And a lot of people will be all in favor of legalizing weed because "actually weed has a lot of useful qualities for a lot of people" and I am not disagreeing with that argument at all, but actually the reason why we should decriminalize drugs is because criminalizing them ruins lives and kills people. Like the issue is not that they accidentally criminalized one useful substance, it's that turning a debilitating illness into a law enforcement issue is a problem regardless of how dangerous the drug of choice is

genuinely so many of you want to be leftist and "punk" and countercultural soooooo bad but you refuse to become comfortable with the concept of people taking drugs for fun because they like it and not because they were somehow tricked or forced into it without knowing what they were getting themselves into

you'll be like "addiction is a disease!!" but think you're better than those degenerate stoners because you only drink energy drinks and white claws and would never touch "illegal drugs"

many if not most drugs CAN be consumed completely safely with almost 0 risk to the user and even if that werent true and all drugs were extremely dangerous you still wouldn't be better than those of us who love doing drugs recreationally

lighten up and grow up. get offline, talk to real adults, and stop being shocked to discover that they enjoy doing stuff that adults do like have sex and do drugs and even listen to rock and roll

I fled to my parents place to study last weekend, at my boyfriends place the urge to just get high and leave everything to finish the next day, is just too strong... especially since hes already done with his exams and does nothing but playing video games and smoking atm..

I hope that one day ill have a better relationship with weed, but for now lets pray i pass that exam🥲

Funny story: the first time I smoked weed I tried w a bong. No effect after 20 minutes of being in the smoky room w my friends and trying myself except for coughing. Blech.

THEN like 2 days later they gave me a vape version and I (accidentally) took a hit so big it made everyone laugh like "lmao dude you're gonna be off your tits" well no, didn't do anything to me either except BURN MY LUNGS!!

I had to go sit in another room to cool off for like an hour before I was breathing normally and I came to the conclusion that I simply can't get high from weed lmao.

no literally same, i tried again (i love you gay people who share their blunts) like twenty minutes ago and i felt nothing different than what i normally feel those few times i smoke normal cigarettes.

which is nothing. bc i also don't feel a difference.

as a recovered drug addict and activist, i always find a lot of leftists will support all kinds of bodily autonomy until you say “i think people have a right to do even heroin safely, legally, and cleanly, no not just decriminalization or the needles but like, it’s OK to literally supply people with heroin. and give education on how to properly inject, smoke, and snort it” that’s the ultimate test

Oh yeah that's a good test! I am very much pro drug use and pro decriminalization - and no, I am not just talking about weed and some harm reduction measures. I'm talking about not punishing ANYONE for doing ANY drug, people in active addiction to scary illegal drugs very much included. I'm talking about making ALL drugs regulated, safe and available through legal means. I don't care how "unhealthy" and "bad" drugs can be, turning a debilitating illness into a law enforcement issue literally ruins lives and kills people and it's not actually helping anyone recover from addiction.
