Trese Family Headcanons
I randomly wanted to share some of my headcanons about the Trese family XD
It says in Bloodlines that Fr. Matt Trese had a “long and rebellious adolescence” that landed him in a seminary. It turned out ok though cus he found his calling and became a priest.
Imagining Matt as an edgy rebellious teen led me to examine the Trese family and that’s how I got these HC’s!
Carlos- Is the eldest so he probably had a lot of attention growing up, but also a lot of responsibility. I feel he wants to make his dad proud and if he has any issues, it has to do with the pressure of this. (Also I notice that despite being the eldest, he wasn’t the one to follow in their dad’s footsteps. That ended up being Alexandra, the youngest.) I feel Anton's death really affected him and is why he's such a vicious vigilante.
Rick- I HC that among all the Trese kids, Rick is closest to their lolo. They share similar interests and he ended up following in Alexander’s footsteps and became a professor of history and antiquities. Even physically, the two share similar traits. After the battle at the Balete Tree, Rick was the one to stay behind with his lolo while the other boys went to fight in the Underworld.
Jimmy- After reading his story in Vol. 7, I could not help but HC that Jimmy is a mama’s boy XD Jimmy is the youngest of the boys, has a very playful and charming personality (even claims to be “a lover, not a fighter”), and resembles Anton the most. He mentioned in his narration that he promised his mom he’d quit smoking (though he still does). Idk but I instantly imagined that he's closest to Miranda and she always had a soft spot for him!
Alexandra- Is the youngest and only living girl among the kids. Despite being the youngest, she was really more of her dad’s “heir” in the sense that she was the one who took up the mantle of Babaylan-Mandirigma. We see her as a young girl accompanying her dad to cases. She also has a whole prophecy about her. Similar to Carlos, I imagine she had a lot of attention from their parents growing up, especially their dad who she seems close to.
And that leaves us with Matt. When I examine the Trese family, I can’t find anyone whom he would be close to (though to be fair, we haven’t met their other relatives yet!). Not that he was neglected or anything! I’m sure his parents loved their kids equally. It’s just that it can be hard when you stick out in your family and there’s no one who really understands you.
Heck, even as a priest, Matt stands out in his family. Even though they all took different paths, everyone else is involved with Philippine mythology, spells, magic artifacts, and other things that the Church would consider “occult” or “pagan”. When Alexandra offers him one of their lolo’s artifacts for protection, Matt outright says that the Vatican “wouldn’t approve” of such items. Even as a well-adjusted adult, Matt stands out in his family. (And hey we can also think about what Matt’s colleageus think of his family given how the Church tends to view magic and witchcraft!)
This all ties back to Matt having had a “long and rebellious adolescence”.  I guess when I try to examine their dynamics, I can understand why that was!

A lot of people like the idea of a modern-ish retelling of Dororo. I personally think the 1980s or 90s would fit best for a punk or grunge vibe.
I'm still stuck on my Spanish-American Western Dororo reimagining phase, since Samurai to Cowboy stories transition pretty well due to the similar themes *coughZorrorocough*.
But I'm also starting to see it making more sense if there was a retelling that took place in Spanish-colonial Philippines since a mix of post colonial dysphoria and filipino superstition would fit well with original war-torn setting and supernatural horror of the original Dororo.
These are just ideas that have evolved in my head. Someone else could be pitching a space opera version else where. Search and Destroy already took on a Soviet Sci-Fi dystopia theme.

One of my favorite pages in the Trese Lite: Postcard Book 1 is the page where Alex is seen riding a paper boat with Crispin and Basilio in the land of the duwende (tiny earth-elemental creatures). It wasn’t shown much in the actual comics nor the Netflix show how they were like growing up together so this little peek was so nice!
The postcard is from Alex to her father and says the following:
Dear Papa,
All is well in the land of duwende. I feel you sent me here with the Kambal to learn something. We have not encountered any threats ever since we’ve arrived. I’m beginning to worry that I’ve begun to relax my defenses.
~Alex
I feel like Anton sent the kids there together to be able to bond with each other. More specifically, he wanted Alex to learn to trust and accept the Kambal since Alex was strongly against their adoption into the Trese family (she even wanted them killed). Being trained to be a Babaylan-Mandirigma from such a young age, I guess Anton also wanted Alex to have some fun memories to look back to from her childhood. The plan seems to be working with how Alex is able to feel relaxed with the boys in their trip. In the picture, the Kambal also look much more older than when they were taken in by Anton (in the comics). So, it really shows how slowly it took for Alex to finally accept them.

FEMALE MOVIE/TV RECS (PART 9 / ADULT & FAMILY ANIMATION)
got inspired from a recommendation post so decided to make a list of movies and shows with female-centric stories/female protagonists. since i can't post all of the genres in one post, i'll split it into multiple posts and y'all can save or add to the list as you wish. (disclaimer: i have watched most of these, but i only know about the existence of others. not every movie/show on these lists will be my recommendation. my recommendations will be beneath the list with reasons. also some of these are way better than others in terms of storytelling/performance--which is why i'll list my faves separately):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
Blue Eye Samurai (10/10) (super gritty, but the perfect revenge story, puts John Wick to shame)
Scavenger's Reign (8/10) (split story, but two of the main characters are women, and one is a black lesbian! fantastic animation, though don't watch if you're intensely trypophobic, it can be sci-fi horror)
Mulan (9/10) (one of the most perfect animated Disney classics)
Turning Red (8/10) (this movie remembered the tween era)
Tinkerbell (if you crave matriarchy, sisterhood, magic and female centric society and story, then you need to watch the Tinkerbell movies)
Wolfwalkers (7.5/10) (an anti-colonial, anti patriarchal, pro-pagan fantasy movie with beautiful animation and a very touching, female-centric story)
Arcane: League of Legends (10/10) (gorgeous animation, amazing writing, incredible performances, and don't get me started on the sisters that take centre stage--also, lesbianism and gender nonconformity!)
The Legend of Korra (8/10) (good writing, a badass protagonist, a fantastic cast of characters, beautiful scoring, beautiful animation, amazing action sequences)
PERSONAL NOTES
The Mitchells Vs The Machines is basically a drama between a lesbian girl and her dad who have to figure their relationship out while they're running from robots. It was full of heart and fun and had some good jokes in there. I'd definitely recommend it.
Raya & The Last Dragon is the first Disney movie with a gender non-conforming princess! It also has some of the best action sequences in any Disney animated movie, however it doesn't hold a candle to The Incredibles II, which stars Helen Parr as the main character of the film. It's one of my favourite films of all time because of how they depict Helen and the main villain of the story (a badass genius of a woman). Really pro-female films, even for all their flaws.
Abominable has some of the most gorgeous visuals I've seen outside of a Disney animation. The texturing and coloring is so vivid it makes my mouth water. It's far better than Over The Moon, but both have their own charm. Abominable and Home have very similar plots. Also, the girl in Home is voiced by Rihanna while Beyonce voices the queen of the faeries in Epic.
One movie that shares a similar theme (kindness to animals even if we don't understand them or they scare us) with Abominable is The Sea Beast. The Sea Beast is one of the best animations with a black female girl as a lead I've ever seen. There's also a badass black woman pirate. There are some scenes that could have been written (or colored) better, but I loved it either way. I think it was the first animated film to depict shrinkage for black hair! And it didn't lighten the skin or whiten the features of the black characters!
Many people view Frozen II and Brave as "almost" masterpieces whose writers ultimately failed them, and I can say that I agree to some extent. There are many things technically wrong with the movies. Minor details that set the pacing off or take away from the immersion. However, I still love both of them. I really love daughter vs mother and sister vs sister stories (that includes Tinkerbell: The Secret of The Wings) because there's so much to explore in such relationships. They also both have some killer soundtracks, some amazing visuals and well-executed action sequences. I've truly seen way worse than these two films, and the characters are mostly loveable.
The Breadwinner is an animated film about a girl dressing up like a boy under the rule of the Taliban so she can earn some money to help feed her family. It's scored very high by critics.
I'd also recommend The Owl House (even though there's some appeal to genderism in later seasons). It's the first time I've seen a bisexual animated character and the enemies to lovers arc with Luz and Amity is unmatched in cannon magic school stories. I also really love the depiction of The Owl Lady who is treated like a male character in that she is allowed to be non-maternal, single and old (and wrinkled), arrogant and boastful, all without the show trying to punish her for it. The Boiling Isles are also fascinating as a setting.
If you like The Owl House, there's a chance you'll love She-Ra. There were many things I found annoying about She-Ra, but my experience was mostly positive. I'm not the biggest fan of Catradora, but I do appreciate the drama. I loved the world-building and magic system mainly, so the character quirks didn't get to me as much as they have others. Also, amazing antagonists in this series. It could have been more mature, but it's still entertaining.
I also definitely recommend Home on The Range. It's a whole movie with talking animals, but there's no tomboy like the main female protagonist in a Disney movie. She is one of the most tomboy characters Disney ever made. Also, I love 2D animation and this film reminds me why. Also, the idea of a feminine, micromanaging old heifer, a bull-headed, roughhouse new girl cow, and a young airhead cow that can't sing going on an adventure across the wild west to save their human's (a sweet old lady with some bark and bite) farm? And they have to compete with a hotshot, asshole male horse who is young and fast? It's like the perfect western comedy but with cows!
Anyways, if you can't tell, I love animated stuff and a lot of these are my comfort movies.

[Trope Interest] Twin Bodyguards and Their Hunter Sister in Supernatural Works
Tumblr media
Source: Promotional/Cover Art for Kyousougiga, Jiu Jiu, and Trese
By: Peggy Sue Wood | @pswediting
For some time, I’ve been fascinated by the trope of twin bodyguards who can shapeshift from humans to dog forms and their accompanying female “hunter” character. I find it interesting that this trope appears with enough frequency to be noticeable, yet it lacks a specific name, unlike “Single-Mind Twins” or “Tag Team Twins.” There are several examples of this trope. To name a few examples, Kyousougiga (Japanese) features the character Koto being followed around by her “brothers,” A and Un; Jiu Jiu (Japanese) has Takamichi followed by her shape-shifting, half-demon wolf-dog familiars, Snow and Night; and Trese (Filipino) has Alexandra with her adopted brothers, Crispin and Basilio.
Upon further review, I think that the trope of twin sidekicks/bodyguards and female hunters in supernatural comics and animation likely draws from various sources of inspiration and cultural mythology. One possible influence is the traditional Japanese folklore of “Inugami,” or “dog spirit.” Inugami were said to be the spirits of dogs that were killed by humans and were often summoned and used for various purposes, including protection, curses, and revenge. In some stories, Inugami could take on human form and even possess humans and other animals. Interestingly, these spirits could become attached to bloodlines, following a family through their descendants.
Another possible influence is the Japanese mythology of Komainu, lion-dogs that guard the entrances of Shinto temples/shrines, or the Shisa, which serve a similar purpose. Both of these seem to have derived from the Chinese (or Imperial) guardian lions, which symbolize protection (one physical and one metaphysical). Either way, around the world and over time, dog spirits have often been portrayed as both guardians and harbingers.
While I’ve come to understand, at least in part, the dog-twins potential origins, I still struggle to understand or find a related myth to a singular female hunter-type character. There is Artemis, the famous greek/roman myth character who is goddess of the hunt, but her image and story rarely overlap with the hunter characters seen in works that have this two+one combination. Moreover, the close emotional bond that the three tend to share in the stories–often portrayed with familial-nature (adopted siblings with no romantic interests)–seems to be a significant factor in the continued use of this trope. Continuing in our prior examples, Koto is searching for the black rabbit/her mother; Takamichi is hunting demons, and Alexandra is after monsters.
The twin sidekicks are always depicted as “protectors” or “guardians” to a female lead, often with her occupying an adopted sister role rather than existing as a love interest. They are portrayed as loyal, fierce, and powerful, with the ability to transform into large, intimidating dog-like creatures to defend their master. Overall, the dog servants are depicted as essential members of the hunting team and play a significant role in the story.
Of course, the influences behind Kyousougiga, Jiu Jiu, and Trese may have come from other supernatural comics and anime that have used similar tropes in the past. They may also have combined these cultural sources with their own stories to create a unique take. Regardless, it is an interesting trope to examine, and I continue to wonder about its specific origins.
If you have any ideas about the specific source(s) for this trope, I hope you will share them with me in a comment or message as I really do not know and am very interested to learn about this idea. Thank you for reading!

Sibling moment
[ID: Two doodles of Crispin and Basilio from the show "Trese". Crispin is the older brother with short black hair, while Basilio is the younger brother, having long black hair brushing past his shoulders. They are both wearing black suits and have black eyes.
In the first doodle, they are seen laughing and wrapping an arm around each other's shoulders in a familial gesture.
In the second doodle, Basilio is looking nervous as he stretches out his arm, revealing a black spider crawling on it. Crispin, with a serious expression, is clutching a gun and aiming it at the spider crawling on his little brother's arm. Alexandra Trese, the female protagonist of the show, could be seen in the background facepalming and muttering, "Pastilan". END ID]

hiiii! I love pocnatural and wanted to ask if you have any asiannatural headcanons ?
Hello Wanni!
I have spent a non insubstantial amount of time thinking about what supernatural would be like if it was set in the Philippines. (A lot of asiannatural headcanons approach it from the winchesters as asian people living in the United States angle, but I do not have that experience and so doesn’t really do much for me).
The thing is, the attitudes towards hunting would be completely different because most mythical creatures in the Philippines are fully believed by people. I believe in ghosts. I believe in aswangs and nunos and duwendes. Everyone in my family does too, as well as most people I know. Even the people who don’t fully believe will still do the things you ought to do to avoid these creatures or show respect “just in case”. When I was a kid there’s always news reports about some school experiencing a mass demonic possession.
Because of this I think perhaps being a hunter is just not something someone can be in the Philippines, because most people believe and therefore do the things to not be harmed and would not require outsider help. When someone is pregnant in our provincial house, we place a stingray tail by the window, which is assumed to keep the aswangs at bay. My mom salts her second hand buys to cleanse it of the past owner’s soul in case that person died. What else would we need Sam and Dean for?
To be fair, a lot of these experiences of mine are provincial in nature. It could be funny to have Sam and Dean be provincial boys who go to Manila for unrelated reasons and are so tired at these city people stepping on duwende areas and not saying excuse me first and then getting cursed.
Many people in my life who know me as a Supernatural fan actually has recommended to me an animated show that is allegedly “like filipino supernatural”. I have not watched it, but if you wanna check it out, it’s called Trese!
Also, while pondering over this ask I came across this tweet.
Tumblr media
Anyway my newest supernatural spinoff, “filipino sam and dean”, will go on for eternity for “setting forward race relations to the 2300s” so we’re all good.

Pokemon characters that are Filipino. TO ME.
Brendan
He just strikes me as your typical Filipino kid. Does the thing where he jumps whenever he comes across a door to slap the door frame. Dribbles the air without a ball. Also Hoenn is pretty much the Philippines of the Pokemon world anyways. (Too much water, fucked up weather, weird shit happening)
Juliana
Okay, she's half Spanish, half Filipino, but whatevs. You can barely tell anyways. More fluent in speaking Filipino tho. Says, "Mama mo"[1] whenever she's being teased and she gets annoyed with them
Cheren
Just trust me on this one, he's Filipino. To Me. He's technically half, but the Filipino genes are strong. Speaks in conyo[2] sometimes because I like making fun of him, and also not very fluent in Filipino in the first place (raised in Unova which is the equivalent of America)
Crispin
His name is Crispin, what did you expect me to do, huh. That's the most Filipino sounding name I've ever seen in the whole Pokemon franchise. Also made me think of Crispin from Noli me Tangere and another Crispin from Trese. Just trust me on this one, okay
Gou
He's Filipino. Trust. Definitely somewhere from the province. Starts muttering in Bikol[3] with the most intense accent ever whenever he's frustrated. Okay, actually Gou is from Albay, Philippines now because I say so. Chucking this boy into Albay.
TLs:
[1]: Mama mo = Your mom
[2]: Conyo is basically Taglish (Tagalog + English). It's also usually used to refer to people who are from rich families and they usually speak in Taglish. Example: "Let's punta (go) sa mall bukas (tomorrow)." It's kind of cringe or weird to hear especially if you're a native Filipino speaker (and especially if you're from the province).
[3]: Language spoken in the Bicol region which is composed of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Masbate. Bicol is the region, Bikol is the language. It's kind of hard to explain, but every region has like different ways of saying things.

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last ten people however many you want who reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals & followers!! <3
Hmmm... I'd say rn I'm really happy since I recently went to a con and got to meet one of the creators of Trese and bought 2 signed copies, books 4 and 5 since I already had 1-3. It's a short read but it's deff a fun one. I highly reccomend reading Trese. It's like a noir detective comic with Filipino culture mixed into it. It's fun seeing Filipino mythical creatures I know and love and learn about ones I haven't heard of before. It's also a treat to see places I've been to in the books and be like 'Hey I was just there!' esp since I mostly consume foreign media and it doesn't happen that often to me.
Another is Changing History and its aus on Quotev. I'm not really in the MHA fandom anymore and I haven't really watched or read the anime and manga for years now but I love the story of CH. It's not canon compliant and it's a multiple x reader but I reccomend it if you're into that kind of fic.
I've also been playing Baldur's Gate 3 with my uncle which is a very fun and different experience for me since I'm a I will bend over backwards to make sure my companions do not ever dissaproved of me while also making sure I never act rude to a character or else I'll cry (unless it's funny or the character is a bitch) kind of player while he's more of a lmao Imma be a massive asshole to everyone and be the most evil piece of shit for the lols kind of player. So I kinda end up becoming corrupted lmao.
I've also always had an interest in the sea. Sea creatures to be specific. I love learning about them and sometimes just watching them. My mom used to find it funny how I would just watch the aquarium channel on the tv. I started off just reading about fishes and the like on those big encyclopedias. For some reason my family gave me a lot as a kid and I favored the ones about animals. I also read the ones at our school library. Nowadays, I like to watch those deep sea exploration streams and I'm actually currently studying to become a marine biologist!
Last but not least, my friends and family. It's been a rough couple of years especially the last one. My mom just died from cancer last December, a few weeks before my birthday. I wish my mom had been there on my bday but I'm at least grateful she got to see pictures of my early celebration with friends--We celebrated a month early since it gets too hectic during December. It's nice to see my friends supporting me and recently I've been getting closer with my family. I rarely interacted with my family that much, perhaps only during the December holidays and rare family get togethers, but I suppose they sensed that I really needed to get out more often and reached out to me more often. It makes me happy.

Best Underrated Anime Group A Round 2: #A5 vs #A8
#A5: Two girls unravel mysteries surrounding an isolated manor
#A8: Badass woman deals with the supernatural
Titles, summary, trailers, propaganda, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#A5: Shadows House
youtube
Summary:
The Shadows, characterized by their pitch-black appearance and tendency to emit soot when agitated, are a family of nobles who reside in a colossal manor deep within the mountains far from other humans. When a Shadow child is nearly of-age, they are assigned a Living Doll who acts not only as their attendant but also as their second half—the faces they could have had if not for their complexion.
Emilico is a cheerful, newly created Doll who serves a rather soft-spoken master named Kate. Despite their difference in personalities, Emilico does what she can to carry out the needs of her master. As she learns more about her role and duty, Emilico begins to meet her fellow Dolls and their respective masters and comes to know more about the purpose of her existence.
"Do not fret over trivial matters," says one of the rules by which all Dolls must abide. But how could the ever-curious Emilico do so in the face of the deep secrets that the Shadows House holds?
Propaganda:
The atmosphere of the manor is probably the most effective aspects of the story, creating a feeling of isolation and worry as Kate and Emilico try to survive in the mansion. The show starts off pretty subtle, but as it progresses it becomes more and more strange and off-putting. This series is an incredibly interesting, layered mystery, and the horror elements are excellently done.
Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Emotional Abuse
Tumblr media
#A8: Trese
youtube
Summary:
In Manila, where dark supernatural forces pervade the criminal underworld, it’s up to one woman to keep the peace—but there’s a storm brewing.
Propaganda:
It’s the first Filipino anime (at least, that I know of) to feature the country’s supernatural creatures, so if you’ve only watched Japanese anime up to now, you will find the magic in Trese very novel. I also like how the protagonist is a woman when the Lakan, in Philippine history, tended to be a man. She’s also quite badass. Although she has two bulky twin sidekicks who can serve as her bodyguards, she is in no way less than them when it comes to fighting. The show’s on Netflix with different language audios. If you’re gonna watch it in English, you can even hear Dante Basco (Zuko’s voice actor) voicing one of the minor characters.
Trigger Warnings:
Child Abuse – for the episode about a reanimated baby
There’s Violence from fight scenes. There’s also Gore for when the monsters get killed brutally, but because of the art style, it doesn’t appear that extreme.

Trese Spinoff Part 1 (NCIA agent.) (based on the Netflix adaptation.)
Genre: Action, Adventure.
Reader Profile:
Gender: Male
Age: 25/same to Alex
Relationships: Unnamed mother, Unnamed Father, Alex/Cousin, (S/N)/sister, (B/N)/Brother), Crispin and Basilio/ adopted cousins, and five more cousins (Alex's twin and her bros) just frickin research!
11:30 Am, you were at NAIA Terminal 4, a man is asleep right at the Air Asia stand. Or is he. Your job is to frame the S.P.L.A. (Supernatural Paranormal Liberation Group) a terrorist group. You go into the airport and you need to find the profile of the person you need to frame. You can't simply ask them all, so you head to the tourist information and steal an ID. You take it to question the tourists, thank god there are only a few today. The profile you need is: Scientist, Beach, Cebu Pacific. After a few interviews, you found her. You need to get a passport to get a bag to place the dead guy on the bench in. You find the identical bag and take the name of the owner. You head to the check in and try to get the passport, you need one now. But of course, the girl behind the counter isn't stupid, she wont give a passport belonging to Linda Crisencia when you literally are a dude. You need to get that lady out of there. You bought a soda and pretend to spill it next to the counter.
"oops, sorry..."
You pretend.
"Ugh! Read signs! Bulag ka?"
You get to the computer and take the duplicate passport. As you do this, your sister powers off all cameras. You manage to get the passport and you take the similar looking bag, you take it and place the body inside, but one last touch, removing the stickers. Luckily, you always bring alcohol with you. You take the stickers off and replace the bag, you get into the van with your sister and drive off.
As you drive, your sister starts to make fun of you.
"If you were smart enough, you could've just slipped the bag away from the security without making a dumb passport."
She says annoyingly.
"At least I do things planned unlike you!"
You start trash talking and roasting each other.
You arrived at HQ where you finally head to your office. You've been secretly investigating a case about a specific person named Alexandra Trese. You believe she is your cousin as you remember your family roots involved babaylan, real ones. Not dumb-ass witch doctors. The story of your mother was that she had a brother who was a babaylan. She never mentioned any other details about that brother of hers. She said that she had no powers and her only way to be a babaylan was to learn how to do healing magic. Too bad she wasn't born with this ability. But she was smart in science, she constructed a kris knife after Sinag was created (similar to Alex's) that can control atoms and form powers and create heat and could do the same things the Sinag can. Her family didn't accept her work so she ran away and continued her work. The NCIA discovered this and with the help of the NBI, they took her in and recruited and trained her. Then she became an agent where she met my dad.
Soon I heard a terrorist group is about to attack another MRT train with aswangs. You head to the coordinates.
I stood with another bunch of agents and my sister calculated the speed and trajectory of the jump I will make to land exactly in the train windows. One mistake then we all fail this mission.
"I got the calculations!"
"Make sure that's right."
You tell her. And she frowned before side eying you.
I immediately jump off the building and I landed right in the train windows causing the windows to break. I kicked the aswangs and threw them outside the train. I held the heads of two aswangs before cymbaling their heads with each other. I grapple the other before i stab him with my kris kick him to another agent that finishes him off. Your sister took her gun and shot the aswangs. The train stops at Shaw Blvd. And I got off. I realise, Alex will show up because the lack of information regarding the attacks will lead people to relate this to the Aswang Clan.
Next morning me and other agents arrived in black cars with our suits on right at the site for the attack and i was right, Alex will be there.
"Who are these guys?"
Her short haired bodyguard asks.
"Gago! They look like the frickin men in black!"
"If you put glasses on both of you, you'll look like them."
Alex replied to her long haired bodyguard.
"Let the professionals handle this!"
I told the cops.
"Who are you!? Who do you think you are!!!"
Alex asks angrily.
"The professionals."
You reply. Before heading to the scene and start convincing everyone it's just the aswang clan. You do this to reduce panick. You head back to Alex.
"Sorry for interrupting, by the way, im (y/n)! And this is by sister (s/n)."
I say while gesturing to my sister.
"Im Alexandra Trese, an asset of the Manila police in supernatural cases. These are Crispin and-"
"Let me guess the other, its ummm... Basilio?"
"Yeah, stop by my bar sometime."
For now, thats all folks!

THE BEAUTY OF THE MUNDANE LIFE OF HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS: A CLUSTERF*****
(the intro)
a snippet
The sound reverberated, flew into the winds the afternoon flowing into evening. The summer sun still held onto the sky as if it was early, just barely noon. The wisps of the cry of the blooming teenager fell into the richer neighbourhoods, through a gated community, full of expensive cars and mowed lawns and perfect little families. Spouses and children and the cars. So many expensive cars accompanied by mansions, one story for the less privileged and two stories or even higher for those who could obviously afford it.
“I love you, Jennifer!”
The next blooming and budding girl answered this love confession with a sigh and a grimace.
The boy holding out the flowers with a hopeful look, quickly retracted and horror overtook his features as he gasped, “Did you just grimace?”
(Oh, fuck, she did not mean to do that.) Oh, fuck, she did not mean to do that. Jennifer got a hold of herself again, throwing her inky black treses over her shoulder, masking her disdain with something of a, sort of, interest? A look that said ‘uhu, keep going,’ she used that one on the teachers a lot, it always worked. She so wanted to slam the door in his face but she couldn’t do that. She was better than that. (Hmm…)
“No, Jonah,” She smiled, “listen, you’re a great guy,”
He nodded in a hopeful agreement. Nice guys always wanted to hear that they were nice guys, even if they weren’t.
“But I’m in mourning right now, Oliver died just a couple of days ago,” His face turned into an animated worry, she nodded pouting, tucking a strand behind her ear. “It just doesn’t feel right to… date so soon after his death.”
“Oh no,” He whispered, the flowers seemed to wither slightly at his sadness. “Oliver was like your favourite dog.”
“He is ‒was,” She quickly added, “he really was, so… you understand right?”
She batted her eyelashes, she knew that widening her blue vibrant eyes slightly would work like a charm. He had to leave, like, right now. The neighbours jogging by were starting the stare and there was no way she would be seen with the likes of someone like Jonah. She shuddered at the thought and his poor choice of style.
“Yes,” He whispered, nodding. Jennifer's shoulders slumped in relief. This was going well. “I’ll wait for you.”
What.
(What?)
“I’m sorry what?”
“You need time right? So I’ll wait, I can wait forever!”
“Uh,” She stammered, “maybe… don’t do that?”
“I’ll be here until the end of time! Jennifer Lovesteine! For you I’ll wait forever!”
He exclaimed it loudly, so that it echoed not only into the street but also in her mind to her absolute horror.“Jonah? Jonah! Get back here ‒that’s not what I ‒” When Mrs. Bell cast a concerned look her way while watering her plants, Jennifer laughed awkwardly.
“He is…” She watched him skip into the sunset, clicking his heels. “Unwell.”
