It is the height of hypocrisy to make a call-out post about fanon Rogue vs canon Rogue when you're staunchly part of the faction of the fanbase that exalts the fanon version as the true Rogue.
Back when Rogue was without Gambit in the 2010s, those fanon lovers hated Rogue on her own and hated that she flirted dated ANYONE who was not Gambit. Magneto, Johnny, Deadpool all were dragged no matter how cute or respectful those connections were. Rogue was hated for having a solo book in XML and leads in X-MEN and Uncanny Avengers without mentioning Gambit every 5 minutes.
There were always complaints that Rogue was boring without the Carol Danvers powerset, complaints about her costumes, complaints about her hair or artists not making her pretty enough.
All of these complaints came from the same group of people and specific individuals within that group. All because Rogue was not the Rogue they created in their minds or the one who catered to their 90s cartoon/comic nostalgia. The poster honestly does not care about Rogue if Rogue doesn't meet their specific requirements, so that whole angry canon vs fanon post is ridiculous.
i just found out that i didn't trow away the dark phoenix and X1 posters i used to have on my wall before covid, my nana bought the magazine that came with it for me when i spent the summer holidays with her :((
rip grandma you would have loved to know that i didn't out grew my nerdy marvel phase for the sake of "maturity".

Jesus. Was he designing a movie poster, or a comic book? This looks like it belongs in some sort of museum. Also, I love how the artist is credited as: "Do we have to tell you"? They knew only one man drew like this, I guess. (X-Men #51):
Phase One complete!
Turning one of my favorite comic cover arts into poster-size and putting it on a yard of fabric to hang on my wall because I didn't have paper big enough, but I have plenty of fabric and markers and paints.
Still a lot of coloring to be done, but I'm tired and my eyes need a break and I already messed up not noticing one of the face cards' heads was facing the wrong way in the resize sketch until after inking, so ehhhhhhhhh good enough, it's just going on my own wall.
Larroca forgive me for I have sinned, it's derpy as hell in a few spots and nowhere near as good as the original, but I tried to make it pretty.
Changed up some of the face card art because reasons, added to and completed a few cards where the original was missing em, and got a little nostalgic for my old rollerblades that had those same straps his gloves have while drawing em.
Phase Two will be completing the colors and maybe giving it a border/edging to clean it up and adding a hanging rod.
