
He’ll fix it, just give him some time…
🙂

Baby Megumi & Best Sister Tsumiki Headcanons feat. Teen Dad!Gojo because I love this family unit, and my JJK brainrot is worsening the closer we get to 6th of July. 🫠
These are probably done before, but idgaf because we're about to see baby Megumi and high school Gojo again~ 🥹 Also, I'd rather do these instead of write fics because my Death Note X Code Geass crossover still needs my attention.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megumi has a stuffed animal collection. 🐺 It started with one stuffed wolf that Satoru got him for his 1st birthday with Gojo, and Megumi pretended he didn't like them, but ummm... 8 years later, Megumi has 75 animal plushies. I like to think they're all small and cute.
If Shibuya and the other BS didn't happen, Megumi would have received another stuffed animal or two for his 16th birthday. Because tradition. 🥹
Just like Megumi has a collection of stuffed animals, Tsumiki has a collection of dolls. *cough cough* Barbies... It started with Licca-chan and eventually Satoru caught her eyeing Barbies in toy stores, so he bought her one. And then two. And then whole sets for Christmas or her birthday or whenever she showed Gojo her report card.
In addition to dolls, Tsumiki definitely had one of those big Barbie houses when she was 8.
Tsumiki ropes Megumi into playing dolls with her. He does it to make his sister happy. And they always include Megumi's stuffed animals.
Tsumiki had Barbie Posh Pets. (Totally not projecting... Maybe I am). I had those as a kid and the set includes a pregnant mama cat + 3 kittens. You can open the mama cat's tummy and take out a pink kitten. (That's kind of fucked up when I think about it now 🤦‍♀️). I imagine it's that sort of nightmare-inducing shit that Satoru notices and gets because he thinks it's funny. 🙃
The Barbie Posh Pet in question that Tsumiki definitely owns:
Tumblr media
Anyway... Speaking of Barbie... Tsumiki saw her first Barbie movie because Satoru brought home a Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper DVD on one of their movie nights. He was just assuming she would like it...
She liked it, and they always had Barbie movies in the movie night roster ever since. Tsumiki loves them. Megumi thinks they're whatever but is amused, because Barbie movies have talking animals, and Satoru just loves to poke fun at the plot.
Megumi watches wildlife documentaries for fun. He's a National Geographic and Discovery Channel kid. He has a DVD collection that came with the encyclopedia set Satoru bought.
Megumi liked movies with animals. Are we surprised? He's seen all of the Dr. Dolittle movies.
Tsumiki cried watching Bambi. 🦌 Someone else definitely got teary-eyed while watching Bambi too. That 'someone' will also never admit it, even if Satoru totally caught that particular someone rubbing his eyes with his small fists during that scene.
Speaking of getting teary-eyed at watching cartoons. Satoru's damn lucky he can hide behind his blackout sunglasses, because he was totally sad and emotional when they finished watching The Fox and the Hound. 🦊🐶 You look at that Tod and Cooper friendship and tell me it doesn't remind you of SatoSugu a little bit.
The refrigerator in Megumi and Tsumiki's apartment is stocked with 80% sweets. It's Satoru's fault.
Satoru attends Megumi's and Tsumiki's parent-teacher meetings in elementary school, and he's popular with the PTA parents (especially the moms). Megumi hates it, Gojo revels in the attention. Some teachers invited him to be in the PTA, but ultimately, this special-grade sorcerer always has to decline. He's way too busy.
Elementary career days = Satoru telling the kids that he's a very powerful magician. 🎩🪄🐇 The kids believe him and the adults think he's joking. Well technically, he isn't.
Satoru is prone to bribing child tantrums with McDonalds. It doesn't always work.
Satoru, Megumi, and Tsumiki definitely went camping a couple of times. Sometimes Shoko tags along, but she never stays overnight.
Satoru lost Megumi at the mall. Tsumiki always found her little brother. He's honestly not that hard to find. He's either in a bookstore or a pet shop or a toy store that sells things Megumi likes.
Tsumiki is very forgiving of Satoru's tendency to lose Megumi in the mall.
Ice cream or parfaits for dinner are normal when you're living with Gojo. 🍨🍦
They've been to Disneyland. 🏰
Megumi likes zoos and aquariums.
Tsumiki is fond of handcrafting appreciation gifts for Satoru. 🎁Friendship bracelets, knitted socks and mittens she made in homeroom once that are way too small for him, multi-colored dreamcatchers (she made one for Megumi too of course), birdseed ornaments, lots of origami, very small bead bowls, flowers made of cupcake liners, etc.
Satoru has all of Tsumiki's DIY handicrafts tucked away in an Air Jordan shoebox. He also has a jar full of origami paper cranes that Tsumiki made when she was in her origami phase.
Satoru always took the kids to fun festivals whenever he could.
Satoru gave Megumi and Tsumiki the childhood they deserved -- gave them the childhood they were almost robbed of when Toji and Tsumiki's mom abandoned them, gave them the childhood Gojo never got to have.
All of that before Megumi lost Tsumiki and his life started spiraling for the worst. 😭
#Save&FreeMegumiPLEASE!

what are your top ten fav bl's of all time?
Hey Anon! I had to take some time to think about this. It's hard for me to choose things like this! You're really putting me on the spot lol. Here we go tho...I might cheat a little.
To My Star. Both 1 and 2. I love Seo Joon's and Ji Woo's story. I love their relationship dynamic. I loved how protective they were of each other. Both Ji Woo and Seo Joon are complex characters with layers that you can really bite into and analyze many ways. I know a lot of people were not fans of s2 but that was one series where I truly ate up the angst. Ji Woo is a hard character to understand unless you really take the time to watch the series and focus on his behaviors. You'll never, ever catch me talking bad about TMS.
Tumblr media
Gameboys the Series. Both the seasons and the movie. CaiReel have such a modern and relatable love story. I think it being a series about finding relationships in the middle of a global pandemic while we were ALL sharing the same plight really stood out. I felt like I made new friends while watching that series. Also for s1 to be shot completely on an iPhone and for most of the actors to not actually be filming their scenes at the same time, I was BLOWN away by the quality AND chemistry. That series made me SOB and that is also something I consider impressive. If it can make me cry then it's certified gold.
Tumblr media
Utsukushii Kare. Both seasons and the movie. This is another series with complex main characters. Hira deals with his general uninterest in damn near everything EXCEPT Kiyoi and photography. And Kiyoi deals with his need for attention even if he generally doesn't like people because they always disappoint him. It's interesting to see how they handle their seemingly unbalanced relationship. Hira is willing to give Kiyoi all the love he requires and not get close (which is normally what Kiyoi wants) and Kiyoi learns that with Hira he wants a real true love and relationship and that's quite a task when the man you love doesn't value himself. It's just interesting seeing the growth between them.
Tumblr media
Color Rush S1. I love the way they tackle the soulmates trope, and explore the darker side to the obsession that could happen once you find your perfect match ESPECIALLY when that match can help you see a full picture. Yeon Woo struggles with a myriad of thoughts and fears as he does his best not to get close to Yoo Han even though Yoo Han is serving up himself on a silver platter with tantalizing promises of helping him learn the colors he craves to see. Yeon Woo becomes obsessed, but little does he know that Yoo Han is also obsessed because Yeon Woo also helps Yoo Han see a clearer picture. But maybe that obsession is really just them falling in love and not knowing what to call it.
Tumblr media
Moonlight Chicken. Messy and relatable to a person like me who is smack dab in the middle of the age groups involved. This series really showcases how messy romances can be. It shows how hard it can be to close the door to a chapter you thought would end happily. This series shows how hard it can be to move on when a normally open door shuts in your face suddenly and forever. It shows how a chapter that starts off terrible can lead you into the most thrilling moment of your life. It shows that the last chapter you finished might have you TERRIFIED to move on to the next one. Stuck. This was a series I found difficult to dislike any of the characters even if they were being terrible. Emotions were high and reactions were warranted. This was a series where I felt like people were allowed to feel the way they were feeling.
Tumblr media
We Best Love. Yes, both seasons. Shu Yi and Shi De had such an up and down ship. Shi De went through such a roundabout way to get close to Shu Yi and I really enjoyed watching them become friends. I enjoyed watching Shu Yi come to realize he was in love. I wanted to beat Shi De up in s2 for ghosting Shu Yi and I was enjoying watching Shu Yi get his lick back, but really he was just looking for answers so he can decide if he was stupid for wanting to forgive Shi De the moment he saw him again. It's another fun and messy series.
Tumblr media
Lovely Writer. I LOVE Gene ok. He really made me love the series because he was such a bomb ass character. I also found Nubsib's psycho/stalkerish tendencies quite entertaining because he was so polite about it. I love that the series took stabs at all the things wrong with the BL community while simultaneously having the main character be an actor in one of the most toxic fake BLs I've ever seen. Just meta on top of meta. Satire in the form of a trendy BL within a BL.
Tumblr media
History 3: MODC. Salt run aside, I just really loved this series. Can't believe a series about the shy kid falling in love with his bully is a fave. That sentence alone would make it problematic af...not to mention the questionable age gap between the 2nd couple. But it was beautifully constructed. Hao Ting found the best version of himself in Xi Gu and Xi Gu found a brighter side to life with Hao Ting. And they were WAYYYYY into each other and Hao Ting did put in his work to be forgiven. I do my best not to overthink Zhi Gang's age difference from Sun Bo because it's such a norm in Taiwanese BL. It's kind of interesting to see their relationship play out. Zhi Gang definitely has his hangups with the age gap and Sun Bo just doesn't care.
Tumblr media
Blueming. Such a laid back series. Si Won is just a sweetheart dealing with self-esteem issues trying to make his presence known in life so he can get the best out of his university experience. And Da Un is just that effortlessly cool guy Si Won strives to be like. He can't even fathom the idea of such a cool guy having a crush on him that he takes the flirting as arrogance lmao. I think it's sweet that Da Un helps uplift Si Won and I think it's sweet that Si On showed Da Un the attention he never got at home.
Tumblr media
Ingredients the Series. Just a sweet lil slice of life miniseries. It fills me with joy to watch Tops and Win pine after each other as Win works on his music and Tops works on his cooking and they live together symbiotically. There's not too much to this series. It relies heavily on food and chemistry and that's perfectly perfect for me.

So I haven’t talked nearly enough about Mutant Mayhem yet but I saw it for the second time a few days ago and they have consumed all my thoughts have some random headcanons I’m dying I have to talk about them more:
⚠️(Spoiler warning for MM as well)⚠️
April
- Lives with her mom and grandfather on her mother’s side. Raised by a single mom who’s a veterinarian and her grandpa, a retired tailor and clothing retail manager, moved in after her grandma passed away a few years ago.
- Listens to way too many murder mystery podcasts and thrillers are her favorite movie genre
- Practices doodling a lot in the sides of her journal or class notes. She’s inspired by courtroom sketch artists and old biology journals.
- Swears like a sailor. Even more than Raph. Tries to censor herself around them but it only gets worse the closer they become as friends
- Becomes a sort of ambassador for the turtles and other mutants in the city. Anyone who doesn’t approve of them, goes through her…
- Favorite subject is biology, outside of working on the school newspaper of course
Leo
- Big time book worm. Has read a lot of the classics like The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, etc. which gives him an advantage heading into high school. His favorite subject is literature naturally as a result.
- Autistic, practically canon but just putting it out there
- Like April, he’s got a sensitive stomach under pressure. Nausea flares up all the time, especially at the sight or smell of blood. They bond over it. Nothing brings two people together like commiserating that your tummy hurts all the time🤝
- Hopeless romantic. Had fallen head over heels for a few other girls he spotted up top even before April came along. She was just…different. He watches a lot of sappy romance movies too they make him feel all warm and fuzzy.
- Love language is words of affirmation big time. He’s always about hyping up the people he loves and will defend them through anything.
Raph
- He’s the team medic in this iteration. He’s no professional but growing up he had so many injuries from being a scrappy lil dude that he picked up on how to take care of ‘em on his own and of course shares that knowledge with his bros and April later. He’s surprisingly gentle when he needs to be.
- He’s the most prone to nightmares/night terrors. The fact that Raph was the one to go seek comfort from Splinter in the tots scene is so important to me.
- He and Donnie are the anime enthusiasts. Hasn’t seen as many as Donnie but it’s close.
- Scratching his shell gently, especially up by the shoulder blades, is like an automatic snooze button. He passes out within minutes.
- Second biggest crybaby to Mikey. It happens when he feels any emotion too strongly whether it’s happiness, anger, sadness, etc. and he hates it. Makes him feel weak, which is why there usually is a lot of punching involved too.
Donnie
- Can’t swim and is the only one who actively dislikes getting into the water.
- He and Leo have been studying how to speak and write Japanese together for years. Don has picked up a lot from all the anime he watches.
- Is the most emotionally open version of Donnie to date. He’s always telling his family how much he loves them without restraint and is the first to ask what’s wrong if he picks up on someone acting weird or trying to hide something.
- To compliment the above hc, he’s insanely observational, like Sherlock level. They don’t know how he’s able to do it but his attention to detail and his ability to take that and create plans and get a read on people is baffling. If Donnie doesn’t get a good vibe off someone, believe him and run the other way. (Makes him really good at those spot the different puzzles too lol.)
- Loves to dance just like his previous incarnation before him:’) Bootyyyshaker9001
Mikey
- Is actually afraid of cats…growing up with Splinter, who would freak out at the sight of them, only taught him to freak out along with him. They are sharp and unpredictable.
- Other than that however he’s an animal lover. Had a few pet fish through the years that he saved after being flushed.
- Practically canon but the most physically affectionate by leagues. Constantly seeking a brother, adopted mutant family member, or an April to cling to.
- Super into musicals and is a actually a decent singer
- Can take a punch like nothing you’ve ever seen and can still be standing….but gets sick constantly his immune system is wack

I feel like I've abundantly established that I don't think the tos movies are the best ones ever made and this one was especially wild to me, but I still do have a soft spot for all of them. I never leave thinking "oh, I didn't like that", even if there were entire scenes were I was like ??? and/or second hand embarrassed. (think, uhura dancing naked, them thinking the alien on the planet is literally god). but then sybok asking when the pain began and spock goes "this is the scene of my birth" was way too funny to me (sorry spock). and the turbo boots scene in the jeffries tube was also really entertaining in a slapsticky way.
the general plot was a bit strange, but it actually reminded me of og tos episodes. at the same time, that's not necessarily a good thing… I liked the shore leave scenes, even though they were a bit long considering how short the movie was. it also reminded me of those old, unauthorized tos books (even though I've never actually read any of those) where they recycle typical tos episodes, but make it a little larger and filled with some non-canon info, like the random pairings. I do think scotty and uhura are kind of cute though! it came out of nowhere, but it kind of makes sense to me. (why do they call each other by their last names though?) and then cut to chekov and sulu in the woods bickering like a couple. makes sense as well. but why are these people serving on the same ship in the same positions again after they've become really high ranking officers? I think it actually made a lot of sense in wrath of khan that e.g. chekov was a first officer on a different ship and spock captain. but considering this, it makes a lot of sense that some (all) of them are bound to date each other at some point. it's like going to class with the same people for 8 years.
I surprisingly liked spock leaning more into his human side and being emotional than usual. it makes sense in my head that, after he was reborn, he kind of saw how short life was and that there was no need to keep up a facade at all times, but still not lose his identity. similar to seven in picard, I am always worried about autistic-coded characters changing their personality heavily after a while, but with spock it feels quite natural and it even worked with seven in the later picard seasons. I just think it's all about the balance. like I enjoy those characters being more comfortable, especially around friends and loved ones, but they shouldn't change entirely how they are and still seem "reserved". and I think leonard nimoy especially did well in that, even if this script gave him some out of character lines I think (like the "damn you, sir!"). have I already mentioned I think leonard nimoy is the best actor in tos…?
speaking of spock's rebirth and rethinking, I do see him being more open with kirk (I almost wrote jim, but that feels weird) and they had very much a married couple vibe in this movie. even the little maritial crisis in the brig was there. so I'd like to think kirk finally made a commitment :) and while there were not too many one on one scenes with these two, the next to last scene was more than one could wish for, spirk-wise. their intense eye contact and "please captain, not in front of the klingons" while standing extremely close to one another and kirk grabbing spock. like I've seen so many posts that shatner denies there was anything between kirk and spock, but the way he played kirk, I mean come on. I'm sure there wasn't a direction in the script that said "kirk stares lovingly up at spock". but he fully did in this scene! we have proof! and kirk holding on for dear life to spock as he rescues him with the turbo boots in the jeffries tube was also something. I mean of course you need to hold on, but kirk was embracing spock with a closeness different than mccoy did. (but then there is this strange thing with mccoy, where I keep thinking: is he third wheeling or is this a three way relationship? I somehow can't see mccoy fitting in with kirk and spock's romantic vibe and I don't see him in an erotic way in general but… tumblr is giving me ideas...)
a very long winded post to say: superfluous, but overall enjoyable movie. while watching, I also suddenly had flashbacks that this was the first (!) piece of star trek that I had ever (consciously) watched. it was on tv when I was like 10 and I kept zapping away and was surprised when it was still going and was like: isn't this supposed to be a tv show? and my dad, who grew up watching tos, had no memory of there ever being star trek movies in the 80s. he also had never heard of pretty much any star trek shows after tos at that point, so he was living under a rock, apparently. anyway, some of the scenes of this movie were really etched into my mind and I honestly think one of the subconscious reasons I wanted to watch tos was to get context to these scenes! (of course besides me wanting to watch all of star trek from the beginning.)

can i um request sugar daddy au with kuroo bokuto ushi and iwa 😔👉👈
> haikyuu's sugar daddies.
a/n: i love this request and the amount of comments my friends and i make about wanting sugar daddies, this request is right up my alley AND APPARENTLY, there are 7 types of sugar daddy relationships so let's get started
warnings: if you don't like money or sugar daddies, do scroll past and i do mention sex a few times so under the cut ✂
×××
> kuroo tetsurou
"Sugar dating - combines the intertwined life of companionship with sex"
i can't see Kuroo as only being a behind the scenes man and sending you large amounts of cash out of the blue. nu uh, he's too interested in other people's lives, especially the life of his sugar baby.
the relationship will quickly developed if kuroo finds you interesting and his interest shows with him sending larger and larger sums of cash with each transaction.
as written above, sex does end up becoming a staple of this situation of yours. mind you, he is very upfront about his desires, so he immediately tells you that this situationship might turn sexual, giving you the opportunity to back out.
he does bribe you into doing things like: "if you give me a kiss, i'll give you 10€" or "give me a blow job and i'll buy you that new phone you've wanted"
> bokuto kotarou
"Compensated dating - monetary or material compensation for grabbing a coffee, a meal or attending a specific event together"
i don't think he'd have time or think much about having a partner, especially with a life as busy as his. so, that's where a sugar baby would come in! honestly, questions this possibility very frequently, but gives in in the end.
i feel like he'd ask you first how much money you'd like to be sent and if you need the number to be raised. will splurge on you all the time if you don't tell him to stop.
if he takes you out for coffee, it's a super pleasant experience because he's super nice and interesting to be around, and if he sees you reacting well to him, his behaviour and jokes, you bet your bank account is going to be singing as you finish your cup of coffee.
takes you to volleyball events as his "partner" and boy, the money you get afterwards is unbelievable. never pushes you too far and only does PG-13 things.
> ushijima wakatoshi
"Compensated companionship” includes a wider range of activities and often involves the person becoming more intertwined in the man’s life.
he'd want his sugar baby to be more of a partner to him, but without being labeled such? that sounds like such an asshole move, but oh well. also, this type of companionship rarely includes sex, like in this case.
he just wants someone who is willing to come to his games, greet him afterwards and go back to his place for a nice celebratory meal - no strings attached.
also the one who splurges unbelievable amounts of money and still thinks he's giving you too little. texts you quite often and asks of you to accompany him to the store, go buy some new gear for him and so on...always ends up buying you some stuff as well.
very very open about this situationship and isn't afraid to talk to anyone about it. it's his money and time he's spending with you, so why would anyone care about what he does?
> iwaizumi hajime
"Pragmatic love - the sugar baby is more than happy to let a sugar daddy care for them, and hopes eventually to be in a romantic, long-term relationship with him."
come on, who wouldn't want to end up with this man? he's like the epitome of all that's sexy, manly and appealing to the eye AND he's super cute and nice, so totally understandable. at first, he doesn't even know the effect he has on you.
out of the four, i believe he's the one who'd most likely convert or "upgrade" your situationship into a real relationship because iwaizumi seems like an emotional person - he loves love.
he also loves taking care of people, so besides giving you money for everything you need, he frequently invites you over to his place for a nice home cooked meal, movie marathon, some good sex if it's his birthday and such...it hits him pretty quickly that he's fallen for his sugar baby.
you don't have to wait long for him to properly ask you and start referring to you as his partner and not just someone he spends his money on because it feels nice to care for others.
×××
ending note: i forgot how annoying it is to tag things here...

Stay, if you want. (Justin Herbert) ✧
Prompt 25. Stay, if you want too
CW: Fluff
WC: 1498
"I really should be going," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. I stole a glance at Justin, and my heart skipped a beat at his earnest gaze. Justin's brown eyes locked onto mine, and he took a step closer. "Or..." he started, his voice trailing off as he looked down at the ground for a moment.
"Or what?" I prodded, unable to hide the curiosity in my voice. Justin took a deep breath and looked back up at me. "Or you can stay if you want to," he said softly, his eyes searching mine for any sign of agreement. My pulse quickened, and I felt a warmth spreading through me. "Stay?" I repeated, the word feeling foreign on my tongue. "Yeah, stay," Justin confirmed, a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "I mean, if you want to, of course. I just thought it might be nice to spend a little more time together."
I couldn't help but smile at his awkward charm. "I'd like that," I said, surprising myself with the sudden confidence in my voice. Justin's face broke into a relieved grin, and he motioned toward the couch.
"Great. Let's watch a movie, or we could order some food. Whatever you're in the mood for." "A movie sounds perfect," I replied, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of spending more time with Justin.
As Justin sorted through his collection of DVDs, I admired the cozy decor of his living room. Soft throw pillows adorned the plush couch, and warm, earthy tones filled the space, creating an inviting atmosphere. "How about this one?" Justin asked, holding up a classic romcom. "It's a bit cheesy, but in a good way." I chuckled and nodded. "Cheesy is perfect, especially on a cozy evening like this."
We settled onto the couch, and Justin hit play on the remote. The opening credits rolled, and I nestled into the cushions, feeling relaxed and content in Justin's company. As the movie progressed, I found myself stealing glances at Justin. His focused gaze on the screen, the way he chuckled at the funny moments, and the soft furrow of his brow during the emotional scenes—it all made my heart flutter.
“I can grab some snacks if you'd like," Justin offered during a brief pause in the movie. "Or maybe some popcorn?" "Popcorn sounds great," I agreed, feeling a surge of fondness for Justin's considerate nature. Justin nodded and slipped off the couch, making his way to the kitchen. The sounds of cabinets opening and the hum of the microwave filled the air, adding a cozy rhythm to the evening. As he returned with a heaping bowl of popcorn, I grinned in appreciation.
“You're a mind reader," I teased, reaching for a handful of the warm, buttery snack. Justin chuckled and settled back onto the couch, our arms brushing against each other as we shared the popcorn. With the movie coming to a close, I felt a sense of reluctance at the thought of leaving. The comfortable silence between Justin and me seemed too perfect to disrupt.
"So, what did you think?" Justin asked, casting a sideways glance in my direction. "The movie was great," I replied, finding myself lost in Justin's gaze once more. Justin's lips curved into a gentle smile, and he shifted his position, facing me more directly. "I'm really glad you decided to stay," he said, his voice carrying a hint of vulnerability. I felt a jolt of nervous energy coursing through me, but beneath it all, there was an undeniable warmth in Justin's presence.
"Me too," I admitted, my voice quieter than before. Before I could process what was happening, Justin's hand reached out, gently brushing against mine. My breath caught in my throat at the unexpected contact, and I turned to meet his eyes. "Can I be honest?" Justin asked, his gaze unwavering. I nodded, feeling the anticipation building within me. "I've been wanting to do this all evening," Justin confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
In one swift movement, Justin closed the distance between us, pressing his lips against mine in a soft, tender kiss. My entire body hummed with a rush of emotions, and I found myself leaning into the embrace, savoring the moment. When we finally pulled away, Justin's eyes held a silent question, searching for any hint of discomfort or hesitation.
"Wow," was the only word that escaped my lips, but the smile on Justin's face told me everything I needed to know. "Wow, indeed," Justin echoed, his voice filled with warmth. "I've been wanting to do that since the moment you walked into my house." My heart swelled with a mix of joy and relief. "I'm so glad I stayed," I murmured.
The evening melted into night as we continued to talk, laughter and deep conversations intertwining in the air around us. With each passing moment, I found myself falling deeper for Justin, and the feeling in his eyes mirrored my own. It wasn't until the late hours that I realized how late it had become, and a yawn slipped past my lips, surprising me.
"I should get going," I said, forcing myself to stand despite the reluctance in my heart. Justin nodded, understanding flickering in his eyes. "Yeah, it's getting late. Let me walk you out." We made our way to the front door, the night enveloping us in a gentle embrace. The quiet hum of the neighborhood surrounded us, adding to the intimate atmosphere.
As we reached the threshold, Justin turned to face me, his expression tender. "Thank you for staying," he said, his voice holding a hint of vulnerability. "Thank you for inviting me," I replied, a soft smile gracing my lips. Justin hesitated for a moment, as if contemplating his next move. "Would you... like to do this again sometime?" he asked, his eyes searching mine.
My heart skipped a beat at the hope in his voice. "I'd love that," I admitted, feeling a spark of excitement at the thought of seeing Justin again.
A genuine smile blossomed on Justin's face, and he leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to my cheek. "Goodnight, y/n," he said softly, his gaze lingering on mine. "Goodnight, Justin," I whispered, feeling a warmth spreading through me at his lingering presence.
As I made my way home, the night felt alive with the memory of Justin's touch and the warmth of his gaze. Despite the late hour and the weariness tugging at my body, I felt a renewed sense of hope pulsing within me.
In the days that followed, Justin and I found ourselves drawn to each other like two magnets, unable to resist the pull of our connection. We shared laughter, deep conversations, and quiet moments that seemed to stretch into eternity.
However, as our bond deepened, I couldn't shake the sense of uncertainty lingering at the back of my mind. It felt like standing on the edge of a precipice, the thrill of the fall mingling with the fear of the unknown.
One evening, as Justin and I sat across from each other in a café, the weight of the unspoken lingered between us, casting a shadow over the warmth of our shared laughter. "What's on your mind?" Justin asked, his eyes searching mine with a hint of concern.
I hesitated, feeling the weight of my thoughts pressing against my tongue. "I... I've been thinking," I started, my voice hesitant. Justin's expression softened, and he reached across the table, his hand finding mine. "You can tell me anything, y/n. I'm here for you." The warmth of his touch emboldened me, and I took a deep breath. "I'm just... afraid," I admitted, feeling the vulnerability unraveling within me. "Afraid of what?" Justin prodded gently, his gaze unwavering.
"Afraid of getting too close," I confessed, the words feeling like a weight lifted from my chest. "Afraid of getting hurt." Justin's eyes softened with understanding, and he squeezed my hand gently. "I understand," he said, his voice gentle. "But y/n, I want you to know that I'm not going anywhere. I care about you, and I want to be here for you."
