My One Piece headcanons (mostly just me projecting) with some Fanfics that inspired this:

Luffy is audhd (autism and ADHD) who’s special interest is beetles (and bugs generally but mostly beetles).

[Inspiration: look at him. He couldn’t pick between an atlas beetle and the One Piece, bro].

Zoro has OCD. Guy does everything in threes. $5 says he has to open the door to the crows nest just right or he can’t go in.

Nami doesn’t always like being called “our navigator” because it reminds her of Arlong.

Usopp has got clinical depression and has attempted suicide.

Sanji has a non-specific eating disorder due his OCD.

Chopper can’t eat mushrooms. It reminds him too much of Hiriluk.

Franky can’t really feel pain consistently due to his robotics so repairing his squishy bits is a real pain.

Was reading @whirlybirdwhat 's fanfiction "a place that burns" and I'm kinda glad Luffy doesn't like to think. If he thought, he'd come to these conclusions. He would hurt himself like this whether he'd realize it or not. I'm glad, so so glad that this isn't it. Canonically, it isn't it.

Having a home is so important, it's a place to belong. Luffy concluding what he did in this (which I won't say anything about, read, it's brilliant) hurts too much.

Lu Ten is not a powerful fire bender.

He's more deadly with a blade then he's ever managed to be with a flame and watching Zuko in the palace he'd assumed that his cousin was the same.

He'd assumed wrong.

Zuko is fourteen, they're caught in in a storm they hadn't been able to outrun, and Lu Ten is terrified. A huge wave crests over them, ready to drag them all under even if the boat manages to stay afloat.

Zuko snaps into a firebending form he hasn't had reason to use for years as easy as breathing, but flames do not leave his hands.

Heat does.

Lu Ten's skin feels too hot and tender and irritated from the exposure and he can't even focus on that because as the wave hits wall of heat that Zuko has erected, it sizzles, then dissipates into steam.

"Fucking hell," someone mutters.

Water douses fire.

That is the natural way of the world. In a fair fight, firebenders fall to waterbenders and a single bender is no match for the ocean.

But Zuko does brute forces his way through, and they still have a storm to weather, but no more waves crest over the ship and threaten to pull them overboard.

He'd worried that he'd stunted Zuko's firebending ability by forcing him into a life onto the sea. He'd forgotten the nature of fire.

No matter the circumstances, it finds a way to burn.

I have an idea for some Genshin Impact fic revolving around how Kaeya got his vision and that whole sequence of what, two days or so that passed between his adopted father's death and him fighting with Diluc and receiving his vision and what was running through his head as it happened. Haven't actually put pen to paper on that one though and I imagine I am not the first to come up with this idea nor will I be the last

So I was reading @whirlybirdwhat ‘s Sea of Monsters AU, Luffy’s chapter, and the way Luffy acted reminded me of a certain someone...

Luffy’s appetite and behavior reminded me a lot of Gluttony from Fullmetal Alchemist (especially when he was confronting Crocodile and talking to Doflamingo) and the parallels were so great I had to draw it. (He scaly bc his father’s dragon hehehe)

Bonus:

What if Luffy could open and unhinge his jaw like Gluttony did- but instead of his whole stomach it was his scar?????

i just did Luffy so.... tbis isn’t an insult necessarily, but i was thinking abt t on twitter yesterday:

does Luffy really have a concept of paying for. food? things? he leaves IOU notes, sure, but up till he was 6 Makino let him eat for free and then after he dined-n-dashed or hunted for food. now he has a personal chef. does he know you have to pay for food? or Anything? this isn’t even Luffy Stupid this is a genuine question i have

also, i’ll do ace (after all, what was Wish if not 10k of me dragging ace within an inch of his life, really)

i hate this man. like i love him but jesus christ i got my kind soft new friend from college into One Piece and she meets Ace and she says, immediately, “this is the greatest man alive” and then for weeks as she crawls towards marineford i have to live with that. fucj ace for doing that to me

Usolu: A. Soft, like, 95% of the time, the other 5% is Luffy Being Luffy and Usopp stealing Nami’s braincell and shouting LUFFY NO. Friendship hurt a bit by Water 7, but once its repaired its stronger than ever. Precious.

Zolu: A+, so good, there’s such an implicit trust there and i am also an absolute SUCKER for captain/first mate ships, they’re. Good. I love. my words cannot encompass my feelings but know this - we stan two zero-braincelled dumbasses in love. bUT ALSO. THRILLER BARK al;sghj;dslkfj

Sanuso: A+ as well; i love??? there’s just something so good??? about them???? good friendship, good relationship, they get WORRIED ABOUT EACH OTHER, THEY HELD HANDS IN SKYPEA, AND USOPP GOT UPSET THAT SANJI WASN’T ACTUALLY SAVING HIM IN PUNK HAZARD, i have too many feelssssss
