You know what has really grind my gears about this whole united health CEO thing? The commentary coming from the upper upper class. Like it is so beyond ironic I feel like they’re calling the average person stupid for possibly not sensing it. I don’t know why these political commentary channels feel they have authority over us. Like I completely get why they do, it’s the money that makes them feel morally and ethically superior to us but as someone who isn’t blinded by money I DONT GET WHY????
Like there is no no no way they are trying actually tell us how to react. Not only that but to throw in politics and years of turmoil on top of it, and you know they’re just doing that because they do not understand the feeling of being so desperate for help and having to beg for supplies and being denied over and over.
“We’re gonna lose our humanity” the fact you come from a place where your humanity can be peak discourse rather than focusing on your basic needs such as LIVING is peak privilege. Sure you can think about how your words have an effect and other philosophical issues but ummmm when you can’t get your insulin and your neighbor can’t get their chemo treatment then the thoughts of words and how they bring humanity is OUT THE WINDOW.
And who do you think you are to be telling any one person how to react to a siduation ever? Isn’t that part of being human? To come to your own conclusions and, as American culture loves to highlights, be an individual? What happened to we shouldn’t blindly follow each other’s opinions? This whole thing has really been so refreshing because you see people explain their reason through personal antidote and the upper class commentary channels take that and just? Throw it away?
Disgusting, selfish, greedy. YOU lost YOUR humanity. NOT the people being demanded morals and ethics from after experiencing a life of immoral and unethical decision made for them.

PSA:
As it becomes increasingly clear that Kamala Harris will be the Democratic candidate for President, we will no doubt be deluged with a new type of psyop known as information. Examples of information may include:
Her policy positions
Quotations she said and the context in which she said them
The impact of her decisions on other people's lives
Stay vigilant! Remember that if the information has not been properly vetted by the Harris campaign, it is not Official Propaganda and is not to be trusted!

This is why I'm side-eyeing people from the US who are only NOW acting like their world is being shattered lmao the racism and superiority came out real quick
(I am NOT talking about you if you already lost faith in US institutions way before. I was also not asking anyone to leave or do anything impossible. Literally just asked them to look more into the US' imperialist history)
Resources:
- Blowback (podcast, season 1 is about the Iraq War, season 2 is about US aggression against Cuba, season 3 is about the Korean War, season 4 is about Afghanistan, and season 5 is about Cambodia)

youre asking americans (people historically oppressed by the british) to actually care about the tiny nuances in your shitty accents and not make fun of you despite the fact that yall are, historically, the most oppressive people on the planet. do you hear yourself?
Hey so fun fact, classism isn’t okay no matter who you point it at ! I never said that the British Empire or the English royal family were not horrific colonial bloodthirsty pieces of shit. They are. Believe me, most English folk hate our own govt and royals just as much as the rest of you.
But there’s a difference between mocking the systems of power and the people in charge in this country who have colonized almost the entire planet and oppressed literally everyone they came into contact with and being a fucking asshole and punching at people who are ALSO being oppressed.
That’s the whole fucking point of the post! Do YOU hear yourself? Pull your head out of your ass and get some class consciousness maybe
Also “tiny nuances” mate, the nuances are fucking massive. You’re just an ignorant cunt.
@velvetvexations you’re an American, care to comment?

@annefrankwasbeautiful is a racist, antisemetic nazi bitch who should be blocked on sight, as well as seemingly illiterate, definitely brain-dead and just all around a lying cunt who gives Tumblr users a bad name through her shitty "keyboard warrior"-ism. Necessary reading, here, from the digital director of EveryLibrary. From the article:
"THIS IS NOT A GOOD-FAITH DISCUSSION
"The first thing we need to understand when we’re messaging about book bans is that we are not operating in a good-faith discussion, and we need to stop acting as if we were. In a good-faith discussion, both parties agree to an honest, respectful dialogue with the willingness to change their view if facts and data are presented. However, book banners are neither acting honestly nor respectfully. They will not consume new information and change their minds once educated on the issue. The individuals and organizations banning books are not looking to be educated. They don’t care about learning about the Miller Test for pornography, they are not interested in reading the books to put their propagandist images of a handful of pages into proper context, and they aren’t going to change their minds about books being banned. We have to stop acting as they will do any of these things.
"...Pro–book banning messaging and propaganda is used as a tool to build political power and influence for people and organizations to elect or appoint individuals to positions that allow them to govern and control Americans." [emphasis added]
They don't ban books because they care about books. They ban books because they are bullies, and they want to control people.
Don't let them.

so weird to see women try to find loopholes for 4B instead of supporting the women who are interested in it or even just ignoring it. but what if i date THIS man?? like girl no one is forcing you to join. you can fuck/marry/kill all the men you want, no one cares. seriously. no one cares. it's your life, do what you want.
#not every movement needs to be 100% inclusive.#no you can't be a part of 4B if you date/marry/have sex with/have children with men. so what?#what does that mean to you?#why does that bother you?#why does everything need to be catered to you?#can't you just support the women who do it?#the discourse is annoying. do it or don't. who gives a fuck.#this is why i fear any movement like this couldn't take off in the us#the idea of just being an ally to a movement is so alien#plus americans in general are just soooo individualistic#(+ financial reasons of course)

what even was this post on my home page

1) pedophilia and grooming are tragic irl phenomena. a fictional child being sexualised does not make anyone a pedophile. ships aren't "grooming". let's stop throwing that word around. let's not equate that crime to fictional thoughts. 1984 thought police behaviour atp. and this is coming from someone who doesn't write or consume fictional underage content.
2) this is just such a gross* mischaracterisation and generalisation of sebaciel shippers.
*gross as in the german word for utter/complete, not as in disgusting. which btw, extremely disrespectful to call other people "revolting" over... *checks notes* ..fictional ships
it's so rude and all kinds of presumptuous to assume some people have lesser cognitive ability than you to critically analyse a work simply because they see the main pairing that the creator is trying to promote in a romantic or sexual way. im not even a big fan of o!ciel being sexualised but the manga literally does it—why are we acting like the people who see it are delusional or stupid? the way this person's first post is alienating a part of the fandom by implying they're dumb just for shipping something..? is crazy. our analysis tags are full, we're not all writing porn 24/7 and EVEN IF SOME OF US ARE?? hello??? everyone in this fandom should accept the source material is extremely sexually charged. even non sbcl shippers are often writing/drawing sexually charged scenes either canon or fanon. anyway no reason to generalise people like this.
3) comparing the work of yana toboso to stories with intense sexual themes then acting like sebaciel shippers are the unhinged ones who are "scrap[ping] off any sort of character between those two and us[ing] them for their fetish niche fantasies" is a little wild. do you not realise those works are all disturbing and most of them sexually violent?
here's some proof in case anyone doesn't know those stories very well: frankenstein (sexual violence as a form of power/revenge), dracula (despite its queer themes, ultimately women's death is portrayed as something beautiful), even in wuthering heights (literally fetishistic sadomasochism)

like come on. are we being serious? sebaciel is the problem..?? you read all that and missed the fetishism and bdsm and rape/sexual violence?? or is it somehow okay if those works do it? but not if sebaciel shippers write about this stuff? why the double standard
4) it's really funny to me how they acknowledge care between sebaciel and somehow it's sebaciel shippers who are delusional. im sorry but not even most sebaciel shippers have such a simplified view of sebaciel; poetic as it sounds, "broken boy and heartless demon" is such a mischaracterisation of them. i don't care how anyone sees them but come ON, you can't criticise other people and call their behaviour "truly revolting" (!!) over a ship and then have such an infantile view of the characters.
5) "consummation of the contract"

nothing more to say. this has to be the craziest first post of a blog i have ever seen. please don't go looking for this person, they just said some funny things that i had to point out.
anyway same person's stance on generative AI... take from that what you will.

I'm going to be so real I do not understand tim & steph shippers who feel that Steph dating Tim again would save her character. You can make an argument that giving Tim a more compelling love interest would be beneficial for him! And you can at least make an argument that the fujo mischaracterization of Steph would stop. However she'd still, inevitably, be treated as a prop character/extension for someone more popular 😭 it also wouldn't make her appear in more books! Tim doesn't have many frequent appearances at the moment either! You can just say you like the couple and want them back together without acting like you have some kind of moral stance
#ramblings of a lunatic#dc comics#dc#NOT character tagging. for reasons j feel are obvious#honestly i shouldn't even be posting this here I'm responding more to twitter sentiments but they'd cook me on there if i posted this#anyway sometimes i think ppl (again the twt ppl specifically. tumblr timsteph fans mostly normal) are doing that thing-#-where you get so deep into a hyper online discourse cycle that you end up reproducing mainstream sentiments from scratch#''let men date women!'' this is what some of you sound like when talking about timsteph to me /j#there's a lot to critique about how Tim's been written since canonizing his bisexuality!#personally I've noticed (and seen other ppl notice to) that some writers seem unaware that tim is bi#not in the sense of making him straight but in the sense that they seem to think he's gay bc none of his relationships w women-#-are acknowledged as having been. relationships#or if they are there's an idea that tim was using them to 'hide from his true self' or something#genuinely problematic sentiment!#i also don't really find the ''he should cheat on bernard!'' jokes funny#like lets bffr Tim's cheating was NEVER acknowledged as cheating he was seen as a good all-american boy#so like. bringing that trait back and acknowledging it as cheating ONLY after he comes out as bi? i get it- ironic homophobia but-#-i really don't like it!#anyway. close your eyes and focus on the daminika like the rest of us /j#or the stephcass jason dancing image which will live in my head and heart forever despite arguably being ooc as well <3#bc it's funny <3 and at least I'm self aware <3#also much MUCH more importantly DC POWER SPECIAL EXTREMELY GOOD GO READ IT FOR DUKE#and jace but i haven't read future state yet bc i tried and got. extremely bored 😞 sorry jace you seem really cool#but he's great in the story dynamjc duo with duke. loved it love them want more#special was sold out at my comic shop tho so i couldn't grab a copy. might hit the other shop in town today to see#BOOST THE NUMBERS WE NEED A POWER COMPANY ONGOING GANG#anyway yeah. tim & steph thoughts. you can just say you like them you don't have to do all that

do you defend Bajrang Dal for killing a man and his two young sons
Hello. Welcome to my asks. I actually thank you for asking this question because it gives me the opportunity to give my answer, which I love to do.
First of all, you are referring to the Graham Staines case. He was a missionary pastor who was converting tribal people in India into the Christian cult. He used to sexually assault women he had lured in. Tribal people, scared and not knowing what to do, especially in a country where the law and order does not work, saw few options. even after Staines' crimes, he got a posthumous award from the government of India and the people who resisted him were jailed for a long time.

Why are white people coming to India to convert people into Christianity? Haven't they gotten the memo that India is no longer a colony?

Just look at that. What kind of audacity do these people have to say vile, anti-Hindu things like this whilst enjoying the hospitality of Indians? The colonisers came, looted and wrecked India and they still think that India is a colony and that they can do and say whatever they please.
India wasn't the only place where the Christians carried out there heinous atrocities.

The Native Americans in United States and Chile are protesting against the same entity. This entity exploited their children. This entity eradicated their culture, and physically, mentally, and sexually abused their children. This entity is the colonial structure empowered by the Christian Church and missionaries. Most socially conscious, progressive people are outraged by what the church did to the Native Americans, and completely support the Native Americans seeking justice. Why is it, though, that when we Hindus seek justice against the colonisers and the neo-colonisers for sexually exploiting and abusing our children, that is Hindu extremism in your opinion?

The pope of the Christian faith apologised to the Native Americans in Canada, whose children were physically, psychologically, and sexually abused in Canadian residential schools. years ago, Hindus also sought for apology from the Christian church for physically, psychologically and sexually abusing Hindus' children and coercing them to convert to Christianity. However, when we Hindus demand apology for the transgressions against our humanity, we are called extremists and fascists by your kind. It seems like your goodwill only extends to the people who are thoroughly subjugated and have no nation of their own anymore.

Finally, i'm making an assumption when I say that you also must be one of those people who support Palestine. It's just a gut feeling that I have. In that case, you were probably also reacting to the 7th of October Hamas attack like Najma Sharif here:
"what did y'all think decolonisation meant? vibes? papers? essays? losers".
The only difference is that the victims of Hamas had done nothing to them. Staines had sexually abused Hindus.

i just watched geek girl on netflix! i have some... criticism... but i actually really enjoyed it! very cute and has similar vibes to like angus, thongs and perfect snogging/bend it like beckham (which side note: both great movies directed by the same woman) but yeah! has the vibes of a 2000s british movie - combined with the under-rated use of a teen girl voice over!
#i dont want to get too into my criticism -- but it was mostly surrounding like representation (and nick...)#the main takeaway should be that i enjoyed the show! and it was great as someone who read the books as a kid#but also i dont remember anything really about the books...#also nick was american and that was just so jarring at times like i would not really notice and then boom! american accent#slay yuji tho#(not the first time ive said that --> as a jjk stan)#geek girl#geek girl netflix#geek girl show#netflix#wildlywatches <3#wildlywatches <3 geek girl#hope they do a s2 or smth! gave me the same feeling when i finished as i had with angus thongs and perfect snogging#urgh now imagining geek girl but with (young) aaron taylor johnson!#also so many posts under the 'geek girl' tag which are.... n sfw... like so shocking when i was just trying to see discourse about the show
