Welcome to the Problematic MCU Ship Tournament!

This blog will pit 64 different pairings against one another. All of them are in some way “problematic”- some feature a minor and an adult, others feature incestuous pairings, others still simply have questionable or potentially abusive dynamics. Many ships combine elements of more than one.

Each day, 4 polls will be posted pitting two different ships together (for a total of 8 ships per day). You are free to vote in as many or as few of these polls as you’d like.

This blog is explicitly pro-ship and anti-censorship, and obviously features dark themes. If this is a point of discomfort for you, you are free to block this blog, I don’t bite. Hate towards anyone (and anything unreasonably rude about ships or characters) will not be published and users that send it will be blocked. Yelena Belova wasn't the best girlfriend in the world, she had come to realize lately. It wasn't as if she didn't adore Kate Bishop with all her heart... but Yelena knew herself to be more comfortable at a distance, even in a relationship. It didn't start too frequent, but Yelena caught herself putting up barriers. When Kate wanted to plan a date night, Yelena might feign disinterest, even though the idea excited her. When Kate would want to spend all day together in bed, Yelena would joke that she was being clingy.

Yelena didn't know why she acted this way, necessarily. Perhaps she wanted Kate to feel more dependent on her for approval. Perhaps Yelena could recognize a good thing, and deep down, she didn't know if she deserved it.

It was unfair to Kate, but the pattern didn't stop. Yelena knew that Kate wasn't going anywhere — and if anything, that thought gave her fewer reasons to break the harmful cycle. Kate had few friends and even fewer romantic interests. Yelena was her "one and only."

Until she wasn't.

Kate and Yelena had bumped up against magic-users in their missions together, but this time was different — this time, Kate kept a souvenir: an amulet that would let her temporarily "duplicate" herself into two identical bodies.

Yelena was impressed by the artifact, and so, typical for her, she had to say something snide to the archer. "Good, now you have somebody to spend time with instead of nagging me all day long, Kate Bishop."

Kate took her seriously. The next time Yelena rebuffed her for a date night, Kate used the amulet and spent time with herself instead. Yelena rolled her eyes when Kate told her the next day.

"It was actually pretty fun," Kate admitted with a coy smile. "We have all the same likes and dislikes. She's easy to talk to."

Yelena held back her laughter. Kate was practically spending time talking to herself in the mirror, for all Yelena cared. It felt simple and harmless, and a little pathetic. Yelena didn't say as much out loud, though — she just let the "Kates" have their fun, trusting that they would tire of the novelty soon enough.

But the weeks went on. Kate spent more and more time using the amulet: she'd conjure a double of herself to run multiple errands in the same afternoon, or to lend a helping hand on challenging missions, or even for casual company at home. Kate would always update Yelena, too, and it seemed all fine and dandy. Kate was giving herself emotional support that Yelena had passed on... so, all in all, it was a innocent system. They were all happy.

But then why was Yelena feeling... jealous? Was that possible? Kate was just spending time with *herself* after all — there was nothing to be jealous of, really. She couldn't tell if the Kates were being simply naive and earnest when they'd send photos of the two acting cute and flirty, or when Kate would tell stories of giving herself a back rub, or cuddling with the clone for movie nights. Was Kate trying to drive Yelena crazy with envy, or was Kate just earnestly compatible with herself — and Yelena was making something out of nothing?

Yelena knew she should have just communicated her feelings. She should have said "I miss you" or "I wish you'd spend time with me, instead" — but true to her form, she doubled down. She made the worst possible move to drive a deeper wedge into the problem:

"You should sleep with yourself, Kate. I'm serious. I bet it would feel amazing."

Kate was fully taken aback. The thought hadn't crossed her mind in the least. "Wait, really? Wouldn't that be, like, cheating on you?"

Yelena couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. "No, it would be fine. Actually I encourage it," she lied through her teeth. Every word of it stung, but she couldn't help herself. It felt impossible to tell Kate the truth: that Yelena wanted all Kate's attention and affection to herself. That she loved her. Instead, she smiled and egged her on. "Do it, I dare you."

Kate made it clear that taking things that far with the clone would be unlikely. Yelena was relieved, knowing she didn't have anything to worry about. For a week or two, the envy seemed to settle. Kate was still hers, but Yelena took all the wrong lessons away from the close-call. The barriers became more glaring. She teased Kate for making sweet gestures. She didn't say "I love you" back when prompted. She made plans to go out with friends to make Kate jealous — to push her away, senselessly, even more than she did before. Yelena hated herself for it, but she couldn't stop. It was toxic.

Kate was at home that evening, knowing that Yelena was out having fun without her. She summoned the double.

"Glad you're here," she whispered.

"I know," the double replied — they always agreed, always shared the same thoughts. "I feel the same."

The biggest thought remained unspoken: maybe Yelena's suggestion was right. Maybe it would feel good to sleep with herself. Kate hadn't been able to shake the thought — and now, feeling like she needed comfort and touch, with Yelena so far away...

"We could try it," the double whispered.

"We could."

They agreed to start with just kissing, which was bizarre at first. Each Kate vied for dominance in the exact same way, mirroring the others motions subconsciously. They giggled, then tried again, and again, until they could get it right. It was different than kissing Yelena.

"We feel softer," Kate whispered into her clone's lips before pinning her to the futon and upping the pace. "Yelena was right..."

"...this is amazing," she completed the other's thought before opening her mouth wide and letting herself give in. "We're going all the way?"

The other Kate nodded and began kissing across Kate's cheek, then to her neck. "I'm game if you are," she hummed against Kate's skin. "I can't deny... this is really fucking hot."

Kate was already lifting her clone's shirt up over her head, diving in with hands and lips against her chest, indulging to her fullest against the mirror image of her own body. She was so wrapt up in the sheer joy and ecstasy of the moment that she couldn't hear her phone ringing from across the room.

Yelena had realized her mistake. She regretted every ounce of feigned disinterest and deliberate neglect that she had cast towards Kate over the months... and she was panicking. That evening, the jealousy had returned like a tsunami. Why did she have a sudden feeling in the pit of her gut that she was loosing Kate in this very moment — that the love of her life was slipping through her fingers.

Yelena was halfway to Kate's place when Kate finally texted her back: "Taking your advice and having some fun with myself ;) Text you tomorrow."

Yelena's heart split in her chest. By the time she got home, her cheeks were stained with tears and her mind was flooded with the image of Kate being with another woman. It didn't matter that it was herself. Yelena regretted all that she had done to lead to this point. She needed to turn a new page. She needed to tell Kate how she felt.

Yelena arrived early to Kate's apartment with breakfast the next morning. Kate emerged from the bedroom, hair messed, lips swollen, and gave Yelena a sweet kiss. Moments later, the other Kate followed.

"You're still split," Yelena tried to hide her emotions.

The Kates giggled. "We've merged and split a few times since last night," they explained, casting flirty glances at one another, clearly eager to get each other undressed yet again.

Yelena swallowed her pride. "Then I'll say this to you both, Kate Bishop." She told them everything. Yelena told them how much they meant to her — how madly in love she was. How she had always pushed the people away that she cared about. How she had felt jealousy over Kate's bond with the double. How she should never have encouraged them to sleep with each other. How much it hurt to realize that it had finally happened — and that Yelena had wished she had been honest with herself sooner.

They cried — all three of them. Eventually the Kates merged back into one and gave Yelena a deep, soulful hug.

"I love you."

"I love you, too."

Kate apologized fully for what she did, but Yelena pushed back. "You did nothing wrong. First of all, I encouraged it, and second of all it was just you being with you, I shouldn't have been jealous. It's natural."

Kate blushed just thinking about it. "You're not mad?"

Yelena shook her head.

"Because," Kate pulled out the amulet and slid it across the table towards Yelena. "I think it might be your turn to give it a whirl."

Request - You think you can do a fanfic on Kate and Yelena switching bodies with Clint finding out later on

You and Kate walked into the apartment and Yelena is making macaroni and cheese. Kate is happy to see Yelena, Kate ran up to her and hugged her. Yelena isn't much of a hugger but Kate still hugs her. You know Yelena because of Kate and Clint, Lucky starts to bark and sniff Yelena’s hand.

“How long you will be in New York?” You asked.

“Just for a while. You and Kate took too long to come home, so I made macaroni and cheese with hot sauce” Yelena said.

“Yelena, you know I can't handle hot sauce,” You said.

“Toughen up, Y/n. Dinner is ready” Yelena said.

“I’m going to order something else,” You said.

You did order food for yourself and Kate eats macaroni and cheese. Yelena always smiles when she feeds pizza to Lucky. Yelena starts to talk about what she has been up to, sometimes Yelena teases you for not looking hot sauce.

Yelena and Kate finished fighting a magic-user. It wasn't easy but they managed to defeat the villain, but before leaving the villain cast a magic spell on them and disappeared.

“What was that?” Kate asked.

Yelena shrugged her shoulders “Who cares, let's go leave already. I want to take off my suit already”

“Yeah, let's go home,” Kate said.

Yelena is staying with Kate, you, and Clint for a while. They are on a mission alone, you are busy with something else, and Clint is getting new arrows. Kate and Yelena are in their room. Kate fell asleep on the bed and Yelena took a shower and stayed in her room all night.

The next day... Kate wakes up and heads to the kitchen. She was going to pet Lucky but he started to bark and she was confused about why.

“What’s wrong, boy?” Kate asked.

He runs away and Kate is confused and she is going to make breakfast. You walked into the kitchen and Kate smiled at you.

“Morning, Yelena,” You said.

“Yelena?” Yelena (Kate) said.

“Yeah, that's your name,” You said and you look at her strangely.

“I’m not Yelena. I'm Kate” Yelena (Kate) said.

“What is going on? You are not Kate. Plus Kate can't even do a Russian accent” You said.

Kate is confused and speechless. You and Kate heard Yelena scream from the bathroom. You and Kate ran to the bathroom.

“What happened, Kate?” You asked.

“What? I'm not Kate!” Kate (Yelena) yelled.

“Yes, you are!” You yelled.

Kate and Yelena yelled at each other. You are confused about why they are angry at each other.

“Oh my God, this is like Freaky Friday” Yelena (Kate) said.

“Freaky what” Kate (Yelena said.

“Whatever prank this is don't do it anymore,” You said and walked away.

They go after you and they start to talk at the same time...

“You two need to stop talking at the same time,” You said.

“Sorry,” They said in sync.

“Wow, you are so short. Look, Y/n we really switched bodies. We have been roommates for a long time. You should know stuff I can do and I can't do” Yelena (Kate) said.

“You are lucky I can't kill you,” Kate (Yelena) said.

Kate (Yelena) starts to make pancakes and eggs. After a while, you try the food, and it tastes good.

“Oh my God, this is witchcraft. Kate, you can't cook at all. Last time, you made me a cake for my birthday and there were eggshells inside the cake” You said.

Yelena and Kate start to talk at the same time, you just watch them argue. You don't know what to do or say, and you try to think of something.

Natasha and Clint got worried and they head to the apartment. But Natasha arrived with Fanny and Lucky starts to bark. You explain to them what is going on and they don't believe you. Kate and Yelena walked into the living room, you tell them that Clint and Natasha don't believe what happened.

“Y/n is telling the truth we switched bodies,” Yelena (Kate) said.

Natasha rolled her eyes and sighed.

“We are not in the mood for games,” Natasha said.

“Ask them a question that no one would know except for Yelena or Kate,” You said.

“Okay, fine. Yelena why did you give Fanny that name” Natasha said.

“Because it's cute?” Yelena (Kate) said unsure.

“Wrong answer,” Natasha said.

“I named her after one of your uncover Shield missions where your alias was, "Fanny Longbottom'" and I told you about it when we had food and beer,” Kate (Yelena) said.

“Is she right?” Clint asked Natasha.

“She is right. How did this happen?” Natasha said.

Yelena and Kate start to speak at the same time, then you started to say something now Natasha and Clint are confused.

Natasha and Clint were going to take you, Kate, and Yelena, to see Doctor Strange but something happened. You and the others have to fight the Tracksuit Mafia, but it's not easy. You are trying to block the punches from the enemy. Then you, Natasha, and Clint noticed how Yelena and Kate are fighting.

“Your arms are so short!” Yelena (Kate) said.

“You just don't know how to fight” Kate (Yelena) said.

Kate was going to kick the guy but didn't because her legs are short. You helped Kate by kicking him in the leg and then punching him in the stomach.

“I had him!” Yelena (Kate) yelled.

“No, you didn't! And you're welcome” You said.

“Ugh!” Yelena (Kate) yelled.

“I don't have any advice for this situation but don't get killed,” Clint said to Kate.

“That's all you have to say to me?” Yelena (Kate) said.

“Yes,” Clint said.

Kate (Yelena) is fighting the bad guys without any issues. She easily beat them and she is being cocky again.

Clint and Natasha called Doctor Strange for help and he said yes.

“Wait, he is a magician and he can help is?” Kate (Yelena) asked.

“Wait, do you mean he is actually a wizard! So he can really do magic and he knows spells!” Yelena (Kate) cheerfully said.

“Yes, he can do magic and he knows spells. He said knows how to fix the situation” Clint said.

“Finally, because this situation was driving me insane,” You said.

Yelena smacked your arm and you start to rub your arm. You said something in Russian and she glared at you.

“I will pretend I didn’t hear that,” Kate (Yelena) said.

An hour later, you and the others went to Doctor Strange’s home. It didn't take long for him to find the spell.

“Will this hurt?” Yelena (Kate) asked.

“No, it won't hurt. If you want to stay like this then I don't have to do anything” Doctor Strange said.

“No!” Yelena and Kate yelled.

You laughed. Doctor Strange starts to cast the spell, and it's starting to work. Now they are back in their bodies and they are happy about it.

You and the others went home, Lucky starts to lick Kate’s face and Fanny lets Yelena pet her.

“Well, now we know they are back to normal” Clint said.

“Yelena, what are you doing with Y/n’s suit?” Kate asked.

“It's payback for putting shaving cream in my boots,” Yelena said.

“Oh...about that...” Kate said.

“I’m putting itching powder. You better not tell Y/n” Yelena said.

“Oh... Oh okay yeah... I won't tell” Kate nervously said.

Yelena is putting itching powder on the suit. It was Kate who put shaving cream in Yelena’s boots, not You. Yelena assumed it was you because sometimes you would prank everyone.

You and Clint came back with Lucky. You went to your bedroom and start to put on the suit, Yelena smirked at Kate. Ten minutes later you come out.

“Okay, let's go before they can sell the guns,” Clint said.

“Umm, where is Natasha?” Kate asked.

“At the warehouse keeping an eye on them. We have to hurry up now” Clint said

While heading to the warehouse, everyone starts to notice you are scratching yourself.

“What’s wrong?” Yelena asked.

“I don't know. I think the fabric softener is making me itch” You said.

You keep scratching yourself all over your body. Yelena smirked again at Kate, she starts to scratch your back.

“Natasha, said we have to fight now so get ready,” Clint said.

You did try to fight the bad guys but couldn't.

“Wait a minute!” You yelled.

“What?” the thug said.

“I'm itching really bad! Can you scratch my back” You said.

“Umm, sure?” The thug said unsure.

The thug starts to scratch your back while you scratch your arms and neck. Yelena starts to laugh

“Why are you laughing?” You asked.

“I put itching powder on your suit. It's payback for putting shaving cream in my boots” Yelena said.

Yelena punched the thug in the face and he passed out.

“That was Kate, not me!” You yelled.

“What!?” Yelena said in shock.

“I’m sorry. Yeah, it was me not Y/n...” Kate said.

“Y/n...”

You didn't let Yelena finish her sentence. You start to curse in Russian, Yelena taught you how to say the bad words.
