authors note: ive honestly missed writing for oscar and priv!reader so we are back in honor of oscars FIRST EVER WIN AND INCREDIBLE SPRINT RACE!! im genuinely so proud of oscar and im honestly in shock. i also follow ZERO wag pages so i have no clue what they are like, if people actually follow them etc.

Summary- Reader gets Injured in a away match against Tottenham and Katie and Viv go into protective mode

Today was the game against Tottenham, unfortunately it was an away game so we had to travel up to The Hive Stadium for the game.

As me and Viv are talking about the game that’s happening in a few hours while walking to the coach Katie yells

“Wait up!” To us as she runs up to me and Viv, she quickly catches up to me and Viv and I say

“Hello Katie” while turning to her

Viv does the same and says “Hi Katie” with a smile on her face god I love her smile. We continue walking to the coach and when we reach it Katie asks

“You guys seen Caitlin?”

“Yeah she’s just behind Stina and Cloe” Viv replies cheerily Katie quickly pushes through us and runs to her girlfriend while we walk up the steps to the coach

Viv turns to me and says “God she’s whipped” while turning back to Katie intently watching Caitlin with a wide smile on her face, I agree with her and we then walk to the back of the coach to sit together while holding hands.

I lean my head on her shoulder and she whispers “You tired baby?” I nod into her neck and she quietly chuckles and says “Go to sleep my Schatje” while running her hands through my hair

3 hours later

“Schatje wake up” Viv says while softly kissing my forehead

“Five more minutes” I mumble while shoving my head further into her neck

“Liefde we have to get off the coach and get ready for the game” I reluctantly get up from my chair. Viv happily grabs my hand and drags me off the coach, as soon as we leave the coach Katie turns around and says

“Keep it PG” while side eyeing me and Viv

“Katie we are literally just holding hands” I said while groaning

“Still, you don’t know what that can lead to” Katie then runs up to catch up with Caitlin

I groan into Viv’s neck and say “God I’m sick of her”

Viv chuckles and says “She’s only joking babe”

“I know but it doesn’t make it any less annoying”

We quickly rush into the stadium and get ready for the game.

30 minutes later

Before the game starts we have to warm up, luckily me and Viv are both starting so we get to warm together with the team.

The trainers inform us that we need to get in to pairs for the drills. The drills consisted of 1 touch passing and crossing balls to eachother along with penalty kicks.

15 minutes later

15 minutes later we are lining up getting ready to walk out for the game.

Viv is standing behind me massaging my shoulders and whispers in my ear “let’s win this baby”

Kim then yells to us “let’s win this ladies!” And then we walk out and line up, we shake hands with the opposing team, take our team photo and then run to our positions. As a midfielder me and Viv link up beautifully, I send her long balls and she skilfully gets through the back line and scores.

The ref blows the whistle which indicates that the game has started. Straight away Caitlin passes the ball to me and I run it foward with my teammates by my side, as I’m about to cross it into the penalty box I get harshly tackled by a Tottenham player which sends me to the ground immediately, as soon as I hit the ground my teammates are by my side, well all but two are. I look down at my ankle and it’s bleeding I look back up and I can see that Viv and Katie are screaming at the ref to give the Tottenham player a card and how it clearly wasn’t a fair tackle.

“You alright y/n?” Leah asks me worriedly

“No, I don’t think I can play anymore. I’m going to have to get subbed off”

As I’m saying this I can hear Katie and Viv in the background, I can’t hear it very well, but by what I did hear both Katie and Viv got a yellow card for foul language and almost getting into a fight with Tottenham.

Kim quickly pulls them away from the ref and the Tottenham players and they quickly run over to me.

Viv and Katie crouch down my side immediately and Viv asks “Are you okay, I’m sorry for not coming here straight away I was just angry”

I reply “Don’t worry about it, I am going to have to get subbed off though. My ankle is killing me”

Katie is still death staring the ref but that doesn’t mean she isn’t listening intently and Viv is just giving me a soft look while rubbing my hand. Katie quickly kisses my head and Viv kisses my hand while Stina singles to Jonas we need to sub me off. Viv and Katie help me off the pitch and then they get back into there positions and Victoria Pelova takes my place.

I get escorted to the medical room by the medics, luckily it has a tv so I can still watch the game while the doctors check up on me. After some check ups and tests the doctors inform me that nothing serious is wrong with my ankle and I should just rest it for 2 weeks with ice.

As I’m watching the tv with the game on it I see Viv score and absolute banger of a goal and as her celebration she blows a kiss towards the camera which brings a smile to my face.

25 minutes later

25 Minutes later it’s half time and Arsenal is up by 3.

Viv and Katie quickly come into the medical room and rush to my side, Viv on my left and Katie on my right instantly Vivs hands grab my own and Katie is rubbing my leg asking if I’m okay and what the doctors said.

“The doctors said I’m okay and it’s nothing to serious I just have to rest if for 2 weeks and ice it twice a day to reduce inflammation and I have to strap it”

“That’s good, we are glad that your okay” Katie replies while smiling at me while still rubbing my leg softly.

Viv then says “Did they say you can walk?”

“Yes”

“No”

“Wait what do you mean no? The doctors said I could and just not to put to much pressure on it”

“No, I’m carrying you everywhere”

Katie just looks at me and Viv and laughs while saying “yeah I agree with Viv, your not allowed to walk anymore. Don’t want to injure yourself even more”

“Wha- I- how is that fair? The doctors said I could and they are professionals. I don’t think you two are professionals are you?”

Before the two could retaliate Leah comes in to inform us that the game starts again in 10 minutes and they need to discuss tactics

Before I could say anything Viv kisses me on the head and mumbles a “Goodbye, love you see you in a bit” while Katie just messes up my hair and walks away with Viv and Leah

I lay back on the medical bed and sigh and pull out my phone to inform my parents about my injury and I’m totally not searching up Vivianne miedema edits on tiktok instead of texting my parents

13 minutes later and Viv scores another banger of a goal and not even 2 minutes later Steph chips the ball over the keepers head and scores which makes Arsenal up by 5 to 0

30 minutes later

The game has finished and arsenal have won 7 to 0 a hat trick by the one and only Vivianne Miedema a chip by Catley an absolute banger from McCabe scoring from just over halfway in the oppositions side along with Kim little scoring a penalty due to a handball and a wonderful stoppage time goal by Caitlin Foord.

Before I can even process it the whole team comes into the medical room dancing and singing and all I can do is just sit there laughing and enjoying my time with my Arsenal family, after a bit it dies down and Jordan quickly asks

“Y/n are you going to be okay?”

“Yeah I’m going to be oka-”

Before I can finish my sentence Viv quickly cuts in and says “No she isn’t she’s going to be bed ridden and is not leaving the house for a month”

“Excuse me what? I’m not leaving the house for a month? Your actually joking? You can’t be serious”

“Just taking precautions baby” Viv says while looking at me cheerily and all I can’t do is just groan and lean further into the medical bed

“Someone’s a bit grumpy”

“Shut up McCard”

“Rude”

While me and my sister are arguing I don’t realise it but she leaves and comes back with a wheelchair and I’m brought out of my argument with my sister when I realise what Viv has in her grasp, Katie pisses herself laughing and so do the rest of the girls.

“Okay darling let’s go”

“Viv please, are you joking? I dont Need a wheelchair. Your acting like my leg got amputated or something” all the girls still continue laughing

“It’s not funny, i don’t know why your all laughing right now”

Viv brings the wheelchair next to your bed with a wide smile “Viv please tell me your joking right now, I don’t need a wheelchair” the girls exit the room getting ready to leave to go home.

Viv picks me up from under my thighs and whispers in my ear “let’s go baby” and puts my in the wheelchair and pushes the door to the exit of the medical room open and we leave together heading for the exit of the stadium to the car.

Viv quickly unlocks the car, picks me up from the wheelchair and plops me into the passenger sit of the car and puts the wheelchair in the trunk and she then goes to her side if the car to start it.

“You ready to go baby?” Viv asks cheerily

“Yeah, let’s go”

Viv starts the car and immediately puts one hand on my thigh and for the rest of the ride that is where her hand stays.

After a while I fall asleep knowing it’s going to be a long ride and we will get there in an hour or two

2 hours later

“N/n, it’s time to wake up. We are home” Viv whispers in my ear while softly shaking me. I slowly open my eyes and let them adjust to the lighting of the car.

Viv unbuckles her seatbelt, turns off the car and opens her door and comes to my side of the car to open my door and undoes my seatbelt and picks me up from under my thighs, I quickly shove my head further into her neck and whisper

“I’m tired” sleepily. She quickly locks the car while whispering in my head “I know my darling” and walks is to the front door of our house and unlocks it. She pushes the door open with her foot walks in our home and closes the door behind her. She places me on the couch I groan and she says

“I’ll be back in 2 minutes baby I’m gonna run a bath for you” while running her fingers through my hair.

She quickly goes up stairs and starts a bath for me and quickly comes back to take me to the bath.

She places me on the bench next to the sink and gives me a kiss on my forehead and I smile contently.

She take off my shoes along with my socks and the rest of my clothes and makes sure the bath is warm before she places me inside.

She picks me up and places me in the bath and washes my body and my hair, after a while she takes me out and dries me off with a towel, dries my hair and dresses me. She then brings me to the bed and gives me a kiss on the cheek and says

“I’ll be back in 15 minutes love, I just have to have a shower” I groan and reply “hurry up, I want my cuddles” grumpily.

She chuckles and grabs her clothes from our shared closet and enters our bathroom to shower.

She emerges 17 minutes later with fresh clothes and freshly washed hair.

Viv walks over to our shared bed, lifts up the blankets and lays down next to me I instantly lean into her and whisper “you lied”

“About what love?” She asks in a concerned way

“You took longer then 15 minutes. Liar” Viv just chuckles and runs her hair through my hair once again and says

“How can I make it up to you my love”

“You have to give me a kiss and then I’ll maybe forgive you if the kiss is good enough” I reply smugly

She lifts up my head from my chin and slowly leans into bringing her lips to my own she kisses ne slow and sensually. Unfortunately after a while we have to part for air

“Was that good enough my love” I lean myself into her neck while she chuckles I whisper

“Yes, it was perfect”

“Good, only the best for you my love”

I sigh and whisper “goodnight, I love you so much”

“I love you too baby, more then you’ll ever know”

We then fall asleep peacefully together dreaming of eachother.

WHAT I'VE MANIFESTED

So this list is going to be very long (I don't even remember more than half of the things I manifested tbh) as I've been manifesting from the past 3 years and i didn't manifest occasionally lol, I did it on daily basis and still do it.

I bet my kidneys that after reading this, you'll believe in the law of assumption. So sit the fuck down and read.

1. So, I love dancing and i really wanted to participate in this function organised by my school but my medical report came out very bad and my teachers and even the vice principal was against my decision (of dancing). So they strictly rejected me. I cried for hours but then I realised that I can just manifest 🤨☝️so i fucking did. I asked my mom if i could do that medical test again and I ended up doing it and the report came out good. And guess what? YOUR GURL 💅 ENDED UP DANCING💃 RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PRINCIPAL'S FACE 🤭

2. Manifested bigger boobs 🤭🫣

3. So not long ago, my city was severely polluted and schools (only primary) were closed but pollution makes me kind of sick too 🙁 so I was like bitch, your descision doesn't matter 🖐️ and guess what? 💆

5. Manifested a thigh gap long ago but I was so stupid to manifest that omg 😟 bUT now I manifested thunder thighs 🤭

10. OMG GUYS IDK HOW I ALMOST FORGOT THIS ONE!! So my dad is very strict and he never allowed me to go on picnics but this time i thought I'll just manifest it. And my mom said, "this time it won't work" 😟 (because my health was worst in the past months and long story short, i would faint out of nowhere for too long) BUT GUYS, your gurl persisted and it MANIFESTED!!! 🤭🤭🤭

11. So for the picnic, i really wanted this specific shorts but i couldn't find them anywhere like ughh. I was so frustrated but then I manifested it in minutes 🥴

12. Food because I LOVE FOOD 🥺🫶

13. Manifested a cute traditional dress. Almost all of the shops were out of it and I was so sad 😟 because I've always wanted it then i thought like "why be sad when I can just manifest?" 🥸☝️ AND GUYS I FOUND THE EXACT SAME DRESS I WANTED (FROM TEXTURE TO COLOUR) WITHIN MINUTESSSSS 🥴

14. Manifested my mom to allow me to hangout with my bff 🤭 because your gurl's parents are very strict 😟

Wrecker, who playfully bumps into his helmet, nearly knocks Tech off balance. Tech glares angrily at his brother through the lenses of his goggles, but finally sighs and turns back to his holopad. Again and again, his gaze sneaks from his holopad to you, watching Hunter talk to you. Today, you and Tech are to complete a mission, just the two of you. A more or less simple exploration tour. His heart beats faster just thinking about it. You've been traveling with CF99 for a while now, and Tech has had a crush on you practically since day one. You smell good, you're pretty, you're curious, and you always listen to him so intently. He's been blown away from the beginning by your little laugh, the smile, the way you talk, how your fingers move when you're lost in your thoughts. Tech takes in so many little things, by now he knows so much about you, so many wonderful little things that he admires, almost idolizes. But as straightforward and logical as Tech actually is, he can be just as shy.

He hardly dares to exchange a word with you that has nothing to do with work, he hardly dares to look you in the face. So often he has dreamed of you, of touching, kissing and even more, things that have done wild things to his mind and hormones. But he can't bring himself to do it, just doesn't dare touch you. So many times he had been close to just gently touching your hand, or sliding a little closer when you were sitting next to each other, but each time he has backed down. Tech wouldn't know how to deal with you, in theory he's already read everything there is to know about intimacy, romance and the like, but the practice is somehow so damn seductive but also so incredibly scary for him. What if you reject him? What if he kisses you, and it's bad? What if you feel nothing when he kisses you? What if his touches leave you cold? What if he does something wrong, scares you away, or leaves you unsatisfied? With all these questions, his guts tighten, and a heavy pressure builds on his chest. This is a challenge that can't necessarily be tackled with logic. Love doesn't really feel logical, but it feels intense, Tech thinks silently. Another light bump against Tech's helmet snaps him out of his thoughts.

"Cut it out, Wrecker!" "Come on, you two finally alone again? This time you have some guts!" the giant rumbles. Tech hastily glances over at you, but you're still engaged in conversation with Hunter, then he looks at Wrecker and nervously waves his holopad around. "Keep it down, Wrecker, she can't hear this!" he whispers energetically. Wrecker rolls his eyes and laughs softly, "You're way too nervous, I think she likes you a lot too" Tech pauses in his tense movement and asks, "Oh yeah, did she say anything?" "No, but that one particular smile, she only smiles at you like that". Tech's gaze darts back in your direction and that's when he sees it, that smile, his face gets all hot, and he hastily turns back to the holopad in his hands. "You're such an idiot," Wrecker grumbles, "She's smiling heavenly at you, and you're staring at your holopad" "Shut up, please, Wrecker," Tech says tensely.

The others are on their way, doing their jobs. Tech is finally alone with you. His knees are soft, he feels slightly shaky, and his pulse is permanently slightly elevated, but he's more in control than he suspected. Tech puts on the helmet he customized for you and says, "This helmet has an air filter, just like mine. We don't know what to expect yet, so we'll play it safe." He explains as you look at him questioningly through the visor. He can't really see your face, but he always senses when you look at him. Actually he is annoyed about the helmet, just because he can't see your beautiful face, but Tech also wants to protect you and when you are moving among unknown flora and fauna, this helmet is actually indispensable. "Okay," you say, groping for the helmet with both hands, an unfamiliar feeling. "Don't take the helmet off outside, please," Tech says gently but firmly, "We don't know much about the plants and animals in the area yet" You give him a thumbs up and say, "Okay, got it. We're good to go as far as I'm concerned" Along the way, you carefully take some samples of various plants, take holo-images of the environment, and look at various species of animals from a safe distance. You listen with fascination as Tech comments on some of your observations. It's so nice to spend time alone with him, you like the way he looks out for you.

You discover a cave that is riddled with glowing crystals and mushrooms. You put on your gloves because Tech told you to. "We'd better not touch anything with our bare hands for now," he notes. You nod and reply, "Sounds reasonable." With a gloved finger, you poke a neon-red glowing, thick mushroom, which then begins to blink and emit a thin cloud of spores. Tech leans over and says, "See, this is why we have the helmets, we don't know what these spores might do, hallucinations, fevers, toxic reactions..." You nod and say still intrigued, "It's blinking, like an alarm light" "Indeed" Tech looks at his watch and says, "We've been walking for a few hours, maybe we should head back" With a nod, you agree and follow him out of the cave.

Something is wrong, he is way too warm, the outside temperatures are not that high, but his body temperature seems to keep rising. He feels strange, maybe Wrecker knocked his helmet a few too many times, maybe his filter wasn't working properly. Tech quickened his steps, and you tried to keep up with him in surprise. Arriving at the Marauder, Tech takes off his helmet, and you can tell something is wrong, the expression on his face, that slightly glazed look. "Are you okay?" "I don't know," Tech admits, "I'm very warm, and I have a headache." He blinks in surprise as you start to help him take off his gear, but he allows it to happen, he also lets you push him into his bunk and tuck him in. "You must be overworked," you say gently, "You're always working, around the clock. At some point, your body just can't keep up with your mind, Tech." He blinks, accepts the water you brought him, and says, "Maybe you're right." He likes the way you take care of him, fluffing his pillow, covering him up, bringing him water and putting a cool, damp cloth on his forehead. He feels miserable right now, but he literally melts at every little thing you do for him.

You had to remind yourself to look away from your phone screen and watch for passing cars as you passed the walkway. Hastily unlocking your car, you slid inside and locked the door after you and picked up your phone.

With ease, you withdrew enough for you to do another quick scan over her body. “Are you hurt bad?” You grasped her shoulders with a hand, the other reaching up to cup her wet cheeks. “Does it hurt anywhere?”

Your questions only sent Jolyne into another sob, breaking into tears the second you showed your extreme concerns. “I-I’m fine, but appa-”

You paused. “What… What happened to him?”

“He protected me, my friends, b-but…” She furiously swiped at her eyes despite her sobs. “He’s injured the most. He was bleeding everywhere and now-”

You kept yourself as calm as possible, even if you were on the brink of collapsing yourself. “Where is he?” Jolyne pointed to the double doors leading to the operating room.

Your heart caved in at the thought of your husband laying unconscious being worked on by surgeons and nurses to preserve his life. With a heavy and shaky sigh, you nodded as you willed yourself to not cry in front of your daughter.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t do better,” Jolyne cried. “I’m sorry for letting that stupid accident with that asshole happen that led to dad going through all this bullshit for me-”

You quieted her as you pulled her into another hug, softly caressing her head. “It’s not your fault, pearl,” you said with a whisper. She continued to sob as she buried her face on your shoulder. “Your father knows that too.”

Gently, you led your daughter to one of the benches and sat her down with you beside her. Considering you’d thought the worst before arriving at the Foundation, you looked at the closed double doors with a newfound sense of reassurance. Another sigh.

“Let’s just wait and hope for the best.”

The consistent beeping of his vitals echoed throughout the dimmed room and you were left alone with Jotaro, still unconscious with half of his face heavily bandaged together with his throat, an oxygen mask fit on his nose and mouth.

Jolyne visited minutes earlier and told you that she’d be checking with how her other friends were doing.

An hour ago, you and Jolyne stood up immediately as soon as the surgeon stepped through the swinging doors. To everyone’s relief, they managed to stabilize him from his critical state.

According to him, your husband had a pre-existing heart condition that caused his pulse rate to beat at irregular, rapid intervals. Combined with the knowledge of him having to exert excessive strength despite waking up from a comatose state and the heavy amount of stress piling up the past few months, his body had chosen to shut down the second his adrenaline depleted.

Thinking about that again made you scoff through your tears. “You were always an impulsive idiot…” Saying those words caused your eyes to swell again and sniffle.

But what’s done was done. The doctors did what they could and all you can do was to sit beside him, holding his hand with both of yours, praying that he’d recover faster, enough for him to wake up and calm your worrying heart.

Without realizing, you ended up falling asleep still sat on your chair by his bed. You didn’t know how long time has passed in your slumber and you couldn’t be bothered to find out. All that mattered right now was staying by your husband’s side, letting him know, in spirit perhaps, that he wasn’t alone and that you were with him now.

In a way you couldn’t perceive, you somehow felt like he was comforting you as well. A comforting chill would brush against your cheeks, hair, shoulders, or hands and you welcomed the sensation like an old friend.

Eventually, time would pass from mere hours to days and throughout it all, you continued to stay where you were- always making sure to watch over him with persisting hope.

Today marked the 15th day since his admission in the Foundation’s infirmary ward. His fresh bandages still wrapped around the half of his face and throat. His assistive oxygenation was removed the week prior once his vitals stabilized within normal range.

By now, you stayed so much in the medical room that your responsibilities started to catch up as evident with the numerous phone calls and text messages alerting you from your pocket. You figured you’d answer a few and explain the circumstances surrounding you and your family.

That time, you stood by the window hoping to receive better signal. You were in the middle of arguing with a non-compliant employee that worked under your supervision, and through their whining in the speaker, you picked up the sheets shifting behind you.

On that cue, you turned around with supposed foolish hope but in clear daylight, there he was- stirring into consciousness, brows furrowing and scrunching as his eye slowly opened.

You never hung up on someone this fast before but you dropped whatever conversation you had and rushed over to Jotaro’s side, immediately reaching to grasp his hand. It took him a bit to adjust to the natural light, but he lolled his head to you and locked eye contact with you.

You exhaled a shaky breath. “Jotaro-ssi?” With a weak baritone voice, he croaked back your name with instant familiarity. Your eyes welled with new tears. Right then and there, he grunted as he struggled to prop himself upright. “W-What are you doing? You just woke up. You’re supposed to rest!”

At this point, you didn’t realize you started crying when you light-heartedly scolded him. You gripped his hand tight with frustration and relief, teardrops spilling onto your skin. He’s awake. Thank god he’s awake. “Do you know how much of an idiot you are?! I told you you shouldn’t jump into dangerous situations so recklessly! And now look at you! You should be taking your time and recover lying down and here you are forcing yourself to sit! You really are an idiot-”

“I missed you.”

Your heart skipped a beat and whatever ramble you had left trailed off into the thin air. Jotaro sat there patiently, watching you wistfully with hooded eyes. In your hand, he turned his palm upwards and interlocked his fingers with yours. He had that usual air of stoicism in his expression, but there was no mistaking the wet sheen glossing over his aquamarine eyes.

That was all it took for you to break into a sob as you gently wrapped your arms around him in a soft embrace. You felt him tuck his face against the crook of your neck, his tears pooling on your skin in silence. “Next time, tell me at least. Alright?”

“Mm…”

“Don’t scare me like that again, you hear?”

“I’m sorry…”

“You ass.”

It’s been 6 months since then and after the chaos had settled across the nation, the Kujos returned to their seaside villa, settling in for the time being to adjust to the new life after the time phenomenon.

Slowly but surely, every member of the family began to live their lives the way they wanted to- Jolyne would often leave the house to hang out with her best friend Ermes and potential boyfriend Anasui, one day bringing home a kid in baseball uniform named Emporio waiting to be adopted into the family, you returned to work to help the other agents in the Foundation, and Jotaro begun to resume teaching in university, choosing to take a break from field research to give him time to rest.

And considering the stress of the whole Stand ordeal they had dealt with since they were 17, you could get used to a mundane life like this.

The early morning sun beamed a warm orange, filtered through the curtains before it could touch both you and your husband. You opened your eyes to find yourself side-lying on his arm to face a still-sleeping Jotaro, tucked bare-chested underneath the sheets with his face mushed against the pillows

You huffed and snuggled closer, nuzzling to bury your nose on the crook of his neck. With a feather-light touch, you raised an index finger to gingerly trace the faded scar across his throat, the shallow dents across his collarbone, the scar on his left shoulder, and the one on his abdomen. One-by-one, you took the time to feel the skin of each in contrast to the rest. “You’ve been through so much…”

He stirred possibly from your tiny motions and soon enough, the arm you lied on curled in to pull you into his hold.

You couldn’t help but giggle as you looked up to see your husband glance at you with sleep-ridden eyes. You propped yourself on his chest and with your chin planted on your overlapped hands flat on his pecs, you whispered out a simple, intentionally-cute “Good morning~”

Jotaro smiled back. “Morning.”

“Break day?”

He nodded.

Life never felt so ordinary after what had happened but you could get used to this. Where every moment in this new era, they could live out the rest of their lives as a normal couple with a normal family.

And what’s a better way to start their new lives but with the domesticity of a newlywed pair.

Both you and Jotaro started the day accomplishing your morning routines- you in the bathroom washing up, he on the balcony to simply soak in the early morning sun. You made your way to the dining area where he stood by waiting for you with two steaming mugs of coffee in his hands. You took one, returned the favor with a chaste peck on his cheek, and went over to cook breakfast for the family.

On cue with the smell of bacon and eggs permeating throughout the house, two pairs of footsteps bounded down the stairs and barged into the area.

“Well good morning to you too Jolyne,” you glanced at her companion with a smile. “Emporio.”

“Going out again?” Jotaro said, glancing at the duo. “This early?”

“Ermes is gonna go shopping for the new line of clothes that got released yesterday. She invited me and Emporio over saying it’s going to be ‘her treat’, but I know she’s lying,” Jolyne said, picking up a toast from her plate and another to offer her adopted brother.

“Is that pink-haired guy going?”

“His name’s Anasui dad and no, he’s not going,” she puffed her chest. “It’s girl’s day out today.” You and Jotaro looked at the blond boy beside her. “He’s not tagging along. I’m just dropping off Emporio at the nearby bookstore on the way out.”

“And I can find my way back no problem,” Emporio said as the teenager slowly pulled him with her to the door. “I won’t take too long.”

Jotaro still had his doubts from where he was on his seat, but knowing your little girl was able to survive a life of imprisonment and was able to get around the harsh facility, you smiled at her. “Alright. Be back by 9!”

“I will!”

Once the duo were out of sight, you and Jotaro were left alone to themselves. “Nothing like seeing your kids all grown up, huh?” You said as you took a bite of your eggs. He hummed a sound of acknowledgment. “But that just means we have the day to ourselves.”

At that, your husband couldn’t help but smile.

And just as you said, the rest of today consisted of simply staying indoors and “hanging-out” with each other in a life of old-couple domesticity. You cooked the meals and he washed the dishes. You did the laundry and he helped in folding them. You dusted the shelves and he vacuumed the floors. You picked today’s playlist to listen while doing chores and he chose what movie to watch.

Then there were instances in-between chores where either of you can’t help but hover close to one another, seeking each other’s touch and affections. May it be when you’re cooking and Jotaro passes by stealing a piece of sliced vegetable, you sneaking behind to pat his ass when he’s drying the plates, him momentarily resting his chin on your head as you wait for the washing machine to finish, him offering you a glass of water in the middle of dusting, or ending up in a never-ending banter over genres of media.

By the time they finished everything, including the short time freshening up, the afternoon began its transition to night as the skies changed its hue from blue to orange.

You shared one look with your husband and with one wistful stare, he rose a hand to you and you held it. With no worries plaguing your mind, you and Jotaro slowly walked down the stairs to the coast, hand-in-hand. A gentle breeze blew a strand of hair across your face and before you could, he tucked it behind your ear.

Both of you walked across the sand until you stopped a few meters away from the gentle waves.

Jotaro took the initiative to break apart from you, only to step behind and engulf your body with his long coat with his hands still in its pockets. You smiled and leaned back against his chest, closing your eyes as you do so.

For a few minutes, the couple simply stood by, basking in the ambiance- the refreshing sea breeze against your skin, the soothing crash of waves, the birds chirping above. The sea was your comfort place after all, and it was his too. Despite it being months later, you cherished every calm walk such as this as if it was the last.

You’ve never felt at peace this much. It was so nice.

“23 years…” You glanced up at Jotaro when he spoke. “For 23 years of us knowing each other, finally… Finally we can just live like this.”

You chuckled. “Makes it seem like we’ve just been married and this is our honeymoon even though it’s been years.”

“We’ve been fighting the world for most of our lives. Is it strange that until now, I’m still not used to this kind of ‘quiet’? As if I’m cautious that someone could appear at any moment?”

You shook your head, your gaze drifting to the horizon as you thought of your next words. “It’s not. It’ll take some time for us to adjust to this new normal. For all our habitual anxiety to disappear. Hell, it might not go away entirely.”

“But I can assure you this-”

You stepped out of his coat and turned to face him. From this angle, you looked at Jotaro with a smile bearing all the gooey fondness you had in your heart. Gingerly, you rose a hand to his face and with tender care, traced the vertical scar lining the right side of his face. From the top of his brow, down to his blind eye, until your fingers stopped at the bold line of his jaw.

Only then, your hand returned to cup his cheek with your thumb stroking the smooth line of his scar. “Whatever may happens next, I’ll be there with you. Work, people, lingering Stand users… I’ll stay by your side, hm?”

With hooded eyes, Jotaro leaned against your palm and laid his hand over yours. “I can’t say much to change your mind anyways.” He huffed. “You were always so stubborn.”

You chuckled. “You’re not wrong.”

Getting on to your tiptoes, you planted a soft kiss over his cheek, nose, and his lips last, to which you lingered on for a second longer. Pulling away, you wrapped your arms around him and buried your face on his chest.

“Our lives are finally ours, starlight.”

You closed your eyes as you felt him tuck his chin on top of you, an arm wrapping around your waist, and a hand caressing the back of your head.

“Then let’s live them together, sunshine.”
