For the dragon AU imagine: jason is bonded with Red. Tim is bonded with the little dragon. Jason still has a bond with the little dragon. Because of that, when they meet, a connexion snaps into place between Jason and Tim... And slowly but surely, through this bond Tim starts to feel Red's emotion and affection bleed through, shaping the beginning of a bond with Red, leading to the saddest and most tender bond entaglement the world has ever seen.
I'm picturing a scene where Jason is astride over Tim on the ground and holding a knife above his throat with his arm raised and all of a sudden he is hit by a wave of terror so alien it's choking him, and Tim is hit with a wave of what at first he thinks is rage but soon recognizes as overwhelming grief, and Jason's hand begins to shake and Tim grabs his wrist and clutches it until Jason drops the knife and then Jason just falls like a puppet with its strings cuts and they hold each other, half sprawled on the ground, as emotions flood between them indistinguishably, and then the dragons find them and curl around them both protectively, physically entangled together.
But also, after Red bit the Little Dragon:
Tim: tell her to calm down!
Jason: well first off stop being on the defensive like that, she can feel it! She's not rabid or feral, she's just very hurt.
Tim, looking at the scars on Red's muzzles and Jason's face: So are you.
Jason being the one to tame the Red terror of the dragon world, meanwhile Tim being the one to tame her rider

A former Ultra host and a former Magical Girl settled down for ordinary life.
They met, fall in love, married and had children. However, none of them disclosed each other experiences as Ultra and Magical Girl to each other.
One child became the Red of the newest Sentai team, the other became a Kamen Rider. Like their parents, they kept this a secret.
Meanwhile, the third child, the true normal one in the family and also the one who knew all the family's secrets watched on from the sideline.

🔮 ⤷ Random and Unimportant Soul Rider Headcanons [Pt.1]
These are all mostly based on my own OC-ified versions of the Soul Riders, but I thought it would be fun to share nonetheless >:)
Linda collects plushies. Her bed is absolutely full of them, all different sizes, colours, styles, etc - as well as a lot from different fandoms she's in. For those that already came with names, she reassigned them names, and probably writes them all down in a designated notebook with cool little stickers and doodles of them.
Lisa is THE plant mom. They all buy her plants for her birthday, and they are like her children. Sometimes she’ll come home from long trips and find that some of them have wilted, and it’s the most heartbreaking moment for her as she tries desperately to revive them.
Anne will often get someone's attention by calling them by their last name only. ("PETERSON! What the HELL are you doing??")
In Linda's backpack, she has pretty much anything she could ever need. 4a. One of the things she carries is a small pocket notebook, where she writes snippets of poetry from random thoughts she has throughout the day, which she will inevitably look back on hours later (having forgotten what she'd wrote) and sit there thinking “Damn, that’s really shit why did I think that was cool and aesthetic”.
Alex has her friends saved in her contacts under the silliest of names. Linda as 'Sister of the Cheese', for example, or Anne as 'Sunshine [derogatory]'.
Lisa wears odd-coloured shoe laces. The most notable are her Converse, which are also covered in colourful patches, doodles, and embroidery that the whole group has contributed to.
Anne and Alex engage in aggressively cheesy, jokey flirting with each other, despite their relationship being purely platonic. This is probably down to the fact that they have the dirtiest minds. Sometimes they’ll just greet each other like: “Hey, sweetcheeks.” “Hey, sexy.”
Anne just has really cold hands?? Like, all the time??
Wall-hangings and tapestries are a big trade-off between Linda, Lisa and Anne.
There was definitely a moment where they all found out that Alex can rap really well. Eminem better watch out fr.
Linda collects scarves ready for the Autumn and Winter. Like, imagine her just browsing lil shops in Jarlaheim and she comes across a scarf she really likes, is just like UUUUEEE >:)) She is the Pinterest girly.
Lisa can't swim, but would really like to learn how. Until then, she is the designated rubber-ring dweller.
Alex cracks her knuckles. All. The. Damn. Time.
Anne absolutely loves card and dice games, and will challenge the others to a game or two if they have the stuff available. She probably carries around a pack of cards with her.
Alex is a WhatsApp sticker FIEND. She has a bank full of meme stickers to send in response to anything.

Cara Witnesses the Wrath of a Living God
Today, I stood as a silent witness to a moment both breathtaking and tragic—a failed attempt to bond with a dragon. The air thrummed with tension as the would-be rider, his voice quivering with a fragile blend of hope and dread, faced the young Golden Solaris Swift named Solara. Her radiant golden scales shimmered like living flames under the sunlight, each facet catching the rays and dancing with fiery brilliance. "Solara! Havestis! Solara! Havestis!" he pleaded, the Asterian command for "obey" ringing out in the stillness, a desperate cry for a connection that hovered just beyond his grasp.
Solara answered with a cry that split the air—a metallic, piercing shriek, sharp as a blade and rich with the resonance of molten gold. It shimmered with an unearthly energy, a sound so pure it seemed to glow, sending a chill of awe and terror through all who heard it. The Asterian handlers froze, their breaths catching as an icy dread coiled around their hearts. They knew that sound heralded a storm—an eruption of draconic fury that could unleash chaos upon them all. A heavy silence descended, thick with the weight of their fear.
From the shadowed edge of the platform, Solara emerged like a radiant phantom. Her scales, a stunning gold, refracted the dim light into a dazzling display, her serpentine body stretching over 35 feet long, her wings unfurling to a majestic 60-foot span. She glided forward with lethal grace, a predator cloaked in jewel-like armor that gleamed as if the midday sun had spilled across a treasury of gems. Her eyes blazed a fierce emerald green, slit pupils narrowing with a simmering irritability sparked by the mere utterance of her name—a warning of the tempest brewing within.
Her long neck, a cascade of shimmering scales, flowed with serpentine elegance as she approached the rider’s platform, tapering to an angular snout that radiated both beauty and menace. Crowning her head were horns—elegant yet deadly—rising just above her piercing eyes. They arched backward in a perfect, sinuous curve, three feet of slender, bronze-gold majesty, their spiraled ridges glinting like polished metal. Her crest flared as she moved, a fan of golden spines woven with an iridescent membrane, igniting a halo of light around her head that crowned her with an aura of divine regality.
Solara’s head pressed against the platform, a fortress of molten gold that seemed to sear the air itself. The rider gaped, astonishment washing over him as he whispered, "I’ve done it—I’ve tamed this mighty beast!" His words dripped with pride, a spark that ignited Solara’s disdain. Her irritability roared to life, a tempest of impatience churning within her. With a sudden, furious lash of her neck, she struck the platform, the crash resounding like thunder. The young man stumbled, his confidence shattering into trembling fear beneath her imperious glare.
Stubborn as unyielding stone, irritable as a chained wildfire, arrogant as a monarch on a gilded throne, impatient as a striking serpent, and vain as a star preening in the night—Solara was the embodiment of her kind. Golden Solaris Swifts despised wasted time, but what they loathed even more was the hubris of those who dared assume mastery over them. Her neck whipped again, a menacing rumble growling from her chest, shaking the ground beneath our feet. She reared high, her emerald-green eyes—now ablaze with regal scorn—fixing on him, a silent challenge burning in their depths: “Is that so?”
Before the handlers could react, her jaws tore open, a cavern of incandescent fury, gold and shadow swirling within. Out roared her Fyrak—dragon fire, a molten torrent of blinding gold that devoured the air with its ferocity. The rider vanished in an instant, consumed by the searing blaze, his fleeting form reduced to a scatter of brittle cinders and a wisp of ash drifting on the wind—a mere echo erased by the relentless, wrathful glory of Solara’s divine inferno.

Rinne is clingy.
“Rinne suddenly realizes she loves Houtaro! There’s no buildup!” seems like the main reason a lot of people dislike the current arc of Gotchard.
Okay, but take it back a second. Rinne is established to be an outsider amongst her peers. She focused on school and alchemy, and nothing else. Her relationship with her father became strained when he was revealed to have “betrayed” the alchemists’ union (thanks Gereyon). She can’t say anything, because she’s just a child against the masked whoevers in charge of the union. Rinne is the child of a traitor, and now she feels personally betrayed by her father. Because she can’t speak against the union, she bottles up her feelings, and thus, she becomes very cynical and aloof.
Rinne cannot let herself trust anyone, else she might get betrayed again.
Even in the alchemist academy, where she has Sabimaru and Renge (and Spanner, I guess), she doesn’t make a connection with them. She does her own business, they do theirs.
Then enters Houtaro. He quickly becomes a recurring presence in her life after joining the alchemist academy, and slowly manages to break down her barriers. He flips everything she’s perceived about friends and relationships on her head. Suddenly, she’s made a connection. Through Houtaro, she makes connections to the rest of the academy. Rinne becomes friends with Renge and Sabimaru, and the Chemies as well. She goes out to eat with Renge. She becomes comfortable enough with Houtaro (and Kajiki?) to show off her love of spooky things, a side that the old her would have likely hidden. She’s growing up. She may get annoyed with them, but they’re the first friends she’s made in a while, if ever. And Houtaro is the one who helped her build those bridges, supporting her, and she supports him right back. Rinne is happier than she’s ever been, now with friends and purpose in her life.
Aside from her father, Houtaro is her greatest connection and her best friend.
At the same time, however, Rinne is subconsciously relying on Houtaro to be an emotional support for herself. Even if she believes in him, she doesn’t fully believe in herself, even after gaining the power to become Majade. Rinne looks to Houtaro to reaffirm his belief in her and support for her; if he doesn’t do that, she doubts herself. And with Tsukumo suddenly taking up all of Houtaro’s attention, she’s not receiving that affirmation. Her first/best friend and largest connection is being cut off by someone else, and seems to have replaced her.
Subconsciously, Rinne is clingy. Mostly towards Houtaro, but also towards the rest of the squad. She feels like she, and socially awkward introvert, belongs with a group of friends.
She’s maybe a bit jealous, but now, she’s anxious that her connection to Houtaro is diminishing because of his childhood friend who literally came out of nowhere and inserted herself back into his life. And now that subconscious clinginess has become more prominent.
And now she’s doubting herself again.
If Rinne can’t be supported by Houtaro, or if she can’t support Houtaro, does her presence matter with Tsukumo around? Everyone, from Kajiki to Tamami, seems to gel well with Tsukumo hovering around Houtaro, trying to grab his attention with her big ol’ doe eyes. Suddenly she’s become the outsider again. Rinne isn’t questioning if she loves Houtaro, she’s questioning herself and her self-worth.
And Tsukumo, if unintentional, feeds into that doubt. Her declaration to be able to go after Houtaro without any worries feeds Rinne’s self-doubt.
And Atropos is really, really, REALLY, good at fueling that doubt even further.
What if Houtaro starts doubting her? What if her entire friend group suddenly doubts her? Suddenly she’s in her father’s shoes. Is she going to be branded a traitor as well?
(Okay, maybe that’s a stretch)
Houtaro is pure of heart and dumb of ass, so it’s unlikely he’ll turn on her. He’s able to recognize that she was hurting in episode 14, can see the good in humans and Chemies alike, and also seems to be better at socializing… save for recognizing when Tsukumo is flirting with him.
But the worry is still planted. Maybe that’s why Minato tells her to fight as herself in the preview? So she can believe in herself? Rinne has relied on Houtaro to help her believe in herself, but the what-if of if he doesn’t has been provoked.
The main writer of Gotchard is Hasegawa, who graciously gifted us with Yomogi and Yume from SSSS.DYNAZENON, a show that also featured a relationship between two high schoolers. The buildup between Yomogi and Yume versus Houtaro and Rinne is similar: two teenagers learning to support one another. What differs is that Yomogi and Yume are both emotionally scarred by their past, and they learn how to heal and bond as a result, while Rinne is relying of Houtaro to support her as she heals. Houtaro doesn’t seem to carry any kind of emotional baggage going into forming a connection with Rinne, aside from a missing father, so he’s not needing reassurance of himself. He needs reassurance from everyone equally to bring out Gotchard’s full strength. It’s doubtful he would recognize that he’s been christened as Rinne’s emotional support extrovert.

Reading that bit about wounded/poisoned Dick turning up in Jason's new kingdom to try and bargain with his brother to spare Tim?
That...has the potential to be a GREAT reverse version of the usual fanfic trope of Bruce or Dick seeing Jason and thinking he is a ghost or a hallucination.
Jason, guilt ridden and horrified by what he did, expecting Bruce to turn up any minute with Bat and the army to avenge his 'real' son, not quite sure whether he will fight Bruce if it comes to that point given he's convinced he deserves what he gets now.
Dick, pale and gaunt, looking a bit like something that climbed out of a grave even to a more impartial observer, maybe a bit out of it from the poison and/or infected wounds.
Jason is seeing his brother's ghost haunting him, pleading with him to spare the kid, spare their dad...
I mean the illusion wouldn’t be able to hold up very long unless Dick finds a way to stay hidden from the dragons and all the other people.
But dang Jason would regret everything so much so quickly because he never wanted Dick to die in the first place. Not really. And now thinking he’s being haunted? For the sake of the Replacement? For the sake of Bruce? Ouch.

Time to expose myself as a dragon girl. Edling httyd/rtte au be upon ye!!! Happy new year!!!
This art is pretty representative of my growth as an artist this year, given I officially started my art journey January 2024! It's insanely wild how much I've grown and improved since then; comparing this version to my very first doodles for au is uh... very illuminating, to say the least.
Close-ups and au lore under the cut as always, and thank you to everyone who's supported me the past year! <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starting off with our main cast and their dragons! We've got:
Ling -> Lan Fan (albino night fury) ♀️
Ed -> Sunbane (deadly nadder) ♀️
Al -> Socks (prickleboggle) ♂️
Winry -> Sledge (egg biter) ♂️
Paninya -> Rumble & Tumble (hideous zippleback) ♂️
Russell -> Victoria (devilish dervin) ♀️
Most of the gang are from the diverse village of Xing, but the Resembool trio are sanctuary-seekers after a violent dragon raid destroyed Resembool when they were kids and the Rockbells and Trisha died in the aftermath. Winry still had Granny to raise her in their new home of Xing, but Ed & Al, alone, were adopted by the Curtises. They regard Izumi as their mother over the years and eventually take on her family name at 16 (hyphenated. Elric-Curtis) and get her creed tattooed at 18.
Ling is technically the heir to Xing's Chiefdom, but he has no actual interest in the position, not like Mei does. She might be his younger half-sister but she's more commonly regarded as the "heir". This allows Ling the freedom to fuck off to the Edge without consequences lmao.
(He doesn't lose a leg in this au so much as he gets horribly scarred by the fire on his arms; Lan Fan still loses a tailfin. Ed loses his leg protecting Al from a wild dragon as kids.)
Now, as for the dragon hunters... those are obv the homunculi.
Envy serves as early stage Dagur; Greed is INTRODUCED as Ryker, kidnapping Sunbane from Ed and everything (great first impression there), but later becomes post-redemption Dagur thanks to proving his trustworthiness to Ed in "Enemy of my Enemy"; Lust serves as Heather, Greed's sister and Ed's close friend; and Bradley is Viggo, matching Ling's wits in an eerie parallel that steadily tests Ling's temperance.
(Greed and Lust relatively match the gang's ages. Lust was 19 when she met the 16 y/o gang; she never made any advances like Heather, but she was still sus enough that Ed disliked her at first. Envy's—the same age as the gang probably, tbh, given their whole asshole energy. Bradley's still old tho. Ha.)
Team Mustang come in as the Defenders of the Wing, the Riders' first allies, and the Wing Maidens... are the Wing Maidens. Honestly, they're exactly the same but Rose and Noah are part of them lmao. Ed particularly takes a liking to them, because they serve as his genderqueer awakening! He realizes during "Snotlout's Angels", while posing as a woman to save Russell's ass from becoming sacred soup, that he doesn't mind being perceived as a woman and being called she/her. He still personally perceives himself as a man and as he/him, but if his friends want to use she/her? Call him a woman? Call a friendly "have fun, ladies!" at his, Rose, and Noah's collective backs? He doesn't mind at all.
Russell is weird about it at first but mostly out of ignorance. For all his jackassery, he is still a friend and does his (awkward) best to understand Ed's deal. He's also def dealing with unrequited feelings for Ed.
(Mustang is also weird about this, but that's just because he's old and very very confused with the youth. The rest of the team sans Hawkeye is quite fond of calling Ed "little lady" [akin to their canon "boss"] in light of his new gender expression though, and Ed is actually pretty pleased by the nickname. A rare instance where a "short" synonym doesn't irk him.)
Despite his status as a Rider, Ed's actually still pretty distrustful of wild dragons; they did still cause the loss of his leg as a kid. Nevertheless, he's always the first to support Ling in his crazy dragon training endeavors. He carries Izumi's spear as his favored weapon, handed down to him as a gift for dragon killing training initially. He also used to carry a basic but beloved knife that he sadly loses during an episode. Ling makes up for this loss by making his betrothal gift a knife, knowing Ed would prefer a practical gift in the first place.
He forges it himself, as Fu's old apprentice and now a capable blacksmith of his own. He was always capable, technically, but he was also pretty often distracted by his big fat crush on Ed when they were kids, so... he's got a few accidents on public record. This laughably leads to Ed randomly being banned from the forge sometimes just so Ling can focus on his work. Context that is not given to Ed until years later when he and Ed are courting.
And, speaking of courting! Ed used to wear Trisha's kransen as a kid, uncaring that it was "for girls" (insert transfemme egg meme) and that he was judged for it. It was his mothers so he was gonna wear it, damn it. Ling was one of the rare few to never judge Ed for this. When Ed loses his kransen to Envy or sth in a Riders of Berk episode, Ling secretly goes through hell to get it back for him. When he hands it back to Ed, he asks no explanation as to why Ed "cares so much about a girl's accessory" (*cough* Russell *cough*), and simply says, if it's important to Ed then that's all he needs to know.
Ling, oblivious mf that he is, is shocked when he earns a spontaneous hug for this trouble.
Ed later takes to wearing the kransen just around his wrist. He says it's because he's much more confident in his place in Xing now, but he never mentions that it's partially cuz... he feels whatever he has with Ling doesn't really count as "unmarried" anymore.
But Ling doesn't need to know that for a long, long time.
Ed and Russell are basically a one-to-one of Astrid and Snotlout, only Russell is a little less of a dickhead than Riders of Berk Snotlout; he puts his foot in his mouth cuz he's a dumb teenager with a dumb unrequited crush. He and Ed generally refer to each other by last name (friendly rivalry and all), but they've been known to use first names in genuine moments. Russell also notably asks if Ed would like to be called by "Curtis" after he takes on Izumi's name, at which Ed shakes his head and says it's fine to keep things as they are between them.
They've come a long way since their relationship in "Fright of Passage", when Russell, like Snotlout, initially took free jabs at Ed's family name because everyone knows the story of when Izumi Curtis froze against the Flightmare. Izumi's long gotten over those rumors, but Ed was determined to regain her honor and predictably lost his temper with Russell at that comment. That was largely their relationship before Russell got his shit together.
Ed and Al are often confused for twins by the hunters, and they're close as ever on the daily. However, their biggest fight happens when they discover that Hohenheim made the Dragon Eye. Ed and Al have two different reactions at this news: Al is astounded that Hoho was a hunter and is disappointed at the fact... and Ed couldn't care less. Ex-hunter or not, the guy is still a deadbeat.
Al is of a much more forgiving opinion of Hoho, having been two years younger than Ed and thus remembering less of the man who abandoned them and their mother.
They get into an argument over this. The entire gang is stunned.
The fight is bad enough that, in "A Ruff Transition", when a baby razorwhip (Moonshade!! <3) takes a liking to Ed on Wing Maiden Island and he has to train her for a bit, the gang actually wonders if Ed will abandon them for the Maidens. Since he seemed to have so much fun with Rose, Noah, and the rest, nothing like his previous anger and stress after his and Al's fight.
Ling is the only one who doesn't think this, reassuring them calmly that Ed just needs time to cool down and have fun. And he's proven correct! Ed's hurt to discover the gang had doubted him so easily, but Ling hadn't, and the aftermath of that episode leaves things between Ed and co. (sans Ling) a little strained until Al can apologize.
(Moonshade later tracks down Ed in a separate future episode, and she becomes a resident of the Edge, much to the male Riders' initial misfortune lmao.)
Aaaaand that's where my notes weirdly end. I've got a ton more "episode" ideas but that's all the coherent stuff. Bless you if you read this far. As a treat, have a useless fun fact: Ed's dragon names are all based on poisons. Sunbane -> henbane, and Moonshade -> nightshade. Winry's dragon name is an obv pun about sledgehammers, Al's name is a repurposed cat one, yes the gang makes fun of him for this, and Russell just likes classic names and Victoria is a classy name for a classy lady, Elric, can it.
Ling just made the obv canon cold rice pun lmao.

✨ PERMANENT STARTER CALL 🗡️
for Flynn Rider (Darren Barnet / Tangled / Active) A study in: charm as survival, stolen crowns, and love that makes you choose the better version of yourself.
By liking or commenting on this post, you’re giving me permission to:
➤ Tag you in starters — castle rooftops under moonlight, tavern brawls that escalate quickly, or impromptu escapes through secret passageways ➤ Send headcanons, chaotic mid-heist updates, stolen trinket deliveries, and the kind of notes that end with “don’t wait up” ➤ Build dynamics like: unlikely partners in crime, “I’m not falling for you” tension, banter-laced friendship, or that slow shift from running to staying ➤ Tag you in things that feel like Flynn: scribbled maps on napkins, flirtation as a defense mechanism, overpacked satchels, and the kind of laughter that makes people forget who they used to be ➤ Explore themes of identity, reinvention, longing for something real, and the fear of letting someone see the man behind the smirk ➤ Develop ships (romantic, platonic, complicated) built on trust earned the hard way, adventure-for-two energy, shared bedrolls, and moments where the charm drops and the truth sneaks in ➤ Let our muses find each other in markets, wanted posters, locked towers, or anywhere that feels like the start of a very bad idea (or the best one)
Flynn Rider doesn’t always do the right thing. But he will show up, sword in hand and heart on the line, when it matters—especially if it’s for someone who sees past the legend.
If your muse needs someone to make trouble with, run toward wonder with, or maybe just sit beside and stay… The smolder’s already aimed in your direction.
