And with Bailey's ref done, the Festive Follies are now complete!
Once again, little ideas and info on her below! If interested! If not then ignore it's all OK with me :^]
__
Bailey works alongside her Dad at their family confectionery shop. She's a kind and thoughtful lady but represses her desires for wanting to do more outside of her current job and routine, fearing she would be disrupting the family business and disappointing her father, since the rest of her siblings had long moved away. She claims she's happily settled into this routine with her Dad, but deep down she wants more.
As luck would have it, she gets the chance to experience some adventure when she meets a royal Nutcracker guard named Carol who was left behind by her regiment while travelling through Bailey's Town; to which she happily jumps on the opportunity to help escort Carol back to the castle before Christmas.
She claims to be doing this out of the goodness of her heart, but in reality she was just desperate for any opportunity to leave town on an adventure. Though she takes some sweets to hand deliver to the Queen as per her Father's request.
With this newfound freedom, Bailey begins to let her more cheeky and reckless side out. Which often gets her and Carol into more trouble than it's worth along the way!

I was doing some digging and I just found this amazing album of prop photos from Good Omens! From what I can gather the site is a community of prop and costume makers, but I didn’t see much context for where they came from than that. I’m so surprised I haven’t seen these on Tumblr yet. They’re high quality and would make really good references for anyone who needs them. I included a selection here but I’d highly recommend checking out the album for more!

Just a little PSA for all our mental health (and chronic pain*) spoonies out there! A lot of doctors neglect to mention this little side effect, which means a lot of us are suffering extra from the heat without knowing why.
*Many psych meds are used to treat chronic pain as well, if you didn’t know!

Disabled is such a neutral descriptive word.
You are dis-abled. You are not able to do some of the things you would normally be biologically expected to.
Yet you tell someone who needs glasses to see they are disabled and they may be are shocked, or recoil, or deny it. Why? They are not able to see without aid. Disability aid.
Being disabled is treated like a sentence... and that's the biggest part of the problem: the idea that you are made less because of it. Less than full human. Because you can't do ___.
The solution to ableism isn't for me to "stop calling myself disabled", it's for everyone to stop treating "disabled" as a bad word

Honestly, I am pretty frustrated by the "haha why would anyone hate ace people" responses to Rowling's tweet.
Don't get me wrong, the support is nice. But if you want to be an ally, you have to do so on our terms, not yours. And that means actually engaging with the aspec community, not just posting positivity every now and again. And what those responses highlight to me is what I've known for a while; you guys only support aspec people when it's easy and convenient.
It's easy to support aspec people when it's J.K. Rowling being awful again. It's easy to support us when it's just reblogging an "aspec people are queer" post.
But what about when we are talking about amatonormativity and the relationship hierarchy? When we are discussing the enforcement of compulsory sexuality? When we are pushing for greater awareness and support for aspec identities that are not asexuality or aromanticism? When we are criticizing terminology that you use but harms us? Because I can tell you right now, I rarely see allo people engage with those posts.
Why do people hate asexuality (or any other aspec identity)? Because it challenges the societal norms that benefit them. And that is uncomfortable and scary. So they turn to hate and oppression in order to assure that the changes we push by just openly existing never happen.
That means that to be a good aspec ally, you can't just make a positivity post every now and again, and you can't just laugh about how stupid aphobes are. You have to openly challenge the societal norms that harm us, even if they benefit you. Including but not limited to:
The idea that romantic and sexual attraction is the default state of being (amatonormativity)
The idea that a romantic, sexual relationship completes a person
People in marriages receiving special privileges and benefits
The idea that platonic, familial, etc. attraction are default states of being
The idea that not feeling some form of attraction must be compensated for through another form of attraction
The idea that love (not just romantic) is inherently morally good, while not feeling love is inherently a moral failing
The idea that any one form of relationship is inherently more important or deeper than any other (relationship hierarchy)
The idea that any one thing makes someone human
The idea that not having sex is shameful or infantile
The idea that having sex without romantic love is callous
Gendered divides of sexual and romantic attraction
Other aspec people please feel free to add on/challenge any of this. Allo (not aspec) people please feel free to ask questions.

As an autistic woman, can I just say something?
The current head of the U.S. Department of Health is an ableist piece of shit with the dead brainworms fully activated. He’s pushing for an autism registry.
If you’ve ever read literally any book about WWII, you’d know this is a terrible idea.
Trans people are not the enemy, men eho exploit the movement to fule there fetish are, instead of actually helping people with body dysphoria. People with body dysphoria are mentally ill, this isn’t a slur, it’s a medical fact. That doesn’t make them wrong or bad. What is wrong is the entire system built around "treating" that illness in a way that is exploitative, profit-driven, and predatory.
Mental illness still isn’t accepted, no matter how progressive people pretend to be. I see radfems throwing around “retard” and “moron” like candy, and as someone who’s been called those things my whole life....yeah, I’m judging you.
I'm all for mental health advocacy, real advocacy, not the TikTok version of coddling it,and I’ve always thought gender norms were total bullshit. That’s part of why I can’t stand how the so-called progressive movement is now doubling down on them with glitter and new pronouns. Like, cool, so now I’m still “wrong,” just in a different outfit?
As an autistic person, I get why they are scared.
We don’t live in a world that protects the mentally ill. We live in one that finds new, prettier ways to exploit us.
So yeah, screening trans people for autism right now? That’s not healthcare. That’s surveillance. That’s labeling. That’s a step toward control. Trans people aren’t “crazy” for being afraid of what that could mean they’re paying attention.
But.
I don’t like how this conversation, again, has become all about them.
Autistic people are the ones being put under the microscope. We’re the ones at risk of being tracked, categorized, and institutionalized. But the second this becomes news, the focus shifts: not how will this hurt autistic people, but how will this hurt trans people?
It’s exhausting. The trans movement right now feels like me me me me, even when they’re standing on the backs of other marginalized groups to shout. It’s not solidarity when you only show up for yourself.
I want real mental health advocacy. I want to talk about how autism is misunderstood, pathologized, and weaponized. I want protection not exploitation and I’m tired of being used as a footnote in someone else’s narrative.
