As far as I can tell, girlposting on Tumblr operates according to roughly the same principles as the Border Mythic in the tabletop roleplaying game Nobilis: specifically, it is the power of attention which distinguishes a girl from her environment. Not only may any thing be a girl, but each constituent of a girl may itself be raised from the welter of experience and awakened to girlhood through the power of diligent observation.
