You know how Fleur lost the second task because she was attacked by Grindillows? What if someone had sent a swarm of them after Harry and Fleur saw so she went and fought them off. Harry was never reached by the Grindillows because of her, but she was too badly injured to go on in the task.

Hogwarts is a Small School
The funniest thing about wizarding Britain is that everyone went to school with each other. And Hogwarts is small, so it’s not even like ‘I saw you once in the hallways’ its like you are at least a friend of a friend of a friend, and if we’re too old/young to have attended at the same time, we definitely know some people who did. Like literally everyone knows each other, and they should use this more often.
Prosecutor: Did you or did you not kill your wife?
Defendant: Of course not! I love her!
Prosecutor: You also loved that Ravenclaw girl back in fifth year but we all know how that ended.
Jury: *does in fact know How That Ended
And it baffles me that Harry doesn’t even know the names of some of his classmates until fifth year. My boy, there are only forty kids in your year and you have at least three classes with each of them. Why the fuck are you asking for Susan Bones’s name when she’s been sitting in front of you in Charms for the last four and a half years???
I also want to acknowledge why the actual hell they always full-name someone when they’re name-dropping them in conversation. What comes to mind is when Lily refers to Mary Macdonald, who the fandom has decided is actually one of her closest friends, AS ‘Mary Macdonald’ when talking to Snape.
Now, Mary is a common name, so the most likely reason is that there’s someone else in their year who is also names Mary. But many people from wizarding families have much rarer names, like Cormac McLaggen, and I’m pretty sure there’s not that many other people named fucking Cormac walking around.
My guess is that it has something to do with how much people refer to their classmates just by their last name. What if you called someone ‘Seamus’ when the person you were talking to had only ever heard Seamus Finnigan be referred to as ‘Finnigan’ or ‘Mr. Finnigan’ or ‘That Gryffindor in Potter’s Year Who Likes To Blow Stuff Up’.
Not to mention siblings. You’re not calling all of the Weasley’s ‘Weasley’ are you? And just ‘George’ isn’t exactly an exotic name, either.

I’m just imagining Remus Lupin watching Draco Malfoy force his friends to help him climb into a tree just so he could get Harry Potter’s attention and then getting a flashback to the time James Potter used him as a footstool to climb into that same tree so that he could get Lily Evan’s attention.
Remus fucking knew.

Does anyone else have that one fanfiction that they’re dying to to write but it’s like, mega long and basically a whole universe, and then you’ve got head-cannons to go with that fanfiction and like fanfiction to go with that fanfiction an back-stories for every character and you get frikin’ feels about that universe and it’d be the most coolest thing if you could just be bothered to frikin’ write it.

Anti-Polyam attitudes that center around “It’s just cheating, but the other person knows about it” SO clearly come from people who have no understanding of why cheating is bad.
Cheating isn’t bad because you had sex with someone else. Cheating is bad because you violated the terms of your relationship. Cheating is bad because you violated your partner’s trust. That’s why things other than sex can be cheating- it’s why there’s emotional cheating.
Cheating is bad because it is violating your partner’s trust. It is bad because you and your partner(s) decided on something, trusted one another, and you said “fuck them and their trust”. THAT is why it is bad.
Polyamory is not cheating. In polyamory, everyone knows about everything and everyone. Everyone consents. There is communication. If not everyone is aware and consents, then it’s fucking cheating. There’s a damn difference.
There’s also the “Polyamory is bad because you’re having sex with someone who isn’t your one true love” which… I could go on all day about how fucking stupid that is, but same principle.
In honor of Pride month- stop shitting on polyamory and polyam people. And stop telling us that we’re all cheaters, because if you say that, you’re coming from a place of totally misunderstanding why cheating is bad. And, spoilers, cheating isn’t bad because of the sex.

One advantage of not really having a strong sense of gender identity is that you’re very [shrug emoji] about how people gender you. Sometimes people call me by she/her pronouns and sometimes they go with he/him pronouns and on the internet people often default to they/them, and neither option is entirely right but also, fuck if I know what would be right, and I don’t particularly care. Therefore I’m perfectly happy to outsource my gender identity to the people around me who actually need to figure out which box to put me in. I don’t need to talk about myself in third person, so really my pronouns sound like a you problem.

As someone who quit ballet only a bit over a year ago and has been considering all the reasons why going back would be impossible, because of the short months I haven’t been bending and breaking my body, would set my ability back multiple levels so I would probably end up in a class with dancers a few years younger then me... AND is dating someone who has been fighting with their mother to let them start testosterone soon....
I think that this whole post is very important, and not just to me.
“transition poses some ethical questions. Such as, from what age should you be allowed to irreversibly change your body.“
This of course completely ignores the fact that puberty makes irreversible changes to your body. But let us just rephrase the question: “from what age do you gain bodily autonomy?” Now it gets very easy to answer: From the moment you’re fucking born.

under the red hood
Jason: Bruce, I’ve forgiven you for not saving me, but why haven’t you killed the Joker?
Bruce: oh god is that what this is about
Bruce: Jason, there’s nothing I’d like more in the world than to kill the Joker, but unfortunately, I can’t
Jason: what, because of your principles?
Bruce: no, because whoever kills the Joker becomes the Joker
Jason: ……excuse me
Joker, tied to a chair: it’s true!! I got to be this way by killing the last guy :D
Jason: you what
Joker: oh hey I know how to explain it!!
Joker: you ever see that movie The Santa Clause? it’s just like that :D
Jason:
Jason, frightened: what

You don’t understand, I NEED this
I just remembered that Steph used to sit on her roof when she was little and her home life was particularly bad and wish that Batman would come save her. We know in canon that didn’t happen but I’m losing my mind over if it did. Like Bruce has already adopted Dick, just adopted Jason and is trying not to adopt Tim and now here’s ANOTHER child who’s giving him a Father’s Day card she made in class because she hates her bad dad so she REFUSED to make it for him and can she call Batman Batdad now
Okay I absolutely love earlier adoption AUs for any or all of the kids. Maybe not Dick so much because he actually had a nice family, but everyone else. Good dad Bruce with the little baby batkids is amazing and I love the idea of Steph coming into the family earlier and getting adopted (which I feel like she would be in this case)

I just relaized that in this AU kara landed on earth at a normal time and actually helped raise clark like she was supposed to
"Bruce, stop fighting your friends. Their parents are gonna question our parenting skills."
Kara the next time she see Jason: "how are there six of you raising this child and not one of you know how to get the kid to stop biting people"
Jason: "have you seen the child we're trying to raise????"
