Who has been screwed over by the fandom more?
Propaganda below the cut
Monaca Towa:
her existence makes the game and its world more interesting, when you think about it she is the one who manufactured and designed the evil robots. Basically funding the destruction of the world for the only person she thought understood her. And she knows she was being manipulated and just is ok with that because everyone in her life is manipulative. Reading her diary one of her last pages is about how much she wants to die.And for a game about how adults should protect children, she is the only child to not get saved. I’m not saying she should’ve been redeemed she’s a manipulative liar, abuser, and murderer but her existence shows the corruption of this world.
I understand most people don’t like her. That’s understandable she’s completely and purposefully designed to be hate able but I love her. And the game is more interesting with her than without
Chara Dreemurr:
They were constantly blamed for killing all of monster kind in the no mercy route, despite players choosing to go that route. People ignored that they sacrificed themselves to attempt to free the monsters from the underground.
----
everyone wants to blame their own actions (genocide route) on chara, who is a literal child. i don’t know how to tell you this but you are the one playing the game. it’s about YOUR CHOICES. chara is there is punish you for that, you killed the only family that ever loved them! how could they not be upset at that! also if you don’t mind, here’s a good video essay on the subject

re: udg reblog,
clearly the solution to “oh i love this but i don’t think anyone should play it” is to write a fic with only the good parts and none of the bad parts but then you have this big empty space where the bad parts were so you just make something up that seems vaguely believable
that seems like a normal thing normal people do right?
RIGHT?
It’s always correct and totally won’t ever lead to agony as you look at the canon and scream because my god how are you supposed to salvage something this stupid why are you doing this you used to be so normal and not care oh god why does attacking the little girl make her pants fly off oh god why is delta a character

Out of curiosity, in the V3 remnant au are the Warriors of Hope still around? And out of curiosity how would they view the remnants? I love your remnant aus btw!!
(Just gonna preface this by saying I’ve yet to actually watch a playthrough of UDG’s, so I know very little about the game or the characters over all)
Yes! The Warriors of Hope are definitely still a thing in the au! Honestly I don’t think much about them would change with a different set of remnants, the Warriors of Hope seem mostly like a contained unit, aside from Nagito I guess. But I mean I think they can still function without him.
I don’t think any of the remnants stay with them like Nagito did, but they definitely do interact a couple of times. Maki and Kaito are for sure their favorites of the remnants. Everyone still kind of thought Maki‘s talent was ultimate child caregiver for a while so she often got sent to go deal with the Warriors of Hope. And then of course with Maki comes Kaito, who is great with the kids and they think he’s fantastic. He's goofy and he picks them up and throws the kids and stuff like that lol, you know the kind of thing you do with little kids.
It’s a bit of a double edged sword for the two of them though, I think the moments of normalicy with the kids just sort of highlights everything else that’s going on. Definitely kinda a ‘what could have been’ thing too.

Loser Round 3: Monaca Towa (Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls) vs. Damian Wayne (DC)
Propaganda below the cut
Monaca Towa (10-12):
her existence makes the game and its world more interesting, when you think about it she is the one who manufactured and designed the evil robots.
And the game is more interesting with her than without
Damian Wayne (9-14):
Damian is a kid who was raised as an assassin and because of that when he first appears he has some really messed up ideas of how to prove himself to his father by being aggressive with the criminals they capture and attacking his brother. Because of this people act like he is the most evil character ever and refuse to give him any grace. They make him out to be this awful irredeemable monster who just wants to kill his brother and hurt people. If the fandom isn’t making his out to be The Worst(tm) then they are ignoring his existence all-together. He is a really interesting character who has done some not so great things but he’s grown and learned a lot through various character arcs (as much of an arc as a comic book character can have) and he deserves to be acknowledged for himself and not just as a villain so that people can woobify his brother.
——
HES JUST A LITTLE BABY GUY!!!!! Little baby man raised as an assassin and learning how to be a real person <3. But because he was kind of a dick and also a little stabby early-on, especially to the fandom's main "so sad uwu depressed baby" blorbo (and also he's not white), people treat him like he's satan incarnate
