It was Calypso's birthday, and the fireworks were booming away in the night sky. They were so bright and loud that even under the ocean, they caught the attention of the mermaid Ariel. Her father, King Stede, thought she was home working on homework, but she had snuck out of her room to treasure hunt.

When she surfaced and saw the massive pirate ship, Ariel was intrigued and went to investigate. What she saw onboard was a whole bunch of joyous people loving life and each other.

She was watching them dance when her friend, Buttons the Seagull, came to say hello. She tried to make him go away so he wouldn't alert the pirates of her presence, but he didn't listen…like usual. As they watched the party continue, a very handsome bearded man started to sing.

Now, even the mermaids knew about Blackbeard, so as the lovely song filled the sea air, Ariel recognized him leaning against the railing. Seconds later, she watched as he went to move but slipped and tumbled backward into the ocean.

Ariel went to rescue him but found her dad had gotten there first. Guess he had figured out that she wasn't at home doing her schoolwork and had come to find her. Hmm…her dad and Blackbeard were staring at each other rather oddly.

Oh! OHHH!

And then Ariel watched as her dad transformed into a human and went with the pirate onto the ship. Blackbeard found some clothes for Stede, and Ariel smiled as the besotted man introduced her dad to the crew.

Her attention turned upward then as a new set of fireworks started. It wasn't until the last sizzle of color faded from the night sky that she noticed her dad and Blackbeard were not on deck. Wanting to be sure the dreaded pirate didn't hurt her dad, Ariel swam around and looked in all the windows for them.

OHHHH F#ck!!! She shouldn't have looked in that window! As happy as she was for her dad, that was definitely not the image she wanted to have burned into her brain!

CEO (human) and Arowana (the weird fish thing)

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

They do extremely unethical experiments on people together under the guise of saving them, but Arowana is just using them to eat the people while telling CEO that that was a last resort. CEO is hopelessly devoted to them, both romantically and religiously, and uses everything he has financially and emotionally to support whatever they do (even to him). Arowana is initially only using him, but falls in love and becomes unhealthily obsessed, threatening to harm those who look at him. CEO is a human, Arowana is a god, keeping him alive no matter what happens to him. (Also, Arowana does have a human form, they're just not in it 80% of the time.)

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

Domestic terrorists that work together, stay together. Orphans to friends to lovers. Both way to codependent on each other since childhood, that now Ariel always defends Edward even if she’s knows he’s in the wrong, and Edward makes excuse for her behavior too. Knowing his plans to hurt people, Ariel enables and supported him. Even taking his place when he’s locked away. They do have possessiveness over each other, and it’s definitely seen when they’re together. Ariel likes knowing how much of a hold she has in Edward, and Edward loves her faithfulness. That being said they’ll have times they both are guiltily of being emotionally unavailable and using each other for comfort and a power dynamic, but calling it undying devotion.

Domestic terrorists that work together, stay together. Orphans to friends to lovers. Both way to codependent on each other since childhood, that now Ariel always defends Edward even if she’s knows he’s in the wrong, and Edward makes excuse for her behavior too. Knowing his plans to hurt people, Ariel enables and supported him. Even taking his place when he’s locked away. They do have possessiveness over each other, and it’s definitely seen when they’re together. Ariel likes knowing how much of a hold she has in Edward, and Edward loves her faithfulness. That being said they’ll have times they both are guiltily of being emotionally unavailable and using each other for comfort and a power dynamic, but calling it undying devotion.

Before Edward Turner completely transformed Triumph’s machines for 1937, the company’s Depression-era range consisted of motorcycles designed by Valentine Page. Rarely seen in the U.S., Page’s mid-1930s lineup consisted of 250cc, 350cc, 500cc and 550cc singles, as well as a 650cc twin. The 1936 Model 3/1, like the motorcycle offered here, was a 350cc single equipped with a separate 4-speed, hand-shift transmission. In the 1936 Triumph brochure, the 3/1 was described as “A model ideally suited for all-round touring conditions.”

Page had been working for Ariel before taking up a position with Triumph in 1932. By 1933, he’d developed and debuted a total of 11 new models. His motorcycles were built to a high standard and were available with a wide variety of options. None of them were particularly inexpensive to produce. Introduced for 1934, Page had given the 3/1 side-valve model a 70mm x 89mm bore and stroke to provide an overall capacity of 343cc. For a companion in the lineup, there was also an overhead-valve 350cc Model 3/2. For 1936, an aluminum side-valve cylinder head was standard specification on the 3/1. Both the engine and transmission were placed in a duplex cradle, tubular-steel frame, with a girder fork leading the way. A pressed-steel chain case covered the single-row primary chain and clutch.

Very little chrome plating was used, with many of the cycle parts finished in black, including the wheel rims, frame, fork, rear stand, fenders and gas and oil tanks. This 3/1 appears to have the rear rack that was an available option directly from Triumph. A Lucas 6-volt combined magneto and generator, commonly referred to as a Magdyno, with headlight, tail light and horn was standard equipment. This previously restored Triumph 3/1 appears well-preserved and has that electrical equipment installed. However, it’s noted that the machine is not currently wired, as it was last used to complete daytime rallies. This is a unique opportunity to own a Val Page-designed Triumph.
