“Gaz  give me your jacket….  I am colllddddd.”

“You are Scottish, you don’t know what cold is.” Gaz slurred, trying to yank his jacket back.

“I am NOT Scottish… I am YOU NOW, KYLE GARRICK!!!! NOW GIVE ME THAT JACKET!!!” Soap spins around, avoiding Gaz’s attempt to fight for jacket.

“Johnny, you are NOT KYLE, Give him his jacket back,” You slap your brother on the head, and to your horror, Gaz pull your arms up, trying to bite it , “ KYLE What!!!!  DON’T BITE ME!!! Stop it!!” Trying to pull your arm back, Gaz look at you with a puppy look, and turned towards Soap and grabbed his arm and started to bite it instead.

“ KYLE GAZ GARRICK STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT STOP BITING MY BROTHER!!! SIMON come and help me!!!!” You shouted at Ghost, guessing he is still at least much more sober than these two men. 

Ghost frowned, looking at you with a super seriously look, before stepping towards you, holding up a beer bottle. “ LOOK, a free bottle of beer.”

I'm 5'6" with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm a fairly introverted person but I prefer to surround myself with more extroverted people (I low-key thrive on chaos and like noise around me almost all the time it's bad lmao). Im getting my BA in communications and plan to open my own coffee shop later down the road once I find a good place far from home to settle. I don't want kids and I plan to travel a lot once I'm done with schooling. I have a dog but I plan to adopt more from the shelter nearest me once I get settled after uni. I read and write quite a bit in my free time and I've taken up collecting old/original but still very much usable vinyls for my record collection. I've also started crocheting and sewing with the intentions of making my own clothes. I also hate cardio. it's absolutely horrible and you can most defintely find me lifting weights lol...Im considered plus size weight wise but build wise I've heard a lot of people call me mid size. I usually don't pay much attention to those labels though just because it's better for my mental health. anxiety is a big struggle when it comes to my weight so I usually just do what makes me most happy that day! thank you so much and keep up the amazing writing!<3 (sorry this is so long lol)

How you met: Civilian An iddylic coffee shop set in the countryside of Herefordshire was your dream. After uni, it took you a few years but you finally achieved your small slice of heaven. You made the short commute from your cozy cottage and smiled as you saw the sage green awning of your shop. You weren't alone as you were accompanied by your loyal Border Collie. You rewarded your companion with a treat as you stocked the small glass displays with baked goods and wrote out the menu for the day. The morning was slow as a few of your regulars came in for their usual brews and to pet their favorite employee. Eventually around noon, a man entered and greeted your pleasantly. "Just a black coffee, love," he said as you grabbed a mug for him. "It'll be ready right away, sir," you started to say, "you can wait for it at the end." He smiled and nodded in response and as you brewed his coffee, you could hear him happily "chatting" with your pet. "Well aren't you a beauty," he said and you could see your pup happily wagging her tail and leaning into his hand. "She definitely likes you," you said as you handed him his mug. He thanked you and went to sit at one of the tables with pothos vines providing an overhead cabana. Your dog followed at his ankles and sat at his feet as he casually sipped. Eventually, after a few more customers, he handed the mug back to you. "Best brew I've had," he complimented and you blushed slightly, "I'll definitely be back." With that he winked with his charming blue eyes and left your shop. You had to hold your dog in your arms as she tried to run after the man.

A peek into your relationship: You and Price were hosting the members of the 141 and their families at your coffee shop for a much needed reunion. Kyle's wife gently rocked their baby in her arms as you sat with her and discussed some crocheting projects. Their little daughter, Ivy, was cooing as she toyed with her new crochet sweater, courtesy of you. John was enjoying some spiked coffee with his men and Johnny's wife was entertaining the entire group with jokes and stories about their growing family. Eventually, John joined you as you saw his team enjoying the food you both had prepared and entertaining their small army of kids. Simon's daughter was trying to climb her dad's shoulders as he stood there chatting with Johnny. "Glad we never had to go through that," you remarked as you saw how Johnny's kids were now trying to chase your dog around. "Saved a lot of money," John replied and slowly sipped on his coffee. He was right, every year you were able to travel around the world and had crossed off every continent, including Antartica, off your list. The next few weeks you would preparing for a trip to Italy where you would both enjoy the beautiful coastline and the delicacies. As you both laughed at the antics surrounding you, Simon's daughter ran up to you and asked, "Aunt Sky, can you please make me a hot chocolate?" You smiled as you got up and gently kissed John on the cheek. You walked behind your barista counter and as you were preparing her order, you laughed as you saw that your dog had replaced your seat and was now sitting on John's lap.

Back at it again with another ace attorney au, but it’s wholesome this time. This is the WAA or the Wright Adoption Agency! Basically Phoenix runs an orphanage and all these kiddos are the orphans. I drew the first batch then realized I wanted to include Rayfa and Ahlbi so I did a little four year time skip to add them.  Other adults that work at the orphanage include: Mia, Maya, Miles, Gumshoe, and Godot.  Simon is an edgy teen and when he ages out he ends up working at the orphanage to stay close to Athena because they have a really close sibling bond. 13 year old Kay should not be allowed to dress herself. Gummy gave her the Badger dance shirt as a birthday gift and when anyone asks her about it she does a perfect blue badger dance. She’s still a little thief and steals snacks from the kitchen for the other kids lol. 

Apollo is 100% Miles’ kid. Miles took one look at that grumpy little boy and went “ah yes that one is mine now”. Polly gets most of this clothes as hand me downs from Miles, thus why they wear basically the same color scheme of clothing. It’s okay tho because Apollo really looks up to Miles. He used to look up to Phoenix, but then he realized Phoenix is a little stupid and now he thinks he’s insufferable to be around. 

Athena is baby UwU I’m unsure if widget is still a robot necklace in this or not, it might just be a necklace with a smiley face on it that she gave a name. Athena is autistic you can pry that headcanon out of my cold dead hands. She’s really sensitive to noise so she does have her fancy noise cancelling headphones, courtesy of Simon saving up his money to get them for her. in her second design, the vest is a hand me down from Apollo’s first design, but she added the frills herself to give it extra flare. Apollo and Athena are besties, even if Apollo treats her like a baby sometimes.

Pearl and Trucy are the best of friends and consider each other sisters since they both were there from infancy. Pearl is a bit timid, but always tries to be a good big sister to Trucy. She does still have spiritual powers, but since she isn’t in training or anything they only really manifest in the ability to sense spirits. Trucy has always had a fascination with magic and dreams of becoming a magician. Her cape was a gift from Phoenix and she refuses to stop wearing it even when she outgrows it. and yes. the bells on the bottom do jingle when she walks. 

Rayfa insists she is a princess and has this whole convoluted story worked out about how her royal parents lost her on a trip and that’s how she ended up here and that they’ll be back for her any day. Of course none of it is true, but it’s best to just treat her like a princess instead of making her cry. She’s very dramatic and will pretend to faint and throw very loud temper tantrums if she doesn’t get her way. 

Ahlbi is a little itty bitty baby boy and I love him with all my heart. His onsie is dog themed as a callback to his puppy Shah’do in canon. He has a pocket to keep valuables in and “trades” them for other things with the others. Like exchanging a bottle cap for a sticker.

Like Connor is more on the reserved side & maybe was a lil sheltered, & while Markus is more outgoing he still approaches their relationship very carefully at the start. Both of their feelings for one another develop so strong so quickly, & maybe it scares them a bit and they don’t want to admit it to the other at first just how deeply they’ve fallen for each other because their relationship is still rather new, but it just ends up evolving into this really powerful/beautiful relationship. When Connor first enters college, he's still awkward and feels like this is highschool 2.0 all over again. He has no high hopes of it being better than the good times (sharing anecdotes and movie quips with Kara and Chloe in Drama class) or worst than the bad times he experienced (bullying he experienced at the hands of Gavin Reed c/o the varsity football team and fighting with his own closeted feelings).

Connor expected his experiences to just...be.

Connor didn't come here for a good time; he didn't come here for any sort of time. All he intends to do is finish his criminology degree within these four years and dip.

Within a couple of months, he's more sure of himself. He's met some good friends like Simon and Daniel, and Simon's main squeeze, Josh. Daniel and he are best bitches 4 life at the start. He then meets North in English composition and the same happens all over again. The boss WLW and MLM solidarity were real.

He grows into himself with his friends. Now recognizes that he's a hot, gay bitch that has little time for messy people and likes to keep it that way.

He wears a camouflage of the 'shy, sweet type' so he can move around and be unseen easily even as he is constantly on the swivel, partly why he decided to become a detective: he was perfect for it.

His dad thought so too. Had said he would be so dangerous in their respective field because of how he was. He knew Connor was fucking manipulative and maniacal with the cutesy face and dangerous martial arts he'd learned-he'd raised him ofc. That adorable face was a damned front and Hank would guffaw when people fell for it.

Gavin Reed was the first to get his comeuppance senior year of high school and learn this. Connor had played the scared, shy guy- he'd then proceeded to beat the sounds and colors right out of Gavin's raggedy ass.

Now Connor had a damned fan. That bitch followed him to college he was so sprung n that ass whooping. Maybe he gave him brain damage?

Connor ignored him like he did everyone else on campus he wasn't trying to see. He remained reserved and clean-cut. Very few had seen the real him.

Connor had also vowed to not look for a relationship with anyone either in college. Bootycalls? Okay. Something to scratch that itch so he could remain focus on his studies, alright, but not a whole romantic situation.

Connor was just trying to get rid of Gavin for the umpteenth time since this year had started and of fucking course the rest of the football team was there. Gavin didn't know the meaning of "no" and "personal space" and was going to press the issue.

Here steps forward this God of a man. He checks Gavin and Connor's heart in a couple of words.

Markus Manfred enters stage left.

Stupid Markus Manfred and his stupid face, and his stupid heterochromia and stupid kissable mouth. Literally, fuck this dude.

God, the way Markus chased his mouth with his own. The way he'd been stripped and lifted as he weighed next to nothing, the quick yet superb preparation on the fly and then the feeling of him quickly and effectively just getting inside... Connor's one leg shook with the stimulus, his other loosely hung around Markus waist for dear life.

Rip to his pants.

He can feel how he's being physically jostled by the other's larger hands, one on his side, the other under his thigh and it's just-

Connor's face is hot and flushed and he knows it. His damned eyes keep fluttering like he's seizing, mouth open and quite possibly drooling like he cannot control his facial muscles, control the noises pouring out of himself as every stroke inside of him touches that one sensitive spot just right.

His nails bite into Markus beautiful copper skin, flecked in freckles as Connor yells out his joyous release to everyone within a three-mile radius.

When it's said and done, they both had to recap how they even got into this scenario.

Neither were complaining, not really, just really taken aback that had happened out of the blue like that and felt so natural. Markus had been chiding Gavin about being a creep, to which Connor amended he was a stalking creep. It hadn't flown over we'll with Markus since he was the captain of the team.

Gav was hazed, he was pissed and retreated. They had stayed and talked to each other. Just talked. Markus invited him to that evening game to which Connor advised he'd already be at because he was a band member. It was early and they had parted but that whole day was filled with happenstance's of Markus appearance and talking to him. The pull had been strong.

The attraction was overwhelming and it was a bit terrifying for both parties to admit. They had just been talking to each other. Nothing significant or substantial.

Markus felt maybe he was riding a gaming win high along with his obvious attraction to Connor.

Connor felt like maybe it was mutual attraction and appreciation for him.

They both left it at that. Where Connor had not seen Markus before, he now began seeing him everywhere: in passing, in some classes, he acts as a student assistant for additional credit and functions.

Connor being in the college band and having a very beautiful jock show him this sort of attention was flattering he has to admit, and that he's a bit curious about him.

Markus asks him out on an official date.

Connor really wants to scoff at him because the scared, nerdy kid inside of him says this is a trap, he's doing this for an elaborate prank, that this is somehow tied to Gavin and you will regret this.

Connor has a hard time believing that someone that looks like Markus would genuinely be interested in a person like him. Then again, he had just blown his back out magnificently not that long ago.

Markus is all warm and fuzzy, bubbly and chipper and Connor gets drunk on the free serotonin every time they meet.

He takes the plunge and says yes to the date and has never regretted it.

The conversation is immaculate, the expectations realistic and superb, and Markus is not just a jock: he's down to earth, adopted into money but lives simply. He wants to be a painter like his dad...

His father is the Carl Manfred, the famous painter and Connor feels like he had an aneurysm.

Connor tells Markus about his Lieutenant Dad, Henry 'Hank' Anderson. How he was the youngest lieutenant on the Detroit police force and Markus stupidly and excitedly smiles and says "I know! I was such a fan of your dad. He helped my dad when art thieves were stealing one-of-a-kind art from the museum!"

Connor is so damned smitten with this lovely creature that it's insane. He thinks he really might lo..like Markus a lot.

Connor's thoughts derail at the word choice a scowl on his face. What was he, 10?

Markus would run away so damned fast if he said those words to him. Just because they'd been going out and now regularly intimate didn't make it love, right? Why, then, did it bother Connor that it felt so right only with this man?

Markus notices the sour disposition Connor has, tries to get him back into the conversation, and even though Connor says he's okay, Markus knows that he's withdrawn from the conversation fully.

Unbeknownst to Connor, Markus had his strong feelings as well over the matter.

He was feeling Connor hard. It blindsided him and he knew that he needed to talk about this with Connor, lest one or both of them get hurt.

They both had fallen hard, much harder than they thought they would.

Instead of that talk Markus promised himself he was mature and level-headed enough for them both to have or even Connor just acknowledging the truth of the matter, they left the relationship in a sort of limbo, as is, neither wanting to face that four-letter word headlong in such a brutally honest way, fear that maybe just maybe what each of them had been feeling wasn't that and neither wanted the hurt if it wasn't L O V E.

I have more ideas on this one but I'll cut it for now because it's huge for a Tumblr post, lol. If it gets some interest, I have no problem with continuing it in another post of my own. HMU if you do like like. 😘

in canon, ghosts are kind of accepted as real due to mediums and jesters who haunt and kill beyond the grave, but there r still ppl who do not believe in them despite that! before dying farrow didnt really believe in them. i mean, if they were real, why weren’t they super haunted by all their victims? anyways, after dying and experiencing The Afterlife tm whatever that may be and coming Back, they r now forced to accept they are real because they were one. dexter on the other hand is still skeptic and doesnt wanna believe the world isnt totally orderly and normal, farrow however has seen too much shit and has given into the insane people club

- rascal is the son of a single mom and has an older brother named simon! theyre very close although he isnt as close with his brother as he was when they were kids. he keeps in touch w his mom often!

- buggy and skuggy r not siblings in canon kdhkfgd they r roleswaps but uhm they do not have contact w their surviving parent anymore, which is good, bc they kind of kicked them out and would probably be bugging them to come visit for years afterward. bugs has a complicated relationship w his mom bc he does feel guilty for ruining her life, so he doesnt think shes bad, but still doesnt wanna show his face near her anytime soon. skuggy says he could not give a damn if his father was dead or alive but honestly hes still curious. he doesnt rlly think his dad would recognize him anyways

Adrien Agreste =/= Sociopath - About Adrien Salt

I've seen a lot of posts going around about Adrien being a sociopath or the other (harasser, abuser...etc.)

What I find most of those posts lacking is looking at the big picture, or just zeroing in on certain moments of the show and even disregarding the context of those selected moments to unfairly rule judgement on a child (in canon) no less.

Definition of sociopath: A sociopath is a term used to describe someone who has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). People with ASPD can’t understand others’ feelings. They’ll often break rules or make impulsive decisions without feeling guilty for the harm they cause.

People with ASPD may also use “mind games” to control friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers. They may also be perceived as charismatic or charming.

We have to analyze the context and the surroundings Adrien is in.

Family, social life, relationships (platonic and romantic), personality, age, environment...etc.

Family:

We know Adrien has a father who is controlling, preferring to micro-manage every aspect of his son's life to continue to have a semblance of control at all times. We assume (heavily implied in the show), that his mother was kind, warm and emotional (whether that emotional is the "out-there" kind her twin sister has, it remains to be seen.)

According to a snippet from "Simon Says", Adrien also has "Quite a temper, you remind me of someone" according to Gabriel's own words, we can assume the "someone" is Emilie, Gabriel says this when Chat Noir refused to follow his orders and told him to basically "get off his high horse". In this context, anyone who defies Gabriel in such a way would either be branded as "disobedient" or to "have quite a temper".

According to Adrien himself in "Adrien's Double Life" (from Miraculous Secrets) he describes being Chat Noir as "...I can finally do whatever I want to do, say whatever comes to mind." He doesnt feel as restricted and controlled since that's the one aspect of his life his father has no knowledge of.

Social life:

Adrien has had no or very little interaction with peers.

Evidence: Chloe being his childhood friend. Felix commenting on Chloe's appearance in the video she sent for Adrien's birthday, saying "Chloe. Just as annoying as usual." suggests he knows her from before, maybe even as early on as their childhood days.

This makes Felix and Chloe the only kids, of spoiled and rich background, with whom Adrien interacted.

Felix is shown to be good at manipulating people and keeping up appearances (potentially connected to insecurities within the family? Not confirmed), Chloe is openly mean and bullies others (with underlying insecurities also connected to her parents).

The only positive adult (if Gorilla isn't as involved and Nathalie had been solely Gabriel's secretary and not Adrien's caretaker since there was Emilie) in Adrien's life would be his mother, who also fell into a coma during Adrien's formative years (and still during a time where he's figuring himself and his emotions out: puberty), leaving him with his father.

Moving on, even if the writer's sometimes may not always successfully show Adrien being awkward in social interactions, it doesnt mean they dont exist.

This interaction between him and Marinette, asking for her autograph, very formal in his question, awkward in posture:

He's picked up on some speech patterns from his frequent interactions with Nino ("dude", "Hey man." "Totally dude.") showing he's, like many people, mimicking his friend's behavior and speech to grow more favorably in their eyes.

The same pattern can be observed with Gabriel and Adrien: Adrien adopts his father's formal speech whenever talking to him, since that appeases him.

Adrien has had very limited friendly interactions with his peers, romantic interactions are basically non-existent. The scenes where Adrien is being chased by his fans, who obsessively adore him, cant be linked to Adrien experiencing healthy romantic contact (Lila doesn't count since she only uses Adrien to further her goals). Marinette doesn't count since Adrien's isn't even aware of her romantic feelings for him. (Again, difficulties picking up social cues due to only ever being homeschooled > limited social contact with peers)

So no, in my humble opinion, Adrien sometimes doesn't understand other people's feelings not because he's a sociopath, but because he's an awkward kid with very little experience about making friends and having healthy relationships with them.

Relationships:

Let's be direct here: Gabriel is an abusive as*hole.

If the writer's wanted to show Gabriel struggling or having remorse for his actions being Hawkmoth and putting his son through danger, well... They blew it. "Gorizilla" was a 5 second reaction of Hawkmoth showing concern after letting Adrien fall from a skyscraper. Applause. After that? Not much.

Nathalie: Adrien likes, she takes care of him, his schedule, was the one to convince Gabriel to let him attend public school. There are moments in the show where she softens up towards Adrien, but always carries that air of professionalism on her to (possibly, assumption) not grow too close. Gorilla is...Gorilla, but at least the man tries with his nonverbal support and affectionate grunts. Lol.

Gabriel: He loves his father. It's his parent, after all. However, Adrien's reactions to him are vastly different than to how he reacts when thinking of his mother. He shows signs of fear (tensing up, growing obedient...etc.), he excuses his father's excessive controlling tendencies to just be "he's just worried about me", "that's the way he always was", "father cares and protects me". Adrien shows to be frequently disappointed with Gabriel, one of the first scenes being that Gabriel couldn't attend parent's day at school, Adrien was talking on the phone alone in the school hallway. He was genuinely surprised by the blue scarf his father gifted him (not knowing it was Marinette), since all he used to get were pens (again, not even from Gabriel, but Nathalie). This is my assumption but: Adrien has previously begged his father to go outside more or attend public school, but this time it worked only because Nathalie managed to convince him.

Friends from school: Nino is his best friend, Adrien seems to be good friends with Alya too, basically everyone in class, with varying degrees of closeness. Chloe is a childhood friend whom Adrien is fond of but also grows exasperated with and corrects her behavior if she's too harsh.

Marinette: likes and respects her, but can't read her well or at least when he thinks he's got her figured out, she claims the opposite. Marinette has been sending mixed signals, on one hand even making Adrien believe (and fear) they weren't friends. "Chat Blanc" contrary to popular belief, showed that Adrien is delighted at the prospect of Marinette being Ladybug (he'd severe doubts when Chloe or anyone else was brought up as a possible option).

Kagami: likes her, respects her, admires her fencing skills, learned to have fun hanging out with her and playing as kids usually do since she also has a controlling parent and they both know some ways/tricks around their boundaries to sneak off and meet their friends. Adrien and Kagami have similarities in that respect, Gabriel pushing Adrien to be a model, Mrs. Tsurugi pushing Kagami to be a master fencer.

Lila: At first defended her, was friendly towards her since she was a new student from overseas he sympathized because surely it would be lonely? Impulsiveness: Marinette's daily fantasies (sharing a future life with Adrien and their hamster-who-must-not-be-named), when Lila's "precious family heirloom necklace" was "stolen", Marinette was quick to include her classmates in the list of potential perpetrators for it (without ill intent, but still..)

With one neglectful parent, a missing parent, no friends (prior to going to school)...etc. There is also a lot we don't know about her.

I loved the OC, a traumatized girl named Hannah that takes such a shining to Dean. The familial drama that unfolds had me reading contentedly through the whole thing. Summary:  Jared is the proprietor of The Moose and Mayhem, New York City's only twenty-four-hour bookstore. It takes up most of his brain but he loves it – the employees, the customers, the shelves and shelves of books. Jensen is co-owner of Two Brothers Bar, Red Hook's finest purveyor of bourbon, beer, and country bands. It takes up increasing amounts of his time but he loves it – the bartenders, the customers, even line-dance nights. Jared's weird year begins on No-Pants Day with the unusual presence of people riding the subway in their underwear in January. Jensen's weird year begins with an impulse to cross the river into Manhattan at three in the morning to see if the tall Texan guy he met a week ago is as cute as he remembers. You could tell dimeliora did the research on ace relationships she said she did because it was very wholesome, there were sexual aspects to this story, and yet Jared’s character was undeniably asexual. Operation: Mistletoe by dimpleforyourthoughts. Rated NC-17, Jensen/Jared, 40k words. Summary: FBI Agent Jensen Ackles is a damn good agent, but his devil-may-care attitude, gut instinct, and sheer dumb luck have finally run out. With his job and reputation on the line, Jensen is assigned to a new partner: the overzealous and overachieving Agent Jared Padalecki. Their mission: Infiltrate a ring of drug dealers hiding out in Suburbia in the midst of the Holiday season.The only catch? They have to pretend to be head-over-heels in love with each other. ao3.org/works/5553827 my thoughts: Okay, I actually adore Law Enforcement AUs, whether it’s Sam+Dean or Jensen+Jared, just the mystery and thrill of solving crimes together with some actual authority & resources, having a network of coworkers to banter with, etc. is just kind of an amazing atmosphere to get lost in. I have not watched ep 5 yet but I have heard the main critique of Bridgerton and already pre know I’m gonna hate it. Anyway mildly related to that I think the biggest fix to Bridgerton to me would be if someone rewrote it and the main change they made is daphne decides she’d like love and her honor, decides to marry Simon knowing he will have no children and tjem both knowing she does want a family (as is implied at end of ep 4), daphne showing that she’s picked to compromise and decided she wants love with her best friend more than children - which, this show is full of silver linings and compromises of the best decent option for ppl among their choices - and then later she realizes she is quite happy and fulfilled in the life they carve out, with said best friend. Everyone in this show, including her this whole time, has been picking their best choice from imperfect options, to the amount they have the freedom to do so. And daphne in particular values her ability to determine her own life as much as possible . In this moment, she’s decided she’d rather maintain her family honor and keep Simon alive over have a family and children. So like. She made a the choice. It would be interesting to see her grow from it and how it changes her life, and options.

Perhaps she is an involved aunt - she has many siblings so it’s bound to happen, perhaps Simon eventually decides he’d like children after all in a few years when he views it as his and daphnes life instead of his fathers legacy and decides on his own terms if he changes his mind. Or hey perhaps if adoption can work in this world? They adopt Marinas kid - if Simon would like kids and just not an actual legacy for Hastings, it would be a good way to keep his word and ensure his father never has the line passed down. Even if they said the kid was theirs and it was named a Hastings, Simon and daphne could happily know it has no relation to simons awful father or that legacy.

Also, on a related note: while I like how it’s written to be KEY DRAMATIC with her coming up DURING the duel... I think like. In a happier world, Simon would have told her straightforward when he broke up with her - “I can’t have children, I know you want it, as your friend I want you to stop this act now and pursue the prince who wants what you want in a marriage.” I know WHY Simon didn’t just say it outright - he feared she was in love, and that she’d be tempted to rose colored lense pick him anyway. Just as hes aware his crush makes him want to stick around for her. But given that daphne DOES make thought out choices and value making them, if he’d been straightforward completely at that point, I think they both could’ve made decisions they were happier with and had an easier time. Either daphne would’ve contemplated marrying him with the only weight on her mind about what she wants more in a marriage - love or children, or them both deciding they should let it go and Simon able to leave instead of lingering because he wouldn’t still wonder if it would work out with daphne. Basically like - they could’ve worked through this, with less pressure and no passionate longing kiss scandal! Although like lol I obviously get why that DIDNT happen - much more drama the way it played out! And very in character for Simon - and for many people in such situations where they break up because they think someone else is a better match for the person they love. But also like? Simon at the duel DID clearly lay out the options, finally, for daphne. And it’s what they needed to do. But unfortunately by the duel point, daphnes reputation was at risk and she could potentially lose marriage AND children prospects (along with her honor/Familys honor in society) if he leaves town/dies and she’s publicly dishonored. Whereas now she’s in a difficult place where of course she’d pick marrying Simon - she gets 2 out of 3 at least: honor intact and marriage. And also; she doesn’t want him to die. So that’s 3/4 things she wants. Of course she’ll pick marriage. I know it’s for the drama lol. But truly, if Simon had explained When he broke up with her how their wants clashed, they could’ve made this decision under much less pressure since u know simons LIFE wouldn’t be at stake. Then the only contemplations would be - Simon: do I want to settle down for love, could I compromise potentially in the future if she would like a family. And daphne: do I want love in my marriage with a friend, or do I want a marriage partner who wants the same goals? And they could’ve like... fucking calmly both decided what they wanted most, with no risk of losing something important. Like if he’d told her straightforward, at that point, they would’ve had no bad choices! If daphne said I’ll Marry the prince, then she’d get some of what she wanted and Simon would get some of what he does and know his loved one picked the choice she wanted. If daphne said I want to marry you, then he’d know she’s not going to be mad with the consequences of picking him and what that means and that he gets to have love in his life with someone ok with what he needs to do because of his father.

Truly tho. If it’s not what happens, I WANT a link to the Bridgerton fanfic which ends with them adopting Marinas child and so there’s never a true Hastings line anymore, but they can have a family (if it’s something Simon would like, and he just doesn’t obtain it because his desire to end the Hastings line is more important). (This is all assuming Marina would like to have someone adopt - if she’d like her child, then her and the youngest Bridgerton I really like).

Other issues I have with this show boil down to I hate aristocrats and would rather watch Sena and the Tailor and Marina’s show. Simon is one of the most likable rich ppl in this to me and I’m sure part is that he’s friends with all kinds of people and respects them all like his boxing champion friend and wife, as well as Marina who finds all of the aristocrats detatched lives offputting.

Also I... I suppose I like Anthony Bridgerton as a character? But only because he’s so flawed? Like now I’m quite sure this dude is TRYING to disown himself/ruin his family just enough so that he can run away/keep his mistress, on purpose. Meanwhile it’s like GOD you lil fucker... yeah, your mom called you out on a mistress. You sucked up. You could have just taken the shame, swallowed it, and said “yes mom I’m staying with my mistress, never marrying, the brothers will carry the line.” Yes, he’d be humiliated in front of his mother. But it’s a small pain, considering Sena was happy to keep being his well kept mistress for life provided he remained loyal - which he was happy to do, since he doesn’t intend to marry. Yes eventually people would talk, but by then his brothers and sisters would hopefully have married good families and their status would counteract anything negative he’d draw to the family. Problem solved, he gets to continue Being with his lover, does not have to marry or have the heir, and likely stops sabotaging his siblings and lets his mom work her magic more. It’s clear he’s sabotaging his family because he’s desperate to run away and dump responsibly on them. But the matter is, if he sucked up private humiliation from his mom, yeah it sucks major but he could keep everything he values in life, no one is hurt, and he could stop his sabotaging tendencies that overall hurt his family Much more than his having a mistress hurts them.

Heart Beats #18: Lovers ~ When you return to the cabin, Atobe is awake. You explain what happened and everyone decides to go to bed. Before you can, however, he comments about how the two of you have become lovers. Choutarou flushes and Shishido pipes in thinking that being lovers means having sex, making Choutarou quickly deny the accusation. Atobe chuckles while you facepalm. Atobe then explains that lovers simply means ‘a person in love with another’.

Unnamed, Akaya, Part 1 ~ Akaya needs to take a shower after finding himself the victim of a prank, but after hearing the high schoolers talking about how the shower room is haunted, he refuses to go alone. Everyone else is asleep, so he bugs you to go along with him. You plan on standing outside, but he demands that you stand watch inside. Halfway through his shower, a loud and eery moan fills the room. He screams and launches at you, his naked body pressing against yours as close as he could get it. You climb up the wall and pull a knife from your boot to pry the speaker from the wall, showing that he had gotten pranked.

Unnamed, Akaya, Part 2 ~ Akaya was pranked again. You sit in his room while he strips down to his boxers, listening to him complain about why he keeps getting pranked. You simply tell him that it’s because he is cute and that if he stops reacting, they will get bored and move on. He now only has one pair of clean clothes left, so he begs you to wash his dirty clothes for him. Sanada walks in to find the half naked boy sitting on your lap and freezes, demanding to know what’s going on. He claims that you are corrupting the second year. Akaya doesn’t understand what the big deal is, and you simply state that there isn’t one because you’ve seen dicks before. Sanada, trying to hide his blush, yells at you and throws his balled up jacket, hitting Akaya in the face and sending him to the ground. Deciding to aid him, you quickly grab his clothes and head for the laundry room. He rushes to get dressed and follows, sitting ontop of the machine. Again, he questions what the big deal is, since you had already seen him naked and he trusts you. You suggest that he not tell Sanada that. Smut ensues.

Unnamed, Mihashi ~ Mihashi is being bullied by some other kids in the park when you stumble across them. Being an ex-gangster, you were easily able to lift the kid off the ground and scare him shitless with just a few words. Mihashi is crying and apologizes for being so weak. You wipe his tears and give him your long sleeved shirt as it’s a bit cold outside. “There’s always someone stronger than you out there. Besides, if you get stronger, I wouldn’t get the chance to save you.” He smiles and your heart skips a beat. You ask if he’s ever had his first kiss and then ask if you can take it from him. He nervously agrees and you pull him close, sharing your first, of many, kisses.

Unnamed, Marui ~ A high schooler named Murai develops a test syrum that turns Marui into a vampric assassin. After being injected, he passes out and is taken to the nurse’s office. Having had feelings for the boy for a while, you rush to the office as soon as you here and you quickly note the signs that he’s a vampire. After getting the nurse out of the room, you slice your arm and offer him a drink, shocking Niou, who had arrived with you. Since you are the first blood he’s had, he no longer smells the blood of others like a normal vampire does. Like a homing rocket set on a target - it ignores everything but the target.

Marui ends up having a nightmare about Murai and his roomates are unable to wake him so they grab you. Hearing your voice brings him back, but he is so upset that you grab him and bring him to your room to calm down. He explains that he had a nightmare about the man who turned him and that he had killed you. This is after over hearing your conversation with Niou about his condition. He’s hungry, but doesn’t want to leave a mark, so she removes her shirt and tells him to pick a spot. He chooses your upper left chest.

During a fight, you get a cut on your stomach. Marui smells your blood and comes running, licking the wound. Later, he is with Sanada and the others when he smells your blood again. His fangs appear and he slaps his hand over his mouth before excusing himself to chase after you. Murai sees him coming up behind you and gets excited, expecting him to attack, but instead he hugs you and kisses your back, telling you to be careful. You then take down Murai and learn how to cure Marui. This takes place during U-17.

“Pyromaniac” I.M and Jooheon ~ Reader is childhood friends with Jooheon. She invites him and I.M to hang out in an abandoned building that’s rumored to be haunted. They decide to split up and reader, being a pyromaniac, plays with her lighter as she explores, flicking it open and closed repeatedly. When an ice cold hand grabs her shoulder, she drops the lighter and whips around, only to find nothing there. The hand grips her again and she whips back around to find some cloth on the floor now set ablaze with a transparent woman standing amongst them. She noped out of there, grabbing her friends on the way. The fire department was called and so was Shownu, who questions what happened. “I don’t understand how this could have happened.” to which I.M responds “My guess would be the pyromaniac but that’s just me.” Everyone stares at her and she only shrugs, claiming the fault of the ghost.

hi! Comics rec anon here! to answer your question, I'm not entirely new to comics, have read a few but not enough to say I have a specific type. The first series I read was all the jessica jones comics which I really liked, also the miles morales series which i enjoyed and the spidergwen series which was cute but the art was kinda annoying lol. i also like a couple of dc ones like mister miracle. so i think i prefer a general rec from you since the comics world is so big. thanks in advance!

Got it. Hmm… let’s see. It’s probably easiest to break it down by publisher then. I’ll try to give a mix of ongoing, finished, and “classic” stories. 

Fair warning, I read a lot of comics (probably about 60 per month, and that’s not including manga), so even though this may feel like a long list, it’s short for me.

Marvel

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man - Relatively new series, and it’s been fantastic so far. Great art, and a bit more grounded than the Amazing Spider-Man run (which is also great). Stellar art, too.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man - A little YA-ish at times, but overall enjoyable. You get to see a lot more of Miles’ personality in this one, which is always fun.

Superior Spider-Man - Because nothing is more fun than seeing a semi-reformed Otto Octavius try to be a hero.

Captain Marvel - Kelly Thompson does a phenomenal job with this series. She has a great hold of Carol’s voice. Would highly recommend Kelly Sue Deconnick and Margaret Stohl’s previous runs to give context (Captain Marvel 2012-2017, Mighty Captain Marvel, and The Life of Captain Marvel).

Jessica Jones - Not sure if you’ve read Kelly Thompson’s recent run or just Bendis’, but hers is definitely worth a read.

Avengers (2019) - actually a solid run. I would check this out if you’re more into crossover, large-scale storytelling. They’re in the middle of War of the Realms, though… so maybe wait until like August or September?

Immortal Hulk, Daredevil, and X-23 - also good. I read them off and on (not really my fave characters to read on their own, I enjoy them in ensembles), but the stories are solid.

Rogue & Gambit - mini series that I absolutely love by Kelly Thompson (she does great character work) that came out last year. Mr. & Mrs. X is a follow-up to it and also tons of fun (nearing its end as well). 

Runaways - I fell off of this when Brian K. Vaughn left, but I can say up through his run ended is well worth the read.

As far as classic stories, Infinity Gauntlet, The Dark Phoenix Saga, X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, Secret Invasion, and Secret Wars would be my first recommendations.

I would’ve recommended Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, but maybe wait on that. It’s about to end soon and transition to just Ghost Spider (where she leaves Earth-65 and comes to Earth-616 where Peter and Miles are). Same for X-Men. I’m currently reading Uncanny, but X-Men is about to be overhauled soon. So probably hold on that front.

DC/Vertigo

Honestly, not the biggest DC fan (I lean more towards Vertigo actually), but there are a few that I enjoy.

Action Comics (starting at #1000) - I am not a Superman fan, but I enjoy this series, which says a lot. I enjoy what Bendis is doing with him in this run.

Naomi - a new series, also by Bendis, following the story of a young Black girl who is investigating the circumstances around her adoption. Don’t want to give too much away, but probably my fave DC run at the moment. And Jamal Campbell’s art is fucking gorgeous.

Dial H for Hero - it’s fun. It’s weird. Not for everyone, but maybe give it a shot.

The Flash and Batman, New 52 runs - New 52 gets shit from fans a lot, but I thought these runs were awesome. Very good story-telling.

Dark Nights: Metal event - Probably one of the best things DC did in a long time. It’s a massive event that pretty much reworked the DC universe and all the characters. Enjoyed it immensely.

Heroes in Crisis - this miniseries ended very recently. It’s a story focused on a major event that happens at Sanctuary, a rehab for superheroes suffering from mental health issues (e.g. PTSD after doing something that nearly killed them). Not your usual superhero story, which I liked.

American Carnage - very gritty story focused on a white-passing Black man who infiltrates a white supremacist organization. It’s really fucking good.

High Level - I picked this book up randomly because the cover looked cool. I’ve been reading it ever since. I would say it’s weird sci-fi/fantasy/cyberpunk adventure. A little strong on the language, but very interesting story and great artwork.

Birds of Prey - awesome series with the DC women. A little shaky sometimes, but Gail Simone does really good character work. Her run is probably the only one I’d bother reading.

Deathbed - miniseries by Vertigo that ended maybe a year ago. It’s so bizarre and hilarious and out there. I loved it.

Batwoman (J.H. Williams run) and Batwoman: Rebirth - Kate Kane, my favorite lesbian superhero. Williams did a great job in his run (and the art is to die for). Don’t read the back half, they change writers and it’s a goddamn mess. But then Marguerite Bennett (a queer woman) picked it up in Rebirth, and it got awesome again. Also, shout-out to Greg Rucka for officially making her queerness canon in 52.

Wonder Woman - Wonder Woman’s my fave of DC main characters (along with Martian Manhunter and Wally West I & II), and my favorite run for her is Greg Rucka’s. He does a surprisingly good job of writing women. The run is over at the moment, but I’d check it out. Good stuff there.

For classic stories, Kingdom Come, Watchmen, Flashpoint (precursor to New 52), and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman are some of my faves.

Image is probably what I read the most. Definitely has the most diverse pool of comics to choose from.

Saga - My favorite comic series of all-time. I’ve gotten so many people to read this and they love it. It’s weird - really weird, actually - but the storytelling is phenomenal. And it’s on hiatus right now, so plenty of time to get caught up.

Ice Cream Man - This series is so fucking weird, but I love it. It’s sorta like… Tales from the Crypt? Different stories (mostly horror) that all feature this demon ice cream man.

The Weatherman - This series is such a goddamn delight. I don’t want to ruin the plot but just… yeah. Read the first issue and it just goes crazy from there.

Man-Eaters - Sort of a niche story. Basically, this takes place in a society where when women get their cycle, they turn into giant cats and maul men, so they’ve given them pills to keep them from menstruating. Sounds weird? Wait until you read it. Probably a highlight series of the year for me. 

Black Science - You might not like the art in this one, but maybe give it a shot? These scientists are trying to solve the problem of limited resources on Earth by hopping across dimensions for new ones (infinite dimensions, infinite resources). Only problem is, their machine got damaged so now they hop uncontrollably to whatever dimension it chooses for however long it decides. It’s a wild ride.

Middlewest - An interesting take on parent/child relationships and how the consequences of abuse, anger, and depression can manifest in dangerous ways. Sounds more bleak than it is - the story actually has quite a bit of humor.

Excellence - Very new series, but with a PoC lead, about PoCs, with mostly PoC creators. A story about a secret society of Black magicians and a son whose next in line to take on the mantle, and it’s pretty fucking cool. Issue 2 comes out this week - check it out!

The Walking Dead - I don’t think I have to explain this one, do I? Zombies.

Lazarus and Lazarus: Risen - Sci-fi story set in a dystopian society where the world is ruled by like 15 or so families, and they each have a Lazarus to fight for them. This is told from the perspective of the Carlyle family’s Lazarus, Forever. 

Die - If Dungeons & Dragons and Jumanji had a baby, it would be this book. Sounds weird, but once you read it, you’ll find the description to be accurate.

Anything from Brian K. Vaughn - I have yet to read something from Brian K. Vaughn that I don’t like. Saga, Paper Girls, Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Barrier… his shit’s always good.

Independents / Not Marvel, DC, or Image

Some of these are nostalgia-based, so fair warning.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BOOM Studios) - very new series that’s out. Great art. If you were a fan of the show, I think you’ll like it. It’s a re-imagining of sorts. There’s also an Angel series that just started.

Nancy Drew (Dynamite) - Listen… I could not stand Nancy Drew as a kid. Never got into it and thought it was boring as hell. But I really loved this miniseries (another Kelly Thompson run). It’s maybe 5 issues?

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers (BOOM Studios) - Honest to God, if you had told me 3 years ago one of my fave comics would be a Power Rangers one, I would have laughed in your face. Both of these series are really good and provide the continuity, nuance, and characterization the show lacked. Fan of the show or not, I’d say it’s worth checking out if you enjoy the teenage superhero genre. Also, just some really amazing art and world-building.

Anything from Jinxworld - This is Bendis’ own publishing company. He’s put out Cover, Pearl, Scarlet, and United States vs. Murder, Inc. All of them are really good.

Umbrella Academy (Dark Horse) - This is the series the Netflix show is based off of. Right now, they’re doing Hotel Oblivion in the comics, but start with Apocalypse Suite and Dallas.

So, there you go anon. There are FAR more I would recommend, but I tried to give a good range of books for you to choose from without (hopefully) overwhelming you. And if you have any questions, I’m more than happy to talk about any of them.

Favorite relationship: either the brotp of her and michael or her/tahani Favorite headcanon: nothing's coming to mind atm 

Our Lord and Savior Lt. Commander Alicia Washington 

First impression: "i don't know where guzman went but WOW i am not complaining that this strong beautiful goth gorl who just ate a goddamn insect replaced him"Impression now: absolutely amazing and beautiful and the whole colony would fall apart without her and that's why we couldnt have a season 2. the ppl behind this show really really did not know what they had nor did they deserve her. Favorite moment: !! when she fought off a bunch of sixers on her own. simone kessell did ((most)) of her own stunts and it was sO so cool. and of course it resulted in the "still doing taylor's dirty work?" confrontation with mira which sparked so much gay angst headcanons. really that whole episode was great?? i love that she still had her wounds from the fight later on. like we've seen their med tech being advanced enough to heal cuts in an instant but she really just let it be. between that and her hair being down and her being so good with leah and just !! it was so nice in the earlier episodes when wash actually got scenes lol :/Idea for a story: that episode where mira and taylor keep imprisoning each other out in the jungle before realizing they have to work together to survive?? that but mira + wash. Unpopular opinion: im not super into wash/taylor. i see where it comes from but i love them more as a brotp than anything i think? Favorite relationship: threeway tie (lol) for wash/ayani, wash/mira, and wash/being alive. Favorite headcanon: she lowkey adopts a bunch of kids by accident. like she already has leah clinging to her, and with leah comes her brother sam. then if mira's daughter sienna ever makes it to tn (because i just rly need the sixers to reintegrate and wash/mira to reunite and rebuild the colony) there's that. plus the security team is basically a bunch of kids who look up to her.  

Sam Carter

First impression: "i started this show so i could get to claudia black's episodes at some point but i think im a little in love with this adorable blonde ray of sunshine" Impression now: ADORABLE BLONDE RAY OF SUNSHINE Favorite moment: is it cheating if i say the blooper where amanda calls rda "mr. mac-useless"? if so, then the time she was wearing a leather jacket and yelled in maybourne's face.Idea for a story: really i just want her and that pretty russian scientist dr. markov to have more missions together. Unpopular opinion: i feel bad all my unpopular opinions are about ships for this kljsdhfsdkljf but uhhh while i see the chemistry for sam/jack, it isn't something i personally care for. also! i wanna mention linnea Somewhere in here so like... lowkey i ship them (while acknowledging it would be an absolute mess, of course). it's just interesting imo and me shipping both that and sam/ke'ra is literally how i knew ke'ra was linnea before the reveal. really if this show had more girls to ship sam with i probablyyy wouldnt need to be like this and yet, Favorite relationship: sam/janet kfhkljsk. i also rly like her brotp with daniel early on though.  Favorite headcanon: so between her dead mom and (previously) shitty dad, i just rly want catherine langford to have kinda sorta taken over as a maternal figure for her back when they wouldve been able to work together more.

Sorry the first one got super long so this ended up being over 1k words lol (also sorry I can't put this under a cut on mobile afshfkglgl)

how did the relationship start?:

ok there's so many interesting ways it could go so I'm gonna base this on the fic I started to write but never finished lol;

Connor has a Very Big Crush on Markus and really wants advice on what to do, he feels a bit too embarrassed to talk to hank about it so he decides to talk to one of the Jericho gang and happens to come across Simon first

simon knows that markus has got a big crush on connor too (and also simon but he doesn't realise it) so he decides to play matchmaker (despite having feelings for markus too, as he's convinced they're unrequited, I sorta hc that as simon was a family unit android he used to have unrequited feelings for a regular visitor of the family he cared for, maybe a oldest son of the family who would stop by occasionally with a warm smile and simon ended up fully deviating by confessing to him, it didn't go well so simon tends to think the worst for himself)

connor isn't convinced that markus likes him back (turns out calculating the odds when it comes to emotions is very difficult and untrustworthy) so to prove it to him simon suggests an idea, that they start hanging out together at jericho more and if connor is okay with it get cosy together to make markus jealous, connor agrees he's still convinced it won't work but he wouldn't mind getting to know simon more and some affection from a cute boy would be nice

So they do just that, it starts off with them just hanging out more and whispering converstions that don't really require whispering and markus occasionally glances at them strangely but doesn't say anything

They amp it up slowly, lingering touches, holding hands, and then just full on cuddling and it surprises them both how easy it becomes for them

Except simon fucked up bc markus isn't really the obviously jealous type, instead he just starts to look sad but he still smiles warmly at them both whenever they talk to him. markus is honestly kinda confused bc when he looks at them together he feels a weird whirlwind of emotions, something like jealously but instead of being jealous of either them in particular he just feels like he wants to be a part of it.

connor is really worried about how sad markus seems to he decides to call it off with simon, simon conflictedly agrees (he doesn't wanna see markus sad either but he also doesn't wanna stop being touchy feely with connor--oh no)

except that just makes everything worse bc now All of them are miserable, they're all pining after each other and don't know what to do

meanwhile josh and north are watching this all from the sidelines, north is furious; she likes connor she really does she considers him a close friend now but markus has a special place in her heart and she knows simon's past so she can't help but feel protective over them and maybe lightly threaten connor to sort something out, while josh tries to keep her calm and offers sage advice of Just Talk It Out Together, miscommunication blows a lot of things out of proportion guys

Connor eventually ends up explaining the whole situation to hank who is flabbergasted because he had no idea of the complicated situation the kid had gotten himself into, he's not got much in the way of advice but he does give him a much needed hug

Makrus and Simon individually at a time talk to North and Josh

Markus: I feel like I somehow ruined things for them, they seemed really happy together I guess they could tell how it made me feel and maybe it made them uncomfortable ):

North: look I love you but, you're an idiot and they both have feelings for you

Simon: I was just trying to help connor and make markus happy, but I've messed it all up with my feelings

Josh: SERIOUSLY JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER??? please you're giving me anxiety.

They're all hopeless but surprisingly connor is the first one to actually do the logical thing and seeks out markus and simon so they can talk, he holds his composure for five seconds before blurting his and simon's plan to markus

markus: wait you like me???

connor: I'm in lov-i mean, yes.

simon: since we're getting it out there *sighs* I've kind of fallen for you connor

markus:...I love both of you

connor: whAT

simon: also, I fell for you too markus a long time ago--wait what

markus: seeing you two together...just made me want to join you

connor: I guess it would be a good idea to mention that I think I've developed feelings for simon too?

markus: so if we all mutually like each other...what's the problem?

simon: uh

connor: *rapid blinking* I...don't know?

markus: all this time we've been miserable when we could have just? All been together

then simon bursts out laughing, markus and connor joining in with giggles and they decide up to make up for lost time by cuddling together.

do they have pets?: yup. connor adopts a dog (maybe a terrier? They're very investigative) to be friends with sumo,

markus has a snake because snakes are cool and woefully misunderstood

and simon adopts a cat who he names siconkus (simon: it's the merging of our names, connor came up with it and I thought it'd be perfect

markus: it just sounds /weird/ and why that order?

connor: because I like to be in the middle when we snuggle

markus: *melting*

simon: because you're the shortest- connor: no-)

what habits of the other drives them crazy?:

markus and connor work too much and it frustrates simon to high heaven, he does his part of course but he knows not to push himself but apparently his two wonderful partners do not (simon forces them to take breaks once he learns their limits)

connor is a bit more sensitive to sound since he was developed as an android for law enforcement, he basically has SPD, so so as much as he loves markus and simon sometimes they're just TOO loud, sometimes simon will shout to someone across the room while next to connor without thinking, and sometimes markus makes a bit too much ruckus when hes painting or hits the wrong note on his piano by mistake and it just. stresses connor out. They both do their best to minimise this as much as possible and have backup stim toys with them at all times in case connor loses the one he has, and connor starts carrying earplugs in case it gets too much, but it's still bound to happen sometimes.

markus gets fed up with simon and connor's occasional bickering, it's almost always good natured and sometimes they end it themselves by making out, but sometimes they don't and it always seems to happen when markus is riight in the middle of watching a program

markus: can't you two shhh for five seconds

simon: make us

connor: I second that

markus: *rolls eyes but gives them both a quick kiss* now you both have to kiss and make up too

who steals the blankets?: connor because he likes feeling snuggly and he tends to to wrap it around himself in weird ways, and while it's a little annoying markus and simon aren't put out too much by it since they don't have to worry about freezing in the night so they both just wrap around connor to get cosy

who remembers things?: simon. markus is good at remembering important political things and connor is very good at remembering important case related stuff but they're both very bad at remembering everything else, such as before mentioned, forgetting to take breaks, and simon makes schedules for them

Simon movie/music headcanons? Simon and/or Jessica + babysitting (since you said he’s better with kids and I’d love to see your take). Also the obligatory “ah crap we gotta go to Gotham” hc/storyline crossover with Batfam/Batman? No pressure you just said “ideas?” And I saw so many scrolling through :)

I’m crying thank you!!! ok I really really really blabbered on here so I’m gonna put a read more on

music : Simon was a hundred percent behind Britney Spears & really hated (& still hates J*stin T*mberlake) & is still a known stan, also he loved the Spice Girls & while he’s been  a lil busy to listen to current music & know who they’re talking about he would totally die for Beyoncé

movie’s : he’s a nerd so I think he’d be really into sci-fi/fantasy movies but also I think he’d watch gotg & yell about how theres actually no sound in space so in reality I think he unapologetically loves romcoms & his fav movies are The Princess Bride, 2005′s Pride & Prejudice, Big Eden tbh & also Jessica thinks its adorable

babysitting : ok ok my actual weakness? Simon with kids??? ok ok, he’s literally the best uncle ever & its not like he’s a kid whisperer but he’d literally never raise his voice to a minor/woman ever like he could be giving Farid cooking lessons & Farid could literally dumb boiling water on him & Simon would be all calm & make sure FArid was ok & the stuff was put away b4 he saw to his burns like he..just won’t yell at kids, he’s a good man & he was yelled at by alot of people when he was little & he’d never wanna be a grown ass man who tried to scare kids like them so he just would never???? & when he’s watching kids they get that, like they know he’s gonna enforce the rules but he’d like talk to them not scream/punish, & he’s really good at getting into their games because he can literally carry like 4 toddlers at once somebody stop this beautiful man. when any of Farid’s friends accidentally break one of his toys (or Farid himself) Simon can literally just fix it & he makes sure they understand that so they don’t get to upset. he’s also a firm believer in the saying sorry rule as in “sorry means you won’t do “it” again” & makes sure the kids understand that when they are in trouble, he also is really cool & really does enjoy spending his free time w family & friends, so he will always help Farid & his friends (if they’re over) w homework & he loves helping him w projects tbh (when Farid is older & in the science fair, trust me when I say Farid’s not entering with a weak ass volcano), there’s so much more I can go on about Simon & kids forever so I’m prob gonna make a parent hc post eventually tbh, so I’m gonna move on to Jessica.

Jessica : admittedly I put less thought into this, ok so while I think Jess isn’t bad w kids like she’s not one of those freaks who are mean to kids for no reason, I don’t think she’d like actively try to deal with them like on cases she’s content having Simon play w them & honestly she doesn’t like babies they cry & they can be hurt so easily & she doesn’t want to hurt them so she never holds them & like children kinda give her anxiety because she doesn’t wanna upset them so she overthinks everything she says & does w them & how they interpret it & it’s a never ending spiral of panicking so…yeah she doesn’t seek em out, but! when they go to her while she’s patroling or hanging w Simon’s fam or something she’s so nice??? she doesn’t realize it but her smile & how she talks to them?? every kid just gets inspired to be just like her?? like with Simon they feel safe but with Jessica they feel like heroes??? does any of that make sense I’m just kinda blabbering & I’m gay & can’t explain my thoughts properly lol

gotham/batfam : ok them going to Gotham for a case is interesting but whats more interesting??? going to Gotham because Bruce invited him! like Bats invited him to the cave so…he visits, like while he works w the League it makes sense for him to work on the League’s official vehicles, but he gets asks to look at the batmobile? like ok let me explain Bats is a dad & Simon’s roughly his eldest’s age so he low-key reminds him of Dick (esp personality wise) & he feels unappreciated? Bats isn’t good w words but he is good w gestures so yeah he asks Simon to fix his car after is crashes the billionth time & yeah he lets Simon upgrade it lord knows it needed them & sure maybe he had Alfred bully Simon into staying for dinner to make sure he ate & sure maybe he made sure Damian was here because Simon loves children & having him teach Damian about cars while he worked on it cheered him up but he doesn’t care or anything (he’s /this/ close to writing up adoption orders).

Simon w the rest of the fam starting w Alfred: he loves him there’s just a shared respect of someone who does everything for family, like everytime they see eachother the look the exchange…it tells a thousand stories, also they exchange reciepes & cooking tips (& parenting tips) all the time & when Simon goes over he’ll bring something he made from one of Alf’s recipes & Alf will make one of Simon’s & they’ll see how it turned out….what I’m saying is that they’re bros’s they’re /this/ close to starting a book club together

Dick: like Alfred they bonded near instantly from the mutual reconition of doing everything for their family but also Dick hit on him once & if Simon wasn’t crazy about Jessica right then he would’ve taken him up on it, Simon mostly visits either to just chat, for some advice w Jessica or tbh to hang w his bf Tiger,  when he visits he always brings food so Dick really doesn’t mind tbh, long story short is they bros but like more low-key than him & Alf & Bruce

Jason: Simon doesn’t really have a no killing rule or anything but he doesn’t like it at all y’know but he also doesn’t disagree w Jason’s methods so he doesn’t but heads w him but Jason did come to see him w he found out he was hanging w Alf, now Jason joined in on his & Alf’s recipe trades & sometimes they’ll talk about books or something. Really they’re not close but Jason really appreciates having another person to talk to (& he really is that ride or die friend) & who doesn’t judge him at all tbh & Simon’s really just the same way, like they only talk once or twice a month but they do mean alot to each other. also Jason bullies Simon into befriending Roy,Artemis & Bizzaro & while the latter two took some time to like him & Roy hit it off immediately to Jason’s instant regret

Tim: Tim’s smart but honestly him & Simon just clash y’know & (tim stans don’t interact) like y’know if he wanted to talk to a genius he’d talk to Cyborg,Cisco,Dick, or Bruce (who are smarter)? before him like Tim’s just young enough & just old enough that Simon doesn’t really deal w his age group? I do think Simon’s nice to him but theres just no friendship between them they just coexist tbh

Duke: Duke’s a new young hero who’s actually up in the daytime!?? so yeah him & Simon run into eachother alot & Simon’s been in the business just long enough not to be a rookie so he helps alot & Simon was shocked at how smart Duke was tbh & really likes talking stuff w him if only to see how long it’ll take for him to figure it out? & its always so quick? Simon can’t wait to see how big he’ll be in a few years so while Simon’s only like 6-8 years older then him he’s sorta tryin to be a mentor to him

Damian: Bruce is Jewish & so is literally the rest of the fam so Simon’s literally one of the only practicing Muslims that see Damian often so he invites Damian to his family for their holidays & celebrations & that may be the only times they interact but it means so much to Damian & the family when he does it

Cass: Cass is the best judge of character in the entire DC universe & she saw Simon & decided he was good & just?? befriended him like they don’t bond over anything in particular but Simon always treats her like a princess (in a nice way) & Cass & Jess are friends so Simon’s cool w her & they’re both pretty much the friends yelling (& signing in Cass’s case) your doing amazing sweetie when they see eachother

Steph: She’s closer to Jessica but honestly Stephanie’s the Gina Linetti of the dc universe she’s that bitch she’s a known icon, when you need someone destroyed via social media you go to her & given the amount of shit on the green lantern official twitter (they’ve had one for public realations since Hal’s Earth GL days) against Simon & Jessica for terrible reasons…lets just say…Steph’s the friend to have tbh (Vic, & Babs just threaten to shut down twitter when it happens Steph detroys them)

Luke: Simon heard Luke’s story & he knew how smart he was but he wasn’t ready for when they met, they talked for hours & once Simon invited him to come to a bar w him & Vic they immediately become that group of science bros, but also he & Vic are like the only people Simon knows that “sport” & while Simon really doesn’t its nice to feel like a “normal” dude sometimes so he always watches the game w him

Tiffany : Tiffany’s such a genius & Simon’s a engineer & Tiffany thought that was so cool “Luke you’ve gotta invite him over c’mooooon” so yeah Simon came over to meet this Tiffany & they literally spent the better part of an entire day talking shop it was honestly one of the best days of Simon’s life, now Simon takes her to science exhibits w Luke & lectures & Tiffany tells him about what she learned each day & Simon always asks the right questions & yeah they’re just nerdy bffs

Helena (Rebirth): she scared him at first but Simon understands trying to be a hero after doing things you’re not proud of & situations you can’t always control & they may not be friends but Simon does believe she’s good & that means everything to her

Babs (Oracle): you can’t be a hero & not know who Oracle is, she keeps everything running together?? they don’t talk much honestly Simon barely knows her name but aside from his Mom,Sister, & Jessica there’s no one he respects more

Claire : Simon thought it was funny at first, like this little girl really got up & decided to be a hero & then did it??? & continues to do it everynight???? but then he found out what it does to her & Simon & her have & will probaly never meet but Simon always asks about her to make sure she’s doing ok, Simon is planning on going to the guardians to see why she can’t get a ring because he can’t think of much things braver than dying a little bit each time you’re a hero

Harper  : she really did that? like for her brother god does Simon respect that & Simon  doing all of that for someone who may as well be his brother? god does Harper respect that. they bond over mechanical stuff & help each other on projects & once they started hanging out God does Harper’s suit & gadgets improve like holy shit  

Kate : Simon was honestly uncomfortable with her when he found out she was ex military & honestly is still a little but he does recognize her importance & when he sees her prowling the night god  does he leave her alone 

Jessica w the Batfam stating w Bruce : I like to think there’s a few hero support groups for various things & she didn’t wanna go to the anxiety one alone so Bats (who already went but she didn’t need to know that) offered to go with her & she knew he took Simon to the depression one so she said yes, & now they go together every week & honestly it means alot to her & they kinda bonded over that (and how much they both love Simon (Bruce in a paternal way) 

Alfred : Jessica adores Alfred he’s like the second easiest person to talk to & he’s so calming & he makes tea & he never talks down to her & he gives good advice so whenever Simon visits Jessica tries to come to if just to sit with the man he’s her new favorite Grampa 

Dick : Dick’s younger than the league but super experienced in the hero business & tbh theres not many who are more experienced so when she needs help w a gig but is not about to call the league the contacts him (over text obv), they don’t hang much, because despite popular taste Dick’s a lil too serious for her taste, she does appreciate the effort he makes to make her feel like they’re peers when he’s clearly issuing commands, she def sees thru his jokes & facade & while she never mentions it there’s a understanding between them  

Jason : Jess doesn’t like killing point blank (ayy) but she understands the J*ker needs to uhhh die so she refuse to hang w him on moral grounds but also she’s low-key rooting for him tbh 

Tim : I think they just met over completely normal conversations?? like they both just awkwardly talked & everytime they meet they just meet & awkwardly talk? Jessica’s glad he’s back (it was not fun seeing Bats mourn) & Tim thinks she’s a fucking powerhouse but yeah their relationship is literally the  friends of a mutual friend that constantly meet & talk but also aren’t really friends 

Duke : Jess thinks Duke is so cool, he’s one of Gotham’s only superpowered heroes & he’s pretty much its only line of defense during the day. what she didn’t expect was how much of a nerd he was, when they finally met they spent no less than 8 hours throughout the day talking about Lord of the Rings

Damian : Damian doesn’t partically care about Jess one way or the other but when they did meet he wanted to know why she changed her costume as the old one was clearly had a better design, Jess didn’t have the heart to explain all that happened but they did start talking about art & stuff, now their relationship is mostly Jess commissioning him to draw her oc’s tbh 

Cass : Cass is also part of the girls club & honestly Jess & her bond so much talking about how their disability’s effect their day to day lives, they each have their own support system but there’s no reason they can’t support eachother. aren’t close friends but are still one of eachothers greatest cheerleaders 

Steph : Steph is part of the girls club & they both love pokemon honestly they kept on running into eachother when pokemon go came out & they still play it together, alot of the girl heroes get together all the time for a ladies night & while Jess isn’t ready yet Steph is putting an honest (& impressive) effort in convincing her (she’s close tho) 

Luke : they’re so mutually impressed by eachothers determination, like they’re not close at all but god do they respect eachother 

Tiffany : they respect eachothers aesthetics & thats the strongest way for women to become friends tbh, always have makeup on hand for eachother. their friendship is the true definition of girl solidarity tbh. Tiffany’s so busy coming off as intelligent that sometimes she forgets to be a lil girl & its so easy w Jessica, Luke swears she looks like she’s going to disneyland or something everytime Jessica comes over 

Helena (Rebirth): again she doesn’t like killers but she’s part of the girls club & while there may be no love between them Jess does believe in second chances & she really is rooting for her 

Babs : Jessica is so shook by her, Babs is shook by her they recognize powerhouses when they see it & Jessica seeing a disabled woman being easily the power house of the batfam??? she’s honestly never felt so inspired, Jess hands down hero worships her & tbh Babs is shocked because a effing Green Lantern thinks she’s powerful & that mutual validation??? awe inspiring 

Claire : they also met at the hero support group & Jessica’s with Simon, like she came back to life (sorta) because of a Green Lantern ring why can’t Claire have one?? they hang out together & honestly Claire’s one of the few people Jessica’s comfortable going “out & about” with 

Harper : part of the girl squad & while they don’t have much in common they really do like each other in wow that one girl that saved me last night seems really cool tbh, definite respect there

Kate : she’s so gay for her but everytime Kate flirts w her she forgets how to fuction therefore their relationship is in a constant impasse tbh, the constant paradox of wanting to be her gf but also can’t talk to her & Kate just wants to learn her name
