Spider-Man stays when Deadpool dies
In fights with the Avengers, more often than not, Deadpool ends up dying
The Avengers clear out after they've won and leave Deadpool, saying that he'll be fine and on his feet again soon, but Spider-Man stays
He sits by the body and watches him heal
He makes sure that Deadpool is alright
Sometimes he holds his hand to feel the warmth return or rests a hand over his neck or wrist and waits for his pulse to come back

Little angst with Jason <3
I kinda HC that Jason when he’s more calm doesn’t have as much glowing green in his he’s as when he’s aggravated. More of a dark muddy green
So I want him to have these dark green eyes and downturned eyelashes. (I myself have these lashes so it almost looks like I don’t have eyelashes)
So! when he begins to integrate back into the family, and after a while the other kids wants to introduce him to their teams, he doesn’t understand why they still flinch away from him.
He was doing better right? He wasn’t doing the whole evil crime lord stuff, he was just helping the alley and its people out more.
So why?
It begins with Tim’s friends, a little dinner out in town to keep a calm atmosphere outside of the masks.
But Jason doesn’t understand why they don’t like making eye contact with him… they’re all sort of trying to look at him, but don’t meet his eyes.
They’re fine doing it when he has the domino mask on, with objectively more intimidating white lenses, so why not when it’s just his eyes?
He concludes that it most likely because they’re younger and don’t have as much experience with intimidating and haven’t entirely forgotten his crime lord days.
But when it also happens with Dick’s friends.
Kori doesn’t seem to have a problem with him, but Wally flinches every time eyes glance over to him. Why
They’re older and have seen far worse, so why
He gets angry and makes an excuse to leave, trying his hardest not to comment on the fact that he heard an audible sigh of relief when he turned his back.
Again, he tries to brush it off, but he goes over the edge when even Hal freaking Jorden scrunches his nose at him, and looks away.
He slams his hands on the table, stands up so abruptly that the chair behinds him clatters to the floor.
Bruce stands up and follows him out as Jason throws every curse word out into the room as he goes to leave.
Once in the zeta tube on the way back to the cave he finally lets his complains rain.
Jason: “What the hell is so wrong with my face that people seem to not even be able to meet my eyes??”
Jason: “they’re the strongest fucking heroes we have and they can’t even meet my fucking eyes?!”
Bruce sighs as he lets Jason get everything off his chest before turning himself towards him.
Bruce: “Lad, do you remember when you first came to the mansion?” Jason squints his eyes at him but nods nonetheless.
Bruce: “Because I also remember a conversation you had with Alfred about a week or two after you came there.” Even more confused Jason just continues his silent stares.
Bruce again sighs and relaxes his shoulders before continuing.
“You had asked Alfred why it always seemed like I was mad at you, always angry. You said it was a certain look in my eyes that had just a slight anger to it so you were always afraid that I was angry at you”
Jason only squinted harder, but also let his mind wander on how to connect everything.
“I was a lot taller than you, so I thought it was because I was always aiming my eyes down, so I changed that, but it was the same.”
Bruce caught Jason’s attention by nudging him slightly. They really did stand shoulder to shoulder now.
“But it ended up just being that I was used to never being able to show weakness, the feeling having created a certain need to always look prepared, always look quizzical of everything. But when I turned that same look toward my comrades, they thought it was because I perceived them as a threat.”
Jason remembered all of his time alone, every instance where he couldn’t show of scared he was, how out of his depth he was. Because that was showing weakness.
“It takes time to stop our instincts from looking at everything as a potential threat, especially after so many years of being on edge. But I’m sure they will get used to it. They did get used to me after all”
When Bruce finished, they both seemed to realize that it had already been some time since the zeta had returned them home.
Bruce patted him on the shoulder, making the first move towards the stairs up into the manor.
“I’m sure you find it unusual, but that’s also because the people you normally relax around don’t even notice it anymore, they know themselves that they can trust that you only want the best for them.”
Later, when Jason returned to the crime alley with a full belly of Alfred’s food and drained from the friendly sparring matches that always seemed to follow after.
Jason walked into the office ready to hit the hay, before getting swarmed by his goons.
“Hey boss! We heard you met the justice league, are they really as strong as they say??”
“I heard wonder woman is always there, was she even prettier in real life??”
“Is their base really located in space as the theories are saying??”
Bombarded with questions Jason felt bewildered as he both tried to listen and think of answers, stopping just short when he noticed.
They’re all looking into his eyes.
They’re not afraid of him.
“they know themselves that they can trust that you only want the best for them”
——
Hope you like this little head cannon, I myself have dark brown eyes, and a resting bitch face, so whenever I meet someone my friends introduce, my friend will then circle back to me and tell me that the new person thought I was really angry or thought they were annoying, or just in general that I was scary. Even if I’m actively trying my best to get along with them.
Used to bring me a lot of anxiety, but I know that the people around me who I don’t want to be afraid of me, know me enough to see through it.
It makes sense to me that the other kids’ teams would be uneasy around him, and along with eyes that are naturally inquisitive, combined with a very piercing gaze. That it could be interpreted like he was angry when he was just looking and listening.

New fanfic alert!
Make room
Summary:
Tim abruptly sat up, shaking his head aggressively. They didn’t hate him, they probably just wanted to let him sleep in. If he went into the kitchen they’d all seamlessly welcome him into their midst. Right?
But they didn’t need him anymore, did they? He was just a replacement. Damian made it clear he was the inferior Robin, and god, he wasn’t even Robin anymore. What was he still doing here? Bruce had his actual, real son back. Dick had his little brother back. Damian had made it very clear he didn’t want Tim here.
Or
Tim's parents traumatized him pretty well and the batfam accidentally triggers a trauma response

What the heart truly wants - Oneshot
Revenants return to death when their final wishes are fulfilled. Jason says his wish is being avenged: Batman killing the Joker for him. It’s not.
The Joker cackles as he turns on the screen with a flourish to show Red Hood tied up tight in a dark room. The only light is the red countdown of the bomb sitting beside him.
“Isn’t this nice Batman? A good callback to the last time I caught one of your birds! A lovely walk down memory lane!”
Dick can barely think. Jason. The Joker has Jason trapped again.

So I'm really enjoying writing angst at the moment and I couldn't resist when this idea came to me. Please read the tags on the work.

A Winning Bet
If you have siblings, this question gets brought up once or twice. That question being ‘Who is the favourite child?’
One day, Dick, Jason and Tim decided to bet on who Bruce's favourite child. The winner will be decided based on the person who can get Bruce out of his beloved Gotham city.
Also available on Ao3
#Tim and Bruce Dynamic #family Fluff
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have siblings, this question gets brought up once or twice. That question being ‘Who is the favourite child?’
Tonight, Dick,Jason and Tim all crash piled into a single safehouse. After showering and dressing into something fresh, they were ready for sleep when Dick asked the question.
Jason, who was on the only couch, looked down at Dick, who was sleeping on the floor with Tim beside him. “You seriously want to pick my brain right now, Goldie? While I'm high on painkillers?” Jason groaned as his head fell back to the arm rest. Jason was taking the couch because he has two more additional holes made by bullets. Fortunately it’s not difficult to fish out the bullets.
Dick flipped onto his back and supported himself with his elbow, “No, no, this is a rare chance we get without the emotional ones being involved.” Tim rolled to his side and stated, “Damian?”
Jason laughed out loud at Dick being so over Damian and winced in regret, “Can’t believe I hear that come out from you, Goldie.”
“Shush, all of you, the Damian talk will be another time,” Dick shut down the topic, he’s now completely sat up. “Who do you think is the favourite?”
Jason just looked at Dick who was leaning on the couch giving both of them the knowing eyebrows. Jason just groaned, “I don’t know, maybe Damian? Let me rest, Dickface.”
“No, no.” Dick tugged at Jason’s sweatpants, “I think it’s you."
Jason and Dick both looked at Tim awaiting for his answer. Tim quirked his brow and also sat up, “Let’s be honest guys, none of us are his favourite. Because we will never be number 1. Gotham is number 1.”
A dozy Jason and Dick stared at him for a while, and nodded after a moment or two.
Jason just laid back down, arm resting on his eyes, “Yup, old man’s favourite is Gotham.”
“Wait, hold on,” Dick tugged Jason’s sweatpants again, which the younger swapped away without even opening an eye.
“Then who would be his second favourite?”
Jason just groaned out Dick’s name while Tim answered after careful consideration, “His contingencies?”
Dick rolled his eyes at Tim’s answer, “Come on, Timmy, you are ruining the fun! This is a chance we might not get another time!”
“You want fun?” Jason grunted as he maneuvered himself into a somewhat upright position, “Let's make a bet.”
Dick and Tim both looked at Jason with intrigue, “What kind of bet?”
Both of them focus on words of Jason’s which are slurring somewhat, “Whoever gets the old man to get out of Gotham will be named the favourite. And I bet my gun privileges that none of you will succeed.” Jason laid back down and went out with a laugh.
Dick looked excited while Tim looked perplexed.
“It’s only the three of us, okay, Jason?” Dick gently patted Jason’s thigh, not that the younger responded. He turned to Tim, “I will give up my cereal if Bruce even has a favourite– that is.”
“Why would you even ask the question if you don’t think Bruce has a favourite?” Tim asked, confused at what his older brother is up to.
Dick shrugged, “It’s just the question you kinda ask if you have siblings.” He laid back down and slipped under the blanket, “What about you?”
Tim copied his older brother and stared at the ceiling for a moment, “I will give up my video game privileges for a month.”
He heard Dick snickering from beside him, “You sure, Timmy? You seem pretty adamant to keep us from topping your mario kart score.”
Tim just hummed and rest his eyes, “I’m sure.”
The next day, the three of them split up and went their ways with the bet in their mind.
Tim immediately went back to his nest and started packing. He had already made up his mind on how to win the bet.
Who ever got Bruce to get out of Gotham is the favourite?
Tim had already won.
Getting Bruce out of Gotham only needed two important factors. Time and Trust.
Trust which all three of them had but Time? Time is tricky. Because once is a coincidence and twice is a pattern. Tim just had to make sure he’s first before Bruce realizes something is going on. Luckily, today, time is on his side.
Tim dialed Bruce's number, “Hey, Bruce?”
Bruce just got off the plane from his business trip from WE and was on his way to the baggage claim when a call came in. It was Tim, thinking how odd of his son to call him straight away after landing, Bruce picked up in the second ring. “Tim?”
“Hey, Bruce.” Bruce could hear fabric moving around on the other side. “Have you arrived?”
“I’m at the baggage claim, are you picking me up?” He asked as he picked up his luggage from the conveyor belt.
“No, actually.” Tim paused for a moment and Bruce paused in his movement too, listening carefully to what his son might say, “If I asked you to come with me no question asked, will you?”
Bruce moved out of the way from the busy hall to the wall, he paused for a moment before answering, “Okay.”
Bruce could practically hear Tim beaming from the other side of the line, “Cool! I actually booked us a 2 week vacation trip to the Bahamas. I also hired a private jet to fly us there so if you head to the jet hanger, I’ll meet you there in an hour!”
An hour passed, and Bruce saw Tim’s messy head of hair before his small body, the boy was dragging his luggage to him. “Bruce, glad to see you are back!”
Bruce really liked to question, contrary to his promise, what is happening?
And like reading his mind, Tim told him, “You never got proper time to relax after coming back from the time stream right? Neither have I, so I thought we could use some get away time you know?”
Bruce didn’t look like he fully bought the lie. Tim just shrugged, it’s not a lie. It’s just not the full truth, “You trust me or not, B?”
Bruce looked into Tim’s eyes searching for any panic or hidden details. They had a stare down for some moment until Bruce just gave, “I trust you, Tim.”
“Okay!” Tim handed out his palm, “Phone, give it to me?”
Bruce just complied with confusion, before he could ask Tim just tsked at him, “No question asked remember?”
Tim just put Bruce's phone in airplane mode and gave it back, “Two weeks, don’t use your phone, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Good! Let us board!” Tim said not before putting his phone also in airplane mode.
Not that it will stop his family from finding them but Tim had full confidence in his plan that no one in the family will know.
Back at Gotham, while Dick and Jason were waiting for Bruce’s business trip to be over, Tim and Bruce were having the time of their lives in the Bahamas.
Two week passed
Bruce came to Tim’s who’s sunbathing. Tim’s wearing sunglasses as he laid on the beach chair overlooking the ocean and sipping his coconut in style of neon yellow silky shorts.
“Tim?” Bruce came over with his phone. Tim glanced at the older man, and saw Bruce looking down confused at his phone.
“Have you told the others we are going to the Bahamas?”
“Why?”
Bruce just showed his screen to Tim, “Why am I bombarded with 6 missed calls and 9 messages from Dick, 4 missed calls from Damian with 20 messages and surprisingly 3 missed calls from Jason?”
The phone tinged just as he finished, Tim looked down to see Damian was the sender, “That makes 21 messages.”
Tim lay back down throwing his hands behind his head, “Well, I didn’t tell them we are going to the Bahamas. And the reason you are getting missed calls and messages is because, “ Tim picked up his phone from beside him and unlocked it, “I sent this photo to the group chat.”
It was a selfie of Bruce snorkelling with Tim with the fishes. Send 1 hr ago.
Bruce frowned, “I didn’t get that picture in the group chat.”
Tim rolled his eyes behind the shade, “Of course you didn’t, it’s in a different group chat. Not the one you’re in.”
“Anyway,” Tim quirked his brow and looked up to Bruce , tilting his sunglasses, “Aren’t you curious?”
Bruce sat down on another beach chair, “It has something to do with Gotham.”
Tim remained lying down and just tilted his head to get a glance at Bruce, “Close. It was ‘Who your favourite child is’ ”
Bruce was totally unprepared for that, “What? I don’t-”
“Please, you do.” Tim cut him off, “It’s either Jason or Damian. The favourite child is always the traumatized one or the youngest one.”
Before Bruce could inject, Tim continued on, “Anyway, that’s not what this bet was about. We all know that even before your children Gotham came first, so we made a bet.” Tim sat up and turned to Bruce.
Bruce furrowed his brow, “A bet?”
Tim nodded with a cheesy grin, “A bet whichever the three of us got you to get out of Gotham wins.”
“So, you won?”
Tim hummed happily, “It’s a winning bet.”
He continued to explain when Bruce gave him an ‘explain’ look, “Well, in order to get you to stay out of Gotham, we need two things. Time and Trust. Trust which all of us have, but time? That’s a little difficult. Because for you, once would be a coincidence and twice a pattern and it would raise suspicion.”
Tim turned to face where Bruce was sitting, “But luckily, timing was on my side. Your patrol routes are already handled from the WE business trip and it wouldn’t draw any suspicion if you were delayed another week or so. And I have allocated time sensitive cases to your reliable Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. I made sure to make them think I’m going to be staying at Mount Justice. All in all, I would call it a success.”
Tim paused for a moment, “I think Babs figured it out in one week mark though, because she only sent a single text ‘sneaky’.”
Bruce just sat in silence taking it all in, “I see…”
Tim just watched the older man sat there, in his shorts, contemplating on how to face the on coming problem.
“So, by right of this bet you are the favourite child?” Bruce questioned.
Tim looked away and shrugged, “By the bet, yes.” He reached for his phone and swiped to the left, “But it doesn’t matter tho.”
He moved to sit beside Bruce and aimed his phone to get both of them in the frame, “Because at the end of the day, even if I turn out not to be your favourite, you are my favourite dad .”

Tim managed to capture the exact moment where a tear escaped from Bruce’s shocked face.
Tim smiled as he viewed the picture until he realised the tear, he turned to Bruce in panic, “B-Bruce!” He never thought Bruce would cry!
“Um-!”
His favourite father hugged him tight, Tim snapped out of his shock, slowly relaxed and hugged back his dad without another word.
They had been so wrapped up in knowing who the favourite child is that he kinda forgot that Bruce wasn’t their only dad. Bruce is also one of their choices.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extras:
Bruce and Tim had arrived back to Gotham and they were waiting for their luggage at the baggage claim. Tim spotted his and Bruce’s bags and kept an eye on it in case someone decided to snatch theirs.
“Tim.” Bruce came up from behind him, Tim just hummed– not taking his eye off their luggage.
Tim felt Bruce’s weight shifted onto him and hugged him with one arm while the other one held out his phone to their face.
Bruce looked at the camera with a smile and Tim did the same thinking it as of nothing.
“You are my most brilliant and beloved son, too, Tim.”

Bruce looked at the camera screen confused with Tim’s face frozen with shock, eyes widened.
Bruce let out an embarrassed chuckle, “I thought I would capture a more emotional expression.”
“...” Tim turned and burrowed himself into Bruce’s chest.
“T-Tim? Buddy?”
Extra scene 2:
After their sob party, Tim looked back at the luggage claim belt just in time to see someone snatching their luggage.
“Luggage Thief!” and body tackled the man to the ground, cheeks still stained with tears.

Tim and Bruce getting into an argument bcs Tim demands to be independent and NOT get involved in the mess of being a legal part of the Wayne family, and Bruce being final on the fact that Tim is FIFTEEN and needs a legal guardian. out of spite Tim asks the person he thinks Bruce would approve of as a guardian the least to sign some guardian papers.
Tim: you don’t have to do anything parental i just REALLY wanna make Batman mad and i get the sense that our wishes align on that specific aspect so if you could just sign here for shits and giggles-
Red Hood:
Red Hood, rapidly changing his plans on how to deal with getting revenge on Bruce because his replacement is actually kinda hysterical: if we’re doing this we’re fucking doing it right, kid
Bruce shows up to Tim’s next parent teacher conference because hey just because he’s being given the silent treatment over this whole adoption thing doesn’t mean he’s going to slack off on his parental duties, only to freeze in the doorway because Tim Drake-Hood is stood there with his shiny new CRIME LORD LEGAL GUARDIAN giving him the most SHIT EATING GRIN POSSIBLE, and he almost has a panic attack on the spot.
Jason’s really getting into this whole caretaker thing. he’s doing school runs, delivering home cooked meals to Drake manor, helping with homework, this was his fucking CALLING. Tim is having the time of his life because him and Hood actually get along really well, but then he realises two weeks in that it turns out Hood is actually Jason fucking Todd, and he has to deal with the existential crisis of causing the very thing he was trying to stop because he is now technically a legal child of the Wayne family.
out of embarrassment for the fact that he failed and amazement at the fact that he’s bonding so well with Bruce’s dead kid and his own childhood hero (who is now a badass crime lord that lets him call for advice about english assignments while organising drug runs and picks up batburger on his way home from weapon shipments, seriously what more could Tim want in a parent), Tim somehow becomes even more invested in hiding Red Hood’s identity than Jason is.
Bruce has just been in a constant state of panic for the past three months and he doesn’t know what to fucking do. Dick was concerned for Tim up until he demanded to have dinner with him and his new ‘guardian’ to vet the guy and Jason, who stopped caring about his identity when he realised how much being a working dad agrees with his mental health and is only actively keeping his identity from Bruce for Tim’s pride’s sake, takes off his helmet to eat and Dick stares at him frozen for fifteen minutes across the table before finally pointing at the two and saying ‘you know what? he didn’t even tell me Jason was dead until after the funeral. whatever the fuck’s going on here? he has it coming. proceed.’

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

Quietly losing my mind over the fact that Elon Musk has straight up orchestrated a coup of our executive branch and like....I don't even know what, if any, system we have in place to fix this. Like... He's just taken control of the money and locked out the actual appointed officials. What the fuck.

Thank you for the explanations! It explains a lot about the 80s/90s Shazam and the latest movies. I'd love to read more issues with him to Get how they messed him up
@ace-is-undead It’s nice to meet a new fan! I hope you make lots of friendships on here❤️
For anyone who’s curious, this person asked me:
as someone taking interest in Captain Marvel because of the movies (never heard of him before :/), I'd love to know why you think the movies ruined Billy's image! Bear in mind, I recently started reading some comics about Shazam
I knew I’d be making a hella long comment, so I thought, hell, let’s make a post!
Now, as a preface, I worded what I said a little too strong. The 2019 movie isn’t the worst piece of Shazam/CM media ever. There are definitely parts of it that I liked. The humor was 10/10 for me, and I did like the costumes. There are things about the story I don’t like, but for the purpose of all of us not sitting here for the next two hours, I will stick with just Billy’s personality.
This post will probably have stated everything more eloquently than me lol:
Many Golden Age heroes were created/used to combat war trauma. To the kids who read those comics, it made them feel safe. To read about these people with fantastical abilities, who regularly fought Nazis, supervillains, and entire armies.
Captain Marvel was a little different, though. It wasn’t an adult who was doing the protecting. Or, it wasn’t JUST an adult. It was also Billy Batson. A kid, like all of the other kids reading these comics. And it was different from kid heroes like Robin because he was the hero. The main hero.
Before the New52 reboot, basically from the 40s-2000s, but I could be wrong, Billy was a homeless kid. His uncle Ebenezer threw him out after his parents died and stole his inheritance. He got a job at Whiz Radio and became a reporter, giving him enough money to get his own apartment.
In one continuity, his friend Dudley becomes his guardian. In the most famous interpretation, the Power of Shazam series from the 90s, he is, after some time, adopted by his twin sister Mary’s adoptive family the Bromfields, and Nora Bromfield happens to be their mother’s cousin.
The important thing to grasp from this is that Billy was independent. Responsible. And when he got his powers, he was also responsible with them. He has a few fumbles, but he was always able to keep them and do good with them.
His Captain Marvel persona was also like that. He led the Squadron of Justice, a team of Fawcett heroes. There are also instances of heroes like Batman and Superman praising him as a trustworthy hero, even knowing about his identity.
It’s also important to note that, while in some times the Captain character is childish, he is never stupid. He makes mistakes, is a little goofy, but he never does anything outright cringe worthy.
A prime example of a good interpretation is the JLU episode Clash. The whole JL really likes him. For some reason my tumblr is acting up today so I can’t put any videos without it not allowing me to type afterwords. But the series is on Netflix. Like holy heck, Bruce says they all like him because he’s sunny. Bruce!
There’s also comic examples, like Action comics #768, which is in the POV of Superman. I’m just gonna put everything Clark thinks as text.
“And then it happens.”
“Armed with the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Atlas, and the focus of Achilles, a teenage boy in the body of a man defends human kind to a frog goddess.”
“I can’t imagine anything more ludicrous. I can’t imagine anything more moving.”
“With unmatched eloquence, he explains humanity’s needs, our weaknesses, and our relationships with nature to a being as old as time.”
“She retorts. It’s not the act itself that enrages her, but the fact that her people are taken for granted.”
“Bred, butchered, wasted. Without appreciation for the contribution to the lifecycle.”
“He emphasizes. It is a horrible thing to be underestimated, unappreciated, forgotten.”
“His sincerity is a living thing. They speak for an eternity until Heqt has been heard and appeased.”
“Then, the war is over. Diplomacy and reason succeeds, where force…where I… simply would have failed.”
This is another example:
I mean the whole Captain Marvel-focused panel is Clark and Bruce arguing with Diana that Cap will be a great asset to the League, and how Bruce wants him on because he’s just GOOD. They all knew he was a kid, and they didn’t care because they trusted him that much!
Many 80s and 90s comic showed Cap as this beacon of hope, very akin to his Fawcett era, which is why so many of us liked it. He was still goofy at times, but it never overshadowed how much of a hero he was. Hell, the Fawcett heroes never gave a damn about him being a kid. All they saw was a person doing good, and they automatically began working with him.
He would get into friendly tussles with Superman, and him and Diana hugged one time, and she confided in him about how she might die. I can’t find the issue, but it’s drawn by Alex Ross, so that may narrow it for you.
Cap was genuinely respected. There are even some comics where Billy’s is interacting with the League as himself and they treat him like any other friend!
And Billy was chosen not because he was a last resort, but because the Wizard saw so much good and purity in him. He still made mistakes, but he was never not worthy.
Compare that with, not just the Shazam movies, but the DCAMU movies(JL War & Throne of Atlantis), and you get a whole other monster. I mean, he is just dumb, awful. He’s good when he’s Billy, a little snarky while also being a good person and comforting Cyborg(before taking his jersey, lol). But when he’s Shazam(his name in the DCAMU) every single thing that came out of his mouth was just… not it. If gets even worse in Throne of Atlantis. Literally almost everyone on the team hates him. The only reason Cyborg doesn’t is because he knows his identity.
In the 2019 Shazam movies, hes very similar. They made him a lot more jaded, which just ruined his character for me because Billy is the type of person who would rather die than talk down to other kids going through what he did. I’m cool with the rebelliousness, it’s just that that I’m worried about. It’s even worse in the 2013 shazam comic series because he’s actually way meaner there. Like jeez, why do you want me to hate this boy so much DC??
And as his Shazam self, he’s like ten times more goofy and irresponsible, which is such a backwards take it’s insane.
The character of Captain Marvel was beloved by so many children because it showed that they could be just like those other heroes. They could fight the monsters and get the job done, and no one would look down on them. They would be taken seriously. Seeing this kid bond with and interact with and be trusted by these seasoned adult heroes was EVERYTHING.
I may not have a grown up in the 40s/50s, but I did get introduced to him in JLU, and then Young Justice, and then obscure media, and then comics. And through that journey, the take I loved infinitely more was of Captain Marvel being this guy who made mistakes, but always tried to do the right thing.
Making him out to be this…immature dude who never knew what he was doing just stomped on all of us. It also really irks me because that is how some people will be introduced to him. As opposed to who he really is. And they won’t be interested because the face value is all they’ll see.
Heck, some people think he’s one of the weakest DC characters when he ranks in the top ten. He’s the Champion of Magic and guardian of the Rock of Eternity for Pete’s sake! He’s fought and almost won against the Specter himself! (Day of Vengeance comic series, it’s so good!)
It’s unclear why his character has been so diminished. Some people, including me, think DC is trying to lower his…everything in general so he can never measure up to the Man of Steel, which is so petty it’s ridiculous.
Hopefully he’ll get something in James Gunn’s new DCU, a movie or a show. Because I feel like there’s a chance to reintroduce the true Captain/Shazam to people.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my petty-fueled rant😅. Sorry for the angry spews. Anyway, there are some good reading lists for Shazam/Cap on tumblr. I really advise you to check those out. Though there are also a few articles on google listing all of his appearances, so if you wanna get detailed then those are where you should go.
We also have a Captain Marvel fan club! Go over to @im-not-buying-it-ether and ask for an invite for more content.
I hope you have a fulfilling journey!

Captain Marvel Compilations
I think when it comes to press, Marvel would be a clip farm, or at least have a bunch of compilation videos about him.
Captain Marvel dropping lore bombs pt.1
Marvel: “I’m not saying the Christian God isn’t real. Me and Jesus are tight! I’ve had to help the big man upstairs wrangle souls back to heaven for God’s sake!”
*cut*
Marvel: *lounging on one of the couches in the watchtower, talking to Flash* “You know I helped build the Tower of Babel, right? Like no joke we finished, and I was talking to one of my champion buddies, and I was like ‘hey, wanna get food after this?’ And she responded to me in a language I don’t even think exists anymore.”
8 minutes and 47 seconds of the Big Red Cheese tweaking out
Marvel: *Speechless, trying to find words, at a villain* “You- You- You do realize I can give you a lobotomy and literally no one here will try to stop me, right? Like- *Points to the middle of his own forehead.* “-you do realize I can shove my finger through your skull, scrape away at your frontal lobe, and make sure you survive… right?”
*cut*
Marvel: *Smiling* “Like that’s the thing with Black Adam, on one hand I want to bash his skull in with an aluminum baseball bat and watch it explode like a fucking egg getting smashed on pavement, excuse my language, but on the other hand his reactions to half the things I say are hilarious.”
6 minutes and 39 seconds of Captain Marvel reacting to women
Marvel: *Saves some lady from a burning building. Lady tries to kiss him and he dodges the kiss. He slightly cocks his head to the side and looks her up and down with a blank, yet somehow at the same time, disgusted expression before flying off.*
*cut*
Marvel: *Gets flashed by college student. He grabs the fabric between two fingers as if he was handling trash and pulls it back down before flying off.*
When one of the JL members showed him the compilations, he was horrified, especially at the tweaking out video.

STOP DOING THIS IN INJURY FICS!!
Bleeding:
Blood is warm. if blood is cold, you’re really fucking feverish or the person is dead. it’s only sticky after it coagulates.
It smells! like iron, obv, but very metallic. heavy blood loss has a really potent smell, someone will notice.
Unless in a state of shock or fight-flight mode, a character will know they’re bleeding. stop with the ‘i didn’t even feel it’ yeah you did. drowsiness, confusion, pale complexion, nausea, clumsiness, and memory loss are symptoms to include.
blood flow ebbs. sometimes it’s really gushin’, other times it’s a trickle. could be the same wound at different points.
it’s slow. use this to your advantage! more sad writer times hehehe.
Stab wounds:
I have been mildly impaled with rebar on an occasion, so let me explain from experience. being stabbed is bizarre af. your body is soft. you can squish it, feel it jiggle when you move. whatever just stabbed you? not jiggly. it feels stiff and numb after the pain fades. often, stab wounds lead to nerve damage. hands, arms, feet, neck, all have more motor nerve clusters than the torso. fingers may go numb or useless if a tendon is nicked.
also, bleeding takes FOREVER to stop, as mentioned above.
if the wound has an exit wound, like a bullet clean through or a spear through the whole limb, DONT REMOVE THE OBJECT. character will die. leave it, bandage around it. could be a good opportunity for some touchy touchy :)
whump writers - good opportunity for caretaker angst and fluff w/ trying to manhandle whumpee into a good position to access both sites
Concussion:
despite the amnesia and confusion, people ain’t that articulate. even if they’re mumbling about how much they love (person) - if that’s ur trope - or a secret, it’s gonna make no sense. garbled nonsense, no full sentences, just a coupla words here and there.
if the concussion is mild, they’re gonna feel fine. until….bam! out like a light. kinda funny to witness, but also a good time for some caretaking fluff.
Fever:
you die at 110F. no 'oh no his fever is 120F!! ahhh!“ no his fever is 0F because he’s fucking dead. you lose consciousness around 103, sometimes less if it’s a child. brain damage occurs at over 104.
ACTUAL SYMPTOMS:
sluggishness
seizures (severe)
inability to speak clearly
feeling chilly/shivering
nausea
pain
delirium
symptoms increase as fever rises. slow build that secret sickness! feverish people can be irritable, maybe a bit of sass followed by some hurt/comfort. never hurt anybody.
ALSO about fevers - they absolutely can cause hallucinations. Sometimes these alter memory and future memory processing. they're scary shit guys.
fevers are a big deal! bad shit can happen! milk that till its dry (chill out) and get some good hurt/comfort whumpee shit.
keep writing u sadistic nerds xox love you
ALSO I FORGOT LEMME ADD ON:
YOU DIE AT 85F
sorry I forgot. at that point for a sustained period of time you're too cold to survive.
