MEDICAL TW: Hello followers, I know my pinned points out that I'm low activity already, but I'm going to emphasize it for May 2024 ( & June more than likely ). I'll be in & out of the hospital very frequently beginning the 7th, so I may not have my devices on me, or I'll genuinely be too stressed / miserable / etc. to respond to asks & threads, plot or draw, you know the drill. Hopefully, I should be alright by the 17th - 20th, but the outlook isn't that good. If I have to extend my hiatus through June, I will post an update here. I do have an important notice regarding June, but it's a bit sensitive for medical, so it's under a read more:

For those not in the know, I'm undergoing treatment for a multitude of conditions, predominantly PTSD & Epilepsy, among other uncontrollable symptoms such as morbid hallucinations & irate behavior / extreme mood swings. Which, after briefly losing health insurance, worsened. I'm currently in the middle of trying different cocktails of medications + treatment to see what sticks, which has resulted in symptoms I don't even want to get into right now. The point is that I'm a very sick individual, & I'm sick to the point that I'm under the process of applying for disability, as I'm not safe to work in public or drive right now. Changing medications & going to the hospital for treatment take a serious toll on my emotional, mental & physical well-being, so depending upon how my mind / body reacts come June, I will post a second hiatus if need be.

- Your friend had recently broken up with your boyfriend and Oikawa wanted to come tell you about the rumours he’d been spreading

“No f/n, you were right to dump him he can’t expect you to stay with him when he’s never making dates and only hanging out with you when he’s drunk. That’s not a relationship” you were getting fired up just thinking about how much of a dick your friends ex was. “I know y/n, i just...i feel like i’m gonna regret it i mean i still love him, i know i shouldn’t but..” she sighed and shrugged and you held her hands comfortingly, you knew this was hard but having to build her up after every fight they had was breaking your heart and you were glad she finally managed to cut ties with him. “I know, you’ll be okay, i’ll be here the whole time m’kay? so will tooru and i’m sure he knows someone if you want to go out and have fun to get over him..” you playfully nudged her and she giggled, you were happy to finally see her seem happy. “I dont need rebound sex y/n” she rolled her eyes and you laughed together before your boyfriend, Oikawa approached you both seeming uncharacteristically nervous.

You both looked up at him expectantly “hi tooru, something wrong baby?” he sat down next to you and smiled sweetly at f/n “uh, you broke up with ex/n recently right?” your eyes widened and you slapped Toorus arm “it’s okay y/n, i figured you’d tell him anyway, i don’t mind..and yeah i did, why?” you glared at Oikawa and he laughed awkwardly “well, he’s behind the gym, i was taking a break from practise and heard your name so i listened and he was saying..things...” you looked over at your friend who was growing more anxious by the minute. You knew she’d have a million thoughts running through her head, regretting the break up. You frowned before turning to Oikawa “what things Tooru?” you were growing more frustrated by the second, thinking about that asshole. “His friend asked him about the break up and he said he broke it off cause you wanted more than sex..” Oikawa offered an apologetic smile before rubbing her shoulder “he WHAT?”.

While Oikawa was trying to comfort your friend you were seeing white, blind with rage as you stormed off ignoring your boyfriend calling you. “We should follow her, something bad is going to happen..” Tooru dragged your friend behind you as you continued on your path to the gym. That asshole couldn’t handle being dumped so he lied? what a fucking joke. You were muttering under your breath, effectively clearing the people in front of you away as the avoided your furious aura.

“Oi ex/n!” he turned around with a smug grin on his face and his friends whistled and laughed, clealry entertained “Y/n, what do i owe the p-“ he was cut off by the loud bang of your fist connecting with the bridge of his nose. He stumbled back, holding his nose as a few drops of blood hit the floor, you shook your hand, adrenaline coursing through you “you bitch!” he took a few steps towards you but you were pulled back into a firm chest “Uh, we’ll be leaving now. Don’t bother telling anyone or i’ll let the whole school know about what really happened, including your tiny dick.” Oikawa smiled widely at them before dragging you away.

When you were sitting back with your friend and Oikawa she hugged you tightly “y/n, i fucking love you” you both laughed while Oikawa stood there staring at you “ahem?” he cleared his throat. “Hi baby...?” he sighed before grabbing your hand and pressing a soft kiss against each knuckle “your adrenaline is going to go away and this is going to hurt, i’m getting you ice..f/n, make sure she stays put.” He began to stand up but you grabbed his wrist, wincing slightly “i’m sorry for making you worry Tooru” you leant down pressing a kiss to your forehead “don’t be sorry, i love how much you care about your friends, i just don’t want you hurt, i’m sure he’s worse off though, you threw a good punch i can’t wait to tell Iwa!” you both laughed before he pressed another quick kiss to your forehead, jogging off towards the gym again to grab an ice pack.

“Ugh you guys are so in love it’s gross” you friend pretended to throw up and you laughed at her “yeah” you smiled cheesily and she smiled too, she was happy you had someone so perfect for you.

Iwaizumi

You were having a night out with your best friend since she was feeling down. Her boyfriend had been distant lately so you offered to take her to a club Iwaizumi and you had gone to once to blow off some steam.

You both dressed up took some pictures before heading out. You were happy to distract your friend, she was already feeling better and excited to go out with you. You texted Iwaizumi letting him know you’ll probably crash at f/n’s house and sending him some pictures. He told you he’d stay up and wait for you to text him you got in safe anyway.

When you arrived you bought some drinks for you both and she sculled it down before moving to the dance floor, you watched amused from the bar. You felt someone staring holes into your side and so you turned to meet a very guilty face, with his arm wrapped around some girl. She was looking up at him confused “baby what’s wrong?” you scoffed audibly before making your way over to them. If your friend noticed your absence you didn’t see.

“You know, i wish i could say i was surprised...” he rolled his eyes, guilty expression vanishing as he tightened his arm around the girls waist. “So you’re the girlfriend?” you turned to look down at the girl as she scowled at you and you almost laughed. “Oh so she knows, and no sweetie i’m not.” “I am.” you turned around shocked to see your friend on the verge of tears behind you, looking heartbroken. You felt your stomach drop, you turned around to look at her now ex, wanting the Earth to open up and swallow him whole for being the reason your friend felt like this.

You don’t know what happened but suddenly your palm was red and stinging, raised into the air and he was holding his jaw, fury in his eyes. F/n grabbed your arm, quickly running out towards to the exit. “Y/n, you’re such a badass what the fuck was that?” she laughed loudly, it sounded nice despite her ruined make up and red eyes. “Are you okay?” you asked, taking out your phone to text Iwaizumi, her laugh died down and she nodded, tearing up again before hugging you. You rubbed her back soothingly.

Y/n: Hi baby, soo night out has been cut short, can you come pick us up? f/n is staying the night also hurry there’s an angry blonde girl trying to find us

Iwa: explain when i pick you up. i love you.

Y/n: mhm i love you too <3

A few minutes passed and f/n had stopped crying and was sniffling, sitting in the floor deleting photos of her ex. You heard obnoxious clicking of heels and looked to see her ex and his new girlfriend walking towards you both. You cursed under your breath, alerting f/n to the two new presences. You saw Iwaizumi’a car approaching and when he saw your panicked face he sped up, parking right in front of f/n. He guided f/n to the back seat, letting her lie down, guessing by the sight of her ex boyfriend holding another girls hand what had happened. He could see the way they looked like they were trying to kill you with their glares and came to stand beside you, “can we help you?” he wrapped a protective arm around your middle, smiling sarcastically. “Yeah, control your bitch she fucking slapped me.” he chuckled dryly and Iwaizumis grip tightened, “y/n get in the car.” you gripped his arm “zumi don’t, he isn’t worth it he’s pathetic” he looked down to see your pleading gaze and he sighed, kissing your forehead before turning and walking you both back to the car. “Hey-“ “Shut up man, you lost a good one.” Your friends ex walked off angrily and you both got in the car.

After a few minutes of driving, Iwaizumi rested his hand on your thigh, you could tell he was tense so you rubbed his hand “relax baby, i’m okay..” he relaxed his shoulders and loosened his other hand on the steering wheel. “I know but he’s an ass and i don’t trust him” he was stroking your thigh trying to calm himself down. You looked behind to see f/n “hi, you feeling okay ?” she nodded, smiling at you. “Iwaizumi i just thought you should know she did hit him pretty hard” you both giggled and iwaizumi squeezed your leg, letting out a loud laugh as he brought your hand up to his lips to kiss your knuckles.

You spent the rest of the night cuddled up on the couch with your best friend while Iwaizumi made you both food and put on some movies. Iwaizumi watched you both from the kitchen, admiring you taking care of your friend with a love sick grin on his face.

Matsukawa

You were at your best friends apartment waiting for your food to arrive, you were having dinner with her and sleeping over since she just broke up with her boyfriend. They’d been together for ages, he even introduced you to your boyfriend Issei, eventually he got toxic and started preventing your friend from hanging out with you guys.

The door bell rang and you sprung up to go answer it, “i got it, stay here but pause the movie.” you opened the door revealing your boyfriend looking down at you. “Hi baby” you chuckled, surprised as he pulled you into a hug, kissing the top of your head before moving to the lounge room where f/n was.

“Hi f/n, i’m sorry for coming over unannounced but have you spoken to ex/n recently?” she sent you a worried glance and you sat down next to her “Uh you guys aren’t together anymore are you?” you shook your head no and he paused. “Look, i’m really sorry f/n, i was on snapchat and he posted a...photo of you on his private..” she pulled out her phone hastily swiping through, she was stressed as a million thoughts clouded her mind “he removed me...” you looked over to issei who took out his phone.

You held his phone and opened the story, it was f/n naked on a bed with a caption “new whore on the market”, the next was a video of him and some friends at a park, one you recognised. F/n snatched the phone from your hand and started shaking, you gripped the pillow beside you, growing enraged at how far he went and how stressed your friend was. You stood up and walked out of the apartment, Issei followed behind you questioning you. You ignored him and got into his car, driving to the park. Issei stood in the driveway dumbfounded “f/n, y/n’s gone crazy again where’s your car?” f/n was crying now, she came out and pointed to her car parked across the street and Issei guided her to it, rubbing her back to try and calm her down.

You pulled up in front of the park and stepped out of the car, one of his friends snickered “damn she didn’t bring f/n with her, i mean they’re not bad either” they started to laugh and you ignored the growing pit in your stomach, approaching ex/n. The smug look on his face only antagonised your further as he leaned back against the fence. You wanted to wipe that look off his face so you brought your balled fist up and connected it with his jaw. He fell back further into the fence and as held your fist in your hand. His friends started to approach you, you didn’t hear a car door slamming over your own shriek when a firm arm gripped your upper arm. You winced as the grip tightening before an arm encased your middle “issei?” the man loosened his grip on your arm as Issei towered over him. “Let go.” his face looked calm, mocking almost but his voice was dripping with venom and the man let go. “Great.” Issei lifted you up and hauled you over his shoulder putting you in the car.

“Issei i’m sorry i know i shouldn’t have hit him but he was such an ass and f/n didn’t deserve that..” he furrowed his brows as he drove “i’m not mad” you looked at him “really?” he threw his head back and let out a laugh “babe are you serious? you were so badass, if you didn’t hit him i would’ve anyway” you smiled up at him and giggled “are you okay though?” you nodded and he glanced over at you.

After going back to f/n’s house, Issei iced your hand and pressed a few kisses to your upper arm where a small bruise was forming. “I love you, so much baby, i’ll see you later okay? Take care f/n, i’m really sorry, it’s been taken down” she nodded and offered him a smile and you hugged him in return “i love you too, i’ll text you okay?” he smirked at you before kissing you quickly.

F/n and you binged some shitty rom coms and did some face masks while trying to relax after a stressful day.

Hanamaki (sorry his is kind of short)

You were walking around with Makki after your date night, going to get ice cream. “Makki its this way, we’ve been here before!” you attempted to drag your boyfriend by the arm “babe it’s this way, i think i would know” he rolled his eyes “Makki i stg, you’ll see you’re wrong” you stuck out your tongue and he kissed it quickly, you scrunched up your face and wiped it “you’re gross” you both laughed until you heard someone yelling.

You turned to see your best friend looking down at the ground while her boyfriend yelled at her, throwing his arms up and growing more and more frustrated. “Y/n, isn’t that f/n, what the fuck?” Makki started approaching the couple and you quickly followed behind. “Makki wait, he’s really angry what’re you going to do?” you held onto his sleeve as he sped up.

F/n, Matsukawa, you and Makki had been friends for years, attending middle school together and high school. When you and Makki got together you remained friends but f/n quickly grew away from you when she got a boyfriend, barely returning texts, avoiding you at school. You didn’t understand why but you had a feeling it wasn’t malicious, you never liked her boyfriend anyway, so you weren’t mad at her. In fact, despite the circumstances, you were happy to see her, you’d missed her. Makki also missed her, the dynamic the four of you had, he hated her boyfriend.

“Makki? Y/n?” f/n looked up to see you both approaching her angrily. “Oi, can you not pay attention to me for once jesus this is why you were single for so long” your friend cast her gaze back down and you felt a rage bubble up inside you. You’d spent many nights with Makki wondering why f/n hadn’t been speaking with you much, assuming the worst about her boyfriend while Makki joked about him, assuring you he’d never act that way and here he was confirming your theories. You could see Makki tense up before he grabbed his collar “What the fuck do you think you’re doing talking to her like that” he turned to look at Makki and when he did you swung your hand, slapping him. His head whipped back as Makki loosened his grip, turning to you with a massive grin “damn, nice one babe” before he shoved him to the ground grabbing f/n and running away.

You both laughed loudly, dragging f/n away, after a few minutes of running you stopped. “Babe, i told you the ice cream shop was the other way” you whined before you heard sniffling beside you, “f/n...are you okay, i’m sorry i didn’t help you sooner, i wasn’t sure and i’m sorry he was treating you so badly and i didn’t know..” you looked down, grabbing her hands, she smiled at you tearily before pulling you into a hug. Makki joined in, hugging you both as she whispered into your chest “i’ve missed you guys, so, so much.” you laughed with her “i miss you too, stay the night will you? We have ice cream at home” Makki groaned as you sent him a glare “c’mon you two, i’ll call Mattsun, it’s about time we all caught up.” you both nodded and began walking home together.

lee jeno had been asking this question time and time again. ever since he first asked you out on a date that summer day.

contrast to his reputation today, middle school jeno was much more reserved and quiet, very shy and not having many friends. he had developed a small crush on you ever since he was seated next to you in math class. although this had it’s pros and cons, the pro being that he could see you every day, with the con being that he could never exactly pay attention in class.

although this crush had been around for ages, jeno never exactly built up the courage to act on it until the first year of high school. by now, he had gained himself a reputation of being the school pretty boy, with his infamous eye smile and being amazing out on the field, it would be a lie to say you haven’t heard of him.

when he approached you after school, stuttering and stumbling over his words, you were a bit confused, to say the least. from what you had heard, you would expect him to be an overly confident yet cocky jock who had a new little toy every other day yet here he was, struggling to even say a sentence.

“just spit it out, jeno,” you shrugged nonchalantly, tapping your foot impatiently. your friend, gahyeon and you had plans at her house later today and you didn’t want to be late. “i don’t have all day.”

jeno took a deep breath in, exhaling out before pausing. “will you go on a date with me?” he expected a cold and harsh “no.”, scrunching his face as he braced himself for icy hard rejection.

“sure,” ‘wait what’ the boy opened his eyes, relaxing himself to the response, “i mean, why not? what’s the worst that could happen.”

his face slowly contorted into a smile, his eyes turning into small crescents as he resisted jumping up and down from excitement. “r-really? cool, uh is tomorrow, 6 pm, good?”

“sure, we can meet at the cafe near school?” jeno nodded ecstatically as your phone rang abruptly, you gave jeno a small but empty smile as you turned your back on him. you didn’t see it, but jeno began to pump his fist into the air excitedly.

the next day had come earlier than jeno expected, but the school day went just as slow. seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours. throughout the day, the boy was anticipating his date, his first one in a while, actually. contrary to what many people say and talk about behind his back, jeno was never really one to go on dates, always politely declining the offers he was given.

jeno sat in maths class, his eyes darting over to the clock every second as the loud ticks filled his mind, cancelling out his teacher’s words. the final seconds ticked in as the third hand on the clock got closer and closer to the second hand.

finally, a shrill ringing echoed throughout the halls and classrooms. students quickly jumped from their seats, bolting out the door to escape the classroom as quick as possible. 

as jeno ran out, he began to look through the stampede of students, his eyes darting everywhere for you. there you were, in the middle of a conversation with gahyeon. he nervously approached you two.

“uh, h-hi!” he smiled, his eyes folding into crescents. you turned your head towards the boy, “oh hi jeno, what is it?”

“about our uh,” jeno cleared his throat awkwardly, “our date, it’s still on, right?” he asked, uncertain.

although you’re untrue,

“yeah of course! i haven’t forgotten, don’t worry.” the boy breathed a sigh of relief as he nodded, “okay! i’ll see you there!”

i’m attracted to you all the more.

almost an hour had passed. you weren’t there. jeno half-heartedly smiled at the waiter as the latter handed him his coffee. “uh- are you waiting for someone, sir?” the waiter asked awkwardly, pointing to the other seat.

“yeah but i’m not sure if they’re coming.” the waiter gave a sympathetic smile to the boy, when the former headed back to the kitchen, jeno stiffly pulled out his phone, pressing a couple buttons as it began to dial a number.

baby, just to let me down?

“what is it, jeno?”

“i think they stood me up, jaemin.”

the next day, jeno decided to confront you about it. “oh i’m so sorry! i was going to go but then things happened, the car broke down and yeah.” you lied, in all honesty, you had just forgotten about the date but jeno was a sweetheart and you didn’t want to say the truth.

“it’s fine! it happens, would you be okay with rescheduling?” you perked up, you had stood up many people in your time but never did anyone try rescheduling. with a shrug, you replied, “sure.”

jeno lit up, “would my house tomorrow, at 5 be fine?” tomorrow was a weekend so he doubted there would be any problems. “yeah, of course.”

i run to the door,

an hour and a half went by, it was around 6:37 pm now and there was no sight of you there. jeno pursed his lips, before the doorbell rang. he perked up at the sound, bolting to the door. but as he opened it, instead of you being there, there was only the pizza delivery man.

i can’t take it anymore, it’s not you,

jeno’s smile fell as he sighed, he took the pizza from the man and gave him some money before slamming the door shut. “did something happen again?” he wondered out loud, falling back on the couch as he opened the box.

you let me down again.

parts of the pizza had slid to the left side, causing it to look deformed and sad. with a small sigh, jeno took a slice, taking a bite as he chewed on it emotionlessly.

the months went by like this, jeno would ask you out on yet another date and you’d agree. he’d get all ready then wait for you but you wouldn’t show up. then you’d make up some bullshit excuse. 

“sorry, my dog died and my sister got really sad so i had to comfort her.

“sorry, i lost my way and my phone battery had ran out.”

“sorry, i was really behind on some assignments and had to do them quickly, or else mr. yang would have failed me and i don’t want to disappoint my parents.”

jeno was understanding and he was always willing to try again. he was starting to get suspicious though, he was a little tired of getting stood up. this has happened way too many times for it to just be a coincidence.

many wondered why jeno was still so resilient with you, why he didn’t give up and why he didn’t ever get fed up with it. truth is, he is. but he loves you, and will keep trying however long it takes.

today, you two had plans at 8, to head over to a small restaurant nearby. jeno had come early, as usual and was on his phone, waiting patiently.

baby, just to let me down.

time passed, the other customers left as new ones arrived but jeno was still there. jeno got nervous as he sighed, he couldn’t even keep count of how many times you had stood him up, for the number would be too high.

he had called you time and time again yet it always went straight to voicemail. “hey kid, the restaurant’s closing.” a staff member approached him, jeno apologised, taking his belongings and paying for the bill.

and mess me around,

as the boy walked outside, he felt a small cold droplet land on his head. then another one and another. before he knew it, the rain was pelting at him, he let out small shivers as the coldness engulfed him.

and then worst of all, you never call baby, when you say you will.

he tried again, dialing your number but once again, voicemail. he wanted to get angry, his patience level was dropping but he couldn’t. after all, you’re not his and you never will be.

finished my first playthrough just now. it just felt so wholesome ??? 100/10 would do it again. i laughed. i cried. i got angry. i felt second-hand embrassment— i got so into it i was left in literal tears after getting my first ending. the art, the storyline, the music, and COVE HOLDEN– UGH IT WAS LITERAL PERFECTION ❤ THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT. So I was following you guys on itchio for years and uhh did I stay up til 6 am on a school night to finish the game? Yes. Did I sob my eyes out during step 3 as a 20 year old having doubts about life and adulthood? Absolutely. I can't form proper sentences right now due to lack of sleep but just wanted to say thank you for making it. Hi! I played through 'Our Life' yesterday and  I just wanna say how refreshing it was to be able to have Cove be 'high initiative' and also have so many opportunities to initiate affection from the player character! As a pretty flirtatious/affectionate person myself, I notice that a lot of VNs don't give players that agency, and affection can be kinda 'carrot on a stick' if that makes sense. You guys did an awesome job! I look forward to seeing if there are more of those moments in Step 3 & 4 :)

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the option to choose Cove's level of initiative in step 3! As much I love the option to choose I personally enjoy have the romanced character take the lead without my input so when I got to step 3 and had to option to make it so that Cove initiated affection without as much input from me I was really happy! You guys seriously added so much freedom in terms of choices, it's almost baffling that the only thing you have to pay for is optional DLC!

I absolutely loved everything about the game and I really want congratulate the team for making the game such a satisfying experience.

Ok, so I just finished Our Life and, wow. I have never cried at a video game before, ever. Thank you so, so much! Its one of my favorites.

this isn't a question, but i just wanted to say how much i enjoyed our life 🥺 i've been patiently looking forward to the full game for a few months now, and i couldn't be happier with it! i've only played through it once so far but the outcomes of the choices i made were all so soft and wholesome 💗 i can tell that everyone who was involved really worked hard and you all did an incredible job! i can't wait to see what else is in store 👍

i’d just like to say how addictive our life is!!! i constantly played it during quarantine and now playing the full release is so amazing to me!! i love that i’m still discovering dialogue bits with different personalities and actions!!! i have to admit that i’ve been wishing the day to pass faster all day during school so i could go home and play again. mentally i’m not the healthiest and our life being released has boosted it up so much, thank you for creating such an amazing game!!!!!

Just wanted to say that Our Life really made me feel seen as an 18 year old trans man who's been struggling with change as of late and I can't thank you guys enough for it. I just finished the main story and currently released DLC's and gosh, I can really only say... woah. Just, woah. The messages are somehow exactly what I needed to hear right now, and they brought me a lot of comfort in this really weird and confusing time in my life. good people i have just finished Our Life and let me say, it was beautiful. rarely have such non-fantastical moments (and even some fantastical moments) brought me to tears like this game has, and i don't even have the dlc (yet). i don't know how you did it but it felt like i was playing a slice of life anime. i had waited with baited breath to play this since i played the demo and my expectations were not just met but surpassed. from the bottom of my heart thank you for this game

I found the game by chance and I am so so glad I did. It’s so inclusive and made me feel so incredibly seen. Seeing that my gender identity and sexuality were possible just meant the absolute world to me. I’ve never seen something like this and it just made me so incredibly happy. Thank you for the absolutely amazing game and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Hello! I downloaded Our life earlier this week and I'm only now getting the chance to play it (Very busy and stressful week) I'm so excited to play and I wanna say thank you for making this adorable game!

I just finished my first playthrough of Our Life and I can't even express how much I love it. Cove is absolutely precious and has killed me several times, and the art and soundtrack is beautiful. I love all the small different choices. I'm very interested in the Derek and Baxter DLCs and the rest, can't wait!!!!!!

thank you for "Our Life Beginnings & Always" it has to be one of the best visual novels i ever have played and i just dont want it to end (i know it will, but damn it! i want to have a wedding night, have children and die of old age with cole! I've been watching "Our Life: Beginnings & Always" development for quite some time, and I gotta say its wild to see it finally release. Its so unique in the way relationships work- even character creation. I've cried multiple times over this game while playing. I can't thank y'all enough for a game with these kind of mechanics, and representation. its rare I get to feel im really playing as myself in games like these. Everyones outdone themselves. this'll certainly be one I keep coming back to.

I've been following the development of Our Life from way back when the first demo dropped and it still blows my mind how many choices and customizations there are (love that update for the MC's bedroom btw!) and the fact that the game remembers them - it really feels like your very own coming of age story! I know this isnt exactly the main focus of the game, but i really love how we can customise the mc personality wise! This is the first time i've played a game like this where the mc actually does and says exactly what I would do and say in certain situations and its such a breath of fresh air!! It's also so cool how the other characters can pick up on it!!

I'm not sure I'll be able to play another without comparing it to Our Life and I know if I do that I'll be disappointed every time because of how amazing it is. Csn i just say i really appreciate how you handled MC deciding to use they/them at different stages. Mainly because alot of games don't pay much attention to the body the mc was assigned at birth if they player chooses nonbinary like it does with male/female. And it was just nice to be able to play an mc who just thought gender was kinda 'meh' for them but still felt good about the body they were born with (like myself). I guesd it boils down I'm really appreciative of the hard work it must've taken for you to make all those options possible & still have them matter.

I just wanted to thank you all for Our Life. My mental health hasn't been in a good place recently and it has become my favorite form of escapism/way to cheer up. It's idyllic setting and fantastic characters are such a good way to wind down, I love it. Also, I've been dreading 2021 due to classes starting and general stress, but the DLC and your next project have given me something to actually look forward to :). I'm so excited for them and now I actually have a reason to be happy that it's 2021. I've gotta say this is one of the most repayable games I've ever played, if not the most. Usually after i do a playthrough or two of a game i have to wait awhile before playing again otherwise it feels stale. But i haven't had that problem with our life because of the sheer ammount of player agency. Everyone who works on tbe game should feel incredibly proud of themselves because you've created something amazing.

Imma go with the first episode I watched him in, like yesterday.

Birds of a feather (I know this wasn’t the first one he comes out it, but it was just the first one that looks interesting, sue me)

Okay so, Birds of a feather starts out with Penguin stealing a bunch of paintings from a museum, stating that he apologizes for the inconvenience, but at least “I’m a man of style” I HAD TO PAUSE IT AND LAUGH FOR A MOMENT.

Anyways, so they’re taking the painting and oop- HERES Batman to ruin it.

Long story short, Oswald STARTS SHOOTING AT HIM WITH THE UMBRELLA WHICH I COMPLETELY FORGOT WORKED LIKE A GUN BUT OKAY

And then he falls down some big ass stairs and gets stuck in a chandelier, thus the police get him and take him to Stonegate.

SIX MONTHS LATER, and he’s released, saying that he’s completely reformed.

AND HE GOES OUTSIDE AND WAITS FOR A LIMO (which never shows and I DONT KNOW IF I WAS SAD OR IF I WAS CRINGING)

Eventually, a bus (very gross btw) shows up and takes him to his penthouse.

So he goes into his house, expecting a welcoming comity AND NO ONE IS THERE AND OH MY GOD I FELT SO BAD UUUGHH.

Well, actually Batman is there, saying something about how he’s gonna be watching Ozzie like a hawk. Kinda gay but aight.

ANYWAys, after Penguin offers him rat poison, he leaves and then the phone starts ringing. Oswald picks it up and there’s this bitch, okay?

Her name is Veronica, and she WANTS TO DATE HIM.

Well, turns out the only reason she wanted to date him was bc her boyfriend and her decided that they wanted to invite him to their party because it was funny?? Exciting??? Idk stupid rich people.

So, unknowing to her real motives, Oswald goes on the date with Veronica and I WAS DYING AT THIS PART BC

BC HE’S EATING FISH LIKE A FUCKING BIRD, SWALLOWING FISH. NOT EVEN CHEWING THIS SHIT.

Anyways, so he asks Veronica “I know you want something from me, so what is it?”

And she goes. “I just wanted to see you. I’ve always found you attractive. I’ve always had a thing for…Roman noses,”

I WAS SCREAMING AT THAT.

SO THIS BITCH (Oswald) GETS ALL FLUSTERED AND THEN STARTS FLIRTING WITH HER AND SHIT, and then they leave bc the owner of the restaurant hated him.

OH OH- AND THEN THEY’re WALKING DOWN A STREET AND THESE THUGS ARE LIKE “looks like money,” bc ya know how Penguin dresses.

So they go to get their money AND PENGUIN PROCEEDS TO BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THEM WITH HIS UMBRELLA until Batman comes and ruins it.

And, thinking that Penguin is apart of that gang of thugs, he says something along the lines of “I knew you wouldn’t last very long,”

And Veronica is like “No, actually, he saved my life!”

And she helps Ozzie stand up and brush himself off and he’s thanking her and calling her his Peach.

AND BATMANS JUST STANDING THERE AWKWARDLY AND GOES “peach?????”

YEAH BRUCE THEYRE IN LOVE. SHES GOT RED HAIR, WHAT’D YOU EXPECT.

So, they end up going on like, three more dates, and then finally the main party comes up.

Basically, Penguin is gonna gift Veronica a little gold Penguin necklace and when he’s looking for her, he overhears her and her boyfriend talking about (pretty much) how ugly he is.

AND I WAS OVER HERE LIKE 🥺🥺🥺 THIS POOR MAN UGH

So he proceeds to put some sort of mildly toxic spray in the room after exposing their plans. And then takes Veronica and disappears.

Long story short, he ends up using her for ransom for one million dollars and traps the boyfriend in an opera house. Veronica is tied to a GIANT chandelier that Penguin plans on dropping ontop of the boyfriend LMAO

But, of course, Batman ruins it (tbh unfortunately bc IMO they kinda deserved to die 🤷🏽) and Penguin is sent to jail again.

In my opinion, Penguin is honestly one of the saddest rogues, mostly bc no one likes him.

I personally think while Porkius isn't the best king by far, he also isnt the worse. And he makes sure to treat the group with some respect and treats them like humans instead of mindless fighters, giving them what they need and taking certain things into consideration (Like Ran's inability to touch water). But because he's not perfect he also tends to hold him to high expectations and is sometimes seen as rude, mean, and uninterested in them. So a friendly boss-coworker relationship is the best way to describe it probably.

Grievous is Sapnaps character! But as far as I know there where no hints about any characters being related to people like Sapnap, Ranboo, Punz, etc. So Grievous is completely different from Sapnap, more hesitant and shy at times, but confident and kind. At first the friendship is slow and seems like it may just fall apart, but it doesn't to their surprise, and its when conversations between the 4 are even going on beyond battles and training they get closer.

Again taking inspiration from a lighthouse is waiting for me, as of now Karl went back in time and saved the fishers, dropping them infront of Ranbob to make their own decision. They keep him in prison for a while until Benjamin starts to suspect something is off, and moves him as far from the Dream room and the closest possible to the surface, where Ranbob starts to act differently. Eventually as Ranbob gets better and they eventually, reluctantly trust him, they decide to move to the fishers shack, even after Cletus and Isaac repeatedly say they want to stay in Mizu but Benjamin and Charles said being so close could set Ranbob back. Ranbob does not become a fisher man, instead he hangs around and tries multiple different things (repair work, cooking, arts and craft, etc) in an attempt to find who he is again and what he's good at.

I imagine a part of Dream somehow managed to latch onto his mask, not enough to have a own body and mind, but enough to get into vulnerable enough peoples mind to manipulation them. And after multiple disasters, and lettibg his mentor down, Ranbob became depressed and desperate for a way to make it all right. And that how Ranbob became so heavily influenced by Dreams remaining presence.

When the battle begins Ranbob desperately calls for it to be stopped and that he forfeits, but Porkius and Ran refuse to let him leave without a fight. At first Ran attacks Ranbob, but he lets Ranbob fight back. And makes a show of him dogding and countering attacks, making it known they are truly better than Ranbob in fighting and will win no matter what Ranbob does. Porkius thinks its fine and doesn't notice that Ran is striking to kill (as according to the Tales people are only knocked unconscious in the arena and not killed), until Ran picks up Ranbob and throws him against one of the rocks in the arena, where he starts to beat him and throw him more against the rock. Then Porkius hastily calls off the match and sends people in to grab Ran.

I headcanon Ranbob as being less than 25% enderman, not being able to teleport and only sometimes being allowed to pick up blocks.

While I headcanon Ran as being about 70% enderman. Which is very rare. And due to this percentage he is able to teleport (which is highly rare for enderman hybrids, as typically their other side/human side can't handle the teleportation) although sometimes he can't fully control where he goes), pick up blocks, and fluently speak enderman and make noises.

And no, Ran does not recognize Jackie as looking similar to Tubbo. Ran doesnt have the clearest memory of Mizu, only remembering certain moments. One of the things he doesng remember is the paintings/pictures, he knows there are rooms dedicated to multiple Ancestors, but forgot that said rooms tend to have paintings/pictures of the Ancestors. I hope that's what you mean by the last part anyway?

Okay, so fairly okay King Porkius, even if they aren’t the closest, got it.

Glad I got Grievous right, there. He seems to have an interesting personality. I’m curious about everyone else’s personalities here as well, given certain circumstances, and the bits we got from them. 

They become fairly close, huh? That’s nice. Is there anyone who’s particularly close? Watson and Ran seemed to know each other somewhat. And what’s their relationship with the other fighters from the Pit? If nobody died, then I imagine the others are still around. Do they talk or fight with them occasionally?

So Karl saved the fishermen, and they kept him in a prisoner? Where? In Mizu, I’m assuming from what you said, but did they keep in a room or something? And since you said Benjamin noticed something was off, was he able to sense something, or is he just observant? 

How do they deal with the Dream mask? Or is that a plot point for later? Do they even figure out that’s what was influencing Ranbob, or just know it’s something in Mizu?

Ranbob’s just kind of learning new stuff, seems like it might come in handy. Maybe he can sew or something? Cletus and Isaac could explore Mizu more, on their own? Or would that make them vulnerable to the mask as well?

Speaking of, how is life with the fisherman, like around the house? Are they fairly well-off, or having some trouble with the new addition? Who’s closest to Ranbob?

And, uh, oof. I can imagine that’s a whole mess to deal with. Not only are the fishers getting themselves involved, but the gladiator gang is probably shocked at what happened. First impressions are less than great, I bet. How does Ran feel once he calms down a bit? And what’s everyone’s reactions to discovering their brothers, on both sides? Since the gang would hear that Ranbob killed hundreds, and the fishermen would realize Ran didn’t know what had been happening to his brother. 

Now, the brothers’ different abilities are interesting, and I’m curious as to how it would effect their battle styles. Are they the only hybrids of their respective groups, or are there others?

And I believe there was a picture of the original L’manberg crew in the Clingy Duo room? Do Ranbob or one of the fisherman recognize how much Jackie looks like Tubbo? Does it confuse them, or do they brush it off?

Poor Ranbob. Is he hurt badly? I imagine he’ll need some sort of medical attention, which gives the two groups an opportunity to talk. Do the fishermen stick around, or leave after that shocking display?

i think that ronan's morals and beliefs are not that firm at the moment tbh, he's slipping and he's slipping fast, but like i said in that other ask i think he'll reach a tipping point, perhaps after a period of bryde-related doubts setting in. i genuinely have no idea how that's all going to go down.

i'm answering this without going back to the book and checking any details (i'm not ready to revisit it yet), but from what i remember, there's nothing that says adam was explicitly in on the plan declan sets in motion to try and get rid of bryde. he offered declan the information he'd uncovered and declan took it from there. maybe declan let him know, maybe he didn't, i'm not sure. but the timing of this phonecall ronan makes to adam is crucial. he's already been 'betrayed' by declan, and calling adam up and asking if him and bryde can lay low really seems like a test, and it's a test adam doesn't pass. it almost doesn't matter what adam's sad "oh" means in the end, because ronan's already decided what it means. there's no discussion, no waiting for any explanations. and really, adam doesn't owe ronan any explanations here. ronan's the one who cut off contact in the end; his excuse of adam not texting back wears pretty thin when you know ronan's been capable of contacting him the whole time and hasn't, and also that he's been keeping adam out from contacting him in dreamspace or however the fuck that works.

it does feel like ronan's now in this headspace of 'if you're not with me then you're against me' which is like, monumentally unfair and super dangerous. there is so much character work left to do in the last book now that i'm not sure how satisfactorily it's all going to be done. but i do have faith that they will start to communicate at some point and i guess we'll see how it goes!

to get a wiggle on has become « il faut qu’on se remue les fesses », literally « we need to shake our butts » like, yes, se remuer les fesses is a common expression to say « we need to act in order to get things done » but it really casts the image of people shaking their booty to some music and obviously crowley thinks the same Weirdly enough I have almost nothing to say for that episode. Sorry. But we’ve discovered most voice actors and actresses so far and no bit of dialogue really struck me as worth discussing or pointing fingers to mock it.

EP 6 

« on va BROUTER quelques derrières » - « we’re gonna lick some butts » OK THIS IS UNQUESTIONNABLY FAR SUPERIOR IN FRENCH THAN IN ENGLISH you thought LICKING butts was good ??? you really thought that ???? AZIRAPHALE HERE SUGGESTS TO GRAZE BUTTS. TO NIBBLE THEM. TO EAT THEM. TO. MUNCH. ON. THOSE. BUTTS!!!! not just licking, guys. This is as serious step beyond licking. (oh yeah he should have said « botter » instead of brouter btw, which is really just kicking, fyi)

« moi je crois en la paix, pétasse ! » wow, language, pepper (fyi i think « pétasse » is far far worse than « bitch » even if it means roughly the same, pétasse is almost never used while bitch is rather common, so it’s a swear word +++)

I can confirm that Crowley offers Aziraphale to not just stay at his place, but to move in with him. « tu peux t’installer chez moi si tu veux ». omg they were roommates.

Bad translation strikes again : i don’t know why, but the french dub doesn’t have the « tickety-boo » / « ça gaze » being referenced as Rampa / Aziraphale is being knocked down, which is… a real mistep. It was narratively significant and I’m quite mad the translators missed it.

The Jesse James explanation from Newt has become very nonsensical, instead of the neat and to the point pun « wherever I go I hold up trafic » we’re getting a circonvoluted « because it’s a crime to mechanic’s diligence ». I’m not judging that one too hard, I have no idea how to make it better, and that’s probably how it was translated in the book as well thirty years ago, but it definitely doesn’t have the same impact. On the other hand, it definitely IS a very bad joke that doesn’t even deserve a chuckle, so Anathema’s embarassement really matches the audience’s (aka mine).

OVERALL :

I wasn’t convinced by Crowley… I mean, Rampa’s voice at first, but as the nerdiness showed up it really grew on me. I still think that french dubs have often problems with some voice inflexions every here and there, and for instance in Rampa’s case it was when he was annoyed or frustrated ( at the Globe when complaining about horses and Shakespeare’s plays that aren’t comedies, and also when discussing Azirphale’s magic tricks, it’s like… there is a step between having the right amount of grumpy complaining and overdoing it that is overlooked. It’s overacted, it should have been a bit quieter imo. I don’t mean to criticize voice actors too hard either but as an audience watching french dubs this is a very recurring problem and it always feels off to me. It’s actually one of the main reasons I avoid french dubs whenever possible.)

I have a hard time judging Aziraphale’s voice dub because it clashes so much with both the idea I had formed with it when I read the book and Sheen’s delivery that I just… kinda filtered it. It was too high pitched for me, and too anxious (though for this last point I must admit it could be funny at times, but I’m not fond of this character portrayal). The rest of the cast was rather good, nothing to complain about. There wasn’t anything stellar either, but everything that needed to be conveyed was and it was professionnal. It was also very homogeneous, no voice really struck me as being way too bad or way too good compared to the others, so it was really consistant.

So I don’t have much to complain about overall despite a few wonky translations here and there, BUT there is one thing I felt very robbed of : Crowley calling Aziraphale « mon ange » happens only once, when giving a lift to Anathema, and I’m almost certain they translated it that way because otherwise the joke about Anathama mistaking them for a couple wouldn’t work. So, they were forced to make it that way. The rest of the time Crowley calls Aziraphale « l’angelot », and despite being literally translated by « little angel », it feels sarcastic more than anything else ( the « L’ » in front of « angelot » is part of the reason why, it creates some distance, the other reason being that this word in itself has a very corny vibe and people being affectionnate to each other wouldn’t use it as a term of endearment). So, that’s a shame.

I like the English dub much much MUCH better than the French, but the french wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. The voice actors and actresses were quite good, the dialogues mostly faithful and endearing despite a few really missed steps. It really had its moments. Props to brouter des derrières, that one was fantastic.

so with s2 announcement which i am so beyond happy about especially since that was the last k-bl i watched and like the last bl i watched and enjoyed i think. on a level where i'm like oh this is a good movie. so i'm gonna have to watch it as a movie bc the supercut, minus the fades, is a well-flowing movie. they are writing them episodically with not a film in mind which is important but it's just easier to not have to constantly break bc the eps are short

i really like kim kang min bc his ability for us to know how jiwoo felt even as obviously a) he smiles as a real person (kang min, not jiwoo) b) his reactions makes u REALLY have to pay attention for both of them but the writing lends itself well to that esp when he freezes when he's touched OR the scene where theyre drunk and he gets so mad even before they have that convo

which is like one of my fav scenes bc i was nOT expecting that at all like sincerely how desperate seo joon was and how pissed ji woo was. my other fav thing is when they both /know/ like after what happened and theyre back in the resto and seo joon is like "it seems like you're flirting" and ji woo is liek "what"

YES I DO KNOW anyway every bit also tehre's a point where when kSJ works in the resto at first after he asks HJW if hes making him do all this shit on purpose and HJW is like nope :) theyre all frantic and HJW says, casually and like not at all highlighted, "hey slow down" A BEAUT

and i hope we can see more about how they joke with each other. clearly they love each other's company and they definitely talk. HJW isn't as insanely quiet but seo joon just isnt shy which is part of why hyung ki was upset bc either he was crushing on him or insanely jealous and that much was not clear but i like that. anyway the fact that HJW cares about people ("dont smoke") but hyung ki just could not fucking understand it. which btw i def know hyung ki did care about him bc when the landlords come he pats HJW on the back for having to hear that shit. he knows he made the menu.

also every time they were in a scene together it was just fun as friends and those who like each other and also their circle. pil hyun, yoon seul (noona!), ho min, seo joon, jiwoo. want to see their friendships expand and pil hyun and ji woo and i want to see how active jiwoo is now that he is way less alone he can absolutely laugh and smile and KSJ knows that. my fav convo is from the end when theyre talking about dating and KSJ gets jealuos and HJW was like u fuckin liar uve dated tons and KSJ is like wOW MY FEELINGS R HURT and theyre joking and HJW is like yea you are charming ok i get it but it's sarcastic and fond~*~* and how mature and easy it is for jiwoo to actuallys say things i think ive hit all my points the boys are there and i can't wait til we get them doing more fun stuff and shenans and not bullshit

also i think i thought kim kang min was older because it was easy for him to be in these scenes and situations whereas so many ppl u can tell theyre uncomfortable plus the ksising (also when he isnt smiling he does look older also wtf? idk i am like idk what anyone of any age looks like i could see son woo hyun's laugh lines which was an indicator but he still looks young like actually my age so i thought it wa silke taht but han ji won who plays seul is 25 and i thought she was ALSO my age so?!?!?!?!? As most of her insecurity started because of him and how she had to be the bigger person for his other family, clearing out the misunderstanding between them brought a sense of peace  while she’s settling in the restless turn of events.

y/n becomes a real baddie when she’s pissed off 😫

hmm y/n wasn’t really working hard for her dad’s attention, it was more like she felt so left out and unwanted (she feels unwanted wherever she goes) that she just decided to pack up and support them from afar bcos to her, she’s so alienated in her dad’s family that she felt like she had to work hard to earn a spot in their table. she knows she’s the outsider but she wants to feel like she can be part of them, that she is also a child deserving of love and care, but becos her stepmom focused more on her actual kids and her own dad was too busy with his new family now, it made y/n feel that she had to do something to be worthy of that.

that’s why most of the money she made working in tokyo was still wired to her family; she put her brothers in school and supported them, all because she hoped it would make them accept her more. now, things are different because she finally found her biological family, but even if valeria and co. still don’t want her, y/n is now more focusing on building something that’s truly hers that no one can take away. yes yes, she did become greedy, but more for power than of acceptance. she got to a point she doesn’t care as much vying for her parents’ approval and now thinks her luxury gives her comfort; only because at least she has that much. like she said in the latest chapter, happiness was not what she needed, it was stability and money - all things she lacked before.

and yea she did go back to her roots! all of her issues started with her dad anyway but that part is slowly patching up 🩹💔 oooh actually your theory is right bestie 🧐 gojo found y/n interesting bcos she reminded him of mia, so the more she pushed him away, the more he’s like wait, i’ve been here before, let’s not repeat past mistakes but i can do better now. on the part where gojo talked to mia while she was asleep, notice how he said he’s given a second chance to do better now, all because he couldn’t do them with mia but he could with y/n.

ohhh actually y/n was the one who established that ‘fulfilling mutual need and settling for familiarity instead of being lonely’ type of relationship. gojo avoided her for weeks and he’s pretty settled in keeping his distance, but she was the one who sought him out. deep down, y/n is afraid if she doesn’t at least use him as an anchor to her more humble roots, then she might spiral out of control and end up like valeria, thus using him as a ‘distraction’ but in reality, she needs his comfort to be grounded.

SECOND LEAD AGENDA OMG LETS GOOO 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️ geto the fine fine option.

HIS PEN SPIN HELPPP WHY COULDN’T HE JUST BEEN OUR BABY DADDY 😫 he pulls them fast spins bcos he’s nervous btw HAHAHAHA y/n can be quite intimidating and lawyer! naoya is sometimes too precious.

celebrity chef! sukuna is MEAN! he was pictured after gordon ramsay so lmao. omgggg sukuna being famous not only for his food but also his handsomeness 😳 he gets so cocky over how no one can get in his level while popping a battle of champagne, listening to ‘careless whisper’ while dancing to his reflection in the mirror 😤

also yoo supermodel! choso is THE hot shit 🥵 he’s so famous his schedule is packed for an entire year and a half and those are just for very selected brands and designers! ugh imagine going to work on the subway when you see supermodel! choso with rbf posing sexily and you swoon because he’s so sexy. plot twist that choso doesn’t know how to drive bcos as a kamo family member, they grew up with drivers taking them to and fro, so when his driver got sick and everyone else was busy, supermodel choso takes the subway himself and hides behind a face mask and cap while still wearing extravagant clothes that makes him stand out more. he does not have ‘subtle’ on his book at all.

and yeah people say he’s intimidating but its more his height and build + rbf! in reality, he’s just as soft and sweet as naoya, but both of them go into protective mode when someone they care about is being crapped on. and boy when they DO get into “what did you just say?” mode, better run away 🏃🏻‍♀️ supermodel! choso is also an heir to the kamo empire though not after the business, but he still has enough power to take you down in a second.

meanwhile, lawyer! naoya didn’t become this successful without being so savage yet composed he makes you question your entire existence before he drags you to court. lawyer! naoya is so scarily convincing that he can make you plead guilty even tho you did nothing wrong 💀

aaaah omg supermodel! choso LOVES babies actually! as the eldest child who looked after his brothers bcos the kamo parents are always away for work, being a father figure is so natural to him. i can picture him being the one who cries harder than gojo if the baby is born bcos he’s so excited, then reads poems to the baby before sighing that childbirth is such a beautiful thing 🥺

Why Season 3 was a Rollercoaster of a mess. (Spoilers!)

 Oh boy

Oooooooh boy where do I even begin

Lets start from the beginning i Suppose

When Miraculous Ladybug first came out i fell in love with the series. I thought the premise was nice, the characters ok and the story interesting. Well, to be fair I didnt expect much of the story due to being in its first season, but I loved it. The finale was meh (the last episode, not the mid-series Origins story, I watched it on Netflix). I liked the series. I loved the fandom. And i Couldn’t wait for season 2 at the time.

Then season 2 came out

As i started watching the first ep of season 2, it started out strong, answered a question i already knew, but then... it didn't go any further. See, when I expected season 2, I expected the story to be taken up a notch, the plot to become stronger, new and interesting characters to be introduced, and for someone to replace Hawkmoth as the antagonist (bc in my mind, he always felt like a season 1 antagonist to be replaced one season later by the actual main antagonist, and the mayura leaks did not help). 

But it never came. The story remained simple and eventually started to become bland. All episodes were all single-story eps with no correlation to each other other than the characters in them. Every single character in the show that wasnt Marinette had any sort of character growth, and I could take any one of the episodes out other than the first and last two and it wouldn't have any impact. Maybe not all of them, but some.

(This was the same time I learned that all episodes in the series were meant to always be single episode storylines. It was the same time I learned the the shows creator was also an ASS-truc, but thats a story for another day)

So for season 2, I ended up starting to find the show boring and lackluster. Most of the episodes were boring and unentertaining, and aside from a select few, such as the finale, the new hero eps and a few others, the entire season was boring to heck. 

Worse still, Marinette went from an ok nice girl (who was at times a bit of an arse) to a stalker asshole who was at times worse than Chloe. 

(Then again, the first episode of the entire series literally had Marinette have a planner used to track Adrien's every move, so what the hell do i know)

The fandom, however, was still amazing at the time, so I stuck around. The fanfics were amazing at the time and the fandom was still so kind-hearted

Luckily for me, Season 3 would manage to have some much better episodes.

But at what cost.

WHAT. COST.

See, while Season 3 was undoubtedly better that season 2 overall in episode quality, this season was probably also the worst of all 3 at the same time. This season was not only the worst in overall season quality but the one that entirely ruined the fandom for me. The plot was again non-existent and there was still no character development, but they manage to make this season better by making a plotline that required all characters to be an idiot ball, then ditch it at the end just so Thomas could again insult people on twitter.

Lets start with the first episode of Season 3: Chameleon

Sometime before the production of season 2 and 3, Asstruc learned how to write someone as a martyr people would feel pity for that character and want to protect (read: stan) them.

So naturally, Ass-truc would abuse this a lot.

In the first ep of season 3, Astruc would create the worst episode ever made. 

The premise of the episode is that Lila has returned to school and has been telling lies, which makes Marinette mad. None of the class believes her due to everyone being written as an idiot (seriously the someone gotta has google on their smartphones everyone has), so of course, Naturally Mari confronts Lila, who swears to ruin her life before and after an akuma battle which doesnt really matter for this episode, aside from the fact that Lila fully works with hawkmoth because being a bad kid means that working with a terrorist is perfectly reasonable if you can get revenge on the good guys.

So, including the fact Ass-truc reintroduced Lila back into the show as a Chloe 2.0 to making everyone an idiot ball so that the writing could even work, this will be the episode that I will hate the most. And not just for the episode itself. We’ll come to that later. But the point is, this is how most of the season would go:

-Lila: *exists*

-Marinette: *cries* im suffering so much, my life is ruined!

-Fans: stan to the point of insanity

-Me sipping my salt flavored tea: b*tch calm the f*ck down.

Speaking of Marinette, the Miraculous team had already been hellbent on making Marinette more of an asshole, stalkery and creepy and passing it off as cute in season 2, so they decided to fix that by dialing all that shit up to 11. Episodes like Weredad and Oni-chan really showed this, with the former having Marinette Literally manipulating Chat Noir to be stuck in a bad situation just for her own sake, and latter literally having her try to break into Adriens house because Lila is there. All for the excuse that Lila is a Liar and totally not because she is with Adrien, Marinette cant be jealous because Marinetteisperfectandamazingand-

Yeah, she really sucks as the main character. TBH I'm waiting for the spinoff show where Alix and Kim dare each other to do stupid stuff each episode like its MTV’s Jackass, it's gonna be fun.

Now onto the Other episodes!

While I will admit that compared to season 2, there were a lot of good episodes. Gamer 2.0, Feast, Ikari Gozen, Party Crasher, and of course the heart-wrenching Oblivio come to mind. These episodes are amazing and show how good the episodes are when you make sure the garden gnome is locked in a closet somewhere during episode development.

So out of the 26 episodes, 5 of them were really good.

The rest were either kinda ok or complete shit. That's not to say they were all bad, but there were just some parts... at best there was either a part of it I found cringeworthy too much for me to consider it as one of the good ones, such as Pupetteer 2 with its Adrien Statue scene, or at worst all of it was just written so badly, such as the entirety of Stormy Weather not actually being an episode and acutally being just and episode recap.

Now for the plot. Oh, wait, what plot?

First of all, Miraculous never had one. At best it was just a bunch of single-episode stories that Ass-truc wants you to think are connected somehow and somehow all work together as a cohesive story. A lot of the characters in Miraculous Ladybug

You mean the overarching storyline where Marinette becomes a Guardian just because she can pick a hero? Yeah, just ignore the episode where Fu said he had to spend an entire childhood learning how to even be an apprentice Guardian, or ignore the fact that picking a person to be a hero doesn't make Marinette qualified to be Guardian in a slightest!

(If someone literally has to ask me this, ask yourself if a pharmacist is fit to be a doctor just because they hand out your meds.)

What about the storylines about other certain characters in the show like Lila, who the show has been building up to be a villain while casually destroying characters' intelligence to be able to do so? The story about Chloe accepting that she can’t really be a hero anymore and moving on?

Ruined by the Finale.

Oh yeah, the finale.

This season Finale was probably the worst finale out of all the seasons and half the stuff done in the last two episodes did not make sense. I dont want to talk about it much because I want to do a blog post about it later on, but for the sake of the finale, they ruined a bunch of characters, martyred Marinette for the 100th time, and created some stupid plot ideas for the sake of coolness. And by coolness i mean stanning Marinette again and making her extra special. Doesnt matter if it makes a contradiction or makes no sense. Stupidity has won this episode!

To be fair though, all the reasons above aren’t the reasons I hate this season.

The reason for season 3 being the worst for me is how it had ruined the fandom.

Ever since the first episode of season 3, the fandom has become a cesspool of salt and anger. Character bashing because the class didn't straight up agree with Marinette instantly, Over the top Marinette stanning, fanfics that go over the top crazy, it has gone insane. On ao3 most fanfics of ML that i have seen have been about ‘Chameleon Fix-Its’ where Lila is metaphorically shot with a GAT, ‘Marinette protection Squads’ which basically involve her moving schools because Lila exists, and the Maribat ship that has made my head dent my desk (seriously where the fuck did it come from?!). Worst still, as a result of Season 3, the Adrien hate has started to go crazy as a result of the Chameleon episode and similar eps resulting in Marinette being shipped with Luka (aka the better Adrien as stated by Marinette stans), Felix before the Felix episode dropped, and even Damien Wayne in the Notorious Maribat ship (no seriously where did it come from i want answers!). To put it simple, thanks to Ass-truc all of ao3 is filled with salt fics and no more original and interesting stories.

BTW while i have your attention and am talking about good Miraculous stories on ao3, go read Miraculous Tales by JED1 on AO3 its soo damn good.

To be fair, I myself am angry at the episode, but only because everyone was written to be an idiot ball for the episode to work, and because of the fact Astruc used the episode to rile up the fandom to be almost as toxic as him.

If anything, its the number one reasons why i hate seasons 3 and the reason why it has ruined the fandom for me.

And that, overall, is why i think Season 3 was a Rollercoaster of a mess.
