What is Trunk Port in Networking
As we learned and understood on Layer-2 Switch users or Ports in the same VLAN can communicate and send data. That is correct and possible if all users are connected on the same Switch. But what if users or Switches are located at other locations, floors, or Buildings. How we will communicate with them in the same VLAN. In this article, we discuss a solution and understand What is  Trunk Port in…

Antivaxxers are not responsible* for the current pertussis outbreak. In fact, rich countries are! Here's how:
Whooping Cough, also called pertussis is back in a big way in the US right now. Other nations are also seeing outbreaks, particularly 'rich' or 'first world' or 'developed' nations. Wait what? Rich countries are having a bigger increase in whooping cough than countries with limited healthcare infrastructure? You're probably thinking 'ah, it's the antivaxxers, isn't it?' While they're contributing to the problem, but no, they're not in fact THE PROBLEM. In fact, even fully vaccinated people in rich countries are at risk for pertussis. The first thing to understand is that there are two 'generations' of pertussis vaccine available at present. Both are given in combination with tetanus and diphtheria vaccines. As far as I know, tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis are given together in every mainstream formulation of pertussis vaccine globally. The OG (first gen) pertussis vaccine was the DTP vaccine which contains a whole cell inactivated pertussis bacteria so when it is given, the body develops a robust immune response to every antigen (the thing your body can learn to make antibodies to recognise) on the surface of the pertussis bacteria. It is still used in countries where money is tight because it's cheaper to make and the immune response is robust and long-lasting--5-10 years depending on your source. Unfortunately, side effects were higher with the OG. Some children spike high fevers causing febrile seizures (which are terrifying even though they're benign), arm pain is more intense, and people feel worse after getting it. A miniscule number of children given the OG suffer encephalitis and more serious neurological effects, though most cases self-resolve. In rich countries, as the incidence of pertussis (and diphtheria and tetanus) fell with robust vaccination programs, people became more and more afraid of the side effects of the DTP vaccine. Those side effects sound scarier when there's lower risk of pertussis. There were also ever-growing antivaccine movements because since there has been inoculation (a precursor medical practice to vaccination that goes back all the way to ancient China) there have been opponents inoculation and vaccination. Antivaxxers are not new and modern. They have always been there and they were PISSED about the encephalitis. So both antivaxxers and provaxxers who were starting to forget how scary it is to watch a baby with pertussis said 'we need a better option'. This brings us to 2nd gen vaccines, the acellular pertussis vaccines DTaP and Tdap. The little a stands for 'acellular', meaning that there is no longer a whole dead bacteria cell as our antigen. We use specific cut-up antigens instead. Most formulations use 3-5 different antigens. This results in much lower side effects! Immunity without side effects is the goal! The problem is that this vaccine doesn't last as long. In fact, for 0-10 year old children, 98% are immune at 1 year after vaccination while 81% are immune at 5 years after vaccination. For 11-20 year olds, those numbers drop to 72% at one year and 42% at 5 years after vaccination. For people who are older, those numbers drop even faster. And the acellular vaccines aren't as good at preventing infection--they're more like the covid vaccines in that rather than stopping infection, they make the symptoms less bad. And those 3-5 antigens in the acellular vaccine are becoming less common on the surface of the bordatella pertussis bacteria. Yup. It's out-evolving the vaccine. So where does this leave us? 1) Make sure your pertussis vaccine is up to date. This protects you against the effects of a very serious illness. 2) If you have been exposed to pertussis TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT PROPHYLACTIC ANTIBIOTICS. After an hour in a room with someone who has pertussis, if your body doesn't have sufficient immunity there's up to a 90% chance of you getting it and you will be sick for months. This is one of the ONLY CASES EVER where you should be getting prophylactic antibiotics. Usually, I would say do not get prophylactic antibiotics. This is a special case.
3) If a third gen vaccine comes out (many are in development), update your pertussis shot! 4) IF YOU FEEL SICK AND HAVE A COUGH, STAY HOME. If you cannot stay home, then you should wear a well-fitted disposable n95, kn95, or surgical mask (in order of preference) at all times around other people. 5) Mask in crowded public spaces and on airplanes even if you feel well.

You dug your grave. Leah Williamson x reader
Smut 18+
Reader punishes Leah by. Masturbating in front of her.
Leah was a known flirt in the team. She was touchy and flirtatious with everybody. On most days that didn't bother you. You were secure on who you are and on what you meant to her. She loved you. She was crazy for you. It was just her nature , her way of having fun, to be risky with her friends.
It was that time of the year again, international camp. You both loved it. You got to be together, hang out with your friends and be the best country in the world.
This time camp was different. You and Leah didn't come together. You weren't even called up in the first place. It was because of an injury to one of the players that you were standing in the lobby right now.
“ Here is your key card, this is a single room on the 53rd floor.” Said the kind receptionist.
You thanked her and went up to your room. You then text your girlfriend and inform her that you are in the hotel.
You took a shower, got ready, and headed to the restaurant to meet up with the girls for dinner.
Once you showed up loud cheers filled the room. You went around kissing and hugging everyone and proceeded to go over to your girlfriend's table.
“ Hello my baby I missed you.” She said, greeting you with a filthy kiss. You kissed her back and joined her conversation.
You went feeling good at all and your girlfriend's thought tendencies got on your nerves but you stayed calm throughout the dinner.
After dinner you went and got some drinks, laughed a little and headed back into your room with Leah in your hand.
Once the door closed your girlfriend pinned you to the wall and started kissing you. You however didn't kiss her back.
“ Baby what's happening?” She asked.
“ Since you were so bothered about me today I thought to treat you “ you said.
“All I wanted today was something that was truly mine but you had to get cuddly with Beth, “ you added.
You didn't leave her much time to react before you got out of her group, went to the bed and undressed yourself.
“But baby than isn't fair”
“leah, go sit on that chair.” you ordered. She obliged. She was now sitting in front of a fully naked you with your legs wide open.
“ my love please.” She pleaded.
“ You are gonna sit there and watch me. You move your hand from the arm rest you won't see me naked in a long time “ you warned her. Upset she did as you said.
You started by running your hands through your body. You dtp at your breast. You massage each one, you squeeze your nipples between your fingers and you moan. You release the filthiest moans you have ever said. Leah’s face was pouty but her eyes were full of lust. She grips the armrests tightly and says. “You are so fucking beautiful. You cunt is so fucking beautiful.”
Your core was starting to drip when you started playing with your puffy clit. Leah’s eyes on you have you motivation to moan even louder and make her wish she could touch you which you were with sure she was already. She knew that arguing with you and begging you wouldn't change your mind so she grips the arm rests tougher yet hands go white.
Inpatient you slide one finger in and follow it with another. You knew exactly where to touch yourself to make yourself come . So you quickly became a moaning mess and came screaming Leah's name.
Once you opened your eyes again Leah was white.
“ Fuck me with a strap now if you want “ you say.
She quickly picked up the strap, got on. The bed and started fucking you after adjusting herself to it.
She was rough with her pace so you quickly got close to your second orgasm.
“Baby I am gonna come.” I said.
After she heard that she quickly pulled out.
“Baby no please.” You pleaded.
“ You dug your grave .” She said,
Leah liked edging you so you knew this was gonna be a long night.

coming out of my well to shame the fandom re: treating Nico like he's from 1840 rather than 1940 in terms of living with medical innovations
Vaccines for the following diseases were available during this time:
Smallpox- first generation vaccines were available and work on second generation vaccines occured in the 1930s with production of an egg-based vaccine begun by the Texas Department of Health in 1939. DC schools required smallpox vaccination for children to be allowed to attend by 1930, so Nico would have gotten immunized for this even if he didn't get anything else.
Diphtheria- first vaccine was developed in 1913, then a cheaper version in 1924. Yep, it's the "antitoxin" they call for in Balto (1995)- it can be used to either treat active infection or immunize.
Pertussis (whooping cough)- first vaccine was licensed in the US in 1914, then another in 1931, and another that became the basis for the modern vaccine in 1932.
BCG vaccine for Tuberculosis (TB)- first available in 1921, but neither the US nor Italy mandated it. This vaccine is still given around the world today.
Tetanus ("lockjaw") - first vaccine was produced in 1924, then a more effective version in 1938. The combo DTP (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) vaccine was first released in 1948 and was used all the way up to 1996 when a new, safer version was released.
Anthrax- the veterinary vaccine in use today is based on the one developed in 1935 in South Africa. The Soviet Union developed a human vaccine that was available beginning in 1940.
Yellow fever- the vaccine still in use today (17D strain) debuted in 1939.
The first rabies vaccine was developed in 1885, for crying out loud!
Penicillin was used to cure infections as early as 1930, though it didn't hit mass-production until 1945. Other antibiotics (Salvarsan and Prontosil) were in use in the early 1900s (by 1910 and 1935, respectively).
Thyroxin (1914) and insulin (1923) were known quantities for treating endocrine disorders.
Medical radiography (x-rays) was a thing before 1900. There were portable ECG/EKG machines as early as 1927.
Cocaine was taken out of Coke in 1903. Like, not even Maria di Angelo would remember that.
Yes, a whole bunch of things changed in medical science between 1942 and the mid-2000s- plenty of fodder for "Will blows Nico's mind with modern medicine." I will even provide suggestions!
Vaccines for major childhood illnesses: polio (1952), measles (1962), mumps (1967), rubella (1969). IMO the polio thing is way slept on given how big the March of Dimes got in the public consciousness.
Closed-chest defibrillation (1950s) and CPR (1970s for the public)
Organ transplants (1953)
Ultrasound (1949/1961)
Not giving aspirin to anyone under 16 due to Reye's Syndrome risk (1980s) and the advent of other OTC painkillers (ibuprofen, 1969; paracetamol/acetaminophen, 1952; naproxen, 1976)
Insulin that comes from genetically engineered E. coli instead of purified animal pancreases (1978) so as to keep allergic reactions from happening
Rapid strep or flu tests (1980s/1990s) rather than waiting days to culture stuff
If y'all want a "they took the cocaine out of Coke" moment, might I suggest "what do you mean cigarettes/asbestos give you cancer" and/or "they took the lead out of the gasoline"?
But yeah...we've made a lot of progress since 1942 but it wasn't "you got ghosts in your blood and bad air do some drugs about it" back then- not by a long shot.
Wah wahwah wah wah back in my day we scoured Wikipedia and the rest of the internet to do background research on fandom-related minutiae and we liked it

As a lawyer, who I think would be charged with murder under American law vs who I think a prosecutor wouldn’t pursue
I’ve been a criminal lawyer for a little while now and thought I’d come at this from a different angle than I usually see just for fun and to make a note to myself of just how similar or different people’s primary concerns are going into t3 than what the law is concerned about.
This is going off of only their base crime, not anything that occurred after T1/T2.
I’ll preface by saying that murder charges kind of start when probable cause exists to arrest- cops arrest suspect and send the matter to the prosecutor, who usually has about 30 days to decide whether they want to pursue action, or otherwise, issue a DTP Notice (Decline to Prosecute). So, based on their info as of now, this is who I think would have probable cause to be prosecuted vs who a prosecutor would likely decline to prosecute:
(BTW this is different from my view of how they’d be found after a trial, so it does not factor in their defenses or any factors in aggravation or mitigation. Maybe I’ll do another post on that if people want)
*Committed Murder:*
Haruka- first degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree.
I’m pretty sure he killed an actual child, not just an apparition or metaphorically killing himself. Tack on additional charges for animal cruelty.
Muu- First degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree.
Being 16, with a public murder, she’d probably be tried as an adult.
If she brought the box cutter to school it would suggest premeditation or planning. It should be noted that premeditation and deliberation can form, and be legally argued of forming in a mere second- so even if she didnt bring that cutter to school or plan it out intensively it could still be premeditated and deliberate under the law.
However second degree murder is likely more appropriate and would ultimately be an easier trial strategy to pursue in the absence of any additional evidence of premeditation.
Amane- First degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree at worst, potentially pled down to voluntary manslaughter
Mind you she’d be adjudicated in Juvenile court as a minor below the age of 14; in some places she’d be tried as an adult, but if she had a defense attorney that was even slightly good it’d be transferred to juvenile court. So her potential punishment and sentencing would differ from everyone else’s because the guidelines differ.
Her charges would be the same though. Premeditation could be established by viewing her at the point she found the evidence that the cat died, walking home with the smile and promptly beating her mother to death. Its also usually pretty easy to establish premeditation and deliberation when the method of murder is beating to death.
Her background however would likely make a prosecutor think twice about going for first degree. Coupling that with the nature of her relationship with the victim, I think if the case wasn’t already resolved on insanity (because of the delusions and hallucinations she seemed to suffer leading up to the murder), a prosecutor would strike a plea deal for voluntary manslaughter.
Amane’s is likely the most complicated legally with both the nuances of juvenile adjudication and the specific facts of her case so this is far from comprehensive.
Mikoto- First degree murder, multiple counts because I think he murdered multiple people
Even though it seems random that he’d just murder some people he saw on the street its likely that the jury would buy into the premeditation forming quickly here. Especially if he murdered multiple people. Plus that scene in MeMe where the one guy is crawling on the ground and Mikoto smashes his head with the bat, its easy to argue premeditation formed when he lifted the bat to swing down.
I want to point out that at the moment I’ve isolated, which is the initial pressing of criminal charges, whether he is legally insane is not of consequence. There’s a lot going into this but a competency or insanity hearing wouldn’t occur until charges were filed against him. Plus, DID is not among the disorders recognized as rendering someone incompetent to stand trial or to establish legal “insanity”. I’m getting ahead of myself but absent any element of delusion or hallucination he is incredibly unlikely to succeed on an insanity defense anyways. He is also very unlikely to get a guilty but mentally ill verdict (which just sits between insanity and flat out guilty) for the same reasons but I suppose its more likely than insanity.
Kotoko- First degree murder. She planned it meticulously. Premeditation is obvious. And prosecutors love taking the opportunity to deter vigilante justice. With no obvious defenses this is the easiest case to make.
*Did not commit murder:*
Kazui- He definitely ruined her life and acted selfishly. But, he did not commit murder.
Mahiru - She was an overbearing and potentially toxic partner. But toxicity alone doesn’t make her a murderer when her partner commits suicide.
*Maybe committed murder depending on location and additional circumstances:*
Yuno- LET ME BE CLEAR, to ME, its not murder. But unfortunately whether she’s charged with murder now depends on her location. No California prosecutor would charge her. A Texan prosecutor would. Were it up to me, she’d be in the unambiguous not charged section.
Shidou- He confuses me. If he violated the standard protocol for organ donation and removal of life support (judging by his voice line of “youre in my way, die already”), a prosecutor would potentially charge him with criminally negligent homicide or manslaughter. There’s nuances to this but under the law we treat braindead people as people for the purpose of crimes committed against them. for instance, raping someone in a coma (JUST AN EXAMPLE) is still charged as rape of another person, despite being brain dead. Another example, someone random coming into another person’s hospital room and pulling the plug is still murder, because they lacked the authorization and consent to remove life support. So if Shidou acted outside of the scope of his professional duties and the standard protocol for removal of life support and organ donation, it could still be charged as murder, notwithstanding whether the victim was braindead.
BUT, if he followed the standard protocol, and was simply callous about the concept of brain death and organ donation until his wife/kids died, then it’s not murder.
*Would be charged with something else:*
Fuuta - He wouldnt be charged with murder outright but the facts of his case-stalking, doxxing victim and encouraging online hate campaign leading to suicide- would support an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Tumblr media
DISTURB THE PEACE ( 평화 방해 ), often abbreviated as DTP, were first introduced to the world through a web series available on Youtube and Poser's website titled WHAT NOW? Inspired by found footage films and vlogging-styled content, the videos follow the chosen eleven just minutes after the confirmed lineup was announced. The very first video accumulated over 2,000,000 views in just a week due to incoming fans being obsessed with the unfiltered reactions and emotions each trainee had. The series went on to have 44 episodes with each member getting 2 of their own one on one specials so the public can get to know them more.
By late March of 2015, Poser Records will end the pre-debut series on a cliffhanger where the CEO and COO were about to reveal the group's official name. The screen cuts to black, and after almost two hours of waiting, the social media accounts belonging to the company were releasing the long awaited teasers and dates for DTP's debut.
Tumblr media
╰╮  ⠀  𝚠𝚠𝚠.  ⠀  ❙❘❙❚❙❘❙❙❚❙❘❙❙❘❙  ⠀  ✷  ⠀ left to right : ⠀ ISEO, NANO, DAHEON aka CASH, JEAN, ANDREW aka AJ, MINYOUNG, ANTOINETTE aka TONI, SKYE, NEVEAH, HAEUN, ROMEO, DAESUNG.
Composed of three sub-units ( 4-1-1, Project X, Social Suicide ), Disturb The Peace quickly became a household name in 2016 due to their mix of experimental pop, edm, electronica, and occasional hip-hop hits spanned throughout their discography.
And just like the mixed reviews on their overall sound, the same can be said towards the members themselves as no one was spared from a controversy that nearly tanked their reputation altogether. Many REBELS argue online over which unit was the most problematic with most deciding it was Project X while others said that Social Suicide weren't full of angels, either.
As of 2025, Disturbing The Peace is currently not as active as a whole with Poser Records deciding to shift focus onto their other groups whilst occasionally using the units as quick cash grabs in between releases knowing that their fans will buy anything with their names on it. Because of this, it's heavily believed that DTP keeps to themselves rather than interact with their "replacements," resulting in several online arguments and alleged fights behind the scenes that earned the group the title of bitter wash-ups. Despite it all, the members are firm believers that they'll come back better than ever ━ it's just a matter of time until when.

╰╮  ⠀  www.  ⠀  ❙❘❙❚❙❘❙❙❚❙❘❙❙❘❙  ⠀  ✷  ⠀It's 2018. Poser Records are noticing that Disturb The Peace's numbers are beginning to dwindle. A member is on hiatus every other month, everyone is calling their music "construction noise," and their it boy of the month was exposed as a raging misogynist during an important comeback. Social Suicide can only do so much to keep the reputation of the the group afloat, but even they aren't do so hot as of recently with their own internal issues and constant quarrels with other girl groups.
So what does the CEO and COO need to do to gain back the public's affection? They can easily work on the big group they already have. They can begin changing up their sound more often to cater to the demand fans and non-fans alike wanted but it'll take away the individuality set by the company.
Or...they can just debut another boy group.
Tumblr media
Arm Candy ( 암 캔디 ) are a seven member boy group that debuted on February 14, 2017 as the second all-male act underneath the label.
Tumblr media
╰╮  ⠀  www.  ⠀  ❙❘❙❚❙❘❙❙❚❙❘❙❙❘❙  ⠀  ✷  ⠀INSU aka ZION, [ERROR], DAHEON aka CASH, EUNJUN, DOHYUN aka DREW, HOLLAND, YOUNGMIN aka COLE.
They were different. Everything about them was different. The brighter, more pastel color palette stood out like a sore thumb compared to the neon green of DTP. The lineup didn't consist of just fresh, new faces but also idols of other groups ─ some never heard of, some familiar, already bringing in fans who were eager to see these faces back in the industry. Visually, the boys were more polished, too. Clean, pristine, and always smiling; Warm and inviting. A stark contrast to the rough around the edges look given to Project X.
Arm Candy weren't supposed to mimic Poser. That was the biggest takeaway fans and observers of the company noticed right when their name was revealed. They were referred to as "K-Pop's future boyfriends," for their charm gave off the impression of first male leads in a drama; The boy next door that you secretly fawned over after sharing eye contact with just once, tripping over your own feet when something as simple as a "hey" is exchanged.
It came as no surprise that once the group was active that they quickly become the highest selling act under the company. Sweethearts, their fandom, were a dedicated albeit obsessive bunch. Anything Arm Candy did, they supported it. Whether it was music, interviews, brand deals, etc ─ the amount of support they garnered was both impressive yet concerning. And when you remember how much their fan service contributes to their fame, more alarms tend to go off.
As of 2025, Arm Candy are the most successful idol group underneath Poser Records to date. They're become known as your idol's idol, easily being listed among the top 10 boy groups of their own generation and in general.
Will they ever fall off? I guess we'll never know...

One of the most defining 16bit computers was introduced in June 1985.
ATARI ST 520
DESIGN HISTORY & STRATEGY
The Atari ST series was born in a turbulent time: Atari had just been acquired by Jack Tramiel, founder of Commodore, after leaving that company. Tramiel pushed for a quick-to-market product to compete with the Apple Macintosh and Commodore Amiga.
Development time: Less than one year — an aggressive schedule for a 16-bit GUI-based machine.
Initial models: The Atari 520ST was the first to ship, showcased at CES in 1985.
Innovative design: All-in-one casing (mainboard + keyboard), like the Amiga 500, but with better modularity (external floppy drive, monitor, etc.).
Former C=64 developer Shiraz Shivji led the design team. He tells a story about the Atari ST/Commodore Amiga history (source) "It is very interesting that the Warner Atari difficulties were due to Tramiel’s Commodore. The Commodore 64 was much more successful (I would say wildly successful) compared to the Atari Computers such as the 800 and the 400. We were also taking away sales from the video games division, the Atari 2600. Jay Miner was at Atari in the old days and was involved in the design of their products. He left Atari to design the Amiga. Atari had funded some of this effort and had an option to buy the Amiga. When we took over Atari in July 1984, the first order of business was to decide what to do with this option. The problem was that the Amiga was not quite ready and would need a lot of money to acquire. We decided to pass on Amiga, but this put enormous pressure on our own development team. Commodore, on the other hand, did not have an internally developed 32-bit graphics-oriented machine and did not have the confidence to develop the machine internally. They ended up buying Amiga for between $25-$30 million and spent a further $20 million or so and yet came out with a product a little after Atari. The roles were reversed, the Atari ST has a Commodore pedigree, while the Amiga has an Atari pedigree!"
MIDI AND MUSIC PRODUCTION
The 520ST included built-in MIDI ports — a revolutionary move. At the time, most other computers needed expensive third-party MIDI interfaces.
Key Software:
Steinberg Cubase – became the industry standard for MIDI sequencing.
Notator – early version of what later evolved into Logic Pro.
Pro 24, Dr. T's, and Hollis Trackman – widely used for composing, sequencing, and syncing synthesizers.
Used by Artists:
Fatboy Slim composed with the ST well into the 2000s.
Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld used it in studio setups.
Many studios kept an Atari ST just for MIDI due to its tight timing and reliability.
SOFTWARE ECOSYSTEM
TOS/GEM: A fast and responsive GUI OS that was very usable on 512KB of RAM.
Productivity apps:
Calamus DTP – high-quality desktop publishing
NeoDesk – an improved desktop GUI
GFA Basic – a powerful programming environment
Graphics tools:
Degas Elite, NeoChrome – pixel art, animation
Spectrum 512 – used clever tricks to display 512 colors
While the Amiga had better graphics and sound, many games were first developed for the ST, then ported to Amiga. Key games:
Dungeon Master – first-person RPG with real-time mechanics
Carrier Command, Starglider, Blood Money, Rick Dangerous
Flight simulators, strategy, and adventure games flourished
CULTURAL IMPACT
In Europe (especially the UK, Germany, France, and Hungary):
The ST became a cornerstone of bedroom coding, Demoscene, and music production.
Local software houses and users created a vibrant community around the machine.
The Atari ST was used in schools, small studios, and households well into the early '90s.
In education: The ST's affordability and easy-to-use software made it a favorite in European schools and computer labs.
DECLINE & LEGACY
By the early 1990s, the ST line was losing ground to IBM-compatible PCs and faster Amigas.
Later models like the STE, TT030, and Falcon 030 tried to revitalize the line, with limited success.
Atari shifted toward consoles (like the Jaguar) and left the computer market.
Long-term legacy:
The Atari ST's MIDI legacy lives on — it helped standardize digital music production workflows.
Many musicians and retrocomputing fans still collect and use STs today.
A vibrant retro software/demo scene remains active, especially in Europe.

the script used in joilant (based on english alphabet but also japanese romanisation; key was released in kprs digital artbook)
the script used in volk (based on english alphabet; key was also released in kprs digital artbook)
the script used in the wiimake (based on english alphabet; the ending credits cutscene has a key for it in the book)
WOOOOOOOO you’re so real!! thanks so much for bringing all of them up!!! ^_^ ill try to take a look at them later if i have the time and remember
i have seen the klonoa @ blog posts about at least one of the scripts already but i haven’t taken a close look at any of them. i should check out the art book at some point
i need to replay dtp + lunateas veil again at some point to re-familiarize myself with what everything looks like. the script used in joilant is the most memorable for me since it’s on all those signs (and also because the jungle slider intro cutscene will always be in the back of my brain)

I just read through a thread by @/notherpuppet on bluesky and I wanted to add my current thoughts to the conversation bc I'm nosy and I have Thoughts LOL. this is very disorganized so bear with me. (cw rape/assault mentions)
Their thread basically argued there is a chance Valentino could receive a redemption arc. I gotta be honest, the thought of that makes me squirm a bit. Instinctually I think that's a fair response--he is a horrible person whose villainy is grounded in reality. People rape people in real life. I've seen people argue that Alastor treats Husk in similar confining ways to Val/Angel, but I think the reason it's less touched on by fans is because it's not grounded in reality as much as Angel/Val's story. Alastor and Husk are two animal demons who are in this dynamic because of a magical soul deal gamble. Angel is a sex worker abused by a pimp. The latter happens in real life, and often. Valentino is particularly hated, I think, because he is a REAL villain--his actions can be performed, have been performed, in reality. That's why when I hear the chance of a villain like him, a real one, being offered redemption, I squirm, because there are implications to that in reality. BIG questions that even I can't answer, like do the worst people imaginable deserve redemption? It's the entire premise of the show. Valentino is a great character for Hazbin because his villainy challenges everything Charlie believes in. But what if he gets redeemed? what does that mean? will he even get redeemed in the first place?
My honest answer is I don't know, but I know what I WANT the show to do. Which is why I'm going to implement it in my rewrite AU of the show.
The first part of the project, Death to Paradise, is all about choice. Humanity was shielded from free will because the Angels feared rebellion against their order (There's more to it, but I will refrain bc spoilers). Choice is the very thing that damns Lucifer to fall--he chose to help Lilith and Eve break out of Eden's clutches, and that choice had devastating consequences. And, like canon, Lucifer saw the further consequences of offering humanity choice: chaos, violence, and destruction. that result hardened his heart. Lilith thrived in that choice, made a dazzling city for all those who chose not to be defined by Heaven's rules. This theme of choice will carry on to my versions of Seasons 2-4, especially with the Vees. Redemption IS possible, as Pentious proved, but I think there should be more to it than that. Just because someone CAN be redeemed, does that mean they should? Or, that they even want to?
What I hope Hazbin does is argue that while yes, redemption is possible, one has to CHOOSE to be better. And I just don't think any of the Vees will do that. They chose lives of depravity, and I think you'd have to rip that depravity from their cold, dead, hands. They enjoy the power villainy has given them, and I doubt they'd ever choose to be better. Doesn't mean that they literally cannot be redeemed, BUT that they refuse to. I think that's a lesson Charlie needs to learn. That just because people can be better, doesn't mean they will choose to.
Now, obviously, I'm not on the writing team. I can't say nor control what direction they take the show. I can only say the direction I'm taking MY version, which is basically the previous paragraph. Characters like the Vees, or even Adam--hell, even Alastor--are people who will choose not to be better. Adam in DtP is a horrific person by design--Val is technically his descendant, after all. and my version will reflect that, as well as my personal opinions on rape/sexual assault (shocker, it's negative). To rape someone is to rob them of their agency, their will, their CHOICE. Characters who do and enable that, such as the Vees (and DtP Adam), will NEVER choose redemption, because that means acknowledging that they were wrong, which I don't think they'd ever do.
One of Mare's points in their thread was about how Charlie offers rehabilitation instead of locking people up and throwing away the key. BIG themes of prison-industrial complex here and how we punish bad people, which is the mother of all discourse that I WILL NOT be getting into. I want to believe that Viv and her team have the writing chops to tackle this subject, but I just don't know. I don't even know if MY ideas are the end all be all solution to this question. Hazbin will offer their suggestions, and I will offer mine. I just hope that whatever the crew ends up doing, they do it right, they take their time, and they tackle it with the levity it deserves. Masquerade was their best written episode by far, so I do have faith they are at least headed in a good direction. what remains to be seen is how they (and myself, to some extent haha) stick the landing.
If Val is offered redemption, I don't want him to take it. Nor will any of the Vees. Whether they get killed off or some other outcome, I don't think it's in their characters to want to be better. Pentious and the Hotel gang (minus Alastor) are all choosing to be better people, therefore will get into Heaven--I think so, anyway. The Vees are characters who rob people of their choice, of agency. Vox hypnotizes people, Velvette sells roofie potions made with Val's mind-numbing saliva. No matter how much Charlie will try to redeem them, she will fail because they CHOOSE not to embrace her ideas, because it means taking responsibility (iykyk) of what their choices have led to. And I just don't want them to do that. To me redemption is about wanting to ve better, choosing to be so, and I do not want the Vees to take that route.
At the VERY least, if Val gets redeemed, I don't want Angel to forgive him. Nor do I think the show would let him. I do think they're mature enough not to make everything all sunshine and rainbows between an abuser and his victim. OR I could be entirely wrong and have to sell off all the merch I bought because I disagree with the show. Who knows! I sure don't.
TLDR: I don't want Val to be redeemed bc I don't think he'd chose to be. No clue what the show will do. I am praying future seasons don't suck bc the discourse if they did would send me into a frenzy. probably. idk. I'm gonna eat some chocolate now.
also NO HATE TO MARE'S THREAD I just wanted to add my two cents. I think the ideas they pitched are really interesting, especially the idea of how Angel would react if the Hotel gave Val a shot. the ANGST potential is immense and I would be here for that lmao

No Minors Allowed!!
“The police chief said that?” Asked Vickie.
She tensed her jaw, looking between Alice and Robin. The former could see how shaken up she was, especially after overhearing the hushed conversation that she and Robin were having over the countertop in Euterpe. Alice did not mean to frighten her. The murder was still fresh on her mind.
“It's just a precaution,” Robin told her. “They have to say that.”
Alice was not convinced, but to ease her apprehension, she shook her head in agreement.
“If they wanted to keep people in, they would issue a curfew.”
“Exactly,” Robin concurred. She dismissed the topic with a wave of her hand. “That doesn't matter. What matters is what you are doing next Friday.”
As if a coin had been flipped, Vickie widened her eyes in enthusiasm.
“Oh yeah.”
Alice knitted her brows. “What is next Friday?”
She was a bit freaked out by their vagueness. It was like they had a secret that would either excite her or freak her out. Alice did not like surprises. Too often, were they unpleasant.
“Dingus–”
“Steve,” Vickie corrected.
Alice snorted. Old habits were hard to break.
“Steve,” Robin began again. “Got his undergraduate degree earlier this month. He–”
“Wait,” Alice interrupted. “Steve Harrington got into college.”
Robin narrowed her eyes. She raised her hand, pointing between Alice and Vickie.
“Are you two gonna let me finish?”
Vickie ran her fingers over her lips as though she were zipping them. Alice simply gestured for her to continue.
“Yes, to answer your question. I was surprised, too. Anyway, he will be entering into a DTP (Doctor of Physical Therapy) program in autumn, and while he is waiting for the semester to start, he's coming home to visit.
“He'll be back in Hawkins next Wednesday, so we're planning to throw a party for him here at the store to celebrate. It won't be extravagant, just a few friends. You can now ask your questions?”
“DTP? I didn't peg him as the doctor type,” Alice admitted.
Robin had said the same thing.
“He decided on being a sports physical therapist.”
That made sense. After he lost his scholarship, Steve bounced around a bit from job to job. He was working as a school custodian at Hawkins High. Somewhere along the way, he must have decided to pursue his love for sports differently. Alice was happy for him.
“Of course. I'll be there.”
“It's a BYOB party, no pressure, but you've been warned,” Robin stated.
Alice was not much of a drinker, but she reckoned she could bring a bottle or two.
“Oh,” Vickie chirped. “And if you wanted to bring food, plates, and such, then that's fine. It would definitely be appreciated.”
“I'm down,” Alice retorted with a smile.
It made her feel a bit better talking to them - even though Vickie came into the conversation late - about what had happened. She was reluctant at first to mention Billy, but as soon as the murder came up, Robin switched gears.
The first thing she had asked Alice was how she felt. Even now, she did not know. It was too soon to tell; too fresh in her mind. Alice was not even sure it was real. But it was.
Alex Flemming was mentioned in The Hawkins Post, fresh off the press by the time she rolled out of bed this morning. He was eighteen, Alice read. A cook at a burger joint cut down before he could make something of himself. It was tragic. The worst part was that his death was still under investigation. The police had not yet learned anything of use. Either that or they were withholding information, something she considered when Hopper suggested she not go out after dark.
Alice thought about Alex well into the afternoon before she decided to go see Robin and Vickie. By the time she left Euterpe, it was after six. The thoughts regarding Alex were still on her mind, but now she had more to think about, like the party and reuniting with some of her old high school friends.
Walking back to her Oldsmobile, parked at the far end of the lot, Alice pulled out her keys to unlock the door. She didn't even notice the Ford tow truck pull to a stop behind her until the horn went off. Alice flinched. She turned around angry as a hornet but stifled her curses when she saw Sam Dixon at the wheel of the Ford; a Honda with a totaled hood was hooked to the boom.
Sam was a good-looking man for one in his mid-fifties, though jowly about the mouth. His hair was dark and cut short, but what stood out the most about him were his deep-set eyes. He had the most intense gaze Alice had ever seen like he was about to devour her. Sitting at an elevation, looking down on her, only made him seem more intimidating.
Suddenly, he broke focus and snorted.
“You're a little skittish thing, aren't ya?” His voice was deep and horsed.
Alice did not know how to reply. She luckily did not have to. The passenger door came open, and Billy stepped out. He came around the Ford and stopped by the back of her car, apologizing for Sam's actions under his breath.
“This close,” Alice began. She slid her thumb a centimeter back from her pointer finger. “And I just about called you every name under the sun.”
“If you know of a name I haven't been called yet, then let me have it,” Billy quipped.
Alice could not contain her smile. She glanced briefly down Oak Street, then back to Billy.
“I'll let you off the hook for now.”
Billy was grateful. He wet his lips, intending to thank her, but Sam cleared his throat loudly as if to say, “Hurry it up, boy.”
“I was gonna give you a call when I got home, but I saw you walking to your car,” Billy explained. Sam damn near thumped him on the head for suddenly turning down the game to ask him to pull over. “Do you wanna go for a ride with me when I get off?”
A ride. Her first thought was that it would be late, but Alice reckoned that was what he meant to do. Take a night ride. Then she remembered what Hopper had told her and her stomach sank.
“Is it safe to do that? I mean…Jim was serious.”
Billy tightened his jaw. He would be lying if he said he was not disappointed in her answer. A part of him, the old him, wanted to insist that she trust him, but he didn't.
“Rain check, yeah?”
“No…I–” She should have gone with her instinct and listened to Hopper, but Alice felt bad. She wanted to spend time with him. “I'd love to.”
Billy smiled in elation, and all her worries vanished.
It'll be fine. I'm sure.
Whatever concerns Alice had about ignoring Hopper vanished the moment she crawled into the cabin of the Ford.
It was a quarter till nine when Billy came by her house, having cleaned himself up first. The warm scent of his cologne filled the air, masking the odor of Marlboro Reds and something metallic that Alice could not place. It soothed her nerves.
Since the murder of Alex Flemming, she had begun to associate the scent with halcyon days; with echoes of bliss. This is why her heart began to race when Billy asked her where she wanted to go. Alice was overjoyed.
“Do I get to control the radio, too?”
“Don't push your luck,” Billy teased.
Alice faked a pout. She pulled the seat belt around her, mulling over her options. There were so many places around Hawkins that she wanted to see; places that held such fond memories for her. In the end, she chose to pass the decision over to Billy.
“Surprise me.”
Billy grinned and backed the truck down the driveway. When he pulled onto Randolph Street, he stooped forward and turned the radio onto a station out in Terre Haute, then headed left toward town. Alice had no idea where he planned to take her. She stared out the window, mouthing the lyrics to “I Touch Myself” by The Divinyls. When they turned onto Coal Mill Road, she turned to Billy with a curious, humorous look.
“Lover's Lake. That's a very daring choice.”
One might get the wrong idea, she opted not to mention. Her anxiety returned, not because it was after dark, but because he was taking her to the lake out in the middle of the woods alone. No one came to Lover's Lake by chance unless they were buying drugs from Reefer Rick at the lakehouse.
“It's where I spent my summer in '85, aside from the community pool,” Billy reminded her.
“Yeah, there's a trail beside Lipton House that goes around the curve of the lake. You took me there a few times.” Alice recalled.
Billy took her there more than a few times. There were a lot of memories on that trail, both good and bad. It was where she lost her virginity to him; where he went after serious fights with Neil, his father, and where they spent their last night before Alice moved away. She wondered how many times he had been back without her.
At the lakehouse on Holland Road, Billy parked near the boathouse with the boom pointed toward the woods. Aside from them, there was no one around. Lipton House was boarded up, back-lit by the full moon. Based on how overgrown the yard was, swallowing the house in verdant greenery and thick creeping vines, Alice was not sure anyone had lived there for years.
“I thought Reefer Rick lived here?”
“He got busted a few years back and sent to prison,” Billy answered. “His house was abandoned, but the boathouse is used from time to time.” He pointed to the woods on the other side of the house. “The trail was maintained, though.”
Alice hummed. To say that she was nervous was an understatement. This scene was straight out of a horror film; “Friday the 13th” or “Creature from the Black Lagoon”.
“If some psycho in a sack mask comes walking out of the woods, I'm tripping you.”
Billy snorted.
Leaving the safety of the Ford, Alice groaned as the tall grass licked at her bare legs. She should have worn pants out. The temperature was warm enough to dress down, but she did not think that she'd be hiking through the woods in the middle of the night. Billy led her with a small LED light attached to his keys. The sound of their footsteps on the dry earth and the overjoyed chirp of crickets filled the air as they navigated the trail.
The end led out to a small clearing at the bank of the lake; the water lovingly lapped the shore. Alice could tell that someone had been there recently. Remnants of a pit fire built with river rocks and small boulders were left. It was safe to assume that whoever used it last was gone.
“I don't remember it being so…open,” Alice uttered softly.
She was referring to the clearing. Someone had cut down the bushes and trimmed the trees back. The moon, full and bright, hovered above them.
“It's a decent spot,” Billy admitted.
Alice agreed. For a silent moment, she stared out at the lake; shaped like an inverted heart. She felt a sense of nostalgia pass over her. It was a shame at this moment, the only memory associated with it was of the break up.
“I owe you an apology.” She turned to Billy to see if he was listening. He was stooped over the fire pit, picking out flat stones, but spared her a brief look. She continued. “When I left, things didn't go over well with us. It was sudden, and I didn't realize at the time how selfish I was being.”
Billy stood and walked to her side. He silently offered Alice a rock. She took it. Ash rubbed off onto her skin, but she paid it no mind and stood back, tossing it at the surface of the lake. It hit with a plop and then immediately sank. Billy snorted.
“You're terrible at this.”
“Yeah, I am,” Alice muttered. Her voice broke a little.
Billy made it look easy. The first rock he tossed skipped at least four times before it sank. He swallowed hard; the anger he felt remained a constant thorn in his side, but he shrugged it off.
“It's fine.”
Alice was dismayed. She knew how Billy could be; she knew his anger often got the better of him. But this was not Billy. What happened to him?
“Are you still you?”
Billy did not want to answer. He looked into her tearful eyes, then offered her another rock. Once she took it, reluctantly, he stepped behind her and gently grasped her arm.
“You gotta flick your wrist when you toss it.” He showed her, maneuvering her hand back and forth. “Throw out and down.”
Alice shook her head. She waited for Billy to step back, pleased when he slid his hand to her back, then tossed the rock. It skipped once, an extremely poor skip, then sank. But she was content.
“With a little more practice, I'll have you beat in no time.”
Billy grinned. At least she was smiling again. He stroked her back with his thumb, then withdrew his hand. The pout on her face made his stomach tighten.
“That felt nice.”
Right. Alice liked it when he used to give her massages. He had forgotten.
“My service doesn't come cheap,” Billy joked. He returned to the fire pit for more rocks.
“Name your price,” Alice retorted.
Now she was playing with fire. She had to have known. Billy wet his lips. There was so much he could ask for, but he simply did not want to push her into anything she did not want. There was an obvious interest, but he was not sure how much.
“Rain check, yeah.”
Alice simply smiled. For the next half hour, she skipped rocks and reminisced with Billy. They talked about life and love; both of them had been in a fair share of relationships over the five years apart, but none of them worked out for either. In terms of one-night stands, Alice surprisingly had the most notches in her bedpost.
“I'm shocked. Good girl Alice isn't so innocent after all,” Billy had retorted.
“Such a turn-off, right?”
When the mosquitoes started to come out in droves, the two returned to the tow truck. Alice tried to wipe away the ash from the rocks on her shorts, but Billy instead offered her a Wipex that he kept in a canister beneath the seat.
“My hero,” she teased.
Billy shook his head. He started up the vehicle and turned on the radio, keeping the volume down to a level in which he could still hear it. The cabin would have gone silent if he didn't. He watched Alice for a moment, cleaning her hands, then followed the curve of her smile. In the clearing, he swore to himself that he would not do this, but he was anxious to know.
“Did you ever think about me while you were gone?”
Alice rolled the corner of the Wipex between her thumb and pointer finger and then nodded. Her eyes met his.
“How could I not?”
What she did was not easy. For the first couple of months, Alice debated checking in but opted not to. It would have made things harder; it would have proved how right Doreen was about her.
“I really did miss you.”
What he said next took her by surprise.
“Can I kiss you?”
Her heart began to race. Alice was heated; her face flushed, spreading up to her ears like a bad sunburn. The feeling took her back to the time she shared her first kiss with Billy on the hood of his Camaro.
Why would he ask now though? He never did before. In a way, it was worse for her than him just going for it. Alice felt ridiculous. She was boiling alive, tempted to roll down the window and blame the stifling cabin for her sudden reaction.
“Do you honestly need to be more of a charmer?”
That smile.
He was gorgeous, even though he no longer carried the same intensity in his eyes.
Billy welcomed her compliment like a dog that craved attention. He offered his hand to her. Alice took it and slid to the middle of the seat, close enough for him to get his claws into. His left hand slid into her honey-blonde hair, pushing locks behind her ear as he led her forward into a tender kiss.
He knew that he did not have to, but he wanted to test the waters, relieved when Alice returned the kiss just as softly. To say that Billy missed this, missed her, was an understatement. He could never truly tell her how unloved and unwanted the years since she left Hawkins - since she left him - had made him feel, but he could show her.
Billy parted from her, noting the curious look in her blue eyes as he dipped down and kissed her on the neck. He could hear her breath hitch; feel the pulse in her neck beneath his lips, pounding like a drum. Alice made him feel alive again. He eased her head back and nibbled at her neck.
Alice felt winded. She held onto Billy, one hand on his shoulder and the other in his hair, twirling locks around her finger. Her arms were tingling, covered in goosebumps.
“Billy,” she begged beneath her breath.
Alice released his hair, resting her hand on his thigh. Her nails slid gently up the leg of his jeans until she felt them bulge. Billy tensed as tight as a bowstring. She felt him shiver as her fingers stroked him, an action that she was elated for. If he had seen the smile on her face, he would have turned the tables on her in an instant.
The old Billy would have, at least.
She was not certain about this version of him. At the moment though, she reckoned it did not matter.
Alice reached for his belt, pulling the extra length from the loop. But the sudden screech of something outside the truck interrupted her. It was unpleasant, like nails on a chalkboard. And sounded close.
“What in the hell was that?” A spark of fear coursed through her like electricity.
Billy sat back, humming in uncertainty. It could have been several things honestly. There was once an owl that nested in the tree beside his window; he swore it shrieked like something out of a creature feature. He was tempted to ignore it, but he knew how skittish Alice had been after the murder. If it brought her a moment of peace, then he would try to soothe her anxiety.
“It might have been a twig or something.”
He did park as close to the woods as possible. Billy peered into the rearview mirror but saw the truck’s boom, a tree line of oaks shaded in red by the taillights, and nothing else. It was so dark.
“Do you want me to take you home?”
Alice considered it, but in the end, she did not want to ruin this moment between them. She turned up the radio to mask the noises outside, then slid into Billy's lap. Her worries vanished the moment he eased her into another kiss.
[Oh, feelin'
Maybe he'll see a little better set of days, ooh yeah…]
Alice sighed, a whisper above the radio, or so it seemed that way to Billy, who was caressing her through the front of her shorts. Her body was tense, quivering; every once in a while her hips would jerk when he put pressure on her clit. As the music rose to a crescendo and their actions escalated, neither of the two heard the lumbering footsteps tearing through the undergrowth until it was too late.
The truck lurched forward with such force that Alice was pushed back onto the steering wheel; a burning pain shot up her back. Her first thought was that someone had rammed them, but that seemed almost ridiculous until she saw a looming figure through the back glass.
“There's someone out there.”
Billy hastily peered into the rearview mirror. He saw the same lumbering figure. It leaped from the bed, causing the truck to lurch again, then disappeared into the tree line.
“What the fuck?!” Billy exclaimed.
He tapped Alice on the leg as if to tell her to hop off. She did so reluctantly; her body was trembling in fear, something Billy felt bad about ignoring as he reached down and retrieved a rusted l-shaped lug wrench from beneath the seat.
Once he opened the door, Alice seized him by the arm.
“Can we just go? Please, Billy.”
He stared at her for a moment, noting the look of terror in her wide, teary eyes. The thought crossed his mind too, but someone was messing with them, and he wanted to know who.
“I'll be right back.”
“You clearly haven't seen many horror movies,” Alice joked.
She was trying to sound brave, but her voice was weak and broken. Billy squeezed her hand, then gently freed himself from her grasp. With the lug wrench in one hand and the LED light in the other, he stepped down from the cabin.
The woods were silent, oddly so. Billy shined his light across the tree line but he could not see anything, yet a sudden prickle on the back of his neck made him feel like someone was watching him. None of this felt right. He opted to return to the truck but as he turned, he heard the sound of a stick snapping beneath the weight of something.
Billy froze. He was aware that the noise could have been anything, but his alertness was so heightened that all he could think about was the worst-case scenario. He peered over his shoulder, following the tree line again. On the trunk of an oak tree, he swore he saw an elongated hand slide back into the darkness. A bout of dizziness washed over him.
What in the hell did he just see? Was it real?
Alice suddenly called out his name from the cabin. Billy jerked in fear. He nearly snapped at her but stifled his anger. Her expression went from concern to fear as she took in his shaken appearance.
“What is it?” She asked.
“I don't know,” Billy admitted. “I thought I saw–”
A sudden heavy force slammed into him, knocking him onto his stomach; the lug wrench fell to the earth. It felt like he had been tackled by a defensive end twice his size. Billy was winded, barely able to catch his breath. He tried to sit up despite his body telling him through pain not to, but a guttural snarl from the thing that tackled him stopped him cold.
It attacked suddenly without provocation, burying its fangs into Billy's right thigh. The bite went deep, making him flinch and gasp for breath. It hurt worse than anything he had ever felt before; worse than the crash or any pain that his father had ever caused him. He did not start to panic until he felt its teeth gnash and tear; the wet squelch of muscle turned his stomach.
“It's eating me.”
Alice, who witnessed the attack, did not quite know what she was looking at. It certainly was no black bear. Whatever it was looked almost human with animal-like features. Its body was well-muscled and covered in thick matted salt and pepper fur. She did the only thing she knew to do; she turned the radio way up and honked the horn in an attempt to make as much noise as possible.
[Oh, whispering hands,
Gently lead him away…]
Please let this work. Please.
Alice glanced back, but to her horror, the noise did not frighten the beast away. It sunk its teeth into him, then backed into the tree line, dragging a weak hollow-eyed Billy into the woods. She was frozen.
What should I do? What the fuck can I do?
Alice did not even know what that thing was. It was not scared of her, or the music. The thought of leaving Billy to get help crossed her mind, and immediately, she felt sick to her stomach. Why did that even cross her mind? She leaped down from the truck and raced toward the tree line but immediately halted as she remembered the lug wrench.
It took her a moment to find it, lying near the truck's tire, and once she did, Alice timidly rushed into the woods after Billy. She was hypervigilant, scanning the bushes for any sign of him - or the beast. It was difficult to navigate in the dark, however. The moon was barely visible through a thick canopy of foliage.
A sudden low-pitched murmur of pain diverted her attention. Alice followed the noise, despite her brain pleading with her not to, and stumbled into an area with little vegetation. Sprawled out on the ground, facing the patchy sky through a break in the trees, was Billy. And hovering over him was the beast.
Alice felt ill. The scene reminded her of Alex Flemming and how he was found, dismembered, and eaten. The parallels between the attacks were uncanny. She was certain.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Billy move his fingers; broken dirt-filled nails scratched weakly at the earth as though he were silently begging for someone to help him. It made Alice feel useless. She was not sure she could save him or herself. Tightening her hands around the lug wrench, she recklessly charged the beast and thrashed it in the back and side.
On the third strike, it snarled in pain, a sound that reminded her of a mix between a wolf and a human. It stood on two muscular legs, towering over her by two feet. Alice widened her eyes, frozen in fear. It was like no animal she had ever seen before. Its eyes were dark amber; its teeth, razor sharp and stained in blood.
If she did not know any better, she would assume this beast was a werewolf straight out of a creature feature.
Alice took a step back, but the beast pounced, knocking her onto her back. Its weight kept her pinned to the ground as it loomed over her. She could smell its rancid breath, an unusual mix of iron and dipping tobacco. Alice retched. It was revolting.
She struggled beneath the beast, unable to move her body from the waist down. It felt like she was being crushed. Alice panicked. If she did not do something, Billy was going to die; she was going to die. With the lug wrench in hand, she began to blindly stab at the beast with its prying tip, again and again.
There was some resistance, then the beast suddenly let out a howl of pain like a wounded animal. It did the opposite of what Alice had hoped, however, and enraged it more. She turned her head just as it neared her face, snarling. Its thick, sticky drool oozed onto her heated cheek and trickled across her nose.
She was going to die.
Then suddenly, as if by some otherworldly intervention, a bright light blinded her. Alice heard the sharp, explosive sound of a shotgun echo through the trees. The beast turned toward the noise, growled deeply, then fled on two legs into the bushes. She could hear its lumbering footsteps fading, replaced by the heavy boots of Eugene McCorkle as he came into view, a blur in her tearful eyes.
“Are you alright, girl?” He asked in concern.
“Billy…h-he–”
She pointed weakly toward him, hoping that he was still alive. Eugene understood her urgency. He disappeared out of sight. Alice heard him mutter something grim under his breath. Everything went silent, then she heard something that put her at ease.
“Hang on for me. I'll call for help. For heaven's sake, hold on.”
Billy was alive.
Alice barely heard what Eugene said as he used his cell phone to call for an ambulance. All she could hear were the sounds of her frantic sobs, like those of the waitress who stumbled upon the body of Alex Flemming.

[ooc: since this is a long message I’m not encoding it, but it is encrypted in-universe]
spooky. sup.
i got somthin big cookin. but for this to work i need intel.
first, i need a favour. i cant do much thanks to the watchdog. i so much as twitch my fingers on the keyboard in the wrong place an time and this whole operation will come crashin down. so. if u can, watch the shrimp for me when they are online doin mundane stuff. because if they do stuff like use social media, play games that require a registered account, use their email and especially if they get online deliveries to their house, those all will have info that will help me figure out where they live irl.
second: tell me everything u know about how pinkie can access an affect the real world. whats the limitations. how much warning would i get. what r the access points. do devices need power for it to be able ta use em? how functional do they have to be? would pinkie be able to exit a screen the size of a pager or somthin? does it need an internet connection to jump pcs or can it do that without it?
and can it be hurt in the real world? can it be hurt by destroying its host device while its occupyin it? or is the only way to kill it digitally? did you ever have a program specifically set up for that (if so, y u no gimmie dat earlier!? rude!). how long would it take?
also any info u have picked up on shrimp or their livin space that might be useful for an irl confrontation would be suuuuuper handy as well.
give me all ya got on all these things. if its a lot, just send me a zip file or somthin lol.
i do have some unfortunate news. i think we gotta change our 'meeting site' soonish. ill send ya some prospectives later. i have a feelin that it might get compromised.
i mayyyyyy have poked the shrimp with a stick. don’t worry, they wont be able to tell the actual pc I used. I am da disquise master. it is me. also i lied. ive scrounged up some burner laptops anyway. my friends r awesome (dont worry they aint involved they just knew I needed the laptops for reasons and they are used to me Enacting Shenanigans).
oh. And one last thing. when I get there, hightail off that pc asap. im gonna signal u and give you a path to a safe pc. Do Not Hesitate. cuz trust me no matter how I decide ta play this u will *not* wanna be on that computer when im doin my thing. and ill almost certainly be disabling the wi-fi in the process.
id like u ta not be double dead. low key fond of ya spookster.
Goblin out
[ooc: If there is a lot of info to give and you don’t want to post it all here, message me and we can work something out like a google doc or something. Or maybe there’s not much for Sonny to say. I dunno, I’m not driving this crazy train lol]
