Some Bad Batch Headcanons
Tech snores like a dad
Wrecker actually is a quiet sleeper
Hunter does the bare minimum to care for his hair, like he uses hand soap for it, and it still looks amazing
Omega being born with a blonde mutation and not having any developmental issues led the Kaminoans to allowing more blond clone troopers to live to deployment
Wrecker is the one that initiates picking up and carrying Omega mostly because it is easier for him to keep an eye on her this way
Wrecker has lost Omega in crowds more than once because she is barely hip height to him in S1, couple that with little to no vision in one eye and a trashed ear, he struggles a little bit (hence the picking up and carrying)
Despite not liking regs, the Batch had a lot of respect for the 501st and drew many of their battle strategies from 501st tactics
Echo didn’t share much about his time with the 501st until Omega came around, this lead to multiple story times which had the whole bad batch circled around him listening and fangirling
Crosshair cannot see things close up, as his eyes were modified for long distance, he needs classes or contacts for reading things but refuses to wear glasses
That being said he will steal Tech’s goggles because they do help quite a bit
Given the choice, Omega will choose Wrecker’s bunk to sleep in over Hunter’s
This is due to A) Wrecker actually likes cuddling and barely moves in his sleep, B) she noticed that Hunter doesn’t sleep as well with someone else in his bunk
That doesn’t stop Hunter from pouting that she chooses Wrecker
Echo is really good at sparring after his ARC training, being down 3 limbs only motivated him to get back to his peak form as well as he could. He can and will put anybody in the Bad Batch (including wrecker) on their shebs
Tech is ordained and can officiate weddings (no one knows when he did this or why)

Sleepover
Tumblr media
Requested by @thebadbatch2022
Tumblr media
In the nice night, Omega and Batcher were gazing at the beach "Look how beautiful is this, Batcher ? Even the night could bring the beauty to sight." Omega said.
Batcher barked in agree then licked Omega's cheek which making her laugh.
But suddenly they felt some drops on their body and quickly became the rain "Let's go, girl." Omega and Batcher rushed back into the house.
Wrecker showed up bringing towers "Ooh, look at you kids, you both are wet. You better take a shower while I'm takin' care of our big girl."
As Omega taking a shower, Wrecker struggled to dry Batcher up because she couldn't sit still for too long. He got splashed few time by her.
"Where's the others ?" Omega asked as drying her hair.
Wrecker thought "They aren't home yet, probably stuck somewhere."
"I just hope they will be okay there." Omega worried about Hunter and Crosshair. "Hey, I'm sure they'll be fine. In the meanwhile, why don't we have our own sleepover ?"
"Really ?" Omega cheered.
He nodded "Oh yeah ! Even Batcher can join this one." Batcher barked in excitement.
"So what are we gonna do first ?" She asked.
"How about we start with making a mantell mix then movie night and pillow fight ?"
"That definitely sounds fun ! But do you know how to make one ?" She replied. "Not really but I got this note how to make it." He showed a note of how to make a mantell mix. "Okay, let's do this !"
Wrecker and Omega had a high five and took all the ingredients to make mantell mix together. During their messy progress, Batcher tried to sneak eating some mantell mix on the floor.
They finally made a mantell mix "Wanna be a honor to have your first bite, kid ?" Wrecker offered a bowl of mantell mix and Omega took a bite to taste it.
"This is really good, almost as good as back on Ord Mantell." she judged.
Wrecker chucked "It means we're successed ! Now, we can have a movie night. Which movie are we gonna watch ? the magical lost princess or a princess with a mother bear ?"
"What do you think, Batcher ?" Omega let Batcher to decide. Batcher smelled both of the movies. She picked the second option "Okay, a princess and a mother bear, it is !"
At the same time, Omega was attacked by Wrecker with a pillow "Hey ! I thought we were doing pillow fight after the movie." "Well, we just changed the schudule." Omega shook her head then rushed to get her own pillow.
They were having fun of pillow fight until they were tired and lay down on the floor "Time for movie night." Wrecker said.
"Batcher, can you get my blanket, please ?" Omega asked and Batcher barked in a nod.
Wrecker and Omega cuddled each other on the sofa as watching a movie. Meanwhile Batcher enjoyed watching the movie until she fell asleep. Omega noticed aa rubbing her head "Good night, Batcher. "
15 minutes later, Omega fell asleep as Wrecker put around with a blanket "Good night kid." He kissed her forehead. He turned off the movie and enjoyed cuddling Omega until he slept as well.

#TechTober2024 - Prompt 2. Tech-o'-Lantern.
From @masksketchies festive autumn Techtober Prompt List.
This was originally just a drawing, then I was just going to give it the candle flicker effect, but then I got the crazy notion of the tactical droid spiel. I had always admired Tech, but his desperation to explain tactical droids hooked me in forever. 😂 (This is my first animation (besides a crappy but funny practice one), I'm hoping to make a little movie of a scene from one of my stories someday. A fanfic writer can dream...) @neverend-rs 🎃 @pinahallowsevecloneparty
Also added a little ficlet "The Operational Brains" featuring Wrecker and Omega:

Do you think Omega ever sturggled with not feeling like enough? Like no matter how hard she tried she wasn't strong enough, or skilled enough, or smart enough. Do you think she felt to small or to weak or to timid? Do you ever wonder if she struggled with those things? Because she was a clone so it was in her nature to be a soldier but she wasn't taught how? (I wish I could tell her that she was good enough)
And did you think Wrecker blamed himself for not holding onto the rail car when Tech initiated Plan 99. Do you think he cursed himself for still not being strong enough, for not holding on long enough, for being to heavy that he couldn't get down the rail car to save Tech. That he lost his brother because he wasn't good at the one thing he was supposed to be good at. Do you think he thought about it before he went to sleep. Knowing it was his fault he had lost another bother. (It's not his fault and I would never blame him)

Replacements is such a good episode,
and rarely the title matches the content so well.
Rampart talks about clones being replaced by conscripts. Crosshair observes his squadmates being replaced by Elite troopers. And the rest of the Batch has to deal with the problem of more mundane replacements.
Tumblr media
Edit by @thejedipost
The only one “replacement” is missing, despite being unfairly promoted by some fans: there's no hint of Crosshair being replaced by Omega. Wrecker, bless his large heart, speaks about missing Crosshair openly. Tech is stubbornly working on his scanner because the chip might be responsible for Crosshair's actions. Hunter is no less stubbornly refusing to discuss the matter with his brothers; only to Omega does he admit that he's “blaming himself.” Omega begins to find her own place in the squad, which has nothing to do with Crosshair, except repurposing his comm device later.
We also see how the replacement of clones with Imperial recruits begins with people following orders and committing war crimes of their own free will—an obvious, maybe even too obvious, contrast to the Batch. I appreciate that the most disagreeable of the new recruits unexpectedly displays moral integrity, no cheap clichés here. Gets shot on the spot also; and our poor man Crosshair is forced onto his long and lonely path of war crimes.
On the contrary, the plot around the Crosshair-less Bad Batch is very simple, but almost every interaction has been gifed and quoted through the years. Tech and Echo, bantering. Tech's “it's not affecting life support”. Hunter, discovering the first joys of parenting, when this small girl chatters happily “Oh, look, I tracked—just like you! I recovered the part! How cool is it! And, oh, here's your blaster, didn't have to use it, don't worry.”
There's one more replacement taking place. When the ship crashlands, Wrecker is  shouting, “We're gonna die!” and abruptly replaces his words with “We're gonna be fine!” upon catching Omega's panicked face. However, I hc that on screen we're shown the Disney, censored version of the “real” adventures of the Bad Batch. So, Crosshair is a chain-smoker, and caught in his emotions, Wrecker's lexicon is rather kid-unfriendly, before he remembers something-something about filtering his speech in front of the cadets 😃. And of course, Wrecker is such a darling in this episode, too, learning to be the big brother (and later a companion in mischief) to Omega.

Aaaaaaaand welcome back to wholesome Bad Batch headcanons brought to you by the recesses of my memory!
My school put on a father-daughter dance every year when I was little. It was great. My sister and I would take turns asking our dad and our grandfather to be our dates, we’d get dressed up, go out to dinner, have fun all night, etc etc. It was one of my dad‘s and my grandfather’s favorite things.
So now I’m thinking about Pabu being its wholesome self and having a father-daughter dance. Omega is at school or out with Lyana or something when she hears about it and promptly loses her mind. She goes racing home first chance she gets to ask her brothers to go to this dance with her.
Wrecker is ecstatic. He thinks this is the coolest thing. Puts it in their schedule, finds the nicest clothes he has ever owned, gets Omega to help him get ready, and absolutely has a blast.
Crosshair is, well, Crosshair—outwardly pretty nonchalant about it like “pffft, of course I’m going. Why would you think otherwise?” And on the inside he’s so touched. This is just one more thing added to the mountain of reasons why he’d kill and die for Omega.
Hunter is completely over the moon. The man is holding back tears because he just loves this kid so much and even now it’s still sometimes hard to believe that this wonderful girl wants him and his brothers in her life.

Decisions - Chapter 5 - Goodnight for Now
And here we are, the final chapter. Omega has made her choice; her brothers struggle to adapt to it.
If you missed any chapters you can catch up on AO3!
Tumblr media
It was the third time this week Omega had unpacked and repacked her bag. The ship had been primed and ready to go multiple times too. She had visited the cave on walks with Batcher, silently walking the path she knew she would take in the night, but somehow failed to follow.
But tonight was finally the night, it had to be.
Dinner in their cozy home was warm and comforting. She drank in the scents that surrounded her, took pictures with her eyes of the art hanging crooked on the walls, Wrecker’s clothes thrown over the back of the sofa and Hunter’s vibroblade sitting on random surfaces as he unconsciously carried it from room to room.
Her brothers sat, relaxed and happy, in the common room, laughing about nothing in particular. Omega wanted to stay here forever, to talk to them about everything and nothing but knew she couldn’t. She had done that for the last few nights, wanting to spend as much time with them as possible, so much so that it made it impossible for her to leave.
She put her hand up in front of her mouth as she yawned, “I think I’m going to call it a night,” she said.
“This early?” Wrecker asked looking at the chronometer in the corner of the room.
“Do you feel all right?” Hunter asked, leaning forward in his seat to get a better look at her.
“I’m fine,” she said, avoiding Crosshair’s piercing gaze.
She crossed over to wrecker, throwing her arms around his neck. “Goodnight, Wrecker.” she said, her small hand cupping his large cheek. He looked around at his brothers, confused.
“Goodnight, Crosshair,” she said, hugging him too and waiting for the two repetitive taps on her back to tell her that was enough.
Hunter stood up as she made her way around to him, “Are you sure everything’s okay?” he asked, as she buried her face in his shoulder.
“I’m fine, just tired. Goodnight, Hunter.” She said.
The goodnights were goodbyes really. She hoped they knew that once tomorrow morning came, and she was gone. She didn’t say anything different than she had any other night but there was a finality in it. She just hoped her brothers didn’t notice.
She felt their eyes on her as she walked into her room and closed the door. The bright yellow walls of her bedroom were still covered in childish drawing and paintings Crosshair had given her for various birthdays. Lula was already on the ship, as were Tech’s goggles. She opened her bag one final time, checking for all the essentials but not really knowing what she’d need.
She laid on her bed, listening to the sound of the moon-yos and feeling the warm breeze as it swept through the window. Her chest felt tight with sadness, but her stomach bubbled with excitement. This was what she was meant to do, she knew that, felt It in every fiber of her being. And she wasn’t leaving forever, she would come home and visit her brothers when she could. She promised herself that.
This was her next big adventure, out in the galaxy on her own, taking everything they had taught her with her. She knew they would be upset that she was gone but knew they would be proud as well.
***
Hunter stood frozen on the spot where he had watched Omega disappear through her bedroom door.
“So, that’s it then.” Crosshair said sadly with a sigh.
“I guess so,” Wrecker said, head hanging low. “Do we tell her we know?”
Hunter shook his head, “No, it’ll just make it harder for her. We have to let her do it her way. Even if we don’t like it.”
“So, you’re suddenly okay with this?” Crosshair hissed at Hunter, his lips twisted in on themselves, highlighting his sharp cheekbones.
“Of course not. But she’s been trying all week. It was inevitable.”
The brothers sat in silence, the air in the room heavy and oppressive.
“What will we do without her?” Wrecker asked quickly, gently wiping away a tear that trickled down her cheek.
“She’s not gone for good Wrecker,” Crosshair said impatiently, “she’ll come back. Right?” he asked, looking directly at Hunter for reassurance.
“Of course,” he said with a smile.
“I think I’ll go to bed,” Wrecker said, heaving himself out of a chair.
“It’ll be okay, Wreck.” Hunter said to his retreating back.
Wrecker waved but didn’t turn around, again wiping a tear from his face.
“You’re really not going to try to stop her?” Crosshair asked as he turned his attention back to Hunter.
Hunter shook his head. “It’s not fair. She’s made her choice. We just have to figure out a way to live with it.”
Crosshair huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“You go if you want. Not to stop her but give her a proper goodbye.”
Hunter could see his brother thinking for a minute, his eyes darting as he worked out all the possible outcomes., “I wouldn’t know what to say. I’d probably just make it worse. You should go.” He said, finally.
“And do what? Tell her not to go? I can’t do that.” Hunter said, exasperated.
“Well, then tell her off for sneaking out. That definitely sounds like something you’d do.” Crosshair said, trying his best to smile.
“Crosshair,”
“I mean it, Hunter. You have to go. Not to stop her, just…just so she knows we’re always here.”
“She knows that already, Cross. If it’s that important to you, then you should be the one…”
“I can’t watch her fly away in a ship again, Hunter. It’s…it’s too hard…”
Hunter noticed his brother’s prosthetic hand tremble slightly and realized he was reliving the night she was taken back to Tantiss, when he thought he’d lost her forever.
“Okay Cross. It’s okay. I’ll go.” He said, placing his hand on his brother’s shoulder and watching and the tremor finally ceased.
***
The moon was bright and full as Hunter made his way out of the house. Crosshair had soon retired to bed, his soft snores melding with Wrecker’s booming ones no doubt giving Omega the impression that all of her brothers were asleep.
Batcher had stirred as he opened the door, quietly padding over to nuzzle his leg.
“Ready for a walk?” he asked, patting his thigh.
Her bright pink tongue fell out of her mouth, her blue tail wagging happily as she trotted after him. The wind was cool as they made their way down to the beach. Hunter wished he’d brought something warmer to wear.
The cave was wet and dark, the faint plink plonk of water dripping a constant soundtrack. Hunter could tell from the hum of the ship that it had been primed for a quick exit.
He wandered around the hull, making sure everything was in place, and she was flight ready before Omega arrived. He didn’t need to; Omega knew the ship inside and out, but it made him feel better doing it anyway.
When he was finally out of jobs to do, he sat down on a cool rock facing the bright moon and tranquil horizon. Feeling anything but tranquil inside.
Thoughts ricocheted through his mind; the first time he met angelic Omega in the hallways of Kamino. Kamino falling around their ears, pulling her water-soaked body from the ocean. Watching her play ball on Saleucami.  Her scream of “Hunter, I need you” over the comm before they found her. Watching a shuttle carrying her unconscious body disappearing into space. Watching as Hemlock dragged her down a rain-soaked platform…
Hunter shook his head to try and knock the thoughts out. They had lived through some terrifying moments, but he had been able to share so many more happy ones. If this was when he and Omega had to part, at least for a little bit, he would focus on her playing in the waters of Pabu with Wrecker, her flying lesson with Tech, target practice with Crosshair, and teaching her to spin a knife between her fingers after the others had fallen asleep.
He would focus on the joy she had brought into his life and the lives of his brothers. The light that emanated from her very presence. It would take some time to get used to her light being at a greatest distance, but he would adapt. They all would.
He heard the distance crunching footfalls as Omega made her way down the path and waited for her feet hit the edge of the cave. He listened, as she made her way over to a large light and clicked it on. A gentle sigh escaping her lips as she saw him.
“Thought you could just sneak off?” he asked into the night, a smile on his lips.
