It's just a hot-button issue within the fandom, and I'm just genuinely curious about the numbers. Please reblog for a bigger sample size! If you want to put your answer in the tags, feel free, but of course, you don't have to.
I wanted to ask more detailed questions about the games played, but I only had a limited amount of questions. I might make another poll about what games you play or what you play for. CoD Zombies fans, I see you, and I love you.
COME GET YOUR COD MAN WITH THIS DIALOGUE FROM QUEEN OF THE SOUTH
I was just rewatching one of my fave shows and I forgot about this scene and fuck! I WANT EVERY COD COSPLAYERS TO VISIT ME HAHAHAAHHAHAHA!!!! (im losing my shit)
This is implied to be a female reader scenerio but it doesn't really matter to be honest-
I need more Y/N things where Y/N couldn't give to fucks what happens to them, where they're just kinda like "oh okay, that happened. Whatever"
Someone yells at them, whatever
Someone grabs their chest, Okay it happened
Someone puts hands on them, okay I don't really care
But the minute
The SECOND
Someone puts hands or yells at their partner. You bet you your ass they're up in that person's face, in their personal space. Making it everyone's issue that person made their partner uncomfortable. Regardless of if their partner could handle it or not.
No matter that person's rank, Y/N would be in their face.
COD Y/N? In Shepard's face for betraying Los Vaqueros and the 141
ATWOW Y/N? Right up Ronal's shit for putting hands on Kiri or belittling Neteyam and Lo'ak
Blue Eye Samuria Y/N? Standing up to the Shogun and any man
Marvel Y/N? Oh Tony's in for it now
DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON A PERCY JACKSON Y/N! IF Y'ALL THOUGHT PERCY WAS BAD OH MOTHER FUCKER THEY'D BE CURSING OUT GAIA AND CRONOS
Begging the COD mw2 fandom to actually spread their interests in characters and be more open to the characters they do stuff for because there’s so much potential to so many more characters outside of the mw2 cast. I feel like if the mw2 fanbase expanded their interests more, I think they’d find so many other interesting characters to write for just outside of the mw2 game and I’d love to see it because of how genuinely awesome and creative the fanbase can be.
To list a few of my personal favorites from a few other COD games
Velikan, Krueger, Nikto from MW (2019)
Captain price, Kyle “gaz” Garrick, Alex Keller, Farah Karim from MW campaign (2019)
Lucas Riggs from Call of duty: Vanguard (2021)
Frank Woods and Helen Park from Call of duty: Black ops Cold War (2020)
Logan Walker, David “hesh” Walker, Keegan P. Russ from Call of duty: ghosts (2013)
Also I feel like it should be said but: there are more operators at your dispense in COD: MW2 (2022).. not just König. I love him dearly but sometimes it feels like people forget any other operator exists just for him.. spice it up a little, will you? (oni and gromsko my beloveds.)
Anyways, that was my stupid ramble LOL, forgive me
*"I believe the characters are representative of certain archetypes and I can glean what I need from that" (Why aren't these answers longer?!)
My intention with this poll is to satisfy my own curiosity. So far on my previous poll, 68ish people have answered: "I have no intention to play or watch" the CoD games. I personally can't create without the strong emotional connection I get from canon, so I'd love to know how it works for someone who hasn't engaged in a piece of media but creates for it. I did my best to think of reasons why someone might do that, I hope I covered everything without sounding like an ass.
Please DO NOT use my poll to harass or send hateful messages to anyone. That is not my intent with this poll. This is for SCIENCE. That's why the comments are off.
Okay so we're all a big fandom when it comes to Call of Duty, but I always visioned that the fandom was split in some ways. Besides that, I don't wanna go too into detail, I was wondering about your opinions on COD games that were deemed horrible, like do you agree with the majority of the fandom, or do you disagree, or are you meh.
And I'm talking about the three main modes, Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. Let me know, I'll like to hear everyone's opinion. Maybe I make some polls later.
Call of Duty has had so many chances to create something really unique and original and just,,, not. Like, Vanguard was a WWII game and they wanted to keep the gunsmith and MW style killstreaks, and instead of leaning into it and going full alternate history dieselpunk they just,,, made a shitty generic ww2 game?
Cold War's campaign was a genuinely interesting and unique spy thriller. I would have watched it as a movie. Since playing it I've noticed the distinct lack of first person spy thriller games. Like can you imagine an open world spy game set in Cold War Berlin?? If it wasn't CoD this game would have set off so many copycats! But did they do anything with that concept elsewhere, say, co-op infiltration multiplayer, stealth based game modes, etc? Nope! Just the same multiplayer sandbox every CoD game has had since the Modern Warfare reboot, and the campaign was written off by the gaming world at large because it was CoD and the part that people actually care about stayed exactly the same.
It's so disheartening that this franchise with so much money and so many incredible programmers and writers (yes writers Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, and every Black Ops game have all had stories that can go toe to toe with the likes of Arkane, Obsidian, Naughty Dog, etc) behind it is too afraid to take any kind of risk or make anything that's memorable in favor of the safe option of yearly iterations of the same thing.
