It's a really, really old woman with floor length oily hair and pearly white eyes. She explains to Sanji that the spirits called her here, that someone has tampered with fate and changed it's course. Luffy and his crew were not meant to die here and the spirits are not happy, and the witch tells Sanji that he is going to fix this.

She tells him he must find specific items that belonged to his crew and bring them to her. With these tokens and some powerful magic, the witch will be able the bring back the StrawHats from the dead, alive and whole once more.

The items she requires are Luffy's hat, Zoro's Wado Ichimonji, Nami's compass, Usopp's slingshot, Chopper's journal, Robin's book, Brook's violin, Franky's sunglasses, and Jimbei's comb. All of which have been either taken by the government or stolen by scavengers.

To help find these items the witch explains Sanji must give up his most precious treasure, the use of his hands, and he accepts immediately. As the life ebbs away from his fingers, he begins to feel a ghostly fire ignite inside him. He's WAY stronger and can now hear the whispers of his ghostly crew-mates, who know innately where their treasured items are hidden.

With their guidance, Sanji sets off as soon as he can, Hellbent on getting those items no matter what. And boy is he relentless, chasing every lead and hint like a rabid hound. He will not rest until he brings his crew-mates back, and he will burn anyone who stands in his way.

But there's also the mystery of who killed his crew, and their dark plans for the world are far from over...

One again pulling what I wrote on the discord server and putting it here:

Sora and Ivankov are friends (also Sora is trans) and so Ivankov helps Sora and her children escape Germa.

It's a surprise attack, it was supposed to be a secret quick in and out, but they needed to do STH to stop Judge from immediately going after them, so goodbye laboratories. Sora can barely stay up but she manages to get all her children before Ivankov finds her. They don't take them to Baltigo, they meet up at a meeting up first with Dragon.

However, their disguised ship ends up being attacked by Zeff's pirates, and it happens as canon, till they're rescued by Ivankon and they finally go meet Dragon and he's to suggest windmill village, so they take them there. (Zeff stays with them)

It doesn't take them long to meet Makino, she befriends Sora instantly and decides to help them out, Ivankov has treated the kids to try to undo what Judge did, but it obv won't go away that easily, they're a little lost on how to help them be normal-er but they're trying, and Sanji is flourishing as a cook with Zeff and Makino. Theres a lot of kicking on Zeff's part.

Finally, Makino decides that they should have some friends their age, and who better than Luffy and his brothers? So up the mountain they go, Zeff doesn't go with them but Sora does, she and Sanji baked some pastries as a gift.

ASL and 124 obv clash on sight, they end up brawling until Zeff arrives and kicks them all.

Sora decides to regularly go up the mountain, even tho she doesn't really have the strength to do so, but she insists it'll be good for her and her children, and she manages to become Dandan's bestie much to the other woman's chagrin.

ASL adore Sora, Ace specially practically imprinted like a baby duck, it awakens some jealousy in the quadruplets (that's *their* mom after all)

Their rivalry becomes more and more friendly with time.

When Sora ends up bedridden, ASL and Dadan end up going down the mountain to visit regularly

They're very shaken up by Sabo's "death", Yonji is with Dogra when looking for Sabo, meaning, he gets to see the explosion and be extra traumatised by Sabo's "death", later he'll realise Sabo was his first love

And then it'll turn out that Sabo ain't dead uwu

It's the first time they cry.

Sora ends up dying some time after that due to her illness, but time goes on, Ichiji leaves with Ace, then Niji and Yonji also go on their own, and Reiju waits until after Sanji leaves with Luffy

Ichiji is sticking to Ace's ass when he confronts White Beard and later when he goes to look for Teach, he pulls the "We always done everything together" which is technically incorrect but still works because Ace ain't leaving him behind after that

The Alabasta reunion is very cute, Ichiji internally judges Zoro; Luffy, Sanji and the others think Acechiji are already together (they aren't yet) and Sanji denies having any kind of attraction towards Zoro when Ichiji brings out the topic (also Sanji might had once a little crush on Ace, one which Ichiji noticed and won't forget and which might have stopped him from starting a relationship with Ace until Impeldown and Marineford, when he's forced to accept his feelings and maybe do STH about them. Ofc he's unable to hold back after Marineford, and so is Ace, and they end up together but Ichiji still feels guilty because he doesn't know that Sanji got over that years ago and is busy being together with Zoro (they get together after Thrillerbark) so he tries to hide it until Sanji finds out Ichiji apologizes and Sanji is like "what for? I'm happy for you".)

Ace on the other hand is forced by the confrontation with Teach，when his impulsiveness and no-backing-down thing almost cost him Ichiji, but they're both taken and later separated in Impeldown so he can't do much about it.

Ichiji sees Ace's silhouette forming between Akainu's punch and Luffy, he barely has any energy left, and some of his old wounds may have reopened, but he can't simply stand and watch, somehow, he manages to throw himself in Akainu's way, arms hugging both Luffy and Ace, dragging them together. Akainu's punch burns through his arm and onto Ace's back, thankfully, before Akainu can do more damage, Reiju and Sabo finally catch up to them and intervene and drag them away from Akainu's lava.

Ace passes out, his vivrecard keeps shrinking, Luffy is screaming, their siblings pick them up and run away now that they have cover, Ichiji barely manages to catch Ace's vivrecard.

What if the Vinsmokes were in the Wano Arc?

Go read Part 1 here but TL;DR the Vinsmokes regain their ability to feel emotions and escape Germa with Sanji and the Strawhats.

Mostly headcanons with a side of canon plot.

They’re still modded physically, but now their pain receptors are active so they’re dealing with the ramifications of years of neglecting their body. Ichiji is partially blind from using Valkyrie, Niji has burn marks all over his body, and Yonji has chronic pain in his wrists. It's a struggle, but they feel like they deserve it after all the torment they inflicted.

Ichiji comes across traditional tattoo shops in Wano and decides to get new tattoos on a whim. The ‘1’ tattoo he had before had been his first rebellion against his father and now that he’s free he wants to add more to it. He gets tattoos for all his siblings along his other arm—a pink butterfly for Reiju, a blue lightning bolt for Niji, a green clover for Yonji and a yellow sun for Sanji. It helps to ground him when the Feelings™ get overwhelming and reminds him that he’s not alone in this world. 

The drama in Shokugeki no Sanji with Sanji’s soba stall still happens, only this time he’s backed up by the rest of his siblings who glares at the soba competitors in submission. 

Reiju is first in line when the soba stall officially opens. She’d had to fight her brothers and the Strawhats for it. Robin is a close second but only because Reiju was distracted by her. If you know what I mean ;) 

The handcuffs left marks on Sanji’s wrists. Surprisingly, it’s Niji who asks why Sanji’s hands are so precious to him and Sanji tells them about Baratie and Zeff. There’s something about the sparkle in Sanji’s eyes as he talks that draws them in, the way he speaks so highly and softly about his found family on the East Blue. They wonder, if somewhere down the line, Sanji would speak about them with that same fond tone. 

Niji gifts Sanji a pair of dark brown leather gloves, long enough to cover the marks on his wrist. Sanji wears it to the raid and Niji is quite proud of it and claims he must be Sanji's favorite brother now. Until Ichiji chimes in and says that Sanji’s hairstyle as Stealth Black/Soba Mask is more similar to his and confidently declares himself as Sanji’s favorite brother. Ichiji and Niji argue for hours.  

(It’s actually Yonji who's the favorite. Sanji only has one little brother and he’s got a soft spot for him.) 

Just imagine Law, Basil Hawkins and X Drake watching Soba Mask. Now imagine them seeing a group of brightly-colored siblings cheering on Soba Mask, while they themselves look like Sparking Red, Electric Blue, Wench Green and Poison Pink. It’s a good day to be a North Blue fanboy in Wano. 

AND NOW FOR SOME ANGST!

They witness Sanji awakening his modifications and for a brief moment they’re happy that Sanji caught up to them like he always wanted, until they see the horrified look on Sanji’s face. He looks so afraid to turn out like them, to the point that he’d ask his own crewmate (Zoro) to take him down if he ever ended up like them. They’re not even mad. They’re just sad and guilty that Sanji felt that way. 

There’s a brief lull in the battle and Reiju pulls her brothers aside to tell them about their mother and her sacrifice. She told Sanji that story so he’d remember that his life was worth living and being kind. Now she’s telling the same story to Ichiji, Niji and Yonji so they can remember the same thing. Sora wanted them to live and be good. 

After his fight with Queen, the brothers hug it out. Reiju may or may not have taken a picture.

Right after that, the brothers now hug Reiju! Because she deserves it alright! Years of pretending for Judge, of keeping her brother's in check and dealing with their mother's death, Reiju did her best to be there for all of them. Now she gets to see her little brothers grow up into the good people their mother wanted them to be and she can finally stop pretending. She can be herself again <3

(I love Reiju sm yall but that's just the eldest daughter syndrome talking)

The road to redemption is paved with triumphs and stumbles. It’s just fortunate for them that Sanji has a good sense of direction. 

AND NOW BACK TO FLUFF!

Yonji continues to cement himself as the favorite when he calls Chuji the cutest thing in the world and proceeds to share his snacks with the little guy. Niji and Ichiji never stood a chance. Little brother is strong and is hitting all of Sanji's buttons.

The worst part of regaining emotions though? It’s not the gooey mushy feelings of love, or the cold guilt and shame over their past mistakes, it’s the annoyance they now feel whenever they witness Roronoa Zoro flirt with their oblivious brother. They can’t stand him. Unfortunately, he makes Sanji happy so they’re forced to seethe on the sidelines while Zoro picks another fight/flirting session with Sanji. 

Reiju doesn’t tell them that it’s not just Zoro they have to worry about. Trafalgar Law keeps finding an excuse to check Sanji over for his “health”, a jaguar mink keeps asking him out to smoke together, don’t even get her started on Basil Hawkins and X Drake asking her for her blessing. That’s not even counting Sanji’s other suitors who aren’t in Wano right now. Their baby brother is quite the popular guy.

It’s cold, freezing cold, white sand crunching with its dusting of frost and nowhere to go but up, along this crystal beach.

Night falls and all of you are terrified by the thought of snow, you’re chilled by the frozen clouds that turn the rising moon gray. But your bones all ache, you won’t make it back like this, your vision blurs and your lack of sleep wears on you and you’ll have to go through the forest to make it back to your ship. You and Nami have instinctively huddled together as you walk but both of you know inside that this will do nothing because the night is too cold. 

“…We can’t go on,” Nami murmurs and it’s lost on the wind, “that forest isn’t gonna be safe tonight.”

It seems like Zoro wants to start a fight over this until he sees Chopper barely able to walk anymore and how he’s almost crying and Zoro seems to know not to say anything, they won’t make it through the forest. This isn’t the time to only care about yourself. 

You’re worried about Luffy, who’s wearing an open shirt with no sleeves and his tanned skin is going white. You tell everyone that maybe it’s best to just build a fire and go to sleep and hope the night is forgiving and dawn will bring thaw. 

So now Zoro has a job as he immediately heads to the forest edge to collect wood, and you all find a place in the sand, Sanji unpacking the food he has left so you’ll all be at least warmed by a hot meal tonight. Nami has walked off to look for something so you go to Luffy and sit down beside him, he does look cold and uncomfortable, you feel for him. But you’re all cold so there’s not much to do. 

You and the rest of the crew have your spirits lifted by food and a fire and thank god that wood is dry, right? Thank god Luffy’s smiling again. You sit around and talk and try to turn your coats into blankets. It’s a fight to get close to the fire, one that you lose, although the light still flickers across your body you’ll still be cold tonight. 

You dig a perfect imprint of your body in the sand, a pillow to rest on, you’re good at this because you’ve had nights like this before. Unplanned journeys to the ship that make you all hate each other a little bit and blame each other and think whose decision was it to walk back so late in the day? but it doesn’t matter now. So you try to cover yourself in your jacket which only barely works. You close your eyes. You think of other things and sleep comes to you eventually, at least. 

Luffy is shocked that it doesn’t for him. 

He’s so tired but there’s no way to get comfortable even by the fire, his eyes stay open as he stares at the unrelentingly gray moon. The fire flickers which makes him panicked and he doesn’t know what to do, laying on his back in the sand, arms around his chest as a shield. Because even facing the fire does nothing for his bare, white arms. He needs something more or he won’t be able to sleep.

So he looks around and sees you, you’re resting to his left away from the fire. You look so fast asleep and Luffy wants that too, he gets jealous. He’s mad at you for looking so unfairly relaxed. But maybe he can have that? If he moves closer?

And you’re drawn from sleep in a way that only lets you feel things, there’s something cold against you, enveloping you, your body’s instinct is to jerk away but suddenly it’s locked in place. Are these hands on your back? Is this another heartbeat? 

Your senses awaken and you realize it’s a body against you, a freezing body crushed into you with a deep tightness and desperation. Fingers grip your back and a face is buried into your neck and all you can see is raven black hair that tickles your lips. It’s Luffy. You’re stilled by surprise, not expecting this at all, but you’re compelled by some primal urge to comfort him as if he’s a child so you wrap your arms around him slowly, because you think he’s finally fallen asleep. You can’t let him back to this world of cold. One hand tracing gentle circles between his shoulder blades and the other tucked into his hair, this becomes warmer for both of you, comfort tugs at your heart and the area between you heats up as if you’re in the fire, this exchange of body heat works blissfully well, you put a leg up over his hips so that no part of him is allowed to be cold anymore. He murmurs and squirms a bit in his sleep but he’s happy which is all that matters. You can feel his smile. 

You sleep soon as even your heart grows warm. 

The night passes quickly now and yes, the morning brings thaw. You wake up with wet, sandy hair and it feels strange not having Luffy in your arms now. It felt natural, somehow. 

You look around and you see everyone packing up, or still sleeping, Luffy’s talking to Usopp on the ground who is still evidently half asleep. You want to approach them but something in your heart is telling you not to, a sort of fear of something that should have been normal, so you turn away, you need to pack up to head back to your ship, through the forest. 

And when you head back you catch Luffy looking at you but you stay back, away from him, blocking yourself with crew members and other conversations. You feel uncomfortable and confused and you don’t know why, you just feel like you don’t want to look at him. And when you reach the ship you don’t celebrate beside him, you just find your cabin because for some reason you want to cry.

It’s going to be a long time until the next island because the sea is big. So you have a lot of time to be alone with your thoughts and eventually you come to terms with your feelings for him, the ones that bloomed that night or maybe were just uncovered. This makes you feel terrible because he’s going to reject you, and now you have to live in this wooden prison with your worst fear of a broken heart with nowhere to repair it. Your feelings are so intense, so terrible, you’re in love with him more every day. 

You consider leaving the crew, that’s how bad it is. You can’t stand this. 

And with every day you try to avoid him Luffy only seeks you out more. You sit as far away from his usual seat at the table as you can but he follows you every time and sits nearly on your leg because he has no sense of personal space, which is normally charming but now is pure pain. He tries to talk to you all the time thinking nothing of your cold, one-word replies. You refuse to hug him, that’s what he notices. It makes him visibly sad. You don’t like this at all, but you’re selfish and it would be worse to hug him, it would make the feelings worse. But they get worse anyway. 

You can’t be alone anymore so you decide to tell Nami one night and you end up crying about it, and she laughs at you but seems empathetic at least. She says just tell him, what’s the worst that can happen? And it’s true. Even if he rejects you, he wouldn’t treat you any differently. He’s not normal, there would be no awkwardness from him, he might even forget about it at some point and nothing would change. But still, that doesn’t change your temperament, how you just can’t handle rejection. But Nami shrugs and tells you that you might as well, because she knows you and you’ll do it anyways eventually, may as well get it over with. 

“There’s gotta be a reason he went to sleep with you that night,” Nami says, “it coulda been anyone, it coulda been someone, you know, warmer, no offense.”

“It was just because I was closest.”

“No it wasn’t.”

“I was the first one he saw.”

“Stop being like that!” She crosses her arms. “I know him better than anyone here. I know you have a chance… probably more of one than anyone here. You gotta trust me on this one.”

So you decide you have to.

There’s another freezing night, more clouds, another gray moon. It’s perfect because maybe he’ll want to hug you again, or something, and you can make up for your guilt. It’s after dinner and it’s perfect because you catch him sitting alone and looking at the stars beneath the mast. Everyone else has gone inside but you’re left alone with him, so you walk to him and he smiles. 

“[Name]! Hi!” He gets up but you’re already sitting down so he does too, but this time much closer. He stares at you with sparkly eyes and tilts his head when you don’t say hi back. “Dinner was great, huh? Sanji can cook the best-“

“Luffy,” you murmur, interrupting him. 

“Hm?” 

“…uhm… it’s nice out, isn’t it?” You look up as you try to find the moon and avoid his eyes.

“It’s cold.” Luffy looks at you with confusion.

“Yeah… really cold. Guess you’re right. Hey, uh, I wanted to talk to you about something.”

Luffy looks at you blankly, waiting, but you don’t know what to say next. So you just say whatever comes to mind. 

“Luffy… since the first day I met you, you changed my life. I mean, I had never met anyone like you before. You made me see everything differently, I didn’t know someone like you could even exist, you’re the best thing to possibly happen to me. I…”

He’s staring at you blankly, smiling.

“I love you.”

“Oh.” Luffy’s expression doesn’t change at all. “I love you too!” Because he doesn’t understand. 

“No, I mean like… I love you. I’m…” You steal yourself and force your eyes to meet his, you’re about to feel real pain, you know. “I’m in love with you.”

You don’t know if Luffy knows what you mean. You’re about to spell it out for him when he breaks the silence with an “Ohhh…” and then a more awkward silence, one you don’t dare break. 

Until tears prick your eyes. 

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry… I know you don’t feel the same, I just needed to-“

“Wanna kiss?” Luffy asks simply, tilting his head at you.

“…What?”

“Yeah, let’s kiss!” And he gets up close to you so you can feel his breath on your face. It’s warm and your skin lights on fire. A hand circles to the back of your neck 

“Wait, wait, why? Why are you kissing me?” You murmur to him instinctively closing your eyes.

“Don’t you want to?” His lips hover over yours, he gets even closer, he blinks and his eyelashes flutter over your cheek. “Isn’t this what that means? That you wanna kiss me?”

“…Do you want to?” You’re out of breath.

“Mhm! But I don’t know how. You have to show me,” he says cheerfully, moist breath against your lips with every word.

So you lean forward and cup his face as you kiss him on the mouth, a sensation you never thought you’d get to experience yet dreamed of every night, you keep his lips slightly parted as your hand holds his jawline. You never knew you could feel so relaxed yet so scared, overwhelming feelings from all sides, you can’t breathe again so you pull away a couple inches.

Luffy climbs into your lap to chase your lips. You feel his weight on your legs, you’re caught off guard and have to cling to him for balance, he giggles softly as he kisses your cheek and then returns to your lips, emboldened by knowing how. He sits on you, he’s too heavy but you don’t stop him, instead naturally letting your arms slip over his shoulders, a hand in his hair, the other still on his face. He clutches you so tightly in his arms, like he did that one night, and he’s eager as he attacks your lips with his. 

You decide to blow his mind and slide your tongue against his. He makes a small sound and follows suit with more intensity and force, mouth opening into yours, tongue hitting the roof of your mouth as he begins to drool down your chin. He holds your head in place, kissing with more passion than you thought possible, juicy, loud noises filling the night from just that kiss alone. 

Finally he pulls away but he’s still so close. He wipes his mouth and gazes into your eyes. “That was fun!” he says simply, and you have no idea what to say, you just lean into his arms and let the tears flow down your cheeks. 

He doesn’t understand why you’re crying, or probably what just happened at all, but he holds you tightly. This feels different than his normal hugs. This is more. 

“Do you feel the same way, then?” you whisper, afraid of any answer. 

“Mm, I think so…” he says so quietly, smiling widely, eyes turned down towards you, “I don’t know much about this, but the kiss felt good. I’ve always wanted to try kissing someone, everyone told me it was fun.”

You stay there like that for a few minutes, in each other’s arms, the wind stilling over the water and the ship swaying almost imperceptibly now, the moon still gray with clouds as the night grows deeper. You feel safe. You feel loved. 

“Do you want to kiss again?” you say finally, meeting Luffy’s eyes once more. 

“Yeah.” And he shoves his body into yours, wrestling you to the deck, his lips meeting yours again. It’s familiar now. He whispers into your mouth, “it feels so right… to kiss you…”

ooh i actually have a hungover zoro drabble in the works so i’ll do hcs for this one 🤭

sanji’s a sad drunk. an existential crisis, sit-in-the-corner-stare-at-the-wall drunk. he doesn’t drink for a reason; alcohol brings up everything he hides behind his smile and his snark, dissolves the carefree grin he wears as armour. it’s not fake, per se— he just uses it to hide everything that he doesn’t want others to see.

a little bit of wine at dinner is fine. tipsy is fine— especially if he’s in a lively environment. but when he passes that point he gets all quiet, and it’s so far from his usual personality that it’s concerning.

the first time zoro sees sanji properly drunk he freaks out a little (a lot). sanji’s sluggish, listless, slow to respond even when zoro shakes him and when the cook finally looks away from the ground his eyes are dull.

zoro kneels and holds sanji’s face between his palms so the cook can’t look away, but sanji’s eyes flutter shut even as his head lolls into zoro’s touch. yep. he’s not having fun anymore. the party’s still buzzing around them but zoro hauls his sad, quiet, drunk boyfriend back to the ship; gets some fluids in him, changes him into clean clothes and carries him to bed. he’s just about to turn out the light and leave, but he leans down to press a kiss to sanji’s forehead and sanji’s fingers wrap around his wrist. “zoro.”

“yes?” he replies immediately, because this is the first thing sanji’s said in hours and zoro latches onto it with a rush of relief. the mattress dips as he sits down by sanji’s hip, brushing fine blond hair away from his face. “hey, baby. what’s wrong?”

“dunno. i’m so drunk,” sanji slurs, giggling a little before it dies and leaves hollow silence. his eyes are haunted. “i’m sad, zoro.”

zoro knows. he knows what sanji’s gone through. knows the invisible weights the cook carries on his shoulders. “i know,” he breathes, fingertips lingering by sanji’s temple. he doesn’t know what else to say.

sanji turns his face into zoro’s palm, closing his eyes with a tired sigh. “don’ go.”

and how is zoro supposed to do anything else? so he changes out of his dirty clothes and slides beneath the covers. sanji’s already out cold, but he reaches for zoro in his sleep; his breathing is deep and even, back rising and falling against zoro’s chest. zoro falls asleep to the sound of the cook’s heartbeat.

in the morning, sanji is back to normal; shivery, pale, and puking his guts up, but normal. zoro is rudely awakened by his boyfriend wrenching himself out of bed and hightailing it to the bathroom, and he finds sanji with his head in the toilet bowl and goes to fetch painkillers from the galley.

they don’t talk about it. but sanji has a gleam in his eye as they get ready for the day; an extra layer of softness to the way he kisses zoro before getting started on breakfast, and zoro doesn’t push. sanji will talk about it when he’s ready. he can wait.

now, ZORO. zoro’s a touchy drunk. a huggy huggy feely feely drunk. that man is TOUCH-STARVED. his tolerance is crazy high but if he drinks enough he gets all clingy; a little grouchy, but also draping himself over every one of his crewmates he can find.

he’s got enough sweet summer mead in him to make him stumble when he stands; his coordination is shot, and he groans when he topples into someone tall, blond and handsome. he tells the man as much and sanji chuckles, hauling him upright and getting them both back to the boat.

“you’re pretty,” zoro mumbles, face-planting into the bed before rolling over as his eyes widen. “s’nji?”

“mhm.” sanji’s trying not to laugh. he hides it behind his hand before zoro’s tumbling off the bed, magically able to walk (mostly) straight again as he grabs sanji and kidnaps him to cuddle and sanji almost screeches bcs wtf?? he hasn’t showered, he’s in his crusty dusty musty street clothes, hell he’s still wearing his SHOES

but he realises real quick that he’s fighting a losing battle. zoro’s like a goddamn octopus. he resigns himself to falling asleep while being hugged like a bolster, still in his suit and half-squashed under zoro’s bulk, but he’d be lying if he said it was unpleasant.

and of course the next morning the swordsman has a splitting hangover. he spends the day with his pillow over his head, only poking his face out to sip at the broth sanji brings him through a straw.

as you can see both of these idiots have HORRIBLE hangovers when they push their limits too far.

they both don’t like others seeing them drunk; sanji doesn’t want to burden his nakama with his past (even though he knows, realistically, that he isn’t a burden) and zoro has a tendency to run his mouth. his filter just goes poof. it’s highly entertaining but he always feels like putting his head through a wall when he remembers how emotional he gets 😭

one time sanji wakes up face-down on a bar table, feeling like his head’s being cracked open, next to the girl he’d spent the night crying and being miserable with over margaritas and french 75s. she pats him sympathetically on the shoulder as he stumbles out, face buried in her arm, and he smooths a commiserating hand over her hair and tucks a wad of bills under her elbow to help her make sure she gets home safe. they end up being den den buddies and call each other occasionally to spill tea and gossip.

food and a cold shower helps sanji; bread and cheese is his go-to, whereas zoro just likes to hide in his bedding and die for the rest of the day. god bless his liver capacity.

I'm currently thinking about a modern AU, where everyone is aged up about 9-10 years. And Kaya is a medical resident at the hospital Law works at, and they're friendly enough; and Kaya posts a flier on a bulletin board in one of the lounges, for a drag show, for one of her fiancé's best friends, she explains, the best friend being the headliner Chouquette. Law has no intention of going, initially, but he gets dragged into it by the surgical techs he always has to work with, Penguin and Shachi, and current surgery fellow, Bepo.

(I am thinking that Minks will stay Minks in this AU, bc I never see that in modern AUs. Same with Fishmen, etc. And Devil Fruit powers are instead powers that people are born with, but still have to figure out and "awaken.")

The group goes to the show, and the first couple acts are fine; but then it's finally time for Chouquette, and it's clear most of the crowd is here for her. She clearly has some pretty big fans up front, hooting and hollering as she sings and tells jokes.

When Chouquette is finished with her performance, Law sees Kaya at the bar with some other people, and she's talking to a really cute-looking boy who has his eyes all over Law. Law doesn't look away fast enough, and Kaya catches his eye and waves him over, first introducing him to the cute boy, Luffy, one of her friends through her fiancé, Usopp, who's also sitting nearby. Luffy quickly introduces Law to everyone else, including Zoro, who wraps his arm around Chouquette when she joins them at the bar; and Chouquette as "Sanji, who's a girl when she's Chouquette, but a boy a lot of the rest of the time" (genderfluid Sanji expressing this via drag...and in the bedroom sometimes 🤭💕).

Law gets unwittingly inducted into this friend group, and with Luffy very interested in him romantically.

I don't have much worked out for this AU, but Luffy is a preschool teacher. And zosan, namivivi, and usokaya are all engaged and lowkey in a competition to see who gets married first. And Brook is still a skeleman and Jinbei a fishman, and Chopper a reindeer. <3 Just a chaotic but fun found family modern fic with some more canon elements dashed in.

My Headcanons for the Strawhats: (Monster Trio)

Luffy:

- Low-key has REALLY bad abandonment issues (see him telling Ace he keeps following him into a dangerous forest bc it makes him feel less alone, Sabo's 'death', Saboady, Marineford, etc)

- Autistic

- When he relaxes/sleeps his body will become super slack an his arms an legs will spread out all over

- HATES the cold and his body hurts when it's too cold out (rubber breaks easily when frozen)

- Will drink but is superrrrrrr picky about booze

- Has very green eyes an no one can convince me otherwise

- Love language is Physical touch (He bites people, affectionately)

- (Based on my Headcanons that Luffy is Brazilian and Robin is Peruvian) His first language is Portuguese an if he forgets a word he'll ask Robin to translate

- Favorite color is red (any shade)

- Likes collecting shiny rocks/pretty sea shells

- Is the most emotionally intelligent person on the crew an has really good observation skills but takes most things at face value/doesn't question them bc he can't understand why someone wouldn't want to show/say exactly what they mean

- If he cries or gets embarrassed enough to blush he'll cover his face with his hat

- Likes when Nami/anyone paints his nails but can never sit still long enough to get them done nicely

- Ambidextrous

- Knows a lot about bugs and can rattle off facts about them for hours

- Eats so much bc his stomach stretches no matter how much he eats so he never really feels 'full'

- Extremely touch starved (if someone plays with his hair he is passing out IMMEDIATELY)

- Secretly loves that (other then Robin) Chopper always goes to him first for everything

- Really loves forests, if they land on an island with one he's most likely heading there first

- Unofficial Official first mate of the strawhats

- When it comes to keeping the crew safe he trusts Robin & Sanji the most (other then the Captain ofc) because he knows they won't hesitate to kill someone they're fighting

- Nami is like a sister to him

- Is actually REALLY good at math an confused tf out the crew when they found out (is now in charge of keeping track of the amount of necessities on the ship or how much they need for a certain amount of time)

- Will forget how long he's been going when training an won't realize til someone stops him

- Gets worried/nervous anytime he watches someone walking down stairs

- Knows a shit ton of knife/sword tricks (can absolutely swallow a sword)

- Doesn't like showers bc he hates water on his face

- Is willing to follow Luffy's orders without question (Post time skip, Pre time skip -specifically before thriller bark- Zoro would still question Luffy)

- One of the few Straw hats that hasn't dated anyone (Sanji had some flings w/ regulars at Baratie, Usopp w/ Kaya, Nami had a few flings here an there, Franky had been with a few people back on water 7 and Brook had been with a few people back when he was alive)

- His favorite color is Sage green/Gold

- Taught Chopper some sword fighting techniques (Brook also joined in an taught Chopper some of his moves)

- Loves taking naps with Chopper (Chopper is low-key his favorite person on the crew)

- He an Robin have little competitions to one up eachother with gifts or things for Chopper bc they both wanna be his favorite >:)

Sanji:

- Loves the ocean/thinks it's the most beautiful part of nature ever

- Either is a Queer Cis guy OR a Queer Trans woman<3

- Ace was absolutely his gay awakening but he thought it was a 'fluke' til he stayed on the momorio island and accepted himself

- Sees it as a HUGE compliment when anyone on the crew gains weight bc it reaffirms he's doing his job well :)

- Loves loves loves all animals and won't let anyone hurt them (including rodents/other "gross" animals)

- Has insectophobia/arachnophobia and OCD

- HATES having anything covering to much of his face/head bc of the mask Judge had him in

- Pulls on his hair when frustrated/angry/overwhelmed/etc.

- French is his first language

- Knows how to figure skate, do ballet and learned gymnastics

- His love language is Words of affirmation

- Writes letters to Zeff at least once a week (after the events at WCI he started addressing Zeff as Dad in his letters)

- Is secretly writing his own cookbook

- Has anisocoria, effects his right eye (anisocoria can easily be confused with heterochromia. It gives the appearance of two different eye colors, but the variation only relates to pupil size — which can cause one eye to look darker than the other — not the actual eye color.)

- Sanji an Usopp are actually really close (both their moms passed bc of sickness both had shit dads plus soba mask + sogeking friendship is superior)

- Sees Zoro as a brother (their dynamic is like the eldest brothers who try to compete over everything)

- Sees Robin as a mother figure but low-key feels guilty about it

- Told Nami everything about his past after WCI and they're really close now

- Sees Luffy a bit as an obnoxious younger brother

- When it gets really hot he'll let Chopper sit inside/in front of the freezer for a little bit
