After scarabias overblot, and seeing what ace and Deuce were willikg to do for you, you were so touched that you decided ro get them tattooed on your body as a small heart and a spade. After that chaos ensues-

He cant stop bragging about the tattoo, landing him in several collars from an enraged riddle and in frights with equally enraged students, but they can't do anything because you chose him of course! (Keep speaking like that delulu man and you will end up seriously hurt).

He cant stop thinking of the tattoo, loving how it matches his red heart on the eye to a T. As soon as he has enough money he's getting a tattoo of you, he promises himself that. He might ad well also get you a wedding ring right here right now-

He wants you to fill in the heart, as to show you chose him and not that goody two shoes Deuce! Pleaee please please do...

Deuce wants to cry out of happiness. You, the most beautiful and amazing and awesome and loveable and most godlike (crush) friend he could have, you have a tattoo of something referring to him..? He cant believe it. He feels his eyes well up in tears, it's too good to be true.

He has already called his mom and told her EVERYHTING (well, everything this he has "seen" (delusional boy)) that has happened, and started taking about ehat wedding ring to give you with her. She is so exited her little boy is having such a beautiful relationship, you cant break her heart now can you..

Like Ace, he wants you to fill in the spade, to show that you chose him! Not that meany yucky Ace! He will always be the better option after all- he knows how to take care of you (and how to beat up the others!)

He decides to do it himself, to show you how good it would look on you. You would look simply divine with that clover on you, you both know it. Please, please chose him, he will take care of you oh so well...

Riddle is furious. Red on the face, voice pitched up a notch, his hand reaching for his pen. This is unacceptable!! How DARE you marr your beautiful skin with these RULEBREAKERS symbols??!?!? He has to tlak some sense into you.

He expects a 10k word essay on how you were wrong and that you're sorry, along with a tart or two and a matching tattoo with him (that is bigger than both Ace and Deuce's tattoos combined-)

Jack is conflicted. He is in your close circle of friends. He hangs our with you everyday, he takes care of you (unlike those two dumbass cards), why did you chose them over him? It's unfair.

He will be way more protective of you. He has to show you he's the best for you, your one true mate, for life.. it can only be him, no one else. He would scent you as well, just like ruggie.

Ruggie wants to sob right in front of you. Why would you chose someone over him? He knows he isn't the smartest, the richest, bur he sure loves you the most! He will fight tooth and nail for that title!-

He will show it to you, he will show how he is the nest husband for you that there is, the most attentive! He will show you...

He also cannot afford to get you a tattoo, so instead he scents you, be that with his clothes, his cologne, anything that works he sure will do- for you, for your relationship..

Leona feels sick. You, chose someone over him? He is supposed to be your number one, you only.. just like how he is to you! This is unfair, he feels himself ger angrier and angrier the longer he thinks about it. He WILL have you and he for sure will have matching tattoos with your..

He is incredibly protective of you even after the chaos dies down, curling his tail around any of your available limbs and holding his hand right over the tattoo you have of those two dumbasses..

He even gives you some super expensive bracelets out of pure gold just to cover up that damn tattoo (he doesn't wanna hurt you but he still wants to rip that thing off of your body, only he gets to mark you)

I am incredibly sorry for the long wait, I got sick and have been so busy with everything else I couldn't get it done until now, bur I hope you all like the first part of the tattoo!!

Leona feels a growing headache, but also an urge to laugh. They're all such basic and silly questions, yet he's happy to know that you want to know more about lions, more about him.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ His tail is wagging and his ears are twitching but if you point this out, he'll stop answering you and is going to pretend that nothing happened. For each question answered, you have to do something for him; usually Leona asks that you join him for a nap in his room or that you talk about your day, as he likes your voice and finds it relaxing to hear.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ A lion's pride is his mate. So Leona holds you close so you can't escape from him to go around Savanaclaw asking other beastmen about their features and habits.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ "Ruggie, it's true that hyenas can purr? Can you purr for me, please?" You ask, softly, shiny eyes looking into his as you wait for something, anything. A sparkle of pink rush to his cheek as he laughed a little. "Oh! And it's true that the 'laugh' is actually a vocalization used to communicate excitement, fear, or submission? And that up to 80 hyenas can live in the same pride?"

He can't give the answer you want for free though, you have to give him a little incentive, maybe a few kisses, maybe food or you can try helping him on his errands and scratch his ears for him, either way, give your best shot as he is rooting for you. If he feels satisfied enough you will have your answers, otherwise, you can try again tomorrow.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ He like this, having you cling to his arm, asking him things, it's cute. As a hyena, he's used to be throw around, to sacrifice and give freely to feed the kids in the slums and work harder than most. He feels a little greedy and he doesn't hide it.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ "Jack, I have a few questions... How do wolves choose their leader? Is it true that wolves have an incredibly powerful bite force, capable of exerting up to 1,500 pounds per square inch?" You squint at him, right now, in his human form, Jack didn't seem capable of such things, even more with a mandible like that. His ears twitched a little, he was probably trying to think about how to respond to you, already knowing how you went to his upperclassmen with the same kind of questions. "By the way, wolves have a wide range of vocalizations to communicate, right? And they are also great at adapting to another habitat?"

He answers your questions to the best of his abilities, taking his time, so you spend more of your free time by his side. Your interest in wolves, in him more specifically, ignites a flame of interest inside him, maybe he really do have a chance with you and he'll do anything to get you to fall in love with him. For now, Jack indulges in your curiosity, he let you get close to him before trapping in his maws.

Twisted Zoo Ending One: Queen of the Jungle

In each hand you carried a bucket, filled to the brim with steaks. It was kind of nostalgic of your first time in the exhibit. It was hard to believe it wasn’t that long ago.

You hummed to yourself as you approached the lions’ area. You furrowed your brow- the rocks had been rearranged in nearly a complete circle, with just enough room for you to walk inside and approach the king of the jungle’s sunning rock.

“Hey, Leona!” you called out to the lion halfling lazily regarding you from his perch, “Dinner time!”

The pride’s leader leapt down from his resting spot and casually approached you, his movements lazy yet filled with grace. His eyes, intelligent and painfully sharp, never left you as you entered the circle of rocks.

The other lions were nowhere to be found. Confused, you searched for them in the shade of the rocks, but there was no one there.

As you reached the middle of the circle, something occurred to you. The usually-cackling hyenas were unusually quiet. The hairs on your arms stood on end. Something’s wrong.

You turned to face the circle’s exit and, within an instant, strong arms had wrapped around your stomach, pulling you back against a solid chest. You gasped and dropped both buckets as you struggled to break free. The grip did not budge no matter how hard you fought.

“Shhh, easy there, herbivore,” a voice murmured in your ear, low and gravely and filled with amusement.

Your heart jumped out of your chest. It was Leona who had spoken, but it wasn’t the Leona you knew. It was the Leona whose gaze had started to linger too long for your liking. The Leona who had always seemed too much like a predator than a human.

But he wasn’t alone. 

Now facing the circle’s gap, you saw Ruggie, grinning from ear to ear, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he blocked your only exit.

“Gotcha!” Ruggie snickered, “Took you long enough.”

“What… what are you doing?!” you cried, trying to twist out of Leona’s grasp, making no progress whatsoever on escaping.

Leona’s breath was hot against your neck, “You spend too much time with those other exhibits,” he spat out the word like it was a slur, “You must pay more attention to us.”

Ruggie snickered again and leaned casually against the towering rocks, his eyes tracking every movement you made, “You ignore us. Not fair, y’know? You must remember your real favorites.”

Panic surged through you, but you forced yourself to stay calm, “This isn’t funny- let me go.”

Leona chuckled, the sound vibrating through your back, “We’re not joking, herbivore. You play with fire, you get burnt. We don’t like to share.”

“Share?” you echoed, voice shaky with fear and confusion, “What do you-”

“You’re ours,” Leona interrupted sternly, “You have always been ours.”

Ruggie pushed off the rock and sauntered over, his sharp-canined grin widening as he got closer, “You should have seen this coming. We dropped hints. You’re just too silly to notice.”

Leona’s nose brushed against your hair, inhaling deeply, “We’re tired of waiting around. You stay here now.”

You began to thrash desperately in his hold, but he held you effortlessly, like a mouse in a cat’s jaws.

“You’ll love it here!” Ruggie cooed, “No more zoo. No more stress. Just you, us, and the savannah. We will keep you cool. It’s perfect.”

The reality of the situation hit you all at once. They weren’t going to let you leave. They were deadly serious. The playful smile Ruggie wore was just a mask for the possession lurking beneath.

It was too much for you, and as hopelessness began to sink in, you began to cry, “Please just let me go, we can forget this ever happ-”

“You will not leave,” Leona growled, “You are our mate. And if anyone tries to take you away…”

You gulped at the insinuation. 

Ruggie moved closer and brushed a stray tear from your cheek, “Don’t cry. We take good care of you, promise. You won’t worry ever again.”

The vast savannah, once one of your favorite parts of the zoo, now felt like a huge, hot cage.

You were no longer a researcher to them. That much was clear.

And there was no escape from the lion’s den.

Summary: You always followed Ruggie where ever he went. He was like an older brother to you and he too also adored you like a sister. So when he went to the night raven academy he couldn't help but whine, missing your presence to Leona.

You were one of the children that Ruggie took care of before he had to leave for Night Raven Academy. You were the one whom he worried about the most before he stepped into the carriage. You were a mischievous one, but not as much as the other kids, you were much more docile and listened to his words compared to the other troublemaker ruts.

You were just the same in a sense.

While he took care of you the most and people would often talk about how you were like his baby sister seeing that whenever he was home or even outside with a task to do you would be following him whereever he went. You were so insistent when you followed him. While it was troubling to him at first, seeing that you don't place yourself in trouble often and were well-behaved, he let you do so. Ruggie would often order you around for half of his food the next meal.

It was something that Ruggie and you had grown used to so when he called you at the dorms unable to hear the small steps of a small hyena he felt out of place.

Yet it seemed that he learned how to deal too busy dealing with Leona with his demands and messes. He tried to send you a letter, something that his grandmother commented talking how your ears would always be down saddened that he wasn't there. But no matter what he wrote he couldn't seem to write anything.

Leona heard about you from Ruggie when the boy became his henchman. At first, when the relationship was still new Ruggie would often complain about how he missed his little henchman as he cleaned Leona's room. As this went on and on Leona soon asked (in a quiet annoyed tone) who she was.

Ruggie who was given the chance to talk about his little follower took it.

"Kids are too noisy... they are annoying," Leona stated cleaning his ear with his pinky finger as he yawns bored.

"Shyehee hehee hee! You will understand when you see her, she can be quite useful if you hand her some food or money." Ruggie told him.

"Hmmmm...." Well, you certainly didn't sound like his own nephew even though you were about the same age.

The first time Leona meet you is when he visited Ruggie's home. After calling it a dog's house Leona and Ruggie were quickly bombarded by kids who were waiting for Ruggie to welcome him back but also curious as to what he was bringing.

"It's food!" "Give me!!" "I want some too!!"

The sounds of the children pained Leona's ear as he quickly backed away from Ruggie who was dealing with some children climbing all over him. Backing to a safe place from the crowd he flinched when someone tugged his shirt and looked down to see a small girl with hyena ears tugging his shirt.

"Did you come with Ruggie-nii?" You asked.

Leona grunts finding everything a hassle but answers when you pulled his shirt again asking him the same question. "Follow me!" You told him not letting go of his t-shirt, pulling him to Ruggie's home to hide from the people's eyes.

There you two stayed, waiting for Ruggie to come home.

"So this is where you were. I have been searching everywhere for you." Ruggie panted trying to catch his breath he had been trying to search for Leona after he was finally able to get the kids off his arms. "This kid helped me out a bit." Leona pointed at you. "Ehhh then why did you tell me." 

You giggled as Ruggie pinched your cheeks, giving you a little hug he gave you some food that he saved specifically for you. "Welcome home!" "Yeah yeah, Shyee hehe."

"So this is the kid you were talking about?" Leona asked.

"Shyeehehe yeah, she is." "Hmmm, she seems very efficient and less noisy than the brats that jumped on you."

Leona had offered you and Ruggie to follow him to the palace unable to sleep at the old run-down place Ruggie glared as he told you to pack your bags. "I understand why you would want me to boss me around and all but why did you invite her?" Ruggie was on guard as to why Leona would invite you with a knowing smirk on his face, he stated that you could eat as much as you want if you follow him.

"You will see."

True to that, while he worked Ruggie to the bone he also asked you to do a few things. Asking you to spy on some people within the palace and a few other errands because he also found out how sneaky you can be and if you were caught many people won't be able to touch you knowing that you were invited by the second prince.

And when Leona's nephew shows up he would toss you a small bag of money telling you to play with his nephew. You would when you looked at the money bag already trusting that he put the usual amount inside the bag.

Ruggie was super annoyed that he didn't have much time to spend with you with Leona just stacking multiple errands on him. C'mon, let him rest a little...

So imagine his surprise when he saw Leona's nephew sleeping on the floor while he was on the bed snoring. But he just could not find you anywhere as he moved around the room searching for you whispering your name scared that he would wake up the 2 lions who were taking a nap.

Ruggie was mildly panicking that he wasn't able to find you and was about to run out to find you till he found you sleeping right beside Leona softly snoring. You must have been tired and seeing the two lion sleeping must have made you sleepy too.

BUT why crawl into Leona's bed of all places!!

You were adored by the two boys, Ruggie ever since you started following him a long time ago and who watches over you like an older protective brother while Leone at first used you to get out of his nephew's hands, he didn't mind you sleeping right beside him.

Seeing that you started trailing around following Leona as he had ordered you to do just in case of any surprise visits from his nephew. Leona's brother was curious about who this little girl that Leona had right beside him was. He had heard that he brought a friend and the friend's sister to the palace but he can't understand why the sister is following him.

"Don't worry about it. Ruggie is just too busy to watch over her so she is with me right now." Leona casually explained, ignoring when Farena compliment him about it seeing that he was worried that Leona didn't like children but it seems that he didn't have to worry about him anymore.

You and Ruggie were really useful to keep by his side.

So imagine when Leona woke up unable to see anyone in his room, he looked at the time and noticed that he slept a little more than usual. Ruggie had told you to always wake Leona up when he sleeps too much in his naps and while you always followed what you were asked to do to a T you didn't come to wake him up.

He yawned a little satisfied that he was able to sleep a little more and tried to call you but you didn't answer. Maybe you went out to get something to eat, he didn't ask you to do any errands today besides to watch out for his nephew. Yet as time passed, you didn't come back...

Strange... He thought to himself wondering what had happened. He can't help but feel like something bad has happened.

Getting up from his bed he headed to the door in order to look for you, only to see one of the servants outside his door jump in surprise. "Hmm, what are you doing here," Leona asked the servant, who looked anywhere but him fidgeting under his gaze.

"Ah- uhh..." 

"Spit it out already, I have other matters to attend to." Unable to wait anymore he was about to leave before the servant stopped him. "Well, you s-see..."

His heartbeats thundered in his ears as he briskly walked to one of the guest rooms. The aura he was excluding was angry, which made the servants and other guests flinch when they saw the second prince stomping past them.

Slamming open the door, ignoring the shouts and yelps of surprise he stopped when he saw you all bandaged up sleeping on the bed with a doctor right beside you. The smell of blood was strong in the room.

It was your blood.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!" Turning to his side Leona saw the shocked face of Ruggie who was right beside him. His eyes shaking, of concern and anger. "WHAT HAPPENED!" Ruggie shouted again when nobody answered him and ran to your side.

Leona didn't move from his place in front of the door yet others could feel the bloodlust emitting from the second prince. "Tell me what happened here and leave no details out. Unless you want to be turned to dust." His voice was calm but it promised pain to those who think they could lie their way out of this.

It was the doctor who explained what had happened.

It seems that many were jealous of you a hyena who looked to be taken care of by Leona. They were jealous that you were beside him when he pushed many others away from him, especially kids who looked fondly to him. While there were a few others who wanted to become friends with Cheka yet were unable to. Seeing you a lowly Hyena who wasn't even royalty so close to his nephew... it seems everything was done out of jealousy. 

When they saw walking alone to the kitchens they thought that this was the chance.

"They are only just kids Leona. You should forgive them-" "Who are you to order what I should do doctor." Leona's eyes were glaring as he pushed his hair away from his face. The doctor flinched and looked down.

When you woke up you were in Leona's room, Ruggie was right beside you sleeping. You saw the dark circles under his eyes, and everything hurt but you tried to reach out to him to somehow rub those eyebags of when a voice suddenly stopped you.

"I wouldn't do that it I were you. The runt didn't sleep at all watch over you." You looked to see Leona on the other side of the bed standing and looking down at you. You looked at him hesitantly as he takes a seat beside you.

"Did you know?" He asked, "That a few runts hated you?"

Understanding showed in your eyes as your mind quickly connected everything that was at the moment fuzzy. Slowly you nodded your head. Slowly you nodded your head thinking that Leona would get angry at you instead he did the opposite flicking your forehead as he lay down on the bed.

"Sleep kid. I didn't get any sleep cause of you last night so don't you dare wake me up this time." He threatened you while lightly grabbing your shoulder so as not to hurt you and pushed you back to bed, Ruggie grumbled at the sudden movement, his sleep disturbed but didn't wake up as he called your name.

You looked at Leona and then Ruggie unsure what to do when Leona spoke again. "Don't worry, they won't be coming back. I and your brother dealt with them. You will never see them again." You didn't understand what he meant by that, did he kick them out of the palace or something?

Leona yawned tiredly and soon fell asleep. Looking at the familiar sleeping face you smiled, grabbing your brother's hand with yours you looked up at the ceiling and closed your eyes.

Your brother Ruggie and Leona would protect you that much you knew. You just didn't know to what point they would do so.

So im mainly gonna focus on grim, no offence to ramshackle ghost fans, I just really like the silly little fire-cat/rat/weasel/creature. He was literally our first friend, our first companion (I bet Ace and grim bicker on who was your first).

And oh boy, guy is NOT HAPPY when he sees all these dumbasses vying for your attention and either trying to butter him up with tuna (which will not work on the mighty grim!) or ugnore him completely! Like you stated you and him are a package deal! Get the prefect and get their silly hungry companion!!

Now, grim surely uses his position as your closest companion as a safety net, they can't kill off the closest you have to family in this world! Guess they gotta live with him if they wanna have a life with you.

Ace hates that grim was your friend before him, feeling annoyed whenever he bullied (Juice) Deuce about being friends with you before him only for grim to butt in. Ace isn't too annoyed with grim though, and grim thinks that Ace is one of the better choises of the roster you have, they're both friends after all.

Of course most students in the cast don't liek "sharing" you with grim, especially the more territorial ones. Leona is probably the worst, I mean come on they're both feline looking creatures. With scent being a heavy thing for felines (yes even beastmen dont come at me) Leona is not happy to have his scent on you be muddied by the little rodent (the greatest mage of all, grim). Probably the worst choise since they're just gonna bicker to the end of the world..

Floyd doesn't like this either! Not fair that he has to share!! And with grim no less.. Floyd results in biting you instead of scenting, his chompers being good for nibbling on you. He also has the advantage that grim is sorta afraid of him (honestly who wouldn't be? Especially yan Floyd...).

Kalim tries to brime grim, with anything he could ever think off! Unlimited tuna for grim, and the best there is as well!! Nything grim could ever want on a silver platter, only if grim let's kalim marry you! That alone doesn't sound too bad, but that unsettling horrifying servant that follows Kalim around. He knows what jamil can do, and he sure does NOT want you with that dude!- guy is manipulative and creepy (he would definelty seperate you and grim!-)

Malleus... Malleus scares grim, guys is honestly horrifying. Threatening to curse him into an eternal slumber so he can whisk you away from him, he doesn't want that! You would also get sad id malleus did that, so luckily the possessive dragon had to share (for now...)

Whoever you choose, grim would probably disapprove, guy thinks of you as family (he will never admit that tho). He cares about you, and he is not okay with the invasion of privacy from these teenagers! >:(

Gn!reader x Leona

TW: Stalking, manipulative behaviors/manipulation, minor violence/kidnapping mentions, isolation, bribery.

Leona is someone who has put in a lot of effort only to repeatedly never be able to change anything about where he stands—forever stuck in second place and has come to terms with never being able to truly be able to be first for long, eventually relying on underhanded tactics (like in book 2).

That doesn’t change with you.

Leona understands himself a lot more than he lets on, so as soon as he has feelings for you—he knows it, but will wait to see if they’re fickle or if they last. Once they do last? That’s when everything will start.

As much as he would prefer being able to just be blunt—he isn’t going to take a rejection well and that will make this a whole lot harder for him, so instead he’ll try to make it harder for you not to like him.

Ruggie is about to get a lot more work running you lunch everyday—although Leona will make sure to conveniently be trying to nap where you are later and ask how it was so you know it was from him for sure.

Speaking of conveniently napping where you are—that starts happening a lot, whether or not you know it.

Once the lunch becomes a routine between you two—he’ll start enjoying them with you by telling you Ruggie was complaining about having to run two different places so it’d be better if you two just enjoyed lunch together, right? After all, you two are such good friends.

It’s during this new routine of having lunch together he’ll slide in gifts—money, even—brushing each one off so casually.

Try to refuse? He’ll insist with a stubborn, albeit lazy, huff. If somehow refused more than he could insist, he’ll just slip it in your back.

If anyone else minus Ruggie, Grim, and maybe Ace/Deuce or Jack on a good day try to sit with you two he won’t be happy.

He won’t even hide it all too much either, actively glaring at them nearly the whole meal.

It won’t take too long after all these lunches, gifts, and the obvious jealous sting for you to piece together that he likes you.

Once he realizes you pieced it together, he’ll ask you out.

If you don’t reject him, everything should be fine for awhile—albeit he’ll be extremely overprotective and you will probably slowly notice your entire life becoming Leona.!

If you do reject him that’s where it gets interesting…

He seems to take the rejection fine, albeit disheartened. He knew it was a possibility—but old feelings die hard and if there’s one thing he refuses to be second place in, it’s in your eyes.

He’ll still have Ruggie run you food, but he’ll stay away.

In fact, everyone but Ruggie (and Grim) will stay away—and even then, Ruggie will only run food for Leona. Lunches will become isolating and classmates will actively scoot away from you and leave you to be alone.

With the obvious “Leona is behind this” red flag due to the sheer coincidence—it won’t take long for you to confront him on it.

That’s exactly what he wants.

He’ll be upset and turn it around. Just how could he do that? It’s really coincidental, sure, but how could he even manage that? Threatening everybody? Surely, that’d get back to you somehow, right? Wasn’t the rejection of his feelings enough for you to hurt him?

He’s sewing the seeds of doubt, and guilt, until you realize just how stupid your words sound. Of course, Leona couldn’t have done all this.

When he has you apologizing, he’ll ask for a little bit of space.

Then, just like before the confrontation, you’ll be alone—only lunches run to you.

Isolation and guilt really do help sew the seeds for thoughts—maybe going out with Leona wouldn’t have been such a bad idea, it wasn’t like he was a bad guy. Plus you have to make it up to him for accusing him of something so ridiculous. Maybe your friends were busy and you were always this isolated, it’s not like many of your classmates talked to you before anyway…right?

When you come to Leona with an apology gift he graciously accepts it—casually mentioning in the middle of apologies and chat that the date is still on the table if you suddenly decide otherwise.

He’s waiting for you to get on the opportunity, even if it is a date you convinced yourself to go on from guilt.

He’ll make it the best date anyone could possibly give, he hates putting in so much effort upfront—but he knows he needs to at least put in something so outwardly so that you keep coming back for more.

That’s when the isolation will slowly stop, sure classmates still scoot away from you but it’s more obviously to talk to friends nearer to eachother now, and even friends start talking to you again complaining of how much the teachers had decided to give to them for random offenses of trouble (or trouble that had been unwillingly caught up in cough cough Jack), which for Ace/Deuce had surely seemed more than understandable.

What you don’t know won’t hurt you though, right?

Like how he had bribed Crowley and the teachers to take such measures. How he threatened some students to do such things, and had threatened them later to stop making it so obvious. How he had made sure it went on long enough to mess with your memory of just how isolated you were from everyone else before, and how he had to do so much threatening and bribing to make sure you didn’t hear a word. Honestly, if this was anyone else—he wouldn’t waste the effort.

Lucky it worked too—because had anyone decided to break through his careful threats and bribery to talk to you, and ruin this whole plan?

Well, he wasn’t entirely above getting his hands a little dirty and taking you as retaliation for the planned being ruined.

And trust me, being kidnapped by Leona is worse than cooperating with the lion prince’s more elaborate plans. Much less chains, anyway.

To be honest, all of the dorm heads intimidated you.

Riddle, as you had come to know through Deuce and Ace, was probably the strictest person you had ever met. He had hundreds of rules, most of which were oddly specific, and he collared anyone who broke them, making them lose their magic until he saw fit.

Even as someone with no magic to your name, it still scared you.

Azul was a scheming bastard, tricking people into making contracts that put them at a severe disadvantage, then stealing something from them when they inevitably failed.

Then, there was the floating tablet. The device was supposedly controlled by a housewarden back in his dorm, but it was strange enough to creep you out a little.

Malleus was absolutely terrifying, with his horns that looked like they could skewer you and an expression on his face like he just might do that if you looked at him wrong. Plus the rumors of his power made you tremble in his presence.

Kalim and Vil, you had to admit, didn’t seem too bad from what you’d seen. You would still have to get to know them to make a final judgment.

But the one who scared you most was Leona Kingscholar.

His face was twisted into a menacing frown, his green eyes glaring at everyone around him like they personally annoyed him. He was muscular and stood at a daunting 6 feet tall. He had a scar down one eye- an injury that made you wonder how he got it. 

You had to admit, he was handsome, but he also terrified you. You knew from the moment you saw him that he wasn’t someone to mess with.

You liked to walk through the botanical gardens. There were all kinds of beautiful trees and flowers, some the same as the ones in your homeworld, and others that you were sure were unique to the world you had found yourself in.

Your eyes moved from each plant, never looking down at your feet. Why would you, when there was so much to see and smell?

You should have looked down.

Suddenly, you pitched forward, your foot catching on something. You tried in vain to keep your balance, but you ended up on your hands and knees anyway. Your knees and palms felt like they were on fire and, when you lifted your right hand, you found that you were bleeding.

A growl sounded from behind you- one that sounded dangerously like a lion’s. Slowly, you turned your head.

Leona’s tail was lying in the walkway. The walkway you had just been walking down.

Oh my God, I tripped on his tail!

“I am so sorry!” you spluttered, standing up as quickly as possible, “I wasn’t paying attention!”

“Clearly,” Leona snarled, baring his teeth. You couldn’t help but notice that his canines ended in sharp fangs. He got to his feet and you cowered as his shadow fell over your figure. He was even taller up close.

“I’m sorry,” you squeaked.

“You should be,” Leona snapped, “I was taking a nap and you disturbed my sleep.”

You trembled under his gaze. He looked down at you like a predator sizes up its prey. 

The warm garden seemed to drop 50 degrees. The shadows of the tall trees seemed to stretch into the shapes of clawing hands. Your nose no longer smelled the sweet scents of the flowers.

Leona looked you up and down and a smirk spread across his lips. You didn’t know that he could smile, but somehow, it was worse than his frown.

“You’re that magicless girl with no home to go back to, aren’t you?” he asked.

You nodded meekly, then changed your mind “I do have a home to go to, the mirror just couldn’t find-” you fell silent at the glare he sent your way. A scowl that clearly told you to shut up.

Leona took a few steps forward and leaned in toward your neck. You froze, unable to move if you tried. He took a deep inhale and, finally, leaned back to look you over once again.

“I can’t smell a speck of magic on you,” he said condescendingly, “You really don’t belong here, do you?”

You weren’t sure what to say, so you stayed quiet. Leona took a step forward and you took a step back in response. Leona's predatory gaze followed your every move, a wicked smile playing on his lips. 

“I- I have to go,” you stuttered, mouth feeling as dry as the desert.

“I’m not stopping you,” Leona replied, his voice a deep rumble, as though he thought you were amusing.

The only problem was, you had to get past him to leave the botanical garden. You trembled from head to toe as you squeezed by him. You swore you could hear him take another sniff of you as you passed him.

You walked robotically to the exit, your mind on autopilot as you left the frightening housewarden behind. As you left, Leona called out to you one last time.

“I’ll have you make it up to me, little mouse.”

You didn’t return to the botanical garden after that incident. However, Leona seemed to pop up wherever you went.

You weren’t in the same classes, yet he appeared in the hallways outside each of your classrooms. He had to have been skipping class for some of these occurrences. 

He didn’t do anything to you, but you knew that he was there for you by the way his green eyes locked onto your form, boring holes into the back of your head as you hurried away from him.

The first time he showed up at your dorm scared you to death.

You had just been hanging out with Deuce and Ace at the Heartslabyul dorm, goofing around while getting a small amount of homework done. Grim raced ahead of you, his small figure disappearing in the darkness before suddenly reappearing, running toward you with a worried expression on his face.

“Did you invite that Savanaclaw Housewarden over?” Grim asked hesitantly.

“What?” it felt like you had been doused with cold water, spreading down your back and making you shiver, “No, of course not! Please tell me he’s not…”

“He’s there,” Grim jumped up and down, “What are we supposed to do? Do we fight him?”

“No!” you said quickly, “We’ll just have to ask him what he wants.”

Your feet felt like lead, dread weighing you down as you headed back to Ramshackle Dorm. Sure enough, Leona Kingscholar’s himself came into sight. The intimidating lion prince stood on your doorstep, facing you and Grim as you helplessly made your way toward him.

“L-Leona,” you stuttered, your heart speeding up in fear, “What are you doing here?”

The man looked at the broken down house you lived in, “I came to see what the excitement was about your dorm. I wanted to know why Azul was so interested in getting his tentacles all over this place.”

You nodded, not really understanding what he meant, but wanting to agree with him nonetheless. You really didn’t want to upset him.

Leona looked down at you, a bored expression on his face. 

There was something wrong with him, you decided. It took you a few seconds to find out just why he put you on edge so much. 

It was his eyes. They were clouded with an emotion you couldn’t decipher and locked on you. The gaze was purely predatory, making you feel small and helpless compared to him.

“I really don’t see what the excitement is about,” Leona said, condescending once more, “It looks like any old shack to me.”

Grim shook a clenched paw at him, “Hey! We’re working on fixing it up! You should see the bedroom- we totally remodeled it!”

Leona gave Grim a disdainful frown, “Ah, I see you still have the raccoon with you.”

“I’m not a raccoon!” Grim yelled.

You grabbed Grim’s shoulder as he attempted to advance on Leona, shrieking, “Lemme at him! Lemme at him! We’ll see who’s a raccoon!”

To your surprise, Leona laughed. Then, as if nothing had happened, his face resumed its familiar frown. His eyes locked onto yours, the hungry gaze making you tremble in fear once more.

He didn’t say a word as he slunk away from Ramshackle dorm, merely staring you down, even as he disappeared into the darkness.

You opened the door to your dorm and you and Grim made a beeline for the bedroom. You each got in your respective beds without you even changing into your pajamas. You stared up at the ceiling, fully awake. Hours ticked by and still sleep evaded you.

That day you didn’t see Leona after any of your classes. It should have put you at ease, but instead it put you on edge. Had he grown bored of you?

Somehow you didn’t think that was the case.

Since it was a Friday, the teachers decided to assign a mountain of homework to do. You struggled to fit all of your textbooks in your backpack, but the struggle to carry them all was even harder.

Grim and you split ways; you deciding to get an early start on your homework while Grim went to goof off and put it off to the last minute.

You trudged all the way to Ramshackle dorm and struggled up the stairs. As soon as you had gotten to your room, you let the backpack drop, panting for breath after all the labor you had endured.

When you opened the door, time itself seemed to stop.

There, on your bed, lay Leona, a sharp-toothed smirk playing across his face. He cocked his head at you in an almost-cute way, but you weren’t deceived. Not when his heavy gaze was so predatory.

“You sure took your time getting back,” he drawled, his smirk turning sly.

You stumbled backward, “Leona? How did-”

“Ah, the perks of being a cat,” he yawned, stretching out on your bed as if he owned it, “I can easily slip in undetected.”

“Night Raven College has its dangers,” Leona drawled, “You’re the only girl in an all boys’ school, after all.”

“I can handle myself thanks,” you said coldly.

Leona’s laugh echoed across the room, booming in your ears. Your cheeks heated up, feeling as though you were being looked down upon.

“You have no idea what could happen to you,” in a flash, Leona was right in front of you. You recoiled in shock, but one of his hands gripped your chin before you could get too far, “Someone could lock you away forever, and you wouldn’t be able to do a thing.”

He leaned forward until his hot breath played across your face, “Do you understand?”

You managed to nod, knowing there was only one answer he would accept.

“Don’t worry, little mouse,” Leona purred once more, “You’re under my protection. No one would dare hurt you as long as I watch over you.”

The way Leona looked down at you made you feel like you were an insignificant, helpless little bit of prey playing right into his hands.

I think his sight on marriage would neither be negative nor positive?

He already takes care of the people in the slums so I doubt that a family (even if it’s just you two) would be something he would be against

Only downside would be that marriage can be quite expensive but let us talk about that when the time is right

So our the hyena was just trying to get away from Rook who eyed his tail like he was ready to take the pelt off of his tail, for “le foulard” or whatever…

And then suddenly he hears a few certain words… “I wish could enter your world to marry you…”

You see, there is class difference between Leona and him. Leona is admiring you, you who gave the King of Beasts a chance and in return for him to grant a chance to the lowest of the low, the hyenas

So his admoration for you is on a whole other level

If you were to ask he would make “le foulard” himself

Mhm totally not gut wrenching…

But what can he bring to the table? Yes, he may be good at doing work of all kinds but in the eyes of most he is nothing more than a lowly, dirty, useless hyena from the slums

From that point on he is trying even harder to earn money, take care of everyone and now even to climb the ladder up as well

Whenever he returns home he is also having that distant look in his eyes, imagining how it would be to have you here

But then again, he is a lowly hyena… nope, he might appear like it’s not bothering him but in truth it does hurt him somewhere in there

But when he talks to the kids in the slums and tells them stories about you they have changed

Before… that he was always saying how just you were and how great it was that you didn’t see people as who they were born but rather as who they are on the inside

Now he is getting that gentle tone in his voice, telling them of kindness as well

Oh what he would do have you with him… Maybe in another life outside of the slums…

Since Jack is from the Shaftlands his view on you is a completely different one
