Nooshy vs Johnny

My favourite thing about writing the differences between characters so far has to be Nooshy and Johnny... because they are the most chaotic siblings imaginable. 

Nooshy’s entire personality is “Fuck it, we ball”, “YOLO”, and “What’s the worst that could happen”, while Johnny over here is the living incarnation of “Oh gods no, whyyyyy”, “I want to go home”, and “Can I please just sit this one out”.

And meanwhile Marcus is in the background five seconds from having either a heart attack or and aneurism wondering how the hell he’s supposed to manage these two and Stan and Barry are so confused on how their niephew and nephew turned out to be exact mini versions of them.

He bites. He is a massive biter. He will bite you. Pretty ticklish but almost impossible to get to because he’s already constantly thrashing around anyway

Tweek is underestimated as a ler. I feel like he could DESTROY many if he wanted to. He could absolutely wreck someone with his wild twitchy fingers and could hold them still pretty well. Usually doesn’t though because it’s too much pressure

I saw your tags in my post!!!! AND I'M SO SURE YUI PARENTS ARE DEAD!!! But they died when he was still really young so he doesn't really remember them. I'm so curious on what other people think about his childhood. In my mind he was a chaotic child who performed tricks for his Aunty.

The way Auntie says it in the first episode, it really does sound like... she promised his parents a long time ago, and it is something much-mentioned between the two.

I actually have a theory based on Auntie's appearances and what she says, that she decided to make a kind of larger white lie about herself to Usagi, and that she is actually his grandma and for some reason has asked to be called auntie. So many if us assume that she is literally, his aunt, but the way I understand it as a non-native speaker, auntie in english can mean an elderly woman as well, regardless of actual familial connection.

there's also how the japanese dub has translated her as obaa-chan, grandma, which can be used for any older grandma-age lady too. then also how Stan Sakai calls her Usagi's grandma in interviews.

so where I'm getting to with this is that maybe it's a painful topic for her, whether it was her sibling or her own child who died, but it seems she's gone through a lot and maybe omits details about what happened to Yuichi's parents. In any case, she had made a promise to Usagi's parents and we don't know much beyond that. If we go more into headcanon than theory territory, we could expand on what's implied in the show. What if besides looking after the boy, they also asked her to promise to look after him as her own? And so she became Auntie, instead of only Grandma.

Or it could even just be a personal preference! I have an aunt thru marriage who right-off-the-bat requested to be called by name instead of "aunt" or "auntie" because those monikers felt old to her.

Perhaps for Usagi's auntie, it was similar and she felt that because he couldn't experience having parents, at least he could experience having an auntie, and that's what she asked for him to call. Not an older grandma, but an experienced auntie. Altho that's not what those words have to mean, it is just speculation from me based on how she's written. Also, because she seems to be a war veteran (the prosthetics and experienced skill despite her old age), she might have things to hide. so perhaps she prefers something familial and close what a family member would call her, but not her full or real name, as perhaps the boy's parenrs would have called her.

Just some thoughts!

My theories on what actually happened to his parents range depending on what I take as a jumping-off point for the theory. Easiest and most extreme example; Perhaps the wars were recent and they died there? Maybe they even had more kids before Usagi? Because Usagi's name also includes Yuichi tho, with the meaning of "first-born brave son", perhaps not. Another theory I had earlier in s1, is that they went to the city, related to their farm, perhaps they needed investors or were doing business of some kind. What happens next branches off - it could have been a simple mugging or other crime that left them vulnerable or hurt enough that they couldn't get help anymore.

One of the theories I have is that it is related to some gang wars that took place over 10 years before the events of the series and Usagi's 16th birthday in ep 1. I'm going to use this one in my Neo Edo Idol fanstory because it seems to fit the best there ^^ It's implied by how the three main gangs in the series basically exist in a corrupt way where they can both tell the Shogun what to so, but are also sequestered off into their of territories, that probably things weren't so great before, but under the semi-corrupt Lord Kogane, they exist in a standstill. So maybe Usagi's parents found their ends in whatever went on with the gangs 10+ years ago.

If we tie it with the fact that a big criminal was alao going around the city causing problems, mentioned in Gen and Toshiko's flashbacks about their mom's praxis, we can get another interesting connection. Maybe Usagi's parents were victims of this black wolf. There's even the theory that maybe... this could be related to Jei, known from the comics and that this character is a nod to him. Whether a descendant or a random black wolf possessed by Jei, it is an interesting nod. So 2 things could have happened. Or any number of things really! Mainly I am thinking, maybe Usagi's parents got hurt by Okami, and died then and there; Possibly, they could have been hurt by either Okami or anyone or anything else, but then couldn't get help because the city's only working hospital was closed because of him. It's interesting to think about! I hope someone else makes these connections in their Usagi Chronicles fanstories as well :)

Anyway, this became a whole big tangent answrr lol ^^; but thanks for talking about this! lolol I love talking about this sjow and Usagi's parents and what happened to them, any details about them... they are like one of the biggest unknown mysteries to me haha and it would be really cool to get something like a FAQ or some companion piece/comic where we get more fleshed-out lore for them too ^^

Of course, since the series was made inspired by Senso and Space Usagi, it's likely we'll never find out, but it's fun to think that maybe the writers, storyboarders and showrunners all hax some small ideas about his parents, and that these ideas simply weren't used for time reasons...

HISTORY

Wesley was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee in the late 1800's. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the army and that was pretty much the extent of his life. He fought in world war 1 which is where he essentially "died" being saved by a vampire that turned him.

He spent most of his vampire life travelling around the world, fought in world war 2 just for the hell of it before he eventually met the remarkable Rebekah Mikaelson and fell head over heels for her. HISTORY

Born and raised for a small portion of his childhood in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Christofferson and his twin brother were taught both English and Russian from the start. Their parents ranks within their current pack on the higher side.

They had two younger brothers and a younger sister, the two youngest being born years later after their arrival in America. 

Moving to America hadn’t been an easy choice for the family, Chris and his twin being 13 at the time. The choice was made simply once their pack had been massacred by a rival pack, their father included.

Upon their move to America, they joined a pack in Boston which is also where Christofferson ended up getting his degree in culinary arts at Boston University. 

His mother remarried to the alpha of the Boston pack a few years after arriving to America and had his youngest two siblings with this man.

When hunter’s attacked their pack, Chris and had ensured he got the younger siblings to safety while his twin searched for their mother, only to come back with glowing red eyes and an anger burning in them. 

The forming of the new Boston pack was rough at first, the few memories that had survived the hunters joining as they began recruiting new wolves.

4 years ago, Chris met a girl, proposing two years into their relationship. She’s been in Creations Peak the last two years and he’s finally left his pack to join her and hopefully settle down with her.

HISTORY

Wesley, like his siblings, had never known a life outside of magic. Their mother and father were witches of the French Quarter and Wes and his siblings grew up abiding by the traditions and expectations set by the coven. The coven was split into different factions, each following their own rules and regulations, but all practiced Ancestral magic, drawing their power from the consecrated ancestors buried in the French quarter of New Orleans. Due to their power coming from the deceased, this meant that Wesley and his family were not permitted to leave, if they did they would be cut off from their connection to the magic and abandoning their legacy. This was something of which Wesley’s elder sister dared to do and as a result, was shunned from their coven for turning her back. Wes and his family weren’t immune to the rules beneath Marcel’s reign. His ban of magic in New Orleans when he was a teenager meant that they could no longer practice and under his strict rule, any witch caught practicing would be killed. Unfortunately, Wesley’s mother was one of the fallen. She had attempted to challenge one of Marcel’s vampires and as a result of Davina’s ability to locate those performing magic, she was subsequently murdered. When their father protested and sought revenge, he too was murdered at the hands of a vampire. I’ll write more later. 

The gist of his later adulthood is basically he went to business school at 18, he enlisted in the army where he spent the next 15 years moving up in ranks before retiring at 33 as a Sergeant First Class and returning home to New Orleans. He helped put Cecelia through medical school sending a little extra for her and his niece and also ensured that Tara and her kids (being they were his twin brothers kids) were taken care of. He eventually fell in love with Addison Kenner (Tara’s younger sister). The pair dated for a few years before he popped the question. They have a 2 year old daughter together named Riley and they secretly got legally married in a courthouse but aren’t telling anyone until they’re able to have an actual wedding. Upon his return to New Orleans he also opened a restaurant called A La Cordeaux where he not only runs the restaurant but also cooks there.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

Well…yes. Pretty much all of them lol. I tend to check fandoms out, suss the vibe…and then retreat into my tiny little corner with friends—or the hope that friends will join me eventually. I still love the media, of course, and with care I can still build a following I enjoy. But the fandom at large…*shudder*

Specifically, though—the Supernatural fandom, or should I call it the supernatural-adjacent fandom. The one more concerned with bts drama and shippers’ behavior (and taking shippers’ word as gospel) than the actual show, story, and characters. (As a side note, it amazes me how many otherwise respectable creators on, like, YouTube who are intelligent and articulate and well-versed in their subject areas will get on camera and straight-up lie about Supernatural. What does this show do to people??)

The Teen Wolf fandom at large on here is…very annoying. Aside from the ship wars, there’s a long-running feud between Scott stans and Derek stans, and both sides are bitter and miserable and I just want to talk about Stydia, but both sides hate Stydia. So yeah, I ducked out of that fandom too.

Oh, so many! Cobra Kai first comes to mind thanks to Em, and Naila has taught me all about f1 racing this year. Steph isn’t on here as much anymore, but I know all about 911 thanks to her. Kitsu and Raphael are teaching me all about the Promised Neverland and how awful the anime adaptation is. Oh, and Critical Role! I am still quite ignorant of the second and third campaigns, but Aeru is keeping me up to date via dash osmosis.

And of course I can’t forget Penny’s chaotic liveblogs of Suck Session, BrBa, and now BCS—or should I just call it the Lalo show? (The main reason I’m not tagging all of y’all is because I don’t wanna figure out what Penny’s url is right now)

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

Well, my mind is laser focused on the golden boys right now, so…

What about an Outlander AU? Alphonse, a combat medic, is thrown centuries back in time into a hostile environment, caught in a war he has no stake in. He meets Edward, a snarky but kindhearted victim of the bloodshed with a missing leg. Al uses his modern knowledge to fashion him a proper prosthesis (automail? Who knows, I’m making this up as I go) and the two develop a close bond.

By the time Alphonse deduces that this boy from the past is actually his ancestor, he’s too in love to care. Further secrets are revealed when Ed discovers Al’s chest bindings and, well…lack of certain male parts. The two may or may not be made to marry by the community Ed is a part of. Will their love disrupt history? Will Alphonse cease to exist? Will they create a new branch on the family tree? Who knows! Definitely not me, I just made this up!
