"Issue #33: Hurt Me! Beat Me! Just Please Don't Leave Me!"

Thank you all for your patience while I worked on this! It's the longest issue of PATFW to date, so I hope you understand why it took me so long to produce. At the current pace it seems like issues will come out about every three weeks (or a little more), which is a bit funny to me. I called them "issues" as a reference to comic books and now look where I am. Full circle.

The boys are having a rough time of it, though, unfortunately. If it wasn't already abundantly clear, Cormorantpaw has some pretty severe abandonment and trust issues, which led to him keeping secrets from Pinepaw out of fear that he'd be left once again. But it's hard for Pinepaw to see that perspective when he's just lost his sister, and thinks that she possibly could've been saved... bad situation all around.

At least Thrasher is finally dead! That's worth celebrating, right? Both he and Crow died from a kick to the head, by the way, and the deer who killed Crow is Wild Rose's son Hyssop.

a little comic about growing pains

pup stares at the ceiling, laying next to a friend whom they have just slept with. their friend lays contentedly, satisfied with the encounter. pup sits up, and the friend takes notice --"what's got you up, pup? it's 2 late." (it is in fact 2 late) "yeah, i know. i'm just thinkin' again." --"'bout what?" view of hallway, showing a long line of nearly identical doors. we do not know which door our characters are in. "how can you tell the difference between romantic and platonic love?" --"i don't think that's a question with just one answer." the friend is hesitant to give advice. the friend is older and more experienced than pup, and knows that their experiences have led them down a very specific path, one that may not be good for pup. "i want to know what your answer is, silly." pup puts their jacket on, eager to follow this line of conversation. the friend sits up in bed, reluctant, but slowly following pup outside and following the thread of conversation. abstract view of the staircase at the end of the hallway, pointed down towards the exit in which they're headed. --"i can do that. i used to think romantic love is platonic love + lust … but now i sleep with my friends so now there's no difference at all." exterior shot, now. they're sitting on the curb. they each have an unlit cigarette in their mouth. pup has the lighter. "is there room for romance in your life?" pup hands the lighter to the friend. the friend lights their own cigarette using pup's lighter and pup hopes for a brief moment that the friend will light their cigarette, too. --"again, it's just indistinct from sleeping with a good friend to me." the friend passes back the lighter. pup does not light their own cigarette. "gotcha" pup presses their cigarette into the ground as if to put it out before it ever saw a flame.

First blood.

It'll become clear soon, but not all of Defiance is here - there are around 100 members in the group in total, and only about twenty here today. But it seems like a lot to the cats.

Also, Prowl did kill Mallowstar by snapping his neck, but I understand it may not be obvious in the art because I didn't want to look at pictures of broken necks for reference. Regardless he died near instantly.

He did his best.

A Challenge (BOTW Comic Short)

On a casual day on Hyrule Castle Barracks training grounds Urbosa sees Revali training with his bow. Knowing his competitive and prideful personality she teases him in his over reliance on his archery skills and asks if that is all he can do? And if so, a true warrior is dynamic and adaptable. She then asks him for a friendly spar session to see what he can do. He knows deep down his swordsmanship pales in comparison to Urbosas but his pride makes it impossible to turn her down. And so begins an important lesson in pride for our Rito Champion.

Just a little short comic I did awhile ago. A plot device in my (Revali x OC) webcomic is that Revali leans towards the bow because of his fear of faltering with the blade. It is a constant test on him and he slowly learns that it's ok to be new at things, but first we must contend with the fear of failiure.
