“Afternoon, Larry! Your usual, I presume?”

“Hello, Moe. And yes, please.”

“Comin’ right up!”

Larry slid into his seat, setting his briefcase down onto the floor beside his feet. He let out a sigh, it was identical to the other sighs he let out every workday. And the sighs he normally let out while placing himself down at the counter were of content. He considered the Treasure Eatery as his safe haven. The constant low humming of the bustling restaurant was a pleasant experience for him, and the scent of aged wood and cooked food brought him comfort whenever he set foot inside the warm building. However, this particular sigh was for another reason. And because she had mastered the art of decrypting the different pitches of his sighs and what they meant, Moe instantly caught up on it.

“That doesn’t sound like a happy sigh,” she slid him a fresh plate of grilled rice balls, complemented with two slices of lemon. One minute and forty seconds, she was quicker than last time. “Everything goin’ alright? Besides the usual office woes, of course.”

Larry looked down at the golden triangles before him, instantly feeling his mood lift a smidge. Food. Food was always a good thing. Food was always there for him. Food never disappointed him. Food made him happy.

“Well,” he began, wedging a lemon slice in between his fingers and spritzing his rice. “You know how the Pokémon League has been scrambling for the past month to find suitable candidates for the Elite Four, since all the previous ones resigned?”

He didn’t need to say any more. “No way, you got promoted?!”

He snorted, taking his first bite and chewing thoughtfully. “More like forced. I don’t know what on Earth my boss was thinking recommending me. I’m just an average guy from Medali who likes to eat, I’m nothing worth nominating over.”

Moe swat the air, eyeballing the wok of frying vegetables to her left. “Oh, don’t be like that, Larry! You’re known as the ‘Exceptional Everyman’ around here! We didn’t give you that title for no reason!”

Larry hummed as he finished off the first rice ball and went to the other one. “And I still don’t quite understand why you all insisted on giving me that title. Or why the League even demands that we submit titles in the first place.”

Moe scratched her forehead with her arm. “Think of it as a uniformity. I know how much you value consistency.”

He arched a thick eyebrow.

“You know how Gym Leaders in other regions have a title, or some kind of motto or phrase that describes their person or the type of Pokémon they specialize in, right?” She took a brief moment to finish up another dish of stir fry, setting the hot bowl onto the counter for the waitress to retrieve it.

“‘The Lightning Lieutenant’ in Vermilion,” and she stuck out fingers to count. “‘The Underground Boss of Driftveil.’ Hearthome’s ‘Alluring, Soulful Dancer.’ ‘The Person Who Makes Paths with Starlight’ in Anistar. The list goes on.”

Larry frowned, swiping away a grain of rice on his cheek. They all were much too complicated for his liking, and the last one felt nauseatingly over the top. Now “The Extraordinary Everyman” didn’t sound as bad as when he first heard it. A thought crossed his mind and he hummed.

“Gym Leaders in Alola don’t have titles,” he mentioned. The second shriveled lemon lay discarded in the corner of his plate.

“Unless you count ‘Trial Captain,’” she winked, cracking a couple of eggs into a skillet and scrambling them with a whisk. “It doesn’t have the same ring as the others, but a title’s a title.”

She had a point, he supposed. He was just glad he wasn’t the one who contributed to the creation of his title. He had the creativity of a blank sheet of paper, and he didn’t want to be bothered with spending any more of his depleting energy or fleeting time to come up with something.

“Another one, ‘Larry the Extraordinary?’” She chuckled as he ducked his head in between his shoulders.

“…Yes, please…”

The rough pads of his thumbs feel like a feather sweeping over your soft chin, though - tentative but endearing.

Haytham

His palms press ever so slightly against your neck, thumbs cradling your jaw as he tilts your face up towards him. Suddenly, Nora feels something. Sees something. She peers into a window of the future, one most uncomfortable. She was bound to a throne, tied by a sense of obligation and responsibility, and forced to spend the rest of her life trying and failing to make the poor richer, the hungry satiated, and the bad better. Never again would she have her freedom to wander and do as she pleased. Nora's chest became tighter, and her breathing shallower. Her vision began to blur as tears filled her eyes and spilled over from her cheeks. Her heart began to ache so much, she brought a hand to where it tried to rest, and found her arm, her fingers shaking with this strange new emotion! Was... Was this the fear she sought?

Robyn: Huh... She doesn't look to happy.

This book truly was a treasure and its a darn shame that it only lasted for 18-issues. I truly hope Marvel gives us more adventures with Nadia Van Dyne and the Agents of G.I.R.L. in the future!

*Jumps through the window* Desmond after sacrificing himself is thrown into the time of Bayek (Maybe like a Yew Branches?). Maybe because of Issue technology or some bug of the Eye he becomes immortal and is know by the assassins as this hooded figure of the legends. There are record of people that saw him at the important moments for the brotherhood or is mentioned to give some forgotten knowledge or advice to people...... i just want people to think that Desmond is this badass figure in brotherhood history, when in reality he is sweating his ass and is full chaos mod.

He’s more or less deitified in that ask so it’ll be super funny to think that he’s making such a big impact in history and is known as an absolutely powerful figure and they all think he’s cool but, in reality, he’s flying by the seat of his pants.

But that’s because he went to Altaïr first and Altaïr felt both sorry for the fact that he has no idea what to do and annoyed by the fact that he has no idea what to do so the two of them spent most of their time just planning Desmond’s next moves for the next 600 years or so. 

Then Ezio came along and Leonardo was able to make sense of all his ramblings about techs he and Altaïr sorta started and kinda finished.

Edward was purely by chance, and he will never let down the fact that Edward had found him by fishing him out of the waters while he went diving for treasures.

Okay. Haytham becoming an Assassin was intentional. Matchmaking was not his strong point and he always fucked that up so badly because all his meddling only made Haytham and Kaniehtí:io sorta-kinda hate each other. Bless Edward for being able to fix that.

Desmond was only planning to take a vacay for a bit. That’s why he joined Shay. Realizing that taking out the POE would be bad? Yeah. That was unintentional. Making Shay freak out because he was freaking out because that POE looked ready to just drop off its container like the little bitch that it was? Yeah… definitely not intentional. Desmond and Shay swore never to talked about that incident. 

In Desmond’s defense… He didn’t help Arno broker peace between the Assassins and Tempalrs. That was all Arno and his supporters. Desmond had been… preoccupied by de Sade’s writings to actually be of any help. Oh. Well, Desmond guessed he did take the Sword of Eden and beat Germaine on the head with it while Arno was busy with the negotiations and trying to pretend that he hadn’t been banging the new Grand Master of the Templar Order for years now. 

Desmond would like to stress that he didn’t provide council to the Frye Twins. Unless one counts “Noooo, don’t do that” and “Wh… why are you doing this? No, seriously… talk me through your thought process on how you got to this plan” and, Jayadeep’s favorite, “Uh-huh… and then?”. Desmond spent his entire time in London in Kenway manor, just chilling then Jayadeep would come barging in asking for his help because of the next Frye patented idea one of the twins have. They weren’t bad. It was just… Evie might pretend that she’s good at planning and she is. The twins just see the word improvise as ‘the first thing we think of which is usually the most chaotic thing we can think of’ and double-down on that.

Honestly...

Desmond was already dreading the shenanigans that will happen after he takes this timeline's Desmond Miles under his wings.

But fuck it.

He'd been winging this from the beginning and he'll continue to wing this.

now personally, I believe that Arno would be upset, angry, sad and possibly confused. I also see him as passive aggressive when he first finds out Shay was the man that killed his father, and once the anger fully settles in it's full on aggressive interrogation. to the point where Shays just like "I wish it was you I killed at this point, you're annoying the hell outta me and I'm too old for this shit." and goes straight into fighting (and killing) Shay. I feel as though Arno would have felt glad his father's killer was dead, but still empty knowing that killing Shay won't bring his father back, possibly could have gotten closure even. but the thing that I think it comes down to is since he was so young when his father was killed that it wouldn't hit him as hard as François de la Serre's death did. (ofc he loves his father still no matter what and it will always hurt as we see when he loses the pocket watch and panics over it since its the only thing he has that is connected with his father and he treasures it dearly). even though he knew Arno came from a family of Assassins and he himself (and Elise) being Templars, he didn't treat Arno differently nor did he look at Arno as an enemy. yes we find out that technically Arno didn't know he was an Assassin until he met Bellec in prison, but even then Arno still didn't see François de la Serre or Elise as enemies. the man took him in and raised him into adulthood. his and Elise's death broke poor Arno, and he felt alone since his father is dead, mother left him and his father as a child, adoptive father is dead, love of his life is dead, his mentor is dead (I was sad Arno had to kill him) and he was banished from the French Brotherhood. he literally had no one left, luckily he did get to keep the cafe. (poor Arno though 🥺😭).

and then leads to our broken Dead Kings! Arno.

Arno is my favorite assassin (followed by Connor & Ezio) and it makes me sad when people say that Arno & Connor are boring characters, and that Ezio & Altaïr are the best. I will stop there since I ended up ranting 🥲

OVERWHELMING w/ bakugou katsuki

everything i wrote for bakugou, i wrote with my SOUL, and as much as i am reluctant to admit it, i don't think i'll ever be able to write for another character like i do him. i genuinely adore everything i had for him because it was so... poetic. idk how did i did it for boom boom blasty boy, but i did, and that's crazy. what's crazier was the amount of people that ate it up every time, so all of my fics for bakugou i associate with very positive things. i wish i could recommend more, but i want other characters to shine too :>

in all seriousness, this piece for bkg i think stands out for me especially, i loved the progression of the 'overwhelming'... 'motif', there is just unmatched neediness that intersects with love here. writing for bakugou allowed me to pursue this destructive, desperate kind of love that i absolutely adore exploring, the kind of love that you hang onto despite knowing that you don't deserve it. you know that moment when you have such a gut-wrenching thought but can never find the right words to voice it? i never had any of those moments with bakugou. every thought that came to mind was written onto paper so effortlessly that i genuinely don't know what i was on when writing for him.

maybe one day i'll write for bakugou again. ha. let me finish the most recent season first.

BAD IDEA ! w/ suna rintarou

suna my absolute babie, some of you might have never heard of this, but this was truly my magnum opus, one of the first anime fics i've ever posted and it received such positive reactions that i couldn't help but continue writing for anime!

i adore the dialogue in this, the relationship between kuroo and reader is my favourite, ever, but do also just love flop!readers panicking over a cute guy before realising that said guy is also into them the same way. i recommend this fic to see where earthtooz began, and that was with suna rintarou carrying my anime beginnings LOL

SAFE w/ gojo satoru

my treasure... def one of the earlier pieces i've written, but still a goodie. back when i was still lost in trying to figure out a writing style HAHA but this is truly one of my favourite gojo fics. just- the desperation and devastation of potentially losing someone you care about is such a vulnerable topic, especially for gojo satoru, that this trope made me crumble when i wrote it. just him being so broken over the possibility of losing you and turning into a puddle at your feet at the thought of it- RAGHH

somehow one of my personal favourites of all time is for my blue lock ult bias' brother (whom i despise), but i do love this one. it's pretty clear that everyone else thought so too with how many sae reqs i got after this, not that i was complaining, but there is something so thigh-gripping about the intimacy i wrote in this one. no, it's not the most brightest i could come up with in terms of literature, but it was vulnerable, it characterised sae kind of well, and it was just a fic with a trope i love.
