Who like her fought for scraps of meaning in world that they were not built to live in

Heard the screams of her parents and those to which her life had belonged to

And I looked to the sky knowing she was now free to roam it untethered

When people come up to me to tell me how good of a man my father is it makes me think of how easily the were fooled just like I was fooled for the first five years of my life before I woke up and saw the damage he wrought.

How easily my mother was fooled for her to have married him.

“Victor Krum.” the Hall is booming with cheers from fans and peers alike, Hermione is suspiciously red in the face under her dark skin. Grinning madly as he catches her eye an she flushes harder, he turns back just in time to see the Goblet spit out the next slip of paper.

“Fleur Delacour.” People are screaming as she gets up from her seat next to… blimey, Draco Malfoy of all people who seems to be clapping harder than what would be considered 'polite' and Harry thinks he might be hallucinating but he's pretty sure that's a genuine smile at the corners of his mouth. Huh, odd.

“Cassius Warrington”

The Great Hall is silent for a moment before the Slytherin table erupts in cheers. There’s a scatter of hesitant applause from a few Ravenclaws. The large gaggle of Beauxbaton and Dumstrang students surrounding the snakes slowly shake their confusion and start to clap politely.  

That's when the yelling starts.

The Gryffindor table is silent and stony faced. Turning to Dean with a sick expression, “What was that you said about having a Slytherin Champion.” He thinks that this ceremony couldn’t get any worse, until the Goblet lights up again spewing out an additional slip. Snatching the paper Dumbledore reads the name a few times before finally saying the name aloud. His name.

“HARRY POTTER.”
