Ronan Alexander was chosen by three rings at once after a mass homicide of the green lantern corps, they collided on arrival near Ronan causing them to shatter and as the energy washed over him he became fused with the lantern energy and could create constructs at will. He spent a few months after the incident trying to hone his abilities, but it wasn’t until Hal Jordan appeared one day, disturbed by the mass of energy coming from Ronan, that he began to fully understand his responsibility… or his power.
