Not to be that guy, but... hey he/they trans guys, I just wanna ask. Do you use "they" because it feels right... because it clicks as part of your identity... or because it doesn't hurt as much as she/her, so it must be okay.

And don't just evaluate this for they/them. Evaluate it for he/him as well. "I'm a guy so I have to use he/him" no the fuck you do not. Plenty of guys use they/them. Plenty of guys use she/her. Plenty use it/its/ve/vir/ce/cir and are still men. If he/him doesn't fit, you don't fucking have to use he/him and it doesn't make you any less of a man. You know that... right?

Also before this post starts an argument I am not pissing on he/they pronoun users I am simply reminding all you transmascs that there is no obligation binding you to those specific pronouns... a post I needed to see myself.

It's a method of discrimination by white supremacists, not a way for mixed race people that you think are unworthy of speaking to "claim" to be black. I don't know if mapanou has ever seen me, because I barely know them and certainly didn't share with them, but I have been doxxed plenty and my pics probably shared to them by others and im obviously not white though i am light skinned. im very proud of my dark natural hair, brown eyes, thick lips and big nose that I all got from my father. Hi! @afiananvandot So it is clear to me that you have never heard of a headcanon before. Gonna put this definition here for you just so you won't be shocked whenever you consume any media on the internet ever.

Headcanon refers to something that a fan imagines to be true about a character even though no information supporting that belief is spelled out in the text.

Funnily enough, there is some evidence in the original media that could support the headcanon, but I'll save that for a different post. Some other day. <3

I'd also like to add that Owen Dennis believes in Death of the Author.

He has also implied that he was turned down from adding queer characters, and he (for obvious reasons) couldn't just state who.

Also, to be clear, not every nonbinary person magically knows they're nonbinary at 13. I can assure you I didn't figure out my gender until I was at least 20. It's a fair assumption that Lake- a character who has had little chance to experience life and be theirself- might not figure that out during the duration of the show.

oooh, this is actually something i've wanted to talk about for a while!!!

so! something really interesting about the daycare attendant is how inconsistent their pronouns (and even their gender) have been across all sorts of media

to start: in the games (both security breach and ruin), the daycare attendant is only ever referred to with it/its pronouns. freddy uses these pronouns for them in sb, so it was theorized for a little bit that maybe this is because he just didn't like them (for some reason), but then once ruin came along and these pronouns were used for them again, it seems like that's just the pronouns they're referred to with!

but here's where our first inconsistency is! because their voice actor, kellen goff, is a man. so that means the daycare attendant has a masc sounding voice, and i believe this is where the majority of people get the he/him pronouns from. (also, their in game file names are called "sunman" and "moonman" respectively, so that's another little thing that points towards them being boys.)

(one last thing to mention about the games is the gendered bathrooms in security breach, which has moon as the mascot for the daycare's men's bathroom, and sun as the mascot for the daycare's women's bathrooms... just a fun thing to mention)

however, that's not the end of it! they're also in a couple books too.

starting with the guidebooks: the afk "security breach files" guidebook uses it/its, while the fnaf encyclopedia uses he/him for both. (but considering the amount of errors this book has i'd actually take that info with a grain of salt).

and in the two "tales of the pizzaplex" stories they're mentioned in, which are "the bobbiedots part 1" and "somniphobia", i believe they're referred to with it/its too? but i don't own the books so correct me if im wrong :p

one final "official" source to mention is all their youtooz merch, which actually uses they/them to refer to both of them, not just the two of them together! which is pretty interesting too

when it comes to online communities though... the majority of fans just use he/him for the dca, because they're typically just perceived as male due to their voice! (though i've heard that before the games release a couple people thought sun was female?) but overall they're widely perceived as masculine, so i can understand the confusion... but i hope this post was able to teach you something!

The thing about Naoto's arc is that if you insist on reading it solely as a story about sexism and Naoto only presents as male to avoid workplace sexism...

Then it's a shitty arc that fails at that goal? Because you'd like. Expect as part of that arc to have Naoto embrace feminity, say "I'm good enough on my own I don't need to present as male to get what I want" and in general be the most generic 90s-mid 2000s baby's first feminism arc but it ISN'T

Like. Ok sure some of the spin offs that take place post game give Naoto a more feminine design but the base game itself? Getting Naoto to dress in a skirt is like pulling teeth.

I cannot stress this enough guys, Disney's Mulan does not have Mulan continue to present as Ping once she is found out (and I don't say this to deny a trans reading of Mulan. I'm saying this as a basic point of comparison for a cis reading of Naoto)

Like what is Cis Naoto's story? "She presents as a dude to gain more respect. When she is in a peer group that doesn't care about her gender... she still presents as male because she can never really overcome the sexism of broader society by being herself?"

Yeah, what a great thing to implicitly tell your female players, and yet it never comes up?

Almost like people who are emphatically against a queer reading of Naoto's arc haven't really thought through the implications of a straight/cis reading either, they just say "it's about sexism, idiot" and leave it at that
