For the millionth time, Harry rolled up the sleeve of his two-sizes-too-big shirt. He felt ridiculous in his satin pants, the fabric flowing around him and waving as if he had on a skirt. But he was dressed. Compromises, compromises. 

He grabbed Snape's wand eagerly. Fantastic feeling, to have the smooth wood in his hands again, gently vibrating with magic. Harry delightedly enjoyed the excitement bubbling in his gut, drowning out the void in which he was stuck. 

"Try Accio, Mr. Potter. Carefully. Nothing bad should happen. Your portals are fully functional again, but you should start using them gradually… It would be wise for you to at least pretend to perceive me." 

"What? I'm sorry." Harry grinned. "I'm listening to you, sir. Use gradually, got it." 

His fingers eagerly itched. Harry looked around the room. I've been waiting for this for two months! He waved the wand.

Snape narrowed his eyes. Harry had the impression that his black pupils were piercing right into his spine. But it was a very strange concept that Snape had a grandmother, like he wasn't always a big, black embodiment of sarcasm. He swallowed. Harry, you're in trouble, your apology won't fix this. You'll be scrubbing cauldrons for the next hundred years. 

"I'll buy you new ones, seriously. I promise." 

Snape mockingly shook his head. 

"You think I don’t suffer enough? I don't even dare to think about what kitsch you would choose." 

He reached out, sent Evanesco by wandless magic. The wreckage of the clock irrevocably disappeared. 

"So, if no other piece of my furniture has offended you," he announced dryly as he turned back to Harry, "I would be infinitely pleased if you could be bothered, Mr. Potter, to attempt Accio."
