🧜🏿‍♀️🧜🏾‍♀️🧜🏽‍♀️Merfriends, its been 5+years since I acknowledged my true self #surfthefriendlyseas 🤩Ive experienced tons of ups and downs from a disastrous 1st tail unboxing to my 1st mermaid video w @verobeachmermaid @mermaid_jules @themermaidelle in FL days later to joining an entertainment company while selling the everlasting aquarium™️ for @peacemuralfoundationmiami to the video audition I sent to @worldmermaidchampionship where I met mermama @mermaidjessalee and surfing in Morocco to filming music videos for @badbunnypr @direalshaggy @theofficialsting @kanyewest and others and joining a Miami dance company, joining @mermaid_at_any_age to making art for @ncstategreggmuseum with award winning documentary filmmaker @rexpixfilm to being in an award winning indie film to shooting with @renaldas.ramoska and starting a mermaid conference and more things I can’t even think of thanks to finding @missmomo_tan purchasing her creation so I could swim all over the world. What a wild ride. I’m now living in a new city with unique nice people, and endless opportunities. Mermaid magic is part of my DNA since birth yet I couldn’t come to terms with it until I went diving in the Philippines to get @paditv certified. My teacher, she just couldn’t get me out of the water! I’ve had the privilege of diving in Turkey, Canary Islands, Bahamas, Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield beach Florida Diving revealed a whole new world to me, one where I’ve had the privilege to meet @scarletviewmedia and the great @andremusgrove ,people who I hope to meet again. I was blessed with the chance to create life and I desperately wanted to make it a perfect experience. My child asked me through dreams to ensure that he would be born in a special place in a special way and I spent the last 5 months of my life doing everything I could to make that happen. I sacrificed everything I had left for him. We arrived in Dubai and explored so many things for the first time such as the @expo2020dubai and the @dibshow and @atmospheredubai @thedubaimall @hurghada.egypt_ @experienceoman @jbr_official @menaclimateprotectors @aimcongress @unwomenarabic and so much more. My life in the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region has been inspired by his presence in me. I don’t think I would’ve ever thought of trying to establish myself here if it wasn’t for my son. He taught me so much in so little time and I am proud of being his mommy. I’m oFISHally a 29 year old mermaid 🧜🏽‍♀️ still just swimming across the globe 🌍 this birthday is a very special one as I’ve spent it in a brand new place ( one of my New Years resolutions was to visit a region I’ve never been to) getting familiar with foreign languages, customs, foods, and foliage among other things but surprisingly I am discovering that things aren’t really that different here 🥰 I have a new family of friends already who I adore and respect for who they are and how they live. I don’t know how I got so blessed but I’m taking it all in as much as humanly possible. Thank you so much for making my world view a little wider and helping me safely breathe a bit deeper, spirit! I never imagined that I would enjoy the Middle East as much as I’ve been enjoying it so far but when I first visited Doha with @qatarairways in 2019, I was quite shocked to witness how liberal it was compared to what I was expecting……. Now that I flew with @emirates I’m completely obsessed tbh……. I didn’t like how European the staff was however the planes and the service and the cleanliness was unmatched by any American Airline I’ve ever used in my life. That’s how I felt when I first flew with Qatar also……. Now I get it…… I can see clearly now…… I am blessed to have my world view turned upside down again. I like the honesty, the diversity, the spiritual fervor and the resourcefulness of the people here……… but most importantly, I love their happiness because I see how easily that translates into kindness… I feel so grateful. I feel so blessed. I can’t wait to pass blessings on to others in my life and even to passersby…… I am lucky enough to spread hope to anyone that needs it because my cup runneth over abundantly and frequently….. #watersafetywednesday Water Safety is an important aspect of #mermaidatanyage so I attended the @natural_disaster_expo to see what the first line of defense is as far as local government preparedness for #drowningprevention during water based natural disasters. I learned a lot of things about the technologies that are currently available however I realize the best thing for individuals who don’t know how to swim is to #learntoswim as sea level rise and other man made causes to natural disaster increases were not fully addressed by a lot of these industries and products #swimlessons many companies and agencies underestimated individual education and awareness for how to even survive long enough to be rescued by first responders……. People like @bytamekaaquatica will still be the first line of defense for individuals who find themselves caught in storms that dump massive amounts of water into their communities, roadways, and into their very homes….. #swimminglessons at the end of the day, yes the first responders are coming because they are trained, ready, and willing to save the people in their community but WE are still going to have to make sure that there are survivors left to reach…. Do not underestimate the need for individual preparation for the storms that are on the horizon. We must be ready. And we can’t start to get ready tomorrow.
